As well as it, if you seen the prices of those damn things that each of those stupid like it is the most expensive car I've ever bought for me personally, you know, to keep which is saying something I've had a lot of cars. Mmm anyway, why the S-Class a Scotty me, not too much yet but I'm still kind of gathering bits and pieces for the The suspension in the 31."
"Well, let's, let's watch this space because I think, I think like, we talked, we talked about a few, a few episodes Ago by likes what we're doing. Like, you know, to turn out like American cars in the one, the ones work that we really like, and, and There has been, as you said, like, there's been some highlights throughout the year, like, a CTS-V, you know, in a wagon is hilarious LS. Yeah. Ell us a V8 and a 6-speed manual."
"probably See if you think German cars. But I also think, if you think German cars like, because when I was a kid, my dad, my dad used to tell me all the stories are used to drive, the rich people's Mercedes 600's, back it back in his home country and, and he's like nothing but Compares, and he still says, do nothing compares to a 600 and like an old just German tank of a Benz is kind of pretty iconic as well, you know, I'm with you on the 911. I think that's what immediately Pops to mind and and then you have very yeah, I agree. Very close."
"you know, the more Enthusiast choice I suppose in terms of his, yeah, yeah, driver's car. But for me, I'm going to go bit left field here because this one car was sold virtually everywhere was the Mazda RX-7, and it was rotary powered and America, you race them, we race them race all over the world. Old, what very successful race car, very, but when you think of like you think of rotary, if you don't think of where it originated from you think of how Japan master?"
"No think about who they were affiliated with. Might help Adam, Adam You're like a minute and some sort like an A-Class. Yeah, absolutely. I'll give you. I'll give you the key to the"

Choosing out here in 94 9 Northwest FM.
It's me Mary Jo online with mr. David Prince, mr.
Edward bunting mr. Ritchie Ross actor and returning
again, mr. Alan Morris from RE driven, hey
Duke. Hey guys done great nice.
Hello Eddie, are we good to see all of your lovely faces?
Hopefully, you're having a great week so far now, and it's gonna be your first time doing, like, one of our normal kind of shows where we're not interrogating you like it was a, where's the money? We did you hide it?
It's basically, you know, we can have a chat, we have a discussion topic and we go from there.
But um how's your week been big milestone.
Congratulations on the hundred thousand subscribers for your Channel or done. Thanks Mike.
Yeah, the numbers that I cannot, I cannot wrap my head around at all. It's yeah.
It's rub salt in the wound. I think we've known each other
for 11 million views. That's how it's done.
Yeah, it's bananas. I can't.
Yeah. Cannot ya can't fathom.
It still? Like as we said like last time
the idea behind Behind it. And the concept behind it is
something that people I think are really, you know, saying, well, this is no one's doing this.
Like, this is a good thing. And, and, and it's good to see
that you've got like the fruits of your labor or just like, you know, killing it at the moment. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It seems like one of those. You know, it says, such an
obvious idea and I don't understand.
Now, I do understand why, no one did it, because it's what a lot of bloody hard work and yeah. It's yeah, it's quite taxing.
But yeah. Yeah.
Again, we're just, we can't believe the response and it just No, we appreciate the support, and the views, and everyone so much. So yeah, if you've watched thank
you so much as in the rooms sticks out about when you're on the last episode and it was the we hear you car launches.
And and people recommend, you know, this is a pretty encouraged fantastic thing but but once they're out of warranty a few years down the road, you know, like this.
And I've heard journalist you recommend I'll never forget the certainly when I won't mention his name, very Bueller on the other Airwaves in Melbourne. Recommended someone who had like
a Corolla for 12 years Ono by and by a polo, you know, to replace. Yeah.
It's the, you know, how they fit their fantastic cars, you know, so much more sophisticated than the Corolla and I thought you've got nothing to be like. Yeah, he's out of work.
They pick rollers that never ever stopped.
And never ever not started, you know, and putting them into something that may will spontaneously combusted.
Any given moment Gautam said anything, you do.
Just nearly beaten to death for you, do fall into the Trap of because you get a new Prescott every week, and you have really no need to own your own car. And the car that you do, on
barely gets driven because you're impressed cause every week, you don't really? Yeah, it's almost hard to keep
your your mind in reality because if you're getting a new car every week, the course they're fantastic for a week, amazing for like two or three months, long term, a bit after 10 years old, as you said after the warranty periods up, it can go pretty pretty South pretty quickly very, very quickly.
Also joined by by Scotty do, how are you Scotty?
Yes, good thank you. Has everyone else very good man,
right? Right.
Be good. Good to have you guys back on.
Good to good to see you again. Oh, you lovely face.
Will get into some car updates. Now, this is a segment where we
talk about like, you know what we've done with our cars over there of the course of the week and we basically inform our inform, our listeners of of all the shenanigans that goes on and if we get into our topic so we'll start with you.
I don't have it. Did you end up getting the WX
started? Did you give you?
Take the covers off man. Okay, this is lots of news in my
little car world so haven't even taken the cover off.
I'm, I'm seriously contemplating having a massive shake-up of the three cars I have at the moment. I've got the WRX I think it's
going to be on the market soon. My stage as much as I adore that
car so much. He is a thirsty boy and I'm
driving to Sydney, Newcastle City a lot and the I reckon is 20 liters per 100 case. At least is getting a little tap
mixing and this Talika we have is a 98 salika 470 something thousand case still running, like a dream, but not quite confident to drive it to and from Sydney regularly.
So all three might be on the market and are probably going to be replaced by it. I'm thinking a t. 31f Trail is
the the work gig car and I'm actually thinking the 1.6 liter
Kia Rio from about 2010. I think it's the UV series.
I think a highly underrated car boring, I know.
But, you know, the money's going to go.
Going to be driven to keep trying to build an Empire.
So that's I think that's the plan.
I don't. You quite like those.
Those keys like, they're quite a reliable thing.
Yeah, I had a person come to my other job with one and it had done, 20,000 cases of some old lady and he boarded the teachers. Teachers daughter how to drive a
manual. She didn't want to drive the
manual. So she was so he was like, I'm
going to keep myself with jobs, great.
So he was happy with it. Yeah, I may have also
photoshopped one dis a little bit lower.
And and maybe use some very solid spaces on.
It was trying to find this photo.
I'll show you guys because I love you.
I love your opinion to see what you think.
So here it is just a tiny bit lower with spaces on.
You can see that. That actually looks really good.
Yeah. They just standard wheels on it.
That's the day. The standard Wheels is the back
of it. The back looks amazing.
Very Renault. It is very good.
It is a business. Yeah, you're right.
It is yeah. So yeah.
Might be the plan we haven't reviewed one yet.
So we need one to review model, is your stage at the, you've got an M 35 Stager, right? So, yeah.
Is that the 2.5 turbo or the 2.57?
Yeah. And it's the very top specs.
I promised Steve full drive, everything.
Heated seats. It is.
It's an exceptionally, good car. The only thing wrong with it is
fuel consumption. Yeah.
That's it besides that it's just yeah.
And what I've got an extremely heavy right leg and foot as well, so that certainly doesn't help the equation, right?
No. Good from the show comes on
quite often with the turbo Terry.
He complains about fuel consumption and he owns a turbocharged territory but he used to have a M35, is it VQ 25 DET? That's yeah, exactly that.
That's that's they do you know how to how to shift kit in it and used to go really well, how to tune, had a bigger turbo and yeah, and it went well. And basically, he's like a, he's
killing me on fuel. So he sold it.
And we bought, and he bought a, he bought a Persia was at the 2007 GTI, they did. Yeah, yeah.
And the, the day you bought at the timing chain stretched.
Sorry. He was not, he was not very
happy. Wow.
So he ended up saying that he bought an ex SX Turbo huge which he loved. Yeah.
He's like, I wish you never saw the stage.
He's like I should have. I should have just sucked up
about fuel consumption out. Now I need a tutor retard
turbocharged territory, which just drinks it.
Like crazy. So he said, yeah.
But I could have done this stage are a bit longer, I'm like you should have done the Stager a bit longer.
Yeah, they are cool color. Really like that car.
All right door, and everyone is talking point any time ago, anyway, which is really I always have someone coming out, guys.
I don't fault. Oh, what is this thing?
Yeah, yeah, yeah right. Yeah.
I do love it. I don't want to be like I think
you can reach the VQ. I do 30, Vicki.
See ya. There is a manual version, but
they're pretty hard to come by. Okay, lovely.
Mr. Edward, a place. Hello.
I haven't been around for a few weeks.
Have I met you been on the on the the south coast of France and enjoy yourself and holiday mate?
Pretty much. So, hence there's been no car
updates while I've been away. But I've been busy since I got
back. So project, Mark was resumed
about, I don't know the afternoon of the day after I got back. Good work.
