Welcome back to the martini works podcast and you guys want

photos and videos in this more than anything I think. Yep. Don't

worry. We saw your comments we seen the backlash we felt it and

it hurts. No, we agree with you guys completely we get it. I

think majority of us thought it's a podcast you guys are just

listening we didn't realize how intently you were watching and

that's on us honestly. Yeah, I'm gonna start wearing makeup.

You're not wearing me.

Anyways, so no, I think that's a great thing that you guys

pointed out that you'd like to see some b roll some photos and

stuff pointed over specific things when we're talking about

them. I think it makes sense. That's fair. I just give us some

grace. We're three dudes and the frickin podcast takes an over

an hour to film and there's so many cameras and then over an

hour to edit and then to go back there. It's just a lot. We're

working through it but we hear you guys and we want to keep

improving and getting better. So I think that'll come in the

future and thank you guys for your honest feedback too because

it's only gonna make us better but today I am here with oh I

didn't realize you're gonna introduce introduce me. I'm

Dustin and just and I'm Dakota and this is the Martin works

podcast. Welcome. We kicked Alex off of it again for today

because we like Dustin more. Dustin's been doing some cool

stuff and that's why we wanted to have mine and I think we want

to talk a little bit about motor sports in general. I think

going to events is super fun and everyone should do it but we

are kind of talking about shooting the shit how drifting

and then like dirt track oval racing. It's like same same but

different. It's like copy my copy my homework but but make it

your own right. Yeah. Obviously there's major differences

between these but there is also some weird similarities when

you think about it but they are very different audiences. Oh a

hundred percent a hundred percent but I think it's really

interesting like what I what prompted this is I was out of

race this weekend and I was looking at some of their

apparel and it's it's different like it's a different style of

apparel and we can chat a little bit about that but the way

that like the way that dirt track racers convey themselves in

conversation is the same as the way drifters convey them like

FD guys convey themselves and it's really interesting how how

similar they are. I would say the difference is that like in my

opinion drift guys are listening to like sad pop punk and dirt

track race guys are just listening to dad rock. That's the

only difference. I would kill to see an oval track car with

like a JDM drift livery on it. So OK so low key. I was thinking

about what I was thinking about this. How rad would it be

because dirt track cars are sick. You know they're like

tubular chassis like late models are tube chassis and stuff and

whatnot and they're they're really purpose built cars but

when you crash one of those you wad it up like if you tweak a

frame that's the end of it. It's just the cars not worthless

but dang they're worthless. Yeah. So they'll sell them for

you know two grand twenty five hundred bucks. How sick would it

be to build a drift light model because think about you could

you'd have to do some fab work right. But the chassis is a

tube chassis so you can bolt up and weld up whatever the hell

you want to and it'd be gangster. See like this big block

Chevy freaking late model out there with like a reverse chrome

liver. I just it would be goofy as hell. I'd be sick. I

think like they're like built crooked aren't they. Yes. So a

couple of things the chassis every there's nothing symmetrical

so and we're talking specifically late models if you're a

dirt guy here. Sprint cars are kind of the same thing that's

different conversation but a late model chassis is typically

built twisted a couple degrees and then the rear ends in those

cars like the reason that they they they weight transfer so

hard and you see the like body roll up is the rear end is

actually engineered to rotate. So it's engineered in the back

of the car to roll steering. Basically. Yeah. Essentially so

that's what you do. That's what drives the car on the corner

which is wild. Yeah that is not. I think that's why it's so

cool and like grown up beaver damn old beaver tucky power

com raceway and stuff. So I've always had kind of like a

slight interest in that stuff never got heavily into it but I

knew it went to school with guys that did it you know and still

race to this day. So it's always been interesting but it's cool

to see how those cars are built like the Sprint cars right

where they have the like gigantic wings but only dedicated to

turning left. Oh yeah. Well you have to man. They're they're a

tube chassis car that essentially is like the front end is

just spindles right and a tie rod for the steering which doesn't

even have like a true gearbox. It just comes up. There's like a

bar that comes up to the side to a drop box and then that goes

over to the steering linkage and that's it. Like it's super

simple but then you've got 900 HP's in front of you a drive

shaft that's literally straddle that goes right underneath in

between your legs to the rear end and that's it. I didn't

realize they made that much power. Yeah like 900 HP's 1200

pounds like weight wise. So they're they're dummy. You have

to that's why they're so loud. Yeah. How cool would it be. We

should do this as a video. Yeah. Like have a dirt driver and a

drifter swap seats. Oh yeah. It's really funny because we went

down to Riverside this last year. We brought the Sim Rig with

and you loaded up some dirt track. Oh yeah. This is a good

story. I was watching Dustin doing oh man he's ripping but

yeah the whole time you're going sideways and it looks like

you're you're you're chucking it in the corner and so like I'm

