Radio on w KQA Freedom Radio. I'm your host, Big DAVP hanging out
with Camera Chaos and NATEVB. It's a great day for a radio show.
Hopefully you guys are enjoying the weather where you're at. I know everybody always
tells me that they don't know what the weather's going to be like where I am, So stop talking about your great weather because we don't have good weather.
We have okay, wed the weather's been not bad, it hasn't been horrible. I mean, we were on the threat of a nor'easter and now
maybe it's not going to hit us. I heard thunder today. I thought
it was somebody knocking on the door. Yeah. Like, I'm like,
I don't know. So right this second, the weather's holding out good.
I can use some rain. I put some grass seed in and I didn't
get any rain to go along with it, so I don't know. We'll
see what ends up happening. It's been an interesting week. I had to
do some traveling, so I was doing a little bit of traveling and I still haven't yet to have my question answered for me of what's going on with North Carolina. I asked you guys to tell me. I'm still a little
mystified if you don't know what I'm talking about. A couple of weeks ago,
I asked you guys when I did some traveling down North Carolina. I
go North Carolina all the time, but particularly parts of North Carolina. When
I'm traveling, I realized that it was broken down cars everywhere. I post
this question to you guys. Explain it to me. Why you guys can
have broken down cars on the freeway nobody comes and tows them, and why if we had it, they get towed quickly. But when I mean excessive,
I mean excessive amount of broken down cars on the freeway. They're just
sitting there, And we had a whole conversation about it. Well, this
time I was down in the same area, and sure you were in the junk yard. I'm not. I'm okay. So I did get a couple
of people that asked me after the last show we talked about this. They're
like, where were you? I was down in the Durham area. I
have to go down to Duke. Everybody knows that that listens to the show
regularly that I suffered from migraines. It's called I was down at Duke Medical
Hospital for spent a couple of days down there. And while I was down
there, and you're in the area, every time that I've gone down there, there's cars everywhere broken down on the freeway and they're just sitting there.
And what I mean that they're sitting there. I passed them a couple of
different times the days that I'm down there, so it's not like anybody's coming retrieving them. They're just there and that doesn't happen here, Like you can't
get away with that. Your car breaks down and within a couple of hours
they scoop it about the freeway and it's gone. It's in a tow yard
somewhere. So it mystifies me that that happens in the area. And I'm
just trying to figure out how how that happens and how you'll get away with them sitting for so long because I want to saying, you couldn't pull that off here, and if you have to get an answer, but I'm sure there's a logical somebody will tell us. Some somebody's gonna tell me. Someone's
gonna answer this quacking. We live close to it. So another thing that
I noticed why I was there is I think maybe and Dawn told me she thinks this is the answer for it. It's hilly, like there's a lot
of like up and down like little hills throughout the area right in that area, and people come whipping over the top of the hills really really fast.
And I happen to notice there's a lot of cars that have fender benders, like constantly on like a lot of cars, And I'm thinking, maybe that's the reason why there's a lot of fender bender cars, because they're pumping into each other. I mean I almost got taken out like six or seven times,
just trying to move around. And I'm a pretty good driver. And
I was like whoa Like well, like I said, and Don's like, do they not look? And I'm like, no, I don't. I
don't think there there were roads right now. You realize you're a visitor too,
yours. I'm just like, I'm just a visitor. Just don't mind
me, just trying to get every day. Yeah, we were just talking
about that the other day. I'm like, I'm just trying to make my
way through here. I just want to get to the hospital without getting hit
and get back to my hotel room, back to the hospital, back to my hotel room. So I'm trying to do here. Please don't hit my
car. So I managed not to get hit, and then I make it
all the way back to Virginia. And here's my pet peeve of the day.
Here we go. I got a rent. You're ready, I'm ready.
I haven't had one in a while, Guys, I haven't had one.
I haven't had one. I cannot stand you are they already where I'm
going with this? I hate trucks on the highway, big semi trucks and
like, look, so I okay, I don't hate all some of my trucks. I hate the ones I pull onto the road with rocks all in
their wheels and just flick things everywhere. I got. I was going on
the road, minding my own business. I'm in the fast lane, and
a truck had come off there, and I saw him way up there.
He goes directly to the middle lane. He's in the middle lane, and
he's just flicking rocks everywhere. And I could hear the sand first, and
then I could hear the bigger rocks. So I'm trying to get past them.
But traffic is so slow in the fast lane. If you're the fast
lane, please go fast. It's if the spiel lim at sixty. You
don't have to do sixty. Go go something other than sixty miles an hour.
Just just go, please. So I had to slow down, and
of course as I slow down, the truck now has the opportunity to gain on me and go past me again. I've already made my way past him.
As he goes past me, I hear the sand coming, and then I hear everything. Sure enough, I got I got a I got chipping
the wind show from him. Now you know there's nothing you can do.
You're not gonna flag guy down. Hey what did you take a picture?
Excuse me? No, you contact the company. They're gonna know because they're
gonna deny it. I played that game in my younger years. There can't
deny ail. Look, they can deny. They're gonna say it didn't come
from my truck. A video. What are you gonna do? Take an
after effect video. You're gonna be like, hey, after the effect,
here's here's why. I mean you can you can, you know, you
can show reason, whise right. They're gonna go Look, they're they're gonna
go back and forth with you, and they're gonna be like, how do we know that wasn't there before? How do we know it wasn't there afterwards?