Yeah, what did I crack on with their?
A friend came around and we got the clutch master cylinder.
There was a flexible hose that goes from the master cylinder down to the slave cylinder. One of those bolts wouldn't come
off and anyway, he managed to get that free which was good.
So the new slave cylinder is now on then we realized I need a new hard line from the clutch master down to the flexible hose bit.
So and accelerator cable was a bit sticky and a couple of other little bits. So I put in Order Monday morning
yesterday morning. First thing.
Too many sporting Adelaide and I get home today and it's on my doorstep which is amazingly good.
Oh yeah, so I sort of thought. Oh maybe Wednesday, maybe
Thursday will get that. But bang it's here now.
So before this very show, I put on a gasket between the heater pipe in their head that was missing.
I drop the bolt down into the sump guard.
So then had to pull off something out to get the ball to the guys and I thought do I have time for a show to do this clutch time? I'd line.
And I was like, probably not, but I'll attempt it anyway, so I got that. 1:30. So yeah, it's very, very close.
Now, like once that have lines in and their breaks where we started last night, Matt, with the wheel cylinders, as well, yeah, good old, just replace those to be rear wheel cylinders, there's not too much in it, and then it should be bleed, the brakes bleed, the clutch, and it should run and dry, while it runs, but it should start, and stop.
And then I can check could trade plane on it and go for a fitting around the neighborhood. Really excited about when I
pulled the sump guard off tonight, to get that little bolt out. I didn't notice this kind of oil
in the sump guard, so it does have quite a severe oil leak from somewhere. I don't know where yet, but I
will find that out. So maybe I'll have to drain the
oil. Again, it might be a thump gasps
girl, who the hell knows, but at least, if I can run and drive it, then I'll know what the rest of it's like, as as David says it's it's, it's a, it's a safety feature, it's got oil in it.
I'm getting excited about it because it's, you know, by this if I can have a good crack at that tomorrow night and then maybe by this weekend, I can be motoring down the road is moking is not a welfare state. As well as it, if you seen the
prices of those damn things that each of those stupid like it is the most expensive car I've ever bought for me personally, you know, to keep which is saying something I've had a lot of cars. Mmm anyway, why the S-Class a
third of the price? Anyway that's me.
Scotty me, not too much yet but I'm still kind of gathering bits and pieces for the The suspension in the 31.
I think I mentioned that I did order.
The sway bar mount bushes, maybe a week or so ago, and the cast of rods and bushes as well. They've all finally arrived.
So I've got those ready to be put on, I think it shouldn't be too bad because I've kind of instead of just buying the bushes and all that on their own, kind of buying it as the bushes already into the suspension.
Actually like part, sometimes it's choking what is your yeah and we'll just make it a lot easier when it comes to feeding tubes. That's an ugly and parts, the
sway bars, and the custom rod bushes and that will all be the polyurethane. So be better in a little bit
more tighter feel should be good in those bits and pieces there.
So I get around to do my best so I'll give her a gorgeous T if I can fit some of them myself at some point, some of the bushes.
I got no hope the photo just to leave that to a professional try and do as much as I can, but there's some things are just like nah he'll end up with me. Wearing I'm losin it started
like math. Help us I'll pass on that one 40
days. Scotty yeah I know it's big
tight. It's 40 days coming coming too
fast. Now time for some context, this
r31 Skyline that. That's what he's been getting on
the road as been getting on the road for how many years now.
So do you know how long I've actually owner for three years longer? No, well we've got a deadline
for him which is Which is classic classic Japan?
Right? 40 40 days time.
So I asked him what I've 31 is it is the two-door or four-door?
What is it order that he delivered?
Yeah. And I see ya is that the
silhouette or whatever it was called the minds of the mid-range once they got the TI and then the only one, I can't remember. There's an executive G, XE XE?
Yeah the gxd yeah, just under the TI and then you got Skype, which was the sporty? That had LSD.
And yeah, yeah, yeah. Well I had that in a Pintura
wagon or as I call it the Pantera wagon and that was that was the car. I learnt to drift in any time it
rained and it was like past 1 a.m. where we live was half,
industrial estate half housing estate.
I just went over to the industrial estate at 3:00 in the morning and just drift around around the bouncing.
Till the sun is coming up. I had to avoid postal trucks was
great. I would recommend don't do that.
If you're listening, I would not recommend Commend.
Yeah, - no i.d. in the 90s if you get away with it.
What you say is that it was in it was in Mexico.
Where's well? Yeah a private private
industrial estate man. I don't care how it's getting
there if we have to put that's it, isn't it?
About forth. So where are we now?
Where the blue light change them thing for what over today?
Well sir, it really isn't that long, is it?
No. But I thought, you know what to
do, Scotty I don't think what's on priority at the moment, is the air flow meter. That is definitely toast because
I started, I just won by and just gave it a bit of a run just on the weekend and it was not happy when it was plugged in and unplug it goes back to you know, idling rather nice, plug it back in starts, cutting out ready to stall, and it's got to use saying, you can't just buy a new one of those.
It does only secondhand ones, secondhand ones and ones that are being rebuilt. So how much is a rebuilt
16-hundred Jesus? Then I found something.
Half the price. Yeah.
What is brand-new but was not like genuine Whatever.
This is not. I be genuine harsh.
This is not be, I'll be 30 or IV.
What is it? What's in it?
Yeah, I'm exerting. Yeah, I'm a 30-year fuel.
So it's so website for old Holden parts and because of the Vol and that they've come up there for so bits and pieces for the rb3. I swear, I found it so really
the change. Yep, definitely.
So look into that and just that should fix the problem.
It should I Perfectly by then 40 days.
Got to every week we're going to say, yeah, we'll be sitting here this time this time next week three days and I feel like every day you're going to send through a message, will be 39 days, 38 days. Thanks David.
I've been playing. With the city, a little bit more
people, actually, it got some great people that I do work with through the industry. And I dropped it off yesterday,
we want to get the engine compartment.
Professionally cleaned up, which, you know, is doable.
If you've got the time, this guy's got all the bits and pieces in the wherewithal, the numb, it just turned it from looking like a 40 year old car that had never had the under the Bonnet clean to like a car in the showroom basically.
We stunning transformation and it was really apologetic cause you couldn't get around the down front of the engine.
And so I just couldn't quite get in there because the grills a bit closer said, I said there's two no buttons here.
That you actually, you can actually load the grill down to change spark plugs. And he said so you get stuck,
you do it again and he should also and and then got busy with a bath and it's just kind of like like a new peanuts just looks fantastic. So certainly it's a few little
touch-ups but our community. Can do those.
That's easy enough. How longs it take him to do a
job? Like that?
David, look, it's a bit of a talker.
So on Facebook, that lovely, lovely guy, and I've known him for many years. In fact, I found a photo
yesterday, I was going through some stuff and totally by random. I found a photo of another city
that I had in about 1990 that he details.
And it's got a photo of one of my sons.
Next to it was seven at the time.
He's much older than that now, but he detailed that one as well. So as he'd never believe this,
but the same day, you're actually detailing another city for me, but it looked pretty little cast thought.
So didn't take you that long, you know, it was literally just walking around with the muffin but he's got all the right compounds and stuff and he look at the pain will go.
Yeah, he can tell where it's been painted where it hasn't been and what compound to use on that panel compared to that panel. And it's, it's when you know
what you're doing, you know, if they make it look easy and and the end results just brilliant. So that's been good.
The next thing I'm feeling around with his wheels.
Pits got pearly. P3000 145s are twelves on it
from about 2003. So they're sort of almost, you
know, as hard as licorice now. So we'll be replacing those.
Of course, you can't get 12 inch tires of.
I've tried a number of sources and yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Very, very how you can get light
truck ones if you want, but I really want like truck ones.
But I remember when, when my son hadn't had a city probably 15 years ago that we used to motor Carter and stuff.
We actually put 30 inch Civic rims on it and that just widens up here. Range of choice of tires, so
much better. They actually sit really nicely
on the road to work with it. Slightly bigger wheel and a
bigger footprint. So I'll probably Probably that
would be my concession to originality you to go to 13-inch rooms rather than 12. So what do I do, if I need new
tires on my city? You can't buy them.
I think your ties are 13 inch. Oh, my will be.
Yeah, I think I think that the option, the Civic option with heels you're on your car. So I think you're right.
The, the city had a quite a distinctive if the 12-inch Factory option will was quite distinctive, or sort of had a rectangular block across it and it's the one in the brochure had the option level always. But, but Elbows on your car.
I think our Civic option, I think the 13 inch so I agree.
I couldn't tell you. Yeah, I thought they were worth.
It ain't actually. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. That's extra wheels are 12.
