"Cause I mean that that that engine configuration that specifically that V8 architecture has been around for a very long time. And then that same V8 in the in the LC 500. So it would have that incidental lighter card 17180 kilos over a 2 bit lighter than A2 tonne."
"It would only be Japan or where you can register left hand drive vehicles and it's a bit of a status symbol, so they don't have to worry about it for there. And yeah, I suppose it's just not a market they're chasing, I suppose. Are they are they F-150 size or are they like range of size? It was slightly smaller range."
"...t scaffolding in the back, but I had a look at an I30 and on the weekend I didn't realise that they've ..."

Have you got anyone you want to think?
Just myself and now we'll do the after hours, don't just.
John, what would you do for? Thanksgiving.
There. OK.
And because there's not a supercar, there is.
It's not. Ordinary perfection comes in the
form of two letters A&U. Long live my Ltd.
Welcome to Car Talk. It's Tuesday night here on 9
April 9. NW Affirm.
It's me. Maddie Jay online with Mr. David

So that's what's my weekend was happening.
Not much car stuff, but something even more important.
Other updates. Yes.
Other applies exactly right. Not going to be the end of car
stuff though, is it Scotty? No, no.
No definitely not so so Scotty you now you know you know engaged me and David asked you before the show what does the what's your ring look like and obviously doesn't work that way but how did you do it you know was it special or was it you keeping that quiet and you know I'm I'm I'm just full happy for you man it's it's that's great. News.
Thank you so much. It's was on Saturday.
It was just first up was at dinner and then a hideout, a cinema room. Where we watched a movie that
was that we watched on our first date so oht very nice and romantic and then at the end of the movies when I proposed.
Very nice, Scotty. Did she have an?
Inkling, do you reckon? Saturday night, but you when you
go. You had some kind of ideas, but
not 100%. Only because I don't organise
things, so that kind of made it a bit a little bit obvious there. Was it on a special occasion,
like an anniversary or no, No. OK.
No, well done on a special date or anything like that.
It was just when I organised it and put it on the calendar and she's like, oh, you don't organise things.
I thought, oh, you know, I'm just trying to deter and say, oh, I just thought, you know, I'll have a go.
I don't really organise things, So what are you?
Organising that, buddy. Alright, Scotty, so.
Buy steaks in it. Yeah.
Well, Scotty, now there is officially no excuse 31 has to happen. Wedding cards.
Even wedding card. Yeah, wedding car.
Well, the awesome thing is she wants classic Mustangs.
OHS That's. Cool.
OK, Ken. Sound like I am.
I'm fine with that. A bit of a Mustang fan anyway,
so. Very good.
No, I I can see you just saying you know I know where to do this get get 4 AU Falcons and then you know just put the you know do that and and and you sort it so so, so.
They'll get you to drive the 31 for me, Maddie, and just do some skids. I can gladly do that for you,
Scotty. But congratulations, Mayor, we
are, you know, all of us here. I know I speak for myself, but
but as far as well for all you guys, I think, I think we're up for either. That's great news.
So Congrats. Mate, thank you very, very much.
We also joined by Patrick. What's going on, man?
Not much. Just again, congratulations,
Scotty, I saw on Facebook. So very happy for you.
But you know, everything's all good.
Yeah, just working along. Just another day, another dollar
trying. To get by, what about
yourselves? Very much the same, my friend.
Very much the same. I mean, nothing is exciting as
Scotty currently, that's for sure.
But anyway, yeah, you you, you win the Internet today, Scotty.
Well done. So.
Well done on that. Let's get into some car updates.
Obviously Scotty's had a busy week, so he's probably got nothing. You got?
Nothing but Mr. David Prince, you were first on.
You will start with you. Care updates.
I'm trying to think back to the weekend and exactly what we did.
We had a gearbox on Saturday. Oh, and actually, I've.
Got 2. Two, well, not surprising Honda
stories, but I have my garage here at the moment and 1974 Civic. That isn't mine.
It belongs to somebody else, but I'm doing a little bit of work on it. But at 2.
Owner car with the service book still in the passenger in the club, in the glove box. Very, very much.
Original one I've seen in a long time needs some love to bring it back from the from the edge. It was a long and circuitous
route that had actually arrived with the club member.
It was started with a phone call from a neighbour.
Who had whose father had bought it brand new, and now it belonged to a little old lady in Black Rock.
Who had it for the last 27 years wanted to get rid of it because her neighbour didn't like the sound of it and and is a little.
Unhinged, sadly, and would come and threaten her whenever he heard it starts. So she ended up getting rid of,
you know, wanting it to go quickly and easily.
I didn't have the room or the inclination at that time, but as I said, this other person in the club did and went down a long and involved Troy. I won't bore you with it, but it
involved another person getting involved.
That person then passing away, then the daughter getting involved. Everything.
Third or fourth hand photos of a rusty, you know, bit of car that slipped by the beach for the last four looks.
Life, basically. Turning out to not be that rusty
at all or confined to 1 panel and drives like well, I was going to say brand new car. That's probably overstating it,
but for a 49 year old Civic it drives pretty damn well.
Little too speed hondamatic and with yeah tinkering away with it, making it look, taking it from looking like not much in the photos with all the old accoutrements, that bit of gaffer tape around the back window to keep the water leaks out to yeah, looking quite respectable with not very much effort so. That's been fun.
I always love bringing them back from the from the brink and talk of that I've this late this afternoon I actually sent some photos through to to the chat before I we liberated from a garage and 86 Civic which belongs to my son but it's been sitting in a garage in Camberwell for 10 years.
It's actually an SSI which is an A full JDM import with the ZC twin Cam 1600 injected engine in it which was actually brought out here for terrace that was never registered when it was first brought out. It was going to be raced.
By a guy from a story Honda in Oakley called Andrew Newton, who bought it out to race for the Layton House team in the 80s when they were doing I think it. Was.
Production car or business sports today I think it was the production car series. Anyway, it he he started work on
it and then Honda bought out the CRX in the in the the 2nd Gen CRX which was the first Gen in Australia and he thought all now to make much better race car than an AH civic hatch.
So he parked it at the back of the dealership where it sat for a couple of years. Three guys in the club bought
the car together and put it all back together and registered it and one of those guys drove it for about 10 or 12 years.
It was the first car my son ever went around a racetrack in because we had a. Attract up at Winton.
Very quick car. It's sort of a limited slip
differential and quite a few nice other little bits on it.
Anyway, Long story short, my son ended up buying it from the guy when he when it came time to sell it and he just before he happened to go and live in Japan for a few years.
So it's languished in his garage.
As I said, nearly ten years movement or today.
Help the Prado up to it. The tyres still had air in them,
the brakes weren't seized or anything like that.
Pulled it up the driveway, put on a truck and it's off to be brought back to life. So another one saved.
So we've had of saving old week this week.
Civic Saving Week. Saving week.
My civic duty, you might say, Matthew.
So you did that, Mister Prince. That was pretty good.
Yeah, yeah, predictable, predictable.
But yeah, that's, that's, that's it.
I'm going away on a bit of a holiday there next week, so madly flat out with work and yeah.
Trying to fit everything else in around that.
So that's the extent of the car updates I think at the minute.
Lovely, lovely. What time is it now, Though an
email could come through. You never know.
Alarm. Not a whole lot car update wise
for me, just been like neglecting the MX5 and the STI just because I haven't had much reason to go driving around, just using the Max as the day of the house.
That's collecting more and more case.
Still has been a year since we've had it.
I think we're coming up on a year, in about a month, and it's already at 17 Thousand Oaks. That's alright.
I think Mr Edward Bunting I did. I did tell some of the story.
