But if I just this whole servicemen thing, I've been thinking about you and Ed talking about service mother, they actually have a procession of cars into workshops.

I don't know, they don't know my garage.

I just have to leave them, you know, at the workshop.

For if you do, I'll get it next week.

And, you know, you don't have to actually find room for them.

So I swapped the N1 over with a car.

I'm selling for more hooking. One of my son selfie is

sister-in-law so the end one's been sitting down at John Blair, Automotive, Honda experts in Quran, the that little Honda dealership anymore either. No, no, no.

They one of the one of the dealerships that actually there for the account, their franchise wasn't renewed, but thankfully, the text there. Most of them are absolute guns

and working on this for decades and decades.

So yeah they're terrific guys to actually take stuff to who know what they're doing and I've been doing work for them for many years. So they know me and they know my

eccentricities will say and they're happy to look at my car.

So the end ones had a service. So I thought I might have to do

a bit of a search for some brake pads for that car because I thought they'd been a advisory last service that We were going to be looking at pads and I mean worst case scenario or contact a friend in Japan and get them to send some down but they feel sure they'll match something jazz or something like that but there's plenty of meat on them. So it's good to go still.

So at the moment it's sitting in in the showroom floodlit and at night and my red flight so it looks sort of like Santa's arrived in an ice cream or an already and he's driving a red Honda in one so and that's good. Study my garage so I don't have

to keep moving. To get things in and out and

work. So, we're getting a lot of love.

It's been getting a lot of love. Yes, yeah, yeah.

So what is this up? You know.

I've never seen one of these before.

No, well, that's not surprising, so, but, yeah.

They're, they're very happily still working on all sorts of cars, but the particularly haunted.

So and when that one is done and finished, they haven't contacted me. Say it's finished, it'll

probably be between Christmas and New Year.

Now, then I'll probably stop it over with the city and the city can go down there for a little while.

And have a little bit of a holiday and they can have a little bit of a tinker with that.

The tappets are a bit noisy. I'd like them sort of adjusted

properly, and yeah, probably look at putting a tiny building that too because I haven't got any idea when that was done and evidently, they don't last 39 years.

So we're probably benefited to do that to not the Civic wagon.

Is also a way having the exhaust done by build Automotive, who used to be a Berkeley exhaust Outlet.

So, one of the guys down there is a real gun.

Exhaust systems. And luckily, I was actually

given a complete exhaust system from a 1500 wagon, which is pretty obscure and hard to find. So between him and being able to

put some bits in and and what I've got, and what I, what I was what is on the car, I'm sure they'll get sorted because it had a couple of leaks in it and is a bit down on power, which I'm hopeful is is a, is an exhaust problem, a collapse muffler, or something like that. And the when I got the carrot,

actually, had a new manifold gasket in it, It.

So, you're saying the other day he said, it's all very well, having a new manifold gasket, but that's actually not the right one. So, he sent me a photo and the,

what came off the car and what was the new one in the thing which was correctly, labeled and everything, but it's obviously not for this car. So, but all their Surplus came

to the rescue, they had one listed and we got a photo of it, and it's got the right number of holes and Inlet and Outlet, holes, and $25 later. We've got a new exhaust manifold

gasket for it, so that was easy. So that's all the cardio that's

in the process of being done. So might be done before

Christmas, might not, we'll see how we go.

But again, it can stay there for as long as it needs to that one's. Yeah.

That'll be a project for the new year, actually.

Get it finished and back on the road.

shop, which I'm not a, not a regular Shopper that I'll show you. On the show on the hammer, of

course not too good for the listeners, but I don't know if you've seen these at the reject shop.

there are eight dollars fifty each.

It's a card game with it, has 100 135 questions or something in it and yes, I watch this space car.

I think there might be a few quiz questions in there for next year. I think you can be one of those.

I really was driving home and she's like, I want to test how good you really are. So, she just pulled out the

question just and and she's like, unbelievably, you're getting most of these right really?

She didn't know you very well. They did.

So all I have done. I think from last show because

we can have it last week for is finished, doing the suspension on the 31. I've got fitted.

The sway bar, link bushes and the sway bar mount book on the other side of the car. So I've got that all done.

That didn't take very long. Got that done in no time.

I was going to fit a new ignition coil but it turns out that stay decided Add to change the type.

So the plug they changed it from 89 and 90 so mines, an 89.

All of them from like 86 87, 88 were all the same.

So then for some reason, they thought, hey let's change the plug, why not? She's through it.