And this is these Parolees. We're obviously great ties in
their time but they literally look like shopping trolley wheels on it. It doesn't look like this.
Actually got those wheels that are on my city.
Those Alloys, you reckon you, but you reckon you've seen them on other cities. I've got I've said there's no
no, no other cities. I've seen them in Accessory
catalog and I'm sure there are their civic got there is Civic options so it sort of third gem specific Year s surgeon.
Okay, as was proved with that car of yours that set up a dealership floor. I think, was in Tweed, heads.
I think it was a deer. Yeah, I thought we'd last
accessory shut down from the top speed.
Yeah including far more stripes than its normal for any kind of have. Yeah, yeah.
To see where they were going. I'm like, let's use up all the
all the stuff lying around all the remaining stock, let's just use it. Whenever again, the cell doesn't
just become all over the animal over there, had one.
Yeah. So that's pretty much put on be
doing this week. In one's been having about.
I had a actually chatting about motoring journalists a little earlier, and one of the actually contacted me about getting into having a driver, the N1, they're interested in actually getting a k and they were Honda. So, Next time, he's in
Melbourne. He's going to look me up.
He said take for drive. My bet you might take it home if
he's if he's talkin turkey enough.
Hmm. Okay, that's what is this.
It's them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Don't think it ever part with that but it might happen.
Well, the only thing you're a leader is not part with it.
The only way to part with it is to to upgrade it to a new model of the 6-speed manual. I think the 6-speed manual RS
would be a lot of fun with that. That little 660 turbo engine.
Yeah. So watch this space.
As you say we hit you up next. We can find out.
Where is updates with you? May I saw you yesterday we
caught up and you enjoying the red.
The rizla was in the res like yesterday, not much.
I think some 35,000 case, I'm still looking for tires but the track it seems pretty good re going to get up.
Up to 50,000 without too much of an issue unless they get a flat but yeah. Apart from that obviously like I
said I've been getting reports out of Seoul.
The the Kia cerato is doing amazing on the track out there.
I think they are doing and and in addition conversion as we speak. So while that's still going on,
things are looking good. So Oppa Gangnam Style.
But on the car front, I It's and at 03 for a weekend next week, which should be good. So, looking forward to that, I
think it's a lot of car for the money.
One thing to watch out for byd has not said anything to be facts yet but based on the data that I got last month from the transport departments and what they're telling me this month, they will be the number two best-selling EV brand in Australia this month and just think about 59, 100 last month.
I think they did, they did. And look at the Benchmark.
The next one is high-end, I with about 250 V's.
So that's what be body has to beat this month and word on the street is they're already way past that after just the first week of deliveries. Well, so they will be the number
two selling EV brand and prediction is there will be in the top 15 brands in by September next year.
Well, it's going to be a big reshuffle is near in the near future where Anybody could look at mobile phones.
What were using 15 years ago is not what we're using now, necessarily? And yeah, well, it's gonna have
because, because we're using mobile phones with B VAR, D batteries in them. Because that's what they were
doing. Supplying the Nokia back in the
day so they find a way but no apart from that no other car news. As such also we will talk about
yesterday about like there's going to be massive Shuffle with within the the car patriarchy. I think that route.
It's going to be a big rude. Awakening for some companies
that I think there's going to keep getting by on what they've got so intense, we can have to sit right.
But but I was just gonna say one more thing just drop menu cars.
I should check that the crawl across today which is they're just going to absolutely sell like wealth for a hybrid.
They're already nine months. Soak the 9-month weigh down one
what's it like there? It's actually Tweet to say, but
it's actually a cross between the H cross in the right for smacking daughter. Make sense smack in the middle
size. Wise, really pretty good, the
front's got looks, and interestingly, the front overhang is longer than the rear.
Overhang that's not usually a thing.
Unless you driving a Citroen XM, really, I mean, you know, so it's in profile. I thought, well, that's an
interesting thing. And one of those great big sort
of black grills that takes up a lot of the things but compared to electric car that doesn't have a grill.
It's it's a bit of a statement but the dealer I was at said, he said, looking for a probably nine months for it for a hybrid.
He said, I see what about a petrol.
He said, well, he said I probably could probably quite a bit sooner. We haven't actually taken a
deposit for a petrol one. So everyone live.
Yeah. They've taken and their, their
will To next year. Deliveries now on the cars
they've already got pre-orders for hybrid.
So I'm looking at property. Now it's quite a good-looking
car. I was, I was really impressed.
It's good range but colors. Yeah, I dare I say it.
I was very impressed. You might be putting down a
deposit of Walker. I'd like to take one to drop by,
but which I will do. And will you David will you test
if the wheels come off that car as well, sometimes I will be testing that out that is plenty of roundabouts in camberwell so that they are, they are quite quite good.
I mean, Ed, was it one of your parents that took either jerez cross delivery? Couple of Bob 12-month?
Yeah, every year ago now? Yeah, yeah, that's just clocked.
16,000 Kai. I'm driving it yesterday
tomorrow or today and tomorrow. Yeah, it's great.
It's really It's a really good little car.
It's averaging something like three point nine litres per 100 and it's doing everything that it said it would.
So, my mom really likes it, and I was just thinking you didn't crawl across her. That God, if the heiress cross
didn't exist, I think we would have bought the crawl across, but it seemed to see what they price it act as the heiress was initially. They kick off in this sort of 30
grand dish or just over, Mark, which was pretty cheap and the end but they went up to sort of low 42.
Ooh, the top top one. So I'm imagining Corolla cross
would kick off high 30s. I mean, that's, that's exactly
right. Yeah I hope 30s hybrid ads ads
only two grand which I think's a bargain.
Yeah, a no-brainer. Yeah and that's why they're
selling as many as they are. The top one is the the call it.
The at loss with a net Scott, yo, heated seats and steering wheel panoramic roof self-parking and it's the first Toyota to actually have the that whole Interactive Smart phone connectivity. So you can remote start at you
can? Yeah.
Climate control. That would be fun.
Yeah so everybody is that the top hybrid one how much is that 52 driveway? It's getting up.
There she is you know what it is?
But I mean you know a top top top Reds you know either 60 I think they're it does for a second-hand Raven.
The yard the other day it was 68 99 what you think?
Values of these cars. By the time they get the M like
it's like us going back and saying, we want a flip phone on that. That's it.
It's going to be. It's going to be very
interesting time and you'll be very busy with your daughter.
Yeah, it's yeah, starting with a 5.
You just go its own answer your previous question.
I think, I think base model petrol, You know, mid to high 30s Drive Away. Hmm.
And then whether you want to or drive four-wheel drive and there's three levels of trim and whether do you hyper or not, you know, you got plenty of choices of models and they say they range anywhere between those high 30s to and I think they did with the arrows across to there was run three different drivetrains. Basically, in three different
spec levels. So mix and match any of them
which was quite flexible, you know, the Japanese aren't So, you know, generous when it comes to that normally they railroad, you know, this one is this. Hmm, very good.
Very good. Interesting to see how it goes.
I think it'll go well by the looks of it.
I think anything Toyota does is kind of going all Israelis in it. That's, that's the, that's the
whole point. Yeah, up this to me, I'll keep
it quick swing. You've got a big one.
Don't you? Or have you already done that?
Oh no, you did. It's the bins made it.
It's somehow made 800, km 3 cats, teach anybody bands is gone. Yeah so you can't you can't
stand all the car broke down again and I it made it surprisingly and the guy that drove it up they got to find in it so I'm like we must be okay. If that far most gone, they were
placing it with a an alpha. How are ya?
so then goes in next week for a few things it goes in to get it again because of the paints and again and it's going First inspection, you have kind of and they go to do the, the recall oil hose, whatever it is. So that is how, I mean, it
hasn't even done 3000 case yet, so that that'll that'll be there and that's pretty much it on my end.
So any bites on that LTD. Nothing yet nothing but well, we
shall see. I might put the price a little
touch lower and put on a couple more places.
See how we go? We will see.
Anyway. We're moving on to tonight's
topic gentleman. So tonight.
So I was I was going to ask you guys if you if you picture a certain country and a car to go to match that country, what would it be? So, for example, if you say,
let's say, Australia, you think of XY and z, or you think I've noticed, Ozzy car you buy you? That's it.
Like it's a Malu, you know that I think are as easy as they come, so we're gonna go around the world, you know, you know, in a way of discussion in terms of what do we think?
Represents that country? The best?
If you We think of like Germany or Italy or France or Japan wherever you know, bam, there's the car think of.
So we're going to start with America of all places because they've they've got many many cars.
I could lie, could represent them.
What do you think? Would you wouldn't, if you see
if you think America the first car, you think of, when you think of America, one side said, Corvette jump to mind.
How do I staying? No.
