"TV, I didn't really like the look of it either. They, they also had the e-tron I think at the pride of our races, well, the Audi e-tron apparently, it's at some sort of a lap record there that was, that was cool. But yeah, nothing with EQ is yet, but I'll keep you posted."
"Cause like that they brought Dianna was like, yeah, it's exciting to smaller City. Electric City Car, like the same thing with the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and, and meow. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, it's just, it's just like"
"supposed to be the own. One of the only big companies that supposed to move towards electrification with the Marquis and the F-150. The other thing he said was they didn't realize that the wiring harnesses and looms inside the car, are 1 Point 3 km longer than they need to be okay, it's not efficient. He also said that they didn't"

Does professional idiot. After hours.
How are you doing? Well, doing quite well.
Thank you, Maddy. So, what are you thinking about
survival? He could to say, it wasn't so
good to see you. Good to hear all your voices are
heard, say, good to see. All of you guys.
R is on the train. You know, as you said in
earlier, he was in a hundred fifty thousand dollar car.
Now isn't a 20 million dollar train.
So, you know, he's moving upwards in a drills and perhaps a little better be moving up, wouldn't care.
Absolutely, it will, we can see because in a is those on the platform, you know, he's, he's done big things.
We're getting this is on the Move in a minute, but we start with the he's clean. He's How you doing man?
Could have you back on the show. Happy New Year to you because
you haven't seen you in a while. Hopefully, you're doing well.
We'll start with you. And you update my friend update,
where we last time, last time I spoke to you, I think I was looking for a car. Now, your dad bought the Civic.
You are, you would model the stutter to modify the Civic.
Okay. Okay.
So I've actually a little bit of a bone to pick with mr.
David prints, here we go research on social media before I bought the Civic and I like I just wanted to get some opinions on on these cars rumbling and I got nothing David Prince.
I'm not surprising, it's all good.
So eg8 ej8 Civic e. J EK coupet.
That's the one. Yeah.
So it's it's, it was in a fair state of disrepair.
It had set in someone's front yard for potentially three to four years. Just needed a good going-over.
Over the obvious paint peel that you would expect sitting in the sunlight for that long. So you have just done the
typical 20 year-old sort of modifications.
So the coilovers black, the black, the roof black.
The Bonnet that was essentially just a hide, the pain pill.
So yeah, it looks like it looks like I should be 20 years younger than I am throw them. How long have you had that?
How long is it since I can barely 12 months ago?
Okay, so, pre coded text on them all know.
Now, I got this, I got actually got this really cheap which is the reason I bought it. Because last time I think I was
on this podcast talking to you guys.
I was kind of looking at a whole bunch of different things but this was kind of on the side and I wasn't really sure if I wanted to do it or not. I wasn't sure if a Civic was for
me, but now that I've bought it and now that I've sort of played around with it, I'm super happy I did because I absolutely love the thing. I never thought I would ever say
that in my life, it's, it's no rocket.
Could ship it is the the D16 Y8. So it is the single cam Ivy Tech
Motor. It is it's not a rocket ship.
VTEC kicks in around five and a half thousand and revs 27.
So doesn't stay around for long and it's not really overwhelming at all, but it's fun. It's such a fun little car to
drive around. It's dead puts a smile on my
face every time, I mean it, that's the key isn't it?
That is a Chi Minh as you know that we ought to stay.
Sweet. We got it.
The ajh from America. Yep.
And the I remember now a new day had, they had more quality problems. In the Honda dealers were used
to and I remember can will ponder at the time.
Three delivering one in the mirror would the electric mirrors, wouldn't work. Now that's unusual.
Now pull the switch out that a lot of the parts we would Mexico for them cook and there were no wires in the unit whatsoever that was why he didn't actually work.
So like a lot of Those quality dishes were picked up at PD, but but they're proving the test of time.
A lot of them are still on the road.
Absolutely, we have one in the family actually.
Did they? So the one with the twin cam
VTEC motor. They're quite sought after in
quite rare. I don't know.
Did we get many here? I don't remember seeing many not
a lot. The vti are that was that came
out that replace the vti our hatch.
I think they came in and out and about 98 99 on inaudible ET.
Uh, yeah, so not a lot of them. They were quite a bit more
expensive than the regular qu the GLI and which were more expensive than the hatches and the sedans.
So there was sort of a double premium on them.
So yeah, as a result of not many were sold but to find a good original ones. Getting very, very hard.
But those now absolutely like they seem to just to either be worth a lot of money or just don't exist.
So so that's kind of your real you real too.
Options. But now Heath it seems to be
going well in with that car then.
So you sort everything else so you see what everything else?
No I actually. So, how far do we go down this
Rabbit Hole? I've still got the drift cute,
but it could potentially be being sold or being parted out to donate a lot of its organs to my next drift, build okay.
Which, which I bought just prior to Christmas and it's actually a uber Uber on be cool. Like a Brumby, it Saga.
I bought my first car back essentially.
Awesome. So are you going to like put
obviously like an Sr or something?
You know, or are you going to keep it easy?
Like we keep it in the in the Box?
A family? No, I like not replacing head
gaskets. Yeah, the boxer motor can can go
right in the bin. Yeah.
It's a depends on what happens with the t22 if that sells.
Then I'll look at a V8 of some sort just pure bang for buck these days. It's hard to sort of go past
them, if it doesn't sell, and I use it for a donor car, then I'll put the motor gearbox and all that sort of gear from it into the Brumby. So, it'll be a nice and sort of
Drive Line. Not a lot.
It's the ka24de comes in those Navarre.
Yeah. And that was turbo and
everything ready to go, right? Yeah, Turbo, Charge it and
bigger injectors, and bigger fuel pumps, and all that sort of stuff. Because it's the quite a strong
motor. Like that's the same motor they
got in the, in the 240SX, in the states.
Right? Yeah.
So they the earlier 240SX at the single care motor.
Yeah. I'd love to chase down a twin
cam motor. They're not too hard to find,
but you're still getting them out of Nevarez.
So yeah. Yeah.
Well That's a no. So you got to do that and then
basically, on your way again in the drift world.
Yeah. Just another project to keep me
off the track because it's all about, it's all about seed time in the drift world and I've had a total of Let's say an hour and 15 minutes now so it's better than nothing.
Yeah it's better more. More than all of us have had in
on this on this chat. So yep.
Move on to mr. Prince, you updates my updates
aren't a huge of this week. I've been still fiddling around
with the Civic wagon getting that and a lot of work actually getting organized for the we call it the festival.
Of Civic at Phillip Island in March.
The 11th, it doing it. As part of the Phillip Island
classic Festival of Motorsport. We're doing a an event to
celebrate 50 years since the Civic went on sale in Australia.
So we've if anyone's listening in wanted to bring a Civic along, hey, we can organize some discount on weekend passes and things like that. So my own You get 50 Civics on
the main straight for a photoshoot at 5 p.m. after
racing finishes on the Saturday. Why not get 50?
But you know, we'll see how we go.
So in other words Loki Heath is talking to you.
Yeah yeah I'm here in it. The another we've got any J @k I
know we might have one EJ at coming up but plenty me.
All the merrier and I widened around 20.
People said oh no, my car's not good enough to bring along and sort of said it all. Yes, it is because there are
plenty of Civic. Still on the road that an
Immaculate, they're there. They just keep going.
And actually had a lady contact me today.
She's just bought a new HRV, but she couldn't part with her EK Civic. 98, EK City, catch manual, 400,000 cases.
It's done changed since she bought it, and she said, it's not worth anything to anybody because of the mileage.
He said, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with it and she wants to put on Club plates and keep it and use it on the weekend. She said I much preferred to the
HIV was just the Insisted and I get four doors and something with more safety features that she said, I don't want that sipc to go. Anyway, thanks very much.
