myself. I got up early, started monitoring some comments on cars and bids. It's end of auction

day. It's been an 11, 11 day auction. Long auction. They did 11 days because of Christmas.

They didn't want auctions ending on Christmas. So they gave me some days, a few other people,

some days too. I think that was a wise move. I appreciate it. There's obviously been a lot

of action. There's 234 comments, but dude, the strategies that I learned from Wab are paying

off because this motherfucker's got page views. This thing's got big numbers on it, eyeballs on it.

So I'm pretty confident we're going to do well. And concisely, what were his three tips

for people who didn't listen to that show? Like an auction page is content and you have to treat

it as such. And so I posted almost exclusively on this page for the last like week. Like I didn't

post much on Instagram. I didn't, I wasn't like, we didn't have a lot of videos or anything like,

oh shit, the board isn't done. Zach was rushing. Going live was more important than going live

with good audio. You feel me? Yeah. But we have audio in the chat. Tell me how it sounds because

one level says it looks good and one is bright red. Okay. So we got 14 minutes remaining.

We got $155,000 and I can't talk. I don't want to talk about the reserve because people could

be watching it bidding right now listening through iPad. No, you're good. We're good. Yeah. Okay.

But I've written down Zach and I talked about on the last show the unspoken NSX target price

prizes. So if the car gets to one of the benchmarks that's in this envelope,

which we'll learn afterwards, then we're going to get to do something to spend the money,

to spend, to spend a little bit of money, a little bit of money, right? Because like,

remember, Coontosh, right? Mercedes, Coontosh, Mercedes. Yeah. Those are, these are, there's,

but, but just saying, if we do well, we can have some other fun too.

Because someone could be watching and bidding while we're doing this. So I kind of don't want to talk

about milestones and like whether I've made profit like in real time. We can, I'm happy to talk about

the math of all of this car, very honestly, afterwards. But like in the meantime, it's like,

for the next 13 minutes, it's like, let's make some fucking money.

If I don't want to advertise. We need to earn the money before, but I will say this,

the number on the screen, which is 155, is the lowest number on the sheet. So we've got a third

place finish already. We've got, oh no, there's about 12 places on that. I did it like maybe like

every like 5,000 bucks. Oh, okay. I thought you went one, two, three. No, no, no. There's

opportunities to have some fun here. So I'm happy that like, we're in a good place now though,

where it's not like, if it were to sell at this at 155, like we're done, that's fine.

We're having a happy day. We're having a happy day at that. We're like, that's ownership of a car,

is what we're talking about. Oh, interesting update. I thought, because T.A., T.S.T. Patreon,

T.A., who asked questions once in a while, our friend, is who I bought this car off of.

And he told me in total good faith, as far as I know, that this had a comp tech exhaust on it.

Truth is, it's a science of speed exhaust, which is an equal quality. I looked it up,

it's like a $1,900 exhaust, and the car does come with a stock exhaust too. Someone in the chat,

So this car has two exhaust systems, and that's very rare. That's a special feature.

That's why it's an NA2. But if someone is in the chat or watching the stream,

But yeah, in the chat, someone said, oh, it's a science of speed exhaust. And some say that's

actually better than a comp tech exhaust. One guy says it sounds a little better than a comp tech

exhaust. And it's better to use this science of speed exhaust on the NA2s, whereas the comp tech,

maybe it was better on the NA1s, whatever. But it's not the brand I thought it was. There's no

markings on it, as it turns out. Someone had to send me a link to the website and was like,

that looks like it. Wow. So I'm not even 100% certain, but that's what we think it is.

Man, I want to see. Someone's got a... I got a couple fans email me and say that they're in the

game. Yeah, you need someone to come in. One fan drunk emailed me. This morning? No, no,

like a couple days ago, like two o'clock in the morning, and told me that they told me their

top number. Like, I'm in up to this, and I know this person was drunk. Please bid that.

So we haven't seen that commitment yet. I have not seen that level of follow through yet. I'm

in 300,000 dollars. This number was big. Please bid that.

Like, oh, that's fucking good. He woke up in the morning, he looked at that, he's like, oh, no.