like I want to try this and so I like get in there and I like

go to throw the wheel like you do like and I just immediately

wall it like that was weird. So I like try it again. I mean I'm

like what the fuck is going on. Dustin's like why are you

counter steering. I'm like what do you mean. Why am I

counter drifting. He's like just just punch the throttle and

steer into the corner. I'm like that's that's not what I was

doing. You need to turn right to go left. And he was under

watched cars. It's wild though because you you roll those cars

out there and like and I think we're on Knoxville so like a

really big wide open half mile track where you can pretty much

stand on it the whole time but you'll come into the corner and

you just you just lift a little bit and kind of set the

steering wheel and the whole car will start to rotate because

it'll it'll weight transfer on that right rear and then from

there all you're doing is just taking that steering wheel and

just you know half turn quarter turn increments just enough to

balance that front end out. Everything else about that car

you're driving off your right foot. You're just a throttle

input is the whole amount of rotation. Is there really any

braking or is it mostly like just throttle. Yeah so especially

as you get in traffic that's where where brake really becomes

a factor because like what'll happen is if you're you're

battling with a guy and you're trying to you know find grip

and whatever else you know you'll come into a corner and

you'll stand on the brake and flick the rear end of the car

out and then plant the throttle again and so you'll kind of you

know you come in and you you rotate the nose in and then once

that weight transfers you stand on it and you kind of walk out

on that corner and you'll you'll sweep up. They call the slide

job. You'll slide up in front of him on hit the cushion and then

away you go. Damn. Yeah it's fun. It's it's why how do you think

a dirt driver would do drifting. Um you know honestly Corey

Tulaska is probably the guy to talk to because he ran a

screw and a sprinter for a while. Oh yeah. You know he did

dirt driving. Yeah. He's been racing his whole life. He's in a

well from a throttle input perspective. I think I think they

would really if for someone who's never drifted before I think

would really struggle with steering input because they're

they're going to try and get that thing to weight transfer out

and drive it off that right rear which you probably could you

put a really like a really soft spring in that right rear or or

you know loosen that coil over up a little bit so it weight

transfers back. I bet you could make it work. The right turns

would be hard though. All they do is turn left you know. So

tell us a little bit about the event you went to. Oh my god.

Dude. Dude. All right. So I just got back from an event called

Gateway Dirt Nationals. It is an indoor late model and dirt

modified events which is different. Yeah. So it's in

like a it's in a stadium right. Think of like Monster Jam. Yeah

but but dirt racing. So brain it's it's the brain child of a

guy by the name of Cody Summers who is an incredibly smart

human being and Cody decided if they can run monster trucks

indoors we can run late models indoors. So they truck in I

forget how many metric tons of dirt but it's a pile of it. I

mean they build this track every year for this event and then

when they're done they clean it up take it all back out again

because it's a lot of work. It's a football field. A fun fact

for you I found how to store turf by the way they make these

really cool little like center driven things and it's a whole

idea. Anyway store turf in a dumpster. No so so what what

they do is they bring in all this dirt and then they build it

from the floor up like three cinder blocks high in the

corners. So there's a ton of banking on it. It's a fifth

mile but the event is like I was telling you guys a little bit

earlier the event is like a modern day Coliseum like it

is no holds like wreckers or checkers get in there thrash

the hell out of this car. You're up on the wheel the whole

time. You know you're really kind of elbows up racing. That's

a big dirt thing elbows up because the spring cars when the

wheel sits down in front of you. So when you're racing really

aggressively they say your elbows are up because you're

like you're like up like this on the wheel. So really cool

stuff but it is man. The whole experience is electric in that

place. It's like imagine going to Lambo right. You guys been

Lambo. Yeah. You know how cool Lambo is when like the packers

are winning everybody's cheering and screaming and

they're all placed on earth and they're all pissed drunk and

everyone's having a good time. It's like that but with race

cars. It's so cool. Dude it is even if you're not even if

you're not a dirt racing guy just to be in that environment is

intoxicating. It's so cool. And that's that's how I was saying

is like if you haven't been to any motor sports events you

should really do it like gotten the chance to go to some

IMSA races or even going to the local track up here and

watching drifting like I don't partake in drifting. I wish I

just can't afford it. Y'all are gnarly but like going and

watching is so dang fun and it's such a good vibe and there's

so many good people. It's all like minded people there too.

So like going out to these events I really think it can open

up a new alleyway for you for like what you want to do with

your vehicles and stuff you know like it's inspiring. It gets

you hooked. How many people come to this event. 38,000 people

in the dough. It was insane dude. It's impressive. Yeah. I

just feel like anytime I've seen those events with their

track race I'm not talking down but it's typically a little

scattered. Yeah. The the crowd does sell it out or it's got to

be damn near sold out. It was it was probably 75% capacity.

