Camic Chaos and EVB. Hey guys, it is Saturday already.
I cannot believe this week has gone by so fast, which for some people is probably a good thing because now you guys got the weekend off and you get to I already think about SEMA. We got so much
stuff on the schedule before SEMO though, that we got to hit. As you guys know, if you've been paying
attention to the schedule and you're in the ham Roads, area.
Winterfest is coming up, so that's gonna be hitting. I
don't know if we're gonna make it to that or not.
I may do a guest appearance and show up. I
don't know yet, just trying to work out that. I
know that you got the big dust off coming off too, but I know we'll probably most likely be at that.
Like I said, we're trying to start put all the schedule together and get everything together for the season. Why
we still put our stuff together as far as the cars and stuff, and try to make that all work.
Little news on good old White Noise. It is coming
out pretty good. Some things are being done to it.
So I'm just gonna jump into it. Do you know
how much I hate wheel shopping, And I know Nathaniel shares this with me because this car still sit on stock wheels. I hate shopping for wheels for cars. So
I had to uh go down that route this week, and it wasn't even for White Noise as much. It was.
I start looking kind of for wheel options for that.
But uh, one of our project cars that we've been kind of down the little hush hush on uh trying to get some wheel So I here's the thing I don't like. I wish and people tell me, I know,
you guys can tell me there's sights out there, and I know that there is some certain sights out there that do it, but it still doesn't give you the right look, right. So I wish it was something out
there that really you could put any wheel on the car, and you could put in like your car, the height of your car. You need just the height of the
car for so to look like all the different things.
So it makes it easier to decide a wheel. Now
here's the thing.
Speaker 3: It would be cool too, like you know if like thinking about that'd be like cool when you did put it in and you tried to drop it down a certain level, and that won't work if it was like air, you know, like, hey, you'll have to do it won't fit, but you can make it fit by doing this.
Speaker 2: And that's exactly so I'm like, you know, I was looking at wheels in the car that I'm particularly working on.
I had a fifteen on it. I was pretty sure
I could probably do an eighteen or a nineteen on it, and I ended up buying a set of wheels. I
got a set of wheels off marketplace I do like the wheels. They're on the car. I think they look okay.
Is the exact look I wanted? No, it's not. It's close.
So now I got money invested in a wheel. And
to be honest with you guys, i'mola probably be powder coating them because they're just not the exact color I want, and I think they need to be just a little bit different of a color. But it goes into like
everybody's like, why don't you just go buy a brand new wheel? Well, we're building this car, and I didn't
want to spend To be honest with you, I didn't want to spend the money on a brand new wheel.
I was like, okay, I can find something on a marketplace, so they'll probably work. Looking at it on a marketplace,
it looked good. Put it on the car and I'm like, Okay,
it looks okay, but it's not the exact look I was looking for. It's close, but it's not exact. So
would you go with the seventeens? I went with eighteens? Eighteens?
Speaker 4: Okay, are you gonna do it? Are you doing nine
to follower wheel so it looks more? I got small tire.
They already got a smaller tire on it. Car like
I had fifteen's on it. I moved it up to
an eighteen. It looks I think the.
Speaker 2: Car realistically, if it was being for me, I probably would load the car down just a little bit to give a little bit of lower look on the wheel.
For the fact that the car is gonna be driven.
I'm a little worried about the driving style in the beginning of the car. I'm too afraid to lower it
down a little bit too low, so that may stay up a little higher than what I would drive it.
But I did contact somebody and I can have the white wheels powder coated. It's gonna cost me four hundred
bucks having powdered coate it. And we're gonna go with
a little bit more less blingy blingy to the color to them, because they're like I do agree they were.
They were a little bit of a gold tone to it.
I was looking for something was a little bit more bronzy tone. It does.
Speaker 4: It does ride a little high and it is a little flashy. I was gonna say, but you know, it's
not my car, so it's you know, it's all about you know, periods wise, what you like, but I do agree if you went for a little lesser tone and just dropped it just a little bit.
Speaker 2: I'm gonna go, probably for a little bit more of a gun metal look to it. Is what I'm gonna do,
and I think better on the car and for four hundred bucks, Not that I really want to spend another four hundred dollars, but I'm like, Okay, I just rather achieved the look. And that's why I hate wheels. Like
I said, now, if I could have, and here's what I do, just so you guys understand. So I'm pretty
decent with photoshop. I'm not the best with photoshop, and
I'm pretty good with it. So I find myself cutting
the picture out of wheels and then putting and then cutting the car out that I want and sliding the wheels in the photoshop and put it on that way I can move the car up and down. And I'm
doing that and I and everybody I've had people go, Dave, there's a website that lows to do that. Guys, I
played with a bunch of them, and none of them let me do everything I want to do, you know what I mean, Like I wish somebody outreate that. Huh.
Speaker 3: So for my photo guys out there, he's just dropping it an illustrator doing image trace, you know, dropping it over top of the sh I'm.
Speaker 2: Not a problem photoshop what any means. But I can
get by. And I told you guys, I go down
these deep rabbit holes and the and the thing always lasted me, and Cameron lasts at me. Because I start
building cars that I don't own. I'd like, I find
a car online. I'm like, man, that's not a bad
deal for that car. I'm like, all right, cool, what
kind of wheels will look good on this thing? And
I start looking for wheels and I'm like, you know what, that we will probably look good. So I cut the
wheel out and then I dropped the wheel and I start playing around. Before I know what, I've been doing
it for four or five hours on a car I don't even own that he bought off marketplace yet. I
just it's a sickness. I don't know it's a car thing.
But I wish I could do that. I had every
single car you could possibly think of, right, every car that you could think of, put in and then you could put the wheels on it and it has every single wheel that you want, and then you could do Okay, if I did a two inch drop on the car and I lowered it down, what was the right look?
And then it goes Nope, can't do that with that wheel.
You need this tire or you need this tire and that wheel combination for to achieve that something like that.
I know I'm asking for too much. I realized, I am.
