I'm just taking a while to kind of ramp up the content output, but that's fine. I'm okay with that. Good. You know what? 10 plus years being on social media, I've allowed myself to not stress about the algorithm.

I think we're talking 800 odd horsepower.

A lot of weight.

A lot of money.

Yeah, so I think the one we're driving is 200 grand.

But that is the money now.

I mean, you forget, mate.

I know it's not a direct competitor.

But you remember that old AMG GTR that I had?

That was 160 grand in 2018.

The thing is, I don't know why it feels like externally, not looking at sales numbers,

that new AMG GT has missed the mark a little bit.

Why?

Because do you not feel like the previous shape was so successful, so popular?

A car that loads of people loved.

Love the idea of people went out and bought whether it was new or used great value on the used market.

You had loads of them.

Loads of them.

Various different versions.

Paul Wallace had various different versions.

I wanted one when it launched.

It was an iconic Formula One safety car.

Just, you know, did a lot of good for market AMG.

This new one, I barely see them around.

There's not much chat, at least in the circles that I run in about them.

I don't know, just by making it heavier, more usable, four seats for all-wheel drive.

I feel like it's not actually the direction people wanted that car to go in.

Am I wrong?

It all depends on what it competes with.

If that big fast thing that we're going in next week competes with what you say it does,

I would put that more in line with the Bentley as well.

That's a good point, very good point.

I always think a luxurious Mercedes is more towards a Bentley customer than a Porsche customer.

Because a Porsche is way more dialed in, essentially, compared to most Mercs, to be fair.

Apart from the AMG GT-R or the AMG Pro.

Previous generation, yeah.

But the AMG GT, the standard GT, always used to look at that car and think,

well, that's a good value for Mully Bentley, that car.

Because it was nice and compliant.

I think the reason why we don't see their mother cars anymore is just the value difference, the price difference, mate.

They're too expensive for what they are.

I don't think they're too expensive for what they are, because you can say that about most cars nowadays.

Like, everything's too expensive for what they are.

Mercedes have always been a premium, expensive brand.

But I just think, in general, like, it's expensive, 200 grand for a...

But it's like the Roma, the Bentley, the Turbo S.

I mean, it's in line with the pricing of all the other cars that it's competing with.

Well, I would take the Roma out, mate, because you're talking about base price,

but no one buys a base price Roma.

The Roma is like...

not disappointing,

but if you're spending 200 grand on a sports GT car,

maybe you want something with a bit more of a sports GT badge.

but it is still just a Merc.

You're taking your car into servicing

against the diesel A-class.

There's just one thing they didn't do quite right.

There was no carpet for us.

We didn't tell anyone though, man.

Because there would have been two people there if there was.

Anyway, really cool setup.

If you don't know about Mount Tune,

because actually I think we didn't know

about it.

Obviously I've sold a lot of Mount Tune cars over the years,

you know, hot hatches and stuff,

which is what I was really familiar with what they did.

But you know what you're reminding me of?

And I never really think of this stuff until I leave,

normally.

Because I'm like my mouth's three seconds out of my brain.

That's the problem.

True that.

Yeah, I don't really think of stuff.

And then when I actually redo what we've done,

you know, it reminded me of.

It reminded me of like the catering factory.

Like very light in-house,

bit like what Lotus used to be.

Sort of, yeah.

It had a family business feel.

Yeah, proud to be British.

Like you walk in there,

like it's just British engineering.

What we should be proud of.

Unbelievably impressive though.

Because like you, obviously I've seen Mount Tune badges

on Focus RS's and things like that over the years.

I guess for most people,

that's how they'll know the name.

Because they are one of the best,

one of the most iconic tuners of Fords,

amongst other things.

And to a point where they were Fords official tuner

at one stage.

But their heritage and history is actually in motorsport.

And they have built or developed engines

for some of the most iconic race cars ever.

You know, WRC cars driven by Colin McRae and people like that.

Touring cars.

They're still building development engines for race series

like the GB3, GB4 single seaters.

And we went into the engine workshop

and we were like, oh my God, this is unbelievably cool.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Well, as you say that,

the bit that probably impressed me the most

was when we went into that engine room

and they were testing a GB4 or GB3 engine.

And it's on a bench.

And we know that this happens all the while.

But when you actually see it in motion

and see it in a factory,

no matter how big or small the factory is,

it's impressive mate.

It's super impressive.

Because it's a computer that literally runs the engine up

for however long, two hours, three hours,

however long they decide to run it up for.

And every engine that goes into a car

has that running in period.

And it's bloody brilliant.

Yeah, really, really impressive.

And then you know, that room of disguise

is basically putting engine blocks together

and heritage engines that they're running in, you know,

heritage development.

It's just a really cool space.

But yeah, we were down the predominate

because I was collecting this range adapter

which they've developed.

So they're calling their M400 upgrade

or package four.

The range adapter in the UK and Europe,

shockingly, is limited to 290 horsepower.

Really slow.

I had no idea.

It's all emissions related.

But we loved that truck.

We did.

We experienced it for the first time with

good old legend Dan Bowden from Australia.

Shout out Dan if you're still listening.

We loved Dan.

