"know, the, the Fiesta, and I mentioned this on the show before, like I, I take it on some on our favourite roads, which you boys know where that is. And it is, you know, Chad and I were having a bit of a battle one time and, and, you know, and, and he's got a performance LSD in his, in his, you know, I 30 N and, you know, just to, to put your foot down out of a corner and it just doesn't, it just hooks and goes. It's, it's, it's feel, it's the weirdest but most satisfying feeling you could ever feel."
"...t all our chance. It was the 3rd generation Honda Accord 2 door coupe. OK, cool. Oh."

There's a professional radio. There was this front wheel drive
so. Have you got anyone you want to
thank? Just myself.
And now I do the after hours. Gentlemen, what would you go
for? They see us in there.
OK, and because it's not a super duck.
It is. It's not.
Automatic perfection comes in the form of two letters.
A&U Long live My Ltd. Welcome to Car Talk.
It's Tuesday here in 98.9 NW FM. It's being Maddie J on line with
Mr. David Prince, Mr Scudido Johnson, Mr Chad De Bell and Mr
Alan Deep Singh. How are you, gentlemen?
Good. Doing well.
Thank you, Pretty. Good.
Thank you. Good to see all your lovely
faces this this fine Tuesday evening.
I think this might be possibly our last one for the year.
I've got, I've got a work meeting next Tuesday and then the one after that. I think it's Christmas Eve,
Christmas Eve, Yeah. So I think I, I won't be in this
state. So I think, I think this might
be our, our final Christmas special for the, for the, for the holiday period. Oh ho ho.
Ho ho ho all the way gentlemen. Good to see all the all of you.
Let's crack on with some car updates.
Mr Alamdeep Singh updates with you had the you had the UWX all last week? No, I didn't have it for the
whole week, unfortunately, just for the Friday and the bit of the Saturday, which was, again, pretty fun.
This week's been pretty boring, but I have been noticing.
Now, Maddie, I've got a bone to pick with you.
I've been noticing a Type R at work lately.
You have. She's been driving it, yes.
And I've been informed that she's not able to drive it as much because somebody comes to her house after work and then takes her car and puts it in the garage and then it gets blocked by other cars. Just put some context.
She's like to me, I don't like to park the car in the garage my, myself because it's quite a tight fit.
So she's she's all about making sure it goes in there safe and sound. I'm like, OK, I'm happy to do
that again. So this had nothing to do with
the fact that one day it was going to rain.
So you came to her workplace, took her car?
No. And left her the car?
Clearly not. No, no, she he's she's talking
porky pies as. Yeah, as you, as you would know,
because it sounds to me like somebody's trying to protect a future investment. No, I'm not that.
I'm not that that cruel. It's it's a car I can sit and
rein and be well, I'm glad to see it more at work.
Well, I said to her, I'm telling you to drive it.
It's her car. She needs to drive it.
So. But it's yeah, that's that's the
first bone you got to pick with me.
Yeah, that that was the main one.
Just before you continue, we've had.
A There's a lot of school. We've been joined by the one
only Riz actor. How are you Riz?
Good to see you man, been too long.
Has been too long dance the the only time I'm finding to join you guys I'm very close to matter your work Oh really not saying I'm at your work I'm at the airport but.
You're. The airport but but you know,
I'm saying good to be on. Thank you for the invite every
week, but I'm really happy to be on.
So good to see everyone. Good to see you too, man.
We'll see you. We'll circle back to you in a
second. I'll updates with you.
I maybe once again driving a truck for work.
OK, cool. So it may happen next week that
I'll take a truck to Tasmania. She's OK.
So it'll be a road trip, but the road trip I envisioned, but a road trip nonetheless. So if you hear about a truck
rolling over with glass in it in Tasmania, it wasn't me.
It wasn't me. It was the the Tasmanian devil
that crossed the road that I was trying to avoid.
The Patty Melon, Yeah. They're endangered, you know.
Exactly. So, So I was trying to protect
the animals, but I think there's a couple of booking issues that need to be taken care of. But like I said, at first trip
to Tassie, I always did want to make it like a kind of driving trip. And I think there might be a
benefit to going in a truck because you're sitting higher up, you get to see more of the scenery.
Well, hopefully I'll be focusing on the road enough.
But yeah, you know, Tiger, Tiger Tasmania alum style.
That's just that's that's it. Let's let's assume that.
So I might try and actually I might try and take a camera and film some stuff. That'd be cool.
Yeah. Throw that up on the channel.
So look forward to that. Hopefully it all goes to plan.
Yeah. And I'll come back in one piece.
That upset? Yeah.
I heard people dangerous down there.
It's it's not safe, man. I've been there three times in
the last six months and I can tell you they don't treat us folks, if you know what I mean, the same.
Same. Yeah.
And he's he's not talking about the differences between mainlanders either. Oh, yeah.
So that's about it for me. Nice.
Rizzi Ross, man, good to see you back on the show.
So you're at, you're at Melbourne Airport.
I'm at Melbourne Airport. Rizzi, have you been randomly
selected for extra screening? For what training?
Extra screening. Oh, extra screening.
Plus I was going to say no, not today.
But yes, I'm off to China. Oh well.
For the third time in the last what is it, four months?
OK. So I will have more to report in
the coming weeks, but part of the trip involves spending a day at the Ningbo International Speedway.
Oh well. Which is one of my what it being
that once before and it is amazing driving some of the new lineup of vehicles that Zika will be bringing into the market in the next 12 months or so. Oh.
Yeah. So is Zika flying you over or
was it through the through the drill?
If yeah, if the Zikers flying me over, they're calling it their first annual, What's the right? Well, they in China, they call
him Kol, knowledgeable online leader.
Basically he's the same as an influencer, which I'm not.
So anyway. That's such a Chinese way of
saying that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's, that's that's what they call them online live stream.
And so that's what's happening. And it's supposed to be some
sort of a, I'm not sure who else is there, but from Australia there's about 6 people going, could be people from other countries, which I would be very surprised if there's not.
So first day is sort of just going to the Speedway and having a look at the what some of the new cars as well as the existing ones. And then the second day is
factory tours and something at their head office in Hangzhou and then flying back over the weekend.
Nice man. So you answered my question
earlier. How many days you're going to be
there? But how many hours is it to to
China from where you're going? So there are direct flights
every day finding out of Melbourne.
I'm actually not going with a direct flight because they want you to land in Ningbo. Usually you would fly straight
to Shanghai and it's about 10 hours and then you can drive down to Ningbo. But in this case, they want you
to sort of be there. But yeah, usually there's so
many flights coming out of Australia you don't even need a visa anymore. Really.
Yeah, you don't even need a visa to fly to China anymore if you've got an Australian or New Zealand passport.
And the first few times I went, first time, it wasn't even an option because the Chinese minister actually announced it in July and I went in June. And then this time around, yeah,
nothing was needed. They just gave me gave me the
thing and yeah, off the event. That's crazy dude.
That's actually really, really cool.
So, so you're, you're now going to be our international correspondent is so. NI hao ma, that's what I'm.
Here to represent. And then I fly back on Sunday
and Monday I'm in Sydney because X Peng is having their national launch at Sydney. They've got a, they've set up a
sort of the main showroom at Sydney Airport.
Used to be if anyone's flown into Sydney, there was used to be a big AMG dealership there and AMG is basically left it and went. So they've taken over.
Their C63 cells with the 4 cylinder haven't gone to plan so. It's very heavy.
It's so you know, Speaking of quickly on C63, is, is, is the C63 still around in your family, Maddie?
It is, but he's trying to sell it.
So if you know anybody that's interested, hit up.
Hit up a boy. Well, we gotta as you know,
there's no replacement for displacement.
That is true, but it's good to see you is like it's it's it's been a while. You're you're probably one of
the hardest working, busiest dudes I've ever seen in terms of this field. So like you're always you're
always groaning hard and making it happen.
So it's good to see you, man. And anyone that's interested
hashtag at grind up there is that's me I'm wondering.
Oh, no, it's good, man. It's how's everything else been
going? You've been, you've been well,
everything else is going to work.
Yeah, things are going well. I'm really excited about sort of
next year. It's been a bit slower to finish
things off. And next year we're going to
have so many new models and so many things happening in the space. And yeah, I'm pretty, pretty
excited about a variety of things coming.
I'm also thinking that, you know, some of the more traditional brands like Toyota launching quite a few, quite quite a few interesting products, which I think is quite good to see. They're looking very modern, the
new Land Cruiser and a whole lot of other sort of GR based products as well. And obviously, you know, Hyundai
with the N additions continue to add that up.
So Patrick, good to see you. Well, man.
Everyone in a while. Patrick's joined us.
How are you, Patrick, man? Good man reunion show it's.
It's the reunion show, like it's we're getting all the people that haven't been on in a while. But no, it's it's good to hear.
Riz. Now in terms of your cars,
you've sold the white 1 I believe, or the red 1?
So haven't sold any actually because the market sort of crashed and I'd love the new performance, but I think it's probably not a good time to sell.
So I've got my red one. The white one's still there as
well. Brothers moved back in.
So he sold the Volvo and he's got a live performance.
But I think next car would be something something smaller maybe maybe the new Tesla Model Q or whatever it's going to be called that should be out in the next spots.
Yeah, that'll be cool. Good to hear it, man.
We'll, we'll circle back. David, Print updates with you.
What? Since last week, our last
Wednesday night, we farewelled the the Z 360 hardtop that's been lurking around my garage for some time.
A club member snapped it up, I will say, and he drove his Chinese LDV deliver truck down from Queensland.
Called Uncle Ping, he calls it. And we managed to drive the Z
into the back of it, literally shut the doors and up he drove back to Queensland. So he was quite relieved because
if the LDV, he said he, he looked at all of those big vans he wanted because he, he'd done quite a bit of moving between Victoria and Queensland the last couple of years.
So he was sick of paying to, to the removalists.
So he he one of the big van and he read all the reviews and he said they're all they're all crap.
He decided to go with the cheapest one that he could get and see how he went. And it's been been good.
And anyway, he was quite relieved to be going home with a purple Zed sitting in the back of it, because if it did break down, he had a spare car pushed out and start again.
Well as, as Adrian would say, the Lebanese domestic vehicle has proved to be very good. It it was fine.
So that that was sad to see that go, but but happy because it's gone to a very appreciative home.
Now. This guy's had numerous weirdo
cars over the years. He's older than me.
