Tire rotation means changing the position of the tires on your car so they wear evenly. This helps them last longer and keeps your car safe to drive.
Tire rotation is the practice of moving tires from one position on a vehicle to another to ensure even tire wear and prolong their lifespan. It's recommended to rotate tires every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, depending on the vehicle and tire type.
"as I've stated on this show many, many times, most of your vehicles are going to burn oil. So after the week that we drove it, make sure I had a full tank, make sure I checked the oil."
Oil helps keep the engine running smoothly by reducing friction between parts. It's important to check and refill it regularly to avoid engine damage.
Oil is a crucial fluid in vehicles that lubricates the engine's moving parts, reducing friction and wear. Regularly checking and topping off oil levels is essential for engine health.

Tire pressure refers to the amount of air inside a tire, which is crucial for safe driving, fuel efficiency, and tire longevity. Properly inflated tires improve handling and reduce the risk of blowouts.
"...if your vehicle is a front wheel drive, you know, vehicle, it's going to wear those tires out a little bit more."
In a front-wheel drive car, the front wheels are responsible for both moving the car and steering it. This setup can help with handling and traction, especially in bad weather.
Front-wheel drive (FWD) is a vehicle layout where the engine's power is directed to the front wheels. This configuration typically provides better traction in slippery conditions and can lead to more efficient use of space in the vehicle.
"If it's all wheel drive, great. If it's real wheel drive, like my truck, the back tires are going to wear out."
In all-wheel drive cars, power goes to all four wheels, which helps the car grip the road better. This is useful for driving in rain or snow.
All-wheel drive (AWD) is a drivetrain system that provides power to all four wheels of a vehicle simultaneously. This enhances traction and stability, especially in adverse weather conditions.
"If it's real wheel drive, like my truck, the back tires are going to wear out."

Good afternoon and welcome to the car show. I'm Dane Donovan, taking your car questions,
the number to call 513-749-500. That number again, 513-749-5500. Almost forgot the number.
I've been gone for two weeks. I was in Florida for vacation. We luckily had time last year
and this year to go during that week, just shortly after Christmas.
As you can imagine, pretty spectacular if you live in the Cincinnati area. As you know,
it's raining. You haven't seen the sun in days. It was kind of a nice break. The summers down
there are just too hot. I'm usually too busy. Kids are usually involved in sports,
so it usually works out. The past two years, it's worked out for us. We were enjoying some sun.
I actually got sunburned. I do this every year and you'd think I'd learned from my mistakes
at 41 years old, but I went down there one of the days we went to the beach and it was like 65
degrees. It wasn't hot, but my feet have not seen the sun in quite some years.
I did not put suntan lotion on the tops of my feet. It only took about two hours.
You want to talk about some pain. I just can't even believe. I put suntan lotion on,
but not on the tops of my feet and they got burned pretty badly. For those of you listening,
if you go to Florida, put some suntan lotion on the tops of your feet. I burned them pretty bad.
Anyway, it's the number to call 5137495500. Listen, it is 2026 and we need to talk about,
and I was thinking about this over the break. Listen, these cars are getting more and more
and more expensive and less reliable and they have become, we need them and we have to get them to
the kids to school, to work or whatnot. We need them, but man, they have just become,
in my opinion, sometimes they've become a headache in the sense that these newer cars with all the
technology in them, they just continuously have so many different issues. I want to start out with
2026 as let's focus on what we can do in order to prolong life of our vehicles,
and it can be very basic. As I stated earlier, we went to Florida and my wife's family, her aunt
and uncle, who are very generous, they have a house down there. They allow us to stay there,
which we always do appreciate, and they have a vehicle down there. It's an 08 Honda Odyssey,
and they bought it from a family friend in Long Story Short. I got down there, tire lights on,
the maintenance lights on, it's overdue for an oil change, needs a tire rotation. So
I did the best that I could to take care of all of that. It was low on oil, which again,
as I've stated on this show many, many times, most of your vehicles are going to burn oil.
So after the week that we drove it, make sure I had a full tank, make sure I checked the oil.
Because it doesn't get driven that much, it didn't necessarily need it mileage-wise,
but time-wise it did. It was two quarts low on oil, so I went and bought some oil, topped it off,
checked all the air pressure, cleaned it up, made sure the maintenance light was reset,
because a lot of times we just don't think about resetting it.