So they're so here there's been a lot of work put into organizing that also, if not more, sort of care related, I've actually been to watch something on the weekend, which I don't normally do, but I just got so into it.
I don't know if any of you heard of a documentary called the last over land, that was awesome. Yes, it was It's like the
original Overland to or was in 1955 a couple of series 1 Land Rovers drove from London to Singapore and it was the sort of first Overland trip of that distance and it was documented by these these guys from some from Cambridge and some from Oxford University in the UK and it was one of David attenborough's first jobs as a TV producer, he actually commissioned it, and, and, and funded it.
And a lot of the footage was the first time, These places that they went on route through it, ever been seen anyway fast-forward, what's that? That was in 55.
So yeah, a lot of years later and another filmmaker in the UK heard about it and thought how cool would it be to re-enact Singapore? Back to London?
And he actually found one of the original Range Rovers on an island in the Pacific somewhere. Got to back to the UK, rebuilt,
it and did the trip again from Singapore back to keep the real kick at was that. One of the guys on the original
Expedition who wrote a book about it is still alive and wanted to be, get come along with him and do the reverse trip from Singapore, London. So bit of a one of those say,
when you tell someone, the plot of something happens.
Anyway, if you Google it and find it, you'll see he didn't actually get to compete it. But compete at that didn't
actually get to join the Expedition at the last minute, but he's such a 21 year old grandson.
Stood in for him and completed. It was like three and a half
months. Take a look, four episodes.
It was a brilliant documentary and it was all interspersed with footage from the 55 trip as well.
It's really cool College. Are I watched episode one last
night and we're good good. I wanted to watch it anyway,
even before you told me about it but but you know came up and this Saturday night, the last Overland I was like wow that looks good but missed it so I'm glad that.
Yes, SPS on-demand allows you to re-watch things and I really enjoyed the first one. In.
But the interspersion of that old footage is like, and sometimes you can't quite tell. Like, that's right, that's
right. Maybe sort of looking going.
Oh, hang on. That's the old footage.
Wow, it's really cool because I restored that the car, but they still left a lot of patina on it.
Oh, yeah, underneath it was brand-new but you know, the that's right, that's right. We're still pulling off in
Turkmenistan or somewhere on the episode 3, you'll get to that we all get to that. But yeah, so if you've got a
couple of hours free, I think they're only 45 minute episodes of I think it was really really worth watching.
Good show. I'd love to do a trip like that.
What can we do? Scans back to saitama with our
built. I think the way out today I will
you do but you have to go to Bow but you can still, you know, doing do the long way around to get back to say turban?
Hmm. Anyway, anyway, Food For Thought
Food For Thought, So I think that's me.
I think that's all I've got so far, very good album, even spoken to you in a while. How are you?
My friend, are you seeing A bit unwell.
Yeah, like I said I'm doing my best to the current keeper things have gone on. I met him.
Plan changes overall the last couple weeks so I'm working on my team this year either and take advantage of that.
Bye. Well I'll supposed to at least
go to your country and you know the plan was to travel at least a week from now but given the code diagnosis and I we might have to push those tickets or If we are will clear by them, we could be yeah, taking off which I'm hopeful for because I'd rather push tickets but you until we test - because unfortunately is one of the few countries that requires.
Yes. You haven't - PCR test.
Look we arrived and I don't feel comfortable going on the plane was covid. Anyway, because last thing you
want to do is in fact a couple hundred other people that are, you know, just trying to make things amazing.
But on the conference before I go, I have the best job working for a service and because I forgot to do the recall which they re driving lamp cable, can get oil on it or something of those that nature. Also to get that checked out.
The only place that would let me get the recall and the surf zone. Same time Subaru Doncaster.
So it's all my first choice considering up with your have gone. Ethnic Medora, even docklands.
So, I'm basically on Monday, assuming I'm getting wealth, the Monday before I leave. I'm taking the Subaru, getting
that taken care of, and it'll be a couple of hours, but hopefully you'll be well there. The rest of the cars are going
well, I've got a second, quote, for the MX-5 soft top and this one so a little bit cheaper, but they still won't, I think thirty three hundred dollars. Hmm.
And I won probably thinks look They know what they're doing.
I should just let them take care of it, but, you know, the Indian Army's like that's 1500 rolls. You could be saving if you just
do it yourself. The only problem is, I don't
know how well, I'm going to go out to dinner in the disassembly of the sort of above the clouds, not exactly hard spot.
It seems making sure all the little pieces that you have to transplant from the old soft top onto the new one.
That's probably where I think I'll end up having a lot of trouble and he didn't order one. You've got a whole week to do
nothing. Else.
But if I felt strong enough like you do it David I probably would have ordered it but I also probably end up waiting until hopefully we'll see a better exchange rate as well with the u.s. If we do I could end up saving a
couple rolls there as well. What's a run outs?
Let's talk to me about I can hurdle ships.
Sorry, what's wrong with the current one?
Ellen, what's wrong with that top?
Are you going to see in that classic Japan at the window?
The glory of glass window top stitching has kind of broken off. Yeah.
And you know, it's it's showing a little bit of a gap.
So if it does rain as potential around to going and it's only going to get obviously white and white as time goes on.
You just get in that restitched, I did get like an idea about that as well, but it was decided that by the time his heart stopped is also at this point, you know, 20 years old and it's been the Queensland son. Is it worth kind of putting in
the labor to fix it only for possibly a couple of years before? Appointee to replace anyway,
it's got a lot of a couple Cycles in it.
I don't remember the rest of it being that bad only the inside.
It looks pretty trashy but that's still okay.
But there's a couple holes in the in like the top areas but they're not, they're not Halls at world come through.
It's just I'm afraid that if I do keep the car long-term it's probably going to get progressively worse and if I you know, if I find them game, the the mirror or sorry, the domestic are fixed. That's gonna cost me a couple
rolls, just get any needs to give it a good armor rolling and hey that's mine. Going to do that because the
stitching come apart or has a torn along the stitching it with, I believe the stitching is car apart.
So hold still and it's a glass rate.
We always is all Plastics class. Yes, of course, it is quite a
bit of weight in that. We know that's it.
Does pull away, okay, I know people will look at it, that sounds like not necessary to go. New top, certainly not at that
money. Yeah, that's me, that's a
primary. If you're doing that, I'll come
with the covid pricing kind of penury off at this point with cars. Saying, I expect the new by if I
do. So it, you know, to Pony up some
part of the three week, as well, as the 3,300 dollars.
Are you seem like a difficult Prospect?
But, you know, I don't intend on telling me, I'd rather I do plan on keeping card. Least for the next few years is
this teaching come away Along the top, all the top of the window or in this section or watch, the girl, just just basically the top and doesn't make it all the way to the corners. So, right across the top of the
window basic as is separated, okay?
Okay, hmm, interesting. So if we know the interior
groomers to do prints could link for you, somebody that's willing to take the risk, the, the heart bigger, the the cheaper way, I'd be very happy about that canoe, but it's, I think we'll where the option, because if I saw me helping me, I think I could, it'll probably take me about two to three days.
To do soft top. Mainly because I'm about a thing
is. Yeah, I think we could do it.
It's yeah, I love the way I would think about it is yes, these people feel it with every day but it's not rocket surgery.
So, you know, I think with a little bit of extra time as my solution, I could possibly make it work.
My biggest fear is having the soft-top halfway through and then be like I can't do this no more.
Let's talk after the show. Scotty, if you Alum will save
you, thank you, good things. I should have the r31 back,
probably tomorrow or the next day or just have a little extra things that he's doing it. So then the front is completely
done, I don't have to think about it, suspension wise or anything. It's all done.
So a couple extra things is doing you.
Put in some new washes for the Sway bar, link bushes.