He bought a bought a Golf LS brand new in 1976.
We, we talked about all sorts of car stories of things he's had all over the years. He used to have, he used to have
a house in Kew and was known colloquially in the car club as the the Japanese Gardens of Kew because it was actually littered with various 60s and 70s Hondas for many years.
And as he put up outside my place, I had to move two or three cars out of the garage to get the Z out.
So I thought I was sort of channelling him.
It was like the Japanese Gardens of Mount Waverley actually, because I think I had six in the front yard at one stage, so including the Z, so that was good.
Let's go on the we had a big weekend, we had a gearbox weekend with our spare parts place in Dingley for the club and then we had a had our Christmas break up on Sunday so I took the N1 to that. After that had to go and drop
something off up in the Dandenong so had a lovely drive through the mountains on Sunday afternoon.
That was a lot of fun in that car.
Met a new friend yesterday. Another, there's another N1
manual in Melbourne that was registered on Friday, so that's popped up over the weekend in actually, was it the Nugget?
Was it the Nugget Nationals Christmas party?
Chad, were you there? No, I didn't make it, but I saw
the car. It's really cool.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they were of course affected
by the same problem I had as far as the change in change of heart with the regulations. Regarding the side impact.
Their car was actually in the country, mine wasn't.
Mine was back in in Japan but theirs is a 2024 model so it was actually sitting at import revolution.
Technically not compliable because it was built after the change in regulations. So I haven't got the full inside
story, but from what I've been able to get from their posts, they actually applied to the Department of Infrastructure for an exemption to the ruling and managed to get it.
And it was registered last Friday.
So, you know, that would have been, there would have been quite a few sleepless nights there, I reckon, because the only option they really had was to either export it to New Zealand or export it back to Japan to resell because it was basically worth nothing here. But yeah, so we've had a few
messages backwards and forwards regarding wheels and stuff.
So that's been, that's been good.
So that turns out that's probably the the 4th manual I know of in the country. So they're still pretty rare,
but especially now effectively with the rules in place, you can only bring in the 2020 model big or up until October 2011.
So it's not a very big window that you can work with.
Yeah, I think that's all the car updates for me at the moment.
Oh, Scotty. The update's with you.
Me. Well, my plan on the weekend was
to look at the R31 and take a crack at it, but the Blade had other stories. No, no.
As I got a nothing mechanical or anything but I got a slow leak in one of the back tyres. It was dropping about two to
three PSI day. So I was like, I'll have a look
to see what happened because I know I hit a pretty big pothole once and I thought oh it better not be like a cracked rim or something. Took the wheel off and it was
about A10 mil nail in there, the small 1.
So I took that out and I had the repair kit for it, the puncture repair kit. And I thought I had all like the
whole kit but I was missing the main piece where you put the black. The plug and.
You stick it in. I couldn't find it anywhere.
I was like, no, so I think my brother to come and pick me up so I could go down and collect another kit.
So I grabbed that and while I was down there I grabbed some other car cleaning stuff. So I thought, ah, I'm going to
make a day of it and I'll spruce it up and give it a nice clean.
So I cleaned the inside and outside of the blade, just looking super sparkly does. It have a tyre pressure monitor,
was that telling you that it was?
No, no tyre pressure monitor. No, I knew something was up when
I go round and round about it was a bit squealy.
OK, yeah, I was like OK, it was either the front or the rears or something and yeah, looking at it I could tell I was like OK great. But the plug is completely
sealed. I did the whole soapy water
trick and sprayed it on there, not leaking anymore.
It's holding air. So that'll last me for a bit
longer before I wait for like a, you know, buy 3 tyres, get one free kind of special little pop. Up.
I don't buy 4 ties anymore, I'll make sure I get one for free.
Yeah, I think, I think Scotty Hand Cook has some specials on, but keep an eye out on Aussie bargains.
That's where all Ellen would know about this bargain hunters, AKA brown people like me go. I reckon there's that.
Or there were Black Friday specials at my car with the Pirellis. But.
You know, but you know, Pirelli is not everyone's tyre.
But yeah, we'll keep an eye out for you.
And Costco is usually running a special or two either on Michelins or Bridgestone's. And your boys always willing to
flex membership to help another, Yeah.
Legends, that was that pretty much ate through most of my day because then I had to move over and fix something else mechanical and fix the lawn mower.
So had to repair that one, that other vehicle there, the lawn mower and yeah, just by the end of it was already like 435 o'clock. So ran out of time to look at
the 31, unfortunately. Oh, I did have a little, well,
almost like a a mishap. So I was, I was coming home from
work and I'm going down Craigieburn Rd heading to the roundabout where you can go right and we'll take you to like Con Daguerre Rd. But left is the Somerton Rd that
bit. So I'm driving down there,
coming home and then some cars in front stop kind of suddenly, but not, not really that much. And so I had to jump on the
brake a little bit harder. So I'm jumping down on the brake
a bit harder than normal and car behind me.
He kind of did the same but wasn't paying as much attention.
I'm like looking at him going. Oh, you stop, you bugger.
He pulled up in time and then I'd say like maybe 2, like it was, there's a fair bit of time, maybe two or three seconds, and I start rolling and then bang, bang, bang, freak behind me.
It was some big. Van smashed into another car and
then smashed into the one that was behind me.
Yeah. So I just crept away from all of
that. Could have been a.
Crap or something, but I just crept away.
I heard all the crunching and crashing was like, oh that's not good and went around the roundabout when I'm going home.
That's divine interventions, Scotty.
Yeah, yeah. Keep distance and pay attention
people. As my dad would say, think your
head. Don't be a Dick head.
That's the way to do it. Just, you know, keep your eyes
on the road, please. Absolutely.
Scotty, when you said, when you said bang, bang, bang, I was thinking, is that the latest version of straight out of Dalton? Dalton and you, I mean, my boy
has also picked up cars from Dalton.
You know what it's like out there.
It's still pretty rough. Oh, man, you're going to you're
going to run away, dude. Runaways past you can.
So there are your updates, Scotty Chad updates with you.
Not a lot on my end. I had a friend of mine drop a
car around because he was going to the airport and I'm used as somewhat of a cheap airport parking attendant so.
How, how cheap Chad we're talking?
I mean, I just have to put fuel in the car and I get to drive it, so that's how cheap. Yeah, it's fair.
It's fair is. It a good car worth driving
though. Yeah, that's a.
Yeah, it's my friend Kieran's IS200 and just like slammed on cool wheels and yeah. And yeah, it was nice to drive
that around for a few days and then yeah, haven't really done much on cars apart from just driving that.
Yeah, just tidied the garage up a little bit on the way you can and bought a couple bits and pieces to for a bit of storage.
It's about it really. I don't foresee myself doing
much until probably the Christmas holidays.
Yeah, Patrick, good to see you, man.
Good to see you too man. How you been good man yourself.
Busy man by a good. Yeah, your your, your heart
meant to pin down, but I guess everything's kind of slowing down now and as as we get to end of year.
What's been happening, dude? What's happening with your cars
and and what's going on? Did we get that that S chest yet
or what? Potentially soon, potentially
soon. A lot of has has happened.
So again, I apologise for guys to everyone for not coming on.
All good. But our updates, so pretty much
the short term of it was my car got written off, but then it didn't get written off. So let's let's roll back for
time. So probably over now.
Yeah, almost probably coming on to almost two months ago, I was parked at my friend's house perfectly as I parked for many years, legally in the right, no problem at all whatsoever.
And my mate was parked behind me.
And we decided we're just, you know, chilling, having shisha as you do in the north. And then we hear this loud bang
and I'm like, oh God, is this, is that a gate?
Don't hear my mate's dad yelling at my name and my maid's name.
We go out. So my mate's car is completely
crumpled and on the curb. The the guy that hit us or hit
my mate has his car's gone. It's down 43 sixteens like on
the other side of the road and my car's gone 3 metres down the road as well with a fully caved in tub.
So had an unfortunate accident of an Uber driver not paying attention and speeding. Jeez.
And crashed into two parked cars.
So yeah, so pretty much my mate's car was an instant write off straight away. And with my car it was looking
like that because it's very immediately suspected of going to be chassis damage. There might be problems with the
suspension the diff. Hang on, it's a highlights,
isn't it? It is a highlight.
It's going to be a. Breakable aren't.
They that's what I thought right.
But if you saw how and Kim my car was, my car was fully loaded, parked in gear, handbrake cranked up as much as they don't. Work.
And he he didn't me and pushed me like a good three metres down the street. Bloody hell, how hard did he
hear you? How hard, hard.
He my my my tow bar was bent. Hard.
Peace. OK, so yeah, it was very
stressful. I mean not in the sense of the
hire car I had like you had a Yaris Cross and those things are phenomenal. I'm sure if you ever got driven
them before, they are one not only great on fuel, like a, a full tank of 98 would probably cost me 50 bucks.
I'll get OK, it'll last me a month.
It's pretty good. And mate, those little hybrids
mate, like they're punchy. They're fine.
You put them in the sport mode, they woogie, right, They woogie.
You're right. Now look, they are a smaller car
for my you know, average 6 foot one frame.
Not as comfortably my line of work, can't carry all my equipment and tools. But man, just for cruising
around like I never appreciated a car that has good AC, is automatic, has traction control, has cruise control and the best part has ABS has ABS. I don't have to worry about the
sliding like Scotty and crashing into someone.
Yeah, this, this I was well protecting this car.
It was a phenomenal car, man. Like, and for what?
Like I think they it was it was a base model, I think.
So I think they start out around 2829.
I could be wrong, but what you get, you get a lot of car for the price. You know, it kind of makes me
feel glad like, you know, all right, even like if you're going baseball in the new in the new car market, like you get for what you're paying for, like you're still like, yeah, you know, people in the grand scheme, it's not a lot, but still like, you know, 30 grand is still a lot of money.
So long you're buying a yeah, a base model car for 30, like all the features you're still getting, you're getting all safety there, you know, good quality for a Japanese car, you know, great fuel, fuel economy. It's got a hectic system.
All my Golf blasting it, like rushing it.
And the car was brand new. Yeah.
So I, I had the car, they gave it to me with probably 700 kilometres. I gave it back to them with 4000
on it. So, so, so Patrick, tell me it
sounds like you didn't want to get your car back.
It sounds like you you're just you're happy with this.
I was happy with being at my car, with the car, but not so obviously. It took him a while and yeah, I
got to the stage where I wanted my car back.