They opened up the 400 level seats so there's people up in

the 400 levels and it was nuts man. It was it was absolutely

bonkers the amount of people that come in for that event. Do

you think that space is growing or do you think it's

declining? I think it's growing. I think I think the dome

specifically we call it the dome because it happens at the

dome at America Center but Gateway Dirt Nationals the

event is growing rapidly. I think that that'll be Cody will

be in a different spot by by 2027. I bet because he'll sell

that stadium out. What state was it? Missouri. Missouri. I

literally stayed. I'll show you guys a picture. I stayed from

my hotel room. I could see the arch. Oh, that's nice. Yeah.

It's actually kind of sketchy down there by the way. If you've

never been like the arch area is actually no it's a hundred

percent. Yeah. Louis ain't really that fun of a place. I

almost got to do a fight. I'll tell you guys about that. He

was fighting us. Well, he tried. He walked out in front of me

and I may have kind of just slapped the quarter panel of

his car but whatever. Anyway, different different time.

Different time. He walked in front of you. He slept his

car. No, no, no. He drove in front of me. We don't need

to go there but the event is growing like crazy I think and

that space is growing. You know, I think like the event was

70k to win on Saturday. 70 thousand bucks just to start the

main event paid $3,000 in your pocket. So, it's it's growing

and it's growing rapidly. That's really cool. You think it

will get is there local shows around here that they they're

doing races like in this area? Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

Like Plymouth. Plymouth has usually I think they're hosting

High Limit next year which is a sprint car series. World of

Outlaws is coming back again. I mean they're there that the

world of dirt racing is very much alive and well and I

think there's this weird misconception in the market

that like kind of like you said, dirt racing is like very

like not really podunk but but kind of more rural, very low

budget. Is it mostly like a Midwest thing? No, it's

everywhere. It's so interesting. Everywhere but what's

interesting is is the type of car you're into is very

different depending on where you're from. Right. Like Arizona

loves late models. They love late models. That's their jam.

Late models and street stocks. You get down South, big

street stock country. You know, Alabama and Georgia, they

love street stocks and late models. What is that? What's

street stock? Um okay. So, a late model, you know the late

model is right. We talked about that real long car. Real

fancy. The crooked one. Yeah. The big parallel gram looking

one. Yeah. Street stocks are originally started as like

like Monte Carlos that they would strip down and race. You

know, more car-esque. Sure. Sure. And then as you get up

into the the northeast kind of main Vermont, all that

stuff, those guys love big block modifies. Those are like

the door wedge shape ones. Have you never seen those? I

think I know what you're talking about. Yeah. They're

wild. They like. Jels, put a picture up so I can see. Yeah.

Jels, put it on. Oh, I get it. Um but but they love their

mods and then like the Midwest is Sprint car capital of

the world. Really? Oh, dude, we love Sprint cars here. Um

but it's crazy. Like people don't realize from where we

are right now, if you wanted to go racing or if you wanted to

go watch a race within a two hour drive, you can go Angel

Park, Big Beaver Dam, because Little Beaver Dam is closed

now, but Big Beaver Dam is still open. Uh Wilmont, 141,

Seymour, Anaggo, uh

there's like two or three. There's a seven, eight tracks

within two hours I hear. That's what I was gonna say. Like

any time. Yeah. So, when are you gonna start racing? Let me

tell you. Let me tell you a little secret. I've seen you

whipping on the sim. So, this is this is something. So, I

was trying to go diesel drag race next year really bad.

That was my jam, right? But to be honest, it is it's pretty

expensive. And any racing, I feel like it's just excellent. I

should really finish my LBZ before I buy another diesel

truck to be honest with you. So, I was like, okay, well,

we'll figure it out. So, Gravity Park, that's the other

park uh track. I forgot Gravity Park in Chilton, which is

like 40 minutes from here. Just posted the other day that

there's a growing series in in dirt racing um where they're

dropping five three LS's um into late models and you can

build one of those. The goal is to build that that car for

ten grand to go racing car chassis engine everything. Okay.

It's like, oh, holy shit. Just go get a business loan for

change. I guess we just you know, that's a little more

attainable than than the kind of dollars. So, we'll see what

what shakes out next year. I definitely got the bug after

this weekend though. I bet. Well, you've been you went to uh

Knoxville too. So, those are kind of like some back to back

heaters. I feel like that uh I'd probably get the bug due

going to stuff like that. I'm so addicted to that. Especially

especially like uh being able to like get down in there and

like really like, you know, close to it, shooting the

content and then I'll show you guys the video once we hop

off here because I know we're coming close on on the first

bit but um I'll show you a video. I was standing on the

safety barrier or like behind the safety barrier which is

just concrete blocks at at Gateway and the car is closer

than I am to that camera. Sideways in a corner at 90

miles an hour. Shake in the earth. It was crazy. You can

hear if you listen to the video closely, you can hear the

air as he goes. That's sick. It's wild. That's super dope.

Alright, 2026 is on the horizon. I can smell it. I can

taste it. I can hear it coming. What's it taste like? Um

pizza. Oh, lots of pizza. I like 26. Let's go. Let's go. So,

what I'm curious about is do you guys have plans or are you

starting to think about what 2026 looks like? I know some

of us have projects. Some of us have builds that we want to

the finishing touches on. What is your 2026 look like maybe in a

dream state and what will realistically probably happen?

