You were the only one that made it to Barrett Jackson of this year. A few other friends of ours that didn't make it either.

There were a lot of people that did.

There must have been a lot of people that did. They did good numbers.

Aaron didn't make it. He didn't measure up.

No.

He's measuring up now, but not back then.

Sorry, I'm back to my job of distractions.

Now, I saw a lot of people there. As always, I've got to say, it was packed.

Good turnout.

It was packed. I almost bought a car and I came real close and then I had clarity. I said, I know nothing about this car.

You were going to buy an Aztec, huh?

Huh?

Were you going to buy the slant nose Porsche?

Mercedes, actually.

Oh, wow.

I thought you were going to grab that slant nose Porsche.

Oh, yeah.

Okay, so you saw my post.

But it was an automatic, Matt.

That's right.

Not to be mistaken by a snot nose.

Yeah, snot nose.

But here's the problem with that one that was there.

It was expensive.

It was not a factory slant nose, which I don't have a problem with because it wasn't fiberglass.

It was steel slant nose.

So that I don't have a problem with.

What I had a problem with was that it was not always a Cabriolet.

Oh, really?

It was a convertible conversion.

And unless Strahmann did it, I wouldn't want to be around that car.

So yeah, because you just don't know.

But other than that, it was very nice.

The interior was nice.

The motor was nice.

And it went for a decent price.

I can't remember exactly.

You'd have to look it up on Barrett Jackson site, but I was less than 100 grand.

Yeah, okay.

But we looked at it because you'll have to go to my social media on Instagram or Facebook and read the story.

It's a funny story about how we almost bought one brand spanking new, the exact same car at a Porsche dealership.

But you'll have to find out why my wife decided not to get it.

The auction was packed, as I said.

We got there late on Friday and late there on Saturday because I was dealing with my house over there.

And we had some stuff to do on Friday.

And then on Saturday, there was actually an open house at my house, but got to see a lot of great stuff.

The cars were going for a lot of money.

It was like 200 grand, it was like normal there.

I think someone did a post saying that they couldn't buy anything for under 100 grand or something at Barrett Jackson.

Practically.

There was definitely some money.

We could get into some of them, but let me just run through some of the stats for you guys.

Why don't you run through some of the stats for us?

Yeah, I'd love to hear some of those stats, Matt.

They have 6,500 bidders.

We were talking about how we go to Monterey, you might go to like a Gooding or an RM.

I don't know how many people were in the room over there, but it's not 6,500.

6,500 bidders, right?

And to buy 1,911 cars.

Well, maybe they were just there for the hot dogs.

Well, then you don't need to be a registered bidder.

You could just be a part of the attendance there, but 6,500, you know, paddles were issued, right?

So you got to do the paperwork and qualify and that's a lot.

They did $191 million in cars.

They did $195.2 million with the memorabilia and the other stuff that they sell.

But $191.

I went to a party once where everybody got a paddle.

That's a different kind of paddle.

It was up in Hollywood, it was barely else.

I actually did go to one of those.

They said it was a black tie event, but it was a different black event.

Yeah, it was black leather, man.

Sorry, Matt, it's one of those days, man.

I was just saying, like, Bear Jackson, they did great.

I mean, anytime you're close to that $200 million mark, that's a hell of an auction.

Yeah, good for them.

That's a lot of money.

100% sell-through rate, everything's no reserve, everything sells.

Did you see the Instagram post of the guy who bought the million-dollar Ford GT?

No.

It is hilarious.

You got to look it up.

The guy stand there, he's up in the, you know, like the Muscle Lounge, you know, Skybox,

and they got the camera on him and they go,

sold $1 million and they pan to him and the guy's shaking his hand and his wife grabs

his shoulder and you can see her mouth and they put it across the screen.

Did you just buy that?

And he goes, yeah.

And she puts her hand on her head and goes, oh my God, it's hilarious.

It's the best.

And then he goes, oh honey, but I bought it for you.

No, he said I bought it on your credit card.

Don't worry honey, you only have to work two more extra shifts.

Exactly.

Which Ford GT was it?

It was the, it was like a great, let's see, lot, 1365.

2022 Ford GT went for, with the money, $1,100,000.

Geez.

Wow.

Did you see that Brabus Porsche, the blue one?

I think I did see the Porsche.

I saw it there and Charlotte and I were walking in the first day and they were driving it out.

To go up on stage on Friday.

What a good looking car.

Yeah.