So, the watches were all worn out and you've got some new ones that was like eight bucks. He's putting in some new bump
stops and stuff covers for the front shocks because I didn't have it and that can be your roadworthy item to.
So you put those in for me, they got the steering rack boots for me. That was not as cheap as I was
hoping but our At least they're on other than me trying to faff about trying to find the right ones.
Because as I was saying last week it was a bit of a head case of different dimensions for the three different type or r31 and I just couldn't get a straight answer.
So there's a better them because since I already had the part they can sit there and measure it I didn't have it so they can measure and match it up and get that done.
So that's all in there are the bushes.
Well I guess pretty much all the bushes that I got the parts for him so he's put those in there and put the new bushes on there.
I got the other came with the grease nipple and everything that we needed in this Earthly. That is all done.
So I have some spare parts. We've been around for another 31
and I'm sure I might be able to sell them for a little bit, but after massive amounts of money, just, you know, a little bit would be good because year with the labor and all of this is Going to cost quite a bit to finish the front so I can get a little bit of that money back. That would be pretty good.
And with this done, are we ready to roadworthy until electrician?
Okay. Yeah so not just yet and if I
have to sort of do the wheel, sort of take that in some way or put the stock he's on and get four new tires for it.
So yeah it's getting there but Be put on, hold a little bit because our house is getting awfully close.
Okay. Thank you, which means there's a
bit of money involved with fencing and Landscaping on concreting around it. Things like that.
Just might get put on the back burner a little bit.
Well, it's very good to hear that.
It's getting very close, got it? Which is, which is good.
Yeah, well I mean it's good to know that everything the whole front end suspension, why? As pushes everything is all
brand-new. So it should feel really nice to
drive. Absolutely feel a lot better
Edward. Hello cars, don't think I've
done anything crazy with cars, still driving the 130i or did reduce price on that. Someone messaged me and said
they wanted for a track car. So like what's your best price
without re joined road with your plates or anything?
And I was like well I just reduced it and you know how close can you get my butt? Does Amar.
Yeah, you know, it's like fill up the me to Tender for your business. I've got something you want.
You tend to for my business with the classic line, I know what I got. I didn't.
I'm just can't really can't be bothered, but I think that's the issue. Wants to hit it with that.
He will definitely come and play ball.
I have something. I want a price for it.
You're interested in that thing. So, is it up to me to grovel and
beg and throw your breath until you come and get my thing really? No, you make me an offer.
And if I say yes or no, Great, you know that's how it rolls.
So cars, still driving 130, the Volkswagen multi van, I did get that check for Roadie. That needs couple of things,
like new shocks, and those didn't need something else.
He shocks Caster bushes are discs and pads.
So, not not a crazy, the lift. But I'll get that done over the
next week or so home discs, who discs.
And I think for this year, I think all for how much were you quoted? Do the like 3 Grand at one point
Of Granny included that know it was about 1,800 front of Maria and then there was another grand in something else Tires Tires for the the three grand that I was quite a bit, it's a bit but that was Factory Volkswagen parts.
You get here aftermath like to think that for the that stuff it needs. I'm you know I two grand or
under you know that's what that's where I typically sort of put that 1502 to somewhere there.
Yeah. And I Don't care if it's
aftermarket discs or aftermarket shocks or that's fine.
But if on exactly so that's the bulk.
See what else I did take the old vintage Caravan away on the weekend for its first first trip.
Since the 1980s I've got to say other than other than just bringing it home from the repair place.
So you know, I went down to gippsland and stayed in it for three days and then Total Home is towed.
Fine. Nothing went wrong.
It all worked. Fell off and on the free way,
it's always been. Surely the me, you know thinking
okay what's going to happen here?
But yeah, it was fine. So that was good.
I many people comment about it in the park.
I did the park was overly busy so I saw people looking at it but no one to talk to me other than the guy who ran the park when I was driving and he's like oh what is that Bubba by he wanted, it was on for chat about it and I filled up with diesel and a lady was riding a bike past the servo and Phillip Island and she she said what years that I had a Nine model.
And while I was four, she had a chat about it and then someone else overtook me and beeped and like, thumbs up.
So I know you get a bit of attention.
Bit of attention. It's not something you see every
day. And yeah, that was fun.
It was fun. But that's, that's about it for
motoring, I think, probably really Ross.
Now, we back on ground, we still electrified, you know, I'm saying? We end up, we in the base model
basement, but we still electrified, Yeah, it's no real update. I've been driving around in the
Mercedes eqv. The van.
It's been good. Picked it up at 700, kazon it
return. It with about 1600 in a week.
And did anybody get a call from him at all?
Did anybody anybody at all? Good of cool different.
Right? Real, I didn't know.
I can't talk, Excursion. No, I'm okay.
It was like a magma. Because I felt guilty I felt
guilt that the reason why Alan got a got a message about a Magna. Because I felt guilty, as I
said, as I said last week, I was very concerned.
I could not sit in my normal cars anymore because of my favorite rapper, saying he could be driven to the police.
So then I had to switch over to Mercedes and I realize that it feels like being in a DB van. Hello, then you are literally
with the police. So then now I'm back into the
vehicles, note. It was it was good.
It was the captain's chairs, were nice, the drive.
It's funny that that regardless of its size, it drives better than most hatchbacks. Well, which I was like what the
hell's Mercedes done here and yeah charge well around?
Real world, 352 380 km of range. Everyone that mainly you know
people from my media family that that got to see it because I most of the time was parked at my work because I'll just slaving away. It's it.
They just loved it. Like the way, it drives all the
comforts, you can think of the chairs, the captain's chair swing around. So you can face the rear
passengers, that's cool. Um has so much luggage space in
the back as well. And yeah, we're all hoping the
best best electric mercedes' and Mercedes cells in Australia, which is a lot because it's a van with it's it's what it is, you know, I'm saying? So anyone looking for ethical
tourism ethical movement of people?
You know, it's all the big corporates with their sustainability targets and the rest ring ring your homeboy or is he met? He may have had the Mercedes
last week next week, it's going to be the Kia.
E Nero. Okay.
Before the high-end ionic five before the wall, will see 40.
Hmm. So but yeah, it's it's it was
good. I was very happy with the way
that van drove had all band, The the infotainment system was quite good. It works every time and yeah,
looking forward to the be near a little bit more closer to the 70,000 price Mark compared to the 150 plus.
This Mercedes van was on the same as doing a commercial variant of that. Not here yet.
No I know Ford's got the E Transit that I only found out there's one running around being tested but not not officially just yet for Mercedes in Australia.
Sorry R is yeah he getting like the the Mercedes E QE and that AMG ones coming because I saw it at the Bathurst 12 hours L displaying it in things but I did I missed out if they'll talking about if we're getting any time soon or anything like that they just had it sitting there.
No your homeboy tried to get into one dr.
Allen deep seeing you may possibly be offended by this as well but the Mercedes-Benz at their dealerships.
I put a pigments Saw doesn't allow you to unlock its doors, unless your yellow or white. I tried and I tried to get into
one, the doors. Wouldn't the handles wouldn't
present themselves like a model S walked up to it with the salesperson, it did it. So all I was doing was standing
around the vehicle where there were another 20 sales people that wouldn't even talk to me, which is all good because, you know, we blend in in the middle of the day.
But yeah, that apparently they haven't done an official launch Scotty. They will do one in March, but
they've got the first batch already looking at the V facts, they apparently registered 14 of them.
So there's not many of them running around in January so I think the main shipment comes this month and all of that was sold out as well, but the starting price is like 180 Grand plus and it doesn't look that good in person, mmm, even even In pictures. Like, when I was seeing it on
TV, I didn't really like the look of it either.
They, they also had the e-tron I think at the pride of our races, well, the Audi e-tron apparently, it's at some sort of a lap record there that was, that was cool.