It's there's there's that thing where they're gonna get there. You know,
you can't prove they did it. You can just prove there's now a a
chip there. You can't prove it that vehicle did other than your say so
right, yes and no, unless you had a picture before, right, Yeah, I took it before. No, I mean you know prior.
I just say it. I'm just saying, I just know better that's not
gonna work, but I tried. So as he passes me, and I'm
stuck behind this vehicle going sixty miles an hour in the fast lane and he's passing us in the middle lane. So I'm stuck. So I try to
go swing behind him and go to the slow lane because that lane's open more.
It's like creep up on the slow lane. I go up and I
get get started to get passing, and then of course I hit slow traffic and then he creeps back alongside. I'm just I feel like I was in
a sand blaster. I just can you hear my frustration? Guys? That
was I was extremely irustrated. Look, here's a solution. You get a
dash cam, okay, because there's all the proof you have, right, I have not put a dash can in that car. I need to.
I have to because I was leaving earlier and stuff. I had someone try
to breakch at me co wing around a turn, and I'm like, man, the things I want to do to break checkers. But it's just like
I'm just thinking, I'm like, man, if I had dash cam though, because you it's hard. It's hard. It's so much you know,
naysay about what you know, who did what you know? One of the
best investments that you can have. One of the best investments you can have
is truly put a really good camera system front and back camera system in your car. We don't have one in that car. I wish that we did.
It's happened. But here's the thing. Now, I'm stuck in that
situation and camera was giving me hard time before we came on the air about the He's like, oh, you made up your story. Hey, do
you have any no? And my first question was do you have any insurance
or what's your insurance? Do you have any no insurance? Well, they
do it for free, right, They do it for filling and say that they do it for free. Right. That's not what I said. I
know they safe Light used to have the program if you at one point in time, and I don't think story was hard called them. They used to
have it where you called safe Light and they came out and fixed your chip and they just smitched your insurance company. Didn't cost you anything because you didn't
have to pay deductible because your insurance company preferred you'd fix a chip and let it sit there long enough ort to become a long crack where they had to place your wind show. That's it used to be a lot of it,
wasn't They weren't the only person advertising that was somebody else was advertising that too.
I just, I said, a camera, I said, I think they're still doing that. I'm just not sure. Somehow they turn into what
he just tried to. They've came and replaced my wind show twice now.
But and what I had said to him, I was just like, it's in their best interest to come fix the rock chip in my windshield versus you know, and not charge me and not me have paid a deduct one a rock chip. Then would be if I just leave it there and I let
the window completely crack because I'm driving the camera and as you guys know, that has the AD off system and it has to be all recalibered. And
then the cost of the windshield. Now you're talking couple thousand dollars into a
windshield versus just come and fixing a little chip in the windshield. So if
you know, if I was the insurance company, I'm not saying, but I am saying, I rather the person be responsible and call and say Hey, I have this little ship. Oh, we'll send out mister customer,
will take care of that ship for free, because we'd hate to spend thousands of dollars replaced in the windshield. The customers always right, because you decided
to leave it there and let it become a long, huge crack that need to be replaced. You have a fifteen windshield. And by the way,
you have to have a twelve hundred dollars recalibration of your cameras because you have the ad OS system in your car. If you guys don't know what that
is. That's the self driving technology that's in our cars now, and if
you have that in your new car has to all be recalibrated because your car won't know to break and stop and do all the right things in your car underneath self driving unless it's all calibrated by somebody. I'm not heated. I
just I hate trucks. I just think there's you know, once again,
being prehistoric times, you would just think by now we'd find some way to let you know, rocks not sticking truck tires and people. They get on
the freeway and then destroy cars. I don't know, you guys, Yes,
it is mine, and yes I am. I am upset if there
was some way that the roads were just made of fout rocks. You know,
theres some way he was pulling out of where the I know where he was pulling. He's pulling over. There's a there's a gravel yard and stuff
over there, so I know that's where he was pulling out of. I
know the area well. And it's funny because I know exactly what truck you're
talking or truckman or brand you're talking about, because it's the one right over there, and they did the same thing, and I was the person to go chase them. Yeah, I do have a video of that truck like
you were asking, and yes, I did go chase that person's to submit it. I'm just saying I showed I showed it. Act of it is.
I'm just saying I just I just hate I'm very particularly my cars.
You guys know I've listened to the show long enough. You guys know I
like my cars clean. I don't like things messed up on them. And
it just really upsets me when people are careless that now you know you're coming out of that area, you know there should be there's something. Isn't there
something that big trucks drive across the post knock the rocks up out of the tire when they come out of those areas. Anyway, I don't know.
I believe there is. I should know the answer to that. I don't.
But somebody's gonna correct me. Somebody's gonna be like, there is,
Dave, and this is what it's called, and you should know that.
