The One-Year Garage: 2026

Hello, everybody, and welcome back

to the Bring a Trailer podcast.

My name is Alex Porter, and on today's episode,

I am joined by Randy, Zach, and Beck

to do another of our popular one-year garage games.

This time about model year 2026.

So a little bit of a departure for us,

but we had a lot of fun arguing and discussing new cars

for this year and also prepping for the game.

We had a really good time.

So here we are again, doing another one-year garage.

This time, we're going to do something a little different.

We're going to do 2026, the current model year.

Are we going to set the stage and say

what the top albums, movies, and everything?

I have no idea.

What are the movies going to be out of now?

I don't even know how to use this anymore.

We are only six weeks into this year,

and we're going to talk about the model year regardless.

Am I missing something?

We're three weeks into 2026.

Oh, gosh.

Two weeks into this year.

But what I mean is we are sorry.

Is it Valentine's Day tonight?

Did I miss the memo?

Let's just launch it in three weeks.

My brain hurts so much just trying to think of 2026 cars.

You know, I was struggling with it, too, obviously.

I actually wanted to start with this was a Zach idea,

and I wanted to know what was going through your brain

when you thought about it.

I just think it's the challenge is fun.

I think it creates some discussion around what cars were actually

looking forward to and are excited about,

and then what cars were not excited about and started the new year.

Just something fun, interesting, different.

Have we done any post-2020?

We did 2012 recently.

I think that's the newest year we've done.

Yeah, that, and I was afraid to do back 1926 back, so.

Doing that back to back to this would be pretty good.

2026 and then 1926?

We can try it.

Zach was planning breeds of horses.

Yeah, totally.

We also list cars from 2026.

We've listed 19 of them, and there's

going to be more and more to come.

Zach, how do you and the curation department

think about brand new cars?

Well, good question, because that's evolved quite a bit

over the years.

And actually, it's 18 because one was a charity VIP experience.

Yes, that's right.

One is a sign, and one is lot number 2026.

Yes, that's right.

That's a Monday all in 2026.

Yes, that's right.

And there's also, for some reason,

when you type in 2026, a Dodge Ram in there,

which is interesting.

Oh, yeah.

An 06 Dodge Ram.

And mileage and mileage and all that.

But all that's to say to your question,

it's mostly the same formula of what's cool, what's desirable,

what do people want to see, what's

going to facilitate some kind of discussion around it all.

So, yeah, 0-1s, crazy.

I mean, they dropped all those stats this year,

and it pretty much blew every supercar out of the water

for a fifth of the price, right?

Yes.

And I don't know if you're up on the new 0-1X.

You've seen all those first ones.

It just dropped last night.

It did drop last night.

No, no, people are talking about that.

I was reading it.

What is that?

I mean, it runs 8.5 second quarter mile.

Yeah, no, but the 060 is like meaningless.

It's 1.3, I think.

So, 1.68.

It beats the Navarra.

I don't even know what that is.

I found this whole thing to be a very interesting exercise

because I'm not up on any of this, right?

Like, that's been the main thing for me.

Zach, you and me and Randy had kind of an abortive attempt

to do this last week.

And Randy said some very funny things about 2026 cars.

And I was like, no, there's cool stuff.

And then I've gone through this exercise.

And I'm like, wow, I don't even know if order matters.

You guys can have all the supercars.

I don't care about any of them.

It's fascinating.

I, like, they're just not interesting to me.

They're hybrid.

Can I go first with family haulers?

I've got a list of stuff.

Yeah, mine are like zero supercars.

I'm not, there's not a Valkyrie on my list

because that's Zach's daily.

That's his family hauler.

Yeah, family hauler.

That's his truck.

That's actually, yeah, family haul.

I mean, a lot of you have the stadium seating

or is that the one that does not?

It may have four afts, but it doesn't have any stavesy.

The thing that I found is the zinger.

The zinger has a, I don't know what that is.

It's like your E36 that you drove

with the third seat in the back.

