hanging out with Karen, Chaos and abb Hey, it's Saturday out there at least at the weather's kind of whole enough at rain yesterday that was awful.
Hopefully where you guys are at the weather is good. But I know a
lot of people have been starting to send me stuff over all the car shows that are gonna start happening, and they're popping up at like twenty seven different requests now, so all different types of car shows so it's gonna be good.
It's gonna be great season. I'm getting kind of excited. I'm a
little on the weather today. Man. I tell you what, I don't
know. I think there's a bug going around for everybody. So you' all
gonna have to bear with me because I'll tell you what this one gets you.
So be safe out there, Wash your hands, make sure makes you make sure you using all kinds of Washington agents and all kinds of stuff.
But yeah, something something's gotty, man. I don't know what it is.
It's been all week long, but it's been an interesting week. Spent
a lot of time kind of talking back to people on forums and stuff because car new has been a little bit light this uh this week. But it's
interesting some of the stuffs that are out that's out there. One of the
big topics right this second is uh and it does every tax here, it comes back around. You know, people get tax money, they start looking
to buy a car, right, I mean they got extra income. If
you if you're one of the lucky ones that didn't you know that, oh you know they didn't. Oh and you know, people something a bunch of
messes like it does it seem like the car price is just out of whack this year, and I'm like, yeah, they've come down a little bit, but there's still not enough. They're still pretty crazy. The used car
prices is still pretty crazy. New car price is still a little crazy.
I mean there's deals that we had, don't get me wrong. I mean
you I mean, you catch the dealer on the right day and you'll find yourself a deal. But you know a lot of people send me messages and
they're complaining about it, and there's like, you know, I remember when you speak to like just a year and a half ago, and I'm like, nah, it wasn't a year and a half ago. So it's been
a little longer than that. Because car price has been a little crazy.
I remember when we tried to buy the Toyota more like three four Yeah, yeah, I'd say three or four years ago. You know, we had
to definitely negotiate and stuff. And then when we bought a fanos car,
there was definitely some negotiation on that. But I mean, it's it's just
one of those things of do we think we're ever going to get out of it? No, everything's gone up, guys, I mean you know,
I mean, well, to a certain degree though, right, I mean the biggest problem you have right the second is everything's gone up, so it trickles into everything. I mean that's just common. But when it comes into
cars, car repair and all that kind of stuff, it really is kind of hitting the market. You know. I know, you know, I
bought I want to go buy brakes the other day. And what I normally
would buy the brake pads for on the car usually like what for platinum, you know, brake pads ceramic whatever, like thirty nine bucks, and you know, now they're like just touching sixty. I mean it's a little bit
different. Everybody's like, oh, it's the brand you bought, and I'm
like no, I mean I pretty much go to the same place buy brake pads all the time. They're all you know, different cars to get it,
I understand, but they're normally within you know, i'd say five to ten dollars of each other, not you know, thirty dollars difference. I
mean, so so yeah, it's it's affecting. Now. Think about if
you're doing like a complete tune up or you you know, on your car or something like that, and every part has gone up that multiplies for everything, and now it becomes like a bigger building you ever thought it was going to be. And I think people have had a little bit enough of everything
going up. But you know, car repair gets expensive quick. I mean,
there's just no way around it. Uh, camera knows. They don't
even get me started. My car is supposed to be going back into the
shop again. So yeah, like they say, it's cheaper always doing some
repairs, you are. It seems like you always doing repairs, but it's
cheaper today than it is tomorrow. Well, yeah it is. So you
know, there's there's repair and there's rended a maintenance. We've talked about that
a thousand times. Maintenance is a lot cheaper than a broken repair nine ten
times. Everybody's like not always depends on what it is. Okay, I'll
read you it depends on what it is. But for the most part,
if you're doing prevented a maintenance a your car lasts longer, and if it's not broken, it's easier to fix. Hey, But if you go and
buy breaks from apparently Dura last they got lifetime warranties on them, you know people they have lifetime warranting. I'm most actually use that though lifetime warrant.
Yeah, do people actually like take their parts after knowing they've been using it doesn't cover you off wear and tear though. It's not aware and it's like
it's not where it's if it fails. It's not like I use these and
yeah, but that's normal where camera but it's lifetime, that's camera going.
I just used my new ones. You thought that Nathaniel was a miser with
money, Camera's the reverse. He's the miser of Well, how does this
apply? And how can I make the rule apply to me? Kind of
thing? The little man, I'm normal wear and tear doesn't count. That's
like saying, you know, my tires have got a lifetime warranty, and as soon as I get to the point where they're down low, I just bring them back to you. Y'all give me a new set of tires.
Well, no, it wasn't the normal wear and tear. You know,
normal wear and tear would have gave me at least six more months out of Oh come on, now, you know this product was I that I happened?
Y'all? Remember I told you guys the story. I had the tires
on the truck, right and I got twenty two thousand miles out of a fifty thousand mile tire, and I mean and they got I had proof that they had been rotated regularly, and I did at every service that needs to be rotated, and they just wore out quick, so that I called the tire manufacturer. I won't say which one was, and I said, look,
I said, I don't think I got my value out of this.
I was like, y'all need to do something. And they called me back
within a day and they were like, all right, we're gonna send you some new tires. And they did this, some of your tires, because
I mean twenty miles on fifty thousand miles high and they wore evenly. There
wasn't no in and I don't try this and say, oh, well, you know I didn't do my alignment, and now I want tires. They
were perfectly worn all the way across, so they weren't too the tire.
