"I've got a few that I know attorney 25 this year. What do you see as your 25 year? Old picks, the gc8, Subaru, WRX, mmm, so that's 1998. That one's on their those, for"
I said, I think my New Year's resolutions going to be to put weight on because that might be one that work might work.
Might actually continue. No, no, I'm going to get healthy
and you know, Embrace the day and, you know, literally of the week. Anyway, it's every day, every
day you should just drive to be, do something good every day, not just because it's a new year. What does that mean that it's
like me on New Year's Day, does like a picture of people at the gyms, like, it's packed it in January.
S like no one there, that's it. Yes, yeah, yeah.
Something came up. No.
Anyway in the interim you've been, you've been well, I was fine until I tested by the positive pick either the week for the first time for three days before Christmas, which sort of put a kibosh on most of the celebrations that will plan but no, I wasn't the only one and awful.
Lot of people I know seem to know people that weren't there.
Sitting around the table at Christmas time.
So yeah. But thankfully very very mild
and I'm raring to go now. So people awesome.
Very, very good Mr. Bunting, happy New Year.
New Year's resolution. Come on your puller, and I
haven't made a resolution. Normally, I do about, I did join
the gym end of last year, so I sort of got in earlier, I think I preempted it. The guy, I'm now, and I did.
I was going or what? I say was, you know, I've just
been away for a short time. So, you haven't been this year.
I haven't been this year, that's but I You know, maybe tomorrow.
Okay, he's resolution. Maybe we can morph this into car
updates. I've decided to become a little
bit more open-minded or and I may have agreed to buy something that normally, I wouldn't buy. Wow, is it another Ford Falcon?
No. See I would buy those, and I did
buy that we doing car update. There was this just New Year's
New Year's Rose and they kind of know I've decided to be more open-minded. I don't Have a resolution other
than that, that's cool. That's cool.
Well, we'll get, we'll get back to you very shortly.
Cross happy New Year. New Year's resolution with you,
my friend Happy New Year, to everyone to look on my own maybe a little bit different. I don't take these new years as
something special. You know I'm saying?
Because every day where we're on this planet, it should be the best day we could make it. No you telomers you tell him.
So go girl in the real world in the real words of Akon, before he went full philanthropist in Africa and Senegal live each day of your life, like it's going to be your last.
Yeah, you know, so, but now it's been, it's been good so far, I've just been working away plan strategies, for next, for this year. I guess, while everyone else is
still not back at back at back at it and yeah, just hoping for this. Ear, even though we don't count
these ears could be a really good one for cars and yeah, just just a goody I'm hoping to catch up more with my good friends on this podcast. That sounds like a lovely.
Lovely idea. Scotty do Happy New Year and New
Year's resolution. Thank you.
Happy New Year to you. Also I guess mine would just
have to be to get the 31 on the road, isn't it?
Oh my God. Surely, there is illusion that
keeps on giving. Everyone was last year's record.
Well, you know, let's let's make this one happen.
It's closest than I'll ever be. So it's very quick for people to
go back to work and then I can get a couple more things done and it should be ready, very good, very and any plans for the expansion of Scottish if Imports business Towards electric vehicles. We need to get a listen, Sakura,
Australia. So the main man, we need a bit
of an update is that part of your New Year?
Resolution apart from getting the 31 back on the road but just to put your chef's hat on and just open the doors, I probably should, you know agreed. We need it.
It's a little morsel for the shift to prepare for us all mmm, I would be really interested. Rested to see one of those are
chemical organ. The very cool.
What is that? What are you talkin about?
Listen, Sakura that they EV K car.
All right. Okay.
It's it's got one of the smallest batteries.
I've seen in a car it's 20 kilowatt hours, but if that's a city car and it's going to be the coolest car.
But, you know, Scotty just letting you know, there's a bit of urgency because there is another car that I've been on out. And I think we might have
mentioned it. Four weeks ago, that Abbas.
And if that arise before, then my man, we're going to have to Fork out twice. The money together opens the
doors. And and you know, starts cooking
when those are very cool-looking little car to, I really liked it. I was at was that we're dealing
and took a photo for mr. Revere Austin.
Send a team over 59, 95 a bath. And I'm like, I like it's such
an angry-looking little car, isn't it?
So cool. But there's a bit of a
pre-emptive to buy the, the electric one.
Mr. Is because you are, you are the EB guy who got to do it
very, very good. Good, to see all your
resolutions, could see all you gentlemen in the New Year.
It's a big year for everybody. I'm assuming hopefully and for
our listeners as well. But let's get into some car.
Hang on. We didn't get it the main man.
Yeah, the legends to Evolution, what's your resolution?
Sell the LTD. Yeah that's someone message me
about it but then I responded to him and then they gave me nothing. So I can show you a screenshot
and send it to you laughs. Yeah.
That's to go. I want to be able to be properly
fit so I can actually do the full 40 yard care.
He's for the all the run so I Got training really well and then got sick and then kind of didn't finish what I wanted to do. So this year the Year for it so
that is that is my resolution. So I'm going to use it.
When is the race? It's in October.
So I actually got the flu in October and I couldn't, I didn't I didn't run, so but I think I'll be able to do it this year.
So fingers crossed everything going.
Well, I'm going to start really probably training hard which are gradually getting myself into it.
But being able just, That's it, it's legit.
Anyway, that is my resolution gentleman will get it some car update with mr. David Prince will start with
you. I know you've been unwell with
with the cough, however, that's sort of translated in need to losing a redoing. My Hot Wheels display.
So it was a corrupt data source. The Altima is so juggling those
around except I had a few scores over Christmas surreptitiously appear in. My little box, which was pretty,
pretty cool with those with some ahead.
Now, I actually had a couple of cars in the ensuing week, I actually have a having mr. Bunny, wouldn't be here tonight
to hear about the Tata box wagons service that I had the all 30,000 case, service for the caddy and the DSD clutches so that they they replace the clutch has under warranty.