But yeah, nothing with EQ is yet, but I'll keep you posted.
I think the launch is next month, okay?
Should be interesting. Moving on to me, they all go
just combined my And with, with small forward Sunday, which I went to on Sunday that the one that just just passed, always really good event. We are my took two cars this
year. I took the laser and I took the
fiesta and I wanted to park them together, but they're like, no, you got to segregate. So you're going to park lasers
with lasers and, and Fiestas with fiestas and my God righto.
So, I took the fiesta to the fears, the section laser went to the later section, but it was the 30 years of the end of t x 3. So that's why.
It was a special laser. Addition this year.
So it was all about all about the laser takes three, and there's a few really nice ones there, but they always get some really, really cool and nice little cars are that?
You don't really see quite often anymore.
You know, like you get you your Rangers f as and things like that, but you know, me, I'm a laser guide.
There was plenty of lasers to look at which is, which is, which always makes for good for the group for good entertainments now. Edward, you remember that red
laser is there we saw that time. They're really nice one there.
Yeah, that was there again but it was even Mentor than it was last time and it looked stunning that car won first prize for for the laser was the KB Special K. Be the KB sport.
Okay vs as Ruth says lasers, I like Andy amazed absolutely.
They are what had been done to it?
Had it been repainted or something.
I think it's had the bumpers done because I do I remove them last time was a bit. Was we are you doing?
But it this thing looked meant deceitful means out.
It was just, it was like a tomcat.
It was perfect, like, he opened the boot and all the, all the toolkits and everything were there.
But they also had like two cars down from that a Casey meteor, which was like it was what rolled off the factory floor.
It was outstanding the same color red.
This thing was super nice. Like it was I'll find you guys a
picture. It was so many cases on that.
I didn't get to see inside of it.
I didn't get to see the dashboard, but I saw like the rest of the car. It looked Beautiful.
The in the engine bay detailing was perfect.
It looked as I said it looked like the car read, you know, or restored. I don't know if it was restored
or not, but it looked really like, it looked really good.
I don't know if it had pain but the engine bay looked like it was really been driven this car. So it was stunning and across
the road from. That was a tx5 turbo which won
first prize for telstar's because it was it was owned by this like 95 year old man. That was there.
He's Had it since it was new. It was that was that white?
It was red. Hey, it's really.
And I was like, I was like, this is had to have had pain.
He's and then it was like had like this virtually, not as not a mark on it. It was super clean.
So this shape the, the 80s one now, the second shop like your mom's shape. Oh yeah.
Like like late 80s. Early 90s.
Yeah correct. Yep.
So I'll find you some pictures of those because they were absolutely outstanding like, they were those, those three cars in particular, we just Unreal, like I couldn't but I could not believe how how nice they were.
So, I do so with those three cars.
All once, and the media on the media plays upon the laser hit his, the media, I'll show you guys a picture, but like, it looked just outside outstanding, she clean.
It was beautiful. I mean, if they were not nice,
it was just so nice. There was let me go through.
I'll show you the tx5. I did.
See a photo of a rear Capricorn. Blue K, if laser KH, KH was,
there was only 25 of those made in that in that in those two, that those do that there was going, that's amazing.
Yeah, one that was like fully restored with with a bit more power, put into it. And another one was just a bond
fund, which he found in. Yeah, he offered it to me for
sale for a reasonable price, but it needs a needle and it needs foot like a full paint job and and everything, but it's all there. He's got the original stereo
original labeling it, It's just some 300,000 cases, but four-wheel drive turbo. It's the right car.
Just yeah. I was like oh if I had the money
I would I would have be tempted but it was.
Yeah. In that color I'll show you the
show. The picture of that one.
Once that gets that comes up. If you asked to do swaps for the
LTD, Well, speaking with the guy he's like Ford Sunday, not small. Fordson my bad.
He was like to me what we got, we got talking about a few cars and things in any and he was saying to me how how he just finds takes 3 turbos, restores them and put them back on the road and seldom. So here's his tax returns were
the ones that were in in unique cars.
Lastly, that the K at the KE, ke ke full drive.
Toby wasn't that was the unique car.
One and, like, after that, it's old but he's got he's got like four, four, other ones at home and so.
But I remember this armor the blue one because it came up for sale and he stepped up real quick as it was gone like within a couple hours after it was after was put online.
But that kind of particular was just super nice.
Like it was just, it was Tiny. So here's the reason, the red K
KB just just just for Just For Your Eyes guys really clean or that is so clean headline. Protectors in defectors Wind of
everything. It was it was meant like it was
stunning and of course that car and what, we're not announcing the, the awards at the end. It was like and no surprise to
winning the like the best laser a half of the time is is this laughs? I'm like yeah, that makes sense,
it's Immaculate like you could eat off that kind of like I do people say that as a, as an all-you-can-eat up exactly.
But this car legit was that clean.
Here gentleman is the tea x50 That model with the two-tone.
They always look so smart in red.
They did, they did not the original wheels, and I was like, I was a bit if you about the wheels but it was, it was still a really nice example. Shank is the snowflake wheels
on. Those were really nice.
I did like the original wheels are nice, but yeah, that car was just stunning. Like there was just some really
really nice cars there. My friend end up selling his
laser takes three there. So he's going to take 300 K E
which is that one. There he is.
It up selling it on the day, how much you get for it?
You got 11 grand for it and and the lady that bought it we have considering you pay 2 Grand for it.
Oh holy shit up and fitted, a new exhaust and be a bit of Turbo and things and get the lady.
But the lady that bought it, she went up to him says this car for sound he's like yeah, she was like, I had a white one, I'm going to buy it and then your price is like, well, okay.
What if anyone he's like, I should have said more because he just he just bought a VP Commodore SS.
Like I like in the button in luck in some some backyard that was that was nowhere near found but basically yeah it was pretty rare car IRS car and everything. So so he's like I need a fund
that is like only a foreigner dollars in my account right now because I've just paid for that. So he was like, I'm a bit sad to
see the texture ego, but really, really good.
But however, it's as you guys might know, it is the second biggest small forward show outside of the UK.
So it's the UK and then it's us essentially like that that says, how much we like our small forwards here in Australia there I had to Capri section for the European capris and the convertible capris, or some really nice mint capris there.
I think the one that one was a really nice club Sprint Capri, turbo, do that? Well that was nice.
You had your really nice selection of escorts and it's got panel Vans and and things like like that that we just super cool like really cool cars.
He had you obviously are S's and Etc but I was the only laser sr2 there and I was the only mean green Fiesta ST there which is which was which was kind of cool.
Because I ended up winning best Fiesta of the day which is kind of cool. Well done.
So some again what are you considering its brand-new.
Yeah, well, another one and I will ya.
I felt bad. I was like, I don't think I
should win because of some like highly modified ones and really nice ones there. And they're like, it's not a
concourse, it's a show and shine.
And if you because they know it's like, it's how well you present your car on the day and they're like, we look for like the little bit of dirt in the, in the, in the wheel wells and stuff like that. And I clean up Chuckling.
Oh my god, when I watch the car, do I do it all properly?
They're like, they're like we couldn't fault.
It was pretty damn good. But then, the guy was will
review in my car. I got virtually 20s for
everything except for the body, which I had to.
Because I had the stones you, but I didn't put touch-up paint, right? They gave me an 18 for that, but
it was like, the, the guys were judge.
My kind is guy behind me was like, oh, there's another Mark there. You just showing, I'm like, why
are you doing, like, like go away from work hard pay like, so, and it made their with the texture is like, like this guy's an idiot, like you. Shouldn't.
You shouldn't have said anything.
Oh, my god. Well, do it didn't bother me.
But when I said my name at the Anasazi, I actually laughed a lot, like you're not serious, but so yeah.
That was pretty cool. So, yeah, and David, take me in
a picture today or group of pictures of the asari, which was, which was from small for day.