They sent me out new tires and then they send them to one of their participating auto garages. And I went there and they put them on it and
cost me a dime and I want to walk on my way nice. They
made you already joining into the live. Remember, if you are listening,

radio stations as well. Yeah uh but yeah no, it's it's just one
of those things of you know, at what point do you feel like you get the value for what you're paying for when it comes to autoparts, because well, all right, I got a good one for you. I got
I got two good ones for you. We'll get into them. So was
that an auto garage and the customer brought in the vehicle was complained about a misfire, and he just put plugs in the vehicle. He's like, I
know, it's not the plugs. I just put plugs, brand new plugs
in the vehicle. Well, okay, Fords only like certain plugs. Sometimes
they'll run. Okay, I know people say I put them. I never
had a problem. I believe you you never had a problem. But there's
a lot of Fords that only like certain plugs in them. Okay. So,
and you guys know, if you're a technician, you know certain Fords.
It's a motocraft. They only want to motocraft plug in it. So
I told myself, look said, very well, could be the plug.
I know you put brand new and he put a Ridian plugs in. I'm
like, I know you put brand new a ritti and plugs in and stuff like that. I was like, but and I was just stand there listening
to the conversation and just kind of butted in as he was talking. I
said, but I have seen in the past before I retired many cars where they put a plug in the car doesn't like that plug. I was like,
if it was me, I'd pull those plugs out and I put you know, a motocraft plug in it and probably will solve the problem. That
guy did not believe that was possible, so the auto garage actually got him finally to agree to do it. They did it, and sure enough,
misfire went away. It was just the plug. But he was you know,
you gotta understand his country's like, I just put new ones in it.
I just say three dollars new parts. They said that the would work,
and he's irritated, with good reason to be irritated. But you know,
when you get to somebody that has a little bit different opinion, like I would never put that plug in this is what I would have put in, and that's where they that's where they got to. And then you know,
he was like, I cannot believe that worked. And it did.
So that's story number one. I got another story for it, all right.
This one takes a little bit longer to explain. So car comes into
a repair shop, right, and it doesn't start as a as a no start issue, and they just you know, wanted to get it fixed and get it to start right. So after many hours looking at everything, the
garage took a look at it and they couldn't figure out. You know,
they were looking there, like, everything looks right, except for the fact that the starter that was in there didn't really mount flush right. It kind
of it mounted it. It looked like it was kind of at an angle
a little bit, but it looked you know, but it was in there.
It's bolted right. They're like, well, I think it's the wrong
starter. So do a little research and go through and come to find out
there's there's two different starters could be used. So they go ahead and it
looks like the same starters in there, but they're like, oh, let's just start our models. Maybe they're like, let's start fresh. They put
the starter in there. Starter now bolts in their flush, but it still
isn't working. So you know, it's uh, every you know, it's
one of those things when you get those problems. Everybody kind of talks.
You're trying to talk it out. You're trying to figure it out. You
do and everything you can and stuff. And of course with me, like
I like to go and hang out auto garages and stuff like that. I
get to watch how this all goes down and be part of it and give my suggestions, which is good. And I was like, what's the chances
that it isn't the right motor, isn't the right transmission. So we take
a look. Transmissions a junk yard transmission engines of junk yard, right,
So it's got two different parts that didn't even come with the car at some point in time. This car has had an interesting life and it's had some
parts swapped in it. And as you guys are like, well, how
do you know it's junk yard unless your technicians know of He's We're not a technician. You listen to show and stuff, they'll mark on them with you
know, little grease pins and stuff like that. So you know, you
know, they came from the junk yard, so both are junkyard. Now
this is where it gets tricky. Okay, so you have you know,
they bolt together and everything like that and everything worse. We went through every
single different scenario and then I was like, hey, what's the chances that one of those aren't the right year? They bolt together? But what's the
chances they're not the right year? So we tried to do track down the
year and everything on them, and there was really no help. Like we
I gave the information. I called a buddy of mine over at Dodge and
I gave the information on the motor and he's like, well, that motor fits that car. I'm like, I understand, it fits the car.
I was like, I know, it's a three six and I was like, it fits the car. I was like, but what's the chances that
it came out of something other than it's in, you know, because you can use a three six motor out of anything. So Dodge uses the three
six? What in the Challenger, the PACIFICA the Journey. I think they
use it in a pickup truck too, So there's a they use it and that. So it's just a three six multiple use multiple right, So here's
they're supposed to just slide in. Well, it was in place. It
was in there and bolted up and just didn't right. So you could get
the starter to age, but nothing would happen. Like you hear the starter
kind of go, nothing would nothing would ever happen. So we started looking.
I was like, okay, let's try this. So I say,
maybe it's the flywheel, you know what I mean. Maybe it's you know,
not touching the flywheel, right, So we look at it. It's
not, but it's not season up either, right, you're not here se not. But it's hitting the back of this of the flywheel. So we
take we took transmission out. Okay, so there's some and we see that
the bendex is coming out and smacking the back of the flywheel plate right.
So you know, they're like, okay, something's not right the flywheel.
So take the flywheel out. There's a number on it. Call call over
to Dodge and like, hey, run this number for me and tell me.
They're like, that's the right flywheel, Like the number is on it, That's that's right, that's the flywheel for that car. I understand.
We're looking for this car. But here's the thing. Here's the thing.
You don't even know at that point, right, You're like, okay, so that's the this is the flywheel for it. It's a bad flywheel,
or like maybe you know, maybe it's a bad, bad flywheel. So
get another flywheel in. It's the same looks the same, same flywheel,
and like, okay, so nothing's changed. So we all got to talk
and got to think that. I went, what's the chances that this not
only does this motor out of something else, but maybe it's a different year and there's just little variation differences between years, I said. So I called
back to Dodge and I said, do me a favor. Go up some
years and down some years and tell me if the flywheel ever changes. And
they're like, well, if you go up two years, there's a different flywheel shown, but I'm not really sure. And there's one there's one for
a manual. I'm like, well, it's not a manual. I'm like,
so we know that's not going to be right. So we're trying to
put all the pieces together and try to figure it all out, and it's like, okay, so what is the problem. Is it? The transmission
because it's a junk yard transmission of the engine. What you know, where's
the correlation of what's not matching up? So on a whim we went.