I know that's what's gonna happen. But I'm just saying, now I gotta
deal with the chip. Not that it's a big deal. You just call
somebody and let them felix. But it's just it was aggravating where it would
happen, and just the fact that the truck's just you can't tell me you're not driving that big truck and you can't see that stuff like that missing around sand coming off the back of your truck. You're just there is. And
they're called tucks out control mats. This guy in the crowd, you're welcome.
No, yes, no, there is called they're called trackout control mats and they're tireing, tread, pick up and lot control mats for exits and entrances to be able to knock. They're working very well. That's falling out
of the bed. No, I don't know problem right right, And I
don't And I can't see if it's falling out of the bed, if it's kicking off the tires, I can't say. All I can say is that's
where it was coming out of. And where's you want? Where's cot guys?
Like I said, it's just, you know, it's it's already a nice you know, longer drive having to drive, you know, going back and forth and and and trust me, you know, appreciate appreciating doctors and stuff like that, but just the drive already is already that drive and then just have that happening. You're just like I made it all the way back
to nothing happening, and now here we are, you know what I mean.
I'm just so just no doctor. I was enjoying the fields and then
a rock came out of nowhere. Like I said, it's just, you
know, we have that car because it's a great car to drive. And
you know, I know a lot of people have all their brands that they like, but if you really want a nice driving car and a like a long trip, I told you, guys, the toylet camera is very comfortable to drive, and especially if you put it in on all it self driving features, it makes the car pleasant driving trip because the car does a lot of stuff for you with camera. I'm not gonna lie. I can't wait.
I can't wait to actually go on a road trip in my new car.
Just uh, why don't use all the features? And it's kind of
getna feel, you know, like taking it back and forth. I don't
really get, you know, time actually sit in and drive it around.
No, like ill you don't read an open road, you don't, don't you don't open road? You already have enough. He's like, something tells
me how'm missing something. I've been in the car enough with him, I
think it's what's you know? I take it easy. He's like, I
take it easy. I even have it like limit, you know, like
set as a limited, so like I'm not like I have it on a truck, especially because I haven't really broken it in, so you know, I'm not trying to do too much. I was wondering if a mask if
a Mustang passed me, And when I pulled up to the red light four lights ahead of me, I come to realize somebody that I passed twenty minutes to go dead pass me. Yeah, I'll get the real story. Going

Now back to your host Dave Polach. Welcome back, guys. Hey,
so commercial break right. I told you I get the story behind the
story, and like a fly, some stories you just can't share, or I shall say you probably could, but you're best, not better, not known. Hey, yeah, that was a good story. Apparently Mustang's seen
a little flight time. I'm just gonna leave at that. Uh makes makes
for good stories of how it's breaking breaking to look drive safely boys and girls, I say, all right, So moving on, I think I found that I think I've literally mastered the hack, the winter hack. This is
great too. So I was reading this article. It was talking about people
who you know, are like most car people obviously, who are very protective of their cars, and you know, winter comes around and we hate the fact that we Either there's two different type of people. People who have have
a very nice car and they put the car away for the winner, and of course they have their regular everyday drive car. And then there's those who
have to drive their car all year round because it is there car. You
know, it's their daily driver and stuff. Well, when something happens.
But I started, you know, reading an article, and then of course, as I told you guys, I tend to go down like the rabbit hole, like you wouldn't believe on some things. And this one let me
down the rabbit hole. And I truly I enjoyed the article, and then
I enjoyed going down this rabbit hole of just trying to, I don't know, piece this together and figure it out. And I think I have mastered
this. This is a great idea. So think about it. Most of
us who have something nice, who are forced to drive it all year long right when we get to wintertime. I know, for me and I have
you know, I like my truck. My truck is my daily driver.
And then of course I have you know, a muscle car, and I wouldn't dare drive that during the winter months. But okay, let's just say
the pickup truck. I spent a lot of time keeping my truck washed and
keeping it sprayed off and stuff like that during the wintertime because I want it to stay nice. So I'm constantly getting on the crud off of it as
when we go through the winter months and stuff like that. And there's a
cost to that, you know, to keep it nice. So if you
guys had to think about it, what do you guys think would be average costs that we spend during the wintertime of keeping our car cleaned off and keeping it nice during during the winter months here in this area at least, what do you think that average cost would be? Am I doing it myself at
home? Or I know you're not, You're too lazy to do it in
the in the cold. You're in the winter. Okay, yeah, you're
not doing in the cold. You're going to self wash. You're taking it
over to the bell, you're taking over the majestic. You're taking somebody doing
myself. Don't good, but you're not good. You're not going to do
it in the cold. I'm not stepping out like I have the ability to
pull it in the garage and spray off in the garage, and I don't have to, you know, I can turn the heater on and get it, but you don't really even then, I'm still taking over to Majestic, letting them do it quite a bit of times during the winter to keep it nice. So let's be realistic. So just what just in the winter months,
in the winter months, this is the winter heck, I'd say probably no more than three hundred dollars three I take a little more than that, you think, So, yeah, probably depends what you're doing, right, I mean depending if you're buying like you know, different sprays or you know, I'm spend five six hundred dollars in the winter months keeping my stuff all cleaned up, sprayed offs, all the all the soap and stuff. I
said, I'm going to say, I'm thinking about five six hundred dollars so soap, you know water, and that's like doing it yourself and then taking it to other places, you know. I think that's But my question is,
yeah, when are you six? When are you counting the winter months?