So no squeaky, squeeze any more weight so It's a.
So if you replace them with the same, DSG clutches, that might last that he has a case or no. No, they are assumed to see
sites like a modified part of my part of Italy.
That's good. So cross it so, did you say
well, looks like I'll see you in 40,000 km wouldn't have said that. Now, I was still really because
that actually, they had the 36,000 case service, which is every 15,000 cases, they recommend.
So Second service. They bring me in the middle of
the day with the report and they suggested that I do another tooth. I've just added it up, two
thousand, nine hundred and thirteen dollars and seventy-five cents worth of work or tails of what.
Exactly front brakes rear, brakes, pads and rotors on both forward to it ties a low. They didn't think that last
another 15 has in case so really why should replace those with them as well and wipers? So cable 2,400 bucks.
Is it 2,900 $13.75? I will I would not be doing any
of that. I said, thank you for letting me
know, but I'll add in my own good time.
Thank you very much. I would be like, you know what?
I'll think of it. I'll think about that one.
It's a hard hard pass really hard, which I think was the 29th of December. I said, you know, it's very hard
to come up with that sort of money straight after Christmas, you understand. That was my is that car under
kept fry servicing? And that's a good question.
I think it's to get that doesn't wear that wear and tear things.
They're not part of, I know. That's right, that's that's
their extras. So you have 600 bucks for the
service, that, that was the price.
Before I went in on, you was gonna be 600 bucks.
Plus the gave me a team Rock full motion.
Ah, there's a as a like, which was pretty nice.
But before I drive up, they did say the excess was $5000.
And what I like to reduce that to 1500 by paying 55.
I said, yes. I think that's probably a good
idea. So let's, yes.
You pay the fifty five dollar to future, because, okay, $655.
So that's what the service cost me.
Yeah. Which, you know?
But yeah, I think, I think, I think break front brakes for $827 15. I think I can probably do a
little better than that. Yeah.
Anyway, so to work in progress, the community had once been sitting at a dealership at John Deere Automotive on display in the showroom and they did a service for me and I picked it up and it was $159 so that made the contrast a day apart was pretty significant snow possible.
So thankfully the N1 didn't need any.
I said I thought it might need break pets.
It's just done 50,000 campaigns but they said, no, this easily 10,000 case a had material left on.
Been popular than 4,000 case in two years or 6,000 cases in two years or something. So that'll last me.
So that was good, that's running.
I feel a little train oh I picked up in the wagon got from dropped back, the Civic wagon. Drop back to me with a new
exhaust system so it doesn't sound like a tractor anymore which is great. What a surplus in Mitchum helped
in Kill sites. Are you help me out with an
exhaust manifold? That is the correct one, because
the new one in the bag, in the back of the car was not the correct one which is probably why I was Still in the packet for $25, had a new exhaust gaskets that actually fitted, so manifold gasket. So yeah, so there's moving a
little bit of movement, but I'm still off work this week and hopefully get a little bit more playing around with cars to do between now and then mr. Bunting, hello.
I missed a few weeks. I'm trying to remember where we
got to with cars anyone. Remember where I was at with
anything? You have milk?
Yeah. Mike was driving but no brakes,
was it? Oh, yeah, that's right.
I suck it up the street and round to the server and back with just handbrake, which was dicey.
So I had the money toad to my mechanic or one of my mechanics, who did the rear brake hoses. Adjustable rear brakes did the
manifold gasket on the engine? Fix the oil leak with the seals
that are provided basically stuffed around with it for a month or so, and But couldn't get the front brake.
Hoses off. Currently they're tricky.
I don't know why. But yeah, so I had it trucked
from him to the Moke Specialists and we in two days, you know, the front hoses were done and it had break.
So they said come and get it which was on a slightly rainy kind of day a couple of weeks ago.
So I am yeah, caught the train out with the trade played and it was drizzling a bit on my way out and I thought, oh, this could be dicey driving home with no.
Because the roof is physically off at getting repaired.
I can't, I don't even have the option of putting a river.
It's literally there's no roof. So I drove it home from Mitchum
all the way to my place in Melbourne, which it drove pretty well. You know, it was, it's still got
an exhaust leak from somewhere. The motor needs a tune.
There's a couple of things that are kind of see, right?
The tires, they're doing etcetera but but it drew it got all the way back to Mars without overheating or throwing the sitting in a dummy or doing anything horrible.
And I was like, all right. So then I started driving in a
couple of other places that I probably shouldn't till I get more things done, but I was excited.
So I took it down to our friends in South yarra and we took it around the tan and I'm sort of double clutching.
So we had bled the clutch but it was getting worse and worse and I thought, oh this is the clutch has got air in the system.
It needs bleeding again. So the trip home from there I
had no clutch at all. But basically by the end of that
my friends like I would you have to call a tow truck and I said nah let's let's just wing it you know so Rolling down Caroline streams out there. So starting it on the starter
motor and then these like really say, go, you know, out onto Alexandra and and once you've once you moving changing Gears of, no clutch is not that hard. You just time, it sort of thing,
you know, rev-match it, but starting off from lights is bad.
So we tried to avoid all the lights and it was this.
It was like some sort of a, I don't know, a movie Challenger say, I don't know, but we're both just too high on a gentle and if he's like, don't take blood that this left, go right here. And then Okay.
Round about ready? Ready?
Ready, go? You know, it was just this
stupid Mad Dash back to my house with no clutch.
So that was fun. I was like, we both had as a
rolling down the street, I click the garage remote and up goes the door. And we just clean and I was
like, wow, that was fun. Since then I have bled.
The clutch found out. The reason it was getting a was
because one of the lines wasn't tight, probably my fault because I put that back on. So re blend it in it seems.
Alright. And I've driven Couple of times
since and it's it seems. Alright, I've booked it in with
the mic Specialists for like little gen 20th to sort out the final things like it needs a temp gauge fitted.
It needs a tune. I'll get the tires done this
week. I bought, I really splashed out
on the tires. I bought for near New Chinese
pieces of horribleness from the record that David.
