Good evening, Bill.
Good evening, Stanley. Hello, listeners. Welcome back to another episode of the BS Car Guys podcast.
It is October 10th as we record this and 10-10. How would you rate today? 10-10.
10-10.
10-10.
Yeah, like Bill said, October 10th. It is the week following the biggest interview that we've ever had from one of our heroes.
And we're going to talk about that a little bit, and we're going to talk about some car stuff.
Awesome.
And Bill is probably going to say something wild, because that's what Bill does.
And I'm probably going to say something that I'm going to regret, because that's what I did.
There you go.
So in personal car news, some things to share.
Oh, personal car news. I got personal car news too.
All right. Well, mine's not all sunshine and rainbows.
The 80 Series Land Cruiser still down for the count.
It's had some ongoing issues over the last few weeks.
Really, it's been the last couple of months, like since right before we left on our big trip,
but I just have been too busy to fix it.
And determined today that it is most likely an injector causing my misfire on cylinder number four.
And if we have any listeners that are super familiar and knowledgeable with the 1-FZ-FE engine in the 80 Series Land Cruiser.
Well, first of all, if you are a listener and you're super knowledgeable, give me a shout out because I could use your help.
But if not, then you know that the injector for basically all the cylinders except for cylinder number one live underneath the intake and a bunch of vacuum lines and the EGR valve.
And it's just a absolute nightmare.
So I'm probably going to be trailering it somewhere and having a professional replace the injectors because I did the plugs in the wires and trouble shot to this point.
But now it's like beyond my skill set to fix in my driveway.
So it's going to have to go to somebody at this point.
I understand that. And as the CEO of BLS, Bill Cranford, Incorporated, CEO and owner, I think you can force that fix.
Also in the vein of 2025, this is a great opportunity to go test drive Toyota, new Toyota body or frame SUVs.
One in particular.
Speaking of which, I was seated week before last, maybe two weeks ago, something like that.
I was seated in a Starbucks in Columbia, South Carolina for a work trip and a gentleman approached me wearing a Toyota jacket, very nice Toyota jacket.
And commented on my Haas apparel and asked if I was with the F1 team. So that started a conversation.
Wow, they thought you were with the F1 team?
Well, all my clothes say F1, Haas F1 on it.
I'm about to say, wow, that guy is warped.
He needed to work on his judgment of something. He needed to work on something.
So most of our stuff is branded with the team, the race team. So yeah, it always brings up those conversations.
And if they don't buy that I'm the backup driver, then we talk about what I really do.
Both of us are too fat to be any kind of driver for a F1 team.
And probably too tall.
So, but we got to talk about his job and his job is to travel around and do like factory related assessments, dealerships of cars.
So like stuff that might be warrantied and beyond the dealership or recall stuff or potential recalls or something like that.
And so we started having a conversation. He was driving a brand new Tundra.
And we had a pretty in depth and enjoyable disagreement about the new Land Cruiser.
So he was a fan and thought that there was a chance he would convince me to be a fan, but he was unsuccessful.
So anyway, but speaking of Toyota's in my life.
Wait, I'm out first. All he had to do is call me and I would have told him that he was going to knock.
He was not going to convince you to like a perfectly good vehicle.
But anyway, continue.
So speaking of Toyota's products, I think I don't want to jinx myself here.
But I think Kendra is right on the cusp of being ready to consider a 200 series.
Oh, really?
So I have been looking at some options and trying to find some that are lower mileage and in our price range, which there are not many, but looking nonetheless.
So maybe if sometime in the next several months, an opportunity presents itself, then maybe I can get her into one.
But I think it's going to require us getting the 80 series first fixed first and seeing how much that winds up costing because that's probably going to delay the process.
So maybe spring of next year, you know, strong Q1 possibility.
Or just hear me out.
Or you can just go get a new one.
Yeah, I'm going to do that.
I have a brand new super duty on the driveway.
So you are American in 2025.
And you are a corporate gentleman.
She is a corporate lady.
Both of you are professionals.
But no, we don't have no, no, no, no.
We have been it had been 12 years since we had a car payment.
Get going back to a new car payment is pretty painful.
I'm for sure not doing two of them.
Also, I know both of you.
So I also know that you don't have to have a car payment if you really don't want to.
So also, okay.
So last thing last thing in my car news.
Okay.
All right.