It is a perfect example. Like this person commented, it's accurate. You did engine out

maintenance after you, after you bought the car? Well, I had to, because the car had only done,

like, 300 miles in the last, like, eight years. And the last engine out was 2014. So that's nine

years and you're supposed to do it, like, every six or seven. So it needed doing. It wasn't like,

you know, but like, I was like, I'd better, I'd like to drive this car and not think about this.

So we did it. Evasive did it. They're great. And there are, there's, there were debates earlier

in the chat that, that do you really need the, to be an engine out in, in, in period,

accurate dealers could do it without taking the engine out. And there's like a couple of shops

around the country that are like NSX specialists that can do it without taking the engine out.

Evasive says that it's just easier to do it by taking the, like, you can just,

if you're going to look at a car and see what's what, like, you just see more.

Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. It wasn't cheap. It was like, it was like 6,800 bucks.

Engine tangent. My wife Sarah showed me a video the other day of someone was fixing

an oil check valve on like a 2018 Mercedes, the four liter twin turbo V8 subframe out,

engine out, engine transmission apart. And it's like a tiny little valve inside. And she goes,

and I'm, and I'm just, I'm looking at with huge eyes and she goes, I go, do you know how expensive

this is to fix that little thing? And she goes $2,000. And I started laughing so hard. Like,

that's like 10 grand. Probably the whole car was apart. Yeah. I hope it wasn't not under warranty.

I don't know. It was just that it was at an tech center, like a Mercedes tech center.

And I drove it 3,000 miles.

So I've done $13,000 profit, you know, over three years,

which like anybody who owns any car should be pretty happy about that.

Now I got gassed up by the math.

The math was like a few months ago, one with 7,000 less miles sold for 210,

and one with 7,000 more miles did 156.

So halfway between is like 185.

Right.

So that's kind of where I thought that this math would end up.

You know, I wasn't like counting on it, but that would have been nice.

But, you know, all profit is okay, for sure.

That's a good day.

Unfortunately, it wasn't very exciting, was it?

I thought we'd get a lot more content out of this.

But that's pretty rad, because as you've said many times,

like you could have gone and bought a brand new insert fast car,

and for the most part lost money immediately over the first three years.

You depreciated it unless you bought a 911 ST at least, or something crazy.

Yeah, I mean, it's a good car.

It was a good bit in my collection.

It was a nice thing to experience.

And like, you know, I said to Spike and other people,

so like, why did I sell it?

Like, because this car to me is about two years of fun.

Like, that's kind of it.

Like, if you're a die-hard NSX fan, you know, it's a fabulous car.

This is a fabulous example.

Like, this is going to be well-bought actually for this guy.

I assume it's a guy, sorry, whoever it is.

This is going to be a well-bought car at this price,

because down the road, I think it could be worth more.

In worst case, you've got a great car that you could fly in LA

and just drive home to wherever home might be,

if that's what you want to do.

But, you know, I did think it would get a little more.

I wasn't counting on it, but it was a good ownership experience.

And for me, who gets to drive everything,

it's about two years of fun.

I mean, there's a lot I really didn't like about this car,

to be honest with you.

And now the auction's over, I can talk about it.

The steering ratio absolutely sucks horrible balls.

If you have a fucking Boxster as your other car,

a new Boxster Spider, boy is this steering garbage.

I get that it was great for 91 or whatever.

It's like a bus, right?

It's just, oh, you know.

The ratio is so bad.

It's especially if you're in either tight canyons

or driving in the city, the ratio stinks.

It doesn't sound all that good unless you're really on it.

And the brakes, the problem with going fast in it

is that the brakes are horrific.

They work fine.

The brakes are like, they're exactly, the fluid's good.

The pads, there's plenty of pads in them.

They just suck.

Like, they're just shit.

And there's extremely limited upgrades.

And so you can do them, but they're fucking expensive.

You know, and I didn't, because you can't change

the steering ratio, I was like,

why am I gonna put money into this

when I'm never gonna be able to fix the thing

that really bothers me?

But because the brakes were so bad,

you can't push the engine.

Like, I literally can't go to Angela's Crest

and push the car because I'll melt the brakes.

And like, well, now what are we doing?