But then now, that I think about it, pickup truck and F-series truck. Yeah, I was thinking It depends
where in America almost, but if you think of it as a whole, as you were saying, I'm so like use of Crusoe Corvette straight away. What what what I do a podcast
today about the original Willys Jeep in.
I've been researching, we've got a Ram 1500 vo, coming up, and I've been doing a bit of research on that.
So I don't know why the Corvette pop to mind because two, other iconic American cars been in my mind more.
But you gotta know this is America.
I just thought Corvette that is. I'm not honestly the biggest fan
of American cars and I'm not I'm going to Jerry Seinfeld said once that you're either a Porsche guy or a Corvette guy and I'm not a Corvette guy. Yeah.
So yeah. So yeah I think yeah I don't
want to talk to him one. So Ed and so you guys had
Mustang and then Scotti Went to went into F series during my things more iconic than call that or call.
That is almost thing. Just has that worldwide.
Kind of like you instantly see that the silhouette of I got over like a 64 and a half. Mustang you like I know what
that is. Like, it's one of those cars
that everybody knows what a Mustang is.
It's it's kind of its kind of hard to to put you in on how that happens but it's just so iconic.
I suppose that that's that kind of, you know, really busy.
Also it's got a movie as well and it's yeah.
As you're saying it's known worldwide.
You know you can't really get Corvettes anywhere else.
Mustang is, you can start getting elsewhere.
Corvettes been around longer. They did thing that it should be
them. Yeah, I don't know, it's just
something about it. I think more into racing more of
a racing pedigree with it, you know, along with the Camaros and things like that. For some reason, I'm just drawn
to the 60s, these are all golden era for America, though, to like, it was just like everything that comes out of the sixties. And I guess early 70s was just
like, you know, straight line. Animal cars, it was that period,
the period of celebration in post-war, you know, everyone's in a high. There's him some money in the,
in the economy and therefore, heaps of money into industrialization of American manufacturing and both the Mustang and Corvette and all those muscle cars with such a celebration of that of that period.
And yeah the all overtly American Gas guzzling and Loud obnoxious and hate Corners. So yeah Petra was so cheap over
there. I mean that was not yet and Did
it in absolute, you know, infinite resource, you know that no one thought that they were actually wasting it.
And so these huge engines and cars that were designed almost selfishly I suppose? Yeah, they were they were huge
in Dimensions but not not great inside.
Really shallow boots, you know, all sorts of things.
So they weren't particularly efficient designs but they were big in heavier he's rooms. Yep, I think of the crime cars
in the fins, in the Chrome. Like, yeah, probably.
Yeah. I started in the 50s more than
the 60s, but like that Cadillac, you know, with the pointiest fins and those bullet taillights.
Yeah. 59 pooped. Evil.
Yeah. In that era when you think of, I
think that when I think American cars, Nice car. And like you think our American
house is so big and bulky. I'm yeah, it's a big, it's a big
car but compared to what we have today, it's not that big.
But not now not now. Yeah.
But yeah the lines in that car is stunning and and you know like the you know the burble that when it when it drove past it just it was just it, personified everything about that that kind of era to 60 70, s 50s, you know, that we just, you know, we want to put the biggest motor in the in whatever car we can. An and just goes just and just,
just go Route. 66 and that's it, like, it's yeah, personifies a
am I right in saying that that 57 Bel Air had the exhausts as part of the bumper you know where they was at integrated?
I think I remember correctly. Seen one second, one of the
deep. Yeah, well indeed I might have
my brothers had a Believer and actually had the petrol Kap hittin under part of this whole life.
Yeah, well turn that. Turn that part of the Chrome and
it sort of dropped open in the petrol.
It was Zero. Yeah, that's yeah.
I remember the one you thinking about it.
They exhaust to sort of, in a cutout in them, in the bowl.
Yeah, I'm not sure if this is a location thing or a generation thing, but I remember all and through all fast, and the furious Gran Turismo guy. So, as always JDM and maybe
European stuff, and if you liked an American car, you would never admit it to anybody. That was just in the same way
that you could never really liked hip-hop, So I think one car that's quite iconic for myself anyways.
The Pontiac Firebird because of Knight Rider.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I was just a kid so I
don't really care about the acting or anything like that, but that car blew my mind. But how can a car be anywhere
everywhere and it's, it's yeah, I don't know.
It's one of those cars. That's just, I didn't think And
they would you have anything as cool as that as a kid off of that was awesome. Computers and cars altogether
and it's reality now. Yeah, it's her.
Yeah. So, you know, you order our
model S or model X and you get the little yolk steering wheel that that car. Yeah, get the computers inside
and you get the self-driving and you get.
Anyway, it's that was one of my most iconic American cars that I can think of especially from That, 80's sort of TV are.
So that's the reason why you got to tell her is?
Yeah, that's it. My man.
You got A Sneak Peek into one yesterday.
To did. Truth comes out on the show.
Is truth comes out, man. It's this is what we do.
No, I completely agree with you. Or is our, I reckon that I can
has a very, very cool car. Very iconic car, as well, but I
think like game of the way you were saying and I'm like you know about like you never admitted to liking like American cars because it just it just wasn't cool.
I think they're like when I when I was in high school it was Like, yeah, we still, we still, you know, we hated American cars, inverted, commas, inverted, commas.
But there was always a respect I guess for like the 60s and the fifties sixties and early seventies stuff.
Like, you know, like the guys be like, oh my dad's got this here, this this this charger with is 440 and blah, blah, blah, and and it was just not aware that, that is cool.
But an enemy, then we get back to talking about your exes.
However, the the Mystique behind behind like that era for me, like, I mean, Which we talked about like golden years before but countries like go for, you know, for Japan, late 80s, early 90s too late 90s, I suppose. You know where those that my
their most iconic cars came from and in America, for me the most iconic cars came from the sixties and early.
Seventies, I'm slightly. Yeah, yeah.
Well that I think that the oil crisis in the late 70s, absolutely rocked the American car industry that was been, Honda and Toyota are making massive inroads into their market and I feel like they may be Never really got back to the best. You know, they had little little
highlights here and there but friendly enough with electric technology, maybe maybe this is another golden year.
I like the ribbons are incredible Tesla of it killing it. So, you know, it might be a new
golden age. Yeah.
Well, let's, let's watch this space because I think, I think like, we talked, we talked about a few, a few episodes Ago by likes what we're doing. Like, you know, to turn out like
American cars in the one, the ones work that we really like, and, and There has been, as you said, like, there's been some highlights throughout the year, like, a CTS-V, you know, in a wagon is hilarious LS. Yeah.
Ell us a V8 and a 6-speed manual.
In a Cadillac is just ridiculous.
So, you know, like they've got, they've got highlights like, like that as well, and of, the modern era, but nothing like as big as that, they are from the 60s and, and like, you had like tomorrow's challenges charges cudas barracudas, you know, you name it that they had it and, and GTOs.
And stuff like that. But yeah, in terms of, in terms
of like, thinking of a thing of a car, like I was always in the cells on the same boat as you. And I'm like, I was always
either Corvette or because like, it's the American Sports Car, inverted, commas, you know, where as the Mustang was kind like a pony car. So, but probably in terms of
more being more iconic, I'd say it would be the Mustang for, you know, because everybody knows what a Mustang is interesting to see what you guys were thinking and now we'll go to complete complete other side, Germany. Instant cars.
Are you think that Like bang this, the most iconic car for you. And for me that I have to say, I
have to be probably a Porsche 911.
Like, it just, it just be. That would be the one that I
just bang like straight off. Shut off the bat.
I just think that they are. You know, just just the most
iconic like German calf and like they've been live.
Look the same for the last 120 million years.
So and you know, in terms of in terms of that hot.
Yeah, yeah it's been that long. So yeah, I think I think
probably See if you think German cars.
Very close.
Second, either any Is jimin super sedans and fives 5-series S-Class any of, that sort of stuff.
But ye know not, when I think Germany 911.
Yeah, 100%. What about where it all started?
What about the Volkswagen Beetle?
That's it. Yeah, that's true.
That's what I was thinking is my second.
What was your, what was your first go to?
Not only what it was the Porsche, I had portion my head straight away in and then Beetle on the side, bit of a pink, one side, well, you wouldn't have had the Porsche without the beetle. So, yeah, just chicken and egg
kind of statement. That isn't exactly I think, I
think German German cars are actually quite cool.
I think that they've made some really cool stuff.
Like, as you guys know, I like I'm a massive Combi van fan.
Like the I yearn to have one one day, but in terms of, in terms of being iconic, when you when you like what I think of like a comedy, but I think of like, you know, California in America, you know, like that that's that, you know, like with some with some arm circles on the roof and just, you know, P signs.