Now the worst part was I didn't want my car to be written off, but we all suspected it was, so I started looking.
I went to Isuzu. I looked at a Patrick.
Just hold it there for a SEC. Where's you gotta go, man?
You gotta flight. Board your flight.
Good to see you, man. Thanks.
Thanks. Thanks for joining.
Have a safe flight, do safe troubles and we'll see you soon.
And and let those buddy Chinese EV manufacturers know we're happy to Rep. Just send us a car.
NI hao ma. We'll make sure they're here on
Car Talk with That's electric. Maddie J.
Enjoy. Enjoy.
Business. Class.
I'll I'll try to. So.
So you're looking at, you were looking at D maxs and stuff, Patrick. Oh yeah.
So when I used, I looked at the D Max, looked at Rangers, V6 Rangers. So obviously my brother working
at Ford can look after me at the good discount.
Yeah. And then he was like.
I've dropped, I've dropped a line too, on a Ranger Raptor.
He's moving up in the world. He's moving up in the world.
And they're they're nice cars, don't get me wrong, a lot more modern than my car, more features safe on the road.
But I I I got well after our test drive.
Both those cars. I went on on a weekend and I
went to all the dealership only went to Mazda, Toyota, whatever.
I tell test drive inquired and I don't know what it is about them, but it's they're great, right.
Every like every part of my body should be saying no, get this.
It's easier for your it's easy on your on your body, on your mental health. It's it's a perfectly good car,
but I, I yearned for my, my piece of shit rust bucket.
I, I needed it and and then literally the following day I got a call from my insurance and, and this one I had a heart attack. They said, so obviously they
can't find a tub. They don't make them anymore
records hasn't sold my my exact tub in the last three years.
They just, they don't exist. And if it were to find one and
do all the repairs, paint, panel work, it was going to cost well over 10,000 and probably my car was only valued for 11.
I heard those, I heard those numbers.
My heart sunk. It's worth a lot more than 11.
But we're getting to nitty gritty.
So then I'll go panicking. Whatever, stressing hard I'll
end up with my dad. I end up looking at a manual FG
XR6 Turbo U there. We go that that's a bit more for
you, Patrick. Better.
That's better. Yeah, that was, that was, that
was, that was fun. But I, I was saying to my saying
to myself, like before I went, I'm thinking about putting the deposit. I'm like, if I, if I buy this
car, it's a great car, I'll have fun, but I'm going to regret it.
You know, it's it's I, I, it's something to be something I'll keep for long. So I waited for a bit, but then
lucky I, I got lucky in the situation where they called me back and like, listen, your cars doesn't have frame damage.
It's all good. I mean the tub has been damaged,
but it's got a little bit on a knock on the back of the cab from on tier to the hub and that made the hard little pushed up because it's very thin aluminium.
The tubs anyway, like they they just crumple, but everything else cheques out and he's like, listen, we'll give you a car back. It will be insured.
No write off all good register and all.
Obviously we can't find a tub, but we'll give you the money as what it would have costed us to repair the car and you'll give the car back free of charge. So not only do I get my car back
free of charge, but I've got a nice donation as well from my insurance, a nice lump sum of good coin.
So got my car back very happy, ecstatic it.
Wasn't repaired. No, sorry.
The tub was still crumbled, but it it still drove straight.
The tow bow is is bent. The tow bowl is a bit how you're
going, but it drives straight like nothing like you guys say unbreakable. Yeah, they just they go.
And then literally the next day after I drove her back, my CV boot completely exited the facilities and my other one was ripped as well. They need to be done.
So straight away I took to my dad's shop and or in case everyone's wanting quick cheeky little plug German lines automotive and Telmarine Garden drive for all your European car needs, please. And straight away I'd like a kid
in a candy store went online. I've already started ordering
new suspension, new bushes, new series API.
Hope you're not listening, but EGR delete everything just started and I just I just started going ham.
So now I'm just now I'm just waiting for all the parts to come. I think that we've already got
the shafts in wait for the ball joints, full lift kit to come in as well and just pretty much rebuilding the ground up and hopefully once all that's done, we'll take the tub off and we'll put a steel tray on it and then she'll live on.
And I'm like. Million kilometres.
So yeah, that's, that's my car updates.
And yeah, like Halux has almost died but resurrected, so thank God she's all right. But yeah, once we get that back
on the road, then I can, I'm gonna start looking at, yeah, getting another car. Me and my dad were discussing a
car to have on the weekend, a shared card.
So discussing our our options. He wants a, an older Merc.
I want a, a Jack car, you know, so we're kind of just trying to like. He's gonna meet in the middle.
And that's A6 Turbo. I mean, hey, like actually last
week I almost bought AE 46330 CI finding enough sport one, but I just didn't want to deal with the headaches with BMWs.
As you know, you all know, especially you Scotty at one stage. But yeah, no, that's that's my
car update. So that's what's happened in my.
Life tell you what Patrick, that was that was quite dramatic.
Do you do this a bit of a rival, didn't you?
So I was like, you know what we thought we thought it was going to be end of the end of the unbreakable luck.
So that's look as much as we've missed you Patrick, I am glad that the story came now that it's all completed.
Like. Wait a week for week to week for
updates. You know, like a soap opera.
It would have been terrible. TuneIn next week to see what
what's happening with Patrick's car?
Oh. God, it was probably the worst
thing I'll never wish upon anyone is the whole process of dealing with insurance. It was just a nightmare.
Yeah. It's oh man, just you're trying
to get in contact and hold with certain people.
The guy that hit us didn't have insurance and then deactivated his number, didn't want to borrow of us so he went to his house. Driver.
Would not have insurance. Yeah, he was apparently,
apparently the car he has, he was driving the car that hit us was like a 20, like a 2020 or 2017 Lexus.
So it's still a relatively new car, like still worth a bit of money. But apparently he he hired off
his mate or this guy that does it.
So hiring up a car like by law, he needs to have insurance.
And the guy we called this guy after chasing heads and tails around, is he end up saying, oh, no, I don't have insurance, it's not my problem. I'm like, what do you mean?
It's not your problem, you know? It is your problem.
It's gonna be your problem real bad.
Your problem very soon, yeah. But lucky.
Personal problem. It it, it almost got to that
stage like I was, I was just getting fed up.
I went to the police and everything.
They couldn't do anything because no one was hurt.
So it's considered as a civil matter.
But lucky I filed for a not a fault claim, told me everything.
So I didn't have to pay excess. Yeah, premium didn't go up.
Everything stayed the same. Every.
My ICAR was free of charge and extended it free every.
Like you, I've looked after in that sense, which I'm, I'm glad, yeah. Yeah.
But just like. The fact that you were able to
provide your insurance at least with the most identifying information about the person, yeah, yeah.
He's like he's going to be in a world of financial hurt.
Oh yeah, not. Just you it would.
Have got arraigned yeah, yeah, because.
I was going to pay for that. He's going to get.
All the top lawyers just but. These are, I'm not a nasty
person. Yeah, like, I obviously on the
moment it happened, I lost my cool a bit.
But I I can't. I'll make sure he was all right.
And I'm I'm all forgive. It doesn't matter how bad the
mistake is. Like, you do give people the
chance to do the right thing, right.
Look, at the end of the day, no one was hurt.
Like scary enough. A minute before the accident me
and my mate were going to hop into my mate's car to go get ice cream. I think God was watching a
divine invention or something because if we got in my car we would have been dead. His rear tyre was behind the the
driver's seat. Jeez, it was bad.
Yeah, so. So I'm just picturing you Say,
you running out? Are you OK?
Yeah, All right, you bastard. Yeah, yeah, yeah, By the way, it
was bad. It was bad.
I like this. And then seeing my mate, like
seeing his because it's only a 2004 Masa six part of it's everything to him and just seeing his face and she's not like there's no hope for his car.
Like I, I I just flipped and it's just something that so it could have been avoided like so easily, but I look accident shit happens. You know, like lucky, lucky.
No one was hurt. That's the main thing.
I try to give him the right chance, but he just, he thought he could like take advantage, walk all over me, this and that playing an excuse. So I don't even speak proper
English, this and that. I'm like, mate, it's like it's
it's right and wrong. It's common sense.
Yeah, like it's, yeah, try do the right thing.
Yeah. So I, I did what I gave, I gave
him multiple chances, but got to a point where I I got to look after myself. So that's why I got contact to
my insurance. And yes, unfortunately now
they're they're going to be chasing him and it's going to be bad. He's here is if he couldn't
cough up the money to pay my mate for his carbon, you know, having him cough up all the lawyers and all the fees and everything. He's he's in a really bad spot.
But and then I'm sorry, but he he brought it to himself.
I'm. Stuffing.
Which I try to look after him, we try to help him.
He he deactivated his number. I'm like, you know what, you
want to play that game, you know, go for it.
But you know. All all you need is his.
Driver's licence that you grab, yeah.
Which I I grabbed driver's licence, photos, everything, everything I got. He's done the Yeah, I mean,
that's what insurance companies do.
They pay the best lawyers crush these people.
So he's a, he's a Connor car. Car Talk top tip, even if you
cannot, if, if you're driving the most crappiest car in the world, just get third party insurance or something.
Just get the most basic form of insurance to cover your backside. Because let's, let's say it's
the way my mum always did to me. She's like, she's like with my,
my first Ford laser, which was like 500 bucks.
She's like, I know it's a $500 car, but let's say you hit a $500,000 car, you know, that's, it's still hitting a $500,000 car. And you know, you know, at least
you'd be covered if you, if you've got insurance.
So, but I mean, it's, it's his own fault.
I mean, I've, I've got some people I know who, who don't, who haven't had insurance for, for 30 years.
And when I asked them why they're like, oh, you know, God or someone will protect me. I'm like, I'm like, but you
don't understand the chant. Just the on the odd chance
something will happen, It's, you know, to be fair, they've made 30 grand this so far. Just that's true.
That is true. Which could all go away one hit.
But you know, it's just, it's just Peace of Mind.
Yeah, it's, it's the Peace of Mind.
Something you can't really put a price on.
Insurance and stuff too. Yeah.
I had a relative who didn't insure his car because he'd never had an accident. My younger brother, he's just
recently started driving. He's got no insurance because on
the fact that he can't afford it and I I want to.
If you can't afford it, why are you even driving?
To yeah, if you can't afford the insurance, you probably can't afford to drive so. You certainly can't afford
paying someone else's bill if you end up getting into them.