It's so simple, the things that we can do in order to prolong the life of our tires,
prolong the life of our cars. I had stated earlier in this, well end of 2025, talked about,
even how do we prolong the life of our wiper blades? Wiper blades anymore are,
you used to be able to give them for two, three bucks, and we didn't really value them, and a
lot of times we don't even think about it until it rains or it snows that we need them. But
wiper blades nowadays, sometimes the only place I can get wiper blades for a customer of mine
is from the dealer, and sometimes it's $50, $60, $70 for two wiper blades. And I understand that
it's astronomical, but that's what the dealer charges, that's the only place I can get them.
Some, most cars are universal, most cars you can go to your local parts place and get them,
not a big deal. But some of these newer cars and some of these fancier cars, your Mercedes, your
BMW, your Audi's, Land Rovers or whatnot, you cannot get a standard, you cannot go into a
parts, you know, an AutoZone, KOIs, you cannot go in there and get these wiper blades, you have
to buy them from the dealer, and they're $60 or $70, right? So how do we, what do we do in order to
prolong the life of the wiper blade, right? And I talked about that using Raynex on the windshield,
cleaning them with an alcohol wipe, right? Making sure that we don't leave the wipers
on when it's freezing out and it's snowing and, you know, something as simple as that, right?
So how can we prolong the life of our vehicles? And I've always stated and I've always talked about,
unless I'm gonna, I want to change how we do things around here in the sense that I want to do more
educational shows in order to, what can we do to, I've, in fact, on my way here,
young lady pulled out in front of me and into the turn lane, and which, and I had one car coming
into the right, she's pulling into the turn lane, which is, you can get ticketed for it,
things like that, you know, how do we, how do we make sure that we, we keep our car as long as
we possibly can, right? Because they're expensive, and it's things, smaller things that we can do
in order to make the car last longer. Now, as I stated on the show before, I have a newer vehicle,
and I don't let anybody eat or drink in my, in my vehicle, because I want to prolong,
I want to keep the vehicle. And my son earlier, we, he got a scooter for Christmas and already
popped a tire, and I was trying to fix it. And he wanted to stop at the gas station and get a
a snack. And I said, you can't eat that in my car, in my truck. So, you know, just simple things
like that, how do we, how, how do we prevent and make the car last longer? And it's, it's so important
to make sure that we try to keep these cars
last as possible as long as we can. And it's, and there's, it doesn't have to be this
massive, you know, overhaul and thousands and thousands of dollars. It's the, it's the smaller
things, the things that, that we can do, you can do at home, cleaning the wiper blades, making sure
your air pressure is checked and that the tires are inflated properly, in the sense that, you know,
when your tires are not inflated properly, you wear them out quicker. If you don't rotate them
enough, if your vehicle is a front wheel drive, you know, vehicle, it's going to wear those tires
out a little bit more. If it's all wheel drive, great. If it's real wheel drive, like my truck,
the back tires are going to wear out. So, rotating them regularly. And, and, and for those of you
who are listening, you're like, well, Dane, how often should I change my, or rotate my tires?
It's every other oil change. And as I've stated on the show, every 5000 miles, I don't care what car
you have. I don't care if you have a Corvette, a BMW, a Mercedes, a Honda Civic, a Hyundai,
it doesn't matter. All of these vehicles that are manufactured today come with a synthetic
oil change. I don't care what the salesman told you, the oil needs to be changed. I don't care
what the car tells, what I'm telling you to do is every 5000 miles, you change that oil. Okay.
Simplest, the, the, the, to get the most longevity out of your vehicle is by changing the
oil every 5000 miles. And then again, every other oil change, you just rotate the tires.
It also brings the car in. Your, your technician can inspect the brakes. Make sure your suspension
parts are good. Right. Because if you've got a bad ball joint or tie rod, it's going to wear out your
tires prematurely. So these are things getting your mechanic. And again, it goes back to, you know,
you go into your, your, your doctor annually or going to your dentist every six months, right?
Just going in there and making sure that the vehicle is at top notch. And again, I'm not talking about
putting thousands of dollars and making sure that you're putting, you're doing crazy, you know,
upgrades and, and, um, you know, putting hundreds and thousands of dollars. Now,
I will tell you that some, your cars will need that type of work.