But overall, a really, really great.
Great day met a few people I've met before bumped into some new people made it but a couple new friends.
So, yeah, a really kind of nice way to spend your Sunday early afternoon and, you know, going Going into what morning and morning and afternoon. So that was a great day so I was
overall pretty happy with that. And yeah.
So that was small for Sunday. Very good.
Moving on to Scotty. Now Scotty we've seen that Ford
has decided to rejoin Formula One.
Yeah. So that's some big news.
Supposedly. There had been some rumors for a
little bit as the contract with Honda is coming to an end that ends in 2025. So you were unsure if they're
going to stick with Honda to make the engines or anything like that. But yeah, Ford is jumping on
board with, with Red Bull Racing to take over little bit sad with Honda, but I hope Honda will do something.
Either make continue making engines for someone else, or maybe they'll jump on board and start racing and have Honda racing back, maybe if they can find it in their budgets, But yeah, it's huge to have Ford on board, there's going to be a quite a few changes coming in 2026 when it comes to the power trains and things like that. So yeah, you'll have for jumping
on board. Audi is jumping on board in 2026
also. So I've got a few different
manufacturers to create some of these engines because lately you know over the past few years it's just been Mercedes Ferrari and Renault. Hmm.
Not so they've been pretty much. That's that's it.
You could be a brand new team but they're your choice of engines that you could run. No one else made anything else,
so it's just good to see some more, some more Ingenuity going into it. You know, there's so much that
comes into formula one that trickles down into your everyday car. It's good, the fort's jumping on
board, putting the Some money into this, you know, because you know likely they've pulled out quite a lot of their hot models that they've been producing and you start to think what is all we're going to get is just Ford ranges cruising around their wrists and that's it, you know, well I was with us today and we drove past the Ford dealership. I wanted to have risk, we saw
quite a few different varieties. I think ranges ranges and
ranges. Yeah, pretty much end and they
had a couple More Rangers and shock and horror more ages.
So that is all they had in the dealership.
That was all I had parked at the front back then the side that was it. So Ford think they're going to
survive on one car. Good luck to you Ford that's all
I'm going to say. Wow it looks like they're just
pushing all their ranges sales money into engines for Formula One for Red Bulls. So I think it's going to be very
interesting you know because Red Bull want the best Obviously and they've won two Constructors championships with Honda so far.
And yeah, it's going to be all all new engine designs because they want to try and get more more manufacturers on board to create these engines and yet, because as I said, it's just being pretty, pretty quiet on the engine front.
When the new hybrids came in. Well, I'm not gonna lie, squeeze
only interrupt you there. I'm not going to lie.
It's a big. It's a pretty big move.
Got like, Honda's trident. Filming for this to be an
informal, 14 years like that, you know, with the with there are eight and stuff but now it's like they've been worked with that. We've been working with, Honda
Honda has been doing good things and they're just kind of step away. So it's hot.
It's hot. It's hot.
As going to just leave the sport or are they going to keep going in this book? Because it'd be a shame if on
the goes. Yeah I don't know yet unless
someone else is going to pick up and run their engines but at the moment it's just Ford will be running the Red Bull Racing and the alpha Tory at the Moment. Okay, so because they're the
ones that Honda has been running at the moment.
So they will be going to those two manufacturers.
Other than that, I mean, Ferrari still at their Ferrari, Mercedes runs. Well, I think Mercedes engines
are actually very, very popular. So I think the Williams teams
around them. Yeah, quite a few of the teams
are running Mercedes engines but I think to have that more of an option will open the field a lot more but I guess it will probably even itself out because every manufacturer will be starting fresh with this. So it's not like forward to
jumping on board, 34 years behind because it's all going to be new. So everyone's going to have
reliability issues to begin with and things like that, but it was probably will end up having less reliability issues because of some of the things actually taking out.
So you don't have the some of the electronic devices in there.
Remove the mgu system is all going out.
It looks good on paper and sounds good but in just a lot of reliability issues of them breaking down and there goes about, you know, 200 extra horsepower gone out of your car, no point racing anymore out there so you got to pretty much dnf that because you can't keep up.
You know, that's huge amount of power dropped off when that system fails So, I think it's gonna be really, really interesting. They would have you heard
anything obviously. Being the Honda Aficionado, they
have they like, from what you've heard in your, in your, your land have? They is there any announcement
to or any Rumblings that they might continue?
Because it'll be a shame because Han has been a big part of formula one like that. They are Japanese Formula 1.
If you ask me, I'm in Toyotas had a double but they didn't really do too well. But Honda I've been there and
they've won and have been successful and it would be a shame for them just to walk away.
Like I don't Don't, I seriously don't know how Ford got the contract and got in got into bed, with, with Red Bull if if, if Honda was doing so well. Hmm.
It's interesting. It seems, well, I'm not the the
closest followers formula one. I mean, I enjoy it.
When I, when I, when I do, but over the years, Honda has been quite cycling in the way it approaches Formula One.
It's thrown everything at it and go since the 60s, When it's Grand Prix, it makes the code. I mean, obviously the late 80s
mid to late 80s. It totally dominated as a
manufacturer and an engine supplier and then it was almost like that done. They don't know about set out to
do and then they sort of step back a bit and then they focus on hybrid and all those sorts of that.
They had a lot of, they channeled a lot of resources into hydrogen back in the mid to late 2000s as well, which looks like it might be coming back again and then they dead dead.
Their toe, drop their toe in the water again and have another go sort of thing. So I think it's just, I think
the short answer your questions. No, I haven't heard anything
inside. I'm not that closely connected
to that side of it, but I think I can't see them walking away completely. But I would, it wouldn't
surprise me if they take. Lower profile for a couple of
bees. And then look at, yo, coming in,
like in with the changes that are coming through in 2026, as far as all the hybrid technology and that sort of stuff, I mean, they're obviously I've been developing that away from the track. Obviously, for many years, it
would be a shame if they do slip away because it's obviously a great test bed for stuff that filters down to the car lines.
And that's that's happened. All along a lot of the
developments that started the in Formula One.
One to sort of come down into the end of the range of cars, you can buy and drive on the road.
So, yeah, it would be a shame if they stepped away completely, but I can't see that happening. I I think it's too important on
the international stage to not have some involvement.
I think it'll be interesting to see what's happening with with Honda as well. But like again the at these
other manufacturers because it because it's been talked about Portia, talk about Audi but how they lay back down now or they committed to go because like there was they were the people that were pretty much going into into bed.
Everybody in the nail. They just kind of just fought
out of nowhere. Just said no, we're going to
work with Red Bull? I was like, what?
Like when did that when they don't even happened?
Yeah, I mean, that is going forward.
Having them just blew my mind. I wasn't expecting for it to be
coming, back in in Formula one's of anything, you know, I thought they would be looking at other Motorsport before they'd be looking at formula one, but I guess they just want to get their name out there, a little bit more, especially around some some of the Motorsport. Art, which is, I think, is going
to be grateful, and be a really solid off water, Rose more than go by Ranger circuitry. Well, yeah, I mean, that's the
main reason I were talking about this just earlier will like, you know, they're they're going in the formula one and they're doing all these things. And, but then, you got to
dealership. What do you got Ranger?
You know, that's your Ranger Everest, the new Mustang, but like, the getting rid of the affordable, you know, fun cars, which which, which Ford made And butter.
And as we've discussed, you know, before with the you know, hot hatches and the like so it'll be interesting to see what they do because obviously like Ford's I do they've got like a bit of a revitalization for racing, like they're there in virtually every form of racing and I think for I think for me alone would just pretty much bigger tip of the iceberg there.
In rallying their in NASCAR they're in they're in supercars, you know, they're they're in you name it, they're in an essentially at this point and now I know they're like well as will hit the big time and get it for me.