And I like for $60 bra for, and I was like, that's better than the rock bad crap. That's on it now.
So, you know it's a mic Okay, how good does it?
I need to be. So yeah, that project is coming
along. Well done something though.
And I'm picking it up tomorrow that you will be shocked at.
I have omega Holden, Cruze, we know that I've owned a Ford Taurus. Says, Matt likes to mention, you
know, that now agreed to purchase a Volkswagen.
Which yes. Is it goes against the grain but
there's too modern. Wagons that I'm sort of okay,
with one of them is the multi van, which is what I've agreed to purchase. The other one is a Volkswagen up
that little great. The little three-cylinder up
exclamation about, which I like those.
My friend has a multi van and 2-liter Diesel with the DSG, it's a wet clutch, DSG, not the dry clutch.
Parently the wick clutches are a lot better and my friends had no issues, my friends GTI who had all those issues didn't have any with the DSG being wet quite. So I think they still can In
stuff up but nowhere near as much as the dry clutch ones.
So it's mine a winner or a dryer.
Yours is a Drew right? Little mode is the the 1.4 1.6.
Whatever is the little the the dry clutches multi Vans being an older design and the gulf's of the wet clutch.
And there's probably a couple of others.
So, I test drove this multiband, think it's a 2010 done, 134,000, and it drove really well in the air, con was cold and I thought, you know, it's got a service history and I was like, yeah.
It's cheap enough that I'll I'll Wing this and hope that it doesn't go bang. So if you're thing to do
tomorrow David, you can drive me out to pick that up, rumor has it, you know, close Altona, you know, it might be a nice drive you to look at it. All right, faster.
So that's the multi-man of agreed to purchase.
What else, the BMW 130? I have I told you about that.
I bought one of those six. People think your Six, Rob,
shaking his head. He doesn't like other you'd like
that car. Nothing but problems.
Again, it was cheap in the previous guys done.
Windscreen radiator tires, shocks bushes, Bluetooth module.
Something else was done to it, and it's so tidy drives beautifully. So I took it.
I took a little punt on that one too, cereals.
Yeah, I'm sure there are things that will go wrong with it.
I'm it there's no warning lights and it's sweet as pie, good stuff. So that'll get a service.
And I just need to get the roof lining redone at the back or get the whole thing redone because it's just sagging a bit.
Once that's done, I will advertise that car but I think whoever buys that will be someone that wants a 130i, you know, they'll want to manual. Don't want that straight-6
engine. Yeah.
Yeah, so I think that's, that's all I've got in stock, multi van to come in and 130i. So, I've really gone downhill,
haven't heard from The Hondas, and I've really delved in a European Rabbit Hole. I thought you were better than
this Edward. I honestly think I better use my
car trailer. Got stolen.
Oh, that wasn't good. Was it believing it attached to
the car, probably, but it was one night.
Have a like 11:30. I was going to be at again at 8
a.m. you know it's sitting here in moles and it's not Dandenong
North and I just thought hey, you know, we'll win that came out in the morning and hmm, bad move it move.
So I dare say that we'll have the numbers ground off button the interstate or something and it'll never turn up again.
So yeah, you see a great table for sale with a, with a red winch, bread brand-new cable on it.
So you can talk top tip. Well, I thought about I thought
am I Better off, pulling it off the car and putting the dealloc thing on it or just leaving on the car because it's bit of a pain to get off the car and I decide to leave it on the cart but of we see that's probably the wrong move.
Most in that case probably yeah I mean one night and the irony is you know my friend Tommy who's been on this podcast on for, he just agreed to buy half of my other mate who owned owned half of it. So he's transferred in the
money, I was taking it to Tommy's house, like to go here's the card tray. Like you know, done.
It's your problem now because his dad's got a country property and that's where it was going to live one night.
You know, bring him. And I said I've got to be a
problem for me because all is the trailer broken.
I still stuck broken. It's just, it was really up
stick with me. So I haven't talked to him
since. Yeah.
So the moral of the story lock up, your lock up, your things countertop tip walk up. You're lucky B trailer.
Yeah, I wanted describing off the actual bolts or just get them portable grinder and be gone in seconds.
Anyway, yeah, yeah, look, if they really wanted it they would they would have just round off that lock thing.
So look at it might have gone. Anyway, even if I'd done that
really, what I probably should have done is put it in the garage but the 130 I was in the garage.
Maybe it's better to video on the trail in the garage.
Yeah. And now we're starting to get a
bit involved. Yeah. 11:30 on that.
You've just heard the docile tones of mr.
Robin Holly, how are you guys? Very good, not too bad.
Thanks happy. Not happy New Year and merry
Christmas or past Christmas. Yeah.
So we've been into sort of tinkering away on the Merc the 380 SEC. But the roof Bonnet boot down to
bare metal. So, I went and bought me Glaser
at glass, the Riff and the coat glasurit.
So, just under code itself is a thousand dollars.
Whoa, yeah. Yeah, thousand dollars.
So, that's for the two part mix. So the glasses are written and
harder, but it's a one application.
So it's basically an X prime a prime and high Fuel, and all you have to do is just mix. The The harder at a different
ratio and so, we'll see how it goes with the Glazier.
Got that today, still looking for a filter drier, you can press the so I can actually just apply the Glazier.
If note with no moisture. Moisture out of the compressor,
that's going to be the tough part.
Yeah. But apart from that.
So, yeah, that's coming along. Well, no, I have a car updates
with this is ookies. Transits Tesla's running.
All right, that's been going good touch wood.
Yeah. So it's been a pretty quiet one.
Really with cars. Very good.
Give it a bit of a break which is nice to hear.
Yeah. Bit of a break, bit of a break,
talk to staying for a spin today, up to Geelong.
Yeah, so that was good. Took it out for a stretch and it
hasn't been driven for a while. So, apart from that really, not
much else is happening on big. Yeah, it took me by talk.