Are you counting it from like starting October or starting November? Twill say,
starting beginning November and carrying you all the way through till March. Now
are you talking about like a service or are you talking about like just going to your you know, car wash. I'm going to both combination of both,
because I could believe five six if you're going to professional and you're getting you know, the works or no, no, no, no, because here's the thing. If you go to like a Bell or a Majestic or
something like that, those are two places out by a sky's I know you guys have just regular car washes automatic you're into it for okay, just just for the manager special. It's thirty nine ninety five and all that does give
you a wash, I mean white down on the inside. That's thirty nine
ninety five all by itself. Y'all. Three y'alls out there, Hurricane Hey,
you think I'm just saying that's thirty nine ninety five for the manager Special.
By time you tip and stuff like that, you're gonna, oh, you're just shy at fifty bucks by being into it for one wash, that's it. One wash. So if you do it quite a few times throughout
the winter months, you're easily gonna be into it. One of how you
do save money on that though? All right? So the way I save
money on those go get just don't do them, no, go ask about the memberships, especially around this time ago. Yeah, and I still have
one. So I have one with Hurricane right now and it only costs me
ten bucks a month. But I can go up and wash my car any
single time I want. And it's a manager Special category five. If you
went and originally bought that car washes nine dollars car? Was it the text
message one that you saw? All right, hold on, yeah, that's
let me bump you up. So if you just do the regular old gustment
manager special, and then why do they call it? They always everybody has
a manager special lot. But if you do the manager special, you don't
want to just say you get to be like April and it's time to start hitting some shows and stuff, and you really want to get everything clean up.
But you just want to get that daily driver clean back up. Again.
That's your it's your daily driver. But you tend to take some cars
and coffee now especially, it's just like the regular service to you. You
got you got to go ahead and to a polish on it and all that kind of stuff, right, right, If you're gonna pay somebody to do that, you know you're gonna be in dire for three or four hundred dollars, right, yeah, so now that's gonna last a long hold on.
But so now you're six seven eight, no, nine hundred dollars into it, right you follow me? Not even talking about tires, talking about break
not just maybe it's included. Okay, this is where the hat comes in.
This is where the hack comes in. You one hundred percent have to
figure out this hack, right, this is you ready for this hack?
Great? Okay, how about just buy a used beater, a use beater
for the winter months. Hear me out, This is great, use beater
for the winter months, right, right, you go buy yourself like a twenty five hundred dollars car, maybe a three thousand dollars It could be twenty five hundred, keep it cheap, and you just drive the wheels off of it for the winter months. Okay, But then I'm thinking, okay,
why buy a beater when you can just buy something you want and drive the wheels off. Hold on, just it's the same thing regardless. You're losing
money, Okay, hold on, but you're not. Hold on, you're
not. You're just not losing that prize possession later on, later on.
So you put your prize possession away, you know, and you drive a beater, right, So you just drive that beader by way. It's not
guarantee that it still doesn't rust in the garage. No, no, no,
no, no, we don't care because it's just a beater. We
don't care. When I say, by beating, you probably like a twenty
five hundred dollars beater and you just drive that thing, you drive the wheels off it for the winter market. Twenty five hundred. You won't get some
of the window. So I did a little research. Twenty five hundred dollars,
you can still get a decent car, like I found it was.
They're beaters. Keep in mind, they're beaters. I've looked there. Sometimes
there's cars long now they found what are you talking about? That ninety nine
Corollas and they had over two hundred thousand. I say, what are you
talking about? Is they're not gonna last after Christmas? There just look,
because they're gonna die a winter. They're gonna get you through. They're gonna
get you through the winter months, all right, and they're gonna last no longer. Look and the whole on. Here's where he's not in sight for
that car. This is where the hack work, guys. So you get
through the winter months and you drove the wheels off it, you didn't tear up what you had, and then April comes around. There's that kid that
got some Christmas money, maybe some birthday money, whatever. You put that
thing up for sale, and he's got his first car that he can learn how to work on. No hold on, look, look, look,
look, look look, because it's still a good running car. You drove
it, and you sell it and you only sell it for five hundred and six hundred dollars less than you bought it for. Hold oh, because every
it makes it okay, because you're only selling it five hundred dollars six hundred dollar, right, you're giving him another running car. You are giving him
a running he's gonna learn how to wrench on. You're giving him a car
that he's gonna learn how to wrench on. Right, that's what's gonna happen.
He's gonna learn how to wrench on it. He still gets a good
car. It's his first car, which we all learned how to wrench on
our first cars. It's a win win. You turn the car back over.
You go ahead and sell it for five six dollars less. It's for
you. You for the same amount of money that you would have spent.
And then you turned the car over. You've probably saved a couple of bucks
by doing it that way. It's a perfect winner hack. But then you
got a prob hair you don't. It doesn't matter. Adding a perfect car
is don't cost you anything at your in a perfect Why did you over by, you know, over buy that car? Right? So then and then
and then you sell her by that car I mean like, but hold on to it until you like recoup that value market. You don't care change it.