So that's kind of why I didn't want it

to become a tuner car, and it could have.

And compared to the...

You could buy a big brake kit for $8,000.

Yeah, and whose kit is it?

This is from Bulletproof Automotive,

but it's Mono 6 brakes.

I don't know who makes them.

Yeah, I mean, that's expensive.

I mean, big brakes are expensive.

Like, no kidding.

you could upgrade the brakes.

But the Manx is more fun in the city by a lot.

Because this thing is like, when you're not going fast,

this car is like pretty normal.

I mean, it looks great.

The viewing position is great.

Like, people love it.

Thumbs up everywhere.

And then fucked off in his La Ferrari.

He was extremely badass.

But yeah, driving experience for me.

because the seating position is amazing.

The shifting action is some of the best I've ever experienced.

Seating position really depends on your height

and ratio of, like, your inseam and torso

because it's kind of weird in some ways.

If you fit, the visibility is awesome.

The visibility is fantastic, like most men engine cars.

It's a really cool thing.

It feels like it just moves through the world effortlessly.

It has a huge trunk and you can also take the top off

and it sits over the engine.

You don't have to choose between top down.

A bunch have a lot of miles because people just bought these to drive.

And a smaller number, a lot of decent number have sub 40,000 miles because they were just

kept nice and they were bought by collector-type people because they knew it was the last year

They were always kept nice, but so there's a decent number of them in this sort of range.

But to get to sub 10,000 mile cars, that's where you're getting over 200.

I saw a story this morning that Porsche is contemplating a sort of digitized paint color

that you could take a picture of something and then upload the photo to your Porsche app

and your car will change to that color.

Obviously, this is a long way away.

It's conceptualized and they filed a patent for it.

But like how funny would it be if they eliminated if it was if it was paid to sample anything?

Like that would either that would like either be the ultimate paint to sample

or if they released it widely and made it like a common thing,

it would like kill paint to sample because like anybody could just have it.

This feels like automotive NFT because they would have to gate keep,

you know, the special silvers and the other like the really expensive paint to sample colors that

way loot box.

Yeah, you can't just go take a picture and upload.

They go, I'm sorry, you didn't pay $15,000 for that digital file.

If you want to unlock, you know, mist to chrome Porsche color, you're going to have to pay.

But it seems like every couple of years, a company rolls out the thing of like

the whole all the body panels are LED screens, right?

And it can show it can show the thing behind it and camouflage it.

And I think early days, it was just like huge flat screens bolted to a car.

So the profile of the car looked like a billboard.

And now they're kind of, you know, they have LEDs that they can bend around and stuff.

But like, I don't think anybody really wants to sell a car that does that.

I mean, imagine what a small crash would cost.

like the phones that fold the phones.

I don't know if they are just, I mean, it either and I haven't bid on a car on cars and bids.

So I don't know how it looks if you're just a bidder and not the seller, right?

I only know what it looks like as a seller to use that platform.

So as a bidder, I don't know if it alerts you that the reserve is off.

I don't know if the thing just like changes colors or what, but I didn't do anything.

The reserve was 155 and I didn't tell anybody the reserve was 155.

And obviously, the bidding started to the day at 155.

That didn't kill the bidding.

The bidding continued on from there.

I mean, maybe it didn't go quite as high as I thought, but it didn't stall certainly.

It makes sense to me that if you're bidding on a car and then you see reserve is off,

I think for me as a buyer, it would tell me that this person doesn't think it's going to go very

high. They think the momentum is slowing and that's probably going to cool everybody off.

You go, oh, so this seller wants as much as they can get right now.

They're worried it's not going to go above that magic mark they'd set.

And so I would cool my bids off because I don't want to overpay for something they're willing

to let go. If they set the reserve at 140 and the bidding's at 115 and they go reserve is off,

I go, oh, so this person is just trying to get anything they can because they're worried it's

going to fail. Yeah, I think so too. And I don't talk about when the reserve is off.

And I don't think bring a trailer alerts anybody that the reserve is off.

It either meets or doesn't meet reserve. If you list a car with no reserve,

then it goes in the headline, whereas it doesn't if you take the reserve off early

or anything like that. So I've learned to like, if I'm going to have a reserve,

don't take it off early. Just let it be and whatever.

