out with Cameron chaoson ABB. Hey, guys, look came quick

right car Seasons upon us. I told you guys that

a lot of shows we're gonna start popping up, and if you didn't know, you definitely want to be out the one today out at Lanstown Commons.

Speaker 3: For the Georgie Smith Memorial Car Show.

Speaker 2: They're having a flea market out there full of my last time it was really cool. I had a lot

of car and nostalgia stuff, and so if you're looking for some wall hangers for your garage or whatever, definitely come out there, say hi to with one of you guys are out there. I'm gonna try scoop some stuff

up myself. So yeah, it's really kicking out. The list

is getting along of all the different car shows that are going on. I start plugging things into calendars, a

lot of cover up stuff when I mean cover up things.

See two car shows two different locations, same day. So

we try to figure out how we're gonna do all that.

I appreciate all the invites people are sending us, a lot different stuff and ascents. We're gonna be this, We're

gonna be that. I am trying to get out to

as much stuff as we can. But as I told

you guys, there's so much stuff going on it is hard to beat everything. So pay attentions. See where we're

gonna be and meet up with the stuff that we go to, or go to your own thing whatever. Just

be there there be in the moment, enjoy the car.

Hey update on white Noise if you don't know what white noise is, because just tune in the radio station.

White Noise is our sixty nine Nova SS that we are building. So I went with everybody's suggestions. Like I said,

we kind of took a poll and I told you guys, we decided to white and black everything out. Uh trim

is now being blacked out. Now, bumpers are at the

powder coder being blacked out. Door handles came in. Looked

absolutely awesome. The hood pins came in, the side panels,

lens covers, moldings and bezzles all came in. They're all

blacked out for us, so they all look pretty cool.

One of the things I don't know and my ass put out to you guys, is so I was looking for black bezzels for the back tail lights and looks like nobody makes them. So if I want them, I

have to have those blacked out too and powder coated.

Y'all think out powder code them. When we think we

ought to just kind of leave them power court them, I think powder coat them out black now of things, And if anybody has one, hit me up. So the

SS panel that's on the back of our car, if you guys don't know, the repops are plastic and I want the I've heard have the metal one and ours is not in very good shape.

Speaker 3: So I'm going to need one.

Speaker 2: So if you got one laying around and you want to part ways with it nineteen sixty nine SS Nova back rear tail panel for where the SS goes And you know, you guys know what I'm talking about. You

got one laying around, you know, somebody does wants to let go of it for a decent price, and I do know what they're going for. So yeah, that's why

I say decent price. Let me know, so we can

go ahead and snatch that up. Get on the car.

I really don't want to put a plastic RePOP on it.

I really rather put the metal on it.

Speaker 4: But which Finny Like, once you put a plastic one on it, you know, then everybody knows that you just kind of did like a red people.

Speaker 2: Okay, So I went back and forth with this, and I was talking on the form in the Nova form and stuff, and everybody's like, look, if you're not doing a full course restoration card, it don't really matter. Just

put the plastic one on it calling day and I'm like, I got you. But if I can find a nice

metal one, still want it original put it back on the car because my front headlight bezels are the original to the car. The trim that's on the car is

all original to the car. Now keep in mind, I'm

having it blacked out, and I know that's going to aggravate some of you guys because some of you guys are traditionalists. But i want the car to be blacked out.

So I'm blacking out all the trim on it. And

never been a big chrome fan, huh. Now you know

what I'm not.

Speaker 3: I'm just not.

Speaker 2: I'm not a stainless steel fan. I'm not. Well you

know what, so we got you guys know, we have the Chevy truck, and the Chevy truck has stainless the trim on it everywhere and it is coming off. I'm

just not. I'm not that. I'm not a fan of it.

I don't like it like our our our Chevy truck has it up and around the wheel wells and it's got around the back bumper area and it's all say.

Speaker 5: Digging the trim that took most of that away. There's

some stuff that you couldn't get, you know, replace wise.

Speaker 2: But now I can do something and I just don't think I want to spend the money, right, So there is and I looked at doing it on the trans ND because you guys know the transam has stainless steel goes around the windows as well.

Speaker 5: I think you should.

Speaker 3: So I still, well, here's one of the things.

Speaker 2: Okay, they make a flush mount kit for the windshield which just puts them and it lays up on the paint and it's flush and gets rid of all the trim.

Speaker 3: But they're not really cheap.

Speaker 2: And it's like, when I say they're not cheap, I think they're like twenty two hundred bucks and to me that I don't think that's very cheap for what it is.

Speaker 3: I mean, it's a rubber gas.

Speaker 2: It lays flat, but it gets rid of this metal trim and it does look cleaner. It's a cleaner instant, right.

And I thought about doing it on the train and ZAM, but I was like, okay, do I really want to do on the Transjam And then I looked. I was like, well,

I guess I could get one for the Nova and put it on it. I don't know. I'm going to

go with black and the trim out first and see and see how I like that. And if I don't,

I mean to tell you. I went as far as

the vent windows, I bought new moldings for it, so the stainless steel moldings go around it, and I'm having those blacked out too, and then sliding the glass back into them, just because I want everything to kind of.

Speaker 3: Look the way it is. So like I said, you guys,

tell me what you guys think, I don't know.

Speaker 2: I've taken a lot of suggestions from people, and people say, oh, I do this, I do that, and some things seem a little quirky to me.

Speaker 3: I still haven't figured out wheels.

Speaker 2: I might leave the steel wheels are on it right the second and just lower the car down of those and leave them for a little bit, maybe just spray them out and freshen them up and just kind of leave.

And I can really decide, because I think I told you guys, I'm like, I don't know if I want a mini tub it or do a full tub on it.

So I really like to put a really underneath it now.

And it has the biggest tire and wheel set up underneath it right the second. It's already got a drag

slick on it, but it's underneath a stock set up and it looks pretty mean. It looks beefy on it.

But I know, I think I want to go something.

But I think if I lower the car down on what's someone on there right now, it'll have a nice look for right this second.

Speaker 3: So I really truly decide what I want to do.

The problem with.

Speaker 2: It is is to be honest with you guys, and everybody's been giving me, you know, a lot of flak I'm building this car.