I was like, look, I was like, I have a feeling that this is going to be a different it's it is a three to six, but it's going to be a different six variation. So by playing around the
variations in different years, we find that they made a one year flywheel for this for the vehicle that was sitting in front of us, but in a different year. Okay, so a different model year. I was like,
just some of that flywheel. I was like, some of that flywell,
let's see. Sure enough, it comes in two days later and they go
ahead and bolted in bolts right up, hit the starter with the transmission out to make sure it engages. It engages, and there was two and so
I've heard just a little bit of this story. That's why I've stayed out
of it. But there was two different variations of the flywheel, which one
was for a auto start at a stop light, stop and start stopping, stop auto stop and start you're sitting at a stop light, or one was one engine that didn't have that feature his engine that he has in his car, which is, by the way, the wrong engine for the car, wrong year, is also an auto stops. Yeah, that's what the problem
was. So not only did the engine we firly figured it out, and
not only did the engine come out of twenty nineteen and this was a twenty seventeen, but the flywheel the engine that was put in was a was a auto start stop motor. But they weren't using that feature in this particular vehicle,
which is what made the flywheel be a different flywheel. I don't think
anybody would ever figure that out. I mean, like I started talking about
it, like if they ever wanted this feature, they'd have to change out gauge colossum. They didn't want it. They like, why obviously No,
They obviously had a motor failure at some point in time, and a transmission failure too, and they end up getting a twenty nineteen motor, which is a three six. I mean it's it's a three six, and they put
it down there and obviously bolts in and it goes together, but it's not.
It doesn't courtless. So I think what happened is either the transmission went
in first, as a junk yard transmission and that worked, and then the motor went bad or the other way. And when they went to put two
together, nothing would match. It bolts together, and they're like, man,
what do we do wrong here? We can't figure it out? Like
it both it ran when we you know, when we before we took it apart. Now we got all this stuff and it doesn't know they're looking at
wiring, all kinds of stuff. It's not the case. And it was
it wasn't the shop. It wasn't. It wasn't. It wasn't the shop
that had the vehicle with somebody else who did all this work, and then the vehicle was dropped in this shop's lap. But by saying they're trying to
for it out, we figured it out. And it's crazy enough. And
I know, guys, I got to take quick commercial break. Whatever you
do, don't interchange parts if you can't keep up with what they are.

guys, welcome back. So here's one for you. So let we go
back a little bit. Y'all know we talked what a couple of shows ago
about like things to add to cars, if you could add something to a car, or you know, if you if you could create one feature that doesn't exist yet, and all that kind of stuff, right, right, Do you ever think we get to the point where, like it's we probably should have never asked that question, not us, but just in general, because people come up with really dumb ideas for cars, like the dip tray for sauce, right right, right, So I mean yes and no, right, because like you know, some inventions lead to other inventions, so maybe you need that to get to, you know, something better. I'm
gonna go with NOE this all right, So you know, you guys know you know electric cars obviously, you know we've talked about you know, they're trying to take over the world. It's not going as quick as they thought
it was going to. In fact, I just saw something about Biden possibly
rolling back to project it. You know, date Matt, what was it
like twenty thirty for all the cars to be out of there's twenty thirty.
I don't now. I think they're rolling back because people, like I said,
we said a thousand times, people who haven't pretty much won them, right, But now they're like going into these cars and trying to find like ways to make them more like a gasoline car, so you'd want one.
Isn't that kind of like defeating the purpose of if you do that. The
whole point was to be electric vehicle stealth, so right, you're right, So if you're going like backwards and trying to make it more like a V eight car or just a combustion engine car, then I don't get, Like, Okay, so Dodge Dodge has they want to you know, I saw the patent thing they want to put like vibrators in cars, and so it feels like it's rumbling like a V eight even though it's electric vehicle. I
don't. I don't get that. The whole point was for you to go
electric, so why are you trying to not still make it feel like you frate somebody won't buy it because it's too electric, it's not electrifying enough.
And I don't know, I'm just saying it like it's goes oh bad joke.
I'm just like no, I'm just saying like it's it's It makes no sense to me that we keep on trying to go backwards. Like you know,
then I was like, Okay, well maybe we'll do EV and hydrogen maybe together and stuff like that, and it's like, okay, we still got to go fill something up, right, you know what I mean?
So, like, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose too? I mean,
what's better than gas? I think that's kind of the purpose. What
you think? Yeah, but was it the ideal that you could just pull
into your your parking spot at home and plug in your car instead of going to the gas station? Was the best design I saw was where you pull
into the garage and it's a mat, and it's a mat just like you put your phone on it charges. I don't have to worry about always charging.
I like that idea more than I liked anything else. But I don't
know, there's there's a lot of stuff that has come out. I think
it's just I'm like, either you're gonna go ev or you're not. You
can't really have it both ways. Like you can't keep on saying we're pushing
towards electric vehicles, which you guys know, I tell you all the time, electric vehicle, you know, wraps up into self driving vehicle because pretty much all those electric vehicles start to have all those features anyway, right, right, So if you're trying to push towards that, or could you separate the two? Could you do self driving separate from electric vehicles? And would
that be a better sale? It's kind of the same thing, right,
It's not because you're one's electric and one would be you know, combustion motors, but it has self driving features. Just like we told you there's a
company out there that was doing the retro fit for old cars, there would be a plan doing that driving put it, you know, robust engines with AI won't be the purpose of doing that, said, just doing electric in it because people aren't interested in electric vehicles like they think that they are.