VTEC just kicked in, bruv VT. I've previously mentioned that the NC1 NSX is a good value.

That's the 2017 car. Now that I've had a NSX experience, do you think everything you disliked

about yours is solved with the NC1? And do you see yourself owning one in the future?

So two things to look at. One is objectively, sure. I didn't like the steering in mine.

And 12 years later, the end, the current one has sharp steering. I didn't like the brakes

in mine and the current one has like good brakes. So like objectively, sure they solved it, but like

those are just not the same car. Yeah, they're totally different. I mean, unless you're like,

we have a client here at WCCS shout out to him, if he's listening, that has an old NSX and a

current NSX, like that is an NSX enthusiast. Like they he likes the both the cars and he likes the

brand and he likes having both. And God bless him. I don't see those as being the same product.

Like if you like them both good for you, but like that just because you like one,

it's not they're not the same thing. If I wanted what the

if I wanted a quote, fixed version of the NSX, I'd buy an Amira right fucking now.

Like seriously, that's like, that's that. But bet the straight line like it, it

it kind of like diverges a little bit from NSX to to Boxster and to Amira.

Mercedes, they always make the GLB. They like they they already make little versions of the

big cars. They've already thinks this is directly in brand with what Mercedes has done for the last

like five years come out with a big car and then come out with a littler version of that car

and then an even littler version of that. Like the G wagon is not that big. I think when you

especially when you get in it, yeah, but it has like a wide stance. It seems like a car with

large presence. But when you actually drive the thing, it's not very big. No, there's not a lot

of front seat room and there's not a lot of rear seat room. There's not a lot of trunk space. Yeah.

I don't know if it's just the track has gotten wider around the body. So this thing is gonna be

like a Jimny. You know, what size does it seem a Jimny sized like you can't it's like a G wagon

isn't even really a five passenger. No, like it's like a it's almost like a two plus two in some

ways. If you are taller than five, seven, you know, in the back seat, it's not great. Unless it's

got I kind of like how it looks like. I think it looks pretty neat. It looks kind of like a Jimny.

Like they'll probably sell a ton of yeah, they will sell a gasoline of these things because

it's a less expensive G wagon. But perfect. What's it gonna be? This is might start at five grand

to 85 grand. God, that's a lot of money for a tiny thing. But like I drove the

CLA 35 and that was like 55 grand. So I guess I get it.

I mean, but this is exactly what Mercedes does and they've been doing it. BMW I8D nuts.

How do we record exhaust audio? We do it the cheap way. The cheap way is to buy a foamy

sound cover for your like action camera and almost every action camera, somebody will make

a foamy sound cover for that. The even cheaper way is to put gaffer tape over the sound holes

on your camera and then get a sock and make one yourself and cut a hole in it. Like you can,

you do not need to spend real money to do this. People used to glue like, I mean,

you buy the pieces of foam and you could glue it over the mic hole on a GoPro with super glue.

That was one way people used to do it. I mean, I don't know, Fad, you worked in

I then like get off or not get a production. But no, we do remember we did the we did a

shore SM 58 back in the day on a suction cup with an XLR cable to to the to the audio recorder,

which would also have my audio going into it. So I'd have matched audio for my,

for my, some of the best audio we ever got, probably, but that was an expensive microphone.

Well, then we move to labs, tape to license plates, and you kind of aim it at the thing

because it basically what you're trying to do is eliminate wind noise while still capturing

the exhaust audio. And it's challenging as speed as speeds go up, the wind kind of takes over.

Yeah, tough. I like I like the mic being a foot

from the exhaust tip and then a foot offset to the side, either side, you don't want it right

behind the exhaust. But you want it, like Zach said, blocked by the wind a bit. And then like the

more like foam you can put on there is good. And beyond like 80 miles an hour, it doesn't

actually work anymore, no matter what you do. Yeah, yeah. Seven days of the week, seven different

400 with a with a full 812 super fast engine and a six speed manual gearbox. And then the interior,

the interior, you know, the interior reminds me of like, it kind of reminds me of like a little bit

ring brother Z. Yeah. So does the exterior, honestly, they both they both look a little ring

brother Z. Speaking of which, speaking of sidebar ring brothers, did you hear about this thing with

Aston? Yeah, they've like cease and desisted ring brothers. Yeah, which I think is which is really

frustrating and unfair. What's silly. Yeah, it's very silly. They designed the car themselves.