It's a whole lot of testing.
Speaker 3: This because that one company we were working there, right, they were they could implement that the I know I'm going to say their name wrong, Monomino or the one that was at Seema, Yes, and that little AI go check out that video where you're able to build the car.
Speaker 2: I don't think let's do all that. I don't think it,
but they maybe somebody should build something to let you do all that where you can plug. Okay, So if
I put like coils on it and I lower it down my coil over, what would it look like it will fit with this particular wheel. Here's the thing. So
I took the particular car, right, I got like nineteen different answers of what was the biggest wheel like to put on that car and get underneath it because I'm on marketplace looking at wheels and I want to get stuck with the wheel. It wouldn't fit. I'm like, but no,
Like I go online, everybody, like I saw forms, I went to forums. Everybody's like, oh, you can fit this wheel.
That wheel won't fit, and people are arguing. I'm not
even I much watching my conversation go back and forth between people. I don't even know where they're arguing with
each other.
Speaker 4: Because depending on what people's riot height that they want accomplished and stuff. You know, the bigger the wheel, the
small you know, the tallest going to be so you can't really squat it down. Like if some people are
thinking about you know, they're lowering a little bit, then they're gonna go with.
Speaker 2: The biggest problem. So I've been wheeling. I've been not
talking a whole lot about this because we're building this for somebody, so and you guys can figure it out.
And with them being a newer drive, I'm just a little worried about, like, you know, the car sitting down too low because they don't know how to slow down for like bumps and stuff like that. And I want
to tear the car and that's the reason why I'm I'm just a little against bringing the car down right this second. Maybe in the future will bring the car
down a little bit lower. But yes, it has a
little bit too much of a gap between the wheels, so that I would like, I think it needs to sit down a little lower and have a better look to it. But nathaniel'l say, well, I was a young
driver and my car was laying on the ground.
Speaker 4: Well, the difference is, though, is that I built it that way, so I took care of it when going right.
So you know, it's different when you know people aren't really used to that, you know, dodging potholes.
Speaker 2: Or let me just say that, it's a good thing that I have a pickup truck, right, because the tick them out. No, no, because we did a little practice driving
the other day. I gotta be quiet because I never
know what anybody. So we did a little practice drive
on the other day and we drove right up over a parking curve in my truck. And I'm glad we're
in the truck because if they were in the camera, it would have destroyed the whole front assembly camer and learn right, So I'm like, sure, I'm glad we're in the truck. So that's my fear a little bit, because
if I build something and I put it down low, I'm like, and we hit a parking carve, we just bust the whole front ground effect up on the car, and then you know, then right now it's another I'm just a little worried about it. But like I said,
the wheel shopping like so I kept on bouncing back and forth. I'm bad because I don't know. Maybe there's
a little add either. I don't know, but I'm looking
for wheels for this project. And then I'm I start
seeing stuff. I'm like, well, that would look good on
white noise. I'm like, so I start playing around. I
am stuck. Guys, somebody's gonna have to help me out
because I kind of really think I want a big tire on the back of white noise, and I want to set it down really low on a wide on a drag on a drag slick like that look. And
I have a picture and I can show you what I look. But I have tub the car to do it,
which is not a big deal. I don't really care
because it's not like I'm building this thing to be correct.
You know, it's it's a sixty nine SS car. I'm
still it's was drag raced before before we got it, stuff like that. So not everything's perfect on this car.
It's gonna get close to perfect as we put it together as we can. But we bought it to play with, right,
It's cool looking car and bought to play with. So
I really don't care if I tub it, but I think I'm gonna tub it and probably put it, which then is gonna require me to change We're in you know what I mean? But whatever, I almost whatever. Let
me just tell you how are you gonna have to widen it out too? Or is tubbing just gonna be enough? No,
tell me enough to get the car there? So with
a with a smaller rear end. And let me just
tell you how weird I get when it comes to building cars. Right. So I told you guys, this thing runs,
drive's got a really sick motor in it. Great great driver,
I mean, like I said, that's the reason why we bought it, because it's it's it's together and it runs and it drives and everything. But I was someplace today
that has like an eight nine hundred horsepower motor sitting there trying to get rid of, and I was like, hmmm, pretty much. I know we got a good motor in
the car. Now, boy, that would be really cool in there.
I mean, I was like Sie started because I was like with the twin turbo kid, I'll speak about putting it, and I all like, well, thet's just.
Speaker 4: Have one sin on the side. I can just get
another project car and we just throw you know.
Speaker 2: I take that three. You know, but the price isn't bad.
But I was trying to work a deal and the deal hasn't didn't work out. I was like, I'm not
going to say how much they how much they want it for it, but the price wasn't bad. I can
tell you it's over ten grand. But what I was doing,
I was like, okay, so I'll buy the motor from you, I said, but I'll bring bright noise over here, and you got to drop the motor in it. That's the purchase.
So I move and mess with it. I just bring
it over here, I'll drop it off. You pull my
three fifty out, you drop this sin and hook it all up for me, and I just drive it out of here when it's done. For the full price. What
you offer the motor, and.
Speaker 4: You're gonna come back for the three fifty later. You're
gonna come back for the three fifty later.
Speaker 2: What the in the white? No, I would leave that
motor in there, and I would just take that three fifty and put it in something else. Yeah, as I'm saying,
you can't take it back home, Yeah, I would take three fifty home box put on a pal. I mean,
we already got a five to seven cent and that's all built that we haven't found anything to put in.
That's sitting over in a corner too, So I mean, just put it with that. I know you do. But
that's point of being a car guy, right, I think everybody has this problem. You're a car guy. You probably
have the same problem I have. I got motors built
that are sitting and stuff like that, and I'm over here trying to buy another motor, you know. I mean.
But but like I said, the private price was right, and I could have got the deal done for the right price, I'd have bought that motor and put it in it because it would be a better setup for the twin turbo kit that I want to put on this car. At some point to save some shelf space.