That me stickers, I had to change all.
Be reggae stick the club. Permit stickers on the cars.
So we've got we got horror from a mineral pretty much at the same day little stickers and putting any sticking stickers on the Wind screens and stuff like that.
It's pretty simple. It's pretty shocking to say it.
Not disappointing but I look at my blog books and I go are given that 10 times last year okay? Nine times last All right, what
you got? Jay several really not even
getting value out of my private box.
It's a waste of paper and stood in the end when you've got written in it four times and got to throw it away and start again, you gonna throw it away, start again, so, but apart from that. Yeah.
All the cars are starting going to write August or to fix the fuel level gauge on E30. The BMW for some reason, when I
took the change the fuel pump and upgraded, it will replace a fuel pump. Zipper broke at the same time,
the relay broke as well. I don't know everything just
shorted out. So the change of relayed, a fuel
pump, got it all back together. I was real careful reassembly so
not to damage anything because I know they're very delicate and sure enough. The fuel level gauge doesn't
work now. So go fix that up sort of get
stuck into that. And I've got so many little
things to do it. So I just don't know where to
start. But at a time, let's get this
SEC on the road. I saw right?
Al in this Rob, just write a list.
Yeah. It's a long list.
I'm going to keep the least just just for one thing.
Next thing. Thanks.
You know, I try to do that once with the F100 project many years ago and I looked at the list and I gave up just looking at the list helps, keep the least you have to stick to the list.
I know it was a long list of things to do, but I have one for each car in my phone and as I do things, I remove them from the list, at least always gets shorter and shorter and then, you know, you lad. More things on, but it's always
like a running sheet of each car.
Yeah that's what I do on my notes some on in my phone that helps. Yeah.
Well it does help absolutely does happy.
You got to keep that list and you got to keep you got a wrench every day as they say, yes. Yeah.
So if you start, if you get too lazy and you don't do anything, you're going to fall so far behind in getting things done, you'll never get it done. Let's put, it also depends on.
Time. Like I would look at the listen,
guys, I've got 20 minutes. What could I do?
In, in that time slot? I can't do a and b, but I could
do F on the list and I can unbolt that or rewire you know, run that wire or something with me.
Like I find it. I'm going to get stuck into
something and I can't stop and leave it and start again.
Stop and start all time. Let's get stuck into it.
You got to go from start to finish.
For joining that day, rather than stopping to go and get lunch, stop in the going to Something else and you know, someone's called you. Then you're on the phone, you
don't want to. You don't even want to be on the
phone because, you know, you've got a task to do, put your phone on airplane mode. And just yeah, it's like that.
Yeah. And you get stuck into YouTube
videos and all this is your TV and yeah, like even now between this is like it should be working out there on the car and just keep on just getting everything doubt, sort of Every Little Jeans, you know, just keep on, just keep at it, one panel at a time. Get to a point where it's ready
to get sprayed, as the guy wanting to spray to come over the other day to have a look at it goes, get it ready, and we'll spray it. So that's good.
So he's keen on getting it out of the way as well.
Are you still doing that car in a custom color?
I think to remember you're doing it in something.
No, we're just going to do that. It's silver will talking about
going what? The slightly darker gray.
But what's more? It's just or silk.
Yeah, but I think we're gonna stick to the silver.
Just keep it silver. Yeah.
Okay. I think it will keep the value
more so being original and if you think you need to pack has been done in, Glaser it so it's going to be a good sister, a job. Oh yeah.
I forgot to mention Maddie in my cart date.
I've just got back today from Sydney.
I took the try go Melbourne, Canberra Canberra, Sydney Sydney Melbourne. So that's what Something km all
up, doesn't miss a beat. So my mag was like, why don't
you take the multi van. I was like, for a, I haven't got
it yet, but be, I've actually got more faith in the tour over making a Volkswagen, a quarter of the km, you know.
Yeah. The turaga just nothing like ran
like clockwork. It's bit sweaty.
No aircon. But other than that, it's a
Raga. It was all fine.
Yeah, Ross up days with you. Look while man.
Since we were talking about the turaga, you know, choose their nights as usually when they when the territory hago gets the most amount of work out at any KFC drive-through, but I think I've taken that through a bloody cozy drive-thru.
Well my man you come out of the South Eastern suburbs and my boys the other boys boys. That's where that's where they
are. That's where they are.
So that's why you know. Usually I don't get to have a
feed with them because I'm usually on the podcast.
But you know I'm saying to rago's, always getting worked out. So 2000k is nothing compared to
the load on a Tuesday night now on the car, front dance.
Of, it's a sad day today. What's wrong reason that I've
had to list my model 3 Performance up for sale.
Why was he? Why have you got a camera?
No, no, well, that is a company car but it's I think it's I think the timing is right. The part ways with it.
Yeah, huh. Any bites on it and I just, I
literally published it in a closed Facebook group that's on me. Tesla, buy and sell just to get
started. And then next week, I'll listed
on consoles, but the main reason behind the sale is, there's a new model in the works that Tesla has.
That is A lot of information known about it, but I think by March or April or there'll be a lot of information out and even the model 3 Performance may possibly be going plaid.
So there is new. Drivetrain, a whole lot of new
tech and things that are going into it.
They call it the project Highland and as that's, and that's going to be in production by 2:45 this year.
Okay? So forth for For potential
deliveries in Australia or Shanghai bills.
Which delivers all the cars are potentially by quarter for.
So we're talking about a car that you know on the performance spec will be under three seconds.
Oh, possibly with a yoke. But yeah there's a there's a
fair few things happening in the background that they've they've got a they've got to make it happen.
So I'm just that's one reason. Another reason is while that
happens, I'm not by myself, will be why the dolphin.
Well when it when it finally, when it finally swims its way across and hopefully by June and the word on the street for that is March, orders are opening here.
Just tell you, the US somehow three with you and then I went and had a look at one chadstone. They are actually really nice
like they're really the finishes incredible.