So we should which is which kind of defeats the purpose of like me. If you think straight away,
Germany, you think, Of X y&z. What about you bunting?
You, you're on the same same by with the Porsches or that's not the one that should come through us to my I think Ben's, you know, I go straight to you know, just because I was so prolific and still are, you know, I guess factors are 50, 60, 70 s 80s, benzes. You know, is my mind goes and
then you think, oh, yeah. There's Audi entire yet is
Volkswagen and then and Porsche and the more Niche Brands I suppose, but the bends is where it goes to me, and he bends particular Everyone tweet w123. Yeah, hmm.
You know you think German car W? 1 2 3.
Hmm because I added for taxis is so long, you know, just the beige beige 1232 as far as the eye can see and doors that go thunk and you know that's yeah. The German cars.
Yeah, I watch the TV show is probably about was doing lockdown and it was called those things going dark and they it's like about like it's kind of like it's a bit of a tribute to Tribute show with all different timelines and going in.
Different times and stuff. And I love the one that had the
80 because I was driving one, two, three, and one, two fours and stuff like that. I was like, ah, there's so it's.
Yeah, so great. Oh great.
So good. So so good.
Mira good Era, radio prettier for for the Germans.
What about you is you are you on board with?
Look Porsche 356. Whoo.
Yeah, that's one. And the other one that comes to
mind is an Audi 80 Quattro. Yeah.
Because That's getting more Niche.
Yeah, that's right. I like it though.
It's a story. It's a little, but it's not.
What first comes to mind? When you say German card slot?
The first one, I would think, I think of the original sort of, you know, the rally in that that car was part of.
And you know that early Quattro of sort of branding on the back of the, oh, my brother. One of the first cars that he
had was in Old Bunga, Quattro was sorry.
Audi 80, it was purchased from the same dealer.
Dave, you mentioned Out in Oakley, I think the corner of princes Highway and breaks is that that one where they, where they were just, you pay more for Reggie or whatever was on top, but that was sort of my first experience to the German luxury.
I'm 1994 H d8 in the year 2011, but yeah, they bit of an icon in My mind anywhere but Porsche 356, yeah, nurse.
Yeah, choose. Good choice about getting closer
today. Italy.
Now, this one for me is easy. I know what I'm picking, but
I'll see what if you guys pick the same one.
What's up? Scotty Scotty.
What do you think of you think telling comes Ferrari straightaway? Okay.
Well, they made so many other ones that aren't thinking of now, but for some reason, it's Ferrari straightaway.
Iconic would be F40. Hmm.
Good choice. You guys are going for
heavy-hitting I think playing Jay, and I think sort of, I'm with you. I mean, I went straight to Hell
from my own straight 280, SL from my own good, red, red ones, all. That's just a good man.
Ladies rate, 80 gev. That's what I think about.
Every every car, I'm thinking of Italy's already my head, it's great in my head. Is everyone ready my head?
Well, the reason why I'm coming up with coming up with this topic was because one of my students, when you told you she got me a gifted as she was As she was on her last day.
And this was, this was this last Friday and she got me a model scale, model of a particular car, which I absolutely adore.
And I would love to get one one day over.
Original cinquecento Fiat 500. Yeah, and not for me, just
personifies Italy. Like that is just the sort of
thing that is in a nutshell. It's the small little Straits.
Cafes Fiat 500s. That's that for me is just like
perfect. Yeah.
So it don't mean that's it. That that could Because it's on
my list. So I can say you know I want to
get one day it's going to happen but yeah, question cinquecento Jihad. They just so they just so cool.
What were ya version of the cinquecento?
That had the no doors and the Wicca seats?
It was used for a guy. Yeah.
What's that? Jolly the Jolly.
That's a jolly we talked about it at work today and I said they've got a name. I can't remember but I know
they've got a name. Yeah, I've got it.
Make that an artist and he Paints in this league sits on a chair and paints views and things and but he's a huge car guy and he knew I loved little cars and especially chin crescendos, were always been a favorite and he sent me a was there for three months and he sent me.
This is how long ago was the CD wrong with pictures and it was just a planet planet cinquecento written on it, and I reckon there with 300 photos on it of fee. 500 in their natural
habitat. So all one being used our part
under trees, squeezed into garages.
You know, for four and five people climbing in and out of them, you know, interpret things.
It's just brilliant. So whatever you want, one
afternoon's, entertainment venue, perchik we change.
Did he take all those photos? Yeah.
Yeah. He took to come on.
Well, you see, there's a copyright on that.
You might be able to blow some of those up.
There might look like glue. Yes, you can see my little girl,
she's Italian. She loves her Italian Heritage
and stuff and you know she's obsessed with the small cars.
She wants original Mini but she loves her idea for you to a folio for was photographing, Europeans influence on Melbourne culture. So she went to like lygon and
London Street and Carlton and and was taking photos of like you know Vespers and there was a she took a lovely, you know.
You're cut out little photo with it's real.
Nice crop photo over the Fiat 500 and choose from one of the final pieces and I don't like this that personifies exactly what you're saying, you know, like that, that, that Coffee Culture that as you would say mister mister mister mister was the the little coffees of the world.
Geographically in the wrong place.
Ha ha ha. When you cast a new council is
meaning they'll burn. I'm there is like 70 French
million come here, or anyone in my friends at work in Melbourne, really, a new Castle has become many Melbourne.
Yeah, it's time we coffees. Okay there, we could go.
The can't we the coffee's sensationally?
The problem we have is, there's too much.
Fantastic coffee is like to challenge to go work out where you going to go too much choice. That's also a good thing because
it's so competitive and it's always great to have you been.
Yeah I am. I'm a local.
But yeah. I've spent like a lot of time in
Melbourne and I absolutely adore it if it wasn't for the weather.
I'd live there. Yes.
Going back to the Italian cars. Piaggio pay or ape is the car
that comes to my mind because Piaggio Vespa 's and yeah just that sort of card is still being used everywhere for victuals and whatever else did I actually just want to go to Italy just just to see them in real life like Isis in see them in their natural habitat. As you said they would like I
just want to go there and to sit at Potential little cafe.
Having a having a little drink and watching, watching a Fiat, 500 is pull up and running to be like you know, this is my life is complete now like this. This is this is pretty amazing.
Yeah. Yeah.
Out of Florence. There's actually a rental
company where you can rent food, original fence.
I'll see you. Okay, I'm doing that.
Yeah, yeah. I'll pay someone to my rent, my
rented. It's the parking in front of the
camera so I can watch it. I'll be a happy, man.
What about you? I don't know.
You you on board with the Fiat 500 or you know?
No, i'm-i'm-i'm me Scotty. I lived.
When you say Italy, my brain just goes Ferrari which Terraria like obviously. Look, lovely are 40 but I'm I'm
actually a big fan of the Testarossa.
I just it was remember I remember my auntie when I would have been three or four years old, she bought me both this enormous like the making of Testarossa Book and the matching Dyke past Karma. The diecast cars is like quite
well detailed. And I used to spend so much
time, just pulling the diecast car apart, and putting it all back together and just studying that book.
I mean, I'm sure I still have that book somewhere but yeah, Testarossa for me. I and obviously the popular
opinion is it has to be red but I personally there's like a dark steel blue colored one and my still be on Cast Sales and it's got a black leather interior. Yeah.
And I'm like that is like if we driven ever makes money and buying one of those that's it's about.
Twenty fifth on the list of cars, and I'll be buying but yeah it's always going to have a Ferrari, that's it.
But insane. Yeah, like a Fiat 500 doesn't
get much more iconic as those things are.
Just they're incredible. I'm a big fan of those.
Speaking of speaking of iconic, small cars, I let us to France and I think they've got some really iconic smokers but they also got some iconic, big cars. To in the form of form of like,
your Citroen DS has and and, and what, what do you think of Matt?
When you, when you set, when you save the Friars?
What do you think of? It's a tie.
I'm going to tie. So it's either a 205 GTI or a
Citroen DS. Like it's been for me it's
Citroen DS. If I had to pick the pick one on
one of the one of the two. If I think more iconic French
cards so that I go, I go to c.v. more than yeah.
We need think we did. Two iconic and friends.
Yeah, that's what came straight to my mind, PCV.
Yep. See ya.
Is this something bad? It's just, it is so French.
It's like, it's a car that you can't have just like, you know, how basic it is. And, you know, it's, there's not
really a lot of it. However, it's just so
unanimously. Cool.
Like, there's like a phenotype. You it's just unanimously cool
that it just personify. Sighs everything about that
culture. Yeah, I love that.
It's so French. Was it makes no sense at the
same time as making complete another sense.
Absolutely. Yeah.
I was, as we said, I was just in France and to give you a snippet of what I saw over there. I'm quite a few to sieve.