So just to give a bit of storytelling segue here,

during our Australia tour a few years ago,

we were connected with Dan Bowden from Bowden's own,

who are a car cleaning company.

That's sort of underselling them.

Like AutoGlim in the UK.

Yeah, exactly.

Do a whole range of products.

But he is a character to say the least

about our time then.

We ended up driving his 2.7 RS

and his 3 RS 4 litre.

Unbelievable on a rainy day when a huge bug

is just like an absolute legend.

But the first night we got there, he said,

let's go into town and grab some dinner.

And we all jumped into his range adapter

and I literally looked at you and I was like,

I need one of these.

Because he had the full-blooded 400 horsepower variant.

I remember before we got there,

we were both very nervous

about staying in his house.

We'd never met this guy.

You said, mate,

I don't know what to expect here.

But he was instantly,

as soon as we met him,

he made us feel so welcome.

The nicest guy.

I actually miss him.

Yeah, we had 24 hours with him when he was great.

But the range adapter got into my bloodstream there.

And I've always kept something,

but I just had no idea that here in the UK

and in most of Europe,

they're just running so concentrated on power.

So mountain, yeah,

figured out how to unleash the 400 horsepower

and actually even a little bit more torque

than they get in the rest of the world.

I actually get the 400 horsepower.

As in they unlock it through a tune,

not a chip tune, that's what you were talking about.

Through an upgrade.

It's a plug-in and play device.

It literally gets a little yellow box,

plug into the OBD reader,

got an app on your phone, boom, boom, boom,

do the flash and it's updated.

It literally takes like,

we were sitting in the car whilst they did it.

I know that, but the audience weren't.

So that's why I'm asking.

Yeah, so super easy and it means you can also

put it back to stock really easily too.

They offer a warranty package as well

if you want to pay a little bit extra,

they can fully warranty that.

But no, it's just really cool

and the truck was a beast.

Oh my God, we've got this miserable weather

in the UK at the moment,

but everyone's like that large with that much power.

You just run over them.

Sorry, I'm coming.

But it's cool and I just felt manly,

felt manly driving around.

It's probably the only vehicle

or one of the only vehicles

that you don't worry about potholes

because obviously this time of year

like every road you go down,

especially country roads, there's bloody potholes

and at the moment because it doesn't stop raining,

they're filled with water.

So you don't actually know if they're pothole at all.

Which is dangerous.

There's what's called a ravine.

I've come through it.

So yeah, huge thanks to Manchin for that.

The interior reveal of the Ferrari Luce.

I think in May they've said full reveal.

But they revealed the interior design language.

What do we think?

Well, I know what you think,

but I'm asking for the audience's benefit.

I think it's genius, if I'm honest.

Mainly because nowadays,

cars are all haptic and touch screens

and no buttons.

And obviously,

Ferrari making

an electric car

is not ideal for petroids.

When you look at Enzo Ferrari's

catchphrase of,

I don't sell cars, I sell engines.

Well, not anymore, you don't.

Sell batteries.

So what the engineers have obviously thought of is that,

are we going to bloody sell these cars?

Because ultimately that's what they've got to do.

They've got to try and sell them.

So I know what we do.

We'll make it look like a retro

60s.

And we've seen this mate with the Fiat 500,

the Beetle.

The Renault 5s.

Lots of these cars that were old

hat in the 60s and the 70s.

They've now come back as modern electric cars,

essentially.

And I think Ferrari have jumped on that bandwagon.

I'm sure we've spoken about it before.

It feels like

all these manufacturers are going to have to lean on their

heritage moving forward because

cars are becoming fundamentally

more and more similar.

They're the same.

Yeah, across the board they're driving cars,

everything's accessible, easy to use,

same technology, Apple CarPlay.

They can be a good boot.

Across the board, whether it's electric or hybrid,

there's less and less identifiable characteristics

about these cars.

Yeah, they've been making,

like, when you even look at, like, hot hatches.

So if you look at a Golf R, an S3,

an A35 Mercedes, the BMW M1 M135,

they're all 300 horsepower, electronic four-wheel drive.

They're all the same.

All does the same thing.

They're all the same.

So apart from being attractive.

Just the badge.

The badge, the brand, always in their heritage design.

What else has got to go on?

and the car had had issues.

with, you know, just the most impeccable modern...

McLaren F1 GT-Rs, Gordon Murray T-50s.

Love it.

They're amazing, amazing, amazing cars.

And then sort of other dealers from around Europe,

showing things like, you know, rare one-off Tester Rosses.

Just cool stuff.

A floor below that with sort of some manufacturer-level presence,

from Ducati to Peugeot to Volkswagen.

And then a sort of memorabilia floor with...

Just as a real enthusiast, a great way to spend a day.

Whether Geneva Motor Show was a bit more industry-feeling,

this is like punter-level.

You've never been so close to X, Y or Z.

A little bit rope and posty.

You have to kind of be invited onto some stands and stuff, which I get.

But I think even if you are just a punter who buys a ticket...

They will break because they're machines.

you get a two year lease

on a 300 pound a month car.

You're burning the same cash,

but you're obviously not going back.

You might get half back,

but then you're going to...

Don't forget the maintenance across that period of time too.