Exactly, the center middle.

Except your legs are straddling the driver.

The flip side to not caring about

a lot of the exotic stuff is I found myself,

and I'm curious what it was like for you guys

getting ready for this too.

I found myself thinking in a much more practical terms

than I normally do.

Like my brain immediately went to like,

oh man, would I actually really earnestly buy this car later

this year to be a daily driver

or buy it for my wife or whatever.

It felt very much more like practical and real

than the previous years we've done.

It was also shocking to see how expensive things are

because we're so used to like depreciated stuff

for the most part.

And that's some of the joy of looking at 2012 cars, right?

Is how depreciated they are.

So that was really challenging.

Also, another one was just knowing

what the power plants are these days.

Just having no clue.

I had cars that I picked just sort of how they looked.

I thought they looked great.

And then if you were to follow up with a question of,

well, what's the engine now?

I have no idea.

It's a battery.

Do you guys still have that brain stuck in a certain year?

From my mind, when I hear 2014, I'm like, that's a new car.

Oh, 100%.

I've been at 12 years old at this point.

Totally.

So looking at the stuff from 26, my head's spinning.

Do you know what the average price of a new car is today?

Gosh, I remember when it was 30 grand

and I thought that was crazy,

but it's got to be way more than that now.

Average price of a new today is...

I'm going to guess 45 grand.

49.

I was going to say 50.

Oh, back dunked it.

Randy was going to get the point.

50 grand.

It's 50 grand.

That's the average price of a new car sold in the US.

I think that's 49 rounded out.

I win.

I think I win.

That's insane.

That's crazy.

I bought my Civic SiCoupe new in 2019.

It was $26,000.

Like, that's not a thing you can do anymore, right?

I guess some of that is inflation,

but also everyone buys electric SUVs

and they're more expensive.

Well, that and the value of used cars are going up, right?

So then the new car manufacturers can charge even more.

Okay, Alex, the cheapest new car today.

In the US.

It used to be a Mitsubishi.

That was the joke a long time ago.

It was a Mirage or something.

Wasn't that your rental car back when you...

I know what it was.

Didn't you have a real cheapo...

No, that was Howard when he went to Lebanon, Missouri.

That's right.

Am I supposed to guess what it is or what the number is?

Someone at this company has owned one for a number of years.

Oh, is it a Versa?

It is a Versa.

Versa, still cheapest car in the US.

Wow.

What's entry-level?

I don't know what a new one looks starting at 18, 330.

Wow.

18 grand.

My dad bought our Volkswagen Fox in 1991 for $7,000.

That was a new car.

I remember him being very excited.

Did not come with a radio.

Oh, shoot.

Maybe maybe a missed report.

It looks like on Nissan's website, $17,390.

Oh, some incentives.

They're putting some cash on the hood.

I think so.

Let's get out there and get one of those.

I can't tell you what a new Versa looks like, though.

Well, I don't like any of the other Nissan's.

Just kidding.

Let's look at everything else.

I think I already know the answer to this question for most of you.

I used to keep up with new cars religiously in car magazines.

And auto shows.

Totally.

And I used to go to the LA Auto Show every year.

I love to go to the auto show.

Yeah.

And now, no, I have no, I really have to go there.

I do not.

Cisco Auto Show Thanksgiving.

There's not.

Is there?

No.

Is there any?

Is there such a green?

No.

Well, there's LA Auto Show.

Oh, sure.

But not in San Francisco, though.

I don't know.

I don't know where else there is one.

LA still happens.

Detroit.

And is there a little Kobo Hall in Detroit?

Or have they rolled up to sidewalks at that place, too?

NYC is gone, right?

Yeah.

What was the last year auto show you went to?

Oh, that's a good question.

Would have been.

I went to a couple of the LA ones.

I drove to LA and went to the LA ones.

In the big glass.

I used to go to those every year.

Early 2000s.

But then the last SF auto show I went to, I don't know.

Yeah.

2008, 2009, something like that.

Yeah.