Now, this one's going to be.
This one's going to be a little different.
What do you do?
I'm going to tell you a number.
I'm only going to give you a four digits of a number.
That's a much longer number.
But that number is.
3233.
You might ask yourself, what, what is the relevance of those four numbers?
Well, those four numbers are the last four digits.
Of my reservation number for a scout traveler.
That's right.
Look at you.
I did a reservation for an EV.
Look at you.
It's only your second time that we're not going to talk about the first.
Cause that didn't happen.
This one may also not happen, but.
Hey, that's the point of a reservation.
You can back out of it anytime.
I am.
I am.
I am diligently working.
At multiple levels, including commenting on basically every single social media post.
Scout puts out.
I am diligently working on making a connection.
At Scout for, for two reasons.
One, my job and two for us to try to get me.
You know, some, some access to checking out one of these new scouts for the podcast.
And for my reservation to find out if it's worth keeping the reservation or not.
Cool.
I mean, this always been a dream of ours to be able to actually test drive some newer
vehicles and give our first hand opinions of them.
And I mean, if you can make it happen, you can make, if anybody can make it happen
there, I know you can probably make it happen because first of all, you had to
get forgave.
You are a likable person and people like you.
I don't.
Gee, Stanley, you're very attractive.
Thank you for the compliments.
I didn't say that part.
Well, I wanted to talk about car news.
I guess I got a little bit of car news last episode.
I alluded to a little bit of a accurate text that I was looking at.
Yeah.
That was an automatic that is local.
That vehicle is still there.
Okay.
I didn't, I purchased it because of some things that are going on in the world.
We don't need to get in all that.
I decided to hold up a little bit where I spend my money.
I also found a, a, the one, the local one is the 2008, which is the last model year
of that generation.
The first model year of that generation is 2004.
I found a 2005 in the backside of Virginia.
That was a manual with like 25,000 last miles.
So you tell me if I'm being unreasonable, unreasonable.
You are a car dealership, correct?
Yep.
I call you.
I get on auto trader or whatever.
Auto trader, if you'd like to sponsor us, go ahead.
You know, send us up for the email.
Get an auto trader and I send a message to him saying, hey, I'm interested in this vehicle.
They don't call me back.
I end up calling them talking to the young man and I said, hey, I am not local.
What I need you to do is if you would like me to buy this car is I need an independent PPI.
I don't want nobody who is affiliated with your company to do this PPI.
So take it to whatever Honda dealership, whatever Acura dealership, let them run the gambit on this car.
I will pay for it.
Yep.
They send a report to me.
I'll make a decision on this car.
If everything checks out right, I'll drive up there and pick it up.
Does that sound unreasonable?
No, it sounds very reasonable to me.
Why come?
I said that on purpose.
Oh, we just went real South Carolina.
Why come?
These people decided that that was an they didn't say it was an unreasonable request, but they
insist on using some people who they use, which they use the local name of a place.
But this is a good year affiliate.
And I was like, hey, man, I just told you I need an independent PPI.
And they said, all right, cool.
We're going to go get the PPI.
I was like, all right, cool.
I will pay for it.
I mean, when you send it, I will raise it.
I will do it.
Right.
They didn't call me back for two days.
There's now the question is, does that sound like somebody who wants to sell a car?
No, in fact, it actually sounds to me like they maybe had a lead on somebody wanting
to buy it that was local.
And they thought they could move it faster and not have to do anything for you.
Correct.
I felt that way.
That's the feeling I was getting in that at the same time.
I was like, hey, car dealerships, because I've had to deal with a couple car dealerships
here locally recently.
We'll get to that.
Hey, if you want to sell your car, you may want to do reasonable things that
the customer asks.
Yeah.
Especially if it's a non-local person getting an independent PPI that they are
saying, they are, I was like, I will pay for this.
Right.
I don't think that's unreasonable.
I do not either.
But what I'm not going to do is trust you to do this because I don't know you.
But I also, but I know that BS Honda or SB Acura can be held to account.
You know, but yeah, they didn't want to sell me that car evidently.
But that wasn't manual.
I will readdress that situation once I finish selling you by the Acura situation
once I tell you about this.
Okay.
So, Faith, my daughter made a decision on a car.
Whoa.
She is currently driving said car.
Oh, she bought it.
She bought a car.
I told you before that this is her first car like us.
