Hey, I just got back from driving two kind of cool cars.

Oh, like literally, literally just got back. Oh, sweet.

I was driving a I drove a seventy four nine eleven s.

Oh, followed by back to back with a seventy nine eleven T.

Oh, I think so. Yeah. And I took them up up and up into our hills.

Yeah. So, you know, got a little bit of a rip in.

Yeah, it's like so MFI car versus a carb car. I think the other one's a carb car. I believe

is it a stock T? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, it's stock engine, but like it has nine thirty breaks

like some big, big, big breaks. It has aluminum like all the aluminum suspension components from

like a G body like the and then it has, you know, sway bars and all the stuff, fresh bushings,

everything. Well, what an interesting compare. Yeah. And that one's running CN thirty six is

and then the, the S is running reddestines. But yeah, it was cool. It was like fun, like

back to back in those things. And then one has a nine oh one, one has a nine fifteen, which means

one of a date, a dog leg five speed and one has a traditional five speed. But yeah, it was cool

back and back to backing those two things. The S is obviously like

sounds awesome with that MFI. And then it's like very peaky power band. So it makes power like

above five grand and it doesn't have much below that. And then the T is just kind of like a little,

you know, has decent torque and power, but it just doesn't have that ultimate power that the S has.

And then it's just like handling wise, they're both like properly set up. So they're both really

good. But it's a, the, the T with the, or sorry, the, yeah, the T with like all the aluminum stuff

and the nine thirty breaks definitely has like a lightness to it where it feels like it doesn't

have a, like you can feel the lack of weight down low, like in the, you know, in the wheels,

basically, and it has those group four aluminum steelies, which are pretty light.

But yeah, it was a fun little back to back. Those cars are pretty good, dude. Like pretty

yeah. I mean, they're very capable, right? They just drive, they drive well.

Yep. That's why they're the most one of the most popular rally cars out there. Yeah,

you can see why I really, I really wanted to, I didn't have my car. I had the Polestar,

but I really wanted to drive my car right after that to like back to back to back them.

Dude, what is that? Like a 500 pound weight difference or something? Dude, probably more

than that. I think those things weigh like in the twenty threes. Yeah, you're probably right.

Yeah. Yeah. In my ways, it is like 500 pounds because they're probably 23 and change and mine's

like 80, 28 and change. Yeah. And that's stock for stock. And then this other, it sounds like the

T is much lighter, like way less unsprung weight. Probably lighter. Yeah. Yeah. It's just, yeah,

you can feel how the way that that translates is really just like less movements, right? Like

in everything is more immediate. So like with a suspended, when you go over a bump, it's not

like it has to like dampen and process that. It's just like, it just dampens and you're

back to where you need to be. Exactly. And that's the big difference. Like that car felt like it

was just like floating on the road. And the other car, actually even the, the, the ass I drove,

which is probably close in weight. It felt more like it was like pounding the pavement a little

more, like more like my Carrera feels. But yeah, that T with all that, you know, you're right,

the unsprung weight. Yeah. It's, it's a very cool feeling, especially when you can do that back to

back like that. And it's really obvious. Like, yeah, it's very noticeable in the steering,

especially too, as you go over bumps, right? Like how much more like oscillations and movements

there are. But yeah. And then also translates, obviously, to better braking and all that

shit. But yeah, I mean, S is though, yeah, dude, that little small displacement, short stroke,

high revving motor is one of my favorite sounds. I mean, like if, if I was wealthy, like in,

like I was definitely as a retirement thing, I would love to do that two liter cup that they

do in Europe. Like that is so awesome. Like that's like the, like, and then talk about like also

like just developing that skill, right? To like handle that car at the limit. Like cause they're,

like they are, I mean, they're drivable, but you know, but yeah, it's like, they, they, they,

they have a lot of slip angle, right? They're at that. Yeah. And you're, you're talking about

like a early S, which is like early S. Yeah. Yeah. Which is a short wheelbase, like, you know,

like two liter, like that seems like such a, like a spicy, spicy little car. Yeah. I still,

I mean, yeah, I don't know if I've driven a stock S. I've never, I've never driven

early S. So like a two liter car or anything. Yeah. Not a short wheelbase. No, I haven't either.

That's awesome though, dude. I'm going to look for, look for the picks. Yeah, dude. I took

Amelia Island, Florida. That is on March 7th. Actually still have some show car spaces available.