I I believe I was listening to the podcast I missed.
We came to have a look at the good old Falcon and made a purchase of it. I'll tell you a quick pre story
to that. So I got the car cleaned, just
wanted to present as well as I could and also so wasn't hiding anything that there's a couple spots across here and there.
So I wanted to be able to see those properly you know doing to deal with a friend you don't know be conning them.
And once I had the the the whole car cleaned up but I said, well the engines a bit dirty shouldn't we just give that a cleaner said, you know remember just got a brain surgery you're awfully active have have it don't he's like Oh no, you know look more presentable just give a quick close down.
These engines are quite tightly sealed.
And I'm like, you know, one of the things I say at car washes is engine washer owners risk. You sure you're he's like, yeah,
what? What's the worst that could
happen? Sound like you're the boss.
Spread it down with a nice degree.
So you know, use the hose with just the shower setting so no high pressure and everything looks nice and clean.
Started up and it starts off just fine and then start missing. I'm like, Oh dear, you know this
doesn't sound very good. I'm trying to sell this cards,
you know in the next couple days and here we are with the car that doesn't you know is is missing like crazy.
So I try to take it for drive, trying to, you know, you get nice and warm so that any other, you know, odd patches of water might dry up. That didn't really work.
And I assumed that water was in the spark plug holes, which it definitely was. So yeah, I had to basically get
that little plastic thing off with the hex nuts.
There's one all the way at the back that there's it's almost impossible to reach unless you have children's hands, which I unfortunately don't. And if you do get a kit to get
in the back there, I don't know how to strength actually undo the nuts. So just, you know, great
engineering forward, finally get all those off, not undoing the the coil packs and you can hear the worker, you know, make that weird sludgy kind of sound. And I see the clocks.
I'm like, OK, there's a lot of water in there.
Let me see. I just try and like, put it, put
a big old paper towel in there, trying to soak it up.
It's not working thankfully. We have an air compressor that
picked up from the farm, but the air regulator part was missing so the the IT would build up pressure and it's all full of pressure. We can't get any pressure out of
the actual nozzle, so the little little cap was missing from the pressure regulator. So what I have to do is get like
a screwdriver and pushes hard like could at roughly 100 PSI so it would release that level of pressure.
So, so again I said how about how about this Dad, how I hold it down and you go and go into these five poles with this nozzle from the air compressor and blow out the water.
He's. Like, no, no.
You do that part, I'll hold it down.
And I said again, you just got out of brain surgery.
You're sure you want to be, you know, pushing them down with 100 pounds of force onto this little thing.
And he's like, no, I'll do that part.
OK, fine. So thankfully I was able to blow
out all those little sparkling holes.
There's a lot of water on some of them, especially the last two. Count them all up.
I'm going to, you know, put everything back together, button up and I end up breaking a hose clamp because I over tightened it at this point. It's been a while.
It's like I think 5 minutes away when this happens.
So I said all right, it just this is what happened, this is the story. Takes the test drive, you know,
see what happens. The code was OK.
It still was stuttering a little bit, but nowhere near as what it was before. And you know it was having test
drive Meltzer and by the time he came back for it actually had gone to the auto parts store, got the hose clamp and put the hose clamp on the air intake that was missing.
And so we drove off with it apparently can't drive just fine. So I think we did fix the, the
stuttering issue there. I'm quite happy about that and
I'm happy with the price they gave.
I think there's capacity in there once he gets the couple of issues buttoned up. So it can also make a little bit
of money on it, which is my ideal goal.
You know, I don't want to just be like, you know, it's on to a friend. It's having to take care of the
headache of dealing with, you know, people come to look at it all that jazz, considering Dad not being in work and, you know, being at home now due to his health, that's, you know, the ideal situation for me as well. So that it will have to take it
off your hands and, you know, give us reasonable price.
And I'm happy for him to make a little bit extra for his office.
Well, let's say all up and down in Canberra on the weekend, so.
It's got running fine. Yeah, and I'm sure we'll enjoy
the the cheaper price of the gas compared to petrol.
Talking to him earlier, and he didn't say from finding guests was not as easy up there as he thought it would be, so had to do a little bit of ringing around rather than a driving around looking. Rob and Holly race with you
guys. Traffic for the identified A DPF
philtre issue with my transit. It's not going to come until the
18th of September. So maybe it will be fixed, maybe
not. And I said So what about the
sinks issue with the HC and everything else?
Well, we don't know anything about that.
You need to talk to the dealer. So call the dealer.
Dealer goes on, I don't know, said.
Well, you better know because it's not working.
So that's good old Ford, good old transit.
Sorry, not good old transit. Good two weeks old transit.
Yeah, yeah, Good. New transit.
Wait, so so Rob, just want to clarify you you took it back when that when the dealership called you that you were like you like it's cooked, you took it back to to Knox?
And then? And then what happened after
that? So they said no.
Well, well, we have to have a look at it.
So I'm driving around all day on their own with their loan car, waiting to see what they're gonna look at.
And I'll ring them up they go, Well, what's going on?
I go, oh, we've VOR your vehicle.
So you know the vehicle off road.
What? So why have you taken off the
road? Oh, there's a major electrical
issue with it. And we think it's a DPF sensor
or this or that. OK, alright, so when is it going
to be fixed? We don't know.
So I'll wait a whole week and I rang him up.
A week later they go, well, we don't know when the parts are coming. We've got no idea, don't know
how long it's going to be. They're not gonna phone call
yesterday out of the blue from Ford saying it's going to be on the 18th before we get the part in from into the country.
And we'll fit the part and we'll let you know when it's done.
And I said that's great, but there's more to it than just a sensor or the the DPF philtre. So we'll see what how it unfolds
as it goes along. That's it's a brand new car.
Yeah, we know that. We all know that.
And I'm driving a very reliable Hilux.
So. I'm very happy.
That their loan car. Well, now they wouldn't give me
a loan. Yeah, because they didn't have
any long casts. They said 3-4 to assist so I
could ring him up and organise a hire car.
So I had a choice of getting a Fiat van because they didn't have a Transit van or a a Ford Ranger or Everest or something.
So I said I'll just give me the highlights, I'll be happy with that. So it's not does most of what I
need to do, but not everything. So I like loading it up and
putting things in and doing things.
And I got a house, I got to renovate and so I need to use the van. But anyway.
Will do. Will do for the interim.
That's crazy, man. So that's that.
We saw the Jimmy. We went to a old German car show
2 weeks 2 weekends ago at Calder Park.
That was a pretty big car show held by the BMW club and Holly and I won the best Mercedes at the show.
Oh, nice. Yeah.
So we won an award, so we're pretty happy with that.
What? What Car was this in?
This was in the. 560 the 66 S Yeah, the 300C.
Keep the two the 2 door mint green one.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so yeah, it's.
So it was pretty good news from a very nice cars there, very nice cars. I wouldn't think ours would have
won it ours. It's got a nice colour
combination and looks great, but there are other cars that were a bit more low key but were more closer to concourse condition whereas mine really wasn't. Or as wasn't Lindsay Fox had his
going there, and one of his. Crystals 8300 cells.
Um, but there's some awesome cars, some some great looking VW's and some of the older BMW's and porches and they have the new rough Rd horse, all wheel drive Decker.
So they had that there on display.
So it's a big day, beautiful day.
So that was the weekend before last and then?
This weekend I went to the Father's Day show at Saint Kilda. How's that?
That was massive. It was chockers.
He couldn't move down Ackland St It was under the shoulder.
It was just crazy. So they had to, you know, the
Mad Max cars, the Mustang clubs, the HSV club, they had all the classics. Great assortment of cars right
throughout, so and they're pretty high in high quality cars. So I think they're quite
selective in which cars they put where.