Our parents and the people around us who had better judgment probably told us at
some point to not buy the first car that we bought.
Right.
However, it was our decision and sometimes we just got learned license that way.
She bought a 2019 Chevy Spark RS.
It is a nice little car.
And she only paid $9000 for it.
Okay.
She's driving.
She thinks it's the cutest car in the world.
And she's all giddy and I'm happy for it.
And when things happen, I'll be here.
What more can you ask for?
Exactly.
Last bit of personal card news is why is it in the middle of all of this,
everything that is going on in the world, this whole Acura situation,
my daughter buying her first car situation.
My wife wants it.
She has decided what car she wants for her next vehicle.
Oh.
She wants a Lexus and X 350.
And that's one of the ones we had discussed, right?
It is.
It is.
The Genesis is a little bit out of the price range.
The Lexus is in the price range.
And I'm going to run a scenario by you.
I want to tell you if this would give you pause.
Okay.
It is 2025, almost 2026.
That's correct.
Lexus, local Lexus dealerships has a Lexus in X with 90% of the features
that you want in the vehicle that you want not need in the vehicle.
But it is used.
It is a 2022, but it has 4,370 miles on it.
Wow.
Would that give you pause?
Not for that vehicle in the area where you live.
Now, I looked at the car facts.
There is a mileage discrepancy by 2,000 miles on it.
Because it got serviced somewhere, it said at 6,000 or some change.
And then they got it and it was right back at four.
And I was like, there's a little bit of mileage discrepancy.
Hey, what happened to this vehicle?
Why did somebody not want this vehicle at the 4,000 miles in three years?
What is going on?
However, we still may buy it.
It feels like, I mean, because it's L certified and it's going to be fully bagged on a warranty for the next three years.
I think if there was anything about the mileage that gave Lexus pause,
it wouldn't be a certified pre-owned.
Correct.
Well, I just thought it was weird.
I was like, why does this thing have 4,000 miles in three years?
This is weird.
Again, I think where you live, it is entirely possible for a person to purchase a brand new vehicle or lease a brand new vehicle and only put that many miles on it in three years.
And it's very much an old lady car.
You thought of me or my wife or old lady, which one?
Well, no, I mean to buy a new.
Buying or leasing a brand new.
There's a popular, I'm not saying that every single person who has one is an old lady.
I'm saying that it's a vehicle that is maybe sought out by women of a certain generation.
I agree with you.
It is a vehicle in the vein of life that we want to be in, that we so desperately want,
which is our children are wrong.
We want a car that we do not have to worry about ever.
That's right.
And if we need to take it in for anything, they're going to give us another car to drive.
So we're not without a car.
And that's how we want to rock out.
It makes sense.
Yeah.
One day you'll get there.
It may be in about 15 years.
Yeah, maybe so.
But yeah, I guess that was our personal car stories right there.
Oh, also my son bought in a.
You remember when we built chargers wheels looking for charges.
It was a couple of years ago.
We found all these chargers owned like that were police cars and everything.
Yes.
So one of them, my son, my eldest son, he bought it.
He traded in his Volkswagen Turek.
Not Turek.
What's his one?
Take one.
He got himself a charger.
It is a GT.
So it is the V6, but it is it's not the one he wanted because he wants a 392,
but he can't afford that yet.
So he got this one and it is one of our favorite colors.
That copper color thing.
That.
Okay.
Yeah.
And he decides to.
He did.
He just goes and does this without, you know, letting anybody as if he needs to let
anybody know.
And then comes, pulls up on my driveway.
I was mad.
I tell you, sir.
I was mad.
I was like, why did he do go buy a car that I want?
I'm cool with you buying all the cars that I don't want.
But you can't go by the ones that I want.
I mean, you know, you can probably help put the idea in his head that that was a
good, good car to buy.
So, you know, that probably led to him looking at it seriously.
Yeah.
So is it a police package car with all wheel drive or is it a real
wheel drive?
It is all wheel drive, but it is not a police package car.
Okay.
Well, at least being all wheel drive, you don't have to worry
about him participating in any intersection takeovers.
I would not put that past my other son.
He is an immature 31 year old and I love him to death.
Well, but he bought, he bought all wheel drives.
That thing ain't doing no donuts.
Yeah.
He might not do the donut, but he's going to be in the crowd.
Okay.