Nobody wants to be tethered, you know what I mean. So you've got
to go out of your way to go charge and stuff. You just can't.
You're not free to roam to wherever there's a gas station, you know what I mean. There's not enough charging stations to be a room. Which
we've already proven that, right. I mean, I feel like it just
really hasn't taken off, right because people already know what fire five years, three years and stuff. What they have now is probably gonna be obstillate,
there's gonna be something way better out So it kind of you know, defeats the purpose of going out right now. And you know, spending so much
on something that isn't really to its full development. Okay, Well, you
see that a lot of electric cars right are reducing prices and you know they're predicting bad sales for the year and all that kind of stuff. But they're
ugly. Well it's not so much. Not everyone's not everyone's ugly. Not
everything's a lot pretty cool looking cars. Yeah, but I mean, yeah,
the price range is not ye, it's not the normal range for you know, every day guy, but they're still cool looking cars. I just
think that I like I called this free years. We've been talking about this
for years. I think the big peuch, push right that they tried to
push for just put I feel let me say take it back, push they shove it down your throat. Uh. Into electric vehicles is like a huge
backbar because you can't make somebody buy something that they don't want. And if
the mass majority of people still want to combustion your motor and they don't want electric vehicle, well then you just and you keep making them like what are you gonna do? I mean, I see where you're coming from, though,
because if they came out with a combustion and I haven't looked at the newer self driving car, you know, but yeah, they came out with a self driving car that was still gas, you know, was still that regular injure, wasn't electric, I'd probably be more willing to go buy that car. Because right now it seems like to be able to get a self
driving vehicle, you have to go put yourself in an electric vehicle, and some people don't want both. Well, here's people don't want an electric vehicle
and self driving some people just want that self You go that statistic, right, So it was it like over forty percent of Americans are still scared of a self driving car Yet if you go to certain cities and they're using robo taxis and stuff like that, people are more adapt to seeing them around all the time. You know, the more right, the more you see it,
the more you have to interact with it, the more you become accepted of it. That's like anything doesn't matter what it is. Any technology we've
had. I remember people saying, well, this goes back, and I'll
date myself. They weren't using microwaves. People are like, I'm not using
microwaves. I'll fry your brain. And people wouldn't put them in their house.
Now, look they're everywhere, you know what I mean. So I'm
just, yeah, I know, I absolutely date myself that one. But
I remember, though, you know, when we had buggies and cars on the same road. They still do. I'm still ugad okay, but I'm
talking about like when it was like you had more buggies on the on the road than cars. Now it's just it's the same basically. Now you have
more gas cars and electric and now they're trying to push that electric vehicle because they think it's it's better. I don't think it's gonna work like the buggy
and gas situation. You now go back to buggies? Can we go back
to buggies? I remember the day We're just I've seen some of the bug
like some they're the little videos where people have they you know, they almost have the buggies, but they're they're tricked out. No, no where they're
tricked out, like they have like Neon lights underneath them and stereo. There
are buggies. I'm like, Spinner's like what. First of all, I
didn't think like they're allowed to have like you know, current technology like that.
But so maybe it's not. Maybe it's maybe they're not homist. Maybe
they're like, you know, is it Mennon night men they do buggies too?
Maybe not? Somebody let me know. But like I said, maybe
that's what I just thought was really crazy. I've seen them somebody something videos
people like check this out and I see it and it's like all tricked out.
I've seen a video where they were where an officer pulled one was trying to pull one pull over. Yeah is that when he was passed out?
Yeah, he's passed out. The horse knows to go home exactly because the
Norse, the horse knows how to get him home. Yeah, fine,
and they just leave. That's a funny one though, I mean they're cool
people. Yeah. Yeah, Well it's just like I said, it's just
interesting how you know all that? And it is. If you go back
and look some of the old pictures, you'll see like cars and horse and buggies sharing the same in the cities like big See, like in downtown Chicago you'll see it and stuff like that. So maybe it is that way.
Maybe it is the you know, the electric car versus a combustion motor, and we're starting to have that transfer over. But I still believe that people
just are not in a big The more they wish it though, and they're like the more they're like, you're gonna have to do this, by twenty thirty, it's now like, well, yeah, it's not to do something.
You know, they're just gonna want it more. So I feel like
we just wanted more ask cars. Now that they keep trying to push all
of these electric vehicles. Well, you know, here's the thing. If
the price is still stay up really really high on cars and stuff to be probably less car says you wanted to worry about it. Everybody says, oh
price is high. Are gonna make car sales go down. They're not.
It's no different. Look at that. Look at the always. I know
you guys hate it. I always use the comparison, but look at the
cell phones. Cell phones are like outrageally expensive and people always go to the
next new thing. Yeah, the market always reflects itself. It does,
You're right, I mean, it really absolutely does. So it's just one
of those things of I don't know. It's funny how you can like throw
a pebble two inches in front of you and you can hit a n ev story that's either a good story or a bad story or whatever. I mean,
it's everywhere that's in the news. We get it shoved down our throat
because they're constantly sending us, you know, articles and news reports on electric vehicles. Coach, of course they wants to talk about them, but I
still stick with the whole original idea that I think electric vehicles are. I'm
not gonna say they're played out. I'm gonna say that good majority of people
have them if they want them, and that's the reason why the sales is stalled, and that's the reason why I think they keep on trying to come up with these gimmicky ideas of things to do to these cars, you know, Like I mean, we had ever thought we're putting vibrators in cars.