But if you stay on top of it and you get the vehicle in regularly, simple, 5000 miles,
changing the oil, every other oil change, getting the tires rotated and just making sure that it's
inspected, right? And making sure that the battery is at top notch. So you're not in a scramble mode
when it won't start. You know, I get, you know, I have a tremendous customer base, great customers.
And some people do have my cell phone number and they'll call me like, Hey, I have this problem.
What should I do? And, uh, you know, we all get into it. I mean, I've been in, you know,
there's been times where my wife's car won't start, right? And, but there's things that we
could do. And, and, and starting 2026, I think it's important that we talk about and have the
discussion about, Hey, what can we do? You know, and again, not spending a ton of money,
but just getting in, getting the vehicle in regularly so that we can stay on top of the
car repair. So it doesn't become overwhelming. Okay. And being able to save money, things are
very expensive, whether I don't know if you've gone to the grocery store lately, but it's expensive.
I remember, I remember when I, uh, when my wife and I got married going to Costco, you'd put four
things in the, in the grocery cart and it was a hundred bucks. Well, you know, fast forward 15 years
later. And now I put four things in my grocery, in my grocery cart at Kroger and it's a hundred
bucks, right? So how can we save money and prolong one of the, one of the biggest investments that
we have now? I understand that it's a depreciating asset. You're not necessarily going to get more
money for the vehicle, right? Your home is going to be your, your, your biggest cost, right? But
your car is too, right? Your car is vital tool. It is something that you need to use every single
day for most of us, right? So what are the things that we can do in order to protect our investment
in the sense that, hey, how do we prolong simple things, right? And, uh, and it's, it's, it's,
it's so easy, right? It's changing the oil regularly. It's rotating the tires. It's making
sure that our tires are properly inflated. It's making sure that we prolong the life of the
wiper blades, because again, wiper blades are just crazy busy. And then, you know, for me, and this
is, you know, making sure, you know, we have all these cars that have all these great features,
right? Your panoramic sunroof and your operating back window and your, your operating ticket.
But you understand and know that every time that you use that, you're, you're diminishing the life
of that motor or that switch or, um, you know, that lock actuator or whatnot.
So, you know, those are minor things. I tell my kids all the time, like, don't push buttons.
I, I, I know what, you know, I know what it cost if that window breaks or that panoramic
sunroof breaks or, uh, that back tailgate on my wife's car won't open up. I know what it costs.
So I'm like, Hey, let's limit what, what we do in pushing buttons because, yes, it's nice
feature to have. And some of us were like, Hey, Dan, I don't have that, that option. That's fine.
Just think about it. Like, Hey, if every time I push this button, I'm diminishing the life of
that motor or that switch or, uh, and again, ultimately it costs you money down the road.
So just something to think about. And I want to, you know, there's just, there's so many
minimal things, small things that you can do to prolong life of your vehicle. So you can keep it
going for 100, 200, 300,000 miles. And we've talked about it on the show multiple times. So
I'm interested in hearing from you and taking your car questions. Again, the number to call

Taking your car questions, the number to call, 513-749-5500. That number again, 513-749-5500.
As I stated earlier in the first segment, I would like to hear from you as well. What are
some of the things that you've done in the past that has prolonged the life of your vehicle?
Again, it could be something simple, but there are so many things that I do,
but there might be things that I've never even thought about. What are some of the things that
maybe you've done in the past to prolong the life of your vehicle? Again, these vehicles are
far more sophisticated, but they still need oil and they still need to be taken care of and maintained.
I think we've gotten into my mother-in-law during Christmas time, she's like,
hey, I just got a new fridge. I thought you just bought a new fridge. She goes, yeah, I bought it
during COVID and the thing lasted five years and it was more expensive to repair it than it was just
to replace it. Unfortunately, as I've said on this show before, that's kind of the way they're
making vehicles, but a fridge is far cheaper than a car. Your cars are, the US government just stated
I think it was like in November, the average car price in the United States is $50,000. That's the
highest it's been ever, $50,000. That's a lot of money. Obviously, the interest rates aren't
the lowest. I have a vehicle in my shop right now. They brought it to us. Unfortunately, it's an Audi
and it has a burnt valve in it. It's probably a goodness, $20, $30 part, but you have to take
apart the entire engine in order to do it. It was going to be around $10,000 to repair the
vehicle. That customer said, you know what? We don't want to fix it. We'll just junk it.