It's been a long time.

The LA Auto Show was starting to get sad in like 2005.

No, but then they injected some action into it, right?

I mean, there were more.

All the other ones closed.

So they're like, LA is going to live on.

I don't know whether it did.

But I don't know if you guys saw it also in the headlines.

CES, the computer electronic show.

A bunch of people were there and there was a ton of car stuff

because it's all so technology driven now

that they're like doing car releases there.

That's like the mobility show, the car show.

So that's pretty different.

Texas cars, cars are dead.

There's no Colin McRae, Subaru rally cars like jumping through the air.

Like I went to an auto show to go see that at the Subaru booth, right?

And now it's whatever.

How big is the screen in the dash?

I saw the Crer GT debut at LA.

Is that right?

Yeah.

So it's sort of almost like it's bifurcated away from it all just

being automotive based and one being tech based

and the other one being enthusiast based.

So if you go to Monterey, you've got those events

for people who do maybe want to see the Colin McRae Subaru happen.

That's what I want to see.

As opposed to the consumers are completely removed.

But that sucks a little bit.

I mean, that's what I mean.

Like I used to be so incentivized to read the mags and like what's the new?

Like it didn't matter if it was a Mazda, what were we talking about?

Mazda protégé 5 or like the Crer GT.

Or you'd want to see the new Golf.

That's what I mean.

But I was excited about all of it and now I have to spend forever.

I'm just even finding a place to tell me what's available in 2020.

I'm searching online and it's it's hard.

I'm looking at the media release from the SF Auto Show 2010.

Okay.

It starts with the new Wrangler.

Oh, look out.

Then goes immediately to the Hyundai Equus.

Oh, okay.

I think telling why Randy stopped going.

Yeah, probably.

And then new Camaro C60 R1.

YLR concept and the Nissan Leaf.

And then we've got like a Mini Cooper with Woody Wagon, big handling.

Yeah, there you go.

There you go.

No, it was still fun.

No, I mean, crazy stuff was going on.

Okay, my coolest SF Auto Show story is from it's got to be 84.

80.

Nineteen and a half.

Yeah, my dad used to take me all the time.

And I saw the like the first time I ever saw a Fiero.

And it was on the turntable and there was these like ladies standing around it introducing it.

And they took off all the body panels of a red 2M4, the original Fiero.

And they like pulled the front and the back and the doors and everything.

And it was this weird little like nothing chassis.

And it was turning around.

The lights were on and it was like ladies and we build excitement.

Introducing the Pontiac Fiero.

Do you still kind of want one of those?

That was freaking awesome.

I was so stoked on that.

That's like a formative moment.

That was like the biggest display at the show.

I mean, there were a bunch early 80s.

Auto Show still mattered to them a lot, you know.

But anyway, that's a zillion years ago, but it must have been 84.

I don't think it was 85.

I think that car came out in 84, didn't it?

So anyway, to see that, I totally remember Mosconi Center in the basement.

See in the Pontiac booth.

And then you watched Ferris's sister roll one around.

And then she rolled up in that.

Yeah, yeah, later after that.

So anyway, none of you guys were alive, but that was awesome.

But we're in 2026.

Why am I talking about 1984?

Well, because I asked the question about whether you care about new cars at all anymore.

And all of us are talking about nostalgic experiences and not about something exciting

that we just saw.

And that's notable.

I mean, those ZR1 numbers coming out last night, like I saw it and it was kind of a big deal.

And am I running out to buy a ZR1?

Probably not.

But when I saw it at Laguna, there was one at Laguna this year.

They had some pre-pro, whatever, ZR1X.

And they're next to the Ford GTD and stuff.

And they're like, the ZR1 is the deal.

Dude, donut media, bros.

That's the deal.

Remember the guys who interviewed you?

They were in a press.

But I was also like, OK, that's it.

I guess that's a meaningful car.

OK, other thing, this has been like the last maybe three or four years.

But I feel like we've seen more of a rise of these super limited manufacturers making

high horsepower, super sporty.