Why not just you know, tell him, hey, keep the three point fifty, put my engine in it, just replace it the same because by something like, uh, for instance, I tell you how much I go down, I go down the rabbit hole. Guys I had and I should
have hit on it quicker, and I didn't. There was
a guy that had a not that the realists won't like this, but there was a guy that had a GTO at six nine gto that was all painted, brand new paint on it and had the interior in it.
But it didn't have a motor or transmission and it need a set of wheels. But everything else was there
break everything was done on it, and it was a very clean looking car. It's just missing an engine and transmission.
And the price was really right on it, and I was like, I'm gonna buy that. I'm gonna drop the
five to seven in it for now anyway, right, But I hit it probably a couple of hours late. Someone
already jumped on it because it was a really good deal, you know. So somebody jumped on it, but I would
I'd have bought that car even though we got what we have laying around I had to purchase that car, and I would have dropped the five to seven in it.
But for instance, if I had the three fifty sitting out, I'd just take that three fifty and drop that three fifty right, that three fifties like six hundred fifty horse power.
I just would dropped that thing in there and called it today even though it's not a purist, it's not a you know, Pontiac motor, but who cares. That wouldn't
have cared. I dropped it in and drove and drove
it thinking about the power right right right. It would
have been another fun little car. And that's how my
mind works. Just so you guys understand. I know you
guys are like me, send me emails because I know you guys do the same thing. You're like, oh, I
can't possibly own enough cars, you know, And I'm already there.
I'm like, all right, so we got trans am. We're
building on it. By the way, I did make some
calls on the bad Am, just so y'all know we may have a solution to the brake problem, so we can move forward on that. That's good. So I know
I haven't got that, but here I gotta take it.
Let me tell Let me tell you. I got to
take a commercial break and I'll explain to you, and you guys tell me. I'm curious if I'm wrong in this.
I don't think that I am in this situation, but I can't get in all into it before commercial breaks.

Speaker 2: Hey, guys, welcome back. All right, So before we end
a commercial break, we got into what's going on with the bad end, So I'll bring it to speed very quickly.
As you guys know, we are almost going to be on a year of messing with failed parts, wrong parts on something that should be very, very simple. I'll bring
it speed on the part of you guys. Remember we're
having problems with the brakes, okay, and we've done everything we can. I believe we've done everything that we can
to try to solve that problem. Everybody goes this is
this is really swift? Why mean take it? Why is
it taking you a year? Well, here's the thing, because
some days, as you guys know, I suffer from bad migraines.
I don't feel good some days. So there's weeks where
I just can't work on that car. I just don't
feel right to work on the car. And then when
I do feel right to work on the car, we run into a problem which a part doesn't fit or whatever, and then I gotta take the part, box it back up, ship it out way from to send me another one.
All the stuff that's gone on during normal life.
Speaker 3: Even with that though, you know, even with that being the case, we were knocking it out, dude, we were.
There was a full month where we put out the set, hung the whole front the car in the car, and then it comes down to this one issue and we can figure it.
Speaker 2: So you you guys, tell me if you think I'm wrong.
I don't think I'm wrong in this, so I'll take you back. Originally, we ordered the break kit in from
a company that basically kind of has trees in their company.
If you go back through it, you'll hear me talking about it. But I'm not gonna blasta the second. But
it's it's got the something related to trees in their name.
You'll figure it out. And so I but I ordered
through a secondary company, you know, the one that you know has the word racing and might start with an S.
And so I ordered it all from them. I get,
I get the break kit, and the break hits completely wrong for my car. That's problem number one. Now keep
in mind this is how it works. Maybe I could
be wrong, but I don't think I am. I ordered
the break kit. By the time the break kid gets
here before my schedule allows me to start putting the break kit on, it's probably three weeks, maybe four weeks before I get around and putting the break kit on the car, because I just got crap going on. It's
it was you know, busy life.
Speaker 3: People building a car doesn't just go out.
Speaker 2: And don't like it's not building it in my garage and that's all all I had to do. Like, you know,
I have a wife, I got kids, you know, and stuff like that. Like it just doesn't happen. So you're
about almost probably that's probably three weeks. And before I
unbox it open it up, I started to try to hang parts and they're wrong, and I'm like, these aren't even the right breaks for the car. So I instantly
called him. I said, hey, pretty sure you guys sent
me the wrong kit for this car. It does it
just doesn't seem to match up, right. They're like, okay,
read me the number. I read the number, They're like, yeah,
that actually isn't the right one. So first of all,
that's not my problem, right, I didn't send me the wrong kit. Now, maybe I should have ran right out
there with the box and been all happy and be like, let me see if this fits, but that's just not how life works so.
Speaker 4: Well, and it wasn't together really free to do that either way. So I go ahead and I put everything
back in the box and I sent it back to them.
Speaker 2: I think like maybe a week and a half later to almost two weeks. I finally get the right cause
they had to go get back to them, and they send me the next one. I get the right break
kit that comes in.
Speaker 3: Look, and we don't always talk to just about the bad experiences. They did answer on a Sunday. They did
know they did answer the send. So but so.
Speaker 2: I get the right break kit and it's probably one of the new one comes in. I did pop the
box open just to see if things look different from what I already had, and I'm like, Okay, this looks a little bit more like. I took it out of
the box and I held it up and I'm looking at like, this looks more like what it should be.
So I put it on the workbench and went about my business. It probably got to be two weeks, maybe
three weeks again before I got around to be able to hang those parts. So I go and I go
start hanging the parts. The brakes are right, and they
don't hang right. I'm like what, I don't understand what's
going on here. I'm like, something's not right. It's not
hanging right. So I called them and I'm like, hey,
here's the problem I'm having. I put a lot of
cars together in my life, but something doesn't seem to match up. Well. The kit that they sold me only
fit on a customized spindle. No one told me that
the didn't had that conversation, and I didn't know. Maybe
I should have known, but I'm like, okay, let's go ahead and send me out a customized spindle. I'll get
a customer spindle for you so I know that this fits on it. I spend the money, I don't care.