Everything is really, really nice and tidy.
It's got some cool quirks and you have seen a 50 on the road and I can see why they're selling really, really well.
Yeah. It's I think they've got, you
know, the wanted to be different so they are different but I think pictures don't do the car Justice until you sort of sit in it and have and driving. It is a it's a different thing
as Well, it drives better than most other TVs that are currently converted from a petrol or diesel platform.
Like the M.G.'s it is.
But yeah so the dolphin if it you know I'm hoping it will land here around 38,000 and then if I get 3 Grand back from the government. So 35 Grand and governments
handing out money. As we know with our regular
album, deep Singh who's locked up in his basement tonight.
When there's money being handed out a brown, man can't say I know that. So we'll have to take will have
to take that. So, 35 grand for our ground up,
electric car, possibly June, delivery until until the order that I'll need to place for the new model tree.
And because the model less ordered that I have won't happen till I think made 2024, okay, liveries into Australia.
So that's the rough gist of it. But yeah, it's up for sale bit
of a sad day but it's, you know, as we know as brown people, we've got to make the right financial decisions as well.
And unfortunately, that's what's got to happen before the before the value you start to come down quite a bit.
Well, it is a sad day because I do quite like that car.
It's absolutely ridiculous. And it's makes me laugh.
Every time every time I see it, if you doing the right, And I think you'll make it, get you, give you a chance to draw some other cool cars as well which would be, which would be awesome. Well, I'm thinking of buying a
Fiesta ST, from a standard. Yeah, because there's that, that
that's also on the card, but I don't think I can afford a demo Fiesta ST. 40 to 50 Grand. Yeah, yeah, we'll talk about
that in very, very shortly Reese.
Did you get the software updates to your Tesla recently with all the what was the self parking? Inaudible enhanced autopilot
autopilot. Yeah, it's it's I think it went
out free for most cars around the world but it's it's good but it's not. It's not there yet.
No, that's so you still, gotta take, take the steering into your own hands, but it's Auto line changes, not too bad on the freeways, but you can't be doing that on, like, you know, even highways. 80 km speed limits or anything like that?
It's literally strictly freeway only I think.
Yeah if you been riding the Reindeer and the sleigh, I did that last year and this year I was tempted to do it again but then every time I get in I feel like saying ho ho ho and that's not politically correct any so you got to keep the white one, the white model 3. Yeah, yeah that's sisters
driving in at the moment. So it's The only membership.
Well it's it's the minimal sort of car.
I need to stay a member of the Tesla Owners Club.
Hmm. So short term before they kicked
me out for not being the right coupler.
I mean of the car that is but if but now keeping keeping the wild one and yeah, we'll hoping to get the dolphin as a run around for six months or so they'll be cool.
Scotty do updates with you hmm-huh.
Can't top of any of those. I don't really have much.
Sure, since the last time we were on haven't really gone around to do anything with the cars Subarus just sat, there hasn't really been driven for a know a week or more couple weeks. It's been sitting there I have
just finished building my McLaren Formula One car Lego That's is that. Yeah it is.
I'm glad you brought the Lego because at the end we were all bad really that's farther. A31 isn't on the road and it's
got a light kit to that. I'm going to fit into it.
I think I was also a look. Awesome.
It is pretty big like yeah yeah I'll get some photos when I put the light kit and stuff in it too.
Well a bigger than I thought it was going to be like a lot bigger than that. You've got that.
Mustang Maddie. The blue must.
Yeah, it's bigger than that. Yeah.
It's there very long. I've got 12 gold as well and
it's just I I am guilty because I'm like, I can't fit this.
Anyway. We're going to put it.
Yeah. And it's not that many packets
but in each packet, takes you for ages.
So get ready for that immersive experience quality, but like the just the detail is fantastic, the way they've done the suspension and everything in it or it's amazing.
I love that about. I go, you know, it's incredible.
How they how people are pages to design that stuff.
Like I just finished making a DeLorean the other day and I was like to myself, I'm like the fact that this is a job that people get paid to design and make Lego is like that is the best job in the world. Like I'm so jealous of that.
I would want to do that for a daily job.
I reckon that'll be the best thing ever.
I'm pretty straightforward these days.
I would say because everything is all 3D scanned and it gets done straight into a cat folder. Yeah, pretty much.
So it just be cool though. Anyway, I'm a man can dream.
I mean Dream robe. American Dream.
Other than that. That's is it.
I've got number of the all-important garage layout when you've got a blank canvases are urging to deal with.
Oh yeah no I'm looking forward to that.
What? The back to work I think next
week on our house. Yeah I looking forward to that.
See how much room I've got shelving.
I can get and start setting that up.
So Look forward to that very very very excited for that.
Scotty do update with me I drove the typhoon to Adelaide and back which was which was great just set it on cruise and went when they're pretty easily and we're about halfway there and I look in my rearview mirror, there's no one there.
My chi is it just you know, easy darling, do not look up again because I like to check my mirrors because I'm a bit of a cautious driver at times and I see this guy in a Jag XF Ezel fly past me like I was standing still 110.
Like I was like, I was the Jets any so I reckon we doing closer to 100 lies, possibly overtakes me on double and double lanes, and just just, just go straight past him.
Like okay, almost Caesar somewhere to be.
And anyway, legit 10 seconds later, I see a highway patrol cop coming the other way. And I'm like, if only you were
five seconds, it quicker. You want to call this guy doing
all these double the speed limit, So then he slowed that I ended up overtaking him, which was, which was weird.
And then he ended up overtaking me again doing like 200,000 households, like, was a good luck to you, man.
Yeah, so, but it was good that car drives really, really well on the freeway, you know, was a very hot day in a very hot when I was at 43 degrees when I was there and aircon Blasting, and it was like, like nothing for that car.
So I brought it home, give it a clean, parked it and yeah, gave it a good run at the that it needed to have.
So put about almost 2000 case on it.
For that trip. I was driving in Essen fields
and saw as an afford had. I think I've told Aidan and
resist that they had to Fiesta is taser.
