That alone tells you this is not a niche fad. It is a market correction. The Ford Maverick sits right at the center of all of it available in five trims.
It starts at just under 29,000 for the XL. This thing can haul 1500 pounds, toes up to 4,000 pounds and somehow can deliver 42 miles per gallon.
Those numbers are borderline absurd for a pickup truck by standards of a few years ago. And they cover the real world need of most buyers.
