And last year Meekum's total sales at the Kissimmee auction
were $215 million this year.
And obviously there were some big hitters this year,
but it was double.
It was $420 million,
assuming everyone's gonna pay their bills.
But yeah, I mean, a wonderful year for me.

Right, but generally looking at these stats,
they're comparing Arizona car week and Meekum,
and everyone is up year on year,
which is good news, I guess,
for the automotive used car markets.
I mean, that's what they always wanna see.
I mean, if you can double your profits, you're doing okay.
Someone's getting a bonus this year.
Right, yeah.
But good news, good news.

You know, I think one person showed up last week
because it was like one degree.

but it was at the week before
we had a pretty good turnout at my place,

So lesson learned, if you're gonna have a car gathering,

And so what was it like hosting your own cars and coffee?
Like obviously it's a group that you know, but no.
Yeah, yeah, it was supposed to just be our group,
and then I think the word got out,
and there were quite a few people who showed up,
but it was great.
Everyone was behaved, no one peeled out.
We tore through dozens of donuts.
The neighbors came out, it was great.
It was fun.

It was exactly what it should have been.
And yeah, very fortunate to have such a nice group of friends
and acquaintances and neighbors and stuff, you know?
It was kind of a throwback cars and coffee.
It felt organic, and it felt, you know,
I mean, it was lo-fi in the very best way,
which was cool.

it looked so good sitting next to my GT4.
Of course, when he went to start it up,
the thing let out the biggest backfire ever heard.
And I see people sort of duck and, you know,
big puff of smoke, like cartoonish puff of smoke.
And of course, he swears it had never happened before,
but it was kind of a nice punctuation to the day.
So, Ron, thanks for, let me pretend
that car was mine for a morning.
If you do a little like field of dreams,
like if you park it in the garage,
eventually you'll have one.

I thought about just closing the door, you know?

with the Colorado Grand, you know,
they've really grown on me.
And, you know, I realize a lot of these cars,
they don't fit so well in, right?
But the 356, I fit in just fine.
And, you know, it's familiar.
And they're just, you know, they don't break down
like some of the other cars do.
They're really reliable relative to some of the other stuff.
And they're just, they're timeless, you know?
I wish I would have kind of gotten into them 10 years ago.
But, you know, buy high, sell low, right?
Yep.
Even boxers are expensive these days.
Like the original boxers are going up in value.
I feel like it's right on the cusp of,
you could still find one now,
but that's not going to be true for much longer.
I think people are starting to,
because it's more, I think, of the Porsches,
those are currently still more, a bit more accessible.
But that may not be the case much longer.
I was reading that the Pacific Northwest is getting,
I guess, don't throw away, putting it,
is getting a lot less rainfall than normal.
Is that right?
Yeah, it's been, I think,
and I think that's been true the last couple of years,
like maybe the last four years,
there has been an unusual period of sunshine
and clear skies in January, which we never used to have,
but it does allow you to get your fun cars out
if you thought they were put away for the whole winter.
So we took the GT4 out last weekend, I think, and...
Speaking of waking up the neighborhood, right?

So that's been kind of fun just exploring,
and, you know, because I know the road's up here
a little better than Tori does,
so it's been fun kind of showing him a few of them,
but really a lot of my just kind of, like,
cruise driving has been in California.
So, yeah, it was fun to sort of just get out and go
and, you know, just cruise and get reacquainted
and remember just how good the car is,
because, man, you know, I don't care what's going on,
a few seconds behind the wheel,
and all is right with the world.
Such a good car.