Speaker 3: The real problem with it for me is.

Speaker 2: Is I'm really trying to just get the car out on the road, and you guys know, you guys listen to the show long enough. You guys know, I go

down rabbit holes and before I know it would have that whole car blown apart, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5: But there are some things that we can't do piece by piece there once we get it.

Speaker 2: Back, absolutely, you're right, So there's things that could be done piece by piece. I did notice that the other

day when I was over there. Uh, I don't know,

I'm thinking disassembly or sitting. There's a little crack in

the dash and it didn't have that before. So when

I first looked at the car with one of the first things I looked at it, but I see there's there is one. I know it's going to drive me

nuts not to have it, but it's not something that keeps the car from driving right. So, but I'm real

stickular on interiors being spread around.

Speaker 3: It before instead it didn't have it.

Speaker 2: I didn't see it before at all, but the cars inside, so the body shop is and I'm thinking maybe something because the car. I think I told you guys a

car with the car was garage kept for a long while before we acquired the car, and now the car has been moved around. It's had to be put on

a tow truck a couple of times, moved from location to closure location. Maybe that's what caused it. I don't know,

but it wasn't there when I looked at it. So,

like said, I know it's gonna writ and it's not.

That's not super expensive. I could take that dash literally,

let some just go ahead and leather wrap it really, you know, and in stitch it if I really wanted to do it, and just be done with it. So

I don't know, I'm much come up with something. I'll

figure it out. And then I think I told you guys,

I was trying to make the center console for the car.

The car doesn't have a center console in it because it was set up for drag racing. I want to

put a center console back in it. If I'm gonna

do it, I think I want to do a modernized center console in the car, just so I can have some place to put a drink, how.

Speaker 1: Moder or.

Speaker 5: Like a lock system on it, or like the USB charge report.

Speaker 2: Maybe I might put some of that in it, just like order, and I might put like the USBs down in the front just so I wait to plug my cell phone in some place. And I've seen it where

people made them now with a little cell phone holder or like up up front so it doesn't slide around, some kind of thing of doing something like that. But

then once again, I want to have it wrapped. The material,

I don't. I see people like they're baking them out

of wood and they're spraying them out and they look good guys doing wrong. If that's your thing, then that's

your thing. But I think I'd rather have mine wrapped

like a material or something like that. Maybe you want

to look like it's part of the car.

Speaker 4: You're gonna have my little switches you're gonna have been like switches to turn on the car arm something.

Speaker 3: No, I mean.

Speaker 2: The car has a key, but it was set up for drags, so it has you turn the fan on.

Speaker 3: Each told them for you upon you.

Speaker 5: Really do all that?

Speaker 2: Or is it how I would have done it? So

it's probably question it right, It's not how I would have done it. It's there and it doesn't look stupid.

Aren't buy any means? But they didn't get anything.

Speaker 3: No, I don't really think so looking at it, like any of it can be fixed. What it is?

Speaker 2: I think I told you guys delay box because it was a drag car. The delay box is screwed in

the passenger side to the floor up.

Speaker 3: That's not staying like that. That's going to get hidden somewhere.

Speaker 6: You.

Speaker 2: I mean, like I said, there's little things. Like I said,

we bought it, somebody was chielding it. Somebody took a

original car and was building it so they could drag race it. So they really didn't care. I'm taking the

car and couldn't putting it back to street use in kind of a street drag race kind of looks so like I said, I I just really kind of want to get the car done and get it out out of the road and then maybe I can do but I'm I'm weird about taking cars, so it's first showing in certain things not being done. So I'm like, I

know that I'm worried about the delay and how no one in my head how bad the delay is. And

you guys are gonna send me text messages and emails and joking.

Speaker 3: But once you start.

Speaker 5: Driving, and then you really started the idea and you can start really planning and see what you want right there.

Speaker 2: No, it is, You're absolutely right. It's one of those

situations where but little nuances things are things that I want to like, I know right right, and like it's like do you let them see it done or do you just let them see it as you're building it, like you know, you don't know because doing awards if you put it in any show, you.

Speaker 4: Know, I mean we used to be award people and stuff, you know, and and I even know you don't think that way there that were like both built or project cars, you know. But then we also heard some of the

comments from the side where oh why is he bringing that there?

Speaker 2: Like that car was cool? I know exactly what car

you're talking about.

Speaker 4: You just hope that that doesn't happen to us, you know, because we're trying to build a car not only for us, but for the community to be able to a lot of cherry stumping.

Speaker 2: To go to a lot of these pressures. I want

something that's going to sit there, I said. And the

bad am isn't done yet, guys, So it's like this gives up.

Speaker 4: Tony to take something out by the way.

Speaker 3: By the way, I do have an update on that as well.

Speaker 2: So but now, like I said, I tell me if I'm weird, tell me what you guys would do. Would yes,

you're in a shit or would you just drive it and let people see it as you're adding things to it.

I don't know I would drive it.

Speaker 3: And the reason I want to know what they think.

I know what you think.

Speaker 4: I understand that what they all right, we'll listening to them.

But at the same time, wise Man once told me a car is meant to be driven.

Speaker 3: Meant to be drinking.

Speaker 2: I want wise Man, because I very much believe. I

know a lot of people have cars and they just sit in the garage.

Speaker 5: But you're the fortune teller.

Speaker 3: Don't ask me for lottery numbers.

Speaker 2: Your lottery numbers for the day are eleven eight thirty two looks like but they're like I said, I'm I'm excited about getting it to the point, like I said, where we can start taking it to things. And I

told you it will be out to some shows this year.

I'm kind of hoping it really makes it out to the dust off. I just don't know if it's going

to come out of paint body on time. I'm hoping,

and maybe if I take a dust off, it definitely won't be If it goes to dust off, just so you guys know, it won't be finished.

Speaker 5: So are you going to drive that more of your daily or are you still drive the truck?

Speaker 2: No, I'm still driving the truck, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, No, this is just another toy dad in the garage, right.

I mean I might drive it every once in a while to go get groceries or something just because it's cool to be out of it. But no, I mean,

it's just another another toy. And then, as I told

you guys before, then our Chevy truck will go in to paint body. Right after that, like I kind of

seed to around. Yeah, it's going to go in and

get work done on it. And then we'll probably pick

people after that, probably picking up another project after that.