They call it 2023 Porsche Brabus 900 Rocket R.

Oh, I did see that one.

That one popped up online and at first I was like, oh, I didn't even, Brabus was doing this stuff

because now it's just like Gunther Works and Singer and like, because like Brabus never

like shows up at the events like Paul, you know, like, you know, they don't have a display

at the Scottsdale, you know, car week.

They don't have a display in Monterey.

They're not at the quail and so I wasn't really thinking of Brabus for a while.

But interesting.

And it was, it's good looking.

They've done a nice, nice job with the body styling they've done on and everything.

It was a good looking car.

Went for a million bucks, million one with the Vig.

And, you know, they had a number of cars over a million bucks, you know, and they had a

Gullwing Mercedes that went for 2.5 million.

And that was kind of fun to watch.

I'm looking at the Brabus Porsche right now.

Yeah, cool car.

The front's a little weird, like, and there's some black lines on it.

It's a little, oh, I see what they did with the black lines.

Yeah, with the flares, the fender flares.

Yeah.

I don't know, like the front grill is like a little weird.

First of all, it has a Barrett Jackson logo ghosting on it.

Oh, that's just the photo.

No, it's a sticker down the side.

Because that'd be weird.

Yeah, they're doing that now.

So anybody that takes a picture, it says Barrett Jackson on it.

I know, but I'm trying to get a good look of the front end and everyone has a giant Barrett

Jackson logo ghosting over the, over the front.

So sorry if you hear an extra soundtrack.

My dog decided to join us because Misha went for a walk.

So if you hear some big noises, speaking of which, if you notice,

not to get off track, but to get off track, blink cameras,

now tell you what's outside.

The AI is like, there's a person in a jean jacket walking up to your mailbox, you know.

Oh yeah.

The other day it says, there's a pig sniffing around on the lawn.

No joke.

And it's your dog?

Pesto?

Was it Pesto?

Yeah, Misha was outside with them.

I'll send it to you guys.

That's kind of funny.

Oh, hilarious.

So if you hear pig noises, there's a pig sniffing around on my lawn right now.

So, you know, another thing popped up AI, then we'll get back to Barry Jackson,

but Ford's been working on integrating AI into the Ford Pass app.

And this is kind of a neat thing.

So like you can go to Home Depot, get a pallet of mulch or something like that, right?

If you take a photo through the Ford app and say, can my truck carry this thing?

It'll try to like use the photo and do the math and go, oh, that's 1600 pounds.

Oh, wow.

You should be able to put it in a truck.

And then like if you're going off-roading, this has been one of the things we talked about this once before,

about like the Ford, all these cars now in these trucks have different modes.

Off-road mode, there's slippery mode, there's rocks, there's mud,

and they had to like pull back and just make it easier for people because it was too confusing.

What mode?

So now if you're going to go off-roading and you see like a trail or something ahead of you,

you can take a picture of it through the app and AI will go, you should use trail mode

or you should use mud mode and you should adjust your suspension for this.

So anyway, it's new, it's something that they're working on,

but it's a kind of a neat idea to, you know, start using AI to make your vehicle more functional.

Can you tell you what mode you use to go up on stage at Barrett Jackson?

It probably would.

How about that McLaren Senna 2019?

I like McLaren Senna's.

They're a little uncomfortable to drive.

1.870, a million 870.

So this is interesting because a few years ago I was up there sitting with,

I was sitting with, what's his name now?

Peter Clute.

Uh-huh.

From legendary motor cars, the Canadian group.

Yup.

Peter's the nicest guy.

He's so knowledgeable about cars.

And I was there a few years ago and he was like, look at this Senna.

And he's like, this Senna's not even a million bucks.

He's like, what's going on?

And I think he ended up, he's like, I can't pass this up.

So he was just like, we were just talking and he's like, I'm just going to go grab this Senna.

Like, hold on.

And he went and he got it was like 946,000.

And Senna's like sat for a few years, you know, at about a million bucks.

He was probably kicking himself going, man, a million dollars on this car.

And these things haven't moved in years.

But now we're starting to see Senna's, you know, go over a million five, million eight.

So maybe now he's like, you know, but it took, it wasn't, it wasn't like he flipped it at the next auction.

Right.

He likes to flip it a little faster.

Yeah.

He's, he would have to sit on that for a few years.

Yeah.

Speaking of which, I'm not going to say who it was, but I had a friend who had a car that

he took over there.

He had paid 25 grand for it.

He just bought it.