Exactly the same. The only difference is on the

plug is different. I'm size, same everything.

So I don't know why they changed it, but I can tell you, it's it's money, like, obviously that the supplier of those coils with that plug was charging them to Dollars less and less on each coil. So it is a saving to be made.

Boom, change it over, probably sorry.

Yes. Obviously, we will touch upon

It's not really much man. Just pretty much just doing

little bits in your stuff. Getting it ready for my end of

your trip up to Road, I'm going to be doing.

So I'm just getting my You just more like camping stuff and other bits and Bobs, sort of for it.

I did however, last week attempt, to install a turbo timer, which I don't know, I think I messed it up because I got the wiring corrected. I spliced it took my ignition,

but it seems when I turn it off when I turn off the car, obviously the purpose already to keep it running, I said it for 30 seconds, the engine would stop or it would Giada.

And then The starter motor was go ballistic for a couple of seconds, which scares me which could if I wanted to kill my starter. So I just disconnected.

And for the time being, I'm just maybe.

When I have time, I might take it to an oddity leg but it's good. That that's always.

I spliced into everything correctly.

It's getting power and also don't know what's with that, but otherwise man is just yeah, little bits and Bobs to just that, pretty much nothing. They just getting it ready for

the interview trip and that's it man.

SEC the Mercedes So we've got the roof strip back, the Bonnet strip back picked up all the discs and about three maybe four dents in a whole car, not bad for a know what, how old is the cars over 40 years? So almost a 40 year old car.

So it's looking pretty good, very little rust.

I fixed all the rust up in the back window, cut all that out.

And put in a new piece, use my shrinking machine for all the making up a new piece. So that's come up real well, so

I'm pretty happy with it. What else you been doing any

other cars? Didn't take any other cars out?

No, wait for a Mustang cruise with the mustang club week before. That was a pretty good little

trick about to Amesbury up the golf course there any crowds.

Yeah the crowds. No no no it wasn't.

That wasn't that busy was pretty quiet.

Yeah but it was yeah we had a good show of cars about setting up Mustangs. Nice.

So that was good part from that went for a they normally have a room for a motorcycle ride. The where they have this every

once a month on a Friday. I go for a ride underneath the

ball T Bridge, they all congregate around, underneath the bulky there, some very nice motorbike, some very expensive motorbikes but hmm, bit different to the yeah.

It's it's the hot hatch that I guess you can call it hot hatch of the future, okay? It's quite fun to drive

actually. It's only did five laps around

Haunted Hills track in gippsland and yeah, quite fun to drive or is open today. It is more.

It's pricey but it's not too pricey compared to the range.

It gives it's got a fire. 511 km range with a 82, kilowatt-hour

battery pack and that's for 60 Grand Plus on roads, which is, you know, the code, the same cars about 15,000 Australian dollars more in the UK. So it's not too bad.

I can't see them selling too many of them, but there is a market for them and I at the moment driving and Mercedes eqa, it's Nice, but it's floaties it's like the MGs I think every car that they take the engine out and put batteries and electric motors in its doesn't for whatever reason the suspension and the balancing is a little bit wrong.

Yeah. So it's not as bad as that a CV

but it's it's yeah it's still a lot.

They're looking forward to the BMW.

I X1 which launches in first quarter next year to see if that's going to be any different and My whole star opened, the first official showroom today in Australia in chadstone so went to see that they you know just form a curious car people point of view words checking out. It's very different to any other

sort of experience Center that you go into and they're not going to try and sell you anything.

If you can configure cars there, you can.

All they want to do is show you what the cars are about.

And yeah, it's a Lawn store. If you guys have sold a scenes

the Tesla store at Tad stand. It's like that but more premium

and very experienced focused, you can feel the different materials, they have, they've got a table, you can feel the materials you can look at the paint's, all of that type of stuff. So that's that's open to the bay

and it's the first one in Australia.

They've delivered over 1200 Polestar, choose this year in its first year, so not a bad run.

And that's sort of the car updates from me gents.

I shouldn't want to look at the, the Cooper, boner organ looks our organizer, right? And in person, it looks a lot

So read some of the stats like I'm saying, it's 500, it's full electric. 500k range. Yeah.

It's got the same pack as a microbe.

Same size pack as a model, 3 Performance, or 82 kilowatt hours. It's not all I wouldn't call it

a hot hatch because 02:00 is seven seconds.

Yeah, I mean it's new. I mean the adultery is nearly as

fast as that. Is all the byd.