Now, long story short, they still owed $20,000 on this vehicle. They have a $10,000 car repair
that they're not going to fix it, but they still owe $20,000. In order to get the car,
get rid of the vehicle, they had to pay $20,000, pay the note off in order to junk the vehicle.
I don't ever want to see any of my customers or anybody in general that listens go through that.
That's heartbreaking to see that. Now, are there things that they could have done in order to
not get into that situation? Sure. Again, I'm here to tell you that there are
things that you can do and steps that you can take in order to try to prolong the life of the
vehicle. It stinks to have somebody that has to go through that. There are things that you can do
in order to keep your car. I've said this before so many times on the show. If you have a vehicle,
an older vehicle, 10, 10 years old, 15 years old, 20 years old, you get your car in there and they're
like, hey, it needs $2,000 worth of work. You're like, that's not worth it. I'll just get rid of it.
I'm telling you, you need to keep it and you need to fix it because these newer cars are
like that refrigerator that I referenced about my mother-in-law. It lasted five years and she
had to go on buy a new one. That's how they're making cars. So protect your investment in the
sense that keep the vehicle that you have. There are so many things that you can do at home that
can prolong the life of the vehicle. That's what I want to talk about today. All right, let's go
to the phones. We have Bill. Hey, Bill, welcome to the car show. How can I help?
Yes, thanks for taking the call. Sure, absolutely. I talked to you before you left on vacation about
the 2005 Silverado. I'm having trouble trying to get started. You gave me the pointers to get
AC-Docco ICM. Oh, yeah, absolutely. I remember this. Yes, I remember this conversation. Yes, sir.
I picked one up and put it on there and nothing, not no spark whatsoever. So somebody says,
well, maybe it's the ground. So I added a different groundstrap and still nothing.
This thing is really getting to me. It's really getting the best of me. Now, I did put a new coil
on and it did start or last month and then it died. I wonder if the coil is effective. I mean,
that's the only thing I got left to try to try unless you have other ideas.
Correct me. What year was the vehicle? 2005. Okay, all right. So you're getting fuel,
you're just not getting spark, correct? Correct. Yeah, I can smell the fuel. Okay.
And I spray the starter fluid in there and nothing. So it has to be a spark.
Right. Spark issue. Yeah, correct. So you've done the AC-Docco,
but you said you put a new coil on it and it did start?
I put a new coil and that ICM from, it was a reputable TOI place and it started for about a week
and then it just wouldn't start. So that's when I called you.
And then, yeah, I understand. Yes, sir. And correct me if I'm wrong, but we had discussed
maybe the crank sensor possibly. I put that on too. And you put that on and that was,
but that was aftermarket, correct? That was the same brand from KLR here.
And it looked a little, the old one looked a little worn and a little black on the edge.
I don't know what that means. If it was just worn down or something,
but I really thought that would do it, but no. Okay. No, I'm out of ideas here,
it's driving me crazy. Well, I mean, what part of, it says you're from,
you're from Scentsy, but what part of China you live in?
Spring Grove Village. I'm real close to you. I'm just right off Mitchell Avenue and
Dan and so forth. But yeah, you're close. Here's, I mean,
I mean, we could be dealing with a computer issue. I mean, there's a lot of things that we could be
covering. Here's what I want to do for you. Do you have the option of getting it to me in the sense
of I'll look at it. Let me see what I can do for it. I mean, you know, the problem is, is it looks
like you've covered all your bases. In my opinion, you've covered all your bases unless it's some
type of, you know, I mean, it could be a bad computer. I don't know if you've covered that or not,
or covered to see if you're getting a signal from the computer or not.
There was an engine light on and then as I would drive or go up a hill, it would start flashing. So
I heard I was kind of critical. And then, you know, like three, four days, five days later,
and this one, it stops. I didn't even have a chance to get, to get a check. So I did pick up
another coil and actually a buddy of mine has one at his shop. He said to ground it with a little
clip wire and then plug it in before I take the other one off. That's the only thing left I'm
going to try. Now we've got cold weather coming in. But I just might, if that don't work, I just might
bring it up to you. Here's, here's, here's what I'm going to offer you. Here's what I'm going to do.