Well, that we can't control.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But yeah, I guess I saw the personal car news and now I guess we're
going to a couple other things that maybe I want to talk about
and a couple of things that Bill want to talk about one to
include the interview that we did last week.
Yeah.
We missed the Derek D.
I know for me, that was, I think our highest achievement
thus far when it comes to us doing a podcast.
Derek D is one of our idols, at least one of mine.
He's one of yours from a comedian standpoint from a car
culture standpoint.
And I mean, just being a dude, I was pleasantly surprised that he
was the dude that we saw on the show.
He was 100% that guy.
And I mean, they tell you sometimes, you don't want to meet your
heroes because they will disappoint you.
I was not disappointed.
Right.
And I would know what you thought about it.
Yeah.
I was really impressed getting to talk to Derek and him taking
the time to do an interview with us was really awesome.
Yes.
Thank you, Derek.
Yeah.
And any potential future opportunities that may or may not
come from that, I'll be super appreciative of that always.
I think that, you know, thinking about the interview and the
whole idea of doing the interview, I meet with people pretty
regularly for work that are at pretty high levels in their
respective fields.
And I meet people that I know going into the conversation.
I'm talking to somebody who's worth far more than me and has
more influence in a larger circle than I'll probably ever have.
And but I'm generally not like nervous or intimidated.
But talking to Derek was one of those things that because we
had talked about it for so long about, you know, Fastlane
daily, even before, you know, kind of excluding our podcast,
just in general talking about episodes of the show as they
aired back in the day.
And, you know, kind of looking at Derek as somebody was like,
you know, that is a job that I would love to have that
kind of opportunity to be able to talk about cars,
joke around about cars, express your feelings about cars
and a creative outlet.
You know, that's, I mean, that's kind of what we try to strive
for here.
So, you know, I think a lot of that is based on the content
of those shows that we watched, not just Fastlane daily,
but, you know, plenty of others as well.
And so getting to meet him and kind of like you said,
confirming that he is a regular guy, he's a car guy,
you know, wasn't just an acting gig.
It was something he was very passionate about.
And honestly, even to hear him say, you know, him and
AK are both still very passionate about not allowing
somebody to come in and take what they've created
and built, even though it's been dormant, you know,
for almost 10 years, still not allowing somebody else
to come in and do the wrong thing with it, you know.
And that shows a level of respect for what they created
that they still have for it, but also like a pride in
what they, I don't know, I mean, just poured their
selves into for almost 10 years, you know.
So I don't know, to me, it was a pretty cool opportunity
to get to talk to him.
I certainly would enjoy talking to him more, you know,
and if there's an opportunity ever to do any more stuff
with Derek or like I said, anybody else that, you know,
he knows from those times at Fastlane daily,
then certainly would welcome that opportunity.
And we're probably just as nervous to talk to anybody
else from there as well, but I'd still do it.
I mean, it's still awesome.
Yeah, 100%, man.
I, again, pleasantly surprised to find out that he was
that guy that we all that don't watch every day
because Fastlane daily for about, you know, for 2300 episodes,
2300 plus episodes.
And I mean, genuine dude, man.
I mean, he's going through some stuff like him right now,
him and AK, and I pray for him because I do that
and I hope he gets through this.
And maybe one day we can do this, that podcast,
a revision of that podcast in person.
Maybe AK can be there.
Maybe some other people could be there.
I'm not above driving it.
Right.
Doing a car pool today on New Jersey, you know,
and hanging out on the beach in New Jersey
and having a live podcast and, you know,
whatever comes from it.
I just hope he continues.
He's able to continue to be who he is.
And I will cherish that moment.
I think I thought it was awesome.
And even though you say you was nervous, a little nervous,
it didn't show.
It didn't show.
You were doing your normal bill.
Well, I appreciate that.
You know, I mean, like most things,
I go into them overly confident.
I think that's a Marine Corps trait.
It is.
But so I could be nervous on the inside and overly confident
on the outside, I guess.
Absolutely.
We perfect that in the Marine Corps.
It's called boot camp.
That's right.
That's exactly right.
What we're going to do right now is we're going to
hang over the side of this tower with a rope
and you're going to dagger a job off it.
Wait.
There's no way.
Oh, I mean, look, that was one of my favorite days
in boot camp.
I was not ready.
I was not ready for that or jumping off the tower
for the first time.