Did a couple of things to it, brightened it up a little bit, took it over.

And he called me because he said, Hey, I got a Sunday number.

And I went, Oh, that might not be the greatest.

And he goes, Yeah, what time on Sunday gets 1030 in the morning.

I went, Oh, and he ended up doing good with it.

He ended up, he got 45.

So he said he was, um, after expenses, after his hotels, after taking it over there, having

it transported over and everything that he was like at 33 five.

And, uh, and I said, Well, then you did okay.

You know, I said, and, and he goes, Yeah.

And I got to keep the car for a month, drive it a little bit, play with it.

And I was like, really surprised, you know, and, uh, but good for him.

So, you know, so that's a nice little success story.

Sunday, Sunday at Barrett Jackson this past year from what I've heard from,

from friends that were out there, like, don't sleep on Sunday, man, because Sunday

was full of bitter 6,500 bitters and people because stuff was expensive.

They weren't buying cars.

And when you're going to Barrett Jackson with the intent of getting a car and you've got

money burning a hole in your pocket, you might have reliable character carriers on

call or a trailer outside.

You're going, that thing's empty.

Like Sunday people were buying cars for sure.

Like maybe not what they went there to buy intentionally, you know, from the

beginning, but they, they were buying cars on Sunday.

No, there weren't.

There were some people that, uh, you could tell.

Cause I went out on Sunday.

I haven't been out there on a Sunday in a long time and went out on Sunday and

stayed the whole day actually and saw some, there were still some people

still some good numbers on Sunday.

I mean, it was, uh, there were some buys, but there were, there was one Mercedes,

um, that, that went, um, I told you guys that I looked at a Mercedes.

I did not buy that Mercedes, but it's not this one that I'm talking about.

But, uh, a friend of mine who's a dealer, he was so mad at himself because he

knew this car and he goes, I wasn't interested in it.

So I didn't like, he goes, I was out looking at other cars for a customer

while it went across.

It was a late model Mercedes SL, the little two seat, you know, sports car.

Oh yeah.

Those are cool.

Yeah.

Gorgeous car.

It was charcoal gray with a red interior and it had all the numbers.

It had all the, the receipts that had always been maintained.

It was super low miles and, uh, it went across and it went 12,500.

Oh my gosh.

Wow.

And it was like everybody.

I mean, you, you could hear all these guys.

I must have seen three different guys and went, see that SL go across.

I go, no, I didn't, but I keep hearing about it.

Yeah, 12, five.

I wish I would have been out there.

I would have been on it.

And they all, it's like everybody saw it on the outside screens and they were

outside, they weren't inside.

And, um, it was a really nice car.

So you can get a bargain every once in a while.

Yeah.

That's on the car.

Well, um, there was a, I was going to say that that's the one with the kind of

long rectangular headlights and the long skinny.

Yeah.

That's a good looking car.

It was just in a show we were watching and I actually jumped online and was

looking at him because I'm like, that's a good looking little car.

Yep.

The, um, but to show you, there was, when I was sitting there on Sunday, a 63 Chevy

two Nova came across bone stock.

It was very nice, very clean, but bone stock, not modified in any way.

Hubcaps, little skinnies, six cylinder and it wasn't an SS or anything.

77,000 bucks.

Oh,

Hey, just kept going up and up.

I'm sitting there going, who the hell?

I mean, and people were bidding on it.

They kept getting multiple bidders and I was just like, what the hell, man?

You know, for that car and, but that just shows you a couple of people want it.

It's going to happen.

You kind of never know with auctions and stuff.

That's why I can't, everybody's like, you should sell cars at auctions.

No, I can't handle the stress.

Yeah.

It's like gambling, man.

It's like going to Vegas.

I can't do it.

Well, my buddy.

He sold by his C 10 Blazer that he had really done up nice.

Had a LS motor in it, had panoramic roof that he put in it.

It was, I mean, he touched every part of that and he was a little disappointed because he had a real,

he had a Saturday number, but it was real early in the day.

It was like 1130 in the morning and he still got 175 or 179 for it.

And he wanted to get 185, I think, you know, more than that neighborhood.

I think he wanted 200, 300, 400, 500.

But there was one that went everybody wants that that was just like his car,

very similar to his car and went, went through it about 233 o'clock and got 440,000 bucks.

He was sitting up there with us and he was like, ah, I said, yeah, power of a good number, buddy.

Well, whoever bought his car, the guy who spent 440 was the guy who lost out on the bid or didn't do it.

