which saw a challenge to Dali.

Just a reminder, a car that I own.

Sell for $1.8 million.

in saying that people have theoretically paid this money.

A 918 Spyder for $6 million.

And these are all multiples of previous records for these cars.

So not only the above sort of market value,

it's like two, three times their previous record sales.

We do have to give a quick shout out to a friend of the show,

Froyo Khetze, David Lee, who bought that white 250GTO.

$78.5 million, which actually is kind of...

Where it should be.

You know, of course, we hear about

$2.4GTO is going for $50 million and things like that.

But seemingly, from those in the know...

Because he would have an idea of what they're worth then,

because he owns a lot of them.

Because imagine if you sold an Enzo last week for 2 mil

and you're going, oh, my God, why didn't I put it

in the meat auctions?

that he signed that had done 12 miles

from the factory gates, the Fiorano test track,

and like, you know, whatever.

as if the charitable part had gone out the window.

Which now makes way more sense is, you know,

it's an incentive for their advantage

that the cars go for the money they did

because they have a financial interest in the cars.

and off the back of literally that Meekam auction,

being last week in that car going for $1.8 million,

that car, okay, $33,000 is a lot.

But that car, compared to the delivery mileage car that went for $1.8 million,

that car should go for $700,000 easily.

If it goes for the under the estimate of $354,000,

then Meekam was just a weird money laundering bizarreness.

people don't think I do, but I've done 13,000 or that car

has 13,000 miles on the clock now.

So you've done six or 7,000 miles, I think.

Wow.

And it really is my daily.

And I love it and I love using it as a daily,

but it is a bit over the top.

It's annoying in terms of its left hand drive

going in and out of car parts.

Of course.

And it's just a bit stuck in traffic, Christmas shopping,

going in between family and things like that.

Science is a bit crazy.

And the GT3 can't really, it's not practical enough.

And the Stradalea, I'm just not taking it out like that.

Where is that car?

So I was like, I should probably try and borrow something

from a very generous manufacturer

just to increase comfort and practicality over the winter period.

So I went to the legends at Porsche GB,

This is a Porsche unofficial podcast and said,

look, have you got anything lying around that is practical?

I want something practical.

And they went, we've got a Taycan.

So I was like, so I didn't hear you anything.

But no, to be fair, I was like, yeah, it sounds great

because I love the Taycan.

I was just like, I'm just a bit nervous

because I'm really not set up to have an EV.

The charges at home,

which were put in by the developer of the property,

never really work.

I don't even know.

You don't have an EV?

Where are they?

Well, and the studio don't have a charger.

Yeah, yeah.

And I don't, I haven't lived with an EV enough

to really know which public charges to use.

And I'm not good in that.

I don't have that rhythm of like, just, you know,

charge before you go.

So I was like.

I just worry that I'm going to have a bad experience

from the charging point of view.

But screw it.

I like the car.

When I picked it up, initially it was like,

yeah, it looks great.

I just like the Taycan.

It's all very comfortable.

Looks great.

Is it charged?

Yeah.

Yeah, yeah.

That's what I was going for.

And well, I mean, let's just skip ahead.

Largely, very positive experience.

The car is great.

Yeah.

But I don't think we've ever disputed that.

I still struggled to have an evious part of my lifestyle.

I did 1,000 miles.

Wow.

Over the two week Christmas period.

We've done well.

I had that loan.

Yeah.

So and sporadic miles, right?

That's not like every day I was doing 100 miles.

Like I would do like 250 miles one day and then 10 the next.

How many times should you charge it?

1,000 miles.

Many times.

I would say eight or nine times.

I'll ask you another question.

How much did it cost you in?

Oh, a lot because I was using public charges.

So it's minimum 50 quid a go and that's 20 to 80 percent.

I did get better at doing like, oh, I'll just charge for a quick 20 minutes

and get 50 miles and keep going.

But that meant I was constantly charging because I was doing lots of miles.

Even if I set off for my journey or my adventure or whatever I was doing

with 80 or 90 percent charge from home in a vertical bus,

I was always going to have to charge again at some point

because on about 80 or 90 percent,

I was getting 220, 230 miles max.

Okay.

And that is better than the that is better than the old model though,

because I remember this time about two or three years ago,

I had exactly the same car.

Okay.

And I was doing max 160, 170 on a charge.

Full charge.

Yeah.

Okay.

So yes.

And I think that's about right.

So it's got better.

Yeah.

And they were quite accurate.

If it said 210 miles, I did 250 or something like that.

So that was okay.

But I just felt like I was charging all the time.

All the time.

It felt like I was driving around in a V12 Italian supercar.

The amount of times I was having to refuel it.

But obviously just and again,

charging time from a 20 to 80 percent,

most 150 kilowatt charges that were giving me 90 to 110 kilowatts,

that meant about 40 minutes for a charge realistically.

So yeah, for my lifestyle doesn't really fit,

which is annoying because...

You wanted it to.

Yes.

I sort of, because I enjoyed having a car that was comfortable and quiet

and just user friendly.

And I claimed spacious.

Everyone gave me a hard time for saying that car was spacious.

It is spacious in my opinion.

I thought it was spacious.

It was like, no.

Have you sat in the back?

I was like, no, because I was driving it.

I'm driving it.

It's a four door stack car.

Like for me and my lifestyle,

it was very spacious and very practical,

like really usable and everyone was like, no, I'm so not spacious.

To me, it's got more room inside than the J.

That's a good comparison.

Yeah, definitely.

And the J's got loads of room.

It's got loads more space.

And like anyways, I'm not going to get caught up in that.

For me, from my experience, it was fun.

I wanted it because I suddenly went,

it's nice having just a normal car.

Just a car.

That's not a normal car.

It's like 130 grand Porsche.

But yes, a sort of uncomfortable, quiet.

In the context of what you own, it is normal.

Yes.

And I kind of hoped that I was going to enjoy this experience

so that I could go and get,

you know, one of those leases you see on TV that,

you know, 200 pounds a month

and you can get a Renault 5 on your driveway.

You know, like, I'll tell you what,

I'll tell you what our good news at the moment.

Bloody i5 BMWs, they're bloody for nothing.

Really?

Like 400 quid a month.

It's quite nothing.

But yeah, okay, fine.

For the car, yes.

But it is for nothing, mate.

A bloody hatchback is £400 a month now.

I did love that i5 when I had it, to be fair.

But I had that S-Class the other day, that unbelievable S63 AMG.

I just thought it was unbelievably comfortable and quiet.

it's not so low to the ground and it's not as sporty

that you don't notice it as much.