Yeah, some very nice cars, yeah. So not as many European cars.
I mean, they had, you know, Ferraris and Porsches in one section, but a lot of the American cars in Australian cars, yeah, Mad Max cars were there.
And Dukes of Hazard. Starsky and Hutch.
Um, is it James say? It's.
It's a Ford Grand Torino, yeah. Great Trino.
Yeah. So they had that there, Yeah.
So they had a few cars, so it was pretty good.
Very cool. Yeah, and what else was
happening? Nothing much else.
Nice. Oh well, look at that.
A GT. We're getting close, but we're
still about 40 grand short. But you know, in my SC speak
getting prepped for paint this hopefully this week so.
Awesome. Finally.
Finally. Yeah, so.
You weren't getting original painting on that where you're going slightly different. We were talking about slightly
dark shade of grey, but we're going.
Originally we decided to stick it to original.
It's just go for the silver. It's much as I like that
slightly more modern shade of silver, but yeah, I am better off keeping it original, so I'll do that.
What else? There's no other cars where
we've been working on? No.
Just got rid of a whole lot of car parts over the last few weeks. Wheels, mainly different from
various cars I've had over the years.
Had them all stocked in the garage.
Trying to clean the garage out a little bit.
Could actually get around P-76 now, so.
So that's good, yeah. So projects are happening, you
know, bits and pieces are getting there.
So still just pushing and pushing.
Yeah. Yeah.
Nice. Very good.
That's it Patrick. Been awhile, man.
Updates with you. Has been a minute, has been a
good while. But in that wall nothing has
happened man. Just so costly talking along not
no new changes has happened. I mean, ah, sorry, really
changed. I did try to.
I didn't blow a fuse on on the weekend, which was fun because of my stupid mistake. But that's all whole story who
aren't getting into it. But yeah, besides that, no, the
car cars going good so far. I have planned for ideas what to
do with it. I do want to put a tray on it
and whatnot. But slightly, slightly.
It's gonna get some funds up first before anything and yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm well, I'm every time I see
a, you know, in this Chase commercial, I think flinging it to you. But I'm gonna look at the price
that I'm like yeah, so so I'm keeping an eye out for you Patrick. Don't stress keeping you.
Appreciate it. Make that does the exact same
thing and just bombards my phone like I'll be at work and like no joke he would send me like 20 you know like links to like you know any as chats like bro this is cheap this is cheap.
I'm like dude 40 grand is not cheating man.
It's not I'm not paying that much so I'm but I appreciate it.
So and you know, hopefully maybe one day I'll find something not in a rush at the moment. Just gonna wait and see what
happens. Yeah.
Nice. Really nice update with me.
Little bit on the laser this week actually.
So I on Friday morning you know I I I I've liked all these Rickers Facebook pages as as as as you do because you know I've got nothing else but in my life to to like and at laser SR2 came up at Geelong Jollies and I was like I was like OK you know having a look And then I saw the roof that had the original factory roof racks which are made for the rails which are like you. I have not seen a set in
probably 10 years for sale. And obtainium made of unobtanium
and I was like ohhhhh my goodness so called the wrecker and surprisingly hard to do. You gotta it's you can't really
call them direct you have to that you call a number and then they give you another number for the place So then now you can call them so they can you can go check if it's there.
So can you can just leave it there.
And they were like yeah they're there it's going to cost you 220 bucks if we take them off or 70 bucks if you come get them off.
And I'm like I will come get them off.
So so I at 3:00 on the dot as soon as the last kid walked out the the the the door. I hopped in my car and I flew to
Geelong and I I I said I I called Steph and said hey can you meet me at the like the 711 on the interchange between.
Yeah. You know sorry before the the
the the Westgate freeway drop off my toolbox.
So she met me there. I got my toolbox it chirped to
Geelong made it there and then I I took him off being brittle plastic you know because it's just it's seen you know almost 25 years of of sun a few parts did you know crack and break.
But I believe I know somebody that can possibly help me with that. Yes.
So I I put all the like I I took some little lunch.
What's it called? The.
The sandwich bag, you know like the the little, the little bags with me. So when they whenever they
broke, I put them all in that one, in all the pieces in the one each. So they're all in separate bags,
So. Perfect, perfect.
Because I had a feeling I'm like.
Light bullets left and right, front, back, absolutely, absolutely. So I had to make sure that
because I knew I was gonna break them I'm like there's no way they're not gonna break. And I was super gentle and you
just hear the click and then you and then I'm like oh and then you see the the thing snapping like you know and and I was using the you know all the right tools and everything so but the people on the on the on the on the page did did warn warn me said they will break so so I knew that but I got a few extra bits and pieces off that car as well.
I need to go back again, hopefully this Saturday and get some of the other bits and pieces that you know that I didn't get a chance to get because I was in the parts of the ladies like oh we we've closed about 10 minutes ago.
I'm like I could not even hear you cause I was right at the back of the yard so I have to take all my stuff and go there and pay it and and head home but I wanted to get you know some some rare bits and pieces off that car which which is good.
So it's gonna go back and get some extra little bits of interior trim and and things which is which will tidy up my car once it's ready for its respray and put it all on then it'll look you know really really good which I'm looking forward to so that will be the plan with that drove the typhoon and the Fiesta are both on the weekend so I drove the Fiesta on Saturday and the typing on the Sunday.
I gave them a good run and that was yeah that was that was a bit of fun from and yeah hopefully from what runner said the scamp should be done mid second week of school holiday so when I get back of roadworthy perfect timing from Japan and you know enjoy it and basically won't annoy Rob anymore with it that's that's for sure So yeah I can't I honestly can't wait to drive it I've been I've been you know trimming a little bit to to to
get around it but anyway gentleman that is my car updates moving on to tonight's topic gentlemen.
I've been on a bit of a how do you explain it's rabbit hole of looking at cars that we cannot get in Australia.
Neil of the reason I'm getting to do this is because these are brand new cars I'm talking about and and I Stephanie's you know after after a new car and and so we've been looking and test driving and having having a sort of a few different things and in you know in what we have as our selection we've got like a whole bunch of SUV but there are a whole bunch of other cars you know around the world in America in in Europe and in Asia that we don't get that I think would be would be really really awesome for us to get. So I compiled a bit of a list of
of cars that I would want to you know that I'd love to have but but we we don't get them here in Australia and for various reasons obviously not made right hand drive or you know or don't mean emissions or or or what have you.
So there are there are a few there are a few cars that that you know tick all those because that don't meet any of those criteria. But I'd like to get your
thoughts on cars that you would like to get out without a brand new cars that you can buy brand new from a dealership anywhere in the world today that you could that you could possibly have in Australia one day. So my first one was the Lexus
IS500 which is available in the United States of Freedom and they've got basically it's basically the same file letter that came in the IMF and GSF and RCF.
But it's in an interest in in an IAS body which is, which is, which is cool, which is a nice guy, good size sedan, glorious ending V8. And the fact that they bring
into Australia when it's available in a lot of other parts of the world, it's kind of says all you need to know about our buying at the moment here where we just wanting to sell SUV's. So that's.
The reason they don't sell it here, I mean the GSF and the RCF weren't big sellers and neither was the ISF to be to be fair.
But saying that it's available everywhere else like surely they could have been like yeah, well we can, we can give it to you like you know like if you really want it.
Cause I mean that that that engine configuration that specifically that V8 architecture has been around for a very long time. And then that same V8 in the in
the LC 500. So it would have that incidental
lighter card 17180 kilos over a 2 bit lighter than A2 tonne.