And then he was kicking himself going, man, there's another one coming up later.

Maybe I'll get it for 250 and it's like, no, not anymore.

Not during prime time.

Yeah.

What did you buy this weekend, Aaron?

Uh, lunch.

He tried.

He was, he was on, he was an online bidder on quite a few cars.

The million dollar Lincoln Continental, he was in at 900.

Actually, I did buy something.

I was, I was, I was browsing the trades and I saw these old wicker, like field chairs.

They turned out to be canoe seats and they fold up and they're from the 1940s and they're in mint condition.

And they were literally three streets down from where my friend lives, coincidentally.

And I messaged him like, hey, Travis, can you go pick up these chairs?

They're only a few hundred bucks.

And like when I look them up on the last ones that sold at auction were like 1500 bucks each and this is for a pair.

And he's like, yeah, dude, those are cool.

And later on that night he went over, picked him up and sent me pictures and goes, dude, these are nice.

You know, I'm always looking for some fun little, fun little lifestyle things for like, you know, picnics and the defender and just some fun stuff.

Right.

Like I could put him in the mini and go for a picnic with the wife or, or I could have a low, a low tripod.

When, when, when I paint, I do like plain air painting out.

I find a nice little bar and a nice park it and paint, you know, and it's like, this is the perfect height for that.

And I could put all my paint supplies inside of it because under the seat, it has like a little cubby and it has like these, these little legs on it, which you can, you could put your arms through.

I don't know how comfortable it would be, but you could backpack it.

Anyway, got them both for like 370 bucks and, and they're, they're like really a little jewel.

I'll send you guys a photo.

I think they're wicked cool.

And you can see them in the old defender, you know, the little mini Cooper or something like that we do when, when, when, when Misha and I go out and do fun little things like that.

It's, it's, you know, I'm that guy.

So yeah, I did.

I actually found a great bargain over the weekend.

I almost bought a car at Barrett.

Did you?

Not the Mercedes.

I just, no, I just remember there was another one that I almost bought too.

There was a little range Rover that was going across.

Oh really?

And, and I, and I stood up and Charlotte goes, what are you doing?

I said, I might bid on this car.

And she goes, Brad, you don't know anything about it.

And I said, and she goes, you know, you told me a long time ago, if you haven't inspected it, you don't know anything about it.

Don't bid on it.

And I said, I know something about this car.

And she goes, you, you haven't mentioned to me that you went and looked at her.

And I go, no, I know that Jennifer Aniston owned it.

I said, I know that, but it sold.

She wouldn't let me buy it.

You guys, you know, what did it sell for?

Like 63.

Yeah.

There's better stuff you can get for 60.

Yeah.

Someone asked me recently, they said, you know, you, you have these two defenders, which are kind of like the, you know, the, the Holy Grail of NAS defenders.

And they said, what else do you want?

And I said, I really missed out on that, on that little eight, eight.

Do you remember the one?

Was it a year or two ago?

The one from Southern California that went for auction that used to belong to like Hermes 10 error in his timing way or something.

I do remember that one.

Yeah.

I missed that one because that was like the perfect little eight, eight.

But I said, you know, I'd love a camel trophy truck of some kind, you know, I love a defender, but they also made, they made him in a, in a range rover and in a Land Rover Discovery.

But, you know, they're, they're just super, super, super expensive now.

But I said, you know, there, there was the early Range Rovers were two doors and they were pretty rough.

Like, like they weren't the posh Range Rovers that they became.

They were really kind of stripped down and just a larger version that was a semi luxurious, you know, but they're really rare to it.

And, and Stephen, when we were in Maui a year ago for Christmas, Stephen Tyler came to the house and he had just bought one.

He bought, it's kind of a mustard yellow color and he bought it for his, his, his friend and, and they were talking about it.

And I'm like, man, those things are so cool.

So was it, was it, you know, a two door Range Rover or was it a classic or was it like what kind of, because if it's in an auction house, I would think that it's something unusual.

Are you talking about the one that I was looking at?

Yeah. Yeah. Oh no, it was a late model. It was a late model.

Oh, okay.

Yeah. No, no, no, it wasn't. I'm sorry. I was looking up RM while you were talking.

That's okay.

Because they had one, a vintage one that was like that Ernest Hemingway one that sold and I was going to see what it went for.

In 88, you know, an old series 2A, you know, they're all over the place because they really are farm equipment and they can be pretty rough and need a lot of work.