Like it's ring brothers did. Yeah. But like it's one, it's one custom car. It's not like,

as far as I know, it's not like a run of cars. It's like they built a car for a guy. Yeah. Like,

that's what everybody does. I'll find a picture of that car. We'll talk about that crazy. But

back to that. So click on the full interior. It does not. There's not clickable. Terrible. Oh,

no. That's so lame. But it has, you know, it's got a few different JDM ish vibes. It's got a few

different sort of throwback to various eras of different Ferraris. But it is a 12 super fast

engine in a fucking, you know, in a 400, which is pretty nuts. I mean, objectively nuts. Yeah. So

that you know, there's a tablet on there to control stuff. But oh, these gauge screen. Yeah, that's

that's a I mean, I don't know how you do that's huge for people listening. It's got like a whole

iPad. Yeah. But I mean, a big one, like whatever an iPad, if there's an iPad max, I'm not up on the

iPads, but like this gauge cluster is massive. Yeah, it's big screen. And then the one in the

center is big too. Oh, you know why? Because the probably because the 812 computer is meant to

transmit, you know, they don't have any gauges that cars got no gauges. So you I don't think it has

some kind of manual output. You may not have a choice. Right. It's probably a wild thing to get

this car to run with a manual gearbox, by the way. But it uses like a 348 steering wheel,

which I do think works. Yeah. Look at the door handle of the in the inner here, the armrest,

that is like a that's like a flame cut koa or walnut or something. I think the door card looks

awesome. The door card looks crazy. The center console looks clean. You got the clean gated

shifter, these like, you know, aluminum, neural knobs, it's pretty simple. The round air vents

look nice. I just I don't think there's much way around using a tablet screen for that with this

car. Yeah, I think you're right. People look in the exterior and then on the exterior, it's got

this big flip tail on the trunk, which I don't personally love, but I don't hate either. I think

it's flipped up and then it's got, you know, some bigger five spoke wheels that look Ferrari,

you know, modernish interpretations of the old. Not I think I'm gonna get is it Kempagnolo or

Kempagnolo wide fender flares, but not too wide. The flares are great. And then of course,

Jewish racing gold adjacent on top black on bottom, which I think was purely correct for that car.

Yeah, it did a lot of two tone. I think this car, I mean, I know when you're trying to show off,

you don't probably want to do that color, but this car and all black would be amazing.

All black, no flip tail. This car would be my fucking murderous rampage jam. But the engine

integration looks great. And the engine is behind the front axle barely. That's impressive.

That is wild. And you know, you could tell by looking at it that it's not an original engine,

but one of the things that Steve does really well is he makes engine swaps look like they

should have been there. Yes. That turbo kit on that 348, if you doubt it looked like it Ferrari

would have done it. The milling and all the stuff that was perfect. The crinkle was perfect. And

like this air box pretty much looks like Ferrari would have done it. I mean, they probably would

have used that like laundry ducting instead of this. At the time, they definitely would have.

Yeah. And they wouldn't have used carbon for the intake cover, but it looks like it would have been

that shape. Yeah, you know, that's the good point. The shape is well matched with the design of the

car. Yeah, it looks like it looks like it would have looked. I mean, if you look at what the

engine of a 400 I looks like, I mean, it broadly looks just like that. Yeah, which is a thing that

this guy does really well. Yeah. It seems like a nasty motherfucker. I mean, that's that's fucking

700 horsepower. Yeah, that's really aggressive. Oh, here you can see the body. Yeah, the way they

cut the fenders. And then they made these little vents down here for heat extraction. Oh, here's

another one. Yeah. So part of the process. That's cool. Man, I like the original color too.

That like teal. That's a good color. I like that teal a lot. That's good.