I'm like, okay, let's just go ahead and do it. Now.
It's another week and a half, almost two weeks before the part shows up. I get the spindle. No, I
open it up. This is where it is. I open
it up. I'm like, oh, cool, spindle, right good, put
it on the workbench. I'm sure. Another two weeks or
so went by, so I got a round a time to put the spindle on the car. I take it out
of the box and go to put the spindle on the car. I grab the brakes and the brakes don't
go on the spindle. I'm like, I mean this not
even close. I'm like, what now. Keep in mind, it's
a customized spindle, so I'm not expecting to look like the stock one I took off the vehicle. So I've
already put the spindle on, bolted it into place. I
put two book control arms on the car, all kinds of stuff. I got everything all together. I go to
put the brakes and the brakes won't go on it.
I'm like, I'm and I'm frustrated. And they'll tell you.
I was extremely frustrated because I'm like, I just don't get what the problem is here. So I call them.
I'm like, hey, I got these spindles from me, their customer spindle for this direct break kit. You said I
had to have it. I was like, and nothing lines up.
Once again. I'm a pretty smart guy. I've done a
lot of cars. I don't hard and you took that
line because that was when I screamed out when I was in the Garagejohs. I was like, this shouldn't be
this hard. I don't understand what the problem is. Come
to find out, they send me the wrong spindles.
Speaker 3: They're not soft referencing, so I had the wrong break kit.
Speaker 2: We've saw that. Then they send me the wrong spindles.
So I'm like, okay, can I please get the right spindles?
So I box up the spindles. I send them back
to them. I'm sure another week and a half or
whatever goes by they send it out to me. I
hope up the box. I literally went straight out to
the car this time with the spindle. You think it
took me a little while to learn my lesson. Apparently,
I go out. I put I just because I got
the control arm. The top control arm flopped over. I
got the bottom control arms sitting on a jack, so it's you know, still sitting there. I drop it on.
I bring the other one over and I grabbed the brake to make sure the brake would go on it.
And I can see it's gonna bolt up just fine to it. I'm like, cool, good. But another week or
so probably goes by before we finally get together to go ahead and bolt the sun. We started to bolt
it on, and that's when the break kit itself failed.
As I told you guys about it. If you watch one
of the episodes, the threads just trying to just screwing the bolt on. You screw it on by hand. You
get it about halfway down. I put the wrench on it.
I started to go because you got to tighten it down.
And then you're supposed tork it down to thirty pounds.
I never got to even tork it down, and the nut just start spinning freely on the thread. I'm like,
it didn't make any sense to me, because its supposed to loa all the way down to hold the caliber from rocking back and forth on the thread. Right, makes sense?
So I call them, oh, you probably gave you, you know, just a bad bracket or something like that. They send them,
So I have to take everything apart, box it up, give them the bracket, wait from to send me another bracket. Anyway,
you guys understand, this happened several times in several different things.
Speaker 4: It's not that you could disconnect it. Once it was
bolted together. It would come the second one.
Speaker 2: Man. Remember, so we're taking apart a complete suspension because
I bought all new springs for it, new control arms, do everything. We're taking everything back apart again to get
things apart. And it's because you just keep right off right,
You're just on and off with it things. You just
don't want to be doing the new parts. I really
don't like to be taking things on and off, on and off, on and off. Hold a lot, buying the problem.
I'm buying bolts and stuff because I'm like, I want these bolts to be new. When they go in, I
can see where they and they just don't make bolts the way they used to. And some of these kids,
it's in nuts like they used to. So now I
get them on the phone, they send me another brack.
I put the back of the second bracket fails instantly, the same the first one did. So I called them
and I'm like, walk me through it. I think I've
told you guys all this story, but I'm just kind of giveing this quick. Tell me what I'm doing wrong.
This is what I've done so far. That's what I'm doing.
Is like, No, you seem like you're doing everything what the instructions say, like this what the instructions say. I'm
following your instructions even though I don't feel like I really need them. But I am literally following step by
step because I'm aggravated and it just doesn't work. We
carried the stuff to Seema with us to go to the break company's booths because we knew they were going to see it because we were supposed to go talk, which we thought about for a I didn't want to feel like I was sabotaging him, but I was just frustrated.
I talk with one of the executives, are telling the problem, we're gonna get to the bottom of it. Da da
da da. We get back here after Seema and so
now we're in October. From March to October, guys, this
is how long has went on. And they're like, we'll
get it squared away. So I sent them all pictures
everything I have to rebring everybody up to speed, all the receipts, everything I purchased. I did all everything I
believe I was supposed to do. The guy's like, I'll
get you taken care of and then he just disappears off the face earth. I've sent emails back and forth,
he was corresponding with me, and all of a sudden he just stopped responding to my emails because I was trying to get an RMA, which is a return slip, so I can. I'm like, let's get this solved. They
even said, hey, you send us the bracket and the caliber.
We'll send it to you, assemble it for you, and send it back to you. All you got to do
is just put the two bolts on the car. I'm like,
I don't care. My only ptory about that is if
I can't assemble it in my own garage, and if I ever have a problem and I whould you say, you're not going to them, I go to take it off and it won't strip right. That was my only worry,
but I was willing to do that. So I finally
contact the people who sold me the part, because remember they were a second party. They sold me the part
to the other company that has treat related product under their name, and they're like, what did you call them?
I'm like, I did. I had a contact. I gave
him all everything, all the information I've sent him, all my receipt show and everything I said, and he's just stopped contact with me. I don't know what to do
with this point in time. And they basically just go, well,
it's been over ninety days. It's not really our problem.
You'll have to go with them and see what they want to do for you. And wrong thing to tell me.
I lost my mind. I ain't gonna lie you, guys.
I was like, I have been delayed because of you guys.
Right wrong part, right part, wrong part again, right part.