And I misread your notes, Lindsay,
because you went to the advanced meter of the racetrack,
and I thought you said that there was an electric mix of cars,
and it was eclectic mix of cars.
I was like, that sounds like a shit car show.
You're like, I'm so glad you went and I didn't.
Yeah.
That's really funny.
I mean, it felt electric.
It was crazy, and because of the weather being so good,
they had kind of an impromptu cars and coffee
down at Pacific Raceways in Kent,
where the performance driving school is.
And we got there, like we were maybe a half hour after it started,
but, you know, it's kind of open house,
and there were probably 150 cars there.
Like, I've never seen that many cars there at one time.
It was like going to the Willow Springs Reimagined
and seeing the number of cars there and just going like,
there's more cars here than there have been in 10 years.
Like, I've never seen that many cars at Pacific at once.
Almost the whole paddock was full, which was so much fun.
And it was, they were all over the map.
Like, I was just looking at my pictures.
You know, there was a, one of the most recent generations,
GT350 Mustangs, blue with white stripes, which is what I had.
So that's always a treat to see.
And they had, you know, there was the kitchens
who run the school.
They now have a Pro 3 E30 race car.
So that was there.
I hadn't seen it in person.
That was fun.
Obviously, a lot of Porsches.
There were two of the Blackwing sedan Cadillacs,
which is like one of that launch glued.
I could have dig those.
Which is so cool.
Yeah, I'd really love color.
Well, and they're such a sleeper,
if you don't know what they are,
and then you hear them and you're like,
wait a minute, like what's going on there?
And there was this gorgeous Audi,
like midnight purple wagon, which was really cool.
Several E30 M3s, several E36 M3s.
A few of the most current M3 generation,
like in really unique colors.
One was this like brilliant metallic teal.
And then there was a rust colored one.
And what was really cool is,
then there was an E36 rust colored one,
and you could see them.
So it was like, you know,
seeing the progression in real life.
Well, Lindsay, most importantly,
were there any E39 M5 owners?
That were out for blood.
There were not.
Yeah, right.
I had more than a couple people reach out.
If you haven't heard the last episode,
we did a bit on cars that,
worst cars we've ever driven,
which is strong language.
But you were really underwhelmed with the E39 M5.
And it wasn't a car I thought
was going to be brought up in that segment.
But no, the consensus seems to be
that the good cars are really good
and the cars that aren't aren't.
And oh, interesting.
But they are a loyal, a loyal bunch.
They are.
I figured that would generate some engagement one way or the other.
Yeah.
I know.
Well, and it's so funny because I dropped off
the M3 for service today.
And as I pulled up to the shop,
there was an E39 five series in this gorgeous,
you know, ice blue.
And as soon as I rounded the corner and saw it,
I went, oh, and then I was laughing at myself
because I remembered what we talked about last week.
I mean, I really do love them.
So, you know, okay, Lindsay.
Yeah, right.
And then there was a typhoon at the Avans.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Black typhoon.
There was a beautiful kind of mustard yellow
912.
There was a 1978 Cadillac in this,
like, you know, the butter yellow kind of of that era.
That was really cool.
There was a one of the new Alpha Julia Quadrifoglio
in that brilliant emerald green that they have.
Yeah.
So this was eclectic.
It was it was a really fun mix.
It was like a true, you know, what you when you go to a cars
and coffee that isn't themed and you're just,
it was like mixed nuts.
It was so much fun because every row
was this really random mix.
It was modern vintage, you know, high performance regular
all over the map.
So definitely worth going.
And, you know, it's always fun to get to see the
performance crew too.
So we got to catch up with them and see the dogs and it's all good.

