The host gives a quick weekend update, then shifts into SubaruGear promotions and event news. There’s a discount code and free-shipping threshold for listeners, plus a note that SubaruGear content is moving toward real product demos instead of just website images. The episode also tees up Overland Expo West in Flagstaff next week, with the Subaru booth reportedly in a better spot this year. A side note mentions a possible video project with the Back9 owner and a search for UGC creators.
Today I talk about going up to Kelli's house and her epic prank she pulled on me, then my experience at a place called The Back Nine, a golf simulator here where I live.

This is the sponsor’s website. They sell Subaru-themed items, and the host is telling you where to shop and watch product videos.
SubaruGear.com is the sponsor’s website for Subaru-themed gear and accessories. In this segment, the host is promoting it and pointing listeners to where they can see products in use.
"But so I'm looking forward to going there. If you are going to be going to Overland Expo West
[430.4s] and Flagstaff, come by the Subaru booth
[432.9s] and say hi to everybody."
Overland Expo West is an event where people who like road trips into the outdoors get together. You can usually see off-road/overland vehicle setups, meet vendors, and learn how to plan trips.
Overland Expo West is a large outdoor event focused on overlanding—traveling with vehicles equipped for remote roads and camping. It typically includes vendor booths, vehicle builds, and educational sessions for people who want to plan trips and gear up.
"If you are going to be going to Overland Expo West
[430.4s] and Flagstaff, come by the Subaru booth
[432.9s] and say hi to everybody."
They’re saying to stop by the Subaru booth at the event. That’s Subaru’s display area where you can talk to people and learn about their cars and gear.
The speaker is inviting listeners to visit the Subaru booth at Overland Expo West. A “booth” is the branded display area where a company showcases products, answers questions, and promotes its vehicles and accessories.
"If you are going to be going to Overland Expo West
[430.4s] and Flagstaff, come by the Subaru booth
[432.9s] and say hi to everybody."
Flagstaff is where the event is being held. It’s a popular outdoor area, so it makes sense for an overlanding event.
Flagstaff is the location mentioned for the event. For overlanding fans, the area is known for access to mountain roads and outdoor destinations that make it a natural fit for vehicle-and-camping culture.
"Anyway, I hope to see you out there and check it out. And then also there's three more events after that. And then of course, we've got Subifest events that are going to be starting up soon."
Subifest events are Subaru-themed gatherings. The host is telling listeners to keep an eye out because more of them are starting soon.

Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Subi Scoop.
Of course, because of what the date is today, I have to say, may the 4th be with you.
For those of you that know, you know, and I hope that most of you know, you should know.
Come on.
Okay, now that I'm done geeking out, I hope everybody had a great weekend.
Maybe some people will be watching some Star Wars marathons today.
That would be cool, wouldn't it?
I may have to do that.
I may this evening, I may have to watch some Star Wars.
At least one of them.
Anything.
Anything Star Wars today.
Come on.
So, I hope you all had a good weekend.
I had a good weekend and I actually had a long week because I went up to Kelly's house
on Friday, April 24th, and I didn't come back until Saturday, the second, May 2nd.
So, I was up there for just over a week and that was really, really nice.
And I'm glad that I was able to do that.
All right, so every time I met her house, she and her daughter get together and pull some sort of prank on me.
And I had been there for most of the week.
I had been there for several days and I was thinking like,
this is weird because they haven't pulled a prank on me at all.
And then on, I think it was on Friday when I was there, she showed me this video,
or maybe it was Saturday, Friday or Saturday.
She showed me this video of her pouring water in front of the refrigerator right below the door.
And I was like, what is going on?
Because she was telling me that the refrigerator was leaking.
And I was looking underneath the refrigerator with a flashlight.
I was feeling under the doors.
I looked up videos to try to figure out where it might be coming from,
what might be happening, why it's leaking.
And it was her the whole time pouring water in front of the refrigerator every day
and saying she didn't know what was happening and she got me.
She got me again and they were both in on it.
So, yeah, that was a good prank.
But then, of course, I had to leave and leave her and her daughter and the pranks behind.
I came back on Saturday, hung out with Luke Saturday night,
and then Sunday, we went and checked out this indoor,
well, of course, it was an indoor place, but checked out this Golf Simulator
because it's a brand, it's franchised, it's called Back9, or the Back9.
And they are looking to hire some UGC creators to create content for them.
So the owner contacted me and we're going to talk this week
about trying to get a video put together for him.
So I'm hoping that will go well.
But anyway, he had given me a discount code to come check it out
and play free for an hour.
So that was nice.