What a crazy project. But you know, the big story on the Internet is that it costs 1.8 million

dollars to build. Of course it does. Of course it does. You have to buy a whole 812 and take it

apart and reengineer it to work in a different vehicle that's smaller, probably a lot smaller.

Of course it does. You think, where do people think all this shit comes from? This dude,

this dude, Steve, I should get my phone and see how many years ago Steve texted me about this car.

Really? I must have to go back four years in my text message for one from him being like,

because he's like, oh, he doesn't text very well. Hey, man, you got to see this crazy,

you know, 412 and I was like, bro, call me when it's done. Let's go.

But and I hadn't heard from him in a while. There he is. Yeah. Dude's out of his mind.

So yeah, of course it costs one point and I bet you his margins weren't even that good.

He, this isn't a profit motivated guy. This is a true believer Maxwell is.

And this is a 2 plus 2, right? Yeah, let's go back Steve. So it's crazy is that the Ferrari 400 is

189 inches long, which is six inches longer than a Ferrari 812. But the 812 has no backseat.

It's just engine. It's also has the engine behind the products. Yeah. So it's really intruding on

the I don't know if you're sad one of these, but they're not that roomy for how big of a car they

are. But I do love them in their sort of in a unique way. But of course it costs that much.

You had to buy a 400. You had to buy an 812. You had to spend God knows how long making it work

together. And you had to spend God knows how much making it look good. I'm making it you to make

an entire interior. What do you think those those are fucking eight? Well, I guess they came out of

the car. Those are the 812 seats. So I guess they took them out of the car they bought, right? So,

but you had to you had to pretty much make the entire rest of that interior. God, I bet that

would cost a fortune. That's like what like when my dad goes to fucking Turkey to choose his own

wood for these shotguns, you know, because the wood is only from seven trees and you know,

the roots have to be 35 feet deep and whatever. That's like what that would is.

That's wild. Yeah. And that's that is a lot of money. The only my and my only my only the only

place on the interior that I would say like, I think I could do better is maybe I wouldn't

have done the black steering column. Like it's hard to do that tan with the black, but you don't

I might have just sucked it up and got a full tan steering wheel. Hmm. Like the black on the

steering wheel and the steering column are are jarring to me when the rest of the car is pretty

much. There are a little bit, especially there's bits of black. I mean, the seat bottoms here.

Like it's a it's a weird junction here between the tan and the black.

Yeah. But I mean, whatever, like it's it's it's not my project. You spend 1.8 million fucking

whatever color you feel like it, but sick that that works, right? It's pretty cool. Probably sounds

insane. Cars we driven. Well, we've driven two of his cars that were dynamically very, very fun.

They worked and they handled. I mean, they handled well, like they drove pretty correctly

as correctly as they could, especially with the DeLorean. I definitely should have bought that

Ferrari when I could have. Remember, I could have had that thing for like $110,000. That would

have been that would have been crazy. Yeah. I wonder where it is now. I'll give you 110 for it today.

That thing was fucking sweet twin turbo 348 car was great. Someone made a video with it a couple

years ago. Uh huh. So, um, oh, they pulled the engine out. Oh, they did. Maxwell design did.

They might still have it. Major service. What do you mean? Maxwell's got it? Well,

are they upgrading their Atsuka Maxwell design? Yeah. Yeah. So in three or two years ago,

they took the engine out. Oh, maybe they were just doing a service. Yeah, maybe you should hit them up.

Car was awesome. That was fun. Look, you just sold the car, man. Thing was so cool. You should

buy it. There's nothing about that yellow car that wasn't exciting. I'm disappointed that car

wasn't on this list somewhere. No level. She said buy a twin turbo 348. We're going to have a steak

dinner. That's what we're going to do. Yeah. Um, I'll go back to questions. That's disappointing,

but that car rules mid in Ohio. Are there any EV SUVs that are fun enough to justify skipping the

two car solution? Boring commute with kids, but care about driving? I mean, do the SUVs. I'm driving

the Lucid Gravity in like two and a half weeks. Maybe that. If you get a high spec McConn EV,

maybe that it's not an SUV, but certainly a Tycon GTS Cross Turismo.