And, you know, you can get them from the low teens, you know, into the 30, 40, 50, $60,000 range if it's a 60s 2A and it's, you know, nicely reconditioned.

But, but, but those two door classic Range Rover classics, they're really cool.

Like even the instrument cluster is totally different.

The pod like is more vertical and it looks a little more Jeepy inside.

And they're, I think they're wicked cool, but they're going big money now.

They're, I think they're well over a hundred grand almost.

It's like everything people start to, you know, Oh, they're cool.

I got to have one, you know, yeah, yeah.

And you guys see this is totally off, off, but I didn't even know this.

I was, I went to RM to see what that one that, that I remembered seeing went for.

And they've got a thing on here, March 18th to the 25th selling the Magnus Walker Outlaw collection.

Yeah. Yeah, I saw that horses.

Yeah, I saw, I saw, he posted a video about it.

And, you know, it's, it's, you know, it's the, what's the guy in Arizona Pratt, something Pratt.

Ron Pratt.

Yeah.

And the other guy was going, you know, he's just like, I've had the cars for a long time

and I've enjoyed them for a long time and now it's just time to, time to mix everything up

and maybe try something new or get new stuff or start over.

And he's just like, so I'm just selling off a bunch of stuff, cars.

I didn't realize he had 160 cars.

I mean, wow.

Well, it's 160 lot collection.

There could be other.

Yeah.

He said there's a bunch of memorabilia stuff.

He's selling.

Yeah.

But I know he's got a lot of cars, but it's nowhere near 160.

Yeah.

He collected 25 is what I would say.

Yeah.

I've been to his place and it was maybe 25, 30 cars and then some parts cars and stuff.

So, but interesting.

Wonder where they're going to, wonder where they're going to do it.

What, what were you saying, Aaron?

Oh, at the jokes, jokes past.

Speaking of the block, Matt, what else went for big money at Barrett Jackson up on the

block?

Well, I, if you, if you looked at 80s and 90s cars, they were really pulling good money

for what they were.

I'm not talking about the rest of mods and the customs.

That's a different topic because there's a lot of those cars that weren't really getting

the money.

Like, honestly, if, if, if you're looking to build like a custom Camaro or Mustang

or truck or something like that, these days, you know, those bills can cost 400,000, 500,000

and up.

But if you think about it, it's like, if you find something decent, like a good chassis

underneath it, or art Morrison chassis, a roadster shop chassis, you know, an engine

swap that appeals to you.

You could probably pick up something like that for two, two 30 at Barrett Jackson and

then bring it home and maybe even customize it the way you want.

Change up the wheels, change up the color, do something, you know, 30 grand, 50 grand

and you'd be saving a couple hundred thousand dollars by buying one that I had already started

and had some, some work and time into it.

I get the whole appeal of like wanting to sit down with the builder and plan it from

scratch and get it done your way.

But, you know, that ends up being twice as much money for that experience.

You know, if you don't have that kind of money, then, you know, there are some good

buys at Barrett Jackson and a lot of the custom cars.

But if you're out there shopping for like cyclones, typhoons, Ram SRT 10s, certain

Mustangs, Camaros, Irox, you know, certainly anything grand national, but like, and there's

a bunch of like the 80s and 90s stuff that was getting probably more money than they

deserve.

But that's an era that's really taken off.

I talked to the guys that bring a trailer about it as well a few weeks ago on CarCast

and he was like, look at our stats, man.

It's like, those things are going.

He's like, those things are going because everything else got expensive.

Everything older got expensive.

So now you got to move on to the next generation of car and then those will get

expensive.

Yeah, they will.

But like, listen, walking around SEMA this past couple of years, you know, there's been

this resurgent of aftermarket parts for those cars.

So, you know, you're getting, you know, before you can get a Mustang, you get a Fox body

and you get all the suspension pieces and stuff.

But now there's just like, you know, Eddie Motorsports has billet door handles and hinges

and in things like that, you could start to get Roadster Shop has chassis.

They launched their Fox body last year, their Camaro this year.

They're like 90s Camaro, you know, chassis this year.

Like because people are got to be asking for it.

Right.

Before people would go, there's no way I'm going to spend $30,000 on a chassis for a

car I spent $7,000 on.

Well, now the cars are $40,000.

And so they're overpaying for the car.

They might as well put more overpricing.

That's right.

If you're overpaying for the car, you might as well, you might as well spend the money

on putting the parts into it.

Come over to my house and find a bunch of those old cars sitting around.