You're dumping that car as soon as winner's over. You're just putting the
car back up for sale. And you're getting rid of it. You're gonna
drop the value down than what you bought it for. So you know what's
gonna sell, because you just paid for that, not just four months ago.
So you know the car is gonna sell. It's gonna be less money.
It's the perfect hack. Think about this. I thought about this.
This is a perfect hack. I don't think that's looking for Someone bought it.
Someone's gonna buy it. You bought it. Somebody else is gonna buy
that car. Think about it. You purchased it somebody else and cheap.
I bought it knowing that I'm not keeping missing car. Drive the wheels off,
and I'm telling you, some kids are gonna be looking at that car and go, man ninety nine crol it's got under two, it's got or it's got two hundred thousand miles. Now it's got Who you kidding this,
it's got two hundred thousand miles. It's my first car. I can drive
this thing around. I put some brakes on it, throw some rowers on
it, fix it up, tape up the seats, got tape it up.
Put air fresher in it. This black ice obviously enroll with it.
He's good. I shant to say, Man, this is the perfect hack,
and you come out better. You spent less money than trying to keep
your car clean all the time and putting the miles and damage, letting all that salt and stuff hit your car. You ain't got to worry about any
of that. This is it's not terrible. But there's a road to get
there. Okay, So there's a little like it's definitely not there any means,
there is a couple of bumps in the road. But you got admit,
you can get there, right, you could, You can get there.
You got a me there is buy a two hundred thousand mile car though still nothing nothing. My dad had one that had like three hundred and fifty
three thousand miles. On a crolling you're literally gaming one of those kids like
took a whack out of you got you got a better chance rolling some dice and getting some really good you know, then hoping that thing because like you know you're gonna put some hack. Yeah, but like the Winter Hack of
the future. This is perfect. But you know you're gonna push on working
in that thing, and it's like, is it really why don't you how you messing my hack up? We're not trying, That's what I'm saying,
just jumping in it, turning the key brother, and we are driving for four months. That's it. That's all we're doing. And when we're done,
we're putting up for saying, okay, I'll put us out of winch of wipers on it. That makes you happy. But we're rolling, that's
all. Yours are expensive, dude, Yes, they're always back before when
your wifers the other day they came in, He's like, hey, let me know when wins your wipers get there, and I tell him. He
comes to pick up. He's let me tell you what these babies cost me?
And they weren't here the kind of eye and then he looks at me and goes, but they're not bosh because I don't because I don't like I like. He likes Boss. He likes Boss. Don't let fool. He
likes Boss. But he saw the Boss price tag. He's like, I'm
buying Boss. What's the bad boys right next? Where thirty bucks? Boss?
For sixty bucks? You pick your choice. Okay, you pick your
choice. Really it's double double. You're not cheap. But I'm telling you
to tell you guys, all the time. I use Bosh because I like
him and I know that they work and they're a good product. I'm not
saying that the cheapest thing out there, but I do know that I can run him for a really long time. And they don't. They know that
it's so expensive that they don't sell them in a pair. They go they
say, you can afford this one today, and you can. Yes,
gosh. I have been using Bosh wipers on my vehicles for a very long
time. You guys know you hear me talk about them all the time.
I love them, I believe them. I think they're a great product.
I'm not saying they're the cheapest thing out there. I've never told you guys
that ever. You you'll never hear me say, oh, they're the cheapest
thing out there. I know they're not. I just know if I put
them on my car, they one hundred percent work. They whisk away the
water that I want too. They was whisk way. I saw kinds of
goop them up everything. They work like they're supposed to. So that's the
reason why I believe in them. I've never ever said, well, hi
boy them because they're value wiper. That's never been anything I've ever said to
anybody. What I'm saying is I can put them on my car and they
work until I'm ready to take them up. Now, keep in mind,
I've told you guys, I take them off way premature because I have this weird wiper fetish that I can't explain. I told you I throw them in
the trash, and somebody should go pick them upyle of the trash and put them on their car and get another three or four months use out of them, you know, wipe your he's down. I just I do. But
I just take them off instinctively. I just take them throwing the trash and
by another pair. I've done it forever, so you don't know. I
know they still have life in them. I know they I know you think
une. Yeah, I know you said yours repels, but minor post water
it works. No, But I mean it's like a year. There's aything
wrong with your rain next. I'm sure they do a great job. Definitely
been like a year since every No, at least two years since every places.
At the end of the day, I think by winter hacks hack is a really, really good idea. I think it may have It may take
you a little to get there, but let it settle in. It's like
a fine one. Switch around a little bit that you guys, some of
what you think I would say, like a hundred thousand miles. I want
to come back for a Dorshall break. I got some more for you.

Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio. You're automotive specialist. Now back
to your host, Dave Pilach. Hey, guys, welcome back. All
right, so I'm gonna jump into this. I've been getting a lot of
letters and letters, emails and Texas and stuff on this topic. If you
guys didn't know, I grew up in Vegas, so of course this would come around and people would ask me what I thought and what I've heard, and you name it so here it is. If you've been paying attention,
you guys know that F one was coming to Vegas and has now the time's come around and they're in Vegas. If you've seen online the pictures and there's
tiktoks and you name it, every single type of platform there is is talking about F one in Vegas. And now that it's really been all that good,
I guess and I don't mean to bash on the system. You've been
paying attention to see any of this. I've seen a little bit, but
I'm not too well informed on it. Yeah, it's it's so it started
off with them starting to build it up and so when we were there, I know that they wanted to bring it to more city wise so that you know, I said, people coming out to see them, it'd be easier for you know, if people have to travel, they would have to really deal with all the promotion. It was a huge promotion for us. So
over a year ago when Dawn and I were in Vegas, it was the big buzz. So people were talking about it. People were excited, and
I was excited about the fact that was a really good idea. And back
to the point where we talked talked about taking the show and going there because I just thought it was really cool, uh, it being Vegas and where I went to school and everything while I was there, you know, I lived there, what elementary, junior, high, high school and stuff and lived there, so I was excited for them to be there. I just
thought it was the strip and everything. While it's gonna be off through the
strip. Not that I lived down, but down through the strips you understand,
places I hung out, you know, all through school, and it was just you know, good party atmosphere. And then this is where you
were like, I wish they actually take cars here one time, you know, or I always I would race down this road. I had said it
for a long time. I said, you know, Vegas would be a
really cool place to do some type of race. I always being a NASCAR
fan, I was just like, I love to see NASCAR race down through the straight streets. And then here we are with F one. I was
like, okay, close enough, I mean we're getting there. I'm like
there, that's like you know. I was like, you know, this
is cool. But then so people start reaching out to me that I knew
and start sending me some pictures and stuff that we're going on. You guys
seen it, if you like, said even paying tench if we haven't where they were, you know, just closing off the strip and it was all everything was blocked off, and they're building grandstands and blocking views. And then
the stories came out about the prices for everything. So just start getting some
negative press, and I kind of try to put a blind eye to it, not so much to the fact that I didn't want any bad press.
I hate anytime there's bad press for our city as far as and I still have a deep connection to it. And as you guys know, I bounced
between Vegas and Chicago back and forth quite a bit before I landed here many many years ago, so I have deep connections to those two cities, and I always like to see them progress. We go back to Vegas. We
try to go back a couple times a year and hang out, and I try to connect with friends and family or whatever that's still there while I'm there.
So I always want to see them, you know, really pull their bootstraps up, because they got beat around a lot during COVID. If you
guys didn't see the pictures of Vegas during COVID, it was horrible. I
mean, they just really really got beat up. So they are still really
trying to recover from that as it is. So I was excited for this
to happen me. You guys know, I uh really big into racing.
So I love a lot of different racing series and stuff. But I have
pulled away from it over the years quite a bit. And the reason why
is we keep on, and I say we, the sanctioning bodies of racing keep getting their hands so deep into racing. They just really keep on mucking
it up that they forget what racing is all about. They literally messing it
up for the fans. I think. I just think they get their hands
so deep into it they take away the pleasure of the experience for the fans.
Unfortunately, you know, a huge NASCAR fans. We spend a lot
of time out the tracks and hanging out with fans and racers and stuff and had a great time, and that just got to be so messed up that I just kind of I lost the drive and wanted to do that. And
I really drivers have too. Yeah, I missed, I miss Yeah,
I think some of them have to and I and I miss some of that because I miss hanging out and having a good time, and I think you guys do too. We really enjoyed doing that. I did, and uh,
well it kind of gets to that point where like, you know, some people were like, why do you watch NASCAR's only you know, they're only going around in a circle, and so it's kind of like kind of really got to that point where like it was just really that's what it became, right, right exactly. Unfortunately, Yeah, they got so involved.
You couldn't they couldn't have the guys on the track, couldn't have any fun.
You couldn't do this, you couldn't do that, and they just took everything you couldn't It was just you couldn't have any rub. You couldn't scream
Ricky Bobby, I'm on fire. You know, you couldn't go run out
onto the track and go throw helmets at people bush and you know, I just that's the point the good old boy racing. And I understand there has
to be certain rules, but just a good old boy part of racing, Like, look, I'm just one of those people. If you want to
go out there and tear up your million dollar race car, please do and make sure I'm sitting in the stands when you do. I'm that kind you
were the heydays where like they would really show like some like then tense racing and you know, people get back in the pits and stuff, and you know, people really have the fires, conversation together or whatever about you know, really being serious about the racing. You know kind yeah, right exactly
like I just I'm that old boy racing or those heated, heated debates right after the those races I'm talking about those heat debates are fights you know where somebody was where the crew chiefs already knew what punch was getting down, but you were just trying to race there until safety got down to the pit crew.
I was like down and seeing that stuff close up back in the day.
And I'm not saying that's what I went for, but just just never mission the passion for the racing. You knew anything to happen any moment,
and you just wait for it to happen. Those gators. So you get
around to F one being in Vegas and you know, like I said, there's the stories that came out there and here's the thing. So let's move
forward. Here we are, first day of racing, what was what yesterday?
Was that today? I don't know. Okay, I don't even know.
I mean it's one of the day. They they lasted for ten minutes.