But the Machi Rally. That's, I mean, that is a really good car, but it just depends. It depends

on what you get out of cars. You know, if you're looking, if you get excited by exhaust sound and

light and light weight, you're not going to get that. But I think if you just like acceleration,

and we know plenty of people that have ICE cars that are just all about straight line speed,

then yeah, an EV can totally be your two car solution. Yeah. McConn EV handles well,

goes fast. You know, it'll give you those things.

Okay. Coscom tuning update on the health vision of the channel. I mean, look,

TST is not going to disappear overnight. The, certainly not the podcast, which is doing just fine.

You know, it's very, very tough making videos. There is still some value in making some kind of

video content. But as we can, we've shown like the stuff that does well, the three videos that

did the best in 2025 are exactly the three videos that Kevin, the analyst said, followed the formula

of what would do well in 2025. And all three were ones that I didn't really want to make.

The number one was shitting on the Cybertruck, which look, it turns out that all my takes on the

Cybertruck have aged pretty well. But at the time we made that, which was right when this thing came

out, you know, it's not that it was like risky, but I just, it seemed like silly to make a whole

video shitting on the Cybertruck. But like we did, and it was the most viewed video of the year.

And I didn't, I didn't enjoy it. Even though we made money, I didn't enjoy it.

And number two was the Zinger and a like that's an unbelievable car and like, you know,

cool for them and cool for us that we got to have a go. But we, it was an, it was an exclusive.

We were the first drive and I had to MC gig for free to get it. And I put in, I put a title I

really didn't want to put on that video, which was that the Zinger 21 C is the only hypercar

worth this much money, which isn't something I totally disagree with in, in terms of being,

you know, looking at the field because it's just so different. And for that much money,

like I want fucking way off the deep end. And it does that. But I didn't like having to use that

title to get that much kind of attention. And that was what he said. You have to put the three

things Kevin said were shit on something popular. Okay. Talk about money. And or, and or stir up

drama, meaning like react to other YouTubers doing things. Like those are the three. So I'm not,

we're not going to react to other YouTubers doing things, but the other two. And then the

third one was the tycon buying it specifically buying it and driving it home, which I'm glad the

video did hundreds of thousands of views, but it, I had to buy a car. I had to buy a car,

a depreciating car and then fly to a different state on New Year's Eve by myself to then spend

four days driving it back. Like you think that made money? Like absolutely fucking zero. So

those are the top three performing videos of our year. One I didn't want to make, one I titled

something I didn't want to title. And the other one I had to spend $70,000 on a car. And then,

and then the all seven of the other top 10 were new Porsche sports car reviews.

Wow. All seven of the other top 10. So like that's where we're at.

And we only had five video, five, six videos this year, over a hundred thousand views. Yeah.

Like that's like bad news. And I mean, I'll, you know, maybe I'll take responsibility for not

evolving or not making as many videos, but like fact is there's like a lot less cars to drive.

There's a lot more like boring crossovers. There's, there's boring EVs. There's trucks and SUVs.

There's like not a lot of enthusiast cars to drive. We try to drive all the ones we can. Like

there's just not that many. And like there's a backlash against very expensive cars. So like

when, if there's a new Ferrari or new Lamborghini or new Aston Martin, like everyone's just like,

who the fucking afford that? Why do I even care? There nobody cares about fast EVs really anymore.

They're not, those videos don't do well. You know, people care about stuff they might want to buy.

And so, I mean, even though Porsches are expensive, people are still enthusiastic about them. And like,

there's just not that much like affordable stuff. Even when we did affordable, like the,

the GR Corollas and the, and like those aren't like new people are like interesting. Yeah,

that one didn't do very well. I saw a lot of work into it. Yeah. You know, that was hotel rooms and

lots of transit and lots of food and editing and all kinds of stuff. And even we got the

racetrack for almost free. Yeah, still couldn't make money. Yeah.

You know, on the other hand, this, this costs us almost nothing. I mean, you and I cost our time.