I mean, it's almost like it's not quite coach building in the modern day,

but it's all these one-off manufactured building, one singular car that doesn't have

to comply to all the same regulations.

Example.

Zinger.

Yes, you said that.

I was like, I don't know what that is.

Google it.

Look it up.

It's like a super car of some kind.

Yeah.

Another example.

I mean, the Valkyrie is kind of one, but that's made by Aston Martin.

I mean, Zinger is kind of the prototype.

They've rest him on a 911.

OK.

And what was Jensen Button's deal?

The 911 K.

No, he had the Radford coach building sort of low Aston cars.

Yeah.

OK, that's one of those.

Well, there's the Gordon Murray thing.

That's been trotted out quite a few times, right?

T-33 is.

This year, though, that's the second model, right?

T-50 is out, but T-33 is coming out.

Oh, Randy's following.

Randy's like, I got a factory tour at that place in the UK, dude.

Wait, did you really?

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

We could talk about that.

I don't think you said that.

I don't think you just told me that.

We could talk all about you.

The GMA is legit.

OK, that's the really super high-reving V10 or V12

or something like that, right?

Amazing.

You saw them putting those together?

Putting them together, yeah.

Wow.

It's like 12,000 RPM or something.

Yeah.

Some crazy number.

Cosworth engine.

They're Cosworths, of course.

So cool.

So rad.

Man, that's awesome.

We can dive into it a little bit.

So a couple of things that'll be different.

Like, typically, I use almost exclusively Bate to do research

for these two.

So that was a little different, right?

Yeah, that's out.

I could just spoil it right now.

I don't like C8s.

So that's the main thing that we've listed from 2026.

I'm not going to be picking one of those.

So have at it, y'all.

The other thing that is quite a bit different

is we have to kind of think about,

there's cars that may come out in 2026, but may not.

So such as?

Well, oh, you don't want to spill.

Yeah, I think we have to deal with them as they come up.

But there's a couple of cars.

I mean, Zach, there's a super car that I am excited about

from a big manufacturer.

And I don't know if that's going to be a 2026 or not.

But typically, for other years,

you've got to stick to the model year.

So we've had, what was Randy wanted, a prototype M1

or something?

There's been some like that.

Yeah, there was like the only edge.

Right.

So we may have to do a little more of that

than we normally do.

Like I would be comfortable.

I don't know what you guys think with like,

OK, it's likely that car will debut as a 2026 model year.

It's mostly just to talk about stuff

that we're actually excited about in 2026.

OK, all right.

Let me remind folks about the rules of the game.

And then we can dive in.

There's four of us here.

So we are going to each select a five vehicle garage.

Each one of us will select one car from five different categories.

Sports car, family hauler, truck four by four daily driver,

and a wild card.

It'd be very interesting to see what happens

with the last category there.

We're going to go round Robin style here.

We can pick the order.

Probably matters a little bit less this time, maybe not.

But we'll pick that here.

We'll end up with 20 cars selected in total.

And we will post those results in various places.

And we'd love to hear what people think

about each one of our 2026 model year garages.

Absolutely not.

I've done this too many times.

This should be interesting.

Beck, how did you feel about doing the research?

The biggest challenge was what you referenced.

You can't really use bring a trailer for this.

I was using a car and driver for a lot of it

because they already do a lot of ranking of 10 bests.

But that sort of gets limited in mostly generic offerings.

If you're trying to find something really extreme

and out there, you kind of have to break out of that shell.

Am I choosing first category?

You can start the first category, buddy.

Oh, man.

Let's go sports car.

All right.

Might as well do it.

I was trying to make a last second edit on this

because something was mentioned in the pre-show discussion,

but the GMA T33.

Have you moved to Gordon?

Oh, you're going straight in.

I love it.

V12 manual.

I got to see it at Monterey 2024.

GMA was there with a T50.

And I want to say at least one T33.

And I think also the track version of the T50

that they were trying to promo as well.