You know, LLC would, would have been, would have been a real ride and I think would have been a bit of a great car to own Texas reliability or some V8 high revving soundtrack.
What more could you know, could you ask for?
But obviously it's too much when we don't get in Australia.
What about you guys? What?
What are cars that that you'd love to get, that have brought you can buy brand new somewhere in the world, but you cannot get them here? Personally, I reckon that, and
I've seen them, the right up song, this must be pretty good is the Honda Ridgeline. Yeah.
Yeah. They sell them in Canada and
everywhere else, but not again. Yeah.
Then I make them in left hand drive, right hand drive.
Yeah. That's what they've always said.
It would only be Japan or where you can register left hand drive vehicles and it's a bit of a status symbol, so they don't have to worry about it for there.
And yeah, I suppose it's just not a market they're chasing, I suppose. Are they are they F-150 size or
are they like range of size? It was slightly smaller range.
Probably bigger maybe, yeah. Range, Yeah.
Isn't there one small there's a? That's, that's that's a that's
there's a Toyota 4 wheel drive as well as a few sizes in Toyota, OK. It's also slightly bigger than
the Ranger. OK well there you go's got the
Tundra and they still sell a forerunner over there I believe Tacoma that's it. Tacoma.
Yeah correct that's it. So you so you Tacoma is more
your range of size and your tongue is more F-150 size from from what I've from what I've gathered so is that card David just made in America I mean you you you'd know being the the the Honda guru says that American only Kyle or.
Yes, yeah. Yeah.
American design and American Bill there you go.
Original one was basically from what I understand basically an MDX floor pan. So the three point 5V6, don't
think they've ever done them in a diesel and the real time 4 wheel drive sort of from that was been a fixture since since the 90s really the development of.
That just like before, you know you came by normal S anymore in Australia. Alexis alright, they stop
selling. This is she's.
Coming by just 300 players anymore there you go.
That's a that shows how how bad we are at the moment.
Kind of get an IRS which which was, which was a staple of Lexus's range for you know 20 something years.
So kind of makes no sense. But anyway.
Would it be serious here? Now look at these cars are
offering here. You can't even buy here.
That is true. That is, that is absolutely.
True. There are 4, isn't it?
Two year or three? Oh, you could say.
They assure us it's getting better.
But yeah, I think it remains to be seen.
I know two people have been waiting 18 months 3 hours cross hybrid. Boys Azuka, Jimmy 4 door.
But you don't know when you're going to get it and whether it's going to come yet. Five years.
I'm sorry. Probably still hasn't got my
pockets in the doors room. Yeah.
It still won't have any pockets for for cups and you drink snow anyway, so there's a lot of cars that we they're offering here, but we're still not getting, let alone cars that we don't get.
It all would be nice to have a Bronco, wouldn't it?
Yeah, those are those on my list.
I think the Bronco is one of the coolest looking new cars and you can get the Bronco I believe with the same 1.5 litre 3
cylinder that you can get in my Fiesta.
Which is weird. Yeah, which is quite nuts.
So they gotta Bronco and Bronco sport.
I'm not sure if it comes in the Bronco sport although we're both in the Bronco. But yeah there's people on the
Bronco forums online when I was looking up you know the the Bronco and all the specs is yeah, the the same.
You know they call it the dragon engine in the in the in the Bronco, which I find hilarious. And then there's one God has
done like 90,000 miles in it in like 2 years and he's like yeah it's been great. So if anything, my Fiesta should
be somewhat OK I. Hope you would mention that
would be as popular as an EcoBoost Mustang wouldn't you You just wouldn't would you like like I just I don't know if you if you if you do it if you could get it wrong but I think the broker is actually really awesome looking.
I think it the fact you can take the doors off and everything and they come with door bags you put your your door in the bag which is just weird but anyway it's it's a really kind of cool car.
It's probably the only four that I actually buy now to be honest with you that that's that actually kind of gives me meaning meaning of ooh that's actually kind of cool.
If she might my words if whatever brought here which I know they weren't I would buy one because it's just it's ridiculously cool. But yeah you can you guys can
like get me 100 bucks and if it does come here then I'll owe you money. But the that would be the the
only other forward I would actually consider buying these days because the rest of their range is a bit kind of mediocre even Rob agrees with his with his transits.
So yeah so that was definitely a must.
Have you seen the new Bronco in real life, Rob, when you went to the States last? No, awesome.
We went in 2018. Yeah, I think we're done here
though. Usually they want like 4.
Australia had one like or had one around.
That law, four days or. Something, something, yes, that
I saw somewhere. Pretty sure they got one that
one in the morning. Maybe we saw it at the Geelong
revival. Yeah, somewhere.
I can't remember, so I'm pretty sure I've seen something.
There's one floating around. Yeah, 4 Australians testing it,
driving around with the yellow one.
It comes on. The Broncos sport that engine.
Sorry. The the 1.5 but but the standard
the standard Bronco would be would be very cool would be actually. Have a replication as well they
do, which is pretty sick. I do kind of like it.
But yeah, that was definitely on my list.
What about you guys, Scotty, Patrick Alum and David Prince?
The Mazda 3 turbo Ah, yes, that's a good choice.
Yeah, that would be pretty cool if we got that.
But again, America only. Um, so I had that one.
Then I was thinking, my friend just just put before you went out to like Adam's been on the show before when he before he bought his new Mazda, he was in the Mazda dealership and he test driver 6 and his wife wanted the six five.
So they went for the six five. But he asked the guy, he's like
when's the Mazda 3 turbo coming? He's he's like, oh we've got a
marker for audio. It's not coming.
When we would decide I'm gonna take it, he's like why wouldn't you like the you know MPs OK and and things.
So I guess it's just another way of like Mesa kind of culling their performance range here in Australia and you know pretty much daily performance they've got here as an MX5.
So kind of, yeah, the enthusiast is out of the out of the bag there, but anyway, it's got to continue.
Corolla waggons. Ooh yeah.
Yeah, that would be cool. Don't they have the all drive?
Corolla That's the cross. Now that's cross.
That's just gonna cross. The waggons and overseas.
OK, OK, but similar. Much more, much better looking.
OK. And technically actually Scotty,
you can buy them because you can buy them as grey imports because they do bring them in as hybrids.
Now there's a few in Australia and there's going OK, it's getting more of them coming through, but I have seen a couple for sale and there they're a great looking waggon.
Is it the Corolla fielder or is that the previous generation?
I think that was the previous generation.
Yeah. And they were sort of boxy,
funny looking thing they were, yeah.
Where is the the current? I think it's is it a touring
waggon? Corolla touring Waggon.
Anyway, it's got the the shop front on it and if it's a hybrid version and you can bring anything in basically.
Now under the new regs, imagine imagine I GR waggon Corolla waggon horse. That was sick.
It'll be like an Evo waggon all over again later, You know, fat arches. And it'd be so tough.
Yeah, Toyota, you're doing cool things.
We've got. We've got another one for you.
Do that. So so I want to be.
Just cake cars in general. We want some little zippy cars.
Getting around more than the SUV's is is all we get, so it's disappointing. Then one Rs.
Sorry. I was just gonna say given that
for a lot of these cars they built for markets that are you know left hand drive right so we can't have them words with cars you're really not you not kind of held back by that And it could be a thing that if you wanna push vehicles in the city you know, you could be like alright if you take a car that's you know more inner suburban inner city area I guess you're you know less penalised for it. Anyway, I'm not saying we go the
whole UK route of the ultra low emission vehicle thing.
As soon as you bloody driveway you find not so the thing, but at least encouraging smaller. Efficient cars in the city if
you are going to use a car there rather than that work in the parking spot Exactly. Rather than, as we've seen now
people with Dodge around 15 hundreds.