Your first. Got him. Uh it'd be cool if I had a car to drive

again. That'd be that'd be fun. So, what's going on? Give give

the debrief real quick on the situation. Uh it was one of

those situations where I was feeling really, really

motivated one day. Mm hmm. I put the 240 up on like Jack

stands. Started to dive into it, ripped the fenders off, ripped

the bumpers off, ripped basically the whole body kit off.

He's just had like a bunch of new like rear control arms and

stuff to put in because I really wanted to get rid of all of

the negative camber in the rear. Um so, I bought a bunch of

like ISR control arms and shit like that and in the middle of

like putting that in like broke some bolts and shit like that

and just got busy with other shit and now it's just

collecting cobwebs and the garage is a nightmare because

we've been like doing stuff with the house so it's like all

the boxes and shit get thrown out there. It's like I need a

tool so I bring it in like there's just shit everywhere

right now and like I look at the garage and I'm just so

unmotivated to go out there and do shit with it and it's like

now it's to the point like I rip so much stuff out. It's like

well, I want to put new stuff back on like I don't want to

put the old fenders back on it. It's like I have the new

origin bumper but it's like I'd have to paint that to match it

but if I want to paint that to match I might as well just

paint the whole car but then to paint the whole car it's like

I want to do the bodywork to it but if the bodywork to it I

might want I want to make it run and it's just like a never

ending cycle of this is while you're in there while you're

yeah while you're in there syndrome. Yeah. 100% yeah.

start picking away. You just gotta start checking off what

you can and then too I get this way like with with content.

I love editing. I love making videos and stuff like that but

it's always while you're in there, right? It's like, oh, I

want to add this. Oh, I want to fucking make this. Exactly.

And I think it gets to a point and this works for for cars too

is like you have to just recognize what is realistic for

me in this time frame and what can I actually do like we all

have that dream state and I think we can get there eventually

but if you want to like get out and at least you're having

seat time and stuff and it doesn't have to sit, I think you

just gotta start marking down what can I realistically do

this month? Yeah. And just start checking her off because

yeah, I know you were you were drifting quite a bit and then

it was like a wall, you know, not not physically. Yeah,

thankfully, you know, like a mental wall of like yeah, it's

just like so much to do. Like the car was the car's decent.

There's just things that that need to be addressed with it.

Like the cooling system needs to be gone through. Like the

fans need to be rewired because at this point it's just

literally a fucking electrical like fire hazard. Like I was

literally at the track and like the the switch that because

they're just like auxiliary like electrical fans that were

wired up and it's like the switch like I went to shut it

off one time and it literally burned me the wire like so

fucking molten hot and like it burned the switch out and I

couldn't shut them off so I had to like rip the wire off the

thing to like just connect the circuit and let it burn my

finger. Jesus. I'm like, okay, well, that's that's gotta be

addressed and it's like the engine like, you know, like

leaks oil and shit like that and it's probably due for like a

refresh of some sort. You know, it's like there's a lot of

things. It's an old s chassis. Yeah. It's an old s chassis

that's had a rough fucking life. Yeah, she's she's seen some

stuff. I think for 2026 getting the 240 going. Yeah, I just

like like especially since I don't have like the rx8 anymore

and it's like I don't have anything fun to just like take

for a drive. It's like I want to be able to street the car. I

think like is I know it's like fucking caged and it's got you

know, don't it's loud and obnoxious and all this shit, but

it's like I love cars like that. I love like stupid obnoxious

cars. So it's like I want to be able to like have fun with it

without like spending $300 on a track day 100 percent. You

know, I want to want to take it to fucking lunch. Yeah, you

don't go drive downtown, go cruising like a Hoonigan. Yeah,

the lunch bring it to work. So, you know, like yeah, drive to

work's a little bit fun in the morning. It's like I yeah, I

don't even think I drove it at all this year. You did not.

It's been we get the bike to which helps. Yeah, the bike

definitely helped that that like quelled like the the need

for something. So that was a lot of fun. But yeah, it's it

does break my heart. I just walk out into the garage and it's

like it's just sitting there and it's just every, you know,

another box gets thrown on it and another like the spider

webs are crazy. I like that. That really broke my heart when

it's like spider webs attached to the ground to like the back

of the car. It's like, damn, I really have not touched this

thing. Baby steps just gotta start taking. Yeah, I know with

with winter here and you know, shit starting to calm like

winter winter. I hate it because it's fucking cold and

can't do anything, but that forces you to stay inside and do

something. And what's inside the fucking car? So fortunate

enough to have heated garage. I should probably make the most

of that situation because I've wanted that basically since

we've your whole life and moved into apartments and didn't

have that, you know, kind of stuff. It was like the goals.

