OBD1 is an old computer system in cars that tells you if something’s wrong. It was common before 1996 and only gives a few error messages.

Technical Definition

OBD1 (On‑Board Diagnostics 1) is the first generation of vehicle diagnostic systems, used mainly in cars from the early 1980s to mid‑1990s. It provides basic fault codes but has limited data and fewer connectors compared to later systems.