You know, trying to find parking on on Lygon St You know when you know it's not going to. Happen.
Sticks out in the underground parking in the parking lots in the city like it won't even fit. And that's just a basic small 4
door Subaru and doesn't fit. Sticks out.
But who really wants to drive into the city anyway?
Yeah, I don't. I don't like it.
Like it but. Sometimes if you go to Disney
Drive for snippets, it can be an easy night.
Get home, you know, rather than have to take public transport during the call it undesirably hours.
The Suzuki or again the same places that that are bringing in some of the new grey imports under the rules is a few different places now, but a couple of places are bringing in the Suzuki space Spacey gear, which is a just A1 box thing, but it comes with A660CC hybrid engine.
So I mean they're rated about 2.9 litres per 100K or
something, you know, totally ridiculous.
So I mean, you're not going to get.
Much cheaper to run than than that, really.
Short of going electric, but then we've discussed at length.
The that is an option so I think a hybrid car would would be very cool OK cars they just make sense like in the in the city right like they just they just make sense they they easy they're zippy they're they don't take up much space congestion would be a lot less I mean you heard it first guys make the move by cake everybody that's listening bike.
Car. Almost throw down the one that I
think David would probably is one day's list and.
He was gonna mention anyway, but the Acura Integra type S, especially the most. Such a beautiful car and it has,
it's basically, you know, the Civic Type R, but in my opinion looks nicer. You know, it's it's not all out
there. Obviously the subtype is gone
for a certain demographic as well, whereas with the Acura you've got, you've got basically the same performance, if a little more kilowatts depending on who you know measures it.
But you've also got just the car that looks relatively just nice and sleek is the best way to describe it.
Only interior just. Saying that's.
What, Yeah, yeah, Yeah. For the more mature owner that
doesn't necessarily want the attention but is it is very content knowing what they've got, you know and that is exactly what the Acura Integra type does.
But it's such a shame that it's obviously it's only built in America. So they would never make it for,
you know, the right hand drawer pocket.
And I'd say it'd be a real issue trying to give it to you.
But you know, we can always, always trying.
That's all my list. I think that I know that was on
my list as well and I think it's.
I think you're you're you said it's better looking.
I I would agree with you. I think it's a.
It's very svelt and it's it's actually quite a quite a nice looking car and you're getting all luxury amenities which which you don't get in a in as much as in a Type R and when they test it on a track back to back with a typo, it did the exact same time around the racetrack. So you know that's says all you
need to know that it's still as capable.
Yeah, I would completely agree with that, Patrick.
I'm gonna throw. Sorry.
OK, I'm going to throw one that I don't think you would expect, but it's probably to be blamed by the Lincoln lawyer because I'm watching on Netflix. But since we already have a
bunch of, you know silly SUV's here anyway, something like the the Lincoln Aviator which is not as excessively large as a Navigator is well, that wouldn't be amiss here in Australia.
I feel it's a luxurious VI feel like Lincoln's always kind of sat you know to slide it like Cadillac has always been its rival. But I mean like Helix always had
that more recognition where it was Lincoln, you know, it's also for sports luxury kind of branch and that makes them cool looking cars obviously all built on the same platform.
But given that, if if I was to be cruising around a big old SUV like you know and Everest or something, I think could be happier in in something like an aviator, it's got, you know, in this case I think it's A7 seater and it comes with like hybrid options as well and it's about as large as probably a cheap Grand Cherokee, which they fit here, They don't fit comfortably here, but they do fit here. So it's not like you're getting
excessively large cars, but just there's something about how just Lincoln's they do the interiors and everything else.
It's got like a nice sophisticated feel, but it's not. Also, you know when you get into
something, let's just say European, there's almost that, hmm business to it. Whereas with the American
Lizardman, I feel it's it's more deserved and I'll probably get a angering a lot of people just saying this.
But like I said, if you're gonna buy a pointless SUV, we might as well have these ones here as well, because they're nice looking, they're very nice interiors and you know, just something nice and forward. Just Google it.
You sure it's not, you know, colour siding?
Do you take that away, David? For all I know, it might be
given how the Palisades look these days.
Looks like I gotta say. That's your Range Rover Sport
wheels. Yeah, pretty much.
Yeah. That's that.
That's it. We're awful.
Never get it now. Yeah.
Patrick Yeah, now pretty much my arm, My cards are ready to be answered from Scotty Anna album. First one is definitely a
massive 3 Turbo. I think.
I'm obviously with massive erection becoming a lot more say luxury and high ends. I think it would be a big
competitor, especially towards you know, like the golf over here. I think it would definitely
punch punch punches with the Golf.
Pretty good here and obviously still getting that sport performance in the remnants of the old MSR.
Wish we had that and as well the element and primarch.
You and everyone else. The Integra.
I know, I don't know. Look quite a bit of height you
know of it being a four door you know not what people consider to Integra. But then again that I think we
still have that demographic here that people want you know say a tie part but not a tie part. At the same time you don't want
something too flashy. Granted I do think the civic
type partners to be tyre pile looks better looks looks actually really nice. But again you know we'd love to
have you know both car sales. So yeah, definitely my my picks
would be at the Maslow and the Honda for sure.
I've got one for you that might shock you guys.
It is the Cadillac CT5. 3 black wing So it is a sport sedan
that's aimed at the M3. That's a lot cheaper than M3.
You've got a 6.2 litre supercharged V8 and you've got
the option of a 6 speed manual or 10 speed auto.
And apparently it made to go around corners really well tuned at the Nurburgring. All that good, all that good
stuff. And I think it looks quite good.
It just looks like a, you know, like a nice sedan.
And you know, I mean, you can just say Ohta like got a black wing. You said it costs less than an
M3 makes the same power as an M3.
He makes more, actually. More power than M.
Three. Have to double check that but.
Weighs more than most mountains. It is true it.
Is the sitcom now hundred? I agree it's a sicker.
I ran them a lot, but I don't know give it performance was, I think they're good in a straight line for sure.
But if you want, you know, say around a track or something like, you know, windy roads or whatnot, I think if you're putting up any European Council part, yeah, I'd probably be left away way behind. But, you know, credits are kind
Correct 3.4 seconds, zero to 60 or in Australia 0 to 100 and
basically it's yeah it looks a quick I'll find how much it weighs and because to be fair the new the new beams aren't exactly right either. So I'd love to I'd love to know
how much it weighs. But yeah I I think it looks
really really cool and I would yeah I would possibly you know curb weight. It weighs 4000 thousand 92
pounds, which is in, you know, real metrics.
It is 856 kilos. OK, so good.
Have you done a Falcon? So the 2022 BMW M3 Competition M
Drive MX Dr weighs in at a total of 17180 kilos, so there's really not that much in between them to be fair.
The extent that's the real drive and all will drive the extra stuff all. Drive drive one.
Yeah. Correct.
Yeah. That 100 kills a lot of the two
will drive. Alright, so it'll be a lot of.
There you go. And my last one, you guys are
gonna laugh. You guys gonna be like, we don't
want you to run the show anymore.
Matthew is the new Prius. I think the new Prius looks
really good. Add that one in.
I think actually looks really. Good.
I think it would be cool. You're saying we don't get them?
No. We don't.
We don't sell the pressure at all anymore.
So, well, yeah, OK, somebody else actually saw the thing.
The new Passat is waggon only, not coming here.
Yeah, that's a good looking car. The yeah.
So I I I quite like the the new, the new company.
I'm saying this the new. Was it called a Prius?
But you know it's I mean I could say IAT Rock Cabriolet, which is just that would be the worst decision ever.