I want to have a nice heated garage and it's like I have it

and not fucking utilizing it and that's stupid. What am I

doing? So yeah, this this winter the goal is get it back

together in one piece. At least fix like the wiring

situation, the cooling situation that I kind of like a

running and driving car. Maybe make some weird noises yet.

Maybe maybe it's not the greatest looking yet, but at

least I can drive with it. So 100%. Well, by you, Dustin,

what you got going on? Oh lord. Um man, there's a lot of

stuff. 26 I think as we roll into to 26, I have a mountain of

parts that need to go in the truck. I have I feel like you

have a mountain of parts already in the truck. I do. Oh no.

I have a mountain of parts on the truck. I don't I that truck

is pretty much stock engine wise. Oh is it? Trans drivetrain is

all pretty much stock. You have a couple of stuff. Oh yeah.

Yeah. I got 30 over injectors, new CP3. Let's do it rich. 64

mil turbo. What's that? Uh what's that? I don't know. It's

bigger than you know. That's true. Ooh. Wait, ready? Ready for

to be scared. Ready? Forced induction. But no, I've got

bigger turbo injectors, new fuel pump. I'm I'm at this weird

spot with you talk about while you're in there, right? Yeah.

I'm at this weird spot where I really to do that job

effectively, I'm going to take the cab off, right? It's way

easier. It's way easier because it's like it's like it's

like two harnesses, eight bolts starting to sound like a Jeep

guy. It's pretty simple. So, I'm going to take the cab up,

which is going to be awesome. Um and then. Which should be

pretty because we put new cab mounts in there. Oh yeah,

they'll come apart, which is nice. The rough part is over.

Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely perfect. So, um so we'll uh we'll do

that but what I'm struggling with is that while I'm while I'm

in there, um I really should do head studs, heads, you know,

head gaskets, right? Um that kind of that stuff. All the easy

stuff. Yeah, it's really not so bad when you take the cab out

of there. When it's already. I mean, yeah, that's fair. That's

fair. Um but and then I I have a call with a company actually

directly after this, which is why I'm a little short on time

today. Um but I'll have enough fuel and the stock bottom end

of that truck will hold to about 700. I make like 450 right

now. You got plenty of. The brands won't hold 700. So, I

need heads and a trans build and I

realistically could make like 700 HPs. So, I think that's the

direction I want to go. That would be insane. Is like a

six hundred, six fifty horsepower build. Six. Six seven.

Six seventy, you know. You're a brain right idiot.

Robert, you're pissing me off. How many miles are on your

truck currently? Two hundred and eighty five thousand. That is

so crazy and to like do all this at two hundred and eighty

five K is so like it's bending to me. Damn quarter million

miles. I think it's time to make more power. Take the cab off

and make it make seven hundred. That's sick. I it's just like

truck world's so different. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, assuming I

make like seven hundred HPs, six hundred HPs, it probably

be like six hundred HPs and like a thousand foot pounds of

torque, eleven hundred foot pounds of torque, which would be

sick. Um then we'll hood stack it, I think. Okay. Why? Um I've

always wanted to hood stack because they're fun, but my

two rules for a hood stack are you can't do it when it's the

primary tow rig because everything you have will be

covered in soot. Yep. And you can't do it if you're under

five on a horsepower or you're a poser. Fair enough. I I

think that's fair. Is there a mark for Volkswagen Jetta TDI

then you can do it every time. Is there an actual

performance benefit to hood stack? No. Not really. It's

just kind of cool. But it just sounds cool and it looks

cool. I mean yeah. Fair enough. Like got the whole Peter

built with the pipes right out the front. Like I feel like

it's kind of like escalate. It's like a big truck. You have

your exhaust right in front of you. Remember everyone back in

the day was doing like bumper exit exhausts and like their

2D clips and like guns and shit. Like it was always like you

put a bumper exit exhaust and a two steps and it was like the

loudest thing on earth. Yeah. It's it's cool though on a diesel

because like you spool it up and you got you know I would do

like a like a short little you know three four inch um that's

pretty pipe. Yeah. Four inches is huge for the record. That's

shorter than more than enough to get it done. Anyway um but

it's cool because you're in the driver's seat and you like you

go to like brake boost it and spool it up and it'll kind of

blow a little black smoke and as it cleans up you know it

spools up it'll clear up and then when you stand on it it

just spills out smoke. It's probably the inner tractor kid

in me. Yeah. It is cool. I'm just hesitant. I think your

truck looks so good. Yeah. The way it is like it's like

anytime you talk about like a significant exterior mod like

that. I'm always. I'm backing you off. Dakota's my best temp

check because the other day I was like you know I make

enough that I could probably go race that thing if I just

pulled the lift kit out of it and Dakota's like shut up.

Leave it alone. I haven't seen that. It looks it looks really

good. What you'd want out of a Durham accident. Yeah. I do

like it. So we'll get we'll get the pile of parts installed

get that cleaned up. Um I'd like to clean the frame up a

little bit because it's been a couple of years getting kind

of gross again. Um and then we'll see man. I don't know.