And I don't mean like that. I'm just saying, well, they've been
talking about that for years about you know, kind of making like the sensation of the car feel right. But I just kind of feel like, you
know, the purpose of going to electric is the stealth reason, you know, all the stuff that you can't get with the gasoline. When do we
make the car? And I don't know how to word it, but two
fake you know, like the feelings that you would normally feel in a gas car, do you know, like the engine rumbling, the bumps and the thing. When is it where we're making those feelings that you're not going to
really notice a problem? You understand what I mean by that. That's my
worry. And with us adding so many like fake elements to electric car to
make it feel like you're driving something different. You know, I thought the
whole point of electric cars so they were whisper quiet and all kinds of stuff, And now we're going backwards to trying to make them like we have to make them so they make enough noise so people walking around and realize they're movie and all that kind of stuff. Like are we just kind of like I
said, that's we're going back. I mean, well, you know they
did a study where like, you know, you sit in like a dark room and you'll go insane because just you know, you're because you're not supposed toyeah, you're supposed to be like that type of silence. You know.
Maybe it's like kind of like that, you know, they maybe they got to like, you know, it's too quiet. Oh, that actually gives
me like the think about that'd be stuck in a dark room forever because you're driving like eighty you might not like you need nothing, you don't hear anything.
You're like, this is a little too quiet. Yeah, But then
again, when is adding the fake noises going to do the same thing as if it was quiet, you know, because if you're producing the same fake noise, that's never changing. You know, when we get in our card
and there's a bump, it's not the same, or when we are there's a different engine sound. If they keep trying to do the fake sounds,
when is our body going to get too used to this? You're gonna have
one hundred it's just working around. Yeah, you know, you're just changing
a different you know, to a different tone sounds. Yeah, you get
a different background. What do you want to Yeah, that's he knows what
I'm talking talking about. Storms. It's called pink noisy and white noise.
You might get me on board to buy one when they finally decide to make the car have the look Garacha horn. Maybe I'll buy one. I don't

Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio. You're automotive specialist. Now back to
your host Dave Polach. Hey, guys, welcome back. So here's something
I want to kind of jump into right. There's a lot of conversation.
It's kind of funny because it comes up this week and Cameron being the star once again. Camera's always our star. You know, I don't like being
the star of this cover. I think you do, though. It always
brings amazing stories. It's the most amazing stories, so you Ever, there's
been a lot of controversy and conversations and stuff over the years about who has the right away in parking lots, right, so it's part in general.
Yeah, well no, let's just let's keep it easy parking lots. Right.
So in a parking lot you have, you know, little arrows painted out for you telling you what to go and stuff like that, and it's private property. So when people are moving around and they're not doing as everything's
marked out, and then an accident happens, you know who's that fault, right, right? Everybody's created to point a finger, so not I Yeah,
I'm I'm not. So what happened basically is I went to go try
to park my car and I went to go try to pull into a parking spot. And I went like this to try to go and back into the
parking spot. But as I went to go back into a parking spot,
somebody tried to go right behind me but didn't have enough room to go behind me. So as I made my churn, she was in my crossing and
my door hit her bumper, and it was kind of a well, who's that fault because she kind of went in my crossing. I see you,
she said, she saw me, but she didn't know that I was going to be backing. She thought you were actually leaving. Yeah, and like
that one knows she were actually like backing up in China Park. She thought
I was going to pull forward into the parking spot. But as I was
trying to tell her, even if I was going to be pulling forward into the parking spot, I would have still had to back up to be able to realign myself to be able to get my car in, you know, And like I was trying to as I was telling Pops, I was like, there was no room for her to go past me except trying to go around me, because my car is technically taking up the whole pathway now and right, you're basically blocking traffic. Yeah, I'm blocking traffic. So the
only way to go around me, or to get to the next side of me wait is to wait or try to go behind me. And so thank
god there was video, and the video shows that she cuts from the building, from her from from the building, from the building themselves. They gave
us the video thankfully. You know. I guess my thing was, she
didn't want to send me the video, so now I have to send it.
I have to wait for my insurance company to try to get the party that hit me. She didn't want to send me the visit. Well,
yeah, the company sent her the video to her text messages. Oh yeah,
so she actually had the video on. So did both of y'all see
the video. I only saw the video after I called the police out there,
which is funny because after I called the police and we waited three hours for the police, about an hour and a half in, she goes, can we do this without the insurance company? What did you say? No,
I didn't hit you. Why why would you want to do this without
the insurance company, you know, kind of making it like she's alreadys saying that it's my fault. Want She also asked to do it without the police.
No, I'm having an all us to respond here, because now we have two different conflicting stories, and I want somebody that is one trained to figure out what that's not biased, yes, and somebody that's not biased and is just there to figure out what happened and protect and serve. You know,
it took a little bit for them to come, but when the officer came out, she immediately was able to see and go, oh, yeah, that's that's what happened. So how about was the accident little bit of
a like a paint scratch on her bumper. My car had the most damage.
I think they said that it was one hundred dollars worth of damage to her car, but it's probably about a thousand dollars worth of damage to my car. Yes, it's not like you really, you know, puncture the
door. It's just more pain and you know, body scratches, anything else
a good buff and you know, maybe a good spray coat and one little pinch, you know, pull be all right? What just bothers me?
And like everybody's like, oh, well, it might just come off.