I want you to, I want you to call me at my, the ridge location. Okay. Just because I read
ridge. Okay. I call me, just call me there, explain to my, my guys and I'll tell them as well,
explain to them that I spent with you. I will look at it. And again, I won't, I won't charge you to,
to, to look at it in the sense that let's just at least try to figure out what we're dealing with
and what we're up against, right? Because you've told this is the second time I, you're kind of
ready to pull your hair out. Let me just look at it and let, and, you know, we'll go from there.
There's been, there's been the, you know, several customers. I had a gentleman that used to call me
that was having an issue and he lived in Maysville, Kentucky and he drove up and I took care of them.
So my, my goal is not to, you know, get you in there and make it a aha. Hey, you know,
I've looked at your car. Now you, I mean, all this might, no, I'm here to help. So let me,
I appreciate that. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. I mean, that's, you know,
that in my opinion is what sets us apart. I understand that a lot of repair shops have
a bad rap, but that's not us. I mean, we're on third generation. I want to help people out.
That's why I come in here every Saturday to try to help people out. So you call me at the ridge
location there. Leave me a message with your number. I will call you back and then I will
look at it and then we'll try to, we'll, we'll get to the bottom. I'll get to the bottom of it.
It's not an, you know, it's not an open checkbook like, Hey, Hey, I'm going to spend 10 days and
I'm going to spend all your money. That's not what I'm here to do. Yeah. I'll look at it.
Have an opinion on what, where we need to go. You and I can have that discussion
and then we'll try to fix it. You know, these cars are so sophisticated nowadays.
You know, sometimes I mean, sometimes even my guys don't always get it right. And, you know,
we're, we're looking for, for other help, but
Yeah. Even back in 2005, they're sophisticated. I'm to drive you crazy.
Yeah. Absolutely. So you call, call me this week at Ridge. They're probably going to say I'm not
in because usually I'm bouncing back and forth to both shops, but you leave me a message. They'll
put it on my desk. I will call you. We'll set up the time to have that thing come in and then
we'll get it looked at. And then you and I will discuss how we, how we move forward. Okay.
Awesome. Awesome. Thank you. I appreciate that.
Absolutely. Yes, sir. Thanks for the call. Have a happy new year. So
all right. Taking your phone calls and number to call 513-749-5500. Coming up, we have Matt.

Taking your car questions, the number to call 513-749-5500. That number again, 513-749-5500
As I stated at the beginning of the show, starting 2026, I want to help you prolong and
get more life out of your vehicle. It's so difficult for me to watch and this is the
God's honest truth. It's so hard for me to watch. People spend so much money on these vehicles.
I had one in on Friday. The gentleman brought his car into us probably about two months ago
or a month ago. He had just bought it. It's a Volkswagen Touareg and just bought it for his
daughter. Now it's used. It wasn't brand new. It was used and he said, Hey, look, you know,
the oil lights on. We changed the oil. Make sure it didn't have any leaks. It did not have any leaks.
Okay. Now we asked him to then come back in about a month, month and a half for us to check it.
We did put dye in the oil just to see if it did leak out. Where was it leaking out at?
He brought it back on Friday and he's actually a neighbor of mine. Good great guy, great family,
good customer. It only had two quarts of oil in it. It's supposed to hold five. It only had two
in a month and a half. And I mean, it's just an absolutely no leaks. None whatsoever. The car's
burning it. It's a hard conversation to have to call somebody and say, Hey, look, that car that
you just bought for your daughter last year is burning through oil like nobody's business.
It's not leaking it. It's burning it. And you set your son or your daughter out into the world and
they're off to college or away to college or maybe starting a new career or whatnot. And
they're having to deal with, it's something that we don't talk about enough. Everybody always talks
about buying a new car, but we don't talk enough about how do we get life out of it and what do
we do in the sense of keeping it going? And I'm here to tell you that these vehicles, most of the
vehicles that are, I would probably, there's no, this is just my opinion. But I bet 75% of the
vehicles that are on the road today, newer vehicles, 2000, probably 2015 and up, 2015 and up. So,
you know, a 10 year old car, right? 75% of them probably use burn oil. And everybody tells you
to go farther, go farther. You don't have to change all that. Just change it once a year.