You got to pay to play. Yeah, correct.
Yeah, just out, Just out of curiosity.
In Sydney, I believe you get Greens, like Greens are like third, like a third party. Compulsory third party.
Compulsory third party. So it's part of your
registration. Like you have to have that to
register your car. Yeah.
So like if you hit someone, you've still got third party insurance, right. Like that's.
Yes, but it's because it's because they don't have TAC.
Yeah. So TAC here covers us if you're
not insured, if you hit somebody and injured them, TAC covers that. Yeah, but it doesn't cover
anything materialistic. Yeah, which we pay through our
registration as well. Yeah, that's right.
Yeah, it's CTV, so the Sydney one also covering the car as well. It does, yeah.
It ends up covering the other persons, like if you're at fault, covers the other person's car and also covers any persons being hurt as well. OK, it works worthwhile, which
is kind of good, but then your rego plus CT like your yeah, CTV has something like 1000 bucks a year.
So yeah, it kind of like works out almost.
I know in the, I know in the states that as well, it's illegal to drive any vehicle without any form of insurance.
I feel like that's something that should be implemented.
Yeah. Because like I said, like it's,
it's way too risky, you know, to just rely on, you know.
I've I've been driving for so long this and now I never got in an accident this and now someone's watching me.
Like like you said, Maddie, like the odd chance of something can happen, man. Like it's, it's not even, it's
not even to protect the other person, but to protect yourself.
Absolutely. You know, and like, like I said,
this is the most basic form of third party and if you can't, if you can't afford that, if you can't cough up whatever that is, it's I'm sorry, but like then you shouldn't have been driving like it's it's not worth it because then you get into like this poor guy now he's got nothing and he should have been driving a car and then. That's what he said, you're
going to pay to play, right? Like that's, that's, that's,
that's a really important point. You know, I always say, I mean,
like, I, I know you guys have all got insurance, but like, you know, if, if someone's like, oh, can you just take my car in the corner? So I, I even if it's in the
corner, say, hey, does this car have insurance?
Because like you just don't know.
You just, you just don't know, you know, it's, I don't want, you know, I don't want a wheel to fall off and then I go into somebody's car and I'd be like, oh, what did you do in my car?
The wheel fell off. Oh, I don't have insurance.
Well, wish you would have told me about 5 minutes ago.
You know, it's, it's, it's, it's, you know, if you can't afford, you're right. If you can't afford the
insurance, that's fine. Just just at least try to put
something basic on the most basic cover so at least your your backside's covered because if you crash your car insurance.
Companies like you can find one that would be darn cheap, yeah.
But this afternoon, I helped my nephew buy a car this afternoon and we bought a Toyota dealership, a second hand car, but Toyota had their own insurance now and they took us through, We got a quote from them.
And yeah, there's about 10 different steps to the excess.
You can, you can nominate. You know, it was, it was really,
it was a really interesting process, you know, and then and, and he could up the, up the excess to reduce the premium and, you know, then all the options about weekly or monthly or, you know, annual payments. Yeah, there's lots of options
out there. And, and you know, if you're a
good driver and, and you take the responsibility yourself, you're not a Hoon and you're, you know, drive as well as you possibly can, then you're immediately removing half the risk anyway. And yeah, I mean raising the the
excess is really easy way to reduce your premium if you if you can. Absolutely.
As I mentioned, the type bar was at work.
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
This was this yesterday. Yeah.
And today. So now I smoothed up to Sharon
and got access to the keys to the type bar, and I was egged on to see how fast it could go in front of my place.
And I'm not going to say we weren't triple digits, but you know, all I can say is if there had been a cop there, I wouldn't have a licence today, so. Yes.
So, Sharon, if you're listening. You're a hooligan.
You, you allowed this, Sharon, just saying.
So I hope the engine temperature was up to temperature and it was fine. Oh no, we gave, we gave it like
solid 10 minutes to warm up, then drove it for a little bit and then went for the top speed run and.
I'm supposed to be the young immature 1.
It's not in Mexico, of course. Yes, our workplace is Mexico.
Yeah, that is, that is true. Let's go, Patrick.
So and and what did you think of the type IO?
Quite nice like again similar, I felt similar power delivery to the STI like relatively linear and smooth.
A bit of the talks to you. Yeah, yeah, which, you know, you
had to be ready for. It's not as bad as I thought it
would be. No, it's actually like I've
driven a lot of like I've driven Mesa 3 MPS's talks to you way harder. Yeah, and they've got less
power, but near pretty smooth. Again, very comfortable getting
to triple digits. You know, it's quite quick.
Yeah, quite quick. They do go.
So yeah, Car Talk. Top tip gentlemen, before we
move on is make sure that you have some form of insurance because if you don't and you hit a Ferrari, you're in a world of pain. Or a Hilux.
Or a Hilux. You know what's interesting
though, just I just just, I know you want to move on, but just quickly on that, this friend, this relative who only wanted to, I finally persuaded, he bought a brand new car and wasn't going to insure it because it was, he had an accident. So I finally persuaded him to go
with Australian pensioners and I, when I broke it down to a daily, how much a day it cost him, then he sort of begrudgingly accepted that he, you know, third party fire and theft his brand new car. So he did that 14,000 KS later
and you know, Oh no, well, 4000 KS later in two years, you know, he didn't do a lot of driving. He was in his 80s by this stage.
Car was written off. So it was a, it wasn't his,
technically it was his fault, but it wasn't really his fault.
If you saw him drive, he was actually going out and around a car, a tradie P play tradie Patrick.
Who did he into him as he drove around the car and because he was going really slow. So my relative went out to go
around and rolled the car into a tree so that just in the in the width of the normal St he hit the car hard enough to to roll it onto its roof and into a tree.
So destroying it was a 2 year old Barina.
God, you know that chunky square Barina?
The last one. So every panel was completely
mounted on it. But because it was third party
foreign theft, that doesn't actually cover towing.
Yeah. His car, yeah, actually carry
cover storage at the at the yard until you decide what you're going to do with it. Obviously the tradies Ute was
covered because he had third party fire and theft and technically he was deemed to be at fault because he was on the wrong side of the road when the accident happened.
That's the only reason it was all low speed.
He got $500.00 for the car from Mimlax because it was basically
like there was it wasn't a straight panel on the thing after it rolled and everything was was smashed.
Yeah. And so he's, and he also then
had to pay well the fine for being on the wrong side of the road, which is fair enough, but had to pay the towing and the storage of the car until Inmax came and picked it up and took it around. So on top of his, you know,
losing pony grand in on a car he had, he didn't he had to pay for the towing, the storage and yeah, that's fine.
So it's good. It's good because he didn't have
to pay for the other car, obviously, but he still lost out in the end. So yeah, yeah, yeah, it's good
for a, you know, a cheap car, A5 grand car sort of thing.
But any yeah really means a little bit comprehensive.
Like I've always said that so like I was like like anything over 5 or so, you know, you really need to you should really get full, full comp. Like it's just, it's just it's
just a safer option and it's not.
Sorry, David. Yeah, I was kind of like third
party is like you've got that first car, it's AP platter car.
It's only about that it's below 5 grand where if you get hit and you know, you have to kind of chase the person up, It's also about you can let go. It's not the greatest thing to
let it go, but that's right because you, but the insurance company will do that for you. Yeah, but like with third party,
they won't help you out, right? They they won't fix your car if
you if you're at fault. Yeah.
So if the other person's at fault, you kind of have to chase up that person and their insurance and instead of whereas full coverage, your insurance will take care of all of it.
But at the same time, it's an amount that you're not that tore up about every day. Whereas if it's a 20 grand car
or newer, I'd be a full coverage immediately.
I'd be still even like a three grand car.
I mean, that's just me. But like my, you know, I've got
Norma, the other, the other Ford laser that's on, that's just on 3rd party one, because it's if it's free, but two because because it's, you know, we, we it's only got 2 grand into the car. Like, you know, just the
roadworthy work. And, you know, if it's gets
written off, it's gets written off, you know, and, and, and you know, the, you know, the girls are driving.
They're they're fine with that. Yeah, so sometimes with third
party, you end up winning if the other person got good insurance, correct. Yeah.
Now one of our friends, his first car was AI think it was a Integra. And this was like a clapped out
Integra, which a lot of them are, let's be honest.
But this one was extra clapped out and the guy who sold it to him was like, yeah, you'd probably probably get maybe a couple now 1000 KS out of it. And then, you know, he he was
like, oh, if I get 10,000, I'll be happy, which did not, you know, compute. But that was a statement he made
unfortunately or fortunately for him.
So he paid a thing about bottom dollar, like $1500 this car or less, and he ended up getting it written off by somebody else being at fault. He has third party, so he just
contacts their insurance and he's like, well, what do you do about it? They give him 5 grand.
Wow. You'd have to fight for it.
It's like, oh, we get your cars worth that much ego.
It's fine, Yeah. I think it's similar session to
my mates because obviously my mate had third party and that guy hit us and obviously he didn't have insurance.
And obviously a third party like they won't they, they won't pay you out or anything for a car. They won't look after you.
And obviously that guy has to rely on his, the other guy's insurance. But obviously he didn't.
So that's when we were started worrying like, oh, is he going to get anything for his car? We wouldn't have to scrap it,
but lucky with I mean, I'm with budget and he was with as well.
I think there's a bit of a loophole.
So if any dealers are with budget listening because I, I filed a not a fault claim and they saw everything.
I wasn't at fault and they looked after me.
Whatever. Even though he, my mate was
third party, they still gave him a full payout of his car, what it would have been worth. And as well they and he didn't
have to pay for any of the the storage or whatever and they scrapped his car and as well he got money from there scrap on top of that as well. Yeah, there's a bit of a little,
yeah, there's kind of like a loophole, but it's like a it's written into the their financial, like it's the underwriters have to do that for third parties and they have to, if the other person doesn't have insurance and you do, even if it's third party, they have, they have like an obligation to fulfil, to look after you because you are a customer and they basically just chase the other person to the end of the earth basically. Yeah.
So the other person ends up getting really stuffed, but you have to, that's the price of yeah, not having insurance.
So even yeah, third party sometimes comes in handy.
I had a a single person accident in my laser a few years ago.
Is you probably didn't remember this is the the Togei incident of the yeah, Teleru Freeway. I was coming up from work one
night and it was raining and I wasn't even going that fast.