You're right, it might come off. But now there's a dit in my
drivering door. It's not that bad. It might not be bad, but
at the same time, and you know, so I'm gonna have to see that every single time that I go to try to drive my car. It's
not going to click in my head of that and all I kept saying throughout the whole night, I just wanted to Burger. I literally just went there
for a burger. I just wanted to I kept so when the when the
girl kept saying something, She's like, oh, I keep losing my tips, and I'm like, I just I just wanted to Burger. I'm sorry,
but I just wanted to Burger. Well, last he did the right
thing, and you got the police out, and you guys all had you know, a statement written up, and I felt like I went to the assurance. I felt like the adult. But here's the thing, so I
have had the I back. I have to back in. You guys know,
I have the truck. So the one who I can really get into
a parking spot a lot of time is to back in, right, So I'll go to go back in. As soon as I'm trying to back in,
someone tries to slide around the back of me, and I'm like, I'm trying to back into the spot, and I'm like, I thank goodness I have the big train horns and I can really get their attention. But
I can't count like I'll pull up at an obviously I'm pulling up at an angle. I'm not lining up to any parking spot. There's no parking spot
across. I'm not lying to it. I'm getting ready to back in,
and they're trying to glide behind me as I'm trying to back in. So
at that point, who's liable? I believe they are because you had to
go kind of into my parking spot to try to you know that I was trying to back into to get around me, So you had to you know, anger yourself into that spot to swing around as I'm trying to back up.
So if I hit you, you should be at fault. But an
you know it's a blind spot, it is you kind of like, you know, neglecting to you know, the officer said. You know, the
officer was like. The officer first said, yeah, it's her fault,
but then after she saw the video, she said, this is going to be a hard one. Your inturn is going to have to fight it because
she stopped, and she stopped in your parking spot. And that's what the
officer said. The officer was like, technically she did stop, but however,
she put herself in an endangerment because she shopped into the parking spot.
You're back into around you, which is like, and where her bumper stopped at was right in where I was trying to What did you want me to do? Did you want me to stop my vehicle continue to pull forward to
go around the whole parking lot again like you were in the wrong, except that you were in the wrong and just trying to be little me while I'm there because I'm a teenager. I well, you're not a teenager, but
I'm like, what are you talking about? Myself? A teenager? Teenager
and years he's like younger, Like my man still thinks he's eighteen. The
age conversation, you know, when you're sitting in a in a room with people where you're sitting in a parking lot and you're trying to talk like an adult and they keep yeah, they view you differently because they see that you're younger, you're dressed everything else like that. I told you guys, So
I had an accident, uh many many moons ago. So I was,
well, I was younger than you, and then you, so what was I? I was seventeen. And during having the accident and the process of
talking with the police officer, he kind of like he didn't really give me the respect because of my age. Does that make sense? Right? So
just not really believe in which like, look, I know I was in the right. I was dead standing still. But I think I told you
guys, and I'll take responsibility because you know you should as you as you get older. I had blown by him like five minutes prior to this,
at an ealacious speed, and he elected not to come after me because I was I was long gone, like and I don't I'm not promote speed or anything like that, but I you know, I was young and dumb and doing stupid stuff. But I was like, you know, one hundred and
twenty five miles an, how I think when I blew by him or something, you know what I mean. So and he and we made eye contact,
but it was very quick eye contact. I was like, oh,
you got me. He figured he's I was on old I wasn't anywhere,
So just so y'all know, I was on a backcountry road. It's not
like I was you know, there was no traffic around. I want to
say it was like six thirty in the morning. There wasn't supposed to be.
Maybe that's what I should say. That was definitely not supposed to be
an officer there, and but he was, and and he got me, you know what I mean, like, what are you gonna do? He
you know, he got me good, but he didn't come after me.
And then down the road, I passed a friend going the opposite way.
So I pulled into a side street, spun around, and there was a car coming. So I was waiting for that car to pass me so I
could pull out. Imagine me being on the right hand side with my nose
sticking out, waiting, you know, for the car to go. And
I say his nose sticking out because I was. But I was sticking out
into the white you know how they have the white painted line. I was
behind the white painted line if you from the road that matches up to that side street. He was. That guy was asleep, I'm gonna tell you
half asleep, asleep whatever, because I'm watching him come. And I literally
had rabbed to try to go and reverse because I saw him coming. I
couldn't get backed up quick enough and he hit the front end of my car at fool foot. Never hit this brakes or nothing, just smack right in
the front of my car. And when we made eye contact, his eyes
were closed. I mean like he was just like it looked like he was
kind of slumped over, kind of sleeping a little bit. And that's why
he hit me, because he was over the white line, riding in the emergency lane, you know what I mean. Had he been on the road,
not the mergency lane, because when I pulled out that side street, my bumper in front ends lined up with where the emergency lane is, you know, from the street coming the other opposite direction, And sure enough, the officer just kept on like talking down to me like he was, you know, and I think it's because I was young. I was like,
look, I was like, I don't understand. I wasn't moving. I
was dead stop, waiting to make a left hand turn with my blinker on by the way. I was like, and he was all the way over
riding in the white lane. Had he been on the road, he would
have never hit me. And he still just wouldn't listen to me inside of
me, and I was so mad. I remember, he's so angry because
I was just like, you better than I am. Well, you're well
you no, wait, here's the thing. You know, you're young,
and you know you're getting screwed, like you know, it like there's you know, it's happening to you, like you know that you're getting ready to get bent over the barrel and there's nothing you can do about it. It's
so aggravating. So and that's what was going on for me. That's unfortunate.
Yeah, yeah, definitely. It's just just one of those things where
I was an officer that was on my side from from the get go.