So I want to have a look in speaking to the geysers like all these are demos and I'm like, but why you can't buy them anymore? Why they demos?
So it would say that they're probably just put on register, probably has registered just to just to make like, you know, some sort of deal with Ford or something.
But I was just like, okay. That's fair enough and I just
drove off and I was like this is the weirdest thing I've ever had in my life, so there's that. But the only difference between
that one in mind, one was the being an o sound system which obviously they had in mind. Doesn't otherwise it is exactly
the same car so I'm not really complaining too much at all they built before yours after yours after mine after.
So what the being o got? Put back in got put back in
your. So there was a mistake on the on
the order books for schools. Yeah.
So now I got the how much with the demos I was too scared to ask to be honestly so I'm assuming I'd be a lot more money because that's what they do. But anyway, so I just I just
drove off and I was like okay that's fine.
So that was that and yeah I think that's virtually it.
On my updates, I'm getting nothing else to say.
So we can move on to our topic for tonight, which is Cars that can go on to a club permit this year, which are turning 25 years old. So, it's interesting because
this is it's an, it's an interesting.
How resistant one, sorry I fear. So that's that's currently 40
Grand, but it's interesting that now it's you're thinking about cars that I grew up with are like, 25 years old that you like I remember when they came out it's a weird feeling and I know, I know some of the more senior gentlemen on this on this show, Will, it will be like, well, we had that feeling for a long time but it's actually really hitting me now, because I'm just like, you know, I'm in my early 30s and I've just seen that some cars that I remember when they were brand-new coming off the lot. And now I'm 25 years old and
it's quite quite terrifying. So I thought I'd start off with
one with. Yeah, pretty much.
I thought I'd start off with one that I thought was quite interesting. That a lot of people now will
prove We got by and they'll even keep going up in more in price.
Is a GU Patrol, gu patrols are officially 25 years old this year which I find hard to believe.
I couldn't believe how long the the gqueues went for like that, they finished in 97 and then these when treatment from 97.
So I found that pretty, pretty crazy.
I don't know if you guys, if you guys knew that they were turning 25 but they are officially 25 years old this year.
What about you guys? What have you got on your lists?
What do What to keep an eye on. I've got a few.
I've got a few that I know attorney 25 this year.
What do you see as your 25 year? Old picks, the gc8, Subaru, WRX,
mmm, so that's 1998. That one's on their those, for
you. My number one pick up.
I think they're just going to keep going up in value.
Specially these. The STI ones, the 22 bees came
out even 98 to I think, didn't they?
999. I think I think is 98.
Is it a needed? Another reason to go off go go
up when the in a is got to 25 years old that they really spiked you know because people thought oh here we go.
Little convertible. 25 years old Club, plates Ripper 98 mr.
Prince has the easier 98. Okay.
Volunteers 22v. Yep.
Same for our listeners that are out there.
I've got one one more year. I will 2020.
Great. This is that's 25 years from
now, ye 498 the, it always makes me laugh actually, when you see some incredibly, you know, the old Ferraris and stuff like that, and Lamborghinis that are actually on the table, it's because they're getting their, you know, their Church, their cheek, bring Joe their Club reach out, it's not register it people uses. It's a permit to drive a
vehicle, but it stating that because with, you know, five, six, seven, eight hundred thousand dollars.
But, no, no, we're going to go with the club.
Permit registration because of course some twenty thousand eighty dollars a year to serve as the damn thing.
You got to say those dollars where you can bet you there.
I think the m, the m version of the Z3.
Yeah, is also another one that will be eligible. 1998 is the
years that right? Yeah, you look 1998 car sometime
will be 25 years old this year. Yeah, 97.
But you're going to see the. We are a lot more solving 98 so
they'll be a lot more. Monday nights on the road home,
coming up. I've put light 97's on my list,
as well, for this because like a lot of people, you know, would have that. So I think that's, I think
that's fair. But yeah, they first debuted in
98. I didn't know.
Well, not so 97. I'm surprised like 97.
Yeah, so the first gen will be eligible.
The E39 M5 will be able to clot light weight, 2005 series or M5.
William 5, the E39 5-series came out 90 or what it was fun.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. 56 somewhere there.
Yes. So they've been on for me.
Yeah, no, the M36 and three. When is that coming out?
They were early. There were early 90s.
A36 m390 for I think and I kept going all the way up.
Yeah I think so pretty big run. They did.
He's not for Ed first gen SLK there I think.
Yeah I think they'll 897 onwards.
There's the and there she really cool car.
Your mother used to you're saying it but there were new they were a hundred thousand dollars no matter what have they were coming here. And yeah I've always wanted one
of those Now we'll have one one day, one day one of fall in my lap but I write them you know there I think there are good looking car that the folding hardtop was quite amazing for it to time. There's been a very nice low K12
Salem Mornington for quite a while actually in that country with the name of the color of it's a real sort of peacocks little blue week rink fella Looks fantastic, my another history. A lot of them were silver which
I just find it, utterly boring. I prefer that, I mean, red
magma, red white, linen, right? Bring magma and the quite good
buying actually like the 12 Grand.
Gets you into a really nice one. You know, there's there's one
who I'm like, well, they were sort of eight, nine, ten.
And now really it's a good one is 15 18, 20 and a real of mileage on is still in the 20s, which is Crazy.
But but yeah, 10 grand used to get you a really nice little little car. You know, I really like I've
always got a soft spot for them, especially cuz you could get them as a manual as well, but they went nice is Emmanuel other better as an order. That that is what I've heard.
So have you driven a menu? One of those I have years ago in
a 200? I think it was it's okay 200.
Not the to 30 30 compressor think the to telling compresses the one you want just a bit more grunt.
Yeah, I was impressed with that car was it was crazier than an MX-5, you know, and it like literally it had cruise control and just a more compliant ride and MX-5 is more fun and sporty but the SLK was this nice in between you could easily Roost around in that and not be too stressed.