We made the list of the weather.
I was on a mission last weekend to report back on Scottsdale car week.
Tell us all about it.
I made it out alive, which is a good thing.
It's huge this year.
It was huge from everything from car sales to everyone was down there.
And yeah, it was a good week, a really good week.
And it started at Radford Race School.
So this was formerly the Bondurant School of Racing.
Yeah, right.
And yeah.
So we went to we went there and they've obviously got the Dodge Hellcats.
And at that point, I didn't have a car to drive.
I was being chauffeured around in a VW Atlas.
And I was going to get a Hellcat for the week.
They were going to give me a Hellcat.
But then Mark at Radford said, Hey, do you want to try this instead?
And he gave me the keys to a lucid gravity.
That is what an amazing surprise.
Right.
And not being a big electric car person like, you know, I was like,
do I want the keys to this or give me the Hellcat?
But we decided that the gravity was going to be a better car for the purposes of the week
in terms of hosting science and, you know, doing a lot of driving.
And yeah, it was it was quick.
It was it's probably the quickest car I've ever driven, which is saying something.
And it was like, what's the right way of putting it?
It's like seductively quick in terms of like, you want more,
you just lulls you into it.
Yeah.
I mean, lots of people.
It's a siren song.
Then you add the actual siren song behind you and then you're screwed.
Yeah, that's in all the ways.
A lot of people were saying, oh, is that a people carrier or weak?
So I think it has a split identity.
The thing is like, when you want to drive it quickly, you want it in the lowest setting.
So it doesn't actually look, it looks more like a wagon or a, you know,
a people carrier than it does.
But that's because you're driving it low.
So is it so you can raise and lower the ride height?
Yeah, yeah, big time.
Yeah, there's like five or six settings.
I didn't realize that.
I think it was a pre-production car.
So I hope it was a pre-production car because some of the technology was a bit amiss.
But I really loved, we went to Sedona for the day.
And I took it on a very spirited drive back through the mountains.
We went to various locations that, you know, that had twisties.
And even one set of roads that we had that were twisties were one lane as in,
there was a separate road to the left that was going up the hill.
And we were going down the hill.
Split highway.
Yeah, split highway.
And the Regen, you have settings on the Regen.
And like, I haven't had many electric cars.
And they were a purveyor of an electric car.
But the Regen on it, obviously it doesn't work when your battery is fully charged
because it's got nothing to Regen into.
But it was, you could set it to hard, which was fantastic because it really helped
breaking into the corners apart from the time where I went all in into a corner and it failed.
And luckily, I managed to get it out of the corner on the other side.
But I don't know if that is a, you know, maybe it needs to come with a warning
saying if you go into a corner quicker than 100 miles an hour, it's not going to work.
Justin, they're like, could we have a word?
Minor heads up.
Brakes must work okay though.
The brakes, I think Jesus was my copilot into that corner.
Yeah, it's got Regen braking and the power of the Messiah.
Because, you know, put it out the other side.
That's the official term.
Yeah, it was a code brown moment for sure.
Well, that wasn't any time it failed on me, but I loved the Regen.
It gave me confidence in performance driving.
But it's the heaviest car I think I've ever driven as well.
And did you feel the weight when you were driving it?
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, they've done a good job of trying to reduce that, but it is a, it's like,
it's probably one of the heaviest cars on the market.
Yeah, but on the freeway, like you would just put your foot on the accelerator
and like you were doing 110 allegedly before you knew it.
Yeah, it was very quick.
Because Lindsay and I have driven this car, but only in the confines
of downtown LA during the auto show, right?
Right, I think you drove the air, didn't you?
We drove the air, all three of us drove the air a year ago,
and then this year we got to drive the gravity.
So I was really excited when you said you had one for this extended length of time.
Well, and so, Ryan, did you, what did you think about it?
Because when we drove the air in 2024, I loved it instantly.
It was one of the few cars that I just went like, absolutely yes, all of it, I'll take it.
The gravity, I didn't have that sort of gut response to.
Yeah, I thought the gravity seemed a little more buttoned up, a little, you know,
just better put together, I guess, you know, because when we drove that air,
it was, I think, a pretty early one.
I don't think we had full power in either of these, you know, these cars,
and we drove them unlike you.
So didn't really get a sense of the power in quite the same way.
But they're neat because they're unlike anything else, right?
They just, they have a vibe that's just different.
And, you know, they're cool.
I really thought they were very comfortable.
I like the fit and finish, the quality, the materials.
But, you know, it's, it's hard out there, you know, for a small electric car company.
And so I don't know, you know, what the future holds, but I'd love to see them succeed
because I think they've got a really compelling product, you know.
And I think maybe I'd like the air.
I think maybe I'd like the sedan better in a way, not quite sure.
I'd have to drive them both again, Lucid, and do a back-to-back.
And this time give us the full bore, you know, versions, please.
So I don't know what settings, but the settings on the new one is calm.
And calm is like eco mode.
And I think that's a riff on Tesla because Tesla have a similar phrase.
Yeah.
Next one, which really is probably why I love the car.