It absolutely sounds like a race car.

It's fantastic.

But it's meant to be very much a thing you can drive on the road.

It's got a nice ride height to it.

The T33 doesn't have the fan suction portion of the T50.

So that sort of uniqueness is out the door,

but maybe that's actually kind of makes it a little bit easier.

That's a good thing in my book.

I don't want a propeller on the back of my car.

What?

Is it the same chassis?

I don't know anything about this.

It's going to have to be so much alloy.

It's slightly different because they're making

a convertible version of this one or a rooftop

that's going to come off.

And so it has to be slightly different.

So I think for the most part,

I believe the interior is at two seated side by side.

It's not a two-seater driver.

Correct.

Not a single seat.

And the front is sort of an homage to the McLaren

that it sort of is coming from.

But being still a V12, still a manual,

still sort of driver-centric,

I think is pretty exciting that it's still coming.

And it sounds like he's going to try to drag out that drivetrain

in multiple models into the future, too.

No, that's a super cool car.

And yeah, not as esoteric as Senator in driving position

and all that, and also much less expensive than the T50.

What's the T50?

$3 million.

It's a million dollars less.

It's only two and a half million dollars.

It's great value.

It's quite pretty.

Let's see who loses.

It's more conventional looking than I think it looks good.

You could fly kind of under the radar for a $2.5 million car.

Did you say sports car or daily?

That was me, sports car.

I think it's great looking and very true to what I was hoping to get at

with the 2026.

If here's a car we are universally excited about.

And GMA is Gordon Murray, something.

Automotive, yeah.

Okay, gotcha.

10,500 RPM still out of a four-liter Cosworth GMA V12.

Is it the same engine as in the other one?

Correct.

Okay, gotcha.

Great pick.

Randy, you're next.

Oh man, let me make sure they're still making these.

Talk amongst yourselves.

They don't make BMW M1s anymore.

I still want and wish I've always been able to get my hands on an Alpine A110.

Oh, that's good.

That was on my list.

So that would be a great sports car.

That would be a great sports car in the US.

I wish it came here.

I'd probably have one.

I've sat in one.

I've never driven one.

They've now introduced so many different versions.

There's the R Ultima.

There is the GTS.

I just want a blue one, and I want nobody to bother me with registration.

And I just want a good drive-in.

That's all I ask for.

Just get a registered import.

Anyway, not easy to pull that off, unfortunately.

But that's a killer car, and I want one.

They're extremely good-looking.

It's Ferrari-based, is that right?

Is it built on a Ferrari or is it its own thing?

I don't think so.

I think it's its own thing.

It's the French folks doing it.

Interesting.

They flip a Clio backwards, and then it's rear-wheel drive.

Is it a V6?

I think it's a Turbo 4.

Turbo 4, dude.

My dreams are four-cylinder.

And it weighs 2,425 pounds.

Wow.

2,426.

Now, I assume, that's not an emissions issue.

That's got to be a crash testing.

It's probably a crash thing.

Honestly, I mean, there's no Alpine sold here.

There's no Renault sold here.

I mean, they have a ton of cars that they do not bring here.

I don't think they sell them in Canada.

I don't think so.

Right when they came out, went to the Alpine dealer on holiday in France

and sat in the car on the showroom floor.

I mean, I've loved it.

Loved it.

I think they're amazing.

Thought of some ways to wrangle one over there to go use it and drive it,

but never figured it out.

So always long for one of those.

Wish they had them here.

So anyway, that's my pick.

That's a great one.

It's a really good-looking car, and it's interesting looking in the way

that the original is.

It's a really good reimagining or recreation or whatever you want to call it.

It channels the spirit of the original one, I think.

GT40, ask if you will.

Oh, yes.

Very good.

Original for GT.

I mean, yeah, totally.

Although that one's even almost more of the same look.

This is like an update, but very much in the theme of the original car.

All right, Alex.

Sports car.

Zach, I hate to do it to you, but I'm going to take a GT3.