You know, no price for passion.

Brad, maybe you notice if you were sitting around up there with your buddy Bader,

you'd probably keep an eye on the trucks and the Broncos.

But still there's this theme of like, if you've got a Bronco and you've restored it

and it's got a 302 and stock chassis is $100,000 Bronco.

But if you do the chassis swap and the coyote swap and the good interior,

these are $200,000 in change.

And you can see how, you know, an $11,000 crate engine does give you back more on the

auction sale.

It's like when you're redoing your house and people are like, spend your money on

the kitchen first because that's where people spend their time.

And that's where your investment, you know, is like the engine and chassis is where you

get your money back.

Bader did a Land Rover that he sold on Thursday.

I saw that.

That was a nice looking truck.

LS motored one.

And really nice.

And he did really strong.

He did 140 about on it.

No, he did a Land Cruiser.

Land Cruiser, excuse me.

We were talking Land Rovers.

I'm sorry.

Brad, come on, man.

I know I'm getting messed up.

That's mixing my marks.

Coming to my house for dinner or the neighbor's house for dinner.

You know, there's.

His was.

He did two of them, but one had a LS and the other one didn't.

The other one had a stock motor.

His one for almost 150 all in like 148,000.

I have to say I'm a Land Rover guy, but I do not like what the contemporaries are doing

to those defenders.

I hate the look, but the Land Cruisers like Bader look really good.

I think they're doing a nice job because they're, they're modernizing them in the

right way.

I think the defender people are putting, they're, they're bowling them out.

They're putting these big, ugly wheels on them and they just diamond everything, the

interior and it's, they leather cover everything.

And it just doesn't, I don't think it ages well in that respect, but the Land

Cruisers, most of the people I've seen really do a nice job with them.

And, and, and I, and I think the G wagons too.

I think like the G wagons is an old design that, that modernizes pretty well.

And I think the Land Cruiser is another one, but the defenders, man, I don't think they

modernize very well.

Good job.

I mean, it's a good job.

Like, you know, it's an engine swap and, and more drivable things, but, but you know,

it's stock suspension stock frame.

It's all like, it's, it's a nice clean truck.

It looks good.

He does nice color combos too.

Like his other one with the more of a plaid interior and like that.

Again, when you see these things, you're like, you know what, he sold it well and somebody

bought it well.

And when you buy it like that and you're going, you know what, I got a really nice truck for

under 150 grand, maybe, you know, whatever, 150 grand.

And, and, and then you can look at it and go, do I want to change anything to, you know,

am I cool with the wheels?

Then, then I'm not going to change them.

You know, he's got a billet steering wheel in there.

I probably wouldn't have gone with that or, or at the very least I wouldn't have done

the polished billet.

I would have sent it out to get black to match all the black trim on the outside of the car.

Well, that's what you can do when you buy it, man.

It's like, but if you were building something from scratch and you're like, oh, I want to

do it my way.

It's like, you could buy this truck well, and then you send the, you take the steering

wheel off, you send it out, you powder coat it, you've come back and you spent a couple

hundred bucks.

I mean, I would have put seed heaters in it, you know, but yeah, I mean, because you need

them in Orange County.

You do actually.

I mean, I, I, I had seed heaters on on the way to work today.

You know, I mean, it's a, I like my, I like my butt warm.

It's funny you say that because I was, I was thinking of putting some in Misha's little

defender for her.

I put a nice steering wheel cover on it and leather and that was fun.

I drove a 2026 GMC Yukon to Arizona for Barrett Jackson.

It had a heated steering wheel.

I got her little Porsche the other day and I'm like, man, my fans are burning up and

I go, I stuck damn steering wheel heaters on again.

You just turn the vents towards you a little more and turn the fan volume up.

One of the, one of the cars that really stuck out to me because if you would have told me,

I'm going to say even five years ago that this car would fetch nearly a million dollars,

And if you would have told me it in the eighties, I would have been, yeah, you're nuts.

But it's a 1970 Porsche 9146.

Now those cars have always been desirable.

I would have never guessed $985,000.

Now it is a 9146R, which makes it even rarer.

Oh yeah.

We have one of those on the rally.

I didn't know that existed.

That was a factory delivered.

And that thing was badass.

It's stunk so bad, but man, I followed it through most of the rally last year and I was

really impressed with that car.

It was cool.

It's a million dollar car now.

Let's take a look at the Cherry 308 that they sold at a Ferrari, excuse me, a 328.