He's still in Countryside, in France, many running a still running around a hell of a lot of or not, a hell of a lot, but quite a few renter are fours getting around, which we never got near it. She'll be I don't think which
actually sold more than two seavey's.
Yeah. And and, and quite a lot of
reckon 05 switch. We never got here officially.
So those were the three sort of Classics that I store.
A lot of. I saw a couple the DS's but you
don't see them out every day. You know, that wasn't easy.
He's never know cause we're sort of parked here and park there and you know, normal but the majority of stuff on the road.
Certainly in the country areas a I would say the French are very patriotic. There's not a lot of And English
there are hard but there's not a lot of them 90% of stuff on the road. He's French.
I saw more than T is and Zara's than I've ever seen and there's a hell of a lot of 90s and 2000's stuff still battling battling around Leo's bucket loads.
Yeah and it'll Renault twingo who's that.
We never got here. But everywhere, you know today
today I have some sort of like a tax break for growing local cars. Like they are ridiculous luxury
car. The only ones I don't know
either. They're just very patriotic or
there is something like that, you know, playing into it but you know we were driving an Audi wagon and we were sort of a rarity you know the cars in particularly and we're in the country areas, French French, French, French French you know, yeah, well kangaroos I've seen so many winner can Google delivery Vans because what they don't have is is Utes, there's no use, you know, I mean, I saw 15 exposure 50 for you to that was incredibly rare but the Majority of people are driving around in little ish, cars and all French, foolish, cars or
French SUVs. Sort of things.
But there's no Utes in the way you get a, you know, dual cab here. Like it doesn't exist.
I'm not Touring that. They have a lot of those early
2000s Cleo's like we got here, like, oh yeah, in Australia, but they were nothing. So they did.
A lot of French stuff funnily enough in France.
I know she loves it cause I feel for the remnants of some French cars and they all beat me in the massively, 206 GTI 180 which was the worst driving position of any kind of ever ever been in.
I only bought it because like they couldn't get Clio RS.
Yes, for months. I had to buy a car.
So I just went over. This is nearly the same thing.
It's not the same thing. And I've had a couple is at 65
and 65 in both, which is like, amazing, a drive in a nightmare to own. Yeah, so yeah.
No. I, uh, I remember sitting in a
206 GTI not a 180 but the because you could get that was like the camel. I think a little bit later.
Yeah. And the seat would like the back
of them was like tilted that way.
Almost like it was weird. Kind of kind of?
Yeah I couldn't. I couldn't get.
So if my if my hands and arms were comfortable my like mention it to my chin and that's the foot, they would like that.
So I get like shin splints. There's my feet were folded back
on themselves and then it's like my legs were right?
I could barely reach the steering wheel and there was no way around it. I looked at steering all spaces
but then that has their bag implications and just a nightmare and then it got it, got it, got flooded in and actually had an accident a guy lost control.
All on it to avoid him. I had hit a wall and then there
was a problem with the insurance payout, and when that was in limbo, we had massive floods in here in Newcastle.
And I got flooded and I never got the insurance payout, so ended up with like 20 grand with the debt flooded old Persian.
They've got the money for it. So if you want to go, I think,
at the time it had to go to the Ombudsman, sort out, what was going on with this insurance. And then, because it's in the
on, Well, apparently, when it comes to be a bucket under investigation by the own, the ombudsman, the insurance doesn't doesn't count or something. So, yeah, we got flooded is this
what within almost days of all this happened?
And and yeah, there's no insurance on the car when it flooded so I was 20 something thousand in the hole.
So yeah, and yet I bought a Renault not long enough for us.
I mean that was that was fun to drive.
The reason why you need to go because you still in the office.
Thanks John. Thanks for joining on and we'll
talk to you soon. Thanks very much, Steve chance.
See you mate Maris will move on then to Japan.
Isn't that is the big one. I can just one kiss one.
Another like because it Japan, there is so many iconic cars that it's kind of hard to pick from us.
As we mentioned earlier, Japan's, Golden Era.
Where would your money go and wear?
What would you say? Okay, this is the most iconic
Japanese car that you could you could possibly get How long do I just think of Corollas? Really.
Yeah, he's got to a girl, you know, it's not really where my money would go with that. That's what I think of what.
But is it iconic enough though that it would like is it is it as iconic as let's say 80%. Oh I don't think it is.
I mean, it's the most sold car ever.
I think, isn't it? I think it is.
You become an international Konya by as it becomes sort of, it's so huge. I'm not sure if I'm my friends
and the complete non-car people. I don't know who would even
associate the crawler to Japan necessarily.
They just almost like Toyota has its own country.
Yeah. 2000 JT.
Yeah, but just iconic to Japan itself.
I'm saying it and go with it NSX.
I want to say I've 34 GTR, but I'm just thinking, I think NSX.
Hmm. Well, I think it is like spits,
Julia. I just think it like later, gee,
I think like 32 GDI, just because of the pedigree, the racing pedigree, it's the Godzilla nameplate and everything that that that came with it, if that's a good lesson. Great point mean.
Yeah I'm going to change another 32 JDRF.
Is that is the car that before then there was the jet crap kind of attitude and 32 just came on and what the flow is everything that we could possibly make to the point where they had to put ballast in them, to try to slow them down this and yeah, yeah, I think of that. Yeah, I tried to stay clear from
Scotland because in some way to Skyline Fanboy as it is.
But but you're right, I'm I mean there wasn't too much until they just hit the scene and not just in Japan but into all the racing Market specialist rally. I'm massively when that 32t are
dropped. We actually got versions of it
here to buy industry to. Yeah.
Delivered ones to go with it. We did.
I think that just changed the look of Technology over outright power. Hmm.
Didn't feel like it was almost the Catalyst to again you know my generation there was a very, very much a quasi V8 versus import scene or you are either one or the other wasn't forward with holding companies in Eurovision.
I feel like that was the argument.
Liza. And my laser was too late on and
I pulled up behind a VZ Commodore SS Commodore and it had on the back, on the back of the window, only, I need milk and I think orange juice is said, come into laters.
Yeah, I just saw him. Like, you made me feel so less
of a man right now. This is what's the counter to
that, though because only cheap wine comes in 5 L.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tonight, that is definitely feeling that Commodore versus not Commodore fire. We did a top five overrated
tuner cars tonight and spoiler alert in fifth place, is a commodore, but a very specific sort of commodore.
But yeah, I'm waiting to waiting to get my desk rips through the mail the next couple of days. How dare you say?
Also I ever going to be creating some controversy Receipts.
And again, we're not, my was not my personal opinion.
That was the culmination of a whole bunch of people that put this together. So, yeah, yeah laughter.
I'm gonna watch that now. Yeah, I'll check that out.
Yeah, so David Japan for you, what would be the most?
Like there's so many choices. I mi mi cuenta que cars but
outside Japan that well is do David.
I'm very biased. That's why it's been very quiet
and and not putting it out there.
But I think from a from a very Vehicle point of view.
I think Kate trucks are up there those little.
Now the Americans they were importing them over there.
Now is second hand cars. You know the Japanese always
been really good at miniaturization and I think there's something about a k truck.
That says, well that's got to be Japanese, you know, like they're, they're ridiculously small but incredibly practical and and yeah, I mean, there they sell.
Millions of them a year over there.
They're everywhere. You look there's millions of
people over there and anyone if you ever say one you just takes me back to looking at them out of the bullet, train in the rice paddies and just all over the place like ants, they have great little things. The same breath is Toyota
Corolla, I think Honda Civic now that they're in 12th generation, you know like from from the last 50 years.
Years with no, that's 50 years of Automotive History and I think in some ways to I don't know, get on might just be bit biased, but I think people have more affection for Honda Civics than carollers. I think Corollas are very
useful, Appliance very reliable, very practical, all of those things. But, I see more people enthused
about old Honda Civics that they've owned or they have known some of the toned one, or they learn to driving one or those sorts of Is the Naidu Kroll was but yeah, that had a great, it's a great characters, the morning. And I've always kind of that,
you know, the more Enthusiast choice I suppose in terms of his, yeah, yeah, driver's car. But for me, I'm going to go bit
left field here because this one car was sold virtually everywhere was the Mazda RX-7, and it was rotary powered and America, you race them, we race them race all over the world.
Old, what very successful race car, very, but when you think of like you think of rotary, if you don't think of where it originated from you think of how Japan master?
And I think the RX-7 in general, like a nice, any stage of it, I think it's probably the most, like, for me most iconic Japanese car because it's, it's everything about Japanese, that makes sense. It's it's, you know, cute size
precise, instrument tool, you know, it does everything really well when it works because it's a really, but it's just, it's just yeah, it's made. To be to be, to be to be that.
And, and the Japanese have always been very good at doing things like that. And I think taking things out
that don't normally work and making him.