We already have an idea of some things we want to.

Speaker 4: We're not forgetting about it. It's just no give them

an update.

Speaker 2: Yeah I was, but I know, I knew I had to go commercial break soon, so I kind of wanted to.

Now back to your host Dave Polach.

Speaker 2: Hey, guys, welcome back. So before we went to commercial break,

we were talking about Cameron prompted me to tell you guys what was going on with the bad am so go ahead, all right, it it's gonna take a little bit to explain it. If you guys, remember we've had

a lot of problems with parts. We've talked about it

for months and months and months, okay, and then we had a problem with the breaking system. We've talked about that.

Everybody's like, it should be a simple fix. To a

certain degree, you're right to be No, right, they're right to.

I will say that the listeners are right to a certain degree. It should be a simple fix. It would

be a simple fix as if I was willing to, and I talked about it this week, and I probably should have if I just took everything off the car through to side and just the first time spent the money and just bought new stuff and just figured the other aspect of the money out later on. But after

having about forty four hundred dollars invest it into the breaking system of stuff, I wasn't willing to just yank everything off and scrap it and then go spend another i don't know, four thousand, five thousand dollars when I got and then had to figure out how I'm going to get that money back. And everybody's like, yeah, but

how much money you have tied up in the car, so it made it to a certain agree. I guess

it does make sense. Ebody how much money you got

tied up in that car? And I'm like, oh a lot.

They're like, so really, to be honest, forty four hundred dollars is a drop in the bucket.

Speaker 5: Right, but it could buy a whole lot more parts.

Speaker 3: Though, No, you're right, You're right, it could.

Speaker 2: But I gave every ample opportunity to try to solve the problem for the company that you know, provide it, provide it. And we're dealing with because there was two

companies involved in that, and both of them just could not we couldn't seem to agree or get on the same page. I don't know what it is. I die.

I just said. I sent a lot of emails and

I try to explain to you guys, know, I told you like I had. It was a failure within the part,

and I documented everything. I even document it with them

on the phone, talking on the phone, like here's what's going on. Tell me if I'm doing something wrong, can

we fix it? How do we do it? So I

boxed everything up and not the first time. If you

guys remember, this is the third time I have sent parts back to try to resolve our issues somewhere wrong parts and that's the reason why things didn't match up.

And they got me the right parts, and then this part was the wrong part. So now that part had

to go back because this is the right part. But

these parts that don't mind out now and they don't bolt to it. This didn't go on here, and now

this this goes on here, but this won't bolt to that.

Speaker 3: A lot of that.

Speaker 2: You think it wouldn't be that much trouble, but it has been.

Speaker 3: Were a year. We are literally a year into doing this.

Speaker 2: I I couldn't believe it until I went and I looked back at the receipt and I went, it has been a year of messing with this and it's just insane to me. But anyway, had them on the phone,

did a conference call this week, and I went through all the story all over a game which I will not pain you guys with the story all over again, but I would all the way back to the story because it's like every time you call, it's like you got to start fresh. And so I went through all

my look and they kept kind of arguing They're like, well, no, you never I was like, I've sent it. I assure you,

I don't have parts laying around in the garage. I

never sent you. Like how did I get this and this?

If I didn't already send you back and you sent me the replacement, Like, why would I be asking for another part? We got to the bottom of one of them,

so the reason why I hadn't received some of the parts.

They had my parts on hold and had no intention of sending them to me. I'm like, well, how do

we get that? I talked to you guys. You said,

send of me the part, You're gonna send the replacement parts and hopefully things go well. And I said, I've

been waiting and waiting and I haven't seen anything. That's what

prompted me to call you, because I'm like, I haven't seen anything. I understand everything had to go to product

and development for them to take a look at it and see what happened.

Speaker 3: I get it.

Speaker 2: I understand that, right, But it got to the point where I'm like, too much time has gone by, Like what is going on a part that I sent back to them in June? I sent them back apart and

they sent me the replacement part. Okay, they show that

they sent me a replacement part, but I never sent them the return back, so they put all my stuff on hold because it shows that I guess, like I'm a criminal. I don't know, I don't know I stole

parts from them, And I'm like, what are you guys talking about? Like, I sent you the part back. How

do you think I had the replacement part if you didn't, Well, initially, they probably just sent you out the part knowing that the part was on its way back, and I went, no, you definitely got the part. So after being on the

phone for a while and then digging through it, they find out guess what they did get the part?

Speaker 3: No, they got. It's even worse.

Speaker 2: They got the part back, guys, but they credited my account when they got the part back as if it was a return, not in exchange.

Speaker 3: So the part that I got.

Speaker 2: For the replacement essentially it was free, which because it showed and then in the computer, it triggered that I never sent it back because it shows they sent me another part with no money changing hands.

Speaker 3: So it's like I it shows it's.

Speaker 5: All on the record, So you'd imagine someone where.

Speaker 2: I don't know how you're going to that point. I

don't know how they got there, but I was like, wait a minute. I was like, here's the thing. First

of all, it wasn't an even exchange. You sent me

parts for a C ten pickup truck of a year I don't even know. I was like, they put on

a trans am. They're not the same part. I was like,

So I was in the garage going, why don't these go on? What's wrong? And I told you guys the

story about it. Kind of find out. I did a

lot restitch on my own and I looked up who they are made by, because I was like, okay, maybe I'm doing something wrong, maybe there's a I don't know, an adapter plate something, And then kind of find out they don't even make trans am parts. All they made

was Chevy truck parts. I'm like, okay, so obvious this

is the wrong part. And then when I called, we

got to the bottom of it. Like I told you guys,

they found out, Yeah, I guess we did send me the wrong part. So anyway, long story short, or long

story even shorter than it should be longer, how do you want to do that? They figured it out that

I never paid for the part. I'm like, well, if

I owe you money by all means you have my card on file, just build me for and send me the other parts were having problems with Why would you guys just sit on them and never call me and tell me?

Speaker 3: This the reason why we haven't sent you the parts, not that.

Speaker 2: I needs to say the parts fingers crossed that are on their way. So cool.