Went for 212 800, almost the same.

Maybe the 512 was a rebodied 308.

But how about the Super America, which really has been another one of those cars that really

hasn't been pulling money, you know?

And a 2005 Ferrari Super America, 313,000.

So it got 100,000 more almost.

Now, they had a McLaren Senna GT-R over there, and it didn't get near what the one at Barrett

Jackson did.

This one was 1.270.

And it's got the big wing and all the carbon fiber.

They had a Porsche 959 Comfort went for 2.5 million, but they've been close to that mark.

They've inched up a little bit.

And like, I don't know, in the last, they've gone from 2 million to 2.5, but it's taken

like 10 years, 8 years.

I don't have to do the research on it, but it seems like it's slowly been creeping up,

you know?

But I drove dad's GT is for GT the other day and the vanquish

just to, just to exercise them because the vanquish hadn't been driven

and probably close to a year and the Ford GT hadn't been driven

and over a year.

So, you know, I took them out and the vanquish thing, that thing is so rough.

Did I mention that last show?

Oh man.

It was, it was so rough.

What year is the vanquish?

It's a vanquish S.

So it's a 03 maybe.

Yeah.

Cause it's the same, same era as the Ford GT, but the Ford GT, that thing

is such a good driver.

I mean, that car is just, I mean, visibility sucks.

And if you're driving.

Those are fun to drive.

And if you're driving it, you know, on a rally or something, the fuel range sucks,

but the car is just so good.

I mean, it could use an exhaust system because it's pretty quiet, honestly.

But there's a lot of reflection off the dash on the windshield.

It looks very gray.

Like when you're looking out the front windshield, it's not clear.

It's like, it looks very gray and I clean that windshield.

But just what, what a great car.

I just really appreciate that car.

I hadn't driven it probably 12 or 13 years.

Because we put that Borla exhaust on Mikey's and we redid the, the pulleys.

All the pulley too.

Yeah.

Now you'll get what, 50 out of it.

And the car came alive and sounds like it came.

I'm going to try to talk dad into that because, because there are some upgrades to that car

and, and our friends at Willwood now make a break kit for it that, that, that really,

really, it can use a little bit, just a little bit of improvement.

But the vanquish, I was adjusting the mirror and then all this plastic fell out of the

mirror.

Then the mirror just went, and I'm like, ah, now I need to buy a freaking mirror for

the car.

You know, and, and like one of the buttons on the, on the, on the, on the horn is missing

and the little, and the little corner, uh, interior trim for the mirrors is missing.

And, and the thing just shifts so shitty.

I put it in sport thinking it would improve things.

Sounds amazing.

And if you stay on the throttle, it falls on its face.

Like you can't stay on the throttle and shift it.

You have to let off, shift it, wait like a second and then ease back on the throttle.

Like you can't drive that car hard at all.

Like not even sporty.

Um, but yeah, it's, uh, and, and when you get in, I drove it after the Ford GT, which

was a mistake, but when you get in it, you go, you go to sit in it and I'm like, oh,

I thought you sat deeper in the car.

Like it feels like you sit on top of the, on top of the seat.

Like you should sit in the seat and, and on the vanquish, you kind of sit on top of the

seat.

It's weird.

Anyway, beautiful car, but man.

Hey Aaron, um, there's a car we talked about in the last episode that, uh, sold at RM and

it has your canoe seats in it.

Oh yeah.

Your snake charmer seats.

Um, it's the 61 Renault, uh, Jolly.

Oh, the little jollies they do.

See, that's why I love the wicker seats.

How much did it go for?

84,000 bucks.

Some of them go for a little more and then the last jollies go for a lot more.

The last one I'll bring up, uh, was a 77 Ferrari 308 sold for 89.6.

I was, when I went over to Bear Jackson, we stopped over at this little car show that

they were having, you know, like a bunch of people got together and, um, I overheard a

funny conversation.

There was a guy standing next to his, um, his GTO and, uh, like about a 77 GTO and,

uh, and I mean Ferrari GTO.

Oh God, I was going to say what?

And, um, some, some guy comes walking up with his wife and he goes, you know, honey,

I've always wanted one of those 308s.

And the guy turns around and he goes, mine is a GTO.

And the guy looked at him like, well, I don't even know what you're saying, dude.

You know, fine.

Okay.

I couldn't imagine how you could be more irritating to a GTO owner by calling it a 308.

Yes.

Because I'm sure that gets.

It happens all the time.