The line again. So the fact that they've done
that it's quite quite interesting, it's kind of like a full-fledged approach but despite them there, they're road cars. Kind of just being there's that
being reduced their like they're putting all their eggs in the one basket racing which is which is great because like I love all of murderers. You got any Motor Racing is
awesome? But you know as you were saying
sorry Motor Racing transitions down from Motor Racing to to people's you know everyday cars and a Honda has been doing that for has been doing a lot of these companies be doing that but As Alan said, you're going to go.
Yeah, I want to get a performance Formula 1 tuned poured Ranger and it's just got like a formula one badge on the side. I'd feel guilty about have
driving the car, be like no this is not for me, they've got nothing to do with Formula 1. Yeah, it's big news for Formula
One to have a company like that because usually all the Euro ones just to add on there, from what I can tell, there's going to be no Porsche Is that were in talks with Red Bull to begin with. I thought for sure I was going
to go with them but no but you'll still have Audi because they're joining with Sal bus. Hmm.
So yes, Alba still going to have our D but here from looks of it.
I don't think Porsche are going to be there.
I would it's just I just follow really just I just want a really interesting that there was so much talk about 10 min and Ford's coming in and out of that of the bloom like oh you what?
We'll do it. So Yeah good.
I remember kind of reading about it but I just blew it off because I was like yeah it's just someone talking nonsense we're trying to start something. So you not thinking much you
just assuming they're either going to sign a new deal with Honda or you know there's big talks with portion is like a the pulling of Porsche or something. But yeah Mark whoever dropped
that story first and started that then our on the money one report I read said that Porsche wanted far too much control.
All Red Bull would not want that.
No, no way. But Porsche is our brand of
their own now, and they like their IPO do I think.
So, they on the stock market, I'm pretty sure as their own little brand or walks wagon, was trying to get rid of them.
Oh, really okay? Yeah, pretty sure the IPO
recently as well. So there's this sort of a
separate entry entity from Um, I like sort of separated from the walks back and prove now and just on the Ford stuff, previously Siesta was the 10th best selling car in the UK, in January, and they're finishing it off and there's no more at the end at the end of June. So yeah, yeah.
Welcome to welcome to 2023. Really Ross could have made
awesome little electric versions of it.
Yeah, they could have, but they had everything.
And the irony behind That is where they were making the focus and stuff. I think we spoke about it on the
show. Now they're trying to sell that
plan to byd in Germany who are probably going to be making electric cars in it anyway because switch, we will tour in the cars as well as always today.
Like the fact that all these companies are, you know, they kind of all we can't build cars fast enough.
We can build cars fast enough. We can build a Bronco.
We can't build Ranger. We can build all this fast
enough yet. This shutting a plant and
Showing it, it just, it's like, well, you doing.
It is shooting yourself in the foot at this point, so don't you? Got no one to blame, but
yourself you can't buy in the semiconductor shortage for like 10 years later. Well, this is the funny part
about it, right? Like what the shift in the
automotive industry, now people kept talking about like you know Tesla's were made in China that used to go to Europe and Germans were all op about that. Now tests are made in Germany so
they can't really Europe. They can't really say much about
the fact that their child He's paid the same with all the Chinese Brands once they're made in the, in the, on the continent using forward and others factories that could have done you. No good with the products.
I guess nobody would have anything to complain about.
They won't be there won't be Chinese companies.
They'll be I guess you know, german-built be wide he's built by Germans for Germans you know. Absolutely it's just yeah I mean
it's weird like hey hey I do you know, much of the it much of an electric car person as as uses but, but obviously with with The Changing of the Guard in terms of like everything going electric, where do you kind of see yourself like would you consider buying Lottery kind of like knowing knowing that you kind of you kind of you kind of really limited with, with only, like, kind of like foot five or six brands that actually consider consolidating to electric?
Or are you going to wait? Would you be the type of person
to wait? Look, I'm but don't get me
wrong, though. God?
On pretty. The future is exciting.
You know what I mean? It's different, its new.
The Ford Marquis had me pretty excited Williams, I doubt it.
And by all accounts, you know, everyone's pretty hot and everyone that owns one is pretty excited about it.
There is a shame that we never see one the old and I don't know. Like I don't particularly like,
our current selection, I'd like to see more I mean it's going to be a long way into the future before I'm looking at anything like that. I'm probably going to be one of
those dinosaurs battle by the last the last car sort of Bill hold on for the next 20 years element.
So it'll be, it'll be on my deathbed that I'm sort of looking at electric. I think that's it.
Got the best not to say I'm against it, I just stopped.
Like I said, it's pretty exciting.
I'm an electrician. So, there you go.
It's definitely a Way Forward. I don't think it is the way
forward currently, especially not for us.
In Australia. We have far too much distance to
cover. In our cities and all that sort
of gear, for sure. You know, I'm all about it.
It makes sense. But you look at the, the issues
that they're having with the the infrastructure in the states and you just looking at something like California, they're struggling. You know what I mean?
And there that they're talking about travels from caliph, like LA to Vegas is a four out of four and a half hour trip.
I mean, we're talking about the distance, the distance between Sydney and Melbourne, which is double that easily.
So we're now talk we're now taking that trip and essentially more than doubling the time, it's going to take and it's almost an overnight Affair just to just to drive there now.
So, I don't know. It's an interesting time.
I think we will catch up. It's just a matter of time.
Well, as I was saying the ribs, like there's only rule for, like, for me in my eyes 5 min. Manufacturers that are doing
electric stuff here, in Australian particular to byd, Tesla Kia and Hyundai with with their with their range which actually quite quite exciting and pole star and Volvo.
Like everybody else is just like, we're not gonna do anything like, like for think they're going to survive on Ranger. We just just by itself.
I think I mentioned, I think, I mentioned a few weeks ago, they sold 68,000 cars last year in Australia and like 58 of them, fifty eight thousand of them were Ranger Ranger, which is just, which is just nuts, right? So I can't include Mercedes-Benz
Maddie in that week there alphabetical, like, selection of electric cars. Now, correct, and one BMW to be
fair again for like your average consumer, that kind of Ford 150 ton and that's right 180 thousand dollar van like like like was driving today. And now now he's back in here,
in there is McBeal. It's, you know, it's, it's
companies like that, like, it makes noises like when wrote when I bought the Zoe here. I was like right car run.
Time. If you know what I mean?
Cause like that they brought Dianna was like, yeah, it's exciting to smaller City. Electric City Car, like the same
thing with the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and, and meow.
Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, it's just, it's just like
use 180 on Grey's online, evident all that much.
How much it was up to for nearly 40 Grand today?
Well, that's better than 80. Weren't they bring in the
middle? Open twice as good as 80.
Or were you do almost have that 440?
Well for some reason it has Renault sport seats in it which is that's it. Ted Lewis.
I need take over the podcast down a rabbit hole, well, I guess kind of watch this space and see what's happening there but yeah it'll be interesting that that the technology from these companies are you know from like writing as you were saying sort of feeding down, but I guess we will have to see white on the future. Speaking of speaking of cars and
seats David, I also wanted to add this in a friend of mine, just bought a brand new Tiguan are and he sold his listener of the show. Oh, hi Alex.
How you doing? And he just traded in his RT on.
For he had an Artesian, our line for for this Tijuana.
And after about a week of ownership, he hates it.
He's like the seats are horrendous.
Like he's like he's like I cannot go more than like a little bit of time without my back.
Absolutely. Just being with my, he's like, I
don't know why they just put the standard flat seats in there.
He's I don't know why they didn't put like the T, 1 seed, like so the team. Like, they're like the Golf R
seats. Although even the audience
eighties, he's always liked and you spending well over 80 grand for this car and it is like everything else about.
It's great. You like two seats, no bueno.