I've had that truck for six years now dude. Good. Yeah.

You've used it dude. I used an abuse. I found a video the

other day from the first Gatlinburg trip we took when I

took when I hauled the 430 in the RA down there on the

street tires and the stock bumper set up and I was like

it looks so good. Yeah. It's a it's a good truck. So yeah,

that's that's the attainable side of things. Dream Golden is

I don't know. I'd like to go either drag racing or dirt

late model racing or sometimes. Yeah. I just want to go

fast man. That'd be dope. That'd be awesome. Yeah. What are

you working on? I got more stuff I want to do to the

forerunner especially around Black Friday, Cyber Monday.

There's a lot of mods that I've seen that I like. Um I'd like

to swap out like it has the TRD Pro roof rack on it. I don't

like the double decker half rack. Oh yeah. I'd like to just

get a solid one across but man. I'm going to be honest. Who

we could build one. Probably because they build them out of

aluminum profiling. Same as the SimRigs. Once I saw that one

that Alex had on the on the the Hilux, I was like, I could

build this. This is that's easy. Yeah. Yeah. So, there's a a

few little subtle things overall. I kind of like where it's

at but a couple more things I want to do and then I want to

actually like get out and use it in 2026. I like I want to

take it to some trails. I'd be sick. There's some really cool

trails up in the UP area that I would absolutely love to do

and then like camp out there and I want to do more of that too

like camping. We got we did a little bit last year and it

was just horrendous like we went and it was like you guys

like the worst weather mile an hour. It was the worst weather.

Jesus. It was it was crazy. I'll never forget that. It's like

you guys are going camping. This weekend's going to be so

great and it's like I remember stepping outside on Saturday

almost getting knocked on my ass. I was like they're in a

fucking tent right now. We go to make lunch. It's like you

set the bread loaf on neighbors are eating it like it was

crazy but yeah, I want to get out and do more of that.

Additionally, have the bike. There are mods I want to do to

that as well. I would love to tune it. Yeah. Oh, I have to

actually. Yeah, I have to. I have to because I I did a full

the fucking GSX8R require to do an exhaust like it's all one

piece from like the like the actual like header I guess all

the way down and around to the cat and then the muffler it

was all one piece so there's no like slip on style exhaust. I

had to I had to do the whole exhaust Jesus which typically

requires a tune because you're changing so much. I have a

Honda CB 1000 Hornet and those initially when they came out

there in the UK and then they brought them over to the

states for whatever reason from the UK to the states they

detuned them. So even from the factory it's making less

already more used to than it should be. So I really want to

get that tune just to open up. There's so much potential just

sitting there the way it is that I'd love to people say it

really wakes up like not that necessarily wake up your

leader but yeah, no big deal. Plenty more power. I would like

to however there are some issues. I actually just got a

recall notice in the mail for it because the shifter the

linkage the bolts fall out while and then you can't shift

while you're riding. So that's an emergency recall that came

out but additionally it's not recalled yet but I'm seeing it

all across the pages as they're having major oil consumption

issues with these bikes right now which is interesting

because the engine it is the the leader bike engine on the

CB 1000RR I think it was a 2017 around that year or so and

they were known to consume I feel like any Honda consumes a

little bit of oil but it's like this time it's it's pretty

it's just drinking it. So I'm keeping an eye I think between

my last oil change and now I did see a little bit down

there. So now I'm nervous to tune it because if there's a

factory warranty or anything I can't avoid it. Yeah. I don't

want to yeah exactly. So we'll wait it out a little bit if I

get there as soon as I can I'm tuning it because I've just

heard phenomenal things. Yeah. Tune it. Dude that bike sounds

so gnarly. Oh yeah. I love the bike otherwise. Absolutely love

it. So more fun stuff with that and then I think dream is I

would love to get myself a little project cars a little

fun. I don't I don't think in 2026 it'll happen. Could I won't

say no but Harlequin. Oh dude if if a Harlequin came up and

it was the right place I would buy it cash right now. Oh yeah.

I truly would. I've always wanted one. I feel like I can make

it happen one day. So I would otherwise like a clean 20th

anniversary mark for. Oh yeah. I think you'd go back and I

would. I would. Yeah. And I honestly I'd want a Moli yellow

again without accidents. I love a Moli yellow. Otherwise jazz

blue is really cool too. I thought that's neat but I

really love a Moli yellow. There is something about the

yellow. It's in a weird truck. It's a motor sports thing.