It was practiced. Wasn't practice, I was practiced. Was like,
yeah, a practice race practice. Everybody came out for it and it lasted
ten minutes. Part of the track got ripped up by one of the ferraris.
The ferraris damaged. Apparently UH can almost be on repair, I guess
for making it back to the race, but they penalized him. If he
does make it back to the race, he's gonna have to go back like ten spots. And it was his fault because they didn't seal down like one
of the caps to the sewer system or something, and the car went over and ripped it up and that's what damaged the car. So right, so
they're also talking about how the pits come out right and to turn two, so they're like right into the raceway and stuff. You're not worried about that,
you that you could figure out, but the fact that you know, the fans, the pricing was way over the top of when anybody can afford.
And so then they and then they're the premiums. If you wanted,
like restaurants to overlook the track. They tried to block the view on that,
and they just took They just took a lot away, the fan experience, the bad press that goes along with it, the fans bad take.
They take Vegas over it. They took the Vegas experience away. Vegas is
where you can go to it and made it affordable. They could have went
made it affordable where anybody who was anybody could have went down there enjoyed themselves.
Now, look, if you're a big fat cat and you have tons of money expend and you wanted that experience, they could have an area for that experience, but still made it where Look, if you're just walking down strip the cars went whipping by and stuff like that, it didn't need to block the view. For Vegas is known for seeing strange things, right,
and that weird time, right, you know, and you don't know where you can see. You can look wherever, and there's always a sight to
see. That would have been the best thing. You could have looked to
the left seeing some girls, could have looked to the right cars, cars, and then you could have won the way just went on a way to block it all off and unless you paid big money and stuff like that out here where they have their selling rooms for like twenty five dollars, because they didn't get the crowd they thought they were going to get. Well, they
came to Vegas. It's not like they're you know, they're from Vegas,
so it's like they were, you know, they're they should have put a show on, right, they should have put a show on that everybody could afford to go to cities. It was back to the conversation we were just
having a couple of weeks ago where we talked about how if you're a racer and you're this person that gets paid a big money, you should be happy to see fans. You should put on a small fan. I can tell
you how many times that's not the case. These videos are appearing of these
F one drivers arriving in the airport. Has a lot to do with the
drivers at them. Really, Yeah, it's with them too. Yeah.
They don't want to say hello, they don't want to give you a SMID.
I don't know. I didn't see that video. I hope I don't
see that video because that's just that's go look it up. If I was
a racer, I'd be shaking babies, shaking babies, shaking hands, kiss some babies. I mean, you know what I mean. Yeah, I'm
just saying, guys, it's I think they had they missed. It was
a big missed opportunity. It's sad that it happened in Vegas, one of
the places that I absolutely love. I said, if you guys haven't seen
it, go look it up. Unfortunately, like I said, you know,
some people say bad press is good press, but I don't think in this situation. And I note I can take question from commercial break. When
I come back, I got some more for you. Hotype. We'll be

Now back to your host, Dave Polac. All right, here's another one
for you guys. You guys ready for this? Probably not, but I'm
gonna take you there anyway. I'm gonna hits my truck up to drag you
right on down the freeway with this one. All right, So we all
know that every year it comes around right that Christmas? Well too, there's
always like everybody has their pick of the year. Is that the right way
you may put it? What I mean is the car of the year,
Like this person's car the year, this magazine's car of the year, this many manufacturer's list of the year. Do you ever feel like the top ten,
the top twenty, the top twenty five. I just as I start
to read the list every year, I just kind of feel like, if it's the top ten, why does three different sites have the number one vehicles?
You know? Well, I mean because they I feel like because they
you know, they research different stuff, so like, you know, there maybe their magazine is lean towards you know, a different I mean what their advertisers are. I mean, what what what where? I was going.
Do you ever think that we like, do you ever think that the magazines go out to these people and go, hey, we're going to be going to make this article. If you pay me a thousand dollars, it will
go to first I don't thousand dollars out there. I'm just saying, like
a money number, you know, it will go to first place. And
Okay, it's just how many views we get on our page. I'm gonna
get much. I'm gonna get so much hate, hate mail from all those
editors. But I'm just saying, here's a I just feel like we get
pushed towards. Guy. I know you're gonna hate this comparison the nice new
shiny iPhone this year. You know, I feel like we're just we always
get shoved into whatever is the nice new shiny for the year, you know what I mean. Like, I mean, yes, there's some cars that
make these lists. I'm like, there's no way somebody said that was the
car of the year. Like I me, there's no way that that was
their pick. There's no way somebody checked that box and went, God,
I'd like to have that car. There's no way that happened. Somebody is
choosing between like what comes on the platform. So I feel like like they'll
pick some like weird car. But it's because you know, they like this
one feature about the car. I feel like it's not because the whole picture.
Mean the person writ in the article like that, the yes, come on, come on, we'll say, you know, and listen to affiliated in the news. In the news right for small cars. Number three they're
trying to say is a twenty twenty three BMW M two. Not everybody's going
to buy a BMW's. But get this, what do you think the number
one subcompact car is? Nate hmm, can no, a Mini Cooper.