All this has been going on for these months, and granted I will take the acceptance of it takes me a couple of weeks to get out in the garage and going throw it on. I'm not when the party show,
it doesn't make everything that there was a mistake on there, but all the mistakes are because of them. And I've
been very nice. I have not really lost my you
know what up until this point. And as she just
blew me off on the phone, She's like, no, no, not gonna do face ninety days and you know we're not really, We're not gonna do anything for you. You have to
go with them and see if they want to do anything for you. And my simple response was, and this
is important to make sure you have good credit card companies.
I said, I will call my credit card company and I will tell them that you did not hold up your end of the bargain. I said, Now we re
versus charges in a heartbeat if you don't do something at that point in time. I now have new parts
coming to me that they weren't going to send me originally.
But it should never had to get to that point because I don't feel like I did anything wrong as a customer. If I'm wrong. Like I said, guys, tell me,
I can't think of anything I've done wrong. I allowed
you to give me wrong parts. I allowed you to
correct your problem. You sent me wrong parts again. I
allowed you to correct your problem. What I probably should
do is the first time they were wrong, I should have boxed everything up, sent a back and go. You know,
I'm just gonna go with a completely different company. I'm
tired of this, and I didn't because I believed that you were going to correct the face same mistakes. And
now your mistakes are somehow my problem and my credit card company or versos charge w' a heartbeat. I'll have
all your product and not pay for it, and then you'll be like, oh cool, what do we do now?
Speaker 3: Yeah, we've talked about the company so much. We have
good stuff, and I've tried to stay positive. But that's
where we are on it. Just so you guys know,
fingers crossed, we get somewhere on it. I'll let you
know how it works out. But I suppose we have
some new parts coming.
Speaker 2: And if it doesn't work this time, I am throwing him probably in the trash and I'm just gonna go and spend another four thousand dollars on parts because I'm just over it. So unless you guys know how that
works out, I gotta take a quick comercial break. Wain,

Speaker 2: Hey, guys, welcome back. So is it any like mystery
to anybody that EV's electric vehicles? How to do that?
Because somebody was like, you guys say EV all the time?
What is that? I'm like, I thought everybody knew what
EV stood for. Maybe not. I don't know electric vehicle
that they're like not like hitting it that like the popularity like it's.
Speaker 3: Where you know, they're not really talking about it.
Speaker 4: I think the popularity is there, but like we've discussed, I think those that want it have already got it.
Speaker 2: No everybody.
Speaker 4: I don't think anybody's gonna jump on the bandwagon until we get really like you know, it becomes so good that it, you know, oversteps catsolan cars.
Speaker 2: So here's the interesting thing. So the reports are out
this week on electric vehicles and sales are tanking, and not that that's a big deal because we've talked about it before, but it is a big deal when auto manufacturers go, maybe we need to rethink this. Maybe maybe
we don't need to do away with gasoline cars as quickly as we thought we were going to. Uh, one
of the biggest ones. If you guys go and watch
look at the news this week, Dodge is talking about and not getting rid of the V eight charger. Really,
they're talking about going ahead and make it another one because nobody's interested in buying the electric charger and those that are are going to be a very small group of people, right, That's what they're afraid of. There are
things these cars, cars are not flying off the shelves the way that they thought they were.
Speaker 4: And here's well, and when the mandates are going away too, right, So like it's like they said, like from the design of car, it takes what ten years of you know, projecting developing in the technology all right now, right, but you know, let's just say it's ten years, right, And so you know when the man the mand aids were forcing you know, electric cars, but now they're going away, and.
Speaker 2: When now manufacturers aren't going to mandate it? Well, right,
well is that well, I mean.
Speaker 4: It's it takes as much resources, right, It's just not as you know, cost saving as we really thought.
Speaker 2: You had the last administration saying that you're going to drive an electric vehicle and you're gonna like it. I
don't care what you want. And now you have a
different administration that's going, okay, well, maybe we're not going to do that. We were not gonna make people force
something to have something they don't want, they have no interest in owning.
Speaker 4: Well, because we have to recreate everything right to develop you know, electric cars, make the batteries, you know all the minerals that go into it, and it's a different procedure than it is just making a gasoline car.
Speaker 2: I think that the problem that you run into right at this point in time is going to be real simple.
You can't. I said it years ago when we were
talking about you can't force feed people. If you force
feed a baby, what does it do? Throw up? That's right.
That's what everybody's doing about the idea of being forced wrong.
Speaker 4: I mean, eventually they'll just take it it. Look, babies
don't like cost sirrup, and you still make them take it.
Speaker 2: But they'll take it. I'm just saying, like, you can't.
I think it's interesting that now the manufacturers are going Okay, let's take a second look at this and go, maybe we we felt like we were being pushed because they weren't push isn't there? Maybe we shouldn't because the sales
aren't there. I told you, go look, guys, there is
parking lots full of cars, these cars, and people aren't buying.
There's not by we made it, but nobody wants them, like because as Nathaniel point out, those who want them already have them, you know what I mean, unless you're gonna go renew one and get a new model because you just want to have new model because it's like buying the new cell phone. I understand that craze for it.
But other than that, for a manufacturer who's been NonStop talking about we're getting rid of this and this is what we're doing to go, oh, let's take two steps back, and maybe we shouldn't do that because this isn't working out the way we thought of. That's up. That is
a big deal. I mean, it's a really big deal, guys.
I mean, and they're not the only one. You have
a lot of people looking at and they're like, like I said, the numbers are out for this week and EV sales and they're not what people thought they would be projected. They were going to be anywhere close to
what they were hoping they were going to be for a lot of different people in manufacturers, and they're like, Okay, we got to find a way to shore this up. Well,
the way to shore it up is if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Try to fix it. You could modify it,
but you it wasn't broken. You were trying to fix
something that wasn't broken.
Speaker 4: Well, I don't think the pros initially outweigh the cons.
I agree, and when and when they do, I feel like they will start downy shit right. And so but
you know when you still we still, you know, worrying about batteries and just the cause and the longevity.