You know, she she was like, hey, she should have waited, and then my insurance was like, she should have waited. What probably made
me chuckle the most was when the girl said, your insurance will have to get it from my insurance. And then they hand me the insurance and I
go, we have the same insurance. At realize, like two cars to
each other and they have the same insurance, and I'm like, this is gonna be this is gonna be easy. So I told my insurance that and
they're like, oh really that's what she said. Well, let's go put
that on her record. But you also the one where they she like wanted
to settle it separately, too separately. Yeah, so hey, guys,
let me go ahead do this. I gotta take quick martial break when you

Hey, guys, welcome back. So you know, there's a lot
of different things that get sent to me in emails and messages and texts stuff.
And you know, one of the weirdest conversations always end up in as far as paint color of cars and all that kind of stuff is paint a rap, right, Like, which one to do? Yeah? Which one
to do? Now? I know, here's the thing. So it depends
it. It really does depends on what you're trying to accomplish, right.
I think some wraps look great on cars. Are you trying to do a
temporary look? I've seen wraps that look horrible on cars. I'm just like,
ah, And then they tell me, oh, yeah, I pay like twenty five hundred dollars to have the wrap done, and I'm like, it's twenty five hundred dollars. Look like crap, you know what I mean.
So the question that we were talking about this week was what's the right amount for a wrap to make sure it's done correctly? Right, correctly?
And I'm like, I don't know, Like, good question is it?
Is it the quality of the money you spend or the skill level the person who's doing it depends on a wrap too, right? Wrap? All wraps,
you know, are a little price different wise. I like the cooler
color they are, the more expensive yeah, so I guess you got to get a base skill level price first before you do wrap skill. He's like,
so this guy's basic. Well this guy, I say, because like,
well, you know, I mean like a lot of IDs, like you know, you're running the problems where you know with the wraps and stuff where you know they just missed the small corner or you know you're missing that little just you know that gap where you know it's just not perfect and you're kind of like I saw one that the guy was talking with the Meta Car Show and I liked his rep, but it was like I want to say it was a good ten foot rap because once I got like really close to it, I can see where like I don't think they could make the corners right. They didn't have the skill level to make him right right, so
they like cut it and you can see where they at it and like man like like to go into it puzzle like kind of like in some of the spots, you don't notice it unless you're like really walking around the car judging a car like we were, you know, I mean I was started judging the car and I was like, oh, someone had a really bad skill up. We're because you should be able to make that corner without having to
cut it and put a scrap piece of You guys are talking about this though, because I've been watching a new YouTuber and TikToker. You're telling the guy
that goes around and he goes around nick picks your rap. He's called yan
Nizzmy. It's like Ian but with a y in the beginning. And he
goes around and like well deep, like go around your wrap and go this is what you messed up. And he'll tape it and stuff and he does
not hold back. He's like, oh, that's a little bit of yellow,
which means you stretched it too much. Okay, but here's right,
no take color. So I guess my question still is, is you know,
paint around, Like if you're going to do something like really custom on your car, I think to a certain degree, if it's something really custom, you might want to just do a rap because when you get tired of it, you can just take it off, you know what I mean.
Like, that's why I would paint the whole car all over it. But
it depends on how long you really, you know, willing to put it on, because you can't leave it on too long or ruins of paint on your knees, So you're going to take it off wrap So you can put a wrap on a car for like two or three years before you really need to take it off. I'm guessing. Yeah, anything longer, you're probably
the sun is probably going to bake it into the paint eventually. I know
there's a time when, like we're you're supposed to really kind of what I would say, what anything probably above a decent paint I mean, anything probably above three K at that paint job. No I'm saying for a wrap,
anything above three K stuff you're kind of looking out a paint jaws. No
you're not. I mean, I mean the paint job. You know,
paint chob on the transams, like fifteen thousand dollars A nice for a nice paint job, you know what I mean. So you also did what pearl
and so there's a couple of extra things you did. They do last between
three to seven years as long as it's high quality and correctly installed. But
nobody's keeping long. Usually, you know, you have environmental conditions, usage,
maintenance, or separation in the life span that all can go against.
It all has to do with the material is used obviously, but I know, I don't know, Like like I said, if it's something custom, I guess my answer for this would be for the people who sent me the thing. If something custom, like custom graphicking and stuff like that on the
car, Okay, you're talking about I want to tell you like that.
Okay, that's a little different. In paint, I'm talking like your basic
pain you know, one solid color, right color you can kind of like you know, you do per lesson or whatever and stuff. I'm thinking anything
above, you know, like like I said, you know, three thirty five hundred and stuff. At that point, you're kind of getting too that
basic level of paint job and stuff. You're not going if you're going crazy
with the rap and man, maybe you want to go crazy with the paint job and stuff. You know, it's going to cost a little more obviously.
Yeah, But like I said, what happens when you what happens when you get tired of, like if they did some special graphics or something like them, the pain. You get tired of it. Now, the only
way to get rid of it is just sad it all down. Yeah,
you just do it right. You're going to keep it for about four to
five years thinking a wrap. But if you think you're going to keep it
for more than five ten years, get a painted you might as well.
I mean, you're as much money as you're going to spend on a wrap, why not spend that. There's a little bit of a story. We
come down to Old Blue, right, So Old Blue needs paint job, needs some body work and stuff. That's our Chevy pickup truck project that we
have, and it's taking a page out right, it's gonna get a painte out. Like everybody's like, oh yeah, everybody. Everybody's like, you
just want to wrap it real quick, and I'm like no, I'm like, because I wanted to last. Yeah, I was like I really kind
of wanted to have a paint job, and I really want to do it deep, and I want to kind of put a candy in it and have it really glossy so it looks good. And it's gonna be indoor stored anyway
in a garage, so it's not like it's gonna see the outside other than being driven around. So that's the reason why it was like, I just
wrap it and be done with it. I'm like, we can do like
a low rider pain job to it. No, No, the truck.