Yeah, you know I think I think that's a I think that's a great.
Yeah that should be my resolution by first gen.
SLK this year. Here we go.
So in bees Become eligible. Now to they came out in 98.
I think today. It was 98.
You're right. You're right.
Yeah. Well they'll be a lot of those
ticking over onto complaint. Yeah.
And the price of those will go go up correspondingly.
Yeah. 996 911. Yes.
Yeah. After 9/11 in a box the to make
it look like late. 97 99? Yeah.
Both We got them in 97 but they, I think they were released in 96. Yeah.
You would be prepared to see some of those on some Club players, which is, which is a scary proposition itself.
We should point out that the Victorious, It's still 25 years in Victoria whereas a lot of every other state for their special, special interest, cars is 30 years.
So we are lucky in that regard. I think that five years makes a
big difference. I think they'll be a lot of cars
that don't make it through the next five years in other states, and to end up on Club plates, which will be a real shame because So we some lovely cars that are deemed economical to repair or restore us suppose here, which is kind of really sad to be honest with you because I think it's that it's that age where they like they're at their 21, 22 years old, and then people just be like. Yeah.
So which is which is sad, which is now come on Maddie, which Falcon come out in 98. I was gonna say the one and only
legendary car that was it. We mention it at the start of
every podcast, really Ross, can you tell the people put them out of their misery? It's the Australian now and a
you Falcon this vehicle is has literally been the inspiration for so many car designers into the future who have leveraged on. It's amazing Aesthetics and
design language to produce vehicles that far exceed the performance. Performance.
The a you Falcon offered but inherently have the design language that was so far ahead of its time.
Well, we said, this has been as a car recently.
That's kind of that. We said that looks like an eye.
You Falcon rocket. It was that it was the 2024,
high-end ionic 6. Yes, it's, that's this right
here was 26 years. It's time when it came to
designs. The thing you have to understand
boys about fashion is that fashion comes and goes and then it has habit of coming back again and and and that's that's what's so amazing about this car.
It was known internally at Ford as project Eagle If Only They knew that the ego would fly from broadmeadows all the way to Seoul South Korea. Take it 26 years to get there.
Then you know I'm saying like this this is the legit.
This is Australian vehicle design at its best.
I'll tell you what though you know it's you got to think it's kind of a trance that I like I people like all do you do today you Falcon bit mate. It came out before the COS it
came up before the CLA. So and it kept its, it has come
up before this ionic seeks. It is an utter trendsetter This
is why you buy Automotive extravagance in the form of a you Falcon. Ladies and gentlemen, you've
heard it here first. It's the only business sitting
on you IU Forte with the waterfall Grille on the plastic hubcaps just don't, don't, don't go anywhere.
You just keep that 11 car. That I've Really underrated.
I had a 1997 Toyota Starlet life Edition in pink, Advanced age nice and it was eighteen hundred dollars at that time.
And I don't even get it under for 34 grand these days but they had a turbo Edition. So you know life Edition was if
you wanted to know what life was all about.
A slightly faster I used to say, I drive life.
When I One of those. Yeah I used to say you haven't
lived yet unless you've driven a life Edition.
Yeah. Now 1997 Toyota Starlet.
Glanza V turbo. They were imported into
Australia in limited numbers. They were it's good money and
they are worth really, really good money.
I would like to see a couple in person but I think they just Extremely rare. But yeah, seeing one of them
would be cool and they are going up in value for you as well.
Because I bloody crushed, all the style, it's a little, the good ones out like, no, I that were owned by fortunately, not many of them had airbags. Are they weren't that many that
got quell. Their was safer than the ones
with Takata airbags life models. That didn't have an airbag at
all, but, but your old needs to neighbor Mavis with her with her. Life's little blue.
One to you. It's gone.
Little safety pack optional safety pack, which is very safe.
That's right. Hey, the manly maybe is two
airbags that. Yep.
Is now in the the big garage in the sky and unfortunately, this is just shared one today. They were cracking little car.
I've always, I've always liked those but you know what?
I've also over also likes which are which are late. 97 onwards
Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution. They came out in 97 and they
went to about 99. I think And they are eligible
for a club permit. So if you like a bit of a bit of
fun, that's that's that's your ticket.
Your Seymour VTS common rules say yeah he's out there with the Alice one. There's one that's been sitting
out near our place for about three years.
Hasn't moved an SS. Make him an offer Scotty for
Scott. Do you even homes are I don't
see anyone anywhere near it. Just sits there in the parking
spot. It hasn't moved or anything or
touch for three years. I want to check the number plate
on it. Actually I haven't done that
yet. Just to see if it is registered
or not of the number place to just sitting on it little bit of stalking. Yeah, will be interesting but
it's significant a good three years.
Just it's been one. Guy knows just how long we've
been here for. I don't know if it's me said no
no longer but let's go. So here here's some money.
I'll give you 50 bucks. I'll take that, that, that I saw
off the front of you, if the front of your yard and it's a crappy SS, I'll take it. It's just, it's just a crappy.
It means nothing. SS means super slow.
It doesn't mean anything else. No one wants Alex ones.
They're rubbish. With knows the people that live
in this spot to park around there so where else you can't see it from main roads or anything like that.
So, okay, in terms of what about the laws or I mean the fifth generation Prelude but okay, that that started in 96, but I think we got them in 97 at the Star Wars.
Dash one. No, no, that was, It's the
final. The final product.
They're going on with a big hit. The big headlight one.
PCI PCI. Ah, that's the one.
I think they've been a few. We've got a few of those already
filtered through on Plum plates, in the club.
Yeah, but we're getting perilously close now.
To I don't Sue S2000 through another year I think can not only nine. They came out.
I'm pretty sure Jesus that gone up in price.
Mmm. Yep.
That is actually ridiculous how how expensive they are.
Like, they're great cop. They're more than what they were
new. So which is because I thought
that was. So that was 70 grand.
Right? David.