Speaker 2: And the electric cars, and they're and one of the biggest things. They're like, he is there a charging station
anywhere out by you? I'm like nope. I'm like, well
there is, but it's not like right by me. But
I can tell you where the closest one is. Right, So,
when we're having that conversation, that means that that's a conversation they're having regularly. I don't own one, but if
you're asking me that, it means you're that's happening to you more than just a conversation you had with me, you know. I mean, like I said, my nephew, you know,
he bought a Tesla and they went cross country with a trip for months and went and saw these different places.
And one of the biggest problems they ran into was trying to find a place to charge a car or staying in a hotel that had a charge or syst Like a lot of hotels now have charging system at the hotel so you can charge it while you're sleeping, but they had to make sure the hotel they are going to that, you know. And I get that the
researcher goes into it right exactly.
Speaker 4: And I get that they're expanding all the superchargers and making it more accessible for those that have electric cars, right, but you know, when it comes down to the braxt tax of you know, you just fill up at a gas station anywhere, you know, like I said, the pros and the cars don't.
Speaker 2: Get to the West Coast, and you got these charging stations have like two hundred charging stations, which you don't see that out by us at least I haven't seen one anywhere near us like that. That's shows that maybe
in that area there's a huge need for that, but it isn't nationwide. Jet It's not Look, when I get
on the road and I drive, I'm not seeing you know, seventy percent electric cars. I mean, I'm just not seeing that.
You know, when I get to the point where I'm driving around and seventy percent of the cars on the road with me or electric cars, I'm going to tell you I see the movement, I see the switch. But
until we get to that point, we're just not there.
And nobody wants to be told they have to. It's
no different than being a kid like you probably would have did something in somebody. You know, if you if
you voluntarily in your own with the minute somebody told you and forced you want to do it, the resistance was there, You're like, I I don't care. I'm not
doing it right, Like I'm not joining the band right right.
So and that's just just like that anything, you know.
I just think it's interesting that, like I said, from a managed to fracture standpoint, that they're stepping back and going, Okay, let's take a look at our numbers. Because we're losing
money on this deal. Maybe we need to go back
to doing something different.
Speaker 4: What's good for the manufacturer, I feel like in some circumstances, but it's terrible for you know, the consumer.
Speaker 2: How so well.
Speaker 4: I mean just like when I was talking about like long jivty rights, Like you know, we know the batteries over time, right, we know whether right.
Speaker 2: Cars going to last so long?
Speaker 4: Right, disposable car exactly, So you know in my last twenty five years is but.
Speaker 2: Twenty five grand to put a back a manute. You're like,
I'm not spending that.
Speaker 4: Right, And like you know, like if you like, say, rent your car out or uber it, well, it's going to have a lot more you know, problems, I feel like, or it might die.
Speaker 2: I could never understand. I've had friends that tried to
do it and they stopped. They tried to do that
where they're buying a bunch of car and renting their cars out on like these different platforms and stuff. The
three people that I know that have tried it, it did not work out for them, Like it just they bought some cars and they put them out on that platform.
So I can't remember all the names of them, but you guys, remember I just don't remember all the names of all the platforms that have them, and the cars are getting tore up and things, you know, just the money costs to keep the cars decent versus like it just wasn't It wasn't the platform or the moneymaker idea.
I think they thought it was going to be. I
couldn't imagine doing that with an electric car, like renting my electric car out, because there's just so much that goes more to electric car as far as care and you know, making sure people don't tear your stuff up.
I mean, I don't know. Like so I saw today
luct Motors is like they're almost like gonna be like they want to be like kind of like the testa set up to a certain degree. They want to be
a supplier, not a car company. Okay, I because of
the technology they have stuff like that. They're still going
to make cars and sell cars, but that's not their like one off, that's not their main focused. They would
sell the technology, be a supplier of the technology, I guess, than be a car manufacturer, which is what I said.
I think, you know, Tesla would make bookoo dollars if they did that, and I hear.
Speaker 4: That, but they want to be a household name, right, So it's kind of like one of those things, like I think they want to be a household name.
Speaker 2: I told you guys, it makes a great car. I
think the car is beautiful, it's really nice. If you
guys have never seen one, I highly suggest you go take a look one. I've seen them up close. Ben
sat One Road in one. Your buy is just to
have it, not not to have it as a daily but I think it is more on a luxury side of electric car than it is. And everybody goes I
think a Tesla's nicer. I like Tesla only wrong. You
guys heard me say positive things about Tesla, but the loose so I was it was nice.
Speaker 4: I feel I like it's basic. There's not a lot
going on. It's just kind of you know.
Speaker 2: I don't disagree with you on that. I like. I like.
I like Tesla. I've been in some you know, I've
been in some nice ones, you know, And maybe because they were new, or maybe that's why I feel like they're nice. I don't know. And I I've seen all
the mixed reviews and I've seen people complain. I saw
somebody complain about a Tesla truck hitting a pole or something this week, and I'm like, Okay, it's going to happen.
It's a self driving mode. Things are going to happen
until they continue to propect propect we probably was even self driving motive driver. It's in the news. Like like
I said, when you're on the top of the mountain, everybody's up there trying to knock you down. I mean,
is it is what it is. And that's the biggest
reason probably I've probably been Tesla fan, uh for so long because I just believe in the concept, the idea, and I understand that it's very lonely at the top and people are constantly trying to kick your knees out from underneath you. So I get that theory of it.
But there's other Like I said, there's a lot of car companies are out there. You got to say, I
told you guys, you guys have never heard of that are constantly trying to build stuff. It's they're they're out
there really cars. The whole car buying ev regular cars,
all kinds of stuff. Market is changing so rapidly that
it seems like every six months there is a huge shift in a different direction, and we talk about it, and then six months later shifts in another direction. You
know what I mean. It's like we never know if
we're coming or going on that topic because it changes so much. And I get a lot of different comments
from you guys and emails and stuff like that asking me different questions. And the biggest reason why I don't
always have the exact answer for you guys on those topics because it is a switch up and down. Like
one of the biggest things that's in the news in the last couple of weeks is the cost of cars and how expensive they are and how to combat that, and some of the car companies as they're looking to figure out what to do in the electric vehicle market, they're starting to take a second look at the car market itself. That's our last segment for this show that
I'm going to talk about as soon as I take a quick commercial break. So when I take commercial break,
I'll come back and tell you how the car market's going to change a little bit, and we're going to start to follow that and see if it comes full circle.