And then the fact that car exists is a is a disgrace.
But the yeah, the prayers like I had a guy at work talk to me about it. He's like, oh you know I'd love
the new Prius, always looked at him.
I'm like, are you for real? And he's like no look at it.
And I looked at it was like I actually, it's a good looking car And he's like he's like we're not selling it here.
I'm like, yeah, you're right. We answering it.
We haven't told praise in a while so he was pretty devastated because he's like he's like I'd love I'd he's like I if I could own one I'd own that and.
It's it looks good. It doesn't look like a shoe box
like the original prayers did. So yeah, he he quite, quite
liked it. But yeah, that's that's maybe
just me being being a bit idiotic.
And the other. Ones guys from being in.
Europe. Recently, Pretty much everything
you can buy over there comes in a manual as well, whatever it is, whatever. Type, size, space, SUV's, luxury
cars. You can order manual.
You know there are very few cars there over there that aren't available as a manual. And also waggons like I said.
Like. Waggons, course, yeah.
Collagen acts. The new Passat waggon, They're
coming here. Any Mercedes Waggon?
No waggons issue. So I mean.
We're such a small market we we've said this before on the podcast and it just comes comes back to that.
That's why we don't get the choice, that's why you know the the we're continually being crowded out by more brands coming in and they're all competing for the smallest.
The small piece of the pie. Having said that, I did hear on
the radio today that they've they've sold 115,000 cars in Australia, I think it was last month.
New cars that which is 15% up on the previous year.
So they're actually selling a lot of cars.
There are some supply chains that are that are improving and significantly better than they were.
But yeah, Mr Toyota is not one of those still, it's they're still struggling with them. But yeah, I think, I think we're
a victim of the fact that we're that in the world scheme of things that's still pretty small market and to have as many different brands, it's not worth the manufacturers bringing a new model in that they've then got to supply parts for 10 years basically. Well, it's weird that you say
that because. We've got one of the biggest
range of brands here than anywhere in the world.
That's right. So so for.
Me that makes utter. No sense because like how these,
how these car companies able to, yeah, well we can sell you a freaking Skoda and A&A&A Cupra, but you know you've got these two cars that's what you choose from in.
In terms of that, it's like, what's the point?
You really coming into a crowd of mine, I think like almost 60 brands here, which is, which is something insane and like.
The the top ten brands are, you know, they sell quite well, but.
You know it's like I think Ford recently they they they've taken rent of a ship that they can just keep supplying ranges to us because we just can't stop seem to stop buying them because the the the demand is just ridiculous.
So from all accounts, yeah, you know, it's it's lost in all the tough sixty brands. But if you can't sell the car,
then what's the point? Yeah.
I was told by the dealer it's easier to.
Buy a Ranger Raptor now. Than it is in Excel XLT Ranger.
Really. Are you serious?
What the hell? I guess when.
People. Cars.
They're buying the cheaper ones. Since the consecutive interest
rate rises, who that did have the range of rappers on order have maybe, you know, changed their financial outlook and probably gonna cancel some orders as well?
Yeah, well, Patrick, your brother works.
At 4:00 right is. He still there?
Yeah. They still afford?
Yeah. What he said about that like is
he said he? Said it's a bit bit crazy in
terms of like, you know they're only selling ranges now and and and that all, yeah, pretty much I was speaking to.
Things on the weekend, all I saw they've got no stuck in nothing and literally the primary only car that only sell is just Rangers. And yeah, even like he he was
saying even just getting base models and you know, you're looking at it. Huge.
You know you know the time wait to get get him in you know so they've just got nothing and just the the the demand for him.
So yeah the only ones you could probably do get and like you know the ones you can get are you know demo cars but those demo cars do happen to be you know more high rent might as well the range. So yeah, I guess in that saying,
you know, trying to get a base model, you know, XL, XLT, Ranger up is far harder than getting, yeah, I'm like a wild track or?
You know something in the relevance of soft source of that, which is funny though, cause I said we've.
Got we've got over like over 60 brands I think here in Australia. Right.
And yet they offer some cars all over the world like that we can't get here. And for me that just makes no
sense. Like if you're offering it
somewhere, you know, at least give us the chance to to to get it. And but you're right, David.
You know, having the stock, the parts for 10 years and stuff, it makes a little bit of a logistical nightmare.
But then why come here, You know, why come sell cars you if you're only gonna if you're gonna do that.
The thing is, the supply chains changed.
Entirely. The Ford Transit say for
example, might trance that you you thought they would have a container load of every part of the available that could go wrong with that car. I don't think they have and I
don't think they will. Maybe they did.
And they've all gone wrong. And they've used all that stuff.
Yeah. All one of them, because they're
the country. Well, that's.
I mean, how many came to the country with with your Lord Rob?
Did you know or I was the only one on their list.
Are you serious? Yeah, Geez.
Well, OK, that that's. Really interesting that they
only did that that one. Is it because you ordered that
specific spec in size and stuff? Is that?
Is that the reason why or? Yeah, well, there wasn't any
short. Wheel bases or high roofs or
even low roof pipe, there's a lot of the the transit customs come through the small ones and there they had a delivery of the electric transit vans. And that would.
Just deliver it that they weren't ordered, so they delivered a whole batch of those to sell, hoping that they will sell for 120 something $1000, which no one's going to pay so.
Yeah. So there aren't many of them
around? Yeah, not at all.
Lost cause before we move on to the sorry the basically the the conquest. Sorry.
Guys, I just gotta leave early now.
Gonna head off now. I got something to do, but good
to see you. Good.
Good. Good to see.
You too, mate. Take care.
One less competitor for the quiz I'll be.
Back. I'll be back.
See you later mate. Here's.
One for you, the Hyundai. Santa Cruz they're they're
little they're little Ranger competitor in in terms of the.
The. This, this digital cable.
You you know kind of sector I think that's I think that's looks really quick and looks like a Tucson on the front end and yeah that that's a cool one that that I'd like them to see because it's give some competition and probably be at least reliable unlike some other other ones that we've been hearing about but. Any loss hired nail Kia put.
Out a van. Sort of caddy sized van, I
reckon that would go nuts to. They'd sell gazillions.
I don't think that that put DG. In him, Mr Prince.
Just on that point. Though I mean when you were
talking before about, you know say Adam Cooper and all that, they're all available in manual. Everyone you can buy here is
available as a manual overseas and immediately removes half the problem and yeah, that'd be cracking car in about some of those. It's not tonight.
So he he can't dispute that, so. No, I I agree.
It it'd be there'd be a little bit of car as a manual without less issues. Anyway, guys is it's time for
the quiz. 10 questions about some bonus questions.
You know how it works. Let's get into it.
So we've got David playing, we've got Rob and Harley playing, we've got Scotty playing and we've got Alan playing. All.
Right, guys, you ready for the? Quiz.
I'm ready. Question one.
The AU series of Tickford Ford V Eights.
And the 4X rate to 20 all had a engines that were what?
Dated David. Hi leaders incorrect.
Well. Alan.
They're 2 and 20 kilowatts incorrect.
Scott, Scott. They're all winds of V eights.
They were all Winds of Eight, but that's not.
The answer I'm looking for so I'll I'll I'll put .5 for you
for Scotty cause that that is that is true.
So the tick for the ones are like the high end you got your high end you know your teeth T series and your and your you Later on they put that engine one of those engines in the X right in the 220. Any idea?
I've got an idea but. I'll go after the other guys.
I won't get the point but. Direct injection?
I don't know. No, incorrect.
Dave, what are? You gonna say?
But they had built. They were.
All him built, that is correct. They were all men built.