Speaker 4: So you don't even know this yet, but I'm doing it the same thing. Won't name the company, but I'm

doing it the same thing with CI right now where I made I returned a part that I bought you and I didn't hear any update on it. So I

called them and I'm like, hey, what's going on. I'm

expecting this part to be returned? Oh well, you know,

we went through our warehouse, which is cool. They went

through their warehouse and saw that it was affecting all.

Speaker 3: Of them defective part YEP.

Speaker 4: So they were contact and manufacturer, you'll hear an update by monday. By Monday. If you don't hear an update

by Monday, we'll give you a call by Friday. I'm like, okay,

I'll wait.

Speaker 2: So that was this week.

Speaker 4: Kill didn't hear a call Monday, didn't hear a call on Friday, and I just got to let her from them.

Where now they just credited my account and said as if I returned them that I didn't exchange it. The

price does not match for what I paid for it.

It's like forty dollars difference of what they credit my account for. They charged me a fee for returning it,

so a restock fee is on the bill. So now

I have to call them back when they open up on Monday to try to try to Yeah, you didn't even know this.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I just got that in the mail. You guys

don't know what that's for. My mistake for wanting to

do things right, my mistake. One of the tail lenses

on the trans am, it's there, but I can see that there's like a small little crack in it. And

once again, like just like we just talked about the dash, it will drive me nuts. It's a little hazy, right

because they're old, well they are they could be polished, so I could polish those lenses out and maybe just fine.

But like I said, now, one of the things that I will tell you is my lens covers are custom so they've been. They were blacked out many many moons

ago when the car was new. The new ones come different,

so I have to have things black back out again.

But that's a whole another story for another day. But

Karon buys me for Christmas, so now we are what three months going, so he's dealing with it both okay, okay, So they buy me the lenses. I open them up

and I'm like, oh, well, it was like there's a crack in this one, almost like a crack like got in one. It's it's a defect in the lens in

the molding that made a crack line in the molding.

Speaker 4: And what they say is they will for all of these older cars, like past the eighties, like before the eighties.

They said, what they'll do is they'll get a part request, but they only need so many parts then to be able to send it to the manufacturer and say create a mold for it and then punch them out. He goes,

about one hundred of them will come out good. But

after you start punching that mold. So many times I

tell you.

Speaker 2: About molds because I learned about it the hard way.

Molds have to be. Uh, there's maintenance that has to

be done the molds, so there's there's maintenance.

Speaker 3: I know this. I don't know if I ever told

you guys.

Speaker 2: I designed a bed for a truck in my twenties and they were going to make mass produce them. But

the maintenance for the molds and all that kind of stuff is where it all went south. Because the molds

had to be maintenance in the company that I was working for who wanted this particular bed, and then I designed, I use a CAT system, designed the bed everything like that on cats. Has taught myself everything. I've never been

formally trained any of that, but I did it, and then I brought it to this company and said this is what I like, very cool to make, right, And they're like, that's actually pretty neat we would like to make.

We could probably sell those ourselves. It's pretty cool design.

So the company that I was working for didn't want to pay for the maintenance of the molds. That's reason

why it never got made. Now jump forward, ltensive they

are it was. I want to say it was like

ten thousand dollars a year to maintenance the molds or something like that. It's like the price they gave it

to us, which is makes sense because if you The problem I had was, if you were going to make them and try to sell them out to the general, why aren't you going to maintenance the mold as the company who's making it for me? And then it was

we could add a partnership and we would have made money off of that bed design for everyone. They sold.

The company I was with decided they didn't want to do it. Jump forward. I want to say, I'm probably

maybe six eight months. I go to an auto show

and on a revolving carousel in the middle auto show is my bed. They made one, and we're seeing testing

the market to see how it was going to sell.

It was No, didn't. I didn't. I was in my twenties.

I didn't even think about it, you know. I was

just excited to design something that somebody was interested in.

Speaker 5: But maybe you and every other twenty years old, right right.

Speaker 3: I was just like this, this is cool.

Speaker 2: But that's how they get I did get to see my design and full build, and it was just as cool as it was that I desire. It wasn't it

was physically mine anymore. I don't know how many they

ever sold, but I will say.

Speaker 5: That they're not around anymore.

Speaker 2: They know. Actually, about five years ago in traffic, I

was sitting behind a truck and it had that beat.

It's a custom work bed, just so you guys under It was a complete custom work bed that I designed and we needed it for our application for what we were doing. That's what made me design with There was

nothing out there that fit all of our needs. And

I was like, well I could design.

Speaker 3: One, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2: It took me a little longer than I thought, but I did, like I said, finished it, and I finished it, and then somebody was interested.

Speaker 3: It was cat cap hide or whatever it was.

Speaker 2: As you say, it makes some beds that they were the ones that are interested in And like I said, they made one, and like I said, it was it was at this auto show in the work industry on the turntable truck's been around. I was like, how cool

is that?

Speaker 5: Were you were you really excited or really mad?

Speaker 2: I went, cool is that? And then after a couple

of drinks later on that night, it probably turns the curse like these guys, you know, but hey, you know what, it's a cool story to five years later. It's cool story.

Speaker 4: Nobody gave you a call right about your parts. I

just started thinking about They just sent me a letter in the mail that says that they gave me a credit on my account. So it's like, now I really

have to call them and figure out, are you guys sending me a new part or do you guys not have enough orders to remake this mold?

Speaker 2: And if that's the case, then what do you have one lens and not the other one?

Speaker 4: One lens that wasn't even cracked.

Speaker 3: One lens is good, that was not the one that way I need it really need.

Speaker 2: It's actually the one I need, and I wouldn't. Here's

the reason I want to both because I hate when I see a car where they were only replace one lens and one's old and one's new.

Speaker 3: Definitely talent. I think it looks it just looks really lame.

Speaker 2: I hate the people do, even even on new cars, when I'm sitting behind so many traffic and I see that they replaced on.

Speaker 3: Like one good old head light one hundred dollars and by the other light.

Speaker 4: You also mentioned that your frames on the Nova that they're painted black, or that you want to get them painted.

Speaker 3: Black because they are black.