So apparently he's not the only one has been a few people saying, why would they put D seats in his car?
Like this is, this is just ridiculous.
So yeah, we've got a happy customer VW if you're if you're listening. I just another interesting step,
just before we go to electric cars.
I saw someone Post in the last couple, Of days that they were actually more electric cars than manual cars.
Sold lots of last month. So the menu will give Danielle's
not a lot of manuals anymore. That says, all you need to know
about where we're going as a society doesn't exactly.
So, but look, I mean, it's funny like Chris was talking about the like you were saying earlier heat about the the Marquee, right? And, you know, like It's gotten
great reviews. It's by all accounts of really,
really good car, but I think we do you think for losing money on every single one they make. Yeah, so that's an interesting
one. This is actually come out.
Straight out of the, for CEOs mouth at the end of last quarter's earnings call, which happened.
I think, last week, he basically said on every electric car, we sell, we're losing money, and there's no path to profitability until 2026. Well, that's, that's a big
statement for it. Is one of the companies that's
supposed to be the own. One of the only big companies
that supposed to move towards electrification with the Marquis and the F-150. The other thing he said was they
didn't realize that the wiring harnesses and looms inside the car, are 1 Point 3 km longer than they need to be okay, it's not efficient. He also said that they didn't
realize when they were Signing the maquis that aerodynamics play a big role in an electric car.
So, I don't understand why they're trying to go in Formula One. When they don't understand the
basics of aerodynamics, you're trying to learn.
Well, that's what they're doing. And his last little bit for all
of us when they were developing the Mustang Marquis.
Now, they realize that the braking system and that should be more reliant on the motors regenerative braking than the normal brakes. Which is causing them headaches
because the brake pads and stuff of airing out quicker than it needs to be. So basically the openly come and
said they're written off the Marquis as, as any sort of a castle. What would that say about their
F-150 lineup? So yeah, it's going to be
interesting times. They've got a lot of learning to
do but I think they're big enough and resourceful enough to do it. Well, we'll have to watch this
space. I think there is because it's
going to be very, very interesting.
Tonight's last topic before we get into, cryptic cars with Scotty was, the bath is 12 hour. Which happens over the weekend,
it closer to your end of the world, Heath being a new South Beltran, it's house really. A lot of the commons.
Everyone's like this. It's the same 50 cars and other
than doing it every single year, but the Racing's really good and it's always good. And I'm a big fan of the 12 hour
because it's your pushes, you know, cars to the Limit and I think that was it, that GTR, that would modify GTR, and on the weekend, Scotty, that was going that did like three hundred and twenty something case down the the that was actually a gtst obvious to you. Okay?
Originally. Yeah, so I think that's been
Talk of the Town apart from the actual GT3 cars, because I didn't really know much about that series.
It's the sedan racing series or something, and you've got there, Some GTRs in there, there's some Evo's, their ex VH supercars in the mix. It was an awesome field of cars
and then you know, there was a Mustang there to that was pretty much right up there. Second place.
It was pretty interesting but then you've got this as from what I read and amateur racer. With their company and put
together this through to GDs tea with like eleven hundred and fifty horsepower. It was doing 322 kilometers an
hour down Congress track and making insane times around the track. Like just off its head, I got to
watch a little bit of it because unfortunately across the top of the mountain, they did hit the wall, the does it Look like it's going to come back again. This car motor sport Australia
of kind of contacted them. Not sure what was said, but it
sounds like the owners thinking of putting it back together and having it as like a display in their workshop, which is kind of sad because this thing was insane, the amount of power, it was hammering around the Straits didn't handle as well.
A top, the Mustang would catch up again and then as soon as he can, It straight, you just like gone and, you know, hats off to the Mustang as well, in second wall eventually.
In first place, it was creating a huge lead over the rest.
You know, like there's 12 seconds in front in, you know, after a couple laps pulling away so it was very, very fast itself. I think they'll saying about 600
or something or more horsepower or something.
Out of that thing. Compared to the rest of the
field was just pulling away. But yeah, it was very, very
interesting to watch it was some great cars would have been good to see it there in person to see all those different cars because they'll kind of just keeping an eye on on the Mustang.
Really once the Mustang was there they'll just kind of showing that one after that and not what was really happening down in the lower parts of the field which would have been a lot more interesting There was, what was it?
I have to double-check it, but had a rotary in it and it was it made up 30-odd spaces race. It was absolutely hammering but
he had a problem towards the end and had to pretty much pull out.
How to stop the whole engine and try and restart and get it going again. I'll see if I can double-check
it anyway. But I was like, oh God, that
thing's awesome. How how ridiculous that Skyline
was so dark. That was doing almost V8,
Supercar times, drown drown baathist, which is just yes, yes it was making more than they do down the straights V8 Supercars usually get close to 300. Kilometres an hour at times in
race trim. Probably not as close as that
probably not close to 300 but yeah.
You know, but my goodness that's in was a rocket ship.
Yeah. Yeah, I was just blown away.
What shall she? Nothing that he was nuts.
So, mad props to the guys, hope that, hopefully, they can get it back in back on the track, where that car ride looks to be belongs Joanne. It is not time for cryptic cars
with Scotty Scotty. It is your time to fool us.
How would you say it? Edward, would you say it as be?
Cryptic, I mean equipped to get the Would we use?
Yeah. He you know it's basically it's
basically, you know, how would you describe a Scotty?
It's, it's random words, put together that give you clues for an actual car. Yeah, pretty much northward.
It's not too good. Yeah, I mean so descriptives.
Yeah, I don't know. No and I throw in some car
movies in there too. Sometimes also Be good.
I'll give you an example. A normal crossword might have a
three-letter word for a common domestic pet, you know, it could be cat. A cryptic version of that clue
could be. I sat on the mat via dr.
Seuss, something like that. And you go, well done.
Well Scotty I'm keeping score. You're ready to go.
So he think of you, I don't think you've quite cryptic as you played the quiz, but you haven't.
I haven't played this. I don't know.
I've never heard of this. You're very comfortable with one
of these because of my description of yeah, that was great. Thank you.
I'm like, In case I don't answer, I'll just sit this one out, but I'm not the answer. You must do it quickly and works
with. I got a couple Honda's cool,
jumps into movies. I got a Mercedes in here.
I've got Nissen, give too much away.
I'm just the runway. Just the start.
They're just so, you know, just to whet your whistle.
No. Make sure whistle whistle.
All right, let's get started shining to question.
Noun 1, a Honda aeronaut Ed Ed on the Arrow deck.
No, I was going to say that it would.
So that's you saved me that here.
I just thought of that David. Honda Odyssey.
Not Odyssey. Good guess though.
Well, thanks I guess when an aeronaut who would be an aeronaut Iceman. Oh but you know, if your
Spaceman on this Pacey motor scooter, now if your Spaceman, someone's got to fly it. But in the hundreds make Jetts,
so it's a car from shit, man. Cheese.
Matthew, Matthew be Legend. Nah.
Nah, nah, really kind of people. These people are Captain risen
and Heath the balls in your court.
Yeah, you might win this. But a pilot is it nailed it?
No. It's an issue in the States.
Oh, fuck. All 50 states.
I like a bit of a mix. Really Scott, fine, who like
this? Honda one next to sadly, I'm old
enough that when the original artists, he was advertised it.
Dad a Spaceman. I was like, haha, his life, the
final frontier. I've you're overthinking, nice
space. You see?
I see and I said the Spacey mostly the scooter.
What? I do say, hey, it's like all
want to sit this one out and now he is on the board.
A chick. Would you like everybody else
10. So he threw winning and that's
it. That's the end of the quiz.
Okay, question to a Honda myth. David and David that would be
Legend. Surely.
As to gets that is yes. Yeah, well done.