The work is something that that the Japanese have been synonymous for making making things reliable, and and work.
So I think they are except for me would be the most iconic, of course. It's can't with now it was we're
going to, you've got to go. So we'll get into the jump
straight into the quiz. Then yeah, we're going to film a
few countries to go which will which will get to eventually but Basically, we'll get into the car quiz.
Now, now Adam, you were part of the quiz last time.
Yes. But you managed to go quite
well. You did all right, we nearly got
me, nearly got him. So you know the rules, it's ten
questions, plus some bonus questions.
You just yell at yelled to buzz in with your name and then we will go from there. So we've got David Scotty and
and and all in the in the hot seat today.
Okay. So, Question 1.

to use them and continue with the program after they found them a bit too big to drive. What country wasn't gonna be
good guess? Hmm.
Was it CG incorrect? It said the UK incorrect.
Let's go. It's got India incorrect, but
it's a tricky question, but, you know, if you get it at a mall, give you 10 points out of that saying because I think what's going to mix? The cocoa mix using correct?
It was Hong Kong Hong Kong. Try to imagine going to Hong
Kong and seen a That question for the current Dodge Charger, share some underpinnings with what car?
No think about who they were affiliated with.
Might help Adam, Adam You're like a minute and some sort like an A-Class. Yeah, absolutely.

It's correct. They've got a massive warranty
department that is one hell of a brand list.
And so they've got sold here in Australia during its time on during its third generation onwards in the market, we received this vehicle until its sixth generation initially in our Market, receiving a V6, powering the front wheels.
This was the it was only available here in Australia with an automatic however, worldwide with a 5-speed manual available in two specs M&T, I ate it, mrs. Maximum Nissan, Maxima is

It would well done. Let's go check, Edward three,
David one, Scotty .5 David yet to score David man.
What's going on? Bonus question?
What was the engine size of the first generation that?
We received it, Ed 3, litre V6, it was a L V6.
Well them question 7. What car holds the record of the
fastest accelerating four seater car with a combustion engine Adam Adam that Koenigsegg not much Jessica, what's it called?
Now desolate three-cylinder engine.
The hybrid it, seriously? Yeah, yeah, it's got three
seats. Yeah, it's a good cleaning, it's
obviously not correct. But it's the for see, the
Koenigsegg it's not the Jesco it's like I know what it's called but like a kind of guy but yeah they're claiming under two seconds. There are 109, second quarters
and stuff can use a camera one point.
Nine seconds is the world's fastest quickest production, colleague zero to sixty one point nine seconds.
Yeah, it is, it is it. Yeah, what's the photo?
And it's not a four-door, it's got four states, four seats?
Yeah, yeah. Well you might be right because
like I'm trying. To find, like I found the thing.
I was looking at, but it might have just been, might have been beating the information about becoming was probably wrong, so we'll scrub that question. Don't worry about it that way.
But yeah, it's a good mirror horsepower 420 Mega GT and yet 0 to 60 to 1 Point 9 seconds. Oh my God.
Okay. It is four seats.
Yeah, there you go. The very first four seater car.
Yep. There you go.
That's been powered by a mild hybrid.
Well done. Well, I was looking for just
plain combustion, but I guess that is technically still got a combustion engine. So, I guess you're right.
I'll give you the point. Yes.
Well done buddy. It was the GTR like the last
edition of it. So, oh, that was because it's
been obviously surpassed they are back to the drawing board.
Yeah, back to the drawing board. Mrs. Are going to be happy
question. 8. The before the line appeared on
a Holden badge. What was used prior to that?
For the line on the homepage was it was it was it.
Oh God no David no I hate it was like a shield products like some sort of a Viking thing or something.
Yeah. Two sides of this shield with.
Yeah. I'll pay it.
It's it was a winged worker kneeling in front of its Factory. Yeah.
That's that's what it was and I can see the wings.
In the back like the shield kind of kind of thing y'all paying that David Wong. question 9, the word Mazda is derived from the
zuhr Starion, term ahura Mazda, which means what There is no liable, but really good car. Unless our anniversary powered.
Oh, where's mr. Day when I hang on, it does it
mean light? No, it doesn't, it doesn't
correct. Now that's Luce that means like
which you there was something about like something.
However, guess David, David got something to do with cork indeed. It doesn't, that's what you're
famous for, but it's, that's what they do.
No idea, it means god of life is what it is, what it means think and you can I don't know how that relates the cars or cork but we'll we'll go with it. Question 10 the Hyundai i30 in
dual-clutch. Its transmission features.
How many ratios? Adam Adam seven incorrect.
Hey, wait. Correct, well done, and And that
is the car quiz tonight. Genuine score check, Scotty .5,
David one, atom onto and tonight's winner on five is mr.
Edward, but he's back in the game.
Well I was away. Who is winning?
I said, seven but given seven was wrong and had to kind of be able to many more years. Can you fit in a day?
Yeah, yeah it's actually it's actually good thing that that is amazing. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah I do I
did a heap of work for n and we had a full day at Queensland.
Raceway is like 42 degrees that day and absolutely literally abused by 2930 ends and the couple of kona ends around the track. Not a problem.
He did change tires and brake, pads a few times, but cooking temperatures didn't move. It was just there will take an
immense beating and that's, that's a real Testament to them, really isn't it? Because like they've, they've
got like a truck warranty which is unheard of like you can write, yeah, take it to a contract, beat the absolute living shit out of it and bring it back.
Yeah, be fine. If you guys don't tell you guys
off the air but the amount of path.
Our that little to the engine can produce while still being reliable is crazy, but that but they'll never do never release anything like that. But yeah, those are want to
modify it. Wow, that is a go for main
engines. Yeah, it's yeah.
And the done it. Like the guys and Sydney have
punished those engines and they can produce some crazy power.
Yeah. So you obviously did a lot of
work for n. Did they really Go to deal with
in terms of like phenomenal. Not only not only he and I as a
company but the owners so the owners I was like, it was like an end, a festival scene and the owners are just the most lovely humble, like there's no ego. That's one of the best owners
groups I've ever dealt with. They're just like honestly, you
great, great, bunch of humans and it like those they had 29 30 and sorry is press cars. It always, really enjoyed them,
couple of friends on them. They've never really been in the
community. And after, and after that
experience, what a great bunch of people.
And also key of the same, like, every time we have a kieron, actually the key, the singer GT, we had on re driven the guy that lenses that is like the head of the owners group or kind of the fan club again, right. Bunch of the people really,
really good. Yeah, excellent.
Really surprised which says a lot about them because like I've been to some events and some other things with other owners groups have been there. They've just been complete Cox
like they've just been well, absolutely not, not with not with a Hyundai or kia. I liked everything has been
great. The ones.
All right. Yeah.
Okay. Robbie comes, it comes and show
a lot. He's got a, how to hit a
modified w108 Mercedes with a barrier turbo, and at any party, or some Epoch next at least two women, and they pretty much on movie car with we don't go nowhere.
So he's like, I'll show you guys, you parked right opposite of Pop these Bonnet and he got all the attention.
They got nothing, and then they will draw.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
So yeah. So yeah, it was, it was one of
those. It was like, I was like, I was
like, I felt bad because I own my own a car at that, that's what year we We reach, end owners groups on every video.
You got to get in. Sorry, sorry, that's okay.
You guys keep looking. I gotta run.
Talk to me with every single car we review of and quite often.
A lot of the calls we get are from owners groups and they're always open to what I'm about to tell you.
So helpful, and just so great with advice and even getting cars. Are we get off?
Its only cars and put it out to a known as group that will remain nameless. And I've never copped so much
backlash. Like doing what how much you're
paying us to feature the car. What, how do you expect us to
give a car for free? We should be going harms and the
revenue stream from the entire Channel.
What about just? Just like a barrage of abuse and
insane. That we've got a couple of
offers from that owners group for the cars and we're going to feature that car. But I'll be bringing it up in
the video. But wow, I've never ever
experienced such Aggression, like absolute just tearing it to shreds. Like, we're trying to feature
your card. Yeah anyway, yeah, besides that
everyone, we've dealt with so far has been great but I had Advanced mate. Yeah, I hear.
There's been a bunch of brands. Are some of the owners can be
decades? Yeah.
Yeah, if you want to test my car I want to have your revenue streams I want. Yeah.
Yeah, but one school, just some call it square and I'll take some of the revenue off this podcast and we should leave.
It won't be much likewise though.
It's interesting to see like how good how you doing.
I would love to personally drive a and I-20 Γ± iΓve seen in one and I really like it. And like I've got a Fiesta ST.
And a guy came in In to come into a place where I work on the weekends and and he's like, oh, who has the fierce?