It's a racetrack. I would love a little project car to tinker

with like I'll always have that bug in to have some. That's

good. Keeps the drive going. Yeah. 100%. Otherwise too like

with Martino works I'd love to do a little bit more motor

sports stuff. Be around. It would get you guys in some

seed time. I think every once in a while we get some events

going on whether like we're going to hang out with

Continental or we're going to road America and it's like I'd

love to get in. Those are such unique opportunities. It

sounds horrible but it's like sometimes you almost get a

little bit numb to it because we do it so often which is

amazing to be able to say that. So it's like in 2026 I

really want to recognize while we're at those events and

take advantage of being at those events more. 100%. I just

want clapped car to be fixed. I miss that car so much. So

stop. I love that car. I love us two thousands too but that

thing that thing is a curse. Well, it's hard to listen.

There's a curse. She's had a hard life, right? Yeah and she's

spreading it on everyone. Give her a break. Give her a break.

Yeah. That car's been cursed since day one. I just kind of

wanted out of you. There's something going on and I love

us too. Okay. So for me to say that trust me on this. There's

something up with that curse piece of aluminum. It's steel.

really low or if you're running around the track or drift

track wherever you might be. Fantastic option. If you want

to upgrade from there, 510 is a great one to go with as

well. Got a few more features. You can customize a little

bit more and then it just goes on from there but pretty

much a lifetime product. If you want it to be, it could

possibly be the last set of coilovers you ever need to

buy for your car because you can get them rebuilt. You

can get them upgraded to from like the 500 to the 510 or

whatever it might be. Honestly, we went to their

facility. We saw how they were made. We saw the type of

quality control that they go through before they get boxed

up and sent out the door. Typically, people say you don't

want to see all the sausages made. I love seeing how

fortune auto coilovers were made. A lot of people say you

don't want. I don't think sausage is made. I've never

heard that in my life. Pig lips and assholes doesn't use a

car. Dude was making this. He was making this. That's not that

scary to me, dog. I've been there. But I tell you what,

this this pry thing. What's pry? It's pre actually. Oh,

prik. No, no, no prik. PRI. PRI, Performance Racing

Industry. It's a trade show. It's in Indianapolis. Oh,

Thursday. Damn. So, by the time this episode comes out,

actually, I will be there at PRI, which is really

exciting. But PRI is cool. It's a smaller trade show than

like a SEMA, for example. And it is from the SEMA

organization. Yeah, from the same organization as SEMA.

But really cool event because it's less showy and flashy

than SEMA. SEMA is very like. It has everything. SEMA is

everything from like formats to detailing to paint to

windows. Literally everything. SEMA is much more of, I would

say, like a global event. It's much more of an

international automotive trade show. PRI is really just

Performance and Racing. So, it's cool because a lot of your

big players are still there. You know, your Air Lifts and

your Hoosiers and your. You just said Performance and

Racing. What's Air Lift doing? Well, Air Lift Company, right

on the towing side of things. I was just asking because I'm

sure there's some people listening. Oh, yeah. Also,

the Air Lift Performance makes coilovers. Yeah. Which is

pretty cool. But anyway, so, you know, there's some of your

big companies there, but then there's also like all of your

retro or retro, not retro, but like vintage motor sports

brands, your Hollys and Edelbrocks and Brian Thuley

Racings and and it's cool because it's kind of this big

like melting pot of motorsports stuff. So, you have

diesel and dirt and drag racing and circle track and and

drifting and grid life is there and I mean it's if you like

going fast, turning one direction or another or

otherwise just having something that makes more power

than stock, it's a show for you. That's dope. I've never

been. Yeah, it's a lot of good things though. It's cool too

because like I think SEMA, SEMA can be a lot because

you're in Las Vegas, right? So, like you get done and then

you go out and everything is never in your face and it's

never ending. PRI school because you go to the show and

then you get done the show at five and then you go grab

dinner and then it's minus four degrees outside. So,

everyone is in. Like, I don't want to be one of the 12 bars

that directly is around. PRI is SEMA for old people. Uh

kinda. Yeah. Honestly. No, I've I've heard it. It's actually

like it's really. No, it's a lot of fun. It's it's cool and

it's a little bit smaller. So, like you can cover the show

in a day and a half, two days. This will be your third year

going now because you guys have gone what two years or is

this your second year? This is my four. Oh, shit. You've been

going for a minute. Thank either three or four. I have to

look back. This might be four because I think I went in

twenty-two, twenty-three. I brought Alex, twenty-four. I

brought Alex and Lars. Is it uh open to the public or do

you gotta be? Nope. You have to be a member. So, so you do

it. There's um there's a couple different ways you can

do it. Um but you do need to be a member of the PRI

organization um to get a pass to get in there. Gotcha. So, um

as long as you're like within the industry, it's pretty

easy. Gotcha. Yeah. I would take it most people probably

haven't gone. So, like what are a couple of your favorite

either booths to see or just things in general that you

see down there? I think for me personally, I love I love the

dirt world that's there. There's so many like uh Rico

Abru had his sprint car there last year. That's cool. That's

cool. Um there's always one or two late models there. I

know. You know, I think just the variety of builds

overall is really sick. Justin Ziggler will have his his

pro mod truck there. Um which I think he went four, four

thirty-five or something in the eighth mile. I mean just

stupid fast for a truck. Um but that stuff is there. I

think that's really cool. I think booth wise, honestly,

the booths are very minimally stated there. Like it's it's

not very showy like SEMA is. Right. It's more so just like

here's all the cool stuff we do. Um but like like uh usually

OMP is there and they'll fit you for suits or that's or K1

speed gear will have all their suits and things there as

well. You better come back with a suit. I'd like to. Yeah.