Question two What Car has recently had huge rumours to return for Honda's been all over the interwebs currently in my my Internet always been blowing up with it.
You must be doing on a different.
Internet, but to me there's. It's from a back to.
Back to. Just the apparently.
They've done. I've heard they've trademarked
the name again and and. And.
This is this is worldwide, right?
Correct. Yeah.
The Prelude Prelude is absolutely.
Correct. Well then that is that that is
big raps on that coming back, which I don't know how much how true it is, but apparently if it comes back, it's gonna come back as like a hybrid or electric car.
So we will will there be an ATV excuse?
Me. Right.
Question 3. A Ford.
Explorer police car in the. USA has just been retired with a
record amount of staggering miles.
How many miles has it accumulated?
I'll give closest to. I'll go, I'll go 6. 150,650
thousand kilometre. Or miles.
We said miles to me. Miles.
Yeah, so. 650,000. Miles, says David.
Wait. That's like Camilla keys almost,
yeah, thereabouts. It's 800 and something.
I think I'm gonna say a straight.
Half a mil in mile. Scotty so apparently.
Holds the record and it's just been retired and they couldn't believe how it's, you know how many did it in the space of like 12 years or something. So just for some context, they,
they usually get rid of them at about 100,000 miles, OK.
So, so that's for context and it's well past that.
Ellen. Ellen.
I feel you guys have way too much faith in these American engines. They know U that you know, they
know barriers. I I don't think they're making
it close to a million cars. I reckon it's blurry.
So you said I get room and 100,000 right would be 350,358?
350,000 miles 350,000 miles is Ellen.
And Robin Harley. Any garage extreme we're.
Gonna say 800,000 miles, 800,000 miles.
So. This car in particular did
484,000 miles, which is equivalent to 619,000 kilometres, so Scotty was closest too.
So he gets the chocolates when Scotty.
That's a lot of. Far outscore checking this.
This getting engaged must agree with his ability to score in quizzes. He's he's on fire, ladies and.
Gentlemen, bonus question. For it to accumulate so many
miles. Which border was it patrolling?
Scott Scott's Mexican border Mexican.
Border is incorrect. It's a state border.
Should have said the. State Border oht David.
Alan got in there. California Yeah, I'll play that
album. California and Arizona.
So it is. All it did was live on the
highway and just. Drive up.
There be so much desert in those two.
Spots. Yeah, you're right.
Absolutely. Well, you have, you've driven
like those days, right, when you been in all the way through to Sierra. Nevadas up through the Death
Valley and it's a long, long Rd. My second.
Guess would have been somewhere. In Texas, if they like you know
up at the top part there was like say Texas is very big.
You going through? Snow then down, down to the
desert. It's just a long stretch through
that California, Nevada stretch. Big long, long ride drive
question. Four Rd safety campaigners here
in Australia last month have requested for what?
So the road safety campaigners in Australia last month have put forward a request for what Vic? I just it just said you know
right take the campaigners and yes it was Australian side.
So, Scott, Scott. I don't know if this was recent.
But speed limiters? Uh, it's incorrect.
Yeah, but I'm assuming. That that.
Anyway. At the very safe guess I would,
dear. Road safety is fairly here, just
cut speed. Everyone should be going 0
kilometres now. Was it wasn't something around
on? Your head allowing small cars.
You're on the money. There just if you give me a bit
more Rob in. The capital.
Cities. Well, on incorrect Melbourne.
Incorrect, incorrect. OK, it's a push forward to get
more smaller cars back, but there's there's, there's a reason why Is it congestion? Incorrect leaves who's left to
who's left to guess? Cody I think I have a guest
still. I already have.
One, I guess. Oh yeah, Alan.
Yep. Alright, small cars in school.
Zones. So when they hit the kids,
they're dies quickly. That is a good guess, but it's
incorrect. They've proposed a tax on SUV's
and dual cab utes. Because yeah.
Wow there. They they wanna.
Introduce people back into smaller, more efficient cars.
So they're like, yeah, but you have to also have to have small cars in the market. Right.
You're correct. Yeah.
Yeah, that's that. How does that help with?
Safety. Yeah, exactly right.
Yeah, but. Here's the bonus.
Question. It it means if your child.
Has hit by somebody in the next TV.
They're most likely gonna be wealthier and so they can pay the bills a bit better. Bonus question to that guys, why
have they requested this? Something about the.
Environment. Incorrect Alan, I think have.
There been more recent, I guess, accidents involving, I guess, SUV's more recently. Yeah, I'll tell you that.
I'll pay. I'll pay that alarm to cut the
road toll because it's gone up since the since the sale of SUV's and Joe Cabinets. So the the, the road toll is
going up again just because there's more of them on the road and more. Vehicles on the road, yeah.
And the fact that I can do more damage and stuff because of their size. So that is the one that you
thought they'd learned? Let's look at the American.
You know, it's like saying more. People drown when they eat ice
cream. Well, obviously because.
They go in more than within half an hour of eating it.
I mean, it's obvious, isn't it? You gotta wait half an hour.
You eat ice through the summer time when you.
Go for a swim. Well, I guess, I guess the
further understanding. Of that is that with more safety
features in cars and everything else, we would be expecting a slow decline in Rd fatalities. So that manager and I guess that
uptick was probably just the the amount of accidents that may be happening probably the same front less.
It's probably that the impact of each accident is more likely resulting in death rather than just an injury you have caused more. Also also the the fact of like,
oh I own a bigger car it must be safer is not for so you know that that also too comes comes into play.
You see the people who usually die around the.
Old shitty car. Yeah, no, like.
Like like further reason, can't afford it to upgrade to something more safe more safer and these ones like you see old comment or old you know Yaris or something you know that's.
And what? And what's hidden in SUV
highlighted the ball back. Highlights of the ball by Yeah,
Hey, Everest, the. Safety with the Hilux is.
Second to none basic model. And every time you're not paying
attention and you look the other way or something, it'll go up and they'll back off and pull you back into the line.
He tried exit you trying. To exit without 20 indicator on,
yeah, you know, force you back into the light.
I think what's happened with Rob now that is that they're gonna dual cab Ute. He just has to speed up like
you. You're racing virtually
everybody, so everybody gets out of your way.
You must have the line. You must get this.
It's cool. Yeah, and and he drives.
Cuts differently, That's. I could see why they drive him
different. Because you you think he owned a
road? Would you drive over you?
Without. Fever You, you and Alex
together. Can I can I just can I just say
in the on West year ownership and in 17,000 keys not once has my DPF light come on just say we need to because.
I like I. I'd imagine it is.
It is an issue because so many people drive it so recklessly where they just launching it offline and constantly just you're rolling coal in a way that the DPF gets choked up.
You just drive like a normal human being.
The cars surprisingly fine. I think there is what comes on
all the time. I think you're like a typical.
You driver? Yeah, bring it back.
You bring this into it, the right to council safety.
Road Rd Safety Council of Australian Tax, SUV's and and Dual Cabus. Does that mean I get a subsidy
for the N1? Well they've painted to drive
the one in the city? Should I should I agree, I
think, think that follows. Arizona Changeless?
What was that rope Dave gets? A penalty because.
He's got a dangerous car. It's too small.
Yeah. Well, everybody, I really need
you. Ask anyone you know you like
which. Coach will be hit by ideally
answer is none, but if they're picking I'm probably picking the one over in forever or something.
It's true. You would forever at Salem.
You you're not a fan school check three Scotty on 1.5
question five when Honda. Released the FL 5 Civic Type R
here in Australia. How quickly did the first
allocation sell out? Oh, alem, within 24 hours, you
are. Correct.
Alan, within 24 hours, That is absolutely correct.