how many, what was the max number of people that you had in it during the week?
When you were fairing people around?
I had four people in it at one point.
They all agreed that when you really put your foot down, everyone feels nauseous in the car.
But they did love the heated seats in the back.
But yeah, at one point there was four of us in it.
And there was an extra row, so there's three rows.
Yeah.
But you don't get much luggage space with the three rows.
So obviously you put the third row down if you want the luggage space.
But yeah, I want to spend more time in one and hopefully with the technology working,
like I couldn't get carplay to work.
And so I had to separately match Spotify.
So there was a separate app for Spotify and you do a QR code.
So, but yeah, I loved it.
You know, for an electric car, and I had all sorts of problems with Tesla,
and we'll maybe come on to Tesla in a minute, but yeah, at the end of my spirited drive,
I ended up with 30 miles left and managed to navigate to a Tesla hyperchargers.
And this is like probably six in the evening, and I'm about an hour and a half away from Phoenix.
So anyway, I go to plug in nothing, I then download the app.
And if you've used the Tesla app, you download the app and then it emails you a code
and you put the code in.
But the problem was there was such a delay.
Every time I would make a request, go to the email.
By the time the email came in, the page had expired.
Yeah, the air was quite blue with insults towards Mr. Musk at that point.
But eventually I then got it working.
And then for some reason, that Tesla charger wasn't on the charging app.
And the nearest supercharges were 30 miles away.
And I had 30 miles left in the tank, or the tank, I guess, the battery.
So yeah, it was very, it was a very, it was like, I think I may have claimed,
I'm never going to drive another electric car again at one point.
Clearly I did the next day.
But yeah, so the charging network was still very frustrating.
Threats were made and not chemistry, that's right.
Yeah, but I know you guys saw some news around Tesla.
So I don't know if you want to share that now.
Yes, I just read that Tesla will be discontinuing the Model S and the Model X
in favor of transitioning that factory over to build the Optimus robots.
So before long, the robots will run amok at Tesla.
Did they transform from the, from the semi truck into the,
right, that was Optimus Prime.
Optimus Prime and the Transformers.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, that might be more like, I feel like they might have better luck selling the robots
if they did transform into a semi truck because Elon is saying that they are giving the Model
S and Model X an honorable discharge as they transition over to, because he says we're all
moving towards autonomy, whether that's accurate or not.
And he's anticipating building a million robots, I think a year and selling them.
I mean, I guess I'm more, I'm also interested in like who are,
who's the target audience for these robots too?

So after getting the Adrenaline Fix at Radford Race School, and if you've not been,
I would highly recommend it.
Those guys are, you know, ahead of their craft when it comes to teaching safety,
specifically driving.
We went to the owner of Radford's house for the evening.
And this is one of the highest demand tickets in the week.
It's pretty hard to get an invite to that to that event.
And I walked in.
Who do I see there?
Smiling, giving me a big hug.
Friend of the show, Jorge Aquino.
He has clearly made it in the Arizona car community.
Because he got an invite to have his ticket in town.
He was in good form.
And he was kind enough to introduce me to all his friends.
It kind of felt like a personal concierge service.
And every time I turned around, there was another guest that he said,
hey, you guys should meet.
So it was a wonderful evening.
Got to hang out with Justin Bell as well.
Yeah.
And the folks from events.
So Adam and Nicky, who's the director there.
And yeah, Justin.
Yeah, it was a good evening and a good way to start.
They actually reunited Justin Bell with he won Le Mans in a Dodge Viper.
And as part of that, he kind of got to buy a Dodge Viper stroke.

And that car was there.
So he got reunited with that car, which is pretty cool.

So that was in a Harrods McLaren.
And yeah, they ended up leading the race for many, many laps.

He's got some great stories about like, you know, when you do the people transfer,
Le Mans, when you swap drivers, apparently he just pulled his dad out.
And his dad went rolling down the pit lane.
Like the adrenaline was so much that he just like dragged him out.
And this is obviously Derek Bell, who is one of the most important people in motorsports.
He's got a few accomplishments to his name.
He's been around a little bit.