Speaker 4: You know, I looked for black frames for the trans am.

Same thing. They don't make black frames, but you can

buy them pre pre fabbed and then you can paint them yourself.

Speaker 2: Right, Well, there's nothing wrong with the frames on ours, and I'll just send them the power code and lead and powder coating because powder coating wasn't a thing back then.

They just painted them out rather have powder coding. But anyway,

if you guys are wondering what was going on with the bad am, that's if everything works. Apparently now we

got a lens problem, but hey, I do have I do have some sequential tail lights to install, so you know when as soon as I get the lens, it'd be great, right, Yeah, So I did get those.

Speaker 4: And those were customs are customers, and I will say that company, Da Dapper Lighting made them for us, and they are actually a really really good company to work with.

for you. I had somebody sent me this article and

I read it and it was actually kind of cool.

Hey Dave, now I meet me a Hey Dave, I don't think it's really a hey day. Somebody just sent

me a cool article. I read it and they got

me to thinking. And I can't remember what platform it

was onm but it's on one of the new car news platforms out there. You guys probably stumble across it,

but it got me think about it and it was like, you know, talking about how things are changing. And like

so when we were kids, we hung cars on our wall, like posters of them, right, I mean like that was like our thing to hang posters on the wall. Your

guys generation, we hang nothing on the wall. You guys

didn't hang anything on the wall.

Speaker 3: You guys.

Speaker 2: If you were a car guy, you guys had die cast cars. That was your guys.

Speaker 3: You guys did diecasts background car park. One of your

kids didn't.

Speaker 5: Oh you just take a car park, you hang on the wall.

Speaker 2: But that was like we hung the cars that we like wanted wanted to own some time in life on.

Speaker 1: Everybody.

Speaker 2: We didn't have entitors back then, so we had koontash.

But so I got to think about it. I was like, well, yeah,

I guess that is right. I was like, you know,

we hung on the walls. My kids generation had die

cast of cars they liked.

Speaker 4: I'm like, but so what we're like the you know, what's the new generation stuff?

Speaker 2: I wonder what the new generation is going to be.

I wonder what your guys' kids is gonna be, what they're gonna do. Your kids are getting hot wheels. I'm

just letting you guys know, your guys are getting tons of hot wheels.

Speaker 4: I just saw Hunter, our little brother. He finally put

a car on his table. There's a McLaren sitting next

to his, next to his uh computer.

Speaker 2: We did.

Speaker 5: We didn't have a lot of hot wheels growing up, though I used to. I used to line the hot

wheels up on my change.

Speaker 3: You had a lot of diecast cars too, You didn't destroy the die cast Yeah?

Speaker 5: Yeah, so you know we build them together and build them, paint them.

Speaker 2: Well, you're talking about the models, not the podcast. You're

talking about Moss. Okay, I'm talking about that metal diecast.

Speaker 4: We used to have a snap on truck tow truck, and I used to tow the die cast cars with the tow truck when I was a kid.

Speaker 3: It was never meant to be a toy.

Speaker 5: Camera destroyed every die cast we had.

Speaker 3: Never meant to be a toy.

Speaker 4: I should have known when it had me take screws out to be able to take it off of its stands.

Speaker 2: So yeah, it's probably no, No, that's a different one.

That's actually NAPA truck up there.

Speaker 3: But there's.

Speaker 2: What was your guys like, I know, do you guys remember what your favorite cars like? Like we go to

the store and you guys wanted like you had to have that die cast? Do you guys remember?

Speaker 5: I know I was I like Mustangs even growing up.

Before I even got my Mustang.

Speaker 2: I wasn't you know.

Speaker 5: It wasn't a big Mustang hot head, but I did like the Mustangs growing up.

Speaker 4: I know that I liked the chargers. I used to

have a red and black charger die cast cars and my dresser, but I always wanted a Porsche nine to eleven die cast car because I liked Well tell you.

Speaker 3: How things have changed. A little bit. Cameron liked a

red seventy three trans Am, oh he did.

Speaker 2: Like there was a red seventy three Transite and we had a black one too.

Speaker 3: Yeah, the red one was out of my personal collection that he took off.

Speaker 5: He snapped the wheels right and breaking it.

Speaker 4: But I didn't snap the wheels. It rolled off of

my dresser and had a very bad accident. So, like

I said, that's I got to thinking about it, and I was just like, well, the cars for us?

Speaker 2: So I went and I looked. I went and did

a little research on this because I used to create bump stops of cardboard code the wheels. Here's here's the thing.

So I guess the generation right before us before me, theirs was the sixty five Pontac Gto was like the desired car, and that's what people had posters of those on their wall. Okay, the sixty eight Camaro was something

that they had the wall. Okay, they had old Porsches.

Some people like older Porsches out of the I guess out of the seventies probably, and then they had transamp, firebirds and transams.

Speaker 3: So that was the generations for it.

Speaker 2: So then it went to our generation and it's funny because some of our generations still had ponac GTOs, old mustard cars hanging on the wall. Okay, we had old

camaros hanging on our wall. We had old trans ams,

and we had Porsches, okay, because I remember having a portion of the wall. But one of the things that

changed for us was I remember I had one We had DeLorean on our wall because Delorian was so advanced, even the New Right.

Speaker 3: It was so advanced, like you know for.

Speaker 2: What it was with the golden doors and everything else, Like it was cool even though the car was really slow.

Like I still could tell you guys, And I told the boys, like if I had an opportunity to buy DeLorean nowadays, I would probably buy it, but I had to take I take the motor and throw it away and I put like an ls senat or something to make it worth having as far as I'm concerned.

Speaker 3: Okay, So jewelry.

Speaker 2: Another big one for us was Ferrari. We all, like

all the kids were car kids. We all had a

Ferrari on our wall. I think I told you typical.

Everybody had a Laborty Andy Kuontosh on the wall. I

mean I remember, like so for us it was Coontash.

Another one that I remember having and it had a girl sitting on the front hood was a Dots in two eighty Z. I remember having this cool We had

that poster. So you guys remember book fairs. Book fairs,

we didn't go we all posters. We didn't go to

the book fair for the books. We went for the

book fair for the poster. Is where it was where

the ninety percent of my car posters came from the book fair.