All dryer front wheel drive rear.

I, I think front-wheel-drive they.

Yeah, I didn't check, because they didn't give a lot of stats on that, because we weren't allowed to talk about it.

So, I was like, well, you've got to give the stats but it's the same as a UK configuration, and yeah.

It's good fun but I don't know if it's worth 60 Grand.

Well, the mark the module performance.

One is there's all these companies seem to be doing at the moment. So the biggest downfall just

quickly will be, well, hopefully they're not listening to this, but the biggest downfall will be the infotainment system either.

The walks wagon current generation infotainment system, it's just horrible. You know, disconnects like I got

to drive the hoop early on. The city down to your lawn and

during that period of time with that cable and Order disconnected. Three times.

It doesn't do that in any other car.

Okay, so and just the menus. They're so hard to get into when

you're driving. It's a much bigger distraction

that it needs to be models, will get rid of all of it.

Yeah. So that's walks, wagons biggest

challenge and unfortunately, Cupra inherits that as well.

But it is fun its unique. It looks cool on the inside very

much, like, remind me a lot of the Fiesta ST, like, you know, the uniqueness behind the interior, the seating position.

The it looks like it's there to have fun with.

So well worth checking out. They do have a center

enrichment, they're a little bit more, salesy the part of the sagami is group so they're a little bit more sales you compared to what the Polestar people are but It's checking out the cars. Should be there to see by

February nice. There's a bone in the window of

it today because I drove past it today.

There is they'll be launching their hatchback in the first half. Half of next year as well as the

that is a cool-looking I just it would be it would be good to drive and I'll be able to share all of that.

Hopefully I can borrow one and then we can have a bit of a bit of a neat together. Yeah that'll be fun.

We can all my God like that organized I think that'll be great. So is the born Move aside from

the basis of one of the electric Volkswagens coming.

So that one of the IDS, it's supposed to be the sort of our sister to, like the ID3 speaking to the product people at Volkswagen who without the bone launch thing.

I don't think we'll be getting any of the ID cast the 2024.

Yeah, I think they've dropped the ball, big time and even next year because I asked them, I said, this is the same as the ID3 in some ways. And if this is this fun, and

then the ID3 would have to be somewhat, you know, relatively close to that, right? And they're like, are we won't

be getting that until the refresh?

Which is probably 20 24 at least, so it's a bit disappointing. But I would have preferred.

Let's just say late 40,000 sort of ID3 option as well.

He didn't have to have all the bells and whistles that the Cupra has. But, you know, and it doesn't

matter if it has a smaller battery, it would still be a good sort of He car but Volkswagen has other other plans. Yeah, it's interesting.

I would seriously love one of those but, you know, yet you're to eventuate here. And yeah, considering everyone

else just releasing on the front end and like, I mean, the Patty go for forever and ever and they still haven't released video.

Hmm, I think they are still already gone government to tell them that they're not allowed to sell their petrol or diesel cars. You know, it's unfortunately,

looks like the the the change will need to be forced upon in some ways. I on another note, actually just

quickly. The Kona high-end I was today is

launched. Their new 2024.

Kona petrol, Diesel and hybrid. That looks like a cool car

photos app. It's an SUV but it looks like a

All kind of that kind directions.

It's the first car they've designed where it's inspired by the electric version. So usually there would do the

petrol and Diesel stuff designed for that but apparently they're going the other way and you can tell that in the design language from the back it looks a little bit like the ionic 6 and the rest so hopefully they can deliver those cars in like 23 24. It looks more like a star rear

hatch. It's Daria SUV instead of the

people that's it. Five is probably one of the best

looking cars I've seen in a very long time.

Like it's, it looks unreal. Like even though it's an

inverted commas SUV, I it's more of like a like a really like like a Ford Focus size kind of just just with you know, just with some cladding. But it already looks fantastic.

And I think that, I think they nailed it.

I think they've done a pretty good job of that and I think that whole range. The key ev6 may not look like,

you know, it's On to everyone's taste and ionic five appeals to some people, the Genesis GB 60s. Also based, on the same

platform, they drive really well like they've done and really, really good job. It's just extremely pricey.

Just just add, just a bit pricey for, for what they should be.

What I don't understand is why they're both on the Palisade floor pan, like the Palisade platform, which is the biggest car they make, you know, could they not like do one two-thirds, the size and actually, sell it for two-thirds, the price, but surely that make That's a war of them.