I don't think I've ever actually gotten to draft a GT3 before.

I'm going to have a plain one, though.

No RS.

Touring.

No, God, no.

No, no, no.

Touring.

Yeah.

Well, the great thing about 26 is you can add the back seats into it finally as an option.

So great.

So touring, it can be your commuter.

So which category?

Yeah.

I mean, yeah, I guess it could almost even be a daily driver.

I did drive a 992 at that Vegas Track thing, Zach,

and I think you've driven a couple of them.

I don't know if I would want a daily driver.

It's a pretty aggressive car.

I think sports car is the right place for it.

Oh, interesting.

I think it would be fine, but I have a high tolerance for that kind of stuff.

I have less of a tolerance than I used to.

But yeah, I would have to be kind of an interesting color, I think,

but love those, love a touring, love no wing.

No, RS says I'm out on RS, pretty much all Porsche RS products.

It's too much stuff on the car that we've lost the cleanliness.

Well, here's a question for the game.

Can I be in on the RS and pick a GT3 RS for my sports car?

That?

Is it different enough?

That is what I was talking about before.

I don't know.

What do you guys think?

What if I also told you I have no other sports car pick?

I don't know.

It's a PDK, right?

It's not even, it can't be a six speed.

Come on, that wing, Alex.

I mean, sure.

Why the hell not?

2026 is different than some of the other years,

but talk to me about why RS over a regular one.

Because it's the first RS product for the street that I think has just gone so wild

and above and beyond with the normal GT3 offers that it feels different enough to want one,

in my opinion, where I feel up and to this point,

it's always just slightly taken the street ability out of the car.

But now you have that insane wing that looks like it belongs in Harjuku Street.

You could do full damper configuration within the car.

You can custom tune your suspension settings and load different maps onto it.

They eliminate the front trunk, so it's no longer equally as practical.

I just think it's so over the top and you see one on the street and you're like,

what is this doing here?

When's the last time you saw it on the street?

I've seen them on the street.

Oh, I see them all the time, maybe a couple of weeks ago.

Is that right?

Yeah, driving that car around on the street is amazing, I think.

Take it through the Chevron wash and the spoiler cod on that thing and it just ripped off.

I mean, it has a DRS button.

It's just crazy.

I think that's what was in motoring coffee.

When I went to drop the green car off there,

there was a green and white GT3 RS of some kind.

I can't even tell the generations apart, but I think it was a 992.

There's only been one 992 RS so far, right?

There's just a .1.

I mean, you know it when you see it, which is another thing I love about them.

They had a Christmas tree set up on it and the wing was so big,

they had all the presents on the wing, it was one of those deals.

Then you hit the DRS button and hear all the glass shatter.

What does the DRS do in it?

Does it actually move the wing?

Yeah, the wing opens up.

There's no so needed on the street for the rich guys driving this around.

35 miles an hour.

Awesome.

Okay, great.

T3s were going to be up there.

I was actually trying to see if I could pick a GT3 for every single category.

Well, part of the reason I was asking whether we can double up on things,

Porsche has so many versions of every model.

And that's probably true of a lot of other manufacturers,

I would imagine as well, right?

Like the difference between whatever the entry level BMW X3

and the highest spec X3 is pretty different.

It's also the difference in just how they do branding,

that they call them different models,

whereas other car companies will have the same car,

just with different engine options, but they'll call it the same model.

All right, Beck, where are we going next?

Let's do family hauler.

All right.

Man, I struggled with this one,

because this is probably the one that's the most applicable.

But there's so many cars now can accommodate people.

Just as Zach mentioned, back seats in a GT3

means definitely that could be a family hauler.

But I'm going to stick with the modern version of a car I have now,

which I would love to replace one.

Here's the modern X-Terra.

Which is supposedly they're going to come back there.

They want to bring it back.

That doesn't exist in 2026.

It does not exist.

Keep hanging on for that one.

That would be great.

No, E55 AMG wagon.

Oh, nice.

As a daily driver.