Oh my God, he's like, we got talking here and I 2010 and, and, and he loves it. He reckons, it's the best best
thing since sliced bread. And I'm like, yeah I can see why
like they, you know, they they get a, they get a great rap and yeah man I had a I had a Fiesta ST and to decide between 1920, and PST is literally flipping a coin.
Yeah, they're both there. But I would hate to have to
choose. I'd buy and I-20 and only
because I've already under the Fiesta ST.
But I Another piastres a in a heartbeat.
Yeah, but it's great by Sensational cars.
Yeah. Yeah.
I've never had a single bad thing about an I-20 and like, I've done it. I did tons of research and and,
and the comparisons between those two always.
And it's, it's, yeah, the I-20 is just just brilliant.
Brilliant. Brilliant little car and
therefore, the first one in the same boat is as well, but I've always had a soft spot and David as and Ed on the show as well for the disease with sport. I think that this is easy.
Yes, little thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Value for money to like cracking value for money that car, I understand. That's, that's also an elusive
people. You've been thinking of the Kia
Rio, it would probably be the Suzuki Swift Sport and it's a touch more money but definitely worth it.
Yeah, they're all good. Yeah, so good.
Fun to drive really and yeah, just yeah, really, really cracking car. Nice car to school, we have.
Yeah, we we do want to show what's called what would you rather is? And we always give like a few
had your if it was your money would you pick a ask this question? But I'm going to show you I 20
en Fiesta ST. Polo GTI or Super Sport and
Scotty Scotty my for the I-20 and throughout the way he's like, yep, I 20m race-ready car. You can just take it and flog it
and enjoy it. But but I David you and I you
and Ed. Will I call on all on the Swift
rain. Absolutely.
Yep, that our goats go sweet. So yeah, I love cars in that in
that, in that little segment. I think that thing that I think
that with, they should be more and they dying and it's and yeah, the Fiesta ST is done. So, yeah, it's just really I-20
n or that's that that's my favorite genre of car.
But yeah, I did see like small, talk e, fun, little hot.
Spector had that hot hatches are the small ones.
Dad said stem. That's my, that's my favorite.
The, I'd have that over any Supercar, probably.
When I said, I'll see you in a new Fiesta ST.
Drug past form I-20 and passed on my, um, my next training this. See it - it's not quite brave
enough to take a Canto, GT4 drive, it's great.
We have one, we have one of the channels actually Sam hour.
It's his girlfriend class car and it's fantastic, such a great manual. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
First because it might be, I don't have the room for another car in my driveway. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I've been interested stand up a counter and a few friends of mine of War began to GT lines or not and they absolutely adore them they think they yes. So like cracking car to drive
and I'm the one I went in. It was just like it's like a
standard one was and I'm like this thing's fantastic.
Like it drives well and it handles well and it rides nice and I like yeah this is it I can see why they're saying a little bit. Kantos because they're actually
they're cracking little thing. I'm surprised he and I think he
don't spend more money on marketing how much time and money. They put into tuning, the ride
handling and steering for Australian conditions because it's amazing what they do. I think just suspension is just
not a sexy thing to talk about. But it is the fundamental How a
car behaves and then, yeah, they do such a great job like that.
Yeah, I'm not getting paid by hand a okay.
I just, I know from experience that everything those guys are doing at the moment is just top-notch, however, going in a, in, in re he suffers Jurado, like the current model Cerrado and that drove so nice. Like this is where you're at the
suspension like the like the way it looked like the damper the dampening on that car was fantastic and he's like he's like you should drive some of their other Ducks and yeah like and I remember seeing you know, Australian tuned suspension for showing conditions and not many companies.
Do that Norman are coming in so many countries.
Have a teammate here to say, okay, yeah, I zeros are bloody terrible. We're going to make sure that we
do that. We do you know, spending for
them and and I challenge you was like if you go for drop tomorrow, right? Just watch over like it.
Like a Christian, a bump, the car that you see, like today 95% of SUVs and they'll be all over the road, like they, they do healing and they don't be. We'll be behind like a like a
like and I 30 and I'm job doing many of the current show by 30, I've driven by me two or three of them actually and they ride superbly and they don't yet they feel.
So they feel planted. They don't feel all over the
road. The damping is good.
And after one down the Great Ocean Road, she's probably Been a Good Year and a bit ago now, and it was fantastic.
And I, yeah, this is, and it was just not even, not even any, which is the standard one. Yeah, now they do.
It's not only the, not only did I suppose, As the conditioning for Australian roads is also the way we drive and expect our cars Foreman handle. So it's the steering feel like
they take me to the calibration test steering.
Feel in the end models. It's just like my new little
details and it got to make such a difference because Australians have a particular way that we like to cut a responded handle and it's different everywhere else and they just yeah, they do again. I know.
I keep saying it for, they're just such a fantastic job.
If you can the to that you have to try, even if it means nearly And you've got to go drive around 85 and they in an EV 6.
They are phenomenal. Absolutely incredible cars.
This is short. Ribs are gone.
Yeah. Resist.
Yeah, because I'm a guy and he worked for the driven.
A lot of you have heard of them, but he's always on.
Yeah, that would have been pretty full-on driving stuff and I just Don't leave how right?
That Tower is such a great thing.
Yeah. And the range is quite good in
them to write like they like they do.
Yes, I've 5520, like, I should know this stuff.
But yeah, it's really good, really good.
What gets me is like the whole range anxiety thing.
Like most people drive, 30, 40, case a day, like 20 cases.
Yeah, from work. Yeah, that off the whole week.
That's still not more than 40 gays, you know?
Like, that's, you know, and you know, like, around 10:00 it.
It makes sense, you know to yeah.
Yeah. Where we were shooting was
familiar to savor were shooting anyway, we're shooting very far away from any charge stations and it was extremely enthusiastic driving and again I just, you know, planning forward gain K. This is how much, how much juice
or how much power electricity were using?
We just need to be aware, you know?
Is not that big a deal. No, I'm a big fan of what Karen,
and how you, and I are doing. But I also think well, I think,
I think they're two car companies.
Well, the technique one car company, really, but their companies that, you know, really kind of focusing on the fuselage, probably resolve stock for a burden on and I'm having this discussion about liking a car brands, going forward, and like the top 10 this year, we said it's going to be a massive shake up next year. Come to something.
Like it's just going to be y d. You can see Tesla.
You got to get all these companies that that have like, you know, giving what what you know what the future is and what the people are saying to, what I can deliver cars, like it like it. That's a big thing.
Well, you know, there's not like a two-year.
Wait, like there is a certain cars like that about?
You know, it's going to be shaking like MJ's is going to be our young people. They're going to be Staple in
there. Like, it's just, it's just gonna
happen. And, and they it's because I can
deliver cars and, and they giving what people are wanting.
And I think a lot of companies are a bit Arrogance, in terms of its I think they stand a product.
They can't products going to sell because it's just, it's just not. Yeah, totally agreement.
Yep, it's good. Yeah, it's good.
We need a shake-up. Oh my God.
Laughing, good destruction. Absolutely.
Yeah, it's like it was It's kind of just shake up this to CEO, who's actually going with the times and who's actually, I thought ahead and and stuff. So yeah, it's interesting like
we were talking a few weeks ago and David is going to remember this because we were talking about like, you know, forward as a company like they're pretty much done like unless it's all this range of doesn't Lestrange a complete stop selling like they don't really have anything else that that people really want. Yeah, it's it's really sad you
know because that they're not advertising anything else that they did have and and what when what they were selling you know most part pretty good but it's You know, know that hardly anybody knew that was an updated Fiesta ST?
How the anybody new? You know, there was all these
different, these different things that that the were, and that they were there. And now they're all gone.
And it's sad. Yes.
We're talking about what you see in the Ford, dealerships in the showrooms now. Yeah, hmm, right.
Mustang Ranger. That's yeah, that's it.
It's a classic example of the massive huge companies and they can't move dynamically, you know, to release a That's years and years and years of development.
And that's you can billions and billions of dollars, whereas you get a company that's built, a bit more on a tech company.
Based, just like the Tesla's, all these, the Chinese companies, they're far more dynamic, they can, they can move quicker with the tyrants, so it's, yeah, they have.
Yeah, bit more Firepower in different directions.
Well, this was telling us about byd like two years ago like he's like it's like be what they are like the biggest company you've never heard of and they are coming to try and they're going to dominate. And we were like, okay, raise
your righto mate and it's now two years later and they're selling cars are front and center.
And you know, there's there's they're just getting the stock antenna. Moving them.
Yeah. It's I like you and I like a
shake-up and I think it's going to be a big wake-up call to some of the traditional brands that we patio.
So, Adam said yeah, watch this space.
But generally, I think that's a podcast for tonight, amazing?
Yep. Right.