Speaker 3: I can tell you I literally did.

Speaker 1: So.

Speaker 2: Firebird was a big.

Speaker 3: One that we had.

Speaker 2: I didn't I'd never had a Firebird on my wall.

Believe you know, I'm a Firebird fan. I never never

had a Firebird. I did have a Z twenty eight,

like a seventy eight twenty eight Kmara because you already owned a Firebird maybe already, Yeah, but this one. I

was a kid, I'm talking while I was in school.

Speaker 3: I didn't have it.

Speaker 2: Negar.

Speaker 4: Well, it was in the family, so you're like, I cannot go see it in person if I wanted, so maybe the reason why.

Speaker 2: So, Porsche was a big one. I did have a

nine to eleven Porsche on my wall when I was a kid. I had a lot of car posters on

my wall when I was a kid.

Speaker 4: I liked so bad.

Speaker 2: It's another one that a lot of people didn't have.

I guarantee it, but I had. It was a vector,

so I had a vector on my wall. A lot

of people probably don't even know what that car is.

If you're a big car guy, you do. But if

if you know, if you listen to this car show and you're not super super into like every type of car, you may probably don't remember the vector or the vector W.

I think it was WS two or W two, which was the next model out car way ahead of its time, custom made. I had one of those on my wall.

Another one I had on my wall that maybe some people had and they didn't. And I had two of

two vehicles. Actually I actually had three that most people

from maybe didn't have. I had a night Rider on

my wall. I had the eighteen van on my wall,

and I had start seeing hutches vehicle on my wall at Van's pretty cool. I still think you could build

an new version of that on a on on an old Chevy platform, but lower it down, drop it, lower it give it a kind of a cool drifting look to a van and it'd be kind of neat.

Speaker 3: I there's a little piece.

Speaker 2: I used to have.

Speaker 4: I used to have the black charger, the red charger, and the red charger. Remember you had a Challenger, you

had a red Challenger Challenger, and then I had the black Transam sitting next to the red Challenger and then the red Transam sitting next to the black.

Speaker 2: Now, so here's here's the other thing. Cars that you

wanted to own and drive that like to high school.

Like when you went to high school, what were you What was like the ambition of your guys's parking lot because ours was weird? What was your guys is like

growing up in high school? What was like cars that

people like? Man, I'd like to have one of those

and have it like I was able.

Speaker 4: To achieve mine.

Speaker 3: Mine was the three F and I was I was able to achieve.

Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I'm a sitting I mean dream car.

I don't think it was my dream. It was like

you guys parking lot, my car personally it was unless unless you know, rich kids were pulling up in Audi.

Speaker 2: But that's cool, right, But Audi R eight we had Audi? Yeah?

Speaker 4: Yeah, and he and I remember he worked all day and purchased himself.

Speaker 2: Yeah. The only reason why I.

Speaker 4: Had respect for the kid was because I talked to him and he told me that, and he would get off of school, go to work, work for it all.

And then I think his parents did give him somebody to put it down, but basically pay it for himself.

Speaker 2: And I was just like, that's pretty quick. Shut down

in our parking lot. I went, like I said, I

had to think about this a little research. I was like, sud,

let me think about this. So everybody had Mustangs, so

and our partly, I told you guys, some old Mustang and some kids had I won't say they were pristine.

Some of were kind of beat or five o's, but there was a couple of pristine, brand new five O's in our parking lot that mommy and daddy I'm sure probably bought. Ye I'm just saying maybe they did.

Speaker 3: Jeep Wranglers. They were big.

Speaker 2: Jeeps were every jeeps were a big people had jeep rang They always had the tops off of and stuff.

Speaker 4: And our generation, like y'all generation, when you guys got to the high school and you know, you guys used to hang out in the parking lot. You know, you

could see jeeps parked up on top of tires and people would come out of the school. In your generation,

our generation, it was strictly park your car going to the school.

Speaker 2: Now you couldn't. We were able to park out by

the back by the ball field where they played baseball at and a lot of people had cooler cars kind of parked out there.

Speaker 3: Some places.

Speaker 2: We didn't have one. But the dream to dream cars

that I could tell you during my generation when we were driving was everybody liked the Viper when it came out, so everybody wanted to Viper, and everybody loved Lotus, the older Lotuses, the Spreeze, definitely cool cars. Cars in the

parking lot still we had which was a big thing.

It may not seem big, but we had the three hundred z's, Uh we had.

Speaker 3: We had those in the lot.

Speaker 2: If somebody had one of those were big and that was Agntager really didn't start kind of hit until after I was out of the ice style or so like uh, the SPEs and stuff like that. That it was I

was already kind of out of school. I think I

was in the military when people really started kind of hitting those big in r parking lot. Cutlasses. Everybody had cutlasses.

I had why seven. I told you guys, I had

a cutlass, Supreme bro Hands Carlos where they pop Carlos.

That's on the list, money Carlo. A lot of people

drove Grand Prix and the other car. If you had

one that was cool that generation. If you had an

RX seven, seven are cool now one of the coolest cars.

I still want to tell you, guys.

Speaker 5: There's a bunch of cars.

Speaker 3: I like the RX seven, I like the eighty style, and I like the early ninety style.

Speaker 2: But the price tag on the early nine style is crazy right now, almost a much as a Supra. I mean,

they're like stupid crazy. Everybody wanted a super back then,

but none of us were ever going to force.

Speaker 5: Kind of like I feel like, I feel like the RX seven is kind of like the Dodge Viper of like, you're right.

Speaker 2: The body style is very similar to one of the cool cars I think I told you guys we had in our parking lot. Might not be cool to you,

but it was because it was to me. It was

like the beginning of the turbo cars. Uh, the conquest,

the Dodge Conquest. Yeah, so that was beginning I told

you how to buddy, you had one on, uh, really fun car to drive. No, he had a turbo in it.

It was it was a single turbo car. I think

those things were twin turbo. They're single turble. But his

dad did work on his so and that was before people were doing turbos, right, so it was already pretty quick.

And as the story went, he was indulging in a little extracurricular activity and dropped it and went stone picked and hit the back of an RV and told that thing that was That was the story in high school.

Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but it was.