But I think you were going faster than you should have, Maddie. I wasn't but and I wouldn't
maintain that I wasn't anyway, I early a third party at the time of it because I was a broke uni student.
I was just barely making ends meet and basically spun it and put it into a wall. So obviously I couldn't have
third party would do nothing. So I I spent my next two
weekends going to pick a part. I took the car.
I took the car the next day to the panel shop and he's like, he just shook his head. I mean, he's like, all right,
I'll write you up a list of what you need to get.
I went and got everything that he needed and he put it back together for me. And then and then I was like,
OK, I'm getting, I'm getting full comp now.
Sorry. Then I, yeah, I only got full
comp. That was a very that was a very
long time ago. That's probably over 10 years
ago now. Yeah, it would be.
The car I'm no one. Curious, so we'd end up
sourcing. Bar bonnet Rio radiator bar
irons lip fog lights, headlights and.
I think to the whole front. The pickup part had everything
for that car. Virtually everything that I
took, I took one of another SR2 that I've seen.
Wow, there was, and there was an SP20 there.
So I, I like to think like one of the cars was rear ended.
So Matt's like, well, I don't need the rear, just need the front. Quite literally.
I, I had one of those those, you know, when you get to the records that you get, The thing is the, what are like the kind of the wheelbarrows and I think the parts in total, yeah, those things cost me like 500 bucks. So it didn't cost me much
because like the structurally the car was perfect.
It was just, it was just superficially just damaged and and I'm like, I could have still, I could have still drive it and I wish I was still driving it.
But I did bend the radiator and stuff.
So I had to, you know, get it fixed.
So yeah, so that got done. And then I haven't had a bingle
with the front end since. Well, I mean, other people have
hit me, but that's that's a that's a that's another story.
Which it's a car that people love to hit for some reason.
Yeah. That was the only accident that
was my fault in that car. Yeah.
And well, again, I still claim it was my fault, but you I don't know. The road conditions have
differing opinions. They do.
They do. Currently it's smelly carpet's
with me. What have I been up to?
Oh, yes. I I got some speakers for my
laser. So the front speakers were a bit
how you going? That was the original cardboard,
you know, pretty worn out speakers at this point.
They lasted my whole P platter duf Dufais.
So I ended up getting some speakers.
I went to pick a part and I got the casings from a from a from, you know, with the, with the wiring and everything.
So basically I didn't have to cut or any or anything or redrill anything. It was just in and out
essentially. So if I want to put the original
speakers back in, I just just clip back in and they're fine.
So I did it like a very factory OE kind of install.
They're 5 by 7, which is a weird size.
So I got them through work and that sounds like the Falcon size as well. It's like a little Falcon and
Mazda size. Yeah, it actually says in the
box made for direct replacement for Ford and Mazda.
So that was pretty cool. So that yeah, it made a big
difference. The speaker sounded really good.
Now I'll see some photos later in the group chat.
So that was that was a little project I've been doing on the on the side. Jeez, cars were easier to take
apart yeah like the like the you know, 3 screws and then a couple of clips and the door was out the door.
The the door card was out and I was like Bang Bang speaker in speaker out. And you know, he's done So that
that was that gearbox is currently getting done to go in that car. So the carrier bearing, I
believe it's called in the DIF is what was the issue, My original gearbox. So I should possibly get that
back after Christmas. They said, but they're like, do
you want to put an LSD in it at this point?
And you said, heck yeah. And then I priced up the LSDS
and I know I'm like, oh, is it really worth?
It's a Christmas present, you know.
They Nah, just Weld it. Just Weld, yeah.
My welder different. I've got my wig melder at the
back, mate. You bring it over.
Well, if your tax will be right, yeah.
We'll send it welder. Different wheel drive.
Couple of boogers in there, tick to go tick.
Tick it just drives straight from this.
So I did price an M Sport diff, which so like you can buy the the Mazda speed one, which is the genuine Mazda Mazda parts.
They're getting hard to get these days like you can't buy them new anymore. The second hand and all of a
sudden the second hand ones have got a habit of wearing out pretty prematurely. But M Sport maker make a
replacement that's, you know, pretty much bulletproof apparently. And that's what everybody on the
Astina GT, you know, people used for the G series gearbox.
They all recommend them. They all all the be high
horsepower turbocharged, like there's one with like almost 350 kilowatts out of a, out of a, you know, two litre FS engine.
Yeah, I know it's it's not. Well, his first one blew up in
spectacular fashion on the diner.
That was that was quite funny. He's a video of that.
But the second one now he's got a fully bought engine and it was just just one tyre frying everything in every game.
But yeah, he's put that LSD in it and it's been it's been magic and they all write it. Issue is it's a bit of money.
It's probably worth, you know, speaking with what the cars worth about 1500 bucks to be honest.
And I'm just like, well, is it, is it worth putting in?
And, and like it's kind of keeping.
So how much would a, is the current differ gonna be replaced or just repaired? They're gonna have to repair it.
But the issue is he's like, it's, it's a pretty worn out dip. It's you know, it's all OK.
So what would, what would a gift that I guess isn't an LSD cost you anyway. Well, you, you can't buy that.
You can't get, you have to repair it.
So you have to repair the, the inside, all the inner bearings and everything for it. So because if you, I guess if
you weigh the, the labour costs and you know, park costs, yeah, first it may be a little bit closer than you expected.
It's about a $700.00 difference. Yeah, not in terms of, in my
books, that's worth it. And look, from what I've, from
what I've seen, it changes the car completely.
It makes it into a, you know, it makes a race car, not a race car like it's, it's more a sorry, race hatch, race hatch.
It, it makes it like a, makes it a better handling car.
But a driving car, you can put your foot down out of corners and want one tyre fire fryer. And you know, so he's like to
me, he'll leave it in my hands anyway.
He's not going to finish it till after Christmas.
So he's like, you can order it and, and let me know.
Otherwise I'll just put this on the one.
But I'll, you know, I'll, I'll rebearing it, you know, check all the clearances because it was, I sure he saw the video of it going in and out, in and out, in and out.
He's like, yeah, not good. So that's.
And then they had it up on the hoist and you know, when they, when they saw that there were, yeah, they're all like, not good. So, so stay tuned for our early
next year's episode where we explained how Maddie's got an LSD in in the laser. Put it this way, after driving 2
high performance front wheel drive cars with LSDS, They're, they're incredible. Like it's, it's, it's
witchcraft. How, how well they work, you
know, the, the Fiesta, and I mentioned this on the show before, like I, I take it on some on our favourite roads, which you boys know where that is.
And it is, you know, Chad and I were having a bit of a battle one time and, and, you know, and, and he's got a performance LSD in his, in his, you know, I 30 N and, you know, just to, to put your foot down out of a corner and it just doesn't, it just hooks and goes. It's, it's, it's feel, it's the
weirdest but most satisfying feeling you could ever feel.
And it's like I feel like I couldn't, I could never reach the capabilities of that car. And the same thing with the,
with the, with the top bar when, when, when I drove those rides as well, You know, it was, it was an incredible feeling like it, it just feels like the whole car works.
And I feel like you put the power down.
It, it, it is, it is quite witchcraft in, in the way, in the way it, you know, shifts the power, you know, the torque split 70% and to, to, you know, the wheel with, with the less slip. And yeah, it's, it's, it's
really cool. It's really cool how it works.
So that is that's Maddie selling the LSD for us.
That's me trying to sell it for myself.
But I'm like, I'm you've already made your mind.
You just don't know it yet. Maddie.
I'd rather spend my money on my my holiday to to Japan shortly.
But it's yeah, it'll be it'll be interesting.
I wanted to get your opinion, gentlemen, on what you think I should do. Do you think we all know the
answer? Do you think I should LSD to LSD
or not to LSD is the question. In unison, gentlemen.
You know. It's.
The OK, the crowd has spoken, The crowd has spoken the.
Council. Has spoken.
Oh, you're over in Japan. Yeah, well, that is the other
option as well, because like I've got these the second hand gearbox that Chad and I put, put, put, put that that other one in the car at the moment, which is like the bearings are grumbling us and and stay 1st and 2nd gear and not great in it. But it it's working and the
car's still driving and it's fine.
But the, the yeah, the other one is the much better gearbox in terms of drop ability. So I think I will like, I think
I spoke to Ed about this as well.
Ed was in a green. He's like, yeah, like it's a car
you're keeping. You're not, you're not really
getting rid of it. And if it will fix it, like if
it will, you know, fix it one, but two kind of like an upgrade at the same time. That's that's not really taking
away from, you know, from it, from its kind of originality as the car is. Then it's yeah, sure.
Why not? Like that's, that's, that's a
good thing. Like I've always been one for
like, oh, you're shocked by OK, maybe put some coneys in it or some, some bill stains, you know, like, you know, just to upgrade it. Like, you know, bits and pieces
like that. Like, like with the typhoon, I
put all, you know, proper, you know, really good bushings in it, you know, super pro stuff. So you know, when the old ones
were worn out. I'm, I'm a big, big fan of the
upgrading because like as, as cars get newer, technology gets better, right? So then that way you can, you
know, you're putting better quality parts and it makes the job ability of the car a lot better too.
So, so yeah, I think I might do that.
Like I said, I'm not in a rush for it.
They are available in Australia. You can buy them.
So I'm thinking of seeing how much money I have leftover after my after my trip in Japan. And I will I will try be frugal
and and keep some money so I can afford to buy my buy my differential so I can the the laser can can can drive well once again, that's the first update 2nd update.
I went and saw a good friend of the show, Mr. David Prince last
night to pick up some parts for Ratna scam because I stole I had to scavenge a part of his scam to make my car my car run good.
That's all given to him. He's put that in and it's going
for the second Rd where the again later either I think Friday or Monday. I'm going to double check the
with my mum spoke to him today. But so then hopefully next week,
David Prince, that will be all done and yeah, all good.
Ready to be put into my name so I can drive that for the few days I'll be here in summer and then I'll enjoy when I when I try to come back. And all right, I saw the Holden
Cruz gone, so I'll see you in the traffic.
And it was funny. The the guy is lovely guy,
actually lovely gentleman. Came all the way from gaming on
by public transport last Tuesday night and was like, yeah, I'm coming to pick it up tonight. Can had a look at it.
He's like, Oh yeah, it's as described.
I'm like, yeah, how you going to drop this home?
It's going to Reggio and he's like, I'll take the back streets anyway. So basically he, he test drove
it around the block and he's like this thing drives great.