It's a free show to attend as a spectator. So you can come to Radwood for free if you want to

the concor. You got a pony up for a ticket. Wait, so how, yeah, how does that work? Like,

so people, cause I know that, that day is like $150. Well, there's, so we're across the street

from the concor at a different part of the golf course. If you want to go across to the concor,

there's a gate and tickets required, but to come walk through Radwood and on your way into the

concor is totally free. So it's fun posts about that or something. Cause I don't think a lot of

people know that. Yeah, it's been a really well attended event. Last year, previously we were on

a separate day from the concor. And then last year, there was some hazardous weather and they

shifted the concor to Saturday with Radwood and it was a great success. So we are going to do that

again. And yeah, we're actively planning for that. And then the heritage invitational at

Charlotte Motor Speedway, April 11th. That's also a concor show. We're in the concor. It's on the

racetrack. So we'll be in the same event. And then everything else will be coming out very soon.

We're just buttoning up some dates and times and plans. And then we'll have a full schedule

announcement here. Gosh, like I would love that to happen this week, but probably soon. So stay

wouldn't work on the rally anyways because you got to go full like touring car style

like the the Tony Stewart. You have Jeff Gordon car, like pretty good looking. Actually, those

are pretty cool dude. Yeah, I think that's what I'd go with. Those look round. It's like very days

of thunder. It'd be a lot of fun ripping around on that and make a lot of noise and be good for

photos and get that check. And since you're and since you're high class, you would get the Pontiac

version, right? That's right. Buick gift is Buick make one oldsmobile. Maybe try to do the

Ford Thunderbird. Looks dope. Fucking Impala SS guy over here. I thought about that too,

but that's a big four door Caprice based thing. Like you're going to do it all raced out dog.

the guy that you mentioned, Blaine fab, he builds these cars and they're super competitive here

regionally. I mean, they, for track purpose and track use, I know they can definitely,

just like Lane says, I know Corvettes are fast. I know Camaro SS is are fast. That's right. That's

right. SV expert, SV X pert says, what's your thoughts on WRC coming to America? Would any of

you go watch it if it did? So for those that don't know, they are doing like a kind of a trial run

in Tennessee and Kentucky. That is not full WRC. It's more of a support class

to see if they can actually make it happen. And if it would work here, as far as like routes and

stages and all sorts of things. Well, yeah, but also like, what, what do they consider a success?

Right? Is it because, I mean, out there, like, are you really going to attract the and engage

the audience that you want? Or is it because it's mostly broadcast? It doesn't matter.

It's, well, I think it's like, if you build it, they will come because that's a region.

I will, I will definitely strongly consider it. I don't want to, I hope it would be closer to

California, but they've done rally up in, you know, the Pacific Northwest, not WRC. It's been a

long time since WRC has been here. I think I read like 40 years or something. But there are routes

in places that can support this and other parts of the world. I think though that Tennessee,

especially you draw from so many metros that are like an hour or two away,

that you could easily get enough people out there to support an event like that. In fact,

there's not really great spectating to start with. So you're, you're not looking for a stadium full

of people. It's like you're trying to get the hardcore folks that are willing to travel and

go and do that. So Tennessee is a pretty, that's actually a decent choice. I'm going to say,

yes, I would strongly consider going. I think it'd be really fun.

Cool. I would say no to either of those locations. Maybe, maybe, maybe Kentucky,

because there's like a bourbon trail situation. Oh, that's my boy. You had been rugged. Yeah,

but I'm not allowed at either of those places. I'm pretty sure. So I'm out. But if it was in

Colorado or if it was in Utah or Colorado, Colorado, Colorado, what if in Tennessee we put

of like a coffee, little coffee spot with like flat bill hats and you could like,

no, I thought, I thought, I thought you're going to say if I go white face and then they would

allow me, no, no, no, I'm just saying, like if we did like, you know, some succulents and like

a cactus and then like some coffee and you could be like, like more at home, we're getting there,

we're getting there. And so, and so here's that. This is where this is actually super crucial,

I think, and maybe this is where WRC. If you're listening, you might need our assistance.

You need to have sort of like that fan fest, like that sort of like experiential piece that

people get up close and personal to the cars, meet the people, like have like an experience.

The food piece is important, but also just whatever else. Because I mean, otherwise,

like you see these cars fly by, you have to be a super hardcore like enthusiast to like appreciate

that. And like you want to make it, you know, you want to enjoy, you want to, sorry, you want to

experience that, but you also have to have some engagement with the brand and like WRC as a whole

and the personalities. I mean, they'll do that. Like we know, like Chattanooga has a,

has a concor and a whole motor sport festival thing they try to do down in Chattanooga. And it's

actually pretty popular and they're willing to build out. Yeah, I know. And there, yeah,

there's a tremendous amount of interest in pushing that, you know, the car culture there for sure.