That's currently sold as a 26.

They call it E55.

I'm sorry, E54.

I'm sorry.

They call it my brain.

Do they call it an E54?

They do, yes.

I've never seen that badge on any car.

AMG.

They're probably going to come out with an E63 as well.

This will be sort of like the mid-level to it.

I kind of like the mid-level.

But I've never heard of that.

A lot of goals.

Well, the 43 was back at one point,

which I think is a Twin-Turbo V6.

But then I imagine the 53s and 63s are Twin-Turbo V8s.

54.

54, sorry.

Get it right.

Sorry.

I'm sorry.

It's even wrong even more.

It's an E53.

Okay.

Is that a V6 or a V8?

I want the limited edition E54.

I'm going to keep looking for it until it shows up.

The SL73 or what was the one back in the day?

I love those two.

Unfortunately, still going to be no third row in the back.

But that's sort of the plan is once the kids can't fit in the folding third row

is modern AMG wagon to replace it.

I need color in my life.

Everything I have is gray scale.

Color on a Benz is so flash.

I don't know.

Dark blue.

They look really good in dark blue.

I just want them all to have the F1 safety card livery circa 97 to like 2010.

And they had silvers and reds.

Didn't they?

Yeah, I think so.

And light bars.

Why does that matter?

So the new GTS coming out in 2026,

similar to Zach's GT3 RS,

took some technology coming out of Formula One

that is going to be going into the GTS,

which is the twin hybrid system.

This one is going to include an electric motor

on the turbocharger,

which is something that Formula One actually gave up

for the next engine formula

because they deemed it to be too expensive

and too complicated,

and yet Porsche is putting that in a standard street car.

And it's essentially, I think it's like the way

to keep the internal combustion motor alive

and keeping it going in new cars.

And even though you can't get it in a manual

for a daily driver with four seats

and kind of the cutting edge of Porsche technology,

that's about it.

That's where it's at.

Do we know if that's going to go into other cars

or is that not clear yet?

I suspect some version of it will,

but they've not announced anything though.

The GTS is definitely the Pioneer 4.

I think there's a T-Hybrid.

I thought the new 911 Turbo uses the 3.

I don't think that's an issue with a turbocharger.

That's the issue of the split hybrid system

where there's electric motor on the front axle.

No, I want a GMC Canyon AT4X, which is their midsize truck,

and they're sort of off-road package for it.

And I think those are sick.

I saw one of those driving down the road.

I'm a huge Tacoma guy, but I actually think this is

a cooler truck than a Tacoma.

I think the modern Tacoma is sort of snooze.

If I may say that, I think that of the Forerunner as well,

which are two of my favorite name plates that I always...

I'm just like, if somebody's like, what do I buy?

I was just to just get one of those.

But I saw one of these GMCs going down the road the other day.

I do like the Ranger.

I'm a big Ford guy too, but this GMC is very cool.

And I've seen them around.

And the AT4 pack is a cool setup.

And I think, what are they saying?

These are right around 50K, right around average.

Is that the same thing as a Colorado ZR2,

which I really, really like?

That's a Chevy version.

I would actually also take one of those.

Yeah, they come with a diesel,

but you can get them with a turbo four or a gas V6, I think.

For a period, they were, but I think, I don't know.

I don't like diesels, but this thing...

I think these are cool.

They look cool and you can get deals on them,

because I don't know if they can sell them.

It's like a mid-sized truck.

That's like way bigger than a full-size truck was 15 years ago.

It's nice to see because usually GM's mid-sized truck

is kind of sad.

Often, and these are kind of sad in low spec, right?

But with the four-wheel drive and the off-road package,

they're actually pretty rad.

I don't know if they still have them,

but there was a point when Canyons and Colorado's had

a five-cylinder in them.

It was the inline six that was in trailblazers

and they cut a cylinder off, and that was the engine for those.

Is that right?

Yeah.

To frame this point, look at the new Tacoma on Steelys,

like base spec.

Actually, I don't hate that.