But anyway, not Marine Corps stuff.
But anyway, Derek, we're praying for you.
AK, we're praying for you.
If you are ever wanting to link up, just let us know.
Reach out.
You got our stuff.
And if you're listening to this right now,
please go to Derek's website.
The link is in the description of the last podcast
or just Google Derek D.
And check out what he's doing right now.
He is much more than just a fan-themed daily host.
He is a full-fledged actor, voice actor.
He has his own stuff.
I think he won a, what did they call it, a webby?
A webby?
Webby.
Webby.
Yeah.
I mean, check the dude out, man.
It's important.
He's out there doing this thing,
trying to support himself in his life,
just like everybody else.
He's a dude.
He's a dude.
That's right.
And he's a car dude, right?
Car dude.
Absolutely.
And if you follow us on Facebook,
you can check out my post on there.
I did a link, his website,
and then his social media as well.
So as well as the link to the episode,
if you haven't listened to it.
So go check it out if you haven't.
Cool.
One good follow-up question.
Is there somebody else that's alive?
Because I know who it is if it wasn't,
if we can talk to somebody who has passed.
What I think I do anyway,
that you would like to interview.
I know I have one.
Yeah.
I think it's tough.
I have a pretty big list of people
that I think would be pretty awesome
from the automotive content world
to interview for the podcast.
But I think the top of my list would probably
have to be Jason Camisa.
I knew you were going to say that.
I think it'd be tough.
I think it's between him and Chris Harris.
But I think Chris does enough
like this level conversational level
car topics that I would struggle, I think,
to have a ton of good, interesting questions
that people have already asked him.
And yeah, I don't want to be redundant.
And I haven't seen Camisa on a ton of stuff.
So he would probably be the top of my list for that reason.
Then Chris Harris.
And then for all the same reasons why Chris is number two,
number three would probably be Matt Farah.
But he also has done a thousand podcast episodes
and has so many YouTube episodes
that pretty well have a good understanding
of what his opinions about cars are.
That being said, it would still be cool
to talk to him and hear his story.
100%.
100%.
For me, I have two that come to mind.
One, you are very familiar,
you should be very familiar with the other,
maybe not so much by number one person
who I would love to have on this podcast one day
or just to have a conversation with.
They don't even have to be recorded.
It's John Davis, the host of another week.
He was essentially my introduction to cars, period.
I have been watching that show on and off
since 1987.
He has been the host since 1978, I believe it was.
That's crazy.
He came from like news, like regular news back in the day
or like a weather beat or something like that
or just a reporter in Maryland.
He was passionate about cars,
came up with a crazy idea,
pitched through Maryland Public Television
and they've been doing it the whole time.
The TV show that was on PBS, to YouTube, to podcasts,
I mean, that dude in my mind is goat of goats
when it comes to cars, journalism stuff.
I mean, as they say in the show,
it is the original television magazine, car magazine.
There's some version of that.
The second person who you probably are way more familiar with
and I just think this would be fun and interesting
and it would never happen.
It is Ludacris.
Now, that's a really interesting choice, right?
What is his last name?
Chris, Bridges?
Bridges, I think so.
A lot of people don't know, started out as a radio DJ,
I think in Florida, right?
No, Atlanta.
He's from St. Louis but he became known in Atlanta.
Yeah, I think and definitely a car guy
but a unique perspective on being a car guy, right?
I don't know, I think I would get along with him real well
because I don't think he's as big a new car guy
as some other celebrities.
He likes his stuff, he's had for forever, like he's accurate.
Exactly, if y'all don't know, he had an accurate
that he got when he first started doing radio
and he still has it to this day.
He will not get rid of that car if I understand correctly
and if you did get rid of that car for whatever reason,
Chris, Ludacris, Bridges, you can just let us know
and you can just come over here and tell your story, man
and we can talk about old accuracy
because I'm a fan of old accuracy too.
Yeah, I think he had, it was restored maybe by accurate
if I'm not mistaken.
I mean, if I was the head of accurate, I would do it.
Oh, yeah, for sure. That's a good PR, right?
Absolutely.
Yeah, that's a good pick, man.
I mean, I guess there are other people
that I would want to talk to as well.
I mean, if we were just talking like flat-out celebrities
that are also car people, that's a big list.