That was day one in the can.
Good way to start the week.
Day two, we went to private collections.
And the first private collection I went to, you know, this gentleman had all sorts of Lamborghinis,
all sorts of black series Mercedes, but the most impressive achievement of all his cars
is he invited us all into his living area.
And you walk through the front door and what is facing straight ahead of you
is a DeLorean.
And then you look at the math of the door width and everything else,
and he tells this story that he bought the car, but only on the condition that the person
selling the car could get the car into the house.
And the car does not fit through the front door.
So the car actually got craned over the house and then moved in from the back.
So, you know, you know, you've made it when you can buy a DeLorean and have it craned into your house.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How many robots?
Yeah.
I mean, it'd have been much easier, wouldn't it,
if Optimus and his friends had come along and moved it.
But yeah, so that was an accomplishment.
You know, you've made it when you've got a DeLorean in your front living room.
And maybe that's the right place for a DeLorean.
Yeah, I was thinking that because for the most part, we all say we like to see cars driven
and it's tough to see cars that are just tucked away, but that might actually be the perfect
situation for a DeLorean.
Just given their, you know, especially with the age that they are,
because it's still being celebrated and enjoyed in a way that makes sense for that car.

And then we came back.
And then that evening I ended up going to the auto club.
You guys can go to the auto club.
So this is a car storage and kind of, you know, a membership club.
They hosted a specific party for car week.
Everything was done really nicely in terms of like red drapes all the way around.
And then through the drapes were roof cars mainly pushing through.
So you could only see like two quarters of the car, which is quite nicely done.
They had folks on like high wires.
So it was almost like a Cirque du Soleil meets roof.
Don't fall on the roof.

And in the corner, there was also a Zinger.
And I caught up with a guy called Cooper from Zinger.
So shout out to him.
He does all that social media and he's a good guy.
He's a skilled photographer too.
He has worked with Hagerty and brought Arrow to do a lot of their photography as well.

And then that was Thursday.
Friday was Barrett Jackson.
And I guess firstly, thank you to Barrett Jackson for the hospitality
because they were very kind enough to give us hospitality.
We weren't in the Craig Jackson suite, but we were next to it.
So it was pretty good.
You were Craig adjacent, which is just as nice.
Yeah.
What an eye opener of an auction.
So I'm used to RM and Bonham's and maybe Gooding's.
This isn't that.
This is a massive auditorium and they are playing a volume game.
So what I mean by that is literally the cars roll on one side of the stage,
go across the stage, then go up for auction.
And they're in two positions during the auction.
The first position is the middle of the stage.
And then the second position is slightly on the down ramp.
But I would say that each car was selling or not selling within like a two minute window.
So it's like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, car, car, car, car.
And it was a lot of American.
I was there on the Friday and the further on the last day is the Saturday.
And the nicest cars get sold on the Saturday.
So I didn't see the nicest car.
But it was also a really interesting mix of people.
I think the car park was mainly full of trucks.
So not necessarily your people, Lindsay, but it was it was full of trucks.
The side halls had everything from watches to, you know, book yourself on a bison hunt.
So that might give you an idea of some of the some of the guests.
But yeah, I feel like that, like, is that is there a lot of overlap in that Venn diagram
is like if you're going to Barrett Jackson, you might buy a car or also go on a bison hunt.
She bison, I think also cigars is another big thing.
So there were lots of areas outside where people smoke cigars.

That was the kind of theme of the day.

There was one, I watched it briefly, like I think mid-week, and there was a 90s Cadillac sedan,

And it was such a through act.

Had the, you know, vinyl roof, I think, or the cloth roof.
I don't know if you remember those.
And it was, there was a lot of 90s cars in that segment, but that was such a throwback to,
you know, I remember seeing those in high school.
Man, I haven't seen Brellum on the side of a car in a long time.
It was, I kind of wish I'd gone on the Saturday now because my friends that did go
bumped into the actor that played Officer Frank Ponturello from the movie series.
I saw that, I saw that, you know.
Yeah, that was, he's hero status in my head.