Because they've got that same silhouette, you know, but.

And I like that body style.

I love a 288 GTO.

I think, you know, I think that is such a good car.

And that one up at Meekum went for bonkers money.

Um, but, uh, uh, I'm going to, so I know we're wrapping up, but the RM Sotheby's auction

that also just happened, not Phoenix, they just did Paris.

A car they had there is still just one of the most beautiful cars.

They had a Ferrari.

But black, black with the red interior, um, instead of being red, it is so gorgeous.

Um, you know, they did 56 short wheelbase, uh, 250s.

36 had the covered headlight.

And I like that.

It's so nice.

It's such a, you know, with the rally lights in the front, like this is just, just so

classic Ferrari.

And yeah, it's good.

And I'm not even like a big convertible guy, but this is the car.

I ended up selling for like 16.8 million US dollars.

It was like 14 million something euros, but it's like 16 eight.

But I mean, just look at how gorgeous this car is.

And when you click through the photos, the details, I mean, just like you look at this

car, you look at this era, the seats, the gauges, the chrome trim around the gauges,

just like the red is so nice.

Yeah.

I'm not a huge fan of that car, but that is a really nice version of it.

So that, that California spider is the short wheelbase is just so beautiful.

And yeah, I've mentioned it before that, you know, the car Charlotte wanted at auction

in 1984.

And it might as well have been 14 million back then because it was 300,000.

I said, babe, we can't afford that one.

You know, I mean, it's like, but look at from, if think if you would have bought that in

1984, um, for 350,000 and now it's a $15 million.

Yeah.

16 and a half.

Now it's house money.

And you probably would have only spent maybe, I don't know, a million or two, you know,

maintaining it over the years.

We did a $10 million restoration, but we're going to make six on the back end.

And Aaron, you're going to, you're going to be bummed by this too.

Seriously, that's too much money for that car.

But it, it looks amazing.

Amazing in this blue.

I've never seen one in that blue.

And it's kind of that the chairman of Ferrari's driving a blue, was driving a blue Ferrari.

But, um, but it's blue interior.

It's a wacky combination, but it looks good.

And the thing is, is that that is going to raise the price of those cars.

People are just going to go, oh, look, no matter what, because they've been like around

a hundred grand, you know.

Yeah.

You've been right about a hundred grand.

So, yeah.

I still got my eye.

I've got my eye on two 308 GT fours.

My buddy's about to represent another one that's coming up soon for sale.

So we might try to work something out with the Morgan.

I might be, I might be as little as 10 grand off or it might be as much as like 20 grand

off.

So I might be able to make up that margin somewhere.

But, uh, I might do it if, if, if I can swing and I'll do it.

And that'll be the, that'll be my last shot at, at buying a Ferrari after that.

Yeah.

I mean, you're going to be trading one problem child for another one, but yeah,

mix it up because you've had a, you've had your time with the Morgan.

Exactly.

I love that Morgan, but I'd rather have Ferrari problems.

The Morgan problems there aren't solutions for.

Unfortunately, if that motor grenades, there's two motors on eBay.

Like I've talked about them a bunch of times, uh, but you know, they're not,

they're probably not any better than the one that's in there.

Um, but after that, it's a pedal car.

Well, then you got to start a model car.

What do you mean?

Yeah, exactly.

It's a pedal car.

Then you got to start like, you know, grabbing some like Honda motorcycle

engine, like a BMW motorcycle engine and sticking it on the front of that thing.

See if you can modernize it, turn it into something.

Honestly, like, like in Europe, when I talked to Morgan, they're like, yeah,

we're working on some conversions.

We're looking at MV Augusta's, you know, not MV that, uh, a Moto Guzzi.

He goes, we're looking at a couple other options, but nothing's really working.

Like, like nothing really converts into that configuration without sticking out

of the front end, like another two feet.

Um, it does.

It does.

It is.

Cause that car is so light and you know, cars like four feet.

So yeah.

Yeah.

Oh, come on.

It's, it's five and a half, but, but, but it completely messes up the weight

balance, you know, um, the bias changes dramatically and it'll understeer and

understeers a bit anyway.

So every time you hit the brakes, it pitches forward and the engine digs into the asphalt,

the back end sticks up in the air.

Just have a wheelie bar in the front.

Yeah.

The city comes to you and says, sir, every time you put on your brakes, you're scarring

up the street.

We can't have that.

I love, uh, it would be pretty fun when your pastor gets in and goes, why are there two