I'm like, yeah, it does. Like mechanically it's it was,
it was a good car mechanically, surprisingly for a cruise.
He I said, I said this is like at 10:00 and I'm like, message me when you get home. Just make sure you you got home
safe. Anyway, I wake up the next
morning because I was I was in bed and he messaged me like almost almost 2:00 in the morning.
Got home. Thanks.
The car drove great. Florida State, no issues at all,
didn't get caught ha ha, and then basically took it into a roadway in the next day or two and then he's like, he's like the only thing he needed for a roadway.
He was 4 tyres and some control arms and he's like, the mechanic said. This is surprisingly the best
cruise he's ever seen for. A roadway.
And I'm like, yeah, it's about right.
I had a had a leaky gasket from the like a sump, sump plug.
But you just change the oil at that point anyway, so really nothing that. That's awesome.
He's always like, I know the body was pretty humid, but yeah, mechanically very good. So that's going to be re
registered on Thursday at Mitchum Vicroads.
So that car will be alive once again and.
You know, we've, I mean, I talk about recycling and being environmentally friendly, like keeping these cars on the road is the way to go. 100 percent, 100% and he and he, he was a
look, he's lovely guy. He was lovely gentleman.
He was he's like, look, I because I like he knew the story about, you know, it's Steph moms car and and you know, a bit about that and and he's like, look, it's you know, I I just want a car for me, my wife just to drive around and, you know, enjoy and and he was he was so happy, like like he could get the smile off his face and I'm like, I've never seen someone so happy for a cruise, but sure, so he took that and we'll be happy with it once it's re registered on Thursday.
As with Victorian plates, It was a bit sad bringing the old, you know, Cocker plates back to Steph and said and with the cash and said, here you go, that's that this is and she's like, you know, it's kind of like the end of an era of that.
You know, it's like saying goodbye to 2 year old friend, you know, like when you when you sell a car and that's that's what a lot of non car people don't get.
Like when you sell a car like it is, you think about like all the good things you had with it and you do get attached to them, you know? I only chat with four.
She had it for four years, but her mom had it for like almost 10 so. Yeah, wow, Yeah.
So I've not had it for a long time.
So she's like, she's like, I've known this car a very long time, you know, So it's been, it's been, it's been in the family.
You know, her brother drove it. She obviously her mom drove it
and everything. So yeah, it was, it was sad, but
she's like, I'm sad. I'm happy to see you go to
somebody that that's re registered or, you know, going to get a registered and drive it, not just going to like break up a path and stuff. So, so I think I think it was a
happy ending for for the for the Quaker as well as we usually call it. So yeah, that is the end of that
cruise for us. And I think that is pretty much
in my end of updates. Shall we get straight into the
car quiz? Because we've had a lot of car
based on it, because of because of people.
Yeah, it's been good. It's a big old discussion on why
you should have car insurance as well.
And we had a big discussion why you should have car insurance.
Absolutely correct. Very, very, very important.
So David Prince has currently offered to do the car quiz for us today. I think that just means Maddie's
going to win today. I can assure you.
There's been no, no collusion, I can assure you.
There's that's why you met him yesterday.
Yes, that's it. Yeah, that's exactly right.
He's like, all right, give me the.
Answer on the papers. Then I'll ask in the chat for
somebody to make do the quiz and then you know.
We're on to you, Maddie. Yeah.
I know I'm, I'm just a scumbag, Let's be honest, Like I'm not the nicest kind of guy when it comes to when it comes to quiz.
I'm a very competitive person. You cut people off, you know,
just put off the Internet on the Internet.
What do we need to do? Winning at all costs.
Winning at all costs. Is, is, is is the main thing.
So David Prince, can you please assure that these guys, to these guys that there is no shenanigans, there's no collusion, there's no issues. Entered into, I can assure you
personally. Did you just wink, Adam?
David, is that 100? Dollar note is.
That $100 note coming out of your pocket, David?
So it's your reflection from the deadlines.
It's like you just seem decided to pull out some cash from behind your shirt. It's like, oh, is that a sack
with a dollar sign in the background?
If you are in danger, blink twice.
All right, David Bridge. It's a bit of a bit of a.
There's a couple of cryptic ones in here.
How? Do I go closest to?
There's a couple of bonus questions.
Let's get going. Let's go.
Question number one, what company is the world's largest manufacturer of tyres? Matthew got in pretty quick
there. Manufacturer of tyres?
Which company? Michelin.
Incorrect. OK, disappointing Matt in, but
incorrect. Chad, you were next.
I'm going with Continental. OK, that incorrect.
Patrick. Patrick.
Win run. You see a lot of win runs don't
you around? No, incorrect I'm afraid.
Scott Well. What are you that was Lang Lang
and stuff is is that the other one that's.
Triangle Diamondback. Scotty.
I'm going to go Nan Kangs. Nan Kangs No, Not correct, no.
Very brow That's a difficult question.
I think, I think there's, I don't think it's a tyre company is, is, is what I'm thinking. I'm kind of getting guessing at
this point. Well, that's an alum guess.
All right, our Mongus Aolus, they're a brand of tie from China that we bring in their work.
Aolus. Aolus.
Yeah. This is like areolas.
Like, really? Just thinking in eye on those
songs. He's my favourite.
I was from first Gen civic and they were called bollocks.
Bollocks. I was looking at a set of
bollocks, mate, Yeah. I.
Think four of them. These bollocks are bold.
I, I know, I know the answer thing is, David, but before you say the answer, like let everyone have a guess and then I'll, I think I know what it is, but I'll, I'll let, let everyone else go first. I said what is the name of the
world's largest manufacturer of tyres?
You didn't say automotive tyres. Yeah, I, I that's why I kind of
picked. I've kind of figured it out, I
think. But we'll go with who's who's
left to get the guess you've you've guessed has.
Everybody guessed what? What about Dunlop that make
tyres? Thank you, but.
Yeah, but they don't make as many as.
Hot Wheels. No.
Good guess though. I like where you're going now.
The world's largest manufacturer of tyres is Lego.
Yeah, they actually produce 318,000,000 tyres.
Oh my. God.
A year, Jeez. So that's a lot of, lot of, lot
of things to step on in the middle of the night when you've got kids. So absolutely.
Or two. It's it's the, it's the pain
that, but it's the it's pain, but it's the gift that keeps on giving like it's, it's, you can build that pain in something else If you see what I did there.
Maddie, I was disappointed that you didn't.
Know, I know, I know. I like after I answered it, I
was, I was like, Oh no, this is a trick question.
It's a It's I, I I should have. Very tricky, David.
Very tricky indeed, but you got to remember my Volkswagen question about the the the most sold, the most sold spare part.
Yeah, the the Curryworth sausage.
Question 2. The Pope received His Holiness.
The Pope, I should say, received a new car this week.
Who was the manufacturer? Yes, Scott Goody.
Volkswagen. Incorrect.
Al Alum Fiat. Incorrect.
Chad, was it a Mercedes? Correct, correct.
I look that up now. It's a new Mercedes
Pokemanville. Up here.
Don't look it up yet. Sorry, sorry I haven't.
Question. What was significant about it?
Matthew. Matthew.
It's the first Mercedes they've used.
Incorrect. Oh, OK.
They've used them for quite a while, Alan.
Alan, they've upgraded the bulletproof glass.
It's even more bulletproof. Yeah, there are grades of
bulletproofness. There is how I learned today at
work for some reason. Rocket Rocket proof Glass
incorrect. Well, any tips, David?
Could you repeat that again? I said yes, I can.
There's something quite significant about this in that it's the first vehicle of its type for the Vatican to actually have for the Pope. It's a new a new G waggon based
Mercedes, but there's something particularly significant about.
It you kind of have more information there, David?
Is it electric? Correct.
It's electric. Oh.
Wow. An electric G waggon.
Geez. On AG580 platform with and
utilises the EQ tech from the EQ models, so I hope he's got a very long extension cord. So, so for our for the our
listeners who give their churches to to the church everywhere, that's where your money went.
That is, I just looked it up and it looks crazy.
It's just AG waggon and then they're just put like a like just a clamshell on top. Yeah, with a seat on the back.
And it's got steps up the back and it's got a handrail, which is a very practical thing for an older man.
So it is. Absolutely it is.
That's. Nice of them.
Yeah. Shout out to the Pope if you if
you're listening, yeah, you're more than welcome to come on the show. Yeah, talk about it.
Let us know. Yeah, absolutely I'd be.
I'd be happy to have the Pope on the show.
We have a school check. Oh, school, check Scotty on one.
And who had the first question? No one got the first question.
No, no one got that. Did you he just gave himself a
point that was that was no if someone else deserved the point, so someone else got Chad gets. Right.
Didn't I get anything Mercedes for a one or something?
You got a one, You got a one. Yeah.
So one for Chad, one for one for Yeah.
Hey, just straight up gave him seven points.
So they said there's no cheating going on.
All I can say is thank you. You're there, Alan.
It was under pressure. I did this here for a while and
I I'll come back to this more well.
I'll tell you what, Patrick, this is weekly, mate.
Poor. Thing. #3 Most car companies in
the world do enjoy a bit of model sharing and rebadging of of of different models. What's recognised as the most
rebadged car in history? Matthew.
Matthew. Is it a Fiat 124?
No. Correct.
OK. And what most rebadged?
You mean it had the most variants I guess?
No, same car, same car badged differently.
Like bullshit. Yeah.
So it was the same car sold by. Yeah, OK, all.
Right, Chad? Chad.
I'm gonna go tie the camera. Oh, good, good, good guess.
But no, that's not correct. That's not the information I
have Which. Hold the polar.
Key. It must be true.
Good. Question.
Great question, Alan. Alan, was it a Chevy Nova?
Chevy Nova. No, it wasn't a Chevy Nova.
Was it a Chevy Malibu? It wasn't Chevy Malibu either.
It's not a Chevy. Not a Chevrolet scooty doe.
Up to you. Last.
Last Scotty was so still with focus that I was like, is he disconnected? He was running.
Through I'm thinking of like your 4 wheel drive utility cars and is it like a rodeo? .5 sorry I think Matthew. .5 OK
yeah I'll, I'll get that too and.
I guess, Matt, didn't you? Yep, I did have a guess.
Yeah, I was. Well.
OK, the according to my information, the second generation Isuzu trooper holds it.
Get out. History.