I was alluding to the fact of there's a lot of change in the car market, and I tell you, guys, it changes a lot. So I want to I like
to say that manufacturers, I believe, are trying to get a little bit smarter. They're looking at their numbers like
everybody should be in everything in business, and they're trying to forget a way to combat that. I have complained
for a very long time about the cost of cars.
I've told you guys, I just think the cost of cars have gotten out of control. Can't believe you paid
ninety thousand dollars for an SUV nowadays. I just don't
think it's worth it. I'm at a little a miser when
it comes to money, but Nathaniel's really a miser when it comes to money. But it's a lot of money,
and I go, we need to have cars out there.
You guys heard me say it for years and we've had segments talking about it. We need to go back
to where the cars are affordable for people that are like in their mid twenties to early thirties, they want to buy a new car, but can't spend that kind of money on a car. I don't think anybody who's
twenty five to thirty years old needs to be locked up an eight or nine hundred dollars car payment. I
just don't think they need that. There's other things for
you to be doing in life to get your life started other than being locked up into that type of car payment. So I think maybe there's a little bit
of a light on the horizon manufacturers starting and to take a look. If you guys remember, and a lot
of you all do. And for those listen to the show,
I always say that who just find what we talk about intriguing? Buthich? Not big car people. You remember, there
used to be a lot of budget line cars out there.
They have since gone away. Know such thing the CenTra
used to be a budget friendly car. It's got to
be a point where it's expensive to have a CenTra.
The Cavalier. You hear me talk about mine all the time.
I liked mine. It was budget sensed, The Geometro, the
Honda Civic, all those cars were budget minded vehicle. Now
like you can't get them for under twenty while you're like thirty three thousand dollars into a fully loaded and.
Speaker 4: I feel like it's everybody trying to fill their pockets where they become. You know, the loan, the dealerships selling
you the cars. You make money on the car, Like
five times I changed that. You know, property tax. I mean,
you know, like I told you, like when I bought my car.
Speaker 2: You know, I probably ten thousand dollars extra money.
Speaker 4: Well, yeah, like you know, extra, yeah, ten grand almost extra when you pay the sales tax, you pay you know, you pay your property tax, you put you know, depend on what the insurance is going to charge you wise, I mean, we all need that stuff. But it's kind
of like everybody's just filling their pockets.
Speaker 2: And I didn't buy the new Corvette that he kept them trying to get me to buy. I'm like, I
like to have a new Corvette. I absolutely, one hundred
percent would love to have a new Corvette. I was like,
but it's gonna come with twenty thousand dollars the money on top of the car. By telling me, you know,
everything's said and done and I pay everything on I'm like, now it's one hundred and ten you know, ninety thousand dollars.
Now it's one hundred ten thousand dollars cars. And I
know you guys are gonna say they sell for one hundred ten thousand dollars anyway, But if you look in the right places, you can find them for people who have if if you don't know, I mean, I've never told you guys this, go look at car dealerships that are in middle of BFE. They can't move. But they're
required to take so many of something and they can't move those vehicles. There's better deals to be found on
the cars there. You might have travel a little bit
to go get it. But I can tell you right now,
your local dealership may sell a car for X amount of dollars. But if you go find one of these
smaller dealerships in a smaller town, sometimes there is fifteen thousand and twenty thousand dollars saving to have on a really expensive car because the name the car is being sold for way too much money in your area. It's
been all these markets and stuff like that, and they're just trying to move the product. They don't care because
they're still gonna make money.
Speaker 3: Bag of Toyota was really good by that bag of money really helps when you just pour it on the desk, you know it just really I can.
Speaker 2: Tell you that at locally back in the day, toilets were expensive, right So I told you guys that wereked the toilet dealership for a pretty short period of time, and they were not cheap back then. But if you
went three or four states away to small towns where they had one toilet dealership and one hundred mile radius, you could find really good deal on the same truck.
I was trying to sell you here because I used to go in the computer all the time because somebody wanted a particular vehicle in a particular color. I had
the vehicle, wrong color, right, and then right, and then I would go on the computer, and you know which is streamlined with inside our system, find the exact same vehicle, different color, and the price in you know, nowhere Wisconsin.
I'm just picking one's consent. I'm not picking on you guys.
I'm just saying I'm just picking them. I really show Tennessee,
I should say Tennessee, West Virginia, Arkansas. I'm trying to
think all the states I used to take them out of where they weren't moving, and the price on them were nowhere close to the price that we were selling them for for the same vehicle, same equipment, just a different color than the one I had on the lot.
Speaker 3: And then you guys who would marked them back up right right, that leadership wouldn't market right back up right.
Speaker 2: It just it just it just happened like it happened right.
They did they'd moved the vehicle over and then we just still sell for the same price as what we had ours in different color, know when we bought it for a lot less. But here's the thing with the dealerships,
for the most part, buy them all at the same price.
It's just what they decided to go ahead and mark what south. They're a business. They're not Toyota. Isn't Toyota
When you go a Toylet dealership, that's not to name.
And I'm gonna tell you right this second, have a problem when you buy a car and go to the dealership and they'll quickly tell you they're just a franchise. Really,
if they if it gets down to the brass tax. Now,
a lot of you probably will never have to deal with this, but I've had to twice in my lifetime get down to it. And when they basically to why
I'm just a franchise, you really have to get with the manufacturer. You are the manufacturer were in their Nope,
they just pay you to hang the sign on their building.