And I know that there's also like just from, you know, several people that I know personally that

were in that region too, there's like the whole cars and coffee seeds massive there. It's like

there's definitely a lot of car culture, but I feel like, yeah, I would want, I don't know.

Just being honest, I don't necessarily think I would go to either of those, like especially like

it being kind of like a bit of a, what do you call it, a litmus test for them? Like I would

definitely consider going to a full scale event with like actual where there's an experiential

component and you have the actual race. This is what we're talking about. We're saying this year

it's a trial. If it comes back in 2027, the BRC is there. It's at, it's in Kentucky or Tennessee.

Are you going? Maybe if I'm allowed there. He's out. Yeah. Unless, unless like you said, like,

they make it a full like, they will. Of course they will. They will make it like a whole weekend

of things. Absolutely. They will just, you think so? Yeah. It's a long weekend. It's like a four

days or whatever of like, and you think they do like a whole build out and like a whole. Yes,

they do. So they also do rad stages in downtown areas that they'll rip around like a street course

as a nighttime thing. And it's like flashing lights and people having bonfires in the hills.

question mark. I actually do have that. I have a, well, it's kind of dwindled down. It used to be

all Radwood era from, you know, amp to speakers. Now it's just the speakers remaining. Everything

else has been sold off or fell apart. So I've got ADS, really good ADS speakers that I love,

but all the rest of the component, except for the, the CD player is still period correct,

but everything else has. What can I think of it? Now it's not Akamichi. It's something.

It's not Macintosh. No, no. But now I don't ever listen to CDs. It just sits there.

Iowa. No, not Iowa. I wish it was a Macintosh. That'd be nice. But yeah,

Radwood era home audio is a big thumbs up from me. If you can pull it off.

Looks cool. Sounds great. Sometimes you have to rebuild them. Pretty sweet. Yeah, pretty sweet.

I don't own any home audio, except for one of those Bluetooth speakers that we play at our house

And then I got a bunny whaler reggae record that I used to listen to a long time ago,

and it's not available like digitally. I couldn't find it on any of the streams. So

for whatever reason, it's not out there and found it from some lady in Iowa or something.

It's pretty nice. It's pretty nice to get music, music in the mail. That's fire, dude. That's

straight fire. Straight fire, bro. And then I had some records that I was kind of thinning the

collection. I had some duplicates and stuff. And I went down to this record store in downtown

Santa Cruz, this new one lane, you know, the little one of the corner next to the big ol'

tree. Yeah. It's kind of cool, right? Just like, just picked them apart. Just like,

this is the worst shit. Like we could, you could donate these if you want, but

we're really not interested. Damn, dude. All right. I see how it is. I don't know.

Were they just like scratched or what was? No, no. They were saying that they're just

too common. It was like a Billy Joel record, a Steely Dan, that kind of stuff. I had a

Bob Marley, but Rolling Stones can go fuck themselves. And then just kidding.

Lane, any audio in your house? You listen to music? I don't have enough. I would love to have

the act of putting a record on is very neat. I think it's a cool thing. Also, the warm tones.

I have like a good little Bluetooth banging Olson speaker here in my garage.

That's like really nice and sounds good, but it's like, you know, it doesn't have any

of those analog feels. And then upstairs, we just have a stupid like Amazon thing,

you know, that you ask it to play music, you know? Yeah. Just banging.

I would love to have that though. Like a full set up. I think though,

it's nice. I think I'll be very nice dude to just like in the evening, just put it on and

like stick to one record. I love the idea of that. And I would love to do that. Yeah. We,

especially during COVID and it's kind of carried on here and there, but a record during dinner,

pick one out, put it on. We do that. Yeah. We put music on. Yeah. It's fun.

listening, the old speakers out of my tundra, which are 25 years old paper speakers on eBay,

my car. I gave it away to a homie in town. So a speed shop in town. They're great. They're,

they're a detailer slash, you know, they do PPF and vinyl wraps and stuff like that and kind of

went off little like aesthetic upgrades. Good dude. And he is really connected in the E 30

scene here. And I asked him, Hey, do you know if anyone might want this? And he's like, Oh,

let me see. And I, how much do you want? I said to, I said two 12 packs of negative. Oh,

without a weird story like this that I would probably keep looking. That's my thought especially

Like what's going to guarantee the next motor doesn't blow or whatever happened to it?