No way, I'm telling you Mini Cooper is telling number one? Sum Maybe
Okay, tell me I'm wrong. Look, you know how to text me,
send me messages. There's no I'm not picking the Mini Cooper on my
list. I'm just not doing that for a lot of reasons. How many
problems does the Mini Cooper had? Oh? No, only one right for
a reason. I mean, look, Bennie Coopers are cool. Don't be
wrong. I think they're a cool little car. They're a niche car.
I'm just not picking it as like my number three spot or whatever, my number one spot. I'm just I'm not putting that car in my spot.
What are the choices of the subcompact? By the way, just curious,
what is the I mean it's overall though, right, so it's not just United States, all right, it's all the Mini Cooper coming in first, the Kio Rio coming in seconds. Okay, but what are the choice if
I said subcompact, what would my choices be? I'm thinking that it.
Let's see here full rankings. Let's see all right, so you got the
Mini Cooper, the Kia Rio, the Nissan Versa, the Clubman Mini Cooper, or the Mitchibi Mirage. Ain't nobody buying those cars? They still made
a mirage. They still make a mirage. Imber lot of people had a
Mirage. I don't know they still made them. It's thirty six miles,
Yeah, got some miles. I'm just saying, Look, the reality of
it is is I don't believe that the cars that make these lists like I, okay, I like a Corvette. I think Corvette's kind of cool.
But I think I saw the Corvette E Ray on somebody's list is like one of the cars a year. And I don't even remember who, what magazine
or whoever it was, but they said, like the Corvette E Ray was on the list, and I was just like, Corvettes are cool, but the E Ray Corvette would not be on my list. Once again, I'm
not. I don't because I don't want to be shoved into electric vehicles.
Just like so somebody was telling me, okay, there is is it Hondai or somebody like that, and don't quote me on somebody's gonna correct me.
But they're gonna be like to Toyota and Hondi are gonna start making only hybrids.
That's it. That's all you're gonna be able to get them. You'll
have to have electric electric slash gasoline and that's it. Like by twenty twenty
five or twenty twenty six model, you won't be able to get it either electric or gas. You're gonna have to have a hybrid to be half electric
half cameras. Okayep So the Toyota cameras are going hybrid only and they're also
going all wheel drive. So what if I don't want it? What if
I don't want to opt in for an electric vehicle? I keep saying this,
You guys keep trying to shove it down our throats, But what if we don't want it? What if we don't want to have anything to do
with an electric vehicle and the camera being a car that I personally believe, Yeah, but you, but you also got a thing like they're getting backlash, you know from where there's sanctions, are understanding it. You know,
like they're shiving a lot. There's stuff over the question though that doesn't answer
question. What if as Americans, if we don't want it. You keep
trying to shove it down our throats, But what there's a lot of us that don't want it. I don't stand alone. A lot of us happen
to want to have nothing to do with it. We just want to keep
our gasoling vehicles and keep on going on. We do not want electric vehicles
or give us maybe a different option, but we don't want me if I'm wrong, but I feel like a lot of American brands are still even the gasoline line for now that way that's not is that is that American? That's
not American? Is it? It's made it's yeah, yes, his vehicle
and they now have American plants they now, yeah, but it's not American.
It's made here. I'm going there, right, So it's like,
I understand what you're going with, Like they're not really you know, they're not selling to they are to say. If I don't want it, why
does it have to be shoved down my throat? I don't want it.
There's tons of Americans, there's millions of Americans want nothing to do with electric vehicles. Yet you're making it. Camry is one of the number one cars,
that is truly one of the number one cars of the year, over and over and over again. So for those who like a camera, you're
gonna make us make a choice of not buying your product because you're making us going to electric platform. This doesn't seem fair and it's gonna happen, mark
my word. They're gonna shove us into electric vehicles rather we want them or
not. And it just doesn't make any sense to me. I don't know,
I just I do not understand this. I will never follow this I
just think we should have a choice. We should be able to have a
choice and choose what we want. And if you don't have that choice,
then what do you do? The guys over here just laughing can be there
think. I think if we don't have a choice, I think that it's
not right to just push us in. You yeah, losing his mind too.
I don't think you should off camera sometimes, these guys over here losing their mind. Now. I just don't think we should be pushed into hybrid
vehicles. I think we should at least have a decision. You know.
I think that everybody's just so cheap or so quick to go, all right, well, let's just make this one vehicle and let's just shove it.
Why not make a hybrid and a gas and give us both options that I'm better with that if you make, if you've made any of the cars, you make a hybrid, you make a gasoline. You let me choose.
Here's problem. You know what's gonna happen. What's happening right now? You
have lots and lots and lots full of electric cars that nobody wants. Have
you seen why hold you about these pictures? Have you seen these why can't
you give me the option to either pick? Do I want half gas tank
and half battery. They're gonna do that with the cameras, I know what
I'm talking about. Like, but they're also give me the option if I
don't want the battery, then just replace the battery with a tank, a guest tank. Why not give me that option? I don't know, you
guys explained it to me. I just think it's absolutely wrong that you force
me to have one of those. On that note, it's the hit of
our show. Again, I don't know. Mystifies me how we get to
the end so quickly. Hey guys, if you guys don't know, Coastal