No, the truck. No, because I wouldn't if I do that to
a different truck. If I was gonna do it wouldn't be. It wouldn't
be. You know, blue is if you guys don't know, is the
pickup truck we had that the kids grew up in, and then we reacquired it and we have it back now and I want to restore it. The
reason why I haven't started on it. Everybody's like, oh, you know,
we know you guys have it. You haven't started on what's going on
with it? Oh? Yeah, by the way, what's going on with
the bad am? We haven't heard anything from the bad An. I'm like,
oh, we did. We posted pictures and we put finally got some
of the front end hung on the band. But I saw that on your
person. I don't think we sent in probably put out there. But I
was gonna put the spindles back on it. And now that everything's nice new
and shiny and powder coated, and the spindles aren't it kind of has the door key look. So now I want new spindles, dude, and in
their special order again. So you keep on waiting for parts to show up.
I'm so tired of waiting for parts show up on this car. We're
car guys, y'all, and we still have to call other car guys to get car answers. We called Brian how many times I was put in the
front of Okay, so keep in mind, guys, I'll tell on myself.
So we had the front end of the bad am apart now for like what six seven months waiting on parts. I mean literally waiting on parts,
not our fault. Everything came in boxes, but there's no really label on
anything boxes. So I'm staring at it. I got everything laid out on
the work bench, just staring and I'm like, what does all this go back in? Like? And does what? There's just a bag of bolts
and I'm like, don't give you. I'm like, what bolts go to?
What? I mean, like, they're just bags of bolts. So
I was in there trying to figure out. We got most of figured out,
but there was a couple of things. I had to call my buddy
Brian because he has a Camaro and I know he's kind of back and forth apart many many times, and I was like, tell me x Y and Z said because it's tell me to do it one way and that's not the way I would do it. And by the way, I was right,
the instructions are wrong. The way the instructions. I know you guys are
gonna say there's instructions are there wrong, but they are picture instructions and they're showing a bolt going through something the wrong way. And I was like,
that's not how I would do that. Would never do it that way.
It seems so weird to me to do that. But I was following instructions
and then it just really got to me. As I had a good majority
of it together, I was like, I'm just gonna call my buddy Bryan.
I call him. I said, hey, man, I say,
you've done this before. I said on this particular setup too, how is
your setup? He's like, it's supposed to be this way, which was
opposite them what the instructions told us. So just so you know, instructions
aren't always right. Like they had their light right location half instructions. Yeah,
I had the right locations far were to put everything. It just had
the bolts, uh, the arrows for the bolts going through the wrong in the wrong angle. And I was like, I know that's not right.
It's gonna tear something up. So like I said, it's cars are when
you're trying to build a cart so hard, especially, like I said, everybody trying to make these decisions on paint and wrap and all that kind of stuff. It's really gonna come down to what you guys, Like I said,
you know, we got there's a if I didn't have the bad Am and I didn't have old Blose in there waiting to be built, you know, I'd be buying projects left and right because I'm addicted. The boys to
tell you, I send them picture are like look at this, you know.
But then I get guilty because I know I got two cars still to work on. Remember well I had I had a one of my dream cars
came up for sale and the price was right on it, like just was really really right. And I know the boys aren't really fans of this particular
car, but car I like it. Yeah it was, but it was
a but it was a replica. Wasn't a kid. I know, there's
there's very similar thing with the right but replicas tend to be there the right length of the right width or right everything. And the guy has it and
he's had it for a little while and if you guys, I know what it is. It was a laborghat Coontash replica that's about seventy percent put together
that he's ready to let go of. I will never buy a coon Tash
obviously a real one, and if if I had one, I wouldn't want to drive it. I want to wheel this thing. I want to play
and have fun. So I'd rather have it in a replica than have the
real thing. That's just so. A replica is what something built from the
ground up, right, right, So it's got a okay, so going on with a I mean sometimes sometimes a lot of times a kit car is they've laid the body over something pre existing, right, that's been a lot of time. A replica, it's got a tube chassis, it's been built
for it, and it's been sourced and all that kind of stuff. And
that's how this one was. This is all tube chassis and everything. And
it could be made in a cool car. Like I said, everybody's like,
why would you want that? Because I like the way a Kuontash looks.
I always have. I had one hanging out on my wall when I
was a kid. Color and stuff. It was white. I like,
and uh, and I want to punish it. I ain't gonna lie.
I'm gonna own it, right, I'm gonna I'm gonna punish it on the road. And I would never do that to the to a real one because
the value of and what they cost, and I was getting the rarity of them. So if I'm going to own one, you know, everybody's like,
oh, you know, we were talking about it a little bit in the formuly like, well what did you do? I was like, well,
it already has an LS in it. I was like, but I
think I'd want to, like maybe twin turbo it, do some crazy stuff, put just a radical exhausted because I don't want to sound like an LS so I want to be high revving. So there's some things you have to
do to it to make it that work out that way. But still I
want to be able to if I'm if I own one, I know I'm gonna go out there and punish it. Man, I'm not going to you
know, no problem whipping brodies in it and stuff like that. You wouldn't
You wouldn't really want to do that to the real countash because there's like said, they're getting to be like a little bit of unicorns out there. You
don't see them very often, so I don't know. Let me get done
with these projects and we'll figure out what comes next, and hopefully we can get all these parts here and get things together. I'm back to waiting.
I'm parts of the bad Am. Just to answer you guys question, I
ordered some stuff and I gottait for it to come in. Soon as it
comes in, we'll be back on that. I'll post some pictures of it.
You guys see what's going on. I mean, no, we gotta
go ahead and get out of here. I did make it through the show
being sick. I told you guys, it don't feel good, but we
made it through, thank goodness. So I wish me luck and trying to