I was always a Camp John Baker, to be honest.

But for a while, they were using this term called mid.
And, you know, so it's kind of like,

the dad bod or the mom jeans of cars, right?
Like the most mid car, right?
So what is the most mid car?
Just like, not a bad car,
but just like kind of the most average of cars.
Like if you asked a kid to drive, to draw a car,
you know, what would that car be?
You know, and so, I mean,
I would say they're unremarkable.

I think you probably have a pretty good sense of the word.
So what'd you go with?
So at first I kept thinking, because there was, at one point,
I had a Cayman and it was in the shop for a week,
but they kept telling me it was ready.
And the way the setup, you'd get a rental car,
and then you had to walk over to the shop to pick up the car.
And so you'd throw the rental car key through the slot,
and then I'd go to pick up the car,
and they'd say, just kidding, it's not ready.
So you'd get a different rental car.
And that happened, I think twice.
And finally, I was like, I'm going to hang onto these keys.
Until I find out that the car's actually ready.
And so that was a week of multiple mid cars,
but it was long enough ago that I couldn't remember them.
But I definitely, I had a sense memory when you said, Ryan,
what is a mid car that's available?
I went, whatever those three were, absolutely fit the bill.
But also, we've talked before about unremarkable rental cars.
A lot of them fit the bill.
But what I landed on, and I decided to go,
I decided to include a gas car, a hybrid, and an electric.
There are used and new options.
And I would say, just generally unremarkable,
but nothing wrong with them, and they get the job done.
So the three that I chose are the Tesla Model 3,
because they are, we're just overrun with them here.
And so it's like, I'm kind of glazed over at this point on them.
Same thing with a Toyota Prius.
Yeah.
You know, they're used in, I know, a lot of people.
Old-shape though, right?
I had the Toyota Prius, old-shape.
Yeah, the old-shape.
Not when you want to buy cool.
No, the old-shape.
It doesn't drive cool though, that's the only problem.

And Ford Fusion.
Like, oh, that's a good one.

And I'm going to tell you right now, there's one car we all have.
That was, it was funny when I was choosing.
I was like, I have a feeling we're all going to,
there's going to be one that we have all chosen.

There's a reason mothers-in-law buy them and drive them.

Back up into me in parking lots, but the third one is a car much like,
much like, you know, we talked about the worst cars we've ever driven.
And the Chevy Malibu came up for me.

in the tooth.
It's a car that had to make sure it was still being sold.

sitting in the left lane, it's the Chrysler Pacifica slash Voyager.
I didn't know that they made a Voyager.
They brought the name back, I think for the lesser, you know, the,
I don't know, the less upscale one lower trim level or whatever.
So is it a, is it still a Plymouth Voyager?
Or is it a Chrysler?
No, it's a Chrysler.
And, and of course, you know, if you go to Chrysler.com, there is but one
vehicle and that is the minivan.
But now there are but two vehicles because they call it Tudor for things,
right?
Depending on, you know, whether you're in the position to lay out 40,000 or 45,000,

The town and country incidentally is gone.
That's come up a couple of times in conversation.

usually when there's a car in the passing lane in Iowa, it's one of these things.
Well, the last time I was there, I saw one being driven by the Iowa Department of
Corrections as a prisoner transport vehicle.
And, you know, and then going right past it was like a family in their, you know,
their minivan.
And it's just, it's like, yeah, it's kind of what it is, right?
Transport prisoners or your kids, you know, Costco, the county jail, you know, you're good.
It's just kind of six to one, half a dozen of the other.
But I looked it up and I was shocked to find out that it actually has a V six with 286 horsepower.
That is the one engine option, which isn't terrible in a world of 2.0 turbos.
This thing actually has a, an honest to God Chrysler V six that, uh, that pumps up pretty
decent power.
So, so now you know, but, uh,
I feel like there's a lot of advertising potential there.
I mean, look at the versatility, family cars, prisoners, you name it,
you know, the Pacifica slash Voyager has got it covered.
You got bodies to shuttle around.