And then what is the it's like a new motor? What does that even mean with a Range Rover?

It's like a junkyard engine. Yeah. And everything's been taken apart unclipped.

no, I mean, even with like great records dealership, you know, all that stuff.

Unless it was a car that you can't find otherwise, I don't think so personally.

So you would rather have a car with all maintenance records in the original engine at 90,000 miles

than a car with a new motor that was taken apart and put back together? Yes, I would as well.

And like, is this what does this mean? Is that they buy a brand new engine from

it says Range Rover brand new motor, but you're right. That that can be very deceptive. It's

like, is it a short block? They like ran out of oil and it blew, you know, it destroyed the

cylinders, but they use the heads. I don't know. Like no, it's not a lot of times when I've noticed

when people say new motor, it just means they did have like a they did a head gasket. I mean,

that's the worst. And those people will say new motor and I'm like, you know, I mean, right.

Or like full restoration and had a paint job. Yeah, exactly. A shitty one at that. Exactly.

Yeah, I don't know. I'm just trying to think. I mean, I definitely am taking what you said

into consideration regarding like just stuff not always going back together, right? You know,

like that is a thing. I don't know what the standards are at a Ranger over dealership assuming

that's where it was done. But I mean, maybe not just based on the how new it is.

I don't, I just, I guess I have a feeling that with something like this, it's got to be like

sort of a weird, you know, it's too new for it to be like, you know, something that you did wrong

to the motor. It's not like this person's beating on it. The type of car, all of that stuff could

have got an oil change and they didn't put the drain plug back in, right? Or it's something

like that. Right? So I feel like, cause he's saying like the rest of the car is probably fine.

It's just like, that's fine. But then someone had to do an engine replacement, which is just

so much unknown weird stuff. Like I, and I'd have to see that like that would be a perfect

scenario. Like dealership brand new full crate engine, you know, all that. Although it is one

of those, don't you guys, like a lot of these cars have engine out all the time, right? Like

if they're working on the transmission, they'll take the engine out and trans like,

like it's like coming in and out all the time. That's a good point. Like service mode. Yeah.

Not to take a transmission out, but there's your variables. Like the motor shouldn't be

coming out at all. Unless there's some. Yeah. The only thing for me is like,

now, obviously this is now a whole other, it's a variable that is that, that can be problematic.

But like, can you just get one with 40,000 miles? Just like that's what I'm saying.

And then that has all the stuff. Unless it's a car that's really difficult to find or like

some weird deal, like really good deal, I guess, but even that is just not is unreliable because of

like a timing chain design that needs to be updated anyways. And now you have that update.

And so like, you know, which is a thing and like early, like if you look at early,

what is it? The F 30 BMWs, for example, right? Like those, those actually like have a thing where

the timing chain design, they're right is problematic. So, so maybe like there's an

angle there, but like in general, I think the rule is find a good car that's had great maintenance

and doesn't need it. Didn't need a motor, right? Especially if it's not a problematic

motor, right? Because what are you replacing? And also don't buy a Range Rover. All right,

sorry, but not for the the E 61. Yeah. And then those had the turbo charge sixes. The turbos

didn't hold up very well. I don't know if there's like a fix for that, but that's they have high

pressure fuel pump issues that were never resolved and they also have turbos that will fail eventually.

So it's just part of the drill. Yeah. So if that E 91 is an n a in line six, that automatically

gives. Yeah, that's daily daily driver duties right there, but also more reliable on track,

but you can go bigger power, probably upgrade all the turbo shit and all that stuff on the

on the five series. Yeah, I would my mind goes to avoid the turbos aboard avoid all wheel drive.

So that that's why I want to daily that personally. Good point. All right. Last question.

a fun cool sports car that clearly parked in a corner of a parking lot to isolate themselves.

Go Art, you have thoughts on this. Dude, I mean talk about the mind. I think it's just

there's a couple things. It's they're either just completely oblivious like they that that's

probably the majority of people, right? And then the other folks are like maybe they want to be

close to the car because they see it there and they like actually are attracted to it and want

to get a closer look and they're like I'm already here. So like that's probably what I'm the one

goes through their mind, but I think that for the most part, most people are just totally oblivious

and just park like ass next to you when you're totally trying to isolate. I have a picture

but it's it's exactly this. It's I parked. I was picking my kids up from the from the swim class

and I parked my E 30 backed up in the last spot all the way up against these like hedges

and somebody in a Prius parked almost diagonally next to me over the line.