You were on fire. Somebody put him out much within
24 hours, though. Was the first allocation in
Vernon comments for the for the 1st 18 months of of the first batch of availability question six what Toyota has recently been updated in Japan. David.
The Curology app. That is absolutely correct,
David. Well, I'm it's updated.
It's a brand new car. I don't get it.
Anyway, question seven in the. Aussie movie running on empty
which is a car based movie. The quote green is nice is
mentioned, but he mentions it about What Car.
It was a piece here and he sticks in it, but it wasn't.
No, it wasn't a piece 76 year old.
I think it was one in it. I think there is one in it.
Yeah, there is one in it. Panel then.
Incorrect. Probably the most famous line
from the movie. Green is good, did you say?
Green is nice. Green is nice was.
David, was there a a Fiesta St in there?
I wish I was, but no, it's it's it's incorrect.
Mark U.S. court. Mark to Escort?
Incorrect. That would be cool.
I I do like an old Ford Escort, that means.
Scotty and Alan have got a chance to have a guess.
So is this an Aussie movie? It is.
An Aussie movie like in Australia?
Now, in China, of course, no Scandinavia.
You can. You can.
Have an amazing movie made in America.
Crocodile Dundee, you're just, you know, let let the man ask the questions. I feel relevant so I'll just say
I don't. There's some kind of Fort
Falcon. Yeah, it was a Falcon, it was a
it was a GTH phase three. Now the quote comes along
because the guy is blind right. So the guy who they go to see
the car is blind and he asked, he asked the owner of the car what colour is it and it's red and and he says oh it's green mate. And he's like, oh, green, Green
is nice and he just walks away. So, so, so yeah, I'll pay, I'll
pay that on you. You'll get, you'll get the point
for that, I guess is going to be a common also.
Kingswood bonus question though. What card did the blind they
drive and own in the film you got?
If you guys are gonna question, do you define the trick question because. Your hands are like that,
supposed to drive, correct? Yeah, correct.
He just drops in the desert. That's what drives Rob.
I reckon it's Chevy. Yeah, I'll pay that.
It was $0.50. It was a blown 57 Chevy.
Again. They just run everything over.
So he was just allowed to drive in the desert.
I was sorry. It's a, it's.
A classic Aussie film. You gotta watch it.
It's a it's it's got a whole bunch of old Aussie cars in there and and and some really cool stuff.
So yeah, question eight. One of the first Holden cars
believed to have been built and owned by the wife of the company director. So Miss Holden has been
purchased by the South Australian government for display at the National Motor Museum.
How much was it acquired for? So this is one of the early FX
holdings, one of the first ones ever made.
How much was it acquired for by the the National Motor Museum?
Read this till day. There was the. 1st or the 2nd?
Correct. Yeah.
There was a bit of dispute over, but it I mean it's it was it was owned by the, you know Miss Holden, essentially the the the director of the company. Basically it was either the
first or second one built, but you know that's one of the first ones ever made. How much did the South
Australian government purchase it for display at the National Motor Motor Museum, which we all love in birdwood?
I think about 285,285, says Mr Prince.
I was thinking 3. 8380, says Scotty.
So Robin, alum, Rob, Harley and Alam to guess, yeah, go to 70.
270, says Robbies, Undies on the cut.
He's undercut. You there, David?
Does the museum have a lot of money or like government?
Funded. So it's it's the government
purchased it for display at the money Museum cause because of the the, the, the significance that the historical significance of this car but it's just like a regular at the time.
It was just like a regular. Yeah, hold on.
Right. Which is an effect like a.
OK. Goes well 26260.
The undercutting game has worked for you Alan.
It was $250,000 OHS. Wow.
I was gonna go lower. So, so the game of undercutting
was has worked in your favour? Alarm some something up.
Anyway, moving on up the first time I'm guessing.
No, not the first time. No question. 9 The company BYOD
or Build Your Dreams was launched in which decade?
OHS Alan got in there. First, the 20. 10s. 20. 10s is
incorrect. David, David.
Was it the sorry which? Decade.
Which decade? Yeah, well, just after a decade,
this decade of this century. Incorrect Rob.
Rob Erin is the 90s. It was the 90s, Rob.
Well done. They've been around for a while.
They are now officially China's largest automotive manufacturer and company. So they've they've been around a
long time and you know they didn't, they didn't originally sell electric cars just putting it out there.
They they they they did sell other cars.
Question 10. BMW originally Built What?
Dial, David. Originally, yeah.
The first thing So what when? When David finishes, his guess
robs in there and they. Craft.
It was aircraft. Well done.
Well, you were you gonna say that Rob was there and.
Did you have a one was close by? Was the motorcycle?
Yeah, correct. That's what followed.
So it was that then they went to cars after that.
So yeah, the the, the logos. Got the propeller plane Alright,
School check. Gentleman, Rob and Holly and
one. Scotty on 1.5, David on three.
And tonight's We're Not on a grand total of 6.
Mr Callum. Deep sigh.
What a comeback. Well done.
It's only because Patrick's not here.
That's true? Any reason?
You wanted. Helium.
Make sure Patrick knows that as well.
Alan, I say this is Scotty normally, but but you like to say shenanigans. Is anyone that you would like to
thank Patrick for leaving? Yeah.
There you go. Yeah, you had it first and also
and also. Mr Edward hunting as well for
not being here and always saying you know his name 1st and then taking she's, you know extra precious second question.
Very, very good. Well done.
Goodwin there Alarm. Can you believe that Toyota has
already updated the the Corolla GR and it's been like less than a year on sale that that's is it, is it a big update or is it just. It's like structurally they put
more, they're more like, I think like bolts in the chassis or something to make it even more stiff and make it into a performance go. I really like what Toyota is
doing. They are, they've really come
back after being misery for a long time.
So very, very, very cool. Come on, Mitsubishi.
To the year has. Come out with roll cages and
everything. So what was that Rob Yaris, GR?
Does it come out with roll? Cage.
No, it doesn't. But the the Maurizio edition of
the Corolla GI believe has no receipt.
I think it's got some scaffolding in the back, I believe. Yeah.
No receipt, Yeah. So I'm not too sure we've got
scaffolding in the back, but I had a look at an I30 and on the weekend I didn't realise that they've got in the in the where you put the back seat down there's just behind the back there is extra bracing there for.
So like they are proper, proper little fighter and I didn't like it generally. I think that's a podcast.
All good. We'll start with some plugs.
We'll go around the screens. David Prince.

Days. That breakdown trying to think
what else? Rob Hiluxes man with the Van
Hiluxes with DPF issues. PF issues all the time, I'm
telling you. What I thought the more you.
Fresh it the better. It should be.
You're gonna try to casually can't.
He's got one hand out the window cigarette in the other hand.
So get out of get out of your way.
You're you're a Hilux driver. Down Rob.
That's it. That's how you have to be.
My eye. My eye.
No. How's it gonna stoke on?
It needs to snow. Cool.
And then you can do the exhaust and then get all trains and then I'll actually offroaders to making all the road noise.
This face lift kit you can hear or something, yeah.
You can hear it covered. Rental company with Snorkel Big.
Tyres. Rob, by the way, I'm still gonna
give you your paint and your whistle.
I've still got that. So I'll have to somehow meet up

Your short game of getting onto the green because most of the time that's where your ball is going to be.
So practise. The sandwiches you pitching
wedge wedges, all of them says look like your gig andies and you. Pull them up to your balls or
something. So.
So not, not the not the eating wedges, not the giving wedgies.
It's the it's the, you know, the club, wedge, wedge.
Sandwich. Oh yeah.
Somebody did. Mention the sand.
Wedge. Love it.