And I wondered if you guys actually took Consumer Reports with a pen yourself
or whether you would actually consult them.
Like, would they have any influence if you were to buy a car?
Would you look at that list?
I would.
I mean, I have in the past.
And I think it's one of many factors when you're buying a car,
especially because a lot of times you know you need a certain type of car.
So you can't just go to the list and go like, what's the most reliable?
And I'll just get that.
But I've definitely used it to help decide when you know you need a pickup truck or whatever,
then how are they rating the pickup trucks to decide for that ask, basically.
I would challenge you guys in terms of knowing what the list is now
and knowing what's in the last place before you saw that list.
Would you have got one and would you still get one?
Yes.
So it's the last place.
Let's define this.
Last place, Rivian.
Yeah, it's a bit of a shocker.
Yeah, yeah.
I've never owned a Rivian, but everyone I know that has owned one or owns one seems to love it.
So, you know, a bit of a, you know, a bit of a surprise.
You know, it's a young company, but.
Yeah, have you guys, have either of you ever known anybody who has had issues?
Because they are more prevalent now.
Everybody that I know, same thing, loves them.
I was really impressed with the quality, you know, the fit and finish.
So I was very surprised to see it at the bottom of the list.
Do you wonder if it's mostly software stuff?
That would make sense.
Which software stuff that gets sorted out, but it isn't like, you know,
we're not talking about like, you know, dry things are breaking.
Like dry things are breaking, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I know they do updates without telling the owners.
So I think their model is that they send engineers out to your cars, right?

Yeah.
And they can do changes to the car.
And I think it's part of the contract.
They don't have to tell you what they've done.
So, you know, they do their updates too.
So you just wake up and the software updated.

But it is weird.
Like no one I know is ever complained about Rivian reliability.

And yet this list, which they polled over 300,000 people.

So I guess it has some level of statistical significance.

I think there are still a lot of people that look to consumer reports.
I think to this day, they don't take anything from the companies, right?
They review.
I think they buy all the vehicles and all that.
I think there's something to that.
Plus, I like circles.
They've got that system, you know?

You know, that kind of tells me what I need to know.
But, you know, I have, I will say, I have referred to consumer reports.
And now we've got to reach out to like Molly's cousin to get his login
because we don't like pay for the subscription
and you have to be a member to look at this stuff, right?
But it's a family share plan is what you're saying.
That's right.
You know, at least till they find us out like Netflix.
But, you know, I would go there and I have for like washing machines
and that kind of thing.
But maybe this, well, I was going to say the stuff that doesn't have
an enthusiast bent, but we'll look up washing machine collectors on YouTube
because they're out there too.
You know, people have basements full of them
and they have parties and they wash and go around.
So there's an enthusiast scene for washing machines too.
But, you know, to me, a car is such an emotional purchase, right?
So I think to your point, it would be one, one element of, you know,
but I want to hear, I want to hear from someone who's driven the car
and, you know, all that as well.

I'm really curious because like you said, Dan, I mean, they do aggregate
a lot of information, but I wondered, you know, briefly, like, is it bad data?
Just because you would think with the number of people that have them
at this point, you would have started to hear stories about that.

Tesla is the most direct competitor in the top 10, which is good for them, right?
You hear more negative press around them.

And I think we have to give the disclaimer here that there were some models,
some brands that were excluded, right, just out of numbers, right?
So Alfa Romeo was not on this list, nor was Dodge, Fiat, Infinity, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lucid,
Maserati, Mini, Mitsubishi, Polestar, and Porsche.
So I'm guessing had those been included, maybe things would have shifted around a little bit.
Also, interestingly, both of the cars I own didn't make the list at all.
So that means you're never going to have an issue.
That's what that means.
They're just going to work forever.
You know, it's interesting.
Dodge isn't on there, but Ram is, which is one of the, you know, family brands, I guess.
Yeah, Galantis, Grapecar, isn't it?