Change it every 10,000. Wait for the car, the light come on. I'm not here to tell you to come
get your oil changed every month, but you really need to think about it. And that's how you keep
your car out on the road. So, all right, let's go to the phones. We've got Matt. Hey, Matt, welcome
to the car show. How can I help? Yeah, I just wanted to tell you about our situation with our
cars. Our newest car is a 2004. Okay. And our oldest one's a 97. There you go. And then there's a
couple, couple in a minute. And then I do, I've been able to do all the work on the cars. My wife
helps me out. She goes on the internet, looks on the YouTubes and stuff like that, gets the videos
of the situation that I need to work on. There you go. And then I'll go and look at it. She'll
go to the parts, and then I'll put them on. And it's been working out. I've been retired for like
four years. It's been, I've, we haven't had to take the cars to any shop in four years because
I've been able to do, you know, I do like, I just did the struts on the back of one of my cars.
And I got that done. I've done brakes, disc brakes. I've done
drum brakes. Oh, I had a line, a brake line below. So I thought, well, I'll take that to the guy down
the road there. And I called him up and I told him what it is. And he didn't want to do it.
I know it was because he had so much other work. And you know, that can be kind of tricky. So I
went and went out and got some lines and got my tube bender. And I did it and it's been running
ever since and I haven't had any brake issues. Okay. So you can do it. You know, it can be done.
People can do it. And I've been working in industrial maintenance. So I've had that background. That
really helps out a lot. But yeah, and it's good. Although I was going to ask you something about
the oil changes. Now we got, we got four cars. And it's just me and my wife. So we rotate them
around. We'll use this car a little bit, we use that car a little bit, you know, rotate around.
So we have one that we drive more than others. That one will get like 3000 miles a year. So that
when I change the oil once a year, I'll change that oil. Now the other cars only get about 1000
miles. And I was doing them once a year, but then I thought, well, maybe I'll push it off to every
year and a half. So I'll say they'll go maybe 1200 miles in a year and a half. And then I change
your oil. Is that, do you think that's okay? Yeah, that's, that's okay. Yeah. No, I, I, you know,
that would be fine as long as you're maintaining year and a half would be fine.
You know, I wouldn't go more than that. I typically, even if you don't drive a vehicle,
I would like to see it changed once a year, but year and a half is not going to be like detrimental.
And you're like, you're going to have to, you know, you'll be fine. It'll be fine. So
like I said, if you're not hitting that 3000 a mile mark in a year, I'd like to see it changed
once a year, but that's okay. You know, my more or less is just, it's the people that are daily
driving it that are driving, you know, two, three, four, 5000 miles in, you know, in five months or
three months and not changing in or not checking it. So, but no, that would be fine. So let me ask
you your vehicles, your 04 and your 97, what, what types of vehicles are they?
Okay. The 04 is a Hyundai Sonata. Okay. And the 97 is a
Grand Marquis. Okay. Man. Yeah, that was, those Grand Marquis were probably, in my opinion,
probably one of the best, the best vehicles that was ever built. Those things, you could,
I've never ever seen anybody kill one of those things. That, that engine was the best, in my
opinion, this is my opinion, but best engine Ford ever built. The best.
Yeah, that 97, it'll, it'll, you can, you hit the gas and that thing goes. It's, it's good. I mean,
that's actually the best car because it's been in the garage more than the rest of them.
That's actually the best looking car. There's not a spot of rust on the outside.
Yeah. I mean, that's, I'd like to go back in those days. I wish I would have,
I wish I could go back in history and grab up every one of those things because,
man, those things, the ride is so comfortable. They're, they, oh man, they just last forever.
And so, well, listen, I appreciate the phone call and you have, continue to listen and you
have a great 2026. Yeah, you too. Thanks for that. Take care. Bye-bye. I wish I could go back in
history and try to snatch up some of those cars. Now, I do have, you know, I have an older truck.