Speaker 2: It was cool because it was like like fire engine red.

So the car stood out in the parking lot and it would smoke the tires like you were like, you wouldn't believe on that car.

Speaker 5: Even I will say when we're in school, there wasn't a lot of modified cars. I think my car was

probably the most heavily modified. Yeah, get you're stood out like,

yeah a lot. It would stand out across the parking

lot today. So so curious what was in your guy's

Speaker 2: Hey, guys, so is now the time to tell you that I think certain states in the United States are just completely crazy.

Speaker 5: Where a good point.

Speaker 2: That's a good point.

Speaker 3: If you don't know what I'm.

Speaker 2: Talking about, I'm gonna jump into this speed limiters on cars.

If you guys have not read this story, Virginia is gonna be effected by it. They want to This is

not the only state that's crazy, by the way.

Speaker 5: I understand it.

Speaker 3: Okay, just let me get it out there.

Speaker 2: Because we're doing this.

Speaker 3: They want to put speed.

Speaker 2: Limitter on your car for offences now, So if you get a ticket for like reckless driving, you get a speed limber on your car. And if you don't know

what it is, it means it's set in the car won't go over this a certain speed. You're just stuck

and that's the only speed it goes. And I guarantee

you you're gonna be fifty five miles an hour right, It's gonna set it right there. So you're getting a

sixty five mile an hour zone. You're just not a

luck like it. And they want to track on top

of that. They want to double down on it and

then track if you speed like they'll be able to find out if you speed, if you're speeding in certain airs, like if you're in a thirty five and you're going over to speed they'll be able to know.

Speaker 1: Like I get it.

Speaker 2: We don't want people to speed. I don't want anybody

to die from traffic access all trust me. We don't

need to argue that point. But the overreach is insane

as far as I'm concerned. It's just want closer for them,

just implementing it into newer cars, and you not have because.

Speaker 3: They've talked about putting a new cars.

Speaker 4: Remember I'd rather go spend a week in jail than putting a speed limitter. In my course, it's about everybody

seeing that. But at the same time, when is an

enough enough.

Speaker 3: This idea right?

Speaker 4: I mean, didn't just California try to put this in and they not declined, And I know that's like how I feel about it.

Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't.

Speaker 5: I just look, I think you should make your own choice.

Speaker 2: I go by the practice of we're all adults, okay, and we need to make decisions for ourselves. As an adult,

I don't need the government telling me what to do.

Speaker 3: And they're like, well do you?

Speaker 2: And I already know where this is going because I get weird emails and I get weird texts. So you

just want people to die in traffic accidents. No, that's

not what I'm saying. That's not what I'm saying is

you're an adult, be responsible for yourself and your own actions.

You shouldn't have to have the government or anybody else step in to tell you how to be an adult.

I mean just I just don't believe. That's why I

believe that's always an overreach. I'm gonna take you on

a second thing. You have California, which we all know

has been crazy for a long time when it comes to laws, then want to put in traffic cameras that get you on different traffic, uh, offensive speeding you know, I guess running red lights, wrong turn, stuff like that.

But this is where it gets even. Just your fine

will be based upon your your income. What what? Yes,

so it won't be the same fine for everybody. If

you make less money, you get to pay less You get to pay less money in the fine.

Speaker 5: What How does that? How does that show anybody anything?

What I'm going at, How does that teach you anything?

Speaker 2: That teaches you nothing?

Speaker 3: There's no I mean, like it's everybody gets a trophy, right theory, That's what it is.

Speaker 2: You can't teach people that there's losers and not losers, and winners and not winners. So well, it just feels

like if you're if you're within thirty eight thousand to sixty thousand dollars a year and you got a family of six, and UH will reduce your ticket fine because you know you you make less money. But the guy

who obviously did well for himself and worked hard to get there, he's getting more, has to pay more because he has more to give. What are you? Are you insane?

Speaker 5: Like literally, I mean like, who don't you already take enough tax?

Speaker 2: Don't you already take enough money? We're like, hey, how

about you like fix all the other problems you have?

And that goes for every state. Like when I see

tickets for speeding and tickets for the wrong like making a left hand turn when you shouldn't have at the stop, journey didn't stop.

Speaker 3: And and I hit a pothole in the road, I go, okay, we're spending that money real well.

Speaker 5: When you charge someone for not carrying their driver's license, but you have the programs to look.

Speaker 2: That point, You're just there for the money. It's a money,

money generator. I already told you this is this is

all money generator. I've been telling you guys when they

talk about starting putting these cameras in place, I understand back then you didn't have the technology. But we have

the technology. Let's stop being cheap and trying to money

about it. Is like they come up to you and

they're like, who is this car registered to you?

Speaker 7: One?

Speaker 3: You know that you don't know if it's registered to you.

They don't know if it's because they don't know who you are. You're right, You're right, I don't know if

it's right. You know the car, who the car? They

know who the car is registered you?

Speaker 4: If I can give my name right like they always do, they'll ask, well, can I get your data bird or some social security number? Okay, if you can look up

my license that way, then belongs to me. You know,

the car belongs to me. You know that, okay, Just

so you understand, it's a game.

Speaker 2: It's a game. They certain when you're pull right, when

you pull over, when you get pulled over, certain questions that are asked you or asked you, not because they don't have the answer. They're asked you questions to see

how you react to certain things. They are trying to

get certain reactions, which, if they say, if they're trained correctly, telltale signs of your reaction to certain things mean you may have something else to hide. So they're asking you

the guy that comes up and goes, so, is there any weapons in this car? And of course you go no,

So no hand grenades, no bombs, you don't have any dynamite, you know.

Speaker 1: Ha ha ha.

Speaker 2: That's that is a question. They're asking you on purpose.

They're asking that question, and they do it if you know, I know, you've got the experience. They're asking you that

because they want to see they're looking to see what your reaction is when they ask you things, right, and when he laughs, that laugh is programmed, by the way, when you know, the laugh is part of his spiel.

He's been told to laugh afterwards. So it doesn't seem

weird that he asked that question. But he really is

asking that question.

Speaker 5: Because he's done it so many times.