And the reason I picked Ludacris,
because I mean, when you're a celebrity
and you have the amount of money
and notoriety that that guy has,
you can almost have any car,
but he does it.
He just has the things that he likes,
not the things that everybody else likes
if I understand it correctly.
I think that is a sign of who he is.
It's like, I don't want what everybody else got.
I want what I want because I think it's cool.
Right.
Okay, so since you threw out Ludacris,
I'm going to throw out my more obscure car person
that I would love to interview.
Are you ready for this?
Yeah.
Rowan Atkinson, Mr. Bean.
Really?
Yes.
That dude is a big-time car guy.
Really?
And he has not missed a Goodwood revival
that I know of in 15 years.
I mean, he races regularly in vintage automobile racing.
And while he's not super competitive with the guys
that are out there that race professionally,
he still has a passion for it and loves doing it.
And like I said, is a very good car dude
who's famous for everything other than being a car guy.
So I would, that would be really how I'm on a list of,
like quote unquote famous people from,
let's say from the wings, right?
Yeah.
That are maybe outside that mainstream famous quote unquote,
but that are definitely car dudes.
He would be top of my list for that.
I just had a wild card that just came to my mind just now.
And I don't know where he ranks on the list,
but it would be cool to talk to this dude, Stacey David.
Oh, that guy.
Dude of the host of every car show on Spike's T and N
and then all the other gear, all the things, man.
He just, I don't know.
I don't know who he is in real life, but he was, I mean,
I watched all of them shows.
I mean, it would change the name of the show.
It would be the same show, but slightly different.
I'll watch it too because it was all.
I think the show only ever changed because of the sponsors.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
In the channel because it was TNT, then it was Spike,
and then it was something else that I don't know what it is now.
But yeah, man.
There's a couple of people out there that would be really cool.
And yeah, speaking of really cool things.
So Bill, you did a thing that, well, I guess it's still recently.
You accepted and accomplished the goal of finding a shopping
for a transmission.
Yes.
It is in your driveway.
Yes.
You've made a Hot Wheels car of it.
Yes.
And which is cool.
But I had, I was just in my search of doing this and I'm still
not decided on what I'm going to do or how I'm going to do it.
But I was just looking, I saw a video on donut and then I started
doing a little bit of research.
I'm going to ask you a couple questions about this and this is
not to embarrass you.
I just wonder if you know, because I didn't know how many cars
in 2025 that you think you could get a manual with.
11.
11.
Wrong.
You were short.
The answer is 26.
There were 26 cars that you can get with the manual.
Now, you, you did.
Now, I was going to say it.
Models or trims.
It's 24 that is 24 different models, but two of them I figured
I think they were different enough that I separated the two
different trims that you can get.
So if there are, you said 11.
I'll tell you those two.
Let's see if you can get how many you can get.
So the two that I figured that were close enough.
My bad.
It was 27.
They were close enough.
Nope.
I put it on there.
I apologize.
That's the civic SI and the civic type R.
I separated those two, even though they're still civics and
the Integra and the Integra type S.
I separated those two because they're still about even though
they're still integral, I think they're different.
All four, all four of those is one car.
Exactly.
Exactly.
I understand.
I get what you're saying.
We could have done that.
Okay.
So I'm going to see how close to this 11 I actually get.
Yeah.
Let's see if you can get it.
What was that?
27?
26.
26.
So that just dropped by three.
So that's 23 now.
I'm keeping count.
I'm highlighting the ones that we talked about just now.
So let's see how many of these you can you get?
Can you name 11?
Can I name 11?
Yeah.
Let's say 10 because you're weird.
Let's see 11.
All right.
The base model SR5 Tacoma four cylinder.
Correct.
You can get that.
Okay.
The, the Grady six BRZ combo.
That is one vehicle, which you have it as two.
Actually, I did not have that as two.
Did I?
Nope.
I did not have that as two because that is no different.
But okay.
Go ahead.
That's.
Okay.
Okay.
And then the Supra.
Three.
Okay.
Anything else from Toyota that offers a manual, the GR Corolla.
All right.
Four.
I don't think there's anything else from Toyota.
I think that's it.
All right.
So then BMW.
You got.
You got M2 M3 M4.
Probably.
Yeah.
Probably all the CSS.
All the CSS.
Right.
They're all there.
I think the CSS is the only version of those right that you can get with a manual.
Is that right?