Oh no, that's reasonable. Yes.
Yes. I hear 70 something?
Yep. Yeah.
So and they're pushing that and plus more now.
So awkward with the laughs:. Yeah.
They're not either. So you can get your t's and 25
He's if you like not Judy as yet they came out next year.
Hmm. So we'll see a lot of 4 door
automatic non turbos. Yeah that is something like 30
40 Grand, it's time. I made this is, it's crazy
people. If I could only really see
skylines around anymore, you know, I saw a really clapped for do on the other day and I'm like, I haven't seen one of these in forever. Like, I don't know where they've
all gone. It's to be like nine grand.
Yeah, to do those cheaper than that, no matter what surface Like a 6th grade and he couldn't sell it.
So guy from a guy from South Australia came on board at a broke down, half way. Well, I felt bad for the pool is
also there with coverage cars, people, who drive them, doesn't matter what it is. That is correct.
Yeah, I remember I was saying that, what the hell?
I sort of veal turbo, like full dosing passing with, like a red P plate on the. I was like, what?
And then this is a few years ago.
And then, I was, I've done, I did my did bit of bit of research inside, I think they can, they can, they're allowed to drive them. So what about a WRX is Whitney.
First come in. Yo will say nothing. 94, 94 like
a that earlier. Yeah I kind of was the first of
them here. You could peek we're getting you
to the peak WRX time. No material EG season TVs and
stuff. Yeah, still cracking cars today.
If you can get your hands on one day 43 AMG s.
Yeah. That there are 98.
I think you'll still come at 98, 98 99 and then maybe early 2004 finish Get off. Well good.
Maybe it was just two years for the c43.
Yeah, cool. Cool rare car.
Now these days actually like did I really see them?
So yeah. There there are branded 50 Mark
now. Yeah yep.
You see class by my earliest year, first grade, your feelings Journal Fairlane. Or are you failing?
As they as they like a butter? I think, I think I won't be
having one of those land. Barges, a friend.
Yeah, you could have a cookie. You can always now get your
Mercedes, CLK GTR. They commit in 1998, so you
could put those on. Oh yeah, I think you're right.
But yeah, if you got a couple million dollars, you can go buy one of the one of the co K GD. Ours.
Well it does it'll mess you isn't it.
You know you gotta save you do last weekend, that's true.
It's true guys ever come across a loophole with classic registration where if there's a car, that's a replica classic car that you can actually get it on clutch plates.
Well, there's like a song when I was when I was going through this like a 98 Shelby Cobra, okay?
And that's still not yet. So technically I guess that can
cause it was made then it can technically put on.
I'm assuming that's how that would work when David P.
Probably the got to know with with, with, with that sort of without they select replicas and kit cars and things.
Yeah, look, I haven't I haven't had managed any experience with those. We don't haven't had any of
those come through our club, sort of things.
So I'd have to I would have to defer to Big roads about that.
But you know I have I have heard that if it's if it is actually manufactured in a certain year, one of our members actually Scott to a replica that these now he's had for 25 years, but it's ever been finished. Also be interesting to see how
that goes when, when it comes time to exclude plates on that.
Like I'm not sure where how that'll be.
I might suggest it goes from the club.
Yeah, this is it gets too high. It does.
Yeah, it was a bit of a mind screwing like, what do I do here? Yeah, it's can't say too much.
But if you happen to bring it in a very expensive car from overseas, that hasn't been registered in Australia who goes straight up plates, you don't pay stingy.
That's cool. Sana, Sana sex, anybody, I'll
tell what we call during sex. That's a little that's all do
that. Oh yeah, I get a for Monday's,
you get over. Tuesday's you At a point of this
gentleman, is there any other ones before we move on to the quiz? In case the biggest case, it
made out of all 9595? Yeah.
Yeah, 96 96. Not forget, I said anything.
If you squeeze in some of the guys, Rizzo's, got to go.
Thanks to come on. Raise your Ausmus will see you
soon, thanks. Own my own dance.
Have a good quiz and may the best man win.
Thanks man, actually soon. Dear is Ivy's.
Well, it's interesting for those cars, if you wanted to get into the club space, they produce some good ones, you can start with because prices are those are still relatively affordable so I think you can still get into the into those GTRs and yeah, correct aside. So it is the car quiz.
Now, I've made two quizzes. Obviously we didn't finish the
one from The last, the last episode.
So I was thinking we could do the 20 Questions, question quiz.
We can we can combine them together to make a quid, make a quiz to, to start the year. I think, if you guys had became,
we can do the moon like that to see who can come on top.
It's technically, it will. Technically be anybody's game
right till the end. I'm assuming, but as wanted to
say, I don't know if you guys heard the news, but I can block passed away today. It's not about that very sad,
the guy that does all the gym, Connors and stand things online.
So, Very, very sad. So we give our condolences to
his family and friends and everybody in the the hoonigan Universe. I rest in peace, another one
Gone Too Soon while I can walk, let's get into the quiz show.
You're on not just ask is actually said that is a ballet, was it Veil? Well, it's valet Somali La.
I've never heard that. Said, out loud, I've always
thought it was Veil Wow, Mega. It's about likes different every
day. I want something very good
question. One of the make a quiz to start
the what is the bizarre reason why VW specifically used one 95/65 AR-15s on many of their cars.
Only 565 aims and many of their cars bizarre reason.
Yep 195 6550 M if teens on the majority of their cars until And we actually doing really good first question, many, it's begun already with crickets. Well, because you said bizarre.
So I'm trying to think, Hmm, outside the box and not just something. What is it?
David don't, I'll give you point five because I'll give you a point five. David, I don't know.
It's a long shot but I'll give you 25 cost savings is one of the reasons but there's a few that there's a few things like that. Combine to it.
So cost savings is is one. But someone could give me the
other part to it. I can give it to you.
Holly Holly fuel consumption or incorrect, with few with fuel consumption, but good. Guess scar got, has it got
something to do with? They had a deal with the Thai