And I hadn't swung golf clubs in, I don't know, maybe two years
because I just don't play.
I'm not a golfer.
I like it.
It's fun, but it's expensive and I don't have golf clubs
and I don't really have any friends that play golf.
So I don't ever go.
But I went with Luke and tried to teach him a little bit,
like from my limited knowledge and he did all right.
But I remember the first time I tried to play,
I really, really sucked trying to hit the ball.
You know, you top it off, you miss it completely.
But he did pretty decent.
So I was proud of that.
And I did, I think I did pretty good for not having played
in a long time.
But I have a friend that used to play a lot.
I don't know if he's still good.
We haven't talked in a long time, but he was really good.
And so because he used to play a lot with his dad
and he played in tournaments and stuff.
So he was the one that taught me the stance
and how to swing and everything.
So I pretty much owe everything that I've learned to him.
So it was a pretty cool experience.
And I'll go back there again.
I think it was pretty fun because you don't have to worry
about what the weather is.
And it's open 24 seven.
It was a little odd because it was a place where
I don't think there was any staff there.
Like maybe, I think maybe somebody was there.
Because I saw a guy walking around and maybe he is the owner
that I talked to, but I'm not sure.
I didn't introduce myself or anything
because I wasn't sure that's who it was.
But anyway, it was a pretty cool experience.
So if you have a back nine near you, again,
they're franchised and they're all over the place.
And you like golf, go look it up and check it out.
Speaking of looking things up and checking them out,
go check out SubaruGear.com.
I hope that y'all are enjoying the videos
that I've been putting together for them
because I wanted to start doing something different
for a really long time.
All I was doing was snagging images from the website
and throwing them up in a reel.
But I told them that I want some actual products
so that I can actually show them and have them on hand
and demonstrate them.
If it's a shirt, I can wear it.
If it's a hat, I can wear it.
If it's a backpack, I can wear it.
And that way you can actually see the product
a little bit better, see it in use.
And I've been having a lot of fun.
So that's what I'm going to continue to do with SubaruGear.
But if you haven't been there for a while
or if you've never been or if you go a lot,
go check out SubaruGear.com, fill up your cart,
use the code SUBEYNDU2026 at checkout
to get 20% off your entire purchase.
And if your total is over $50 after the 20% discount,
you'll automatically get free shipping,
which I think is huge.
So be sure to fill up your cart
to be able to take advantage of the free shipping.
So and thank you so much SubaruGear.com
for sponsoring the SUBEYNDU podcast.
Again, I'm putting the videos out on Tuesdays,
but I'm also putting some stuff out here and there
whenever I kind of feel like it.
But my main post will be on Tuesdays.
So be sure to look for those.
As a reminder, Overland Expo West
and Flagstaff is coming up, it's next week.
I was thinking about that earlier.
I was like, I can't believe I'm going to be traveling
next week and going to Overland Expo
because I've been anticipating it
and now it's almost here.
And I'm excited to go to the event.
I haven't been crazy about the traveling part,
you know, having to pack and make sure you have everything
and go to the airport and do all of that.
But of course, once you get there,
then everything's cool and it's worth it.
But so I'm looking forward to going there.
If you are going to be going to Overland Expo West
and Flagstaff, come by the Subaru booth
and say hi to everybody.
And if you've never been to Overland Expo
and you've been thinking about it,
if you're on the fence, you should do it.
It's a lot of fun.
And, you know, at least come check it out for one day.
And, you know, if you're in a situation
like if you're close enough,
you can just come out for the day.
If not, there's some camping sites,
I believe that are nearby.
And there are hotels that may already be booked up.
So I don't know if that's an option.
Either way, if you can make it, come out,
check it out, come say hello.
And I'm looking forward to seeing some people again
that I haven't seen in a while.
And of course, I'm looking forward to meeting new people.
Overland Expo last year was a lot of fun.
And I'm really excited about it.
The booth for Subaru has actually
hit a much better spot this year, they said.
Last year, it was in a spot where there was a lot of just dirt around us.
And it was really windy.
I mean, everything was getting covered in dirt and dust.
And like the insides of all the cars at the booth
were just covered in dust.
All of our gear, like we were covered in dust,
it was kind of miserable.
But we're in a better spot this time.
So I'm looking forward to that.
Anyway, I hope to see you out there and check it out.
And then also there's three more events after that.
And then of course, we've got Subifest events
that are going to be starting up soon.
So be sure to be on the lookout for that as well.
But thank you all so much for tuning in to another edition
of the Subi Scoop.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
And we'll talk to you later.
Much Subi love, RAF.