No, it's actually the.
It is the base M3 and M4 that you can get with the manual.
The CSS you can't.
Okay.
Got it.
All right.
What is it that Kia has?
Is it the Forte GT?
Nope.
You can't get the Forte with a manual?
Nope.
Because first of all, they don't sell the Forte anymore.
Oh.
But does Kia have a manual?
No.
Okay.
So I'm just off on that.
All right.
It's 2024.
That would have been a valid answer.
Oh, I'm a boomer.
Okay.
Well, let's go.
Let's go to.
Volkswagen.
You can get the GTI.
And the Jetta GLI.
No, you cannot get the GTI, but you can get a Jetta GLI.
You can't get a GTI manual anymore.
2025 to sell the GTI, sir.
Hey, I didn't realize it was gone.
The R is the R still a thing.
The R is a thing, but you can't get a manual.
Well, that's what I thought.
That was DSG only.
Okay.
So the Jetta GLI.
That'd be the only Volkswagen I can think of.
All right.
Yeah.
I'm also keeping count.
All right.
So let's go.
Let's go Porsche.
You can get a Boxster in a manual and you can get a 9-11 in a
manual.
Correct.
I think currently there's only one of each that's available
with a manual this year.
All right.
So you're going to say Boxster and 9-11.
Do you want to put all together?
No, because there are two totally different platforms.
That's what I said.
All right.
So are you going to leave Porsche now?
That's a better question.
Yeah.
I don't think they have anything else that's a manual.
All right.
So I'm going to not allow you to use any other Porsches
because the Carrera T, you can get it in a manual.
And in the GT3, you can get it in a manual, which they both
have 9-11s.
I don't think either of us would say those are the same car.
No, those are definitely not the same car.
I mean, that's a good point.
For some reason, I was thinking that this year you,
the currently the GT3 with a manual was not available.
It may, according to our car and driver at Motor Week,
they said you could.
They went out of the places that I love.
And if we fact check that on the Porsche website,
I think right now the T is the only model with a manual
you can get.
OK.
So would you call the Boxster and the Cayman the same car?
Yeah.
OK.
So all right.
Yeah, those are the same car.
That's going to count.
It's the same engine, same transmission.
OK.
Coincidentally, buying either one of those cars with a manual
is not the wisest decision unless you're prepared to have
the gearbox like redone because the gearing is so long
it's ridiculous.
The Volkswagen AG in general is weird about manuals.
My sixth gear in my Golf R is too short for a sixth gear.
And every other gear preceding it is too long for what it is
except for first.
First gear is the only gear that's rational.
And it gets you to about 25 to 28 miles an hour.
And then you're shipped in the second.
Second will take me to like 52 at redline.
Third will take me to 80.
I would have figured they would have tried to get 60
in the first two gears because that's how Chevy did it
in the C7 Corvette.
They made that gear long enough that you got the 62 miles
by the first gear.
OK.
So you wouldn't have to.
So you wouldn't lose that time on the ship.
So that gets me to 10.
Number 11 Ford Mustang.
OK.
Good to go.
Are you going to try to get them off?
I'm going to go for there's currently a.
Are they still selling the CTV black wings four and five?
Yes, they are.
Well, that's different.
That's two different engines and trans is so that I count
both of those.
OK.
OK.
I don't think there's anything else from GM and a manual
right now.
Can you you can't get a Corvette in a manual.
Can you?
No, you can't.
I didn't think so.
Do they they don't offer a manual in anything else?
OK.
So let's move on from there.
Can't think of a Mercedes currently with a manual.
Can you?
Can you still?
Right now you have a 13.
Can you get a Kia Soul with a manual?
No, you can't.
Not no more.
OK.
What else is there?
And we'll be discontinuing in 2026, which I think I
think somebody should pull out a little liquor in the
words of Tupac for that.
Fair enough.
All right.
What else am I missing?
I will tell you there is one on here that I just did.
I went straight past my head and.
But all the other ones on here, you know.
Who else?
That's for WRX.
Yep.
WRX.
OK.
Let's see who else has a manual currently.
Man.
Nissan, the.
Proto Z 400 Z.
Yeah.
Z whatever it is.
Yep.
OK.
There is an obvious one that you are just.
Admitting from your memory right now.
An obvious one.
Obvious.
When I say when you get it, when you say it, or I have