I actually don't hate that all of a sudden.

It just looks like any other mid-sized truck.

But more importantly, you can buy it.

It's powered by a three-cylinder Volkswagen carbon tub.

You can buy it in a box and build it yourself.

It's crazy because they expose all that rear suspension and stuff.

They're like, that's a GT3.

And they pointed at the middle part.

And they're like, that's a Hertz rental car.

Basically, all this dough on the front and rear end.

And the middle is just like a standard, whatever.

Okay, that's a bummer.

I wanted that.

But I'm going to go.

I mean, I'm picking cars that I would actually want.

I'm definitely going to lose in the public competition version

of this, but I'm going to take a car that every time I see one

I get excited about, I think they're really rad.

And that is a Lotus Amira.

I really, they're fascinating to me.

I would worry about one as a daily driver or a sports car.

But man, I think they're so exotic and pretty.

And from what I understand, they're going to be the last Lotus

that's not like a electric car or something else.

I understand they could be the last Lotus.

I think there's always been that chance.

I think that was the true with the Elite in 1957 or whatever.

I just love the way they look.

I actually like the way Avora's look a lot too,

but I think they've really improved the looks on them.

They just have so much presence.

Every time I see one, I'm like, damn, that's good looking.

I wish that's what modern Ferrari's looked like.

Clean and simple.

This is a V6 with a manual or the Turbo 4 automatic, right?

I think you can get the Turbo 4.

You're a big Harry's garage guy, Alex.

I love Harry.

And he bought one and owned it for like three weeks.

And it was a pile.

Yeah, he got rid of it super quick.

And that was almost alarming to me.

Yeah, they're just extremely good looking.

And I'm taking it as a wild card because I bet you'd have to have it in the shop a lot.

But from what I've read, they're delightful to drive.

Right, it's an NA V6.

It's kind of the formula that you and I like over and over again, right?

Normally aspirated motor, manual transmission, mid-engine.

Very pretty design.

I love them.

I got passed by one out in the middle of Texas.

So one of them was reliable enough for somebody who was willing to drive it

through a couple hundred miles of open highway.

They're way wider.

Totally.

It reminds me.

I was going to say, it reminds me of the 4C in that it's like a car that the silhouette

and shape of it punches way above its late weight.

And both those cars are so much cleaner than the super cars in terms of design language.

And that's why I love them.

Yeah, there's some honorable mentions.

Still making the Daytona SP3, which I feel like is kind of a cheater answer,

is new for 23, not 26.

Do you like that car?

I think they look pretty stellar.

That's the one with the streaks around the corner and back and all that stuff.

And I think it may be kind of an end of an era car for Ferrari.

It's no hybrid powertrain, no turbos.

It's the V12 that still dates back to the Enzo.

Just cool to see.

Is it in the lineage of the LaFerrari and stuff, or is it a lesser thing than that?

I put it in there, but Ferrari now has this weird division of their website,

where it's not under what they call super cars, which the F80,

which is kind of the new replacement for the LaFerrari is.

They have it under Icona.

Also with this, what I think is particularly sad, the Monza SP3.

That's tough.

is the 400Z, which I feel like is almost underrated.

There was so much hate on it, kind of like the new NSX when it came out.

There was so much lukewarm reaction that everyone just kind of forgot about it.

I don't think I've seen more than one or two ever.

There was some press release that Nissan put out that the 400Z had beat out the Supra in sales,

and I haven't seen any.

I see quite a few Supras.

I've seen almost none.

I think they look great.

Maybe they beat it in 2026 because there's no 2026 Supra.

Yeah, they put a manual on the Nismo Z for this year.

Oh, that's cool.

Yeah, they're trying to dig themselves out of the whatever hole they have.

I think they're good looking.

I think you can get them in the rear.

a thousand pounds heavier than the last one, which was already 5,000 pounds.

which I think is at the entry level one.

I think a couple other Renault's I could have added to other categories,

but I decided not to, so I'm good where I was.