And they could be a Toyota at a day and Chevrolet tomorrows. But you know what I mean, that's wrong
to you seriously and I tell you, guys, I've had this happen two different on two different manufacturers where we had a serious problem. We had a lemon and we
couldn't get the problem resolved. And then finally the dealership
pulled the not my problem. I'd just sell their vehicles
for them. I'm a franchise. And then, of course Ford
didn't like to hear it was Ford. Ford didn't like
to hear that that was the problem. So they had
to get one of their people from National involved in the executive team and all that kind of stuff to try to get involved to solve the problem. But I
never I never really realized that they could pull that card on you. I had no idea they could go,
now my product, now my problem, not my problem. That's
why I did. I just sell them for them, you
know what I mean. And that's what they did. And
after some research and we went we found that there's a lot of truth to that. Now it was the
best way for them to handle the business. No, they
should have probably solved the problem because the vehicle had a serious problem. Day one, by the way, the vehicle
had a serious problem, and we took it back and we're like, look, the car has a problem. If you
guys remember I had the problem with my Chevy truck.
I bought my Chevy truck, not the one I'm driving now, but one looked just like it, and the motor started tapping in the first weekend I owned it, and I mean tapping. It was knocking brand new truck. That truck
had three five miles on or something like that. When
we picked it up and then motor start knocking. I
took the kids out for the weekend. We went to
go play paintball, and I started up at the paintball field the and just started knocking on me. I'm like,
that's not good. Of course I checked in the head,
oil and everything else, but something seriously went wrong, and they were trying to pin it into a Chevrolet problem, not the dealership problem. And I'm like, I bought it
from you. I didn't buy it. I didn't go to
like a factory and buy my truck. I bought it
from you. This should be your issue. Well, we have
to have a rep and come out and take a look.
And they're just backing away from it. And I just
couldn't believe for the second time my life by a manufacturer backing out and you guys asked, what did you do buying a Ford, because you guys know I'm a Chevy guy. It was we were buying it as a
company truck, and that was a whole nother story on the truck need to be used.
Speaker 4: That's why I recommend when you at least get a brand new car, that you take it to the dealership and let them do the small maintenances for at least like the three years actually, so that when they say, oh, well they try to use the car, we took it somewhere else. Well, no, I take you too bout way right. Yeah,
they're right, but now they you know, it's all on them.
Speaker 2: They can't.
Speaker 4: They can't you know, put anybody else in the mix.
It's just between you and them, and it's you know, obviously they had to do something wrong.
Speaker 2: I just I hated the fact that you buy something and vehicles are so expensive and people have people backing out and they.
Speaker 4: Just like that's in their hand of it. I'm just like, well,
that's like we just talked about the break problems. Don't
want they don't want to want to have your problems or service. Customer service is really important to me. I
just it's a big thing for me. Stand behind your
products a big thing for me. But like I said,
you get in that situation now, the fact that the manufacturers are taking a look and they're going, Okay, maybe we need to get back to producing cheaper cars so people like people of a certain age group can afford them.
Speaker 2: I think we're going to see a little repeal in that.
I think we're going to see they're going to really start looking at that and going maybe we did because you don't have the geo metros, you don't have cavaliers, you don't have any of the cheap those. I mean,
like back, guys, there was a day in my time, like when I was buying, you could buy a Cavalier on the basic bottom bottom for like eighty nine hundred dollars brand new. I mean, you know what I mean. Like,
and I understand I spent some years since then, but still if we double that, right, let's just say you're double and you still get a brand new car. We're
nowhere close to that on anything. That's as far as
I'm concerned that I can see out there worth having.
We need to get back to that point. So young
people are starting off their life, have the privilege of having something nice new and understand ownership and all that kind of stuff. It's important we get there. And like
I said, the fact that I think the manufacturers starting to take a little bit of a look at it, I think could be a good thing. If you disagree
with me, you know where to send your emails and tell me you disagree with me, well, I mean message whatever, it don't matter.
Speaker 4: I think the question is though, right, So like for them to get maybe down to that price, would you I mean, I know it depends to different people wise, but like, would you like at least back then, right, you could get certain upgrades that kind of you know, took the price down.
Speaker 2: You know, today we don't really have that luxury right window option?
Speaker 4: Right is that you know, basic stuff like that options like yeah you can ugrade like the Exhaus and all all that.
Speaker 2: But you know, touch screens.
Speaker 4: But back in the day, like you know, it was just like you said, roll up windows and you know all the small the things you know, maybe you know, blinker turn signals or.
Speaker 2: Things back then, So let's just have power windows versus roll up windows. I think it was only it was
only like five hundred and fifty five dollars add on.
That's I know this a little bit on certain cars because I look to have it at it and because everything's already there, so that's like all you gotta do is add electronics, which is usually a lot of times the wires are still in the dash already. They just
don't give me that it's applying exactly to work. And
a lot of cars are like that. And I told
you guys years ago, I think every car should be a plug and play. I think you should get be
able to buy a basic car. It's plug and play,
and you want into it later. It's already there, the
wires already ran. All you gotta do is plug the
switches in, clicking in, maybe change the door cards, whatever it may be. I don't care what you gotta do,
but simple things. That's how we should make all of
our cars. I believe that. I just my personal back it.
Speaker 4: So do you think that the what they should do is basically, you know, make it more simpler and just give simpler options.
Speaker 2: I start. I think we should start off with simple
cars so people can afford to have a new car, and if you want to add a bunch of stuff to it, then you can add it. The XP when
it first came out of the Toyota XP is start off basic and it had a huge catalog went with it and you could add anything you wanted to it.
I always thought that was a good idea. I can't
say that vehicle exactly was really cheap off the get go, but the concept of the idea of doing that I thought was a great idea. I had a friend that
had one, and he had everything I think in the catalog.
So but that was his choice, right right. I don't know,
Like I said, you guys saw what you think. I
think we need to get back to the point where cards a little more affordable for everybody, so everybody has a right to appreciate ownership of something new. On that note, guys,
I couldnt believe that it is blown by. The show's