How in history? Bonus question, how many
different models were sold around?
How many badges were sold around the world?
Did you want the? Did you want the names or just
how many? No, no, you'll never get all the
names. OK, so it was so the trooper
that'd be jackaroo. That would be the Honda did one.
I'm pretty sure. Maybe they did.
I can't remember. I there was another one in
America or I want to say it was a Chevrolet as well at some point in its life because it's AGM product I'm going to say.
888 Yep. We're all closest too.
We're all closest too. All right, I will go with 14. 14
OK, I'll. Go with 10.
Francis for you. 9. 9. I'll do 7.
Seven, says Chad. OK, so Scotty gets another .5
and Alan gets .5 because I've got on this, this.
I've got 12. Oh.
OK. And.
They are as follows. So, so so hang on, Wait, so
we've got Scotty .5 and Alan .5. Yep.
So the second generation was known as the Isuzu Trooper, the Isuzu Bighorn, the Akura SLX in North.
All they did one as a Yeah, yeah, that makes sense, yeah.
The ship, the Chevrolet Trooper, the Holden Jackaroo, The Holden Monterey, which was a different, the same vehicle but badged as the luxury version, the Honda Horizon, the HSV Jackaroo.
Yeah, the Opal Monterey, the San Jui 39 Trooper in China, the Subaru Bighorn and the Vauxhall. That's twelve.
Yeah, far out crazy. OK, never heard of never.
Didn't know it was a Subaru. Imagine the imagine that the
factory do I put this the bighorn do I do?
Yeah, which which badge on this one?
Yeah, Yeah, that would could be tricky.
Luck of a jaw, Which one would you be born as?
Do you think people, do you think people who owned a a a Big Horn would have wanted to put a different badge on it just.
You. Know how the owners put Chevy
badges on them? Yeah, 100 percent, 100%.
Want to buy Pajero for the same reason?
But. You're getting parts.
You'd be like, OK, you got a part for this.
No, we don't. OK, what about like this
instead? And what?
About this, that'll be like when someone in Australia putting like Honda badges on one that would be, that would be funny.
I I would, I would laugh. Don't think I haven't thought
about it. The Frontier, the Holden
Frontier, which was like the like the, the waggon version of the rodeo. You Yeah, later 80s That that
was a Honda. That was the first Honda
Passport. Passport, yeah.
The badges, so a lot of those cars, the badges actually the, the, the factory badges are the same shape and so they just need to change it. It's like the Rover Quintet.
I had all Honda badges just clipped straight into the same holes. It was great.
That's what he is. Question 4.
Toyota is one of the largest manufacturers of cars in the world. What country was the first
outside Japan to produce Toyotas?
Matthew. Matthew.
I think it was Australia. You'd be 100% correct.
Bonus point, what year? Matthew.
Just two. We'll go if if you don't hear.
I'm going to say they were making cars here in the 70s and I'm going to say 78. 1978 like. Al Mogu with 72. 1972.
Goody 75. 97 I have Patrick. I'm gonna go 69. 1969, Jed.
I'm actually, I'm gonna go earlier.
I think it was 65. Jed almost on the money and gets
the gets the gets the got chocolates 1963.
Yeah. Yeah.
Doesn't that make sense? Cold 30s and all that stuff
right back. Way before that way.
Before that. I I was thinking to myself, I'm
like, I'm like, I know they made Coronas here.
And then, and then as soon as there's my hands, I'm like, Nah, they made Corollas here well before that.
And I was like, yeah. Always.
But before that they made the tiara, the Toyota tiara.
Tiara, Yeah, it was made here. Which brings me to question
five. So the tiara and the Crown and
the Corona and the Corolla, we're all manufactured locally at some different stages. What's the common thread to the
names? With you.
Oh, Chad Bold straight out of the out of the gates.
It's all to do with the head pace.
Correct. Yeah, all types of crown or
heads, different languages. You beat me, Chad.
You beat me to it. Chad's on five, by the way.
He's leading the pack three to to everybody else, not much.
OK, Question 6. While we're still on on with
Toyota, Toyota has this week announced yet another Ute derivative, this time in full electric, called the Bru, and it's part of a collaboration with Which major Aussie brand?
Bru. 4. Chad.
Dad. Is it ARB?
No, not incorrect. What's your brand?
Should you repeat that question again?
I can Toyota has this week announced yet another Ute derivative, this time in full electric, called the Bru, and it's part of a collaboration with which major Aussie brand?
This is golden. Yeah, enough.
That's. Yeah, I don't think that's.
True, Matthew. I'm just going to say some
outdoorsy company because it, it, it'd probably be like a, like a, you know, a promotional thing.
I'm going to say Macpac. Macpac.
Yeah, the MACPAC be are you? No, it's not backpack.
OK. Thinking laterally, though,
that's good. I was looking outside the box.
I'm like because sometimes they make custom mod offs for you know, things like that. But anyway.
What is this? Can you tell us what what the
brand is known for without giving it away?
That's giving it away. You all would have heard of it.
Not necessarily automotive, as as young Matthew has already established. I don't know Vegemite.
Vegemite. The Vegemite.
The tornado. Love it.
Is he incorrect? David Prince.
I'm sorry, incorrect the price in the shop.
Does Billabong still exist as a company?
Billabong does exist. I'll go as Billabong.
Billabong. Good guess, but no.
If it's the RIP girl I'm going to crack, I'm going to go to Ford and say why did you, why did you, why did you let them take it from you? Yeah, that's right.
That'd be outrageous. That'd be completely outrageous.
Whereas Patchwood say Haram, that would be.
I know Scotty, no idea. You guys are all out.
I can't even have a guess. Boys, boys, boys.
OK, the major Aussie brand that Toyota have this week announced collaboration with is The Wiggles.
What? The Bru, the big reduce, it
replaces the red. Oh my God, that makes total
sense. Well, lady, how?
And it features an industrial bubble machine capable of 6000 bubbles per minute. That's it. 48 Volt electric
motor and is capable of speeds up to 20 kilometres an hour there. You go the beer.
The marketing that car towards children.
Can you believe the genius of that to actually, yeah.
It's, it's got the Toyota grill on it.
It's it's loosely based on an FJ series.
It's got hearts in the headlights so that they can flash hearts in the headlights. Jeez.
And it's replacing the Big Big Red car.
And it's being revealed at the Tamworth Music Festival.
So to our all our big red car, you know, fans out there, you know it'll be now fan at your local modem music, Pepperidge Farm remembers a week before they sold out.
I have seen that on about four different certain news services and car things and and car services, no.
That's cool though. That's cool.
All right. Question 7, seeing this, this is
the last, last podcast for the year.
We're looking forward to next year and of course, what's next year, Magna 40th, OK. Yeah, I'm upset.
Yeah. How many first generation
Mitsubishi Magnas were manufactured in Australia from 1984 to 1991, covering the TM, the TN and the TPC closest to OH? God don't even know where to
start. Jeez, I'm not having a good
night so I'm going to just dump a punt.
I'm going to reckon. I think they made about 185,000
of them. 185,000. Guard, I'll do 250. 2:50.
I'm gonna say 201. One's a scooty. 01.
I'm gonna say 1:30. 130 Yep, I'm.
Gonna say 88,000. Oh, you were a little fatal.
And that's shocking. Outrageous you're.
You're you're banned from Magna 40th though.
Walk Scotty gets the chocolates 201 and he said gets 201.
I have an authority from the Mitsubishi Magna guru of Australia, Mr Andrew Wigglesworth that it was 210,000 cars. Oh.
Jeez, there you go. I've been 1991.
Score check. Chad and Scotty 3 apiece.
Patrick get the score. Allen .5 myself and 1.
Still anybody's game I think. Still anybody's game.
Absolutely, right. OK.
So question a Mitsubishi did very well with the Magna programme and part of that was a very, very successful export programme which was the first Magna exported.
Matthew. Matthew.
The after specific model or. Model and derivative issue,
Ocean or body? Diamante I mean it could have
been an early on. No, no, I think, I think it was
ATR Magna. Incorrect.
Oh, OK. Was it Chad?
Is it one of the last of the TLTM?
And it was the Elite? No, not the elite.
What are they called? I can't remember the badge are.
You thinking verada? No.
Maybe, but was it? Thinking that.
Was it a first Gen? It was a first Gen.
OK. Oh, yeah.
Oh, no, you're right. Yes.
Oh, God, I know what it is now. Oh, you idiot, I don't.
Know the name. How long I'll go with the TP
for? Half a point, I think.
I think I stopped the question up tonight really because I sort of answered Chad's question. That's all right.
I'm happy to give him half the point if if he's if he's correct. What did you say?
TP Yes, that's actually not correct.
Maddie. What was the name?
Like what the Magna Aussie I believe, is that correct?
David Prince. No, you're thinking the Magna
Kangaroo. Kangaroo, yeah.
Aussie was the Bluebird super hatch.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure it was that that they imported to Japan. But I I can't.
Yeah, I think, I think. Where it we'll give you half a
point because it was Japan. That was the bonus question.
Where was it exported to? It was shown it was the TN
waggon. Yeah.
Are you giving him half a point for answering a question that wasn't asked yet, David? Well.
You saying there's no collusion? I'm going to lose.
I'm not winning. So I've got collusion now too.
No, no. From where we given Maddie half
a point, we're given Chad half the point.
I think Chad deserves half a point because I'm hoping to give Chad half the point. It's Maddie stolen half a point
is what I'm saying. Listen.
Dan as long. As you don't get the half point
to to give you the wrong model Alan.
Hand back the half the point buddy, I'll give it back.
I'll give it back the the the half the points.
Give it back the I'll gotten half point.
Back. I don't feel like I deserved it.
Also it wasn't even the one I was thinking.
But anyway, it was the right model, but it wasn't the right state and stuff. Question 9.
Let's rack this up before it gets to politically incorrect.
By my calculations, this was the first car designed and built outside of Japan by a Japanese company and then exported back to Japan. So you're getting what I'm
saying. Yeah, yeah.
These were actually designed in Australia and they it was exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show.
And they said, oh, I'll be like this.
So they then commenced exporting it back to Japan.
So that yeah, technically the first Japanese car designed and built outside of Japan by a Japanese company and then exported back to Japan. So you think you you're picking
up what I'm putting down, Correct.
OK. What was the second?
Not an AND, and it's not an Australian car.
To Japan. What was the first?