Yes. When you said it before adults
like or that's okay. Question number three, this is
our first movie one. You gotta have to be quick
because, yeah, that's all I'll say.
Question, three disappeared in a minute.
Matthew, yeah. Gone in 60 Seconds.
Yes, Father. I was very cryptic, of course.
Okay, question for, I can't remember if I did this on before or not, but I had a flicker. But I feel like I did anyway.
A Nissen guard. Listen God, or and Nixon said
fight Patrol. Yes.
And isn't it? That one pretty soon.
Question, 5 and Mercedes Runner David David?
Let me just have a little think I'm going to veto but not edit.
Edit, edit printer. Yes, I think David and he
couldn't come up with the goods. I was like, the main man.
Eight the mouth. You know I'm saying?
Thank you is, thank you. I don't want him to mock me
after work. Ha ha ha.
All right, that means that moves into question number six, which is another car movie. So you need to think of two
words that need to be replaced with the correct ones.
The movie title is hazy and the Raider.
Matthew diesel, quit smoking in the Bandit.
Hang on. Why is it Bandit a raid up?
A Raider as in someone raiding. Something about raider is a
bandit. This one's for two points
because I reckon this one is pretty tricky unless I don't know unless you know your medieval weapons but it is a question. Seven is a TVR battle-axe.
I did after you David Tu Mera. No.
Unfortunately, Matthew, Matthew cigarettes Yeah, I don't know if it's been else like sagaris or Sakura sore but yeah you're right. Yeah.
Back in the medieval times it was like a type of battle axe I used to use hmm on the horses and stuff.
So yeah I like that just today. All right guys let's not give
you just a heads up for a score. Check.
There is zero and Heath and David won it into him.
Guess who's winning? Gentleman?
Myself just winning. That's the one.
What do you want? Three for three on three.
All right. All right, question. 8 is a
Toyota promised land or you could say heaven or kingdom?
Come or eternity. They all they all mean.
The same thing for Toyota. She's so was Toyota Kingdom.
Camels, yellow, promised, land, or heaven?
Or eternity. David.
David is a bit of a guess. Is that the Avalon?
Yeah, it Well, I will mean or being that all the same.
Yeah, which I thought pretty pretty.
Big big words for a pretty plain car.
It's really is. Yeah.
And then I want to go to hell. Yeah.
Here. I was thinking Camry.
Couldn't possibly mean all those things.
You'd be right. It's more like not heaven, but
how what's one? They call them in purgatory,
Purgatory, Avalon's. More like Purgatory.
I think you need to step up from a Toyota Starlet.
Life addition to, or Toyota Avalon.
Absolutely. Because you because you, because
you'll be like, well, you know, at least, I'm at least we'll have some power to get out of my own.
Well, it's a funny story about one guy.
I got to know through through right now, he's another mechanic. He he he bought Is Avalon with a
blown motor off a fold couple. He's wanted to get rid of he
painted like 300 bucks for it. And the motor still had a bit of
go left. But the man, it was cooked was
puffing smoke one of his one of his apprentices had like a vvy Commodore wagon and he's is talking about how quick it was and he's like I'll show him. So you raised in a back street
with the in Mexico obviously with the other line and the Avalon one with a blown motor. Yeah, the guy didn't really
Wasn't happy. Put it that way after after his
loss. But anyway, a depressing,
getting getting beaten by blown Evelyn.
Yeah, that's pretty funny. He's like, it was like mine you
when I finish the race. The thing was overheated like
crazy because they had blown head gasket.
The the thing was cooked but he's like, it's still won the race so he was happy as important part.
Yeah. Question 9 is another movie.
And you just just one word. Hurry no.
Thank you. David got in there speed.
No, not speed. Good.
Guess that's what I was gonna guess.
It's got to be a car, doesn't it?
It's not based on a movie by Matthew.
Matthew, Matthew Rush? Yeah, it was a rush.
Rush is a, what it's a movie based on what color is it.
No question. It's a car movie is a comedy.
We place another was a Toyota Echo rush.
I think it was your in Luck's gone.
But yeah, speed was about buses. Wasn't it on the truck?
So sorry, David, it was about cruise, liners, cruise control.
If you remember, if you remember correctly, 50 miles an hour, I think Sandra Bullock and then they thought they do a number two. Well yeah.
The cruise liner didn't go too. Well, didn't go to.
It's about time, they made it, made it and bring a comeback actually, they've done it. Everything else.
Why not? I always remember where I was
when I saw that first speed with Keanu and Sandra.
I was at chadstone shopping center because we got dropped off in my mum's Messier 66 turbo, which, which is like that tells day you showed us the format and dad picked us up and well I can't. Where's mom is like mums at
home? Not well, because there are 66
turbo had been T-Bone coming out of chadstone stunningly hole.
And you're quite bad accident, correct?
The engine block in the end of rope car off completely.
It's like Ah, that's why Mom's not picking us up.
So because of the car and the incident, I remember very well seeing speed at the cinema. Yeah.
You would've been a very depressed man off that was glad that my family was alive but I was yeah, it's sad to see them as to go because I like that car.
Okay. Hmm.
I'm thinking the new speed should be based on a Tesla truck run by Skynet will go. All right.
With, with Rick Ross, running from the cops because it'll take him to the to the police. Yes, that's that's like the Side
Story that's happening at the moment.
Howard by Skynet is taking him to the police station.
All right? That leads us to question number
10, I like to throw a Plymouth in there and I've done it again.
It is too. Two words that you need to
decipher to get the name of this vehicle is the Plymouth magnificent foul foul as in f0w. Edmond Firebird.
No, not favorite bird David oh, magnificent fail, Superbird, yeah, Super Bra. Yeah, that would have been
telling me wrong. The school Heath one, it to
David three and tonight your Winner Is Yours.
Truly myself. Thank you.
Want to know the best Ford Fiesta in all of Australia but also God is cryptic Imports coming in one ticket for you, make this way. Oh yeah, I would too.

and put all our money on black. And as I say, I am, let's say
it's like a show when. Yeah, sure, absolutely sure we'd
pull in. No, thanks for the doing cryptic
arts career. That's always good.

change from the from the usual quiz that we do on the show General. I think that's a podcast, lovely
Heath. Lovely for you to join us again.

What do you got planned? Anything?
Things were a little bit secret just yet bit Secret Squirrel.
At the moment, I am reaching much higher than I have.
Previously for anyone who does know, I get a lot of gifts on being a little, apprehensive up until now about sort of reaching too far above or punching too far above my weight.
If that makes sense. This year, I'm going all out.
So I'll be reaching a lot higher, a lot further.
Some of those are already looking like they're starting to pay off so hopefully time will tell, but I'd never know.
Until I'm sort of sitting there actually recording the podcast if it's going to happen. Well, fingers crossed for him
and hopefully that all goes well and be excited to listen to your podcast. Scotty before you before, we get
to your golf tips with Scotty. You used to mention that the
Bathurst 12-hour had, there was a Fiat 124 with the rotary.
Yeah, yeah, I just had a quick look and yet was a Fiat 124.
Well, the rotary motor in it. That's, that's actually
ridiculous. I love it was pretty cool.
Golf tip of the week. So many golf tip of the week.
If you are struggling Fuel Long irons and you're constantly persistent. Seriously, have a go with the
hybrid. Hmm.
All right. So you know, if you three ions
and you having a bit of trouble with it, have a look for a three hybrid will have the same Loft, but you'll be easily to get under the ball and you hit a lot higher which means when it lands on the green. It's not going to roll this far.
So try a hybrid get on it. Wow.
Great tip Scotty Something that for all of us something you can do, I don't think there is no instead of buying crawler, why not buy a Prius. Like it's the same that the same
principle. You know?
You're getting that extra bit of Loft, David and head.
You guys do a podcast. Yeah, we have been known to