It's a 2007, which is, that's a sore subject, but I, you know, I have my second vehicle. I'm 41
years old. I still have, I still own the second vehicle I ever purchased in my life. So the first
one I had was a 91 Camry. Wish I would have had it, but again, I was, I was 18 years old and,
and I sold it because I needed the money to buy the new car, which I still currently own today.
It's a 2000 Honda Civic sitting in my garage right now. My wife would love for me to get it
out of the garage and sell it, but, you know, that's when they really built things still last.
And that thing, I, I guarantee you when I leave here, I can go in the garage and fire that thing
up. It'll start, it starts up every single time. And so, you know, just like Matt stated,
his oldest, his newest cars in 04, the oldest ones in 97, those Graham Marquise and those,
the Crown Vex and the Marquise, man, they were, or Lincoln Town Car, it was all pretty much the
same build, but man, those things lasted forever. I mean, that typically that was your, your cab
car. If you ever got into a cab, it would be your, your town car, your Marquise, great vehicle.
So that's, that's how you, like he stated, brake lines blue, a lot of repair shops will not do
brake lines. It's kind of tedious, long work. We do it, but we do not, we, when we do it at
Donovan's, we replace them all, right? You have four brake lines. If one blue, the rest of them
are ready to blow, right? So we're not going to do just one and send you out on the road. It's a
safety concern. So unfortunately, if you bring your car to Donovan's with a blown brake line,
we're going to replace all of them. And I understand that people might not have that
type of money say, Hey, Dan, I can't do that. I understand that perfectly understand that. But
I can't put my R name behind something. I can't put one brake line on the car knowing that the
other three are just as brittle and braille as brittle as the rest of them and send your, your,
your wife or you or your child down the road, because the other ones can blow. I just had a
vehicle not too long ago and I got to take a break. But I just had one the other day, not too
long ago. We put one on it and just pulling it out of the garage. It blew another line. Just
pulling it out, not driving it. Just pulling it out because the technician needed the bay to,
to do some other work on other cars. Just pulling it out. He blew another one, right? I can't,
you know, that's a safety concern. You need breaks, right? So what I would tell you and what I'd
recommend, if you do have brake line issues, you replace them all. We're always going to
recommend them all. If you can't do that, I understand that. But I can't put my name behind
it and send your, your, you or your loved ones out on the road with a potential brake line issue.
It's, it's too much of a safety concern. So just think about that. If you, if you do have a blown
brake line issue, I recommend, and I would tell you whether you bring it to me or any other shop,
you need to replace them all. It's important and you want to make sure that you protect the
safety of your, you, your loved ones and others as well. So it's important. So all right. Taking

You're listening to the car show on 55K RC. I'm Dane Donovan from Donovan's Auto and Tire Center.
And again, if you're in the Tri-State, Cincinnati, Tri-State, Ohio area, right?
You can look us up at DonovanTire.com. Find your nearest location. And we always promise to do
our very, very best and make sure that we take care of you. And again, the honest choice, we always,
always try to give you the best guidance that we can, right? But everybody's situation is different.
Some people financially might have the opportunity to just go buy a new car. Some people don't have
that opportunity. Some people can fix a new car. Some people have to fix an old car, right?
So we always, always try to accommodate the best that we possibly can. But just know that
sometimes, again, as I stated at the last segment, we always have to do what's right
and safest for you, your family and the customer, right? We can't send you out the door and trying to
put compression fittings on a brake line. That's a no-no. I'm not, you can do it, but we're not
going to do it. We're going to do what's right. We're going to do what's best for the customer,
for you and your family, right? So again, just because your car does need a brake line or what
not, it does not mean that you need to get rid of it. It just means that you're going to have to
invest some money into it. I understand that it might not be ideal at that moment, but look at
the alternative. Go out and buy a $50,000 car or spend $2,000 and put brake lines on your old car.
I'd put the brake lines and fix the old car. I really would. I have, like I said, I still own
my vehicle that I bought when I was 18 years old, right? We're going to focus on in 2026
how we can prolong the life of our vehicle and save money. I'm going to try to do that every
single week. Listen, I really do appreciate all the phone calls. Everybody have a great weekend.
I will be back next Saturday to answer all of your phone calls. Thank you so much for listening.
Hope everybody has a great day. You're listening to the car show on 55KRC, The Talk.