Because you're going to be racing. To be honest, I need to

get um I need if racing electronics is there, I need to

get them to fit me for a set of um earplugs because they do

like custom molded ear inserts or um for helmet setups and

things like that. So, I'd like to get that fit so I can I can

get a pair of those next year because air pods when you're

in the dome, not cutting it. No, not cutting it boys. I had

listen, Tinnitus is real and my ears was ringing. Oh, I

didn't even think of that. It's so loud. A bunch of thousand

horsepower race cars in a dome. Yeah, you you figure the

feature was 20 cars. So, that's you know, conservatively

18,000 horsepower. I guess yeah, it does make sense. I

remember seeing some like monster truck shows and yeah,

that that shit's loud. Yeah. Yeah, PR is really cool. I

enjoy it. So, what is um because it's not open to the

public and stuff, what are the companies like main goals? Why

are they going to this? What's the point? So, a couple of

couple things for for us that on the Meta Martini side, it's

all about connecting with brands and helping them kind of

you know, drive their businesses forward. Um for those of

you that don't know, I actually spend most of my time on on

the partner business here, Meta Martini which is a digital

marketing agency. Um so, I get to meet with a lot of my folks

there which is rad. Um but from a like a uh like Holly is

there for example, it's usually to debut products or to to

work with race teams directly because race teams will come

in, you know, talk about next year, um connect with all

their various sponsors and look at new products and things

like that. That's dope. Yeah. Yeah, it's really cool. It's

very low key, much more laid back than a than a SEMA is which

I think you need. Yeah, especially this time of year,

dude, it's like, man, we've been wide open since since

October. So, it's nice to have something a little bit more

low key. Yeah, back to back, SEMA's would be crazy. So,

yeah, I always thought it was like opposite time of the year

but it's like within. No, it's right there. Yeah. Hop right

back into it. Yeah. But no, it's a lot of fun, man. I I

really enjoy the event. Um yeah, it's just a a good way to

kind of round out the year and then kick off 2026 for the

bank. You just drive down there, right? Yeah, it's only like

six hours for us. So, to typically. Such a Midwestern

thing. Yeah. Alex Lars and I'll drive down. Ah, it's only

and uh then there's this cool little barbecue joint. We

stop out on the way back every year. It's just north of

Indy on I-65. I forget what the hell it's called but it's a

really nice place. Mom and Pop owned. Um the food's

incredible. We stopped there every year on Saturday when we

come back. Oh yeah. Famous Dave's. No, it's not famous

Dave's. It's better than famous Dave's. I'm just kidding. We

had the original famous. I tell you it's better. Yeah, right.

I would tell you guys it's better than Dave's hot chicken

but I wouldn't know because Brent didn't bring me any. When

did Brent have Dave's hot chicken? Uh the same day we all

had ice cream. Oh, we got all right. Never mind. I'll let

you guys know there's a day that Dustin brought in ice cream

for everyone but I use everyone loosely because everyone

got to accept me. Yeah. He got to me. He's like, sorry, I'm

out. I'm like, what? Everyone's like, oh, yeah. You want to

buy you to mine? I don't know. I want to fucking buy you.

It could be fair. It could be fair. I offered to give you

mine and you said no. It's not the same Dustin. I know. I

know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm a terrible human. And I

would have never brought that up. No one. No wonder you

hate me. You called out Brent. Yeah, who's just sitting

there. This is why Brent or this is why Dakota hates me.

No, I love Dave's hot chicken though. I've never been. Dave's

hot chicken. You've never ever been to Dave's hot chicken. No.

We have one in town. Yeah, but I was supposed to go with you

guys and then I got busy and then I texted Brent and asked

him to bring me some back and then he said no. Yeah, you

bad that the lady brought ice cream out to him. Oh my god.

I'm so sorry. That's how you can get your ice cream. That's

how you get your ice cream. He's going to someone's given you

ice cream. Maybe if you would have maybe if you would have

cried, I'd have brought you. I was crying. She was an

absolute angel. I was trying to hold it together. I was

literally like just like no joke. Here's we're coming out

man. I was like, it was so fucking hot. I was like, and

she's like, I can just bring she's like, you're you're not

having a good time. I'm like, no, I'm not. I've seen gels

react to that. He took a pretty I would say respectable

bite. So then I'm like, holy cow, that must be like crazy.

So I took like half a bite probably what you did. And yeah,

dude, dude, we bought one and we like shared it with all the

table. Yeah, we're like, everyone's oh, we're gonna try

trying to get their food. There's just a table like five of