Speaker 2: Absolutely, it's totally faith, you know, Like I said, you know, when they come to you know, do you know why I pulled you over today? That's asked for a reason

because they're trying to see if you will make Absolutely, there's certain things they do and I do not have a clue officer, why you pulled me over?

Speaker 3: Did you know that you were speeding?

Speaker 4: No, I had no clue.

Speaker 3: I was rather I was.

Speaker 2: Driving, like I said. They asked you these questions for reason.

And even now it's even more because with bodycams, everything's recorded.

So everything you say that you made their case, don't make their case for him. And look, I'm not I'm

not gonna I'm not police fashion here. I'm just saying,

let me let me get you. They will get absolutely,

let them do their job. I've had a lot of

experiences with police officer the years have been very pleasant.

Speaker 3: Ones. I've had ones where I go, I.

Speaker 2: Just got derailed, and by the way, I gotta take a road trip soon, and I gotta go right through where I got that ticket at guys, and I'm already dreading it because it is the fastest way for me to go where I need to go. So I'm on

that road trip. I gotta go through that sound. We

all know that town loves to give tickets. And I'm like, dude,

you better set up a camera. Last time, literally last time,

I set the speed and everything on it, and I still got the ticket.

Speaker 3: I'm like there's and I like I told you guys, I told the God.

Speaker 2: There is no way, no way.

Speaker 5: What I don't like is that when they pull you over, they say they're required to give you some ticket. No,

because they you know, they already range your license plate, right, what's that that's the case, it should be the case.

Speaker 2: That's not the case. It's not the case. That's that's

a big line. They're not required to do anything. I

can say I'm gonna give you a warning and send you on your way. You could do that, you just

choosing not to, Like I said, I just they'll give you a ticket. The overreach on everything when it comes

to the tickets and stuff like that, just like, uh, I think I told you guys a while back. So

they had the fake police car with all its skyll of the cameras in it, and it's just literally just sitting there taking pictures and sending tickets through a computer system.

It's just a car they parked on the side the freeway, and you just go buy it, and you get used to the fact that you see it with nobody in it.

That car has equipment in it's taking pictures and sending you tickets. And I'm like, I'm sorry. I'm of the

old school thinking of hard work. What's working and catch

me doing it? Like, don't just give me a send

me a ticket.

Speaker 3: In the mail.

Speaker 2: It's like the as bad as the scam where people are like, oh, you didn't pay your tolls. Toll scams

going on right now. Everybody's like, oh, well, let me

go ahead and give you my credit card. I want

to pay that right now. First of all, if you

don't know, they're not calling you. No one's calling you

asking you to pay your easy pass. They will send

you something in the mail if you owe them money.

No one's calling you asking for money on the phone.

If you don't know or texting you, nobody's texting. Nobody's

texting you to say about it. Don't have your telephone number.

It doesn't happen. But I'm gonna say like it put.

Speaker 3: The work in. I'm not a habitual speeder, guys. I

told you guys.

Speaker 2: Now. Do I have muscle cars? Sure?

Speaker 3: Do I enjoy stop.

Speaker 2: Light to stop light?

Speaker 3: Do I blip that throttle every once in a while. Absolutely,

But I'm.

Speaker 2: Not out there going reckless. I'm sure not going What

just happened over off of Holland Road here in Virginia Beach.

What a week and ago with the takeover after a car meet, and now the car meet, by the way, can't happen anymore. Thanks appreciate it. It's been canceled. No

more car they can they can't do those. Yeah, they

can do those night car meets that they did a takeover and destroyed it. Now no we can go there

for night for you know, night get together. It was

a good it was a good thing. By the way,

they had food trucks and everything that has set up.

There's a lot of people like me who have I'm not driving around your twenty thousand dollars. I'm making payment

on it. You know, crap box. You know, I have

real money to invest in my cars, and I do enjoy going out at night, even though I'm getting older.

I like going out for a nice.

Speaker 3: Cruise and take my car and we'll see what other people have.

Speaker 2: It's ruined. It's done because you guys got to be idiots.

Speaker 5: So I mean, there's plenty of places to go and do your pun again stuff elsewhere.

Speaker 1: Right.

Speaker 2: Well, I told you guys, you know, you know the deal they're they're doing. You know, I hear they're out

and they're in Mexico, and everybody knows where to go.

If you want to go run things stuff like that, go take that stuff away from everybody. You didn't need

to do it on Holland Road right in the middle where there's people driving everywhere and you could hurt somebody to just this happened to us. I told you guys,

this happened as years ago when we used to meet in Hampton over at Builder Square and there would be over three hundred cars that would show up there, and it took two idiots to decide to drag race and hit each other, and before you knew it, that was it.

That was the end of it, and that was that was a big, huge deal. And I feel like I'm

reliving it again now and now I'm really putting money into cars and building nice stuff.

Speaker 3: Back then, we just had, you know, we we had our you know suff like that.

Speaker 5: When stuff like that happens, though, it shouldn't be affected.

The people that go shouldn't be affected. It should be

the ones that are doing the crime.

Speaker 2: Well, here's the problem. The shopping center who lets you

host something like that finally goes. That's how you got

you're gonna have. You're not doing it here anymore, right,

and that's what and just get shut down. And I

feel bad for the situation because that was a good, a good little thing was going on. You still got

cars and coffee. There'll be some other things and stuff

that pop up, guys. But man, if you, guys, if

you're one of those guys that are out there doing just stuff, that's going to cause all the rest of us not to be able to do these car meets and these people who are generous enough to offer up their parking lots. So let's do it. And now we

get closed and can do it, and then think about that before you go do something. Send day.

Speaker 5: They're on the record, fright.

Speaker 2: Look I'm all for like you can rev your motor up and every once in a while you're sitting still and you can.

Speaker 3: You know it because I do it, Like I mean, I put please do money in my motor.

Speaker 2: You know what I mean.

Speaker 3: I want you to hear it.

Speaker 2: But they do not.

Speaker 5: Just slam it and hold it down right.

Speaker 2: Right until somebody looks at I mean, it's just silliness.

And then no, guys, it's the show. Tell me what

you think you can agree with me and not agree with me.

Speaker 3: I don't know.

Speaker 2: You'll tell me about it an email. I'm gonna get