The sorry the second Japanese car designed and built outside of Japan and then exported back to Japan by a Japanese company.
And this second car was not built in Australia, you're saying? No, no.
Big star. Made about it at the time, but
technically as I, as I was doing these questions tonight and I got that from Andrew, yeah, we beat them again.
Matthew. Matthew.
It might have been ADSM like a diamond star motor and built in America and shipped back. So they they did the Eagle Talon
and Mitsubishi Eclipse like the first Gen eclipses they did.
They did build them in the States and send them back to Japan. So that's going to be my guess
and. What year was that, do you
reckon? It'd have to be early 90s or
late 80s. It'd have to be of that, of that
ilk. It'd have to be super like close
to sorry, what was that? Is he correct?
Yeah, it it Yeah, it is. I want to look up when the first
Gen was was mad because because. Sam, we never got them here.
Yeah, they're cool. The the 1G Eclipse was from
891989 to 2011, so built in the United States and then on the domestar motors and they were sold back in Japan.
They even had a race series of them in Japan, but I guess I'm wrong. So that is not the car we're
looking for. These are not the droids we're
looking for. So you're saying this car was
the the Eclipse was lighter than this car?
Yes, I am saying that OK, we've got we've got 1987 the Magna gets exported to Japan, 1989 the eclipse gets exported back to Japan from America. So it's an 88 I'm assuming?
We'll assumed well. I'm trying to think of what it
what it could be now. OK.
I'll let you have a guys have a guess and then I think I might have another one. But for another point, that's a
great question. Actually, it's a really tough
question. Chad, was it like a Scorpio or
something? Incorrect.
OK, Scotty's in deep thought. No.
No ADA Simba. I can see Simba's ears sticking.
He's got a cart to help. Yeah, he's colluding with a cat.
I'll just think of the faster and Eddie faster like yeah, it's a Geo. No, I think, I mean I'd go on,
but you guys are you got all our chance.
It was the 3rd generation Honda Accord 2 door coupe.
OK, cool. Oh.
Really. Pop up headlight.
Google it, it's pretty car. Yeah, yeah.
Cool car. Yep.
Sorry all. Left hand drive, which is a
status symbol in Japan as it was back then and still is today.
And that'll be that'll be yank made, wouldn't it?
That's right. That was just in America.
Oh yeah, the left back thing, yeah.
Boot had a boot so it was a 2 door coupe.
Did they at least change the clusters out to kilometres or was it before Japanese people driving miles and just getting confused? Hurricanes do love their 2 door
coupes so that wasn't in the range because Honda were producing the sedan and the Hatch so.
A2 door, Yeah, right. And they actually went through
into the CB and then the CD. They actually produced 2 door.
Coupes. Yeah, right.
Yeah. Pretty calm.
Yeah. Ever seen one in Australia?
But OK, they if you say a lot and on Goonet in Japan, you can look them up there there's. Because we've got the we've got
the aero deck and then we've got the four door sedan.
Yep. Yeah, OK, I don't think I've
ever seen a 2 door coupe with a boot.
They actually sold the two door the CDs, so 90 mid 90s.
They sold that in in the UK. Yeah, there it is.
Is that No. Jeez, that was a terrible photo.
No. That's a hatch all.
Right, I can't even find it. They they had pop ups like like
they looked like a like a similar to an Integra front end, correct. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. Oh.
We got the Aqua, the sedan and the Hatch here, but we did recruit in Australia and yeah, Chad.
Chad's struggling with his camera.
I don't know what's going on with the camera.
Oh, it's because I've got the thing.
I'm sorry. Never mind.
That's right. I've got the blur effect going.
That's why it won't focus on that.
I think I found it though. That's cool looking.
Question, Jen, last question. Thank goodness for everybody.
It's. Been a little quiz.
Which manufacturer this week announced their first the development of their first hype car that is being built to comply with World Insurance Championship regulations allowing it to race at Le Mans. You read the question though
which? Manufacturer this week announced
the development of their first hypercar that is being built to comply with World Insurance Championship regulations allowing it to race at Le Mans. Matthew is a Toyota.
Incorrect. OK, I've had a shocker tonight.
I've had a Mayor, Alan. Alan.
Is it a Hyundai? More information please.
Dick, that's all I got an end Hyundai end division something don't know. My 30 end sedan mate.
That's it. It's hard for a car, if you
believe it. Oh.
I'll no, I'll I'll give you. I'll I'll give.
You .5 M. Sorry.
Would you .5 M .5 in done deal you?
Point the rest of them now, Alan, it's actually Genesis.
Yeah, close enough. That's enough, yeah.
I'll say the. Same genesis. 001.
Oh, though I did see that. I saw, I saw.
I saw something for that. That's Yeah, that's cool.
OK, there's a bonus question. Rumoured to be fitted with the
twin turbo V6 producing how many Kilowarps closest to wings?
Matthew, I'm going to say 485. 485.
Yeah. That's safe.
What? Was that?
55550. Yep.
We have 500 on the dot. 500 on the dot, Chad. 600.
Patrick, 600. Allen, I'll let Maddie get his
bearings because I think I can't write these down.
We'll have to have people to repeat some numbers.
I've got. I've written them down.
I've written the arcade. Could you could you read out
some of those numbers, David? No, that's Hannigan's.
That's. All right, 617. 617 OK, Alan,
you win the point. Thank you.
Alan, I'm. So close to get a half a point.
So is that I had to read it twice because it's not a misprint 1104. What?
Kilowatts what the? Hell.
That's crazy. So.
That's some sort of hybrid thing, right?
Or full electric. Hyper.
That's that's a by definition of hyper hyper I suppose, isn't it so? Hyper.
Yeah, for sure. I don't know how they do Twin
turbo V6 producing 11149 kilowatts.
It's like an 8 litre V6 or something.
Didn't say how big it was. I don't know.
I don't care about these hyper cars.
All I want is the Envision 74. That's all I want to exist.
That's serious. When you get a company, you get
a building and, you know, designing a car for that race, basically. Oh my.
God. No, it's wild.
All right, I'll give you a score check.
Mr. David Prince hit me. Patrick had a wasn't able to
score. He knows he's he's pretty upset.
Patrick's playing golf rules. He won.
He's played. He's playing golf rules.
I came second last and 1 alum on two Scotty and three and Chad's tonight's winner on 3.5 is Chad. Is this your first win?
It is my first one. Congratulations brother.
Thank you very much. Beautiful.
That was a great quiz, David. Thank you.
It was. A tough quiz.
It was tough, yeah. It was a very tough quiz.
Chad, is anyone you want to thank?
Just, you know, everyone, everyone, everyone for not.
Showing up, you know, doing, doing a bad job, yeah.
Yeah, Maddie for not being quizmaster, so don't ask him when. See, see, you're a very humble
person, Chad, because Scotty would be like, I just want to think for some of you, I mean, if you're winning, you're supposed to be thanking yourself, right?
Because you didn't put in all the effort.
Scotty, Scotty reminds me of that guy who won.
Was it the first? He wants to be a millionaire and
he calls his dad just to tell me a little win, win.
He doesn't even ask the question.
So, yeah, I don't know if you guys have seen this.
He hasn't used any lifeline up to tell the $1,000,000 question.
And he asked the $1,000,000 question.
He's like, I'll use a lifeline. And he's like, oh, OK.
He do you want to, what do you want to do?
He's like, oh, I want to, I want a phone call.
My dad calls his dad. Hey there.
I'm, I'm on. I'm only got 30 seconds.
I'm on. You know who wants to be a
millionaire? I'm not going to ask you a
question. I'm just going to tell you I'm
about to win $1,000,000 and it's next.
On the phone. And it's the $1,000,000, so
it's. Oh, no way.
So you knew the, you knew the question, You knew the answer to the last one. It was brilliant.
I'm going to I'll have to send it to you guys in the chat.
It's it's, it's it's one of the all time bad ass kind of moves.
I think it's, it's, it was a power move is what that is.
General, I think that's a quiz. Before we finish, just wanna say
thank you to you all for being part of the show for this year.
This is probably the last show of the year or, or we might try to get one more in before the end of the year.
But it, it might, we might be a bit tight with time.
Wanna wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our listeners and to all our to all our members on the show, to all the people on the back end, you know that that do a lot of stuff. You know, you, you guys always,
you know, help me out, always supporting.
So I wanted to give you guys a big shout out and say thank you to all of you. Thanks to our patrons for
specifically, you know, sticking with us and and supporting the show that way. Yeah, just want to wish you guys

important. Don't drive safely.
Don't yeah, don't break the law. And if you're breaking the law,
don't get caught. That's there's some wise words
cartel top tip and and the show on Let's do some plugs.
David Prince, you do a podcast. Oh, I think everyone knows about
it now. That's called order area trial
and it's yeah, yeah. Hopefully it's coming back in
the new year. Hopefully fingers, fingers
crossed, fingers crossed. We've got some exciting stuff
hopefully for that coming soon. Scotty's golf tip of the week,
last tip of the last tip of the of the year.
Would you? Would you put a Christmas tip
in? Tip of the week, oh Christmas
one. Hopefully some people out there
get some nice new Golf clubs for Christmas.
That'd be nice. If you do, hit up the driving
range, have a couple hits. Oh and remember, because a lot
of people are on holidays, that means the golf courses are going to be busy, so be respectful to other people on the course.
You're not there by yourself, so don't sit there and hold up and think you're a pro and practise swings 10 million times you're.
Not a pro. I thought this is directed at
someone specifically. Just a lot in general, you just
get these people that think like they're absolute professionals and they'll just sit there and you're sitting there like waiting for a shot and they're just stuffing around and then they. Pick a kid.
And it goes like 20 metres. You're like, Oh my God.
You. You.
Your time. 'S good at a great, just play at
a normal pace. Like fair enough, sit there and
have a couple practise swings and that, but don't have like 20 of them. OK, take the piss.
Exactly right. Think of others.
Patrick, anything you want to, anything you want to plug.
Yeah, I'll plug my my dad's up and running new business again.
So for all your automotive and especially European cars needs German line automotives over 40 years of experience in a car, old or new, be able to diagnose, repair on spot and offer you good quality service at the same time.
Very good. Like that one that sounded
rehearsed. That was great.
Chad. Chad, anything you want to plug
tonight? Mate no just thanks for doing
the show Maddie and everyone being part of it, it's always fun. Thanks, good to have a chat.
I appreciate that Mister Ambit Singh correct.