I think the, the market is the concern for them because, you know, it's hard for these companies to move and they're speaking relatively good margin on some of their traditional stuff and and the the platform development costs a lot.

But it's good to see that they are moving pretty quickly on this new platform that they do have the electric one.

But like you said, it's for whatever reason the to develop a platform must cost a lot of money.

Very you know that's why I'm Keen to see.

The but Daihatsu does with their partnership with the battery company. The biggest battery maker in the

world. Reese, also have you taken an

electric LDV for a test drive you, I did it last last month.

I think in New South Wales, the youth is not very good for nearly 100 Grand band and the people mover starts at hundred and six thousand plus on robes, so luxury?

People mover from LDV can see not many going well she's space and we were really, really sing their praises but they never, you know, lent us a car but have all did.

I think they'd get it from the states and they do it.

and pricing out the actual soft top itself.

If I were to buy it myself, I think I can get it in Australia.

Get well get it from the state's shipped to Australia for about maybe 12 13 hundred. So the rest of the money being

the labor for that, I feel. Yeah, it's a bit hate going.

It's a bit how you going like the Place.

That's a very good reputation for their work.

I'm pretty sure. None of us ensure I'm source and

software from the same place. They're sourcing it from, it's

just yeah, I'm not sure. I want to spend that much money

on just the soft, top alone. Because if if that was including

maybe the repair of the seat and the actual the gear knob, then I'd be very happy to pay that full amount.

minds about it. I'll probably end up reaching up

back to the after Christmas, if I do.

But in, you know, in the interim, the MX-5 is going just fine. So very happy.

You like that's the best you

guys can do. Just yeah.

Just you know, up the Third Wheel spins, that's pretty sad.

But the cool thing is to it. It's customizable.

You can pick and choose which which feature you want from the different modes as well, which is pretty.

Be cool. So I thought that was quite an

excellent car, but I also kind of got my eye on a Civic Type R.

That's the other car was going to suggest more man, but I've lost some, I spoke to a hundred dealer about it.

It was sort of mid seventies, I can't.

Yeah, that's the price. They're looking at which is

significantly more, but at the end of the day, I think, if I have only in the car long-term, What are probably be happier owning a tie bar then I would, you know and I thought Ian.

weekend July 30 and manual and you're right.

David is very customizable, you know you had the whole car in attack mode but suspension left in in just a normal mode and follows you throughout your back and that was the Gin because like the the car was just like it felt great, it wasn't bumpy and cry. It felt lost the noise.

It makes it shouldn't be legal the way pops him.

You need to ask yourself. Is it worth 20, K more?

course, I don't have money so would the to the extraneous pain now? Hypothetically speaking, would

that be worth a lot more? You know, 10 years down the

track with a Civic Type R If it was like this, hold on the boys will always say yes and and I would be normally in a grains with them but I think the fact that how you and I can't come up with a package, that's from the get-go.

So damn good and Been Loved by Automotive journalists all over the world. It's going to be held in high

regard and I don't think it's going to be two inverted commas, less of a car. If that makes sense.

Like yeah, it's a little bit down on power tool, Type R been in terms of probably collectability.

Yeah, I'd say type out all day. We day, but there's rumors that

the Hyundai stopping the end program anyway.

Like they're they're stopping like 30 and I-20 and so you might be onto onto until until little thing there and I and after driving it like 30 and I get it it was it was fantastic.

I fell in love with over this car with this.

This cars cracking and I would have said Civic Type R every day until I drove on and but I would still say Civic Type R but if it's over clip it's close to 80 grand if that's what they're after. 72, six drug away. Okay, so we do see, okay, well

And I think that just just for some context, my daughter guy bought in 2019, a 20-18 tired, far in that Championship White And straight off the floor from Brighton.

10,000 cases. It's been tracked a couple of

times but this guy looks after it so they'll be even on the used Market. You'd probably still pay 55 to

60 grand for 2019 2020 car or maybe higher as the main man.

It says I was looking at them because I quite like them and my mom, my mom is a phantom. She's like, why is going for

your the ones? I like, I'm like, what you mean?

The type. I just again the blue, 70 grand

plus G's and I'm like, oh, I can see why they're very good but oh, you know, it's yeah. One of the one of those things.

This is more of a more superficial kind of complaint, but I think, overall, the championship.

Why In the type, R Beats out any color, you can get me, it does, I think the blues stunning racing Blues, just can't afford or something great and they are coming out and Sonic gray as well, is the gr Corolla around that same price.

in America is just far too high for us to get them.