I mean, we, you know, and so, so we're privileged to get to do it. We're privileged that people

want to advertise on it. It's not algorithmic. So if you don't listen to this week's episode,

and it'll still be in your feed now next week, you know, with YouTube, if someone doesn't watch

your video or for a week or two, like you're gone. That's it. You don't exist anymore. Yeah,

there's no Apple iTunes version of that. So, you know, just, and like honestly, like with AI

being all about everything that like creating content to put into that system, like

it feels like gross. Like if you're being someone who's like trying to like be authentic and be a

human being and it's like, everyone's just trying to like make money by shoveling AI

slop into the world and it makes the internet like such a worse place. It's just like, it doesn't

inspire your confidence that like the people in charge of all this are trying to actually make the

world good. I get so bummed when friends of ours send me AI videos that are bad AI videos. Like

there's very creative ones that I go, okay, at least that was done well. But there's ones where

it's like, this is lazy and obviously AI and it's like the jokes aren't great. Don't share that.

Don't support this. Sure. So this is lazy and it's bad. It's lazy and bad and it uses a lot of

resources. I never heard back from that Angeles death highway guy about, you know, I didn't see

any more content from them. They put out a new thing today. Did they? They put out a Porsche

air called Porsche one, I think today or yesterday. And I imagine it is AI. Oh yeah. No, it's the same

style. I tried. I tried. I don't know. I don't know if they found if they found an artist and got

a price that was so horrifying that he didn't want to come back or I don't know if they said,

you know, forget it, but I think it's probably really expensive. It just depends on the the

amount of detail you want, you know, in a in an animated video. Yeah. Like art like Archer

was one of my is one of my favorite animated shows ever. What was brilliant about that is they

could use kind of a couple of different like forms and they could just do a bunch of scenes.

That's why there's so many talking scenes in that there's not much action. And then when they do the

car scenes, the car scenes are done really well. And the physics, if you watch the cars slide and

stuff, it's really well done. But that's where so much of their money goes. And when they're when

away from like bullets, it's just like the head is there and the arms just kind of do this.

But it's just about the conversation. Sure. Because it's just cheaper.

used market. What's a better EV commuter experience? I don't like any of the EQ is that much. The i4

is like fine. It's fine. BMW's EVs. I've not had. I've had very average experiences with. Well,

which was the one you drove in the canyons, though, for that test? Was that the i4 m or

something? i4 m. Yeah, fast one. You like that one or no? It was okay. That was the i4 m50. It was

okay. The the brakes didn't hold up and it only made full power for about a lap and a half of the

track. Like it for an m it was pretty substandard. I would rather drive the the BMW just for commuting.

I'd rather a fucking Mach-E than either of them. That's true. But like the EQ we we talked about

the brake pedal problem is terrible. And I just think the whole like waterfall dash is way too

much. I wouldn't I really wouldn't want that. Can I say neither? Like I would just get a Mach-E.

Honestly, I can't imagine a good a decent Mach-E is going to be that much more expensive than

either an EQ or an i4. But it's a much better car than both.

The slate maybe I mean, Ford says that people are gravitating toward the Maverick and the Ranger

more and the F-150 less like that's good. I see a lot of Mavericks around not that my eyes are data,

but certainly they are they are moving Mavericks. They sold 120,000 of them in 2025 Mavericks.

Yeah, they sold 131,000 in 2024 and that was a 40% increase from what they

sold the year before that. So people are buying a lot of them. I think how do we

define mini truck? Are we talking about just like smaller than a Maverick,

you know, drifting into K size or just the trend of like small street trucks?

Yeah, I mean, I don't think we're getting in America K trucks or anything like that. I mean,

obviously like new K trucks, but I do think that people are realizing finally that the

half ton trucks are both too big and too expensive. Yeah. If you look at a fucking like 1997 F-150,

it's like the size of a Ranger today and bed height is important for people. You know,

not everybody wants a, you know, a four and a half foot or whatever bed height, you know,

they want a little lower to load it into. I would, I've actually like, I contemplated a Maverick.

The other night I looked at a Maverick. I thought about did I, like if we were going to,

you know, we're maybe trying to work on this trailer sponsorship for the ice race. And I thought,

like if I was maybe going to get, if the Maverick could tow enough to be worthwhile, if it would

then be a thing that we could use, you know, for the shop once in a while. I don't think quite yet,
