stages
NASCAR can split a race into sections called stages. Drivers earn points at the end of each section, so teams have to plan when to push and when to save resources.
In NASCAR, “stages” split a race into multiple segments, with points awarded at the end of each stage. The idea is to create more frequent competition and strategy decisions rather than running the whole event as one continuous push.
