alright welcome everybody it is Friday again life seems to be moving fast for
me these days so anyway I got the I got the background figured out I got it
solved so that's good it looks good you know it functions well and it actually
matches up so I'm pretty pumped about that to finally have that thing have
that thing all set up so actually if I turn it this way maybe it looks a little
better so you can see my background a little bit better I really dig it so
this one is from shoot what's the company acoustic
acoustic mat I think it was about 1200 bucks or something like that and you
know the gap looks a little big there but on camera but in person like you can
see how it kind of it kind of curves into the in between the two panels so it
looks freaking cool it and it you know it helps the room as well it makes the
room feel more comfortable and in sort of dialed so I'm pretty pumped about it
and and it's off the it's off the floor so now I gotta figure out we're gonna
put my Jasper my Jasper air scrubber I think it can still fit there's power
right here I think it can still fit right there and not be in the way what
else did I do for my office I ordered some window treatments and then I put the
I put the GT3 RS painting out on the wall outside there you see that so that
was kind of good and and then well I might shoot I might grab the grab the
roller and just roll out those that wall right there just what looks good from
outside my office but I got the same window treatment that I got here so this
this same window treatment I got a couple of those it'll be here in a couple
weeks or a week or so and I'll get those installed so I I also I'm kind of
dropping off a little cliff here every time I so I have this vitrozy glass
let's see if you can see this here so it so it's a tempered glass whatever you
call it carpet protector you know desk pad or office chair pad and so I ordered
another extension piece to kind of go under the desk because if I kind of roll
forward I fall off the cliff there and it's kind of annoying and then I ordered
another piece or on that side for where you know my other side of the desk but
my office is feeling good looking good feeling good it's it's really nice the
only thing I've considered because I'm here a lot more than I was when I was
sort of building the Middleton house getting that set up I might want to
prefer a couch so I can kind of lay down and I'm here late all the time and doing
stuff and on I got my display my TV set up here so who knows but let's just
let's get some other rooms done before I get into that so anyway last week yeah
I people are speculating I saw that you know what's going on well I had
done you know several weeks in a row I had it all set up I put the picture up
put the live stream up and then I got on a roll in the back there I was
organizing my top middle drawer on the 1540 cabinet and I was getting my tape
measures and levels and all that stuff dialed and then Jason came in about 15
minutes after supposed to start on my gas screw it I'm I don't feel like doing
it today I'm on a roll here so anyway sorry about that last week so Brian's
car stuff asks how's the GT3 coming along have you come to terms the paint
damage and decided what your future plans are for it so I only have like a
third of the PPF pulled I'm just gonna take my time my plan was to not rush
through but to work through it quickly and we were gonna use that car for
detailing season you know to kind of launch all these videos and and talk
about all the different products and make it like an RS series that I've been
promising for a long time and and then when I pulled the paint so we were gonna
shoot it and then launch it you know later in the later in the month and when
I pulled the paint I'm like well this is gonna be a much much longer project
I'm gonna have to do some painting and then you know the part I was worried
about was that the rear hip there the rear passengers quarter on the top of
the you know the fender there there's two three clear rock chips sure enough I
pulled the PPF off actually the rock chip touch up stayed but they had sanded it
pretty aggressively and so there's clear code failure right at the edge of the
you know right at the rounded part of the hip so I'm gonna have to paint that
anyway so the rocker the rock guard has to be painted no the car was not repainted
it's pretty normal for that you know from you're talking to some PPF folks
that's pretty normal for that rock chip area to peel and that's kind of how it
works so I'm gonna have to have some paint done and then if you watch this
channel you saw me smack the fender there's like a it's like maybe like an
inch long little circular gouge I had the brand new Mirka didn't even think to
smack the backing plate I should have lesson learned fresh out of the box
actually it wasn't even in the box I've had it in the in the cabinet for a while
now and you know buttered the pad primed it started to go made you know maybe
ten turns and then the thing shot the pad shot out to the left and then it was
metal under there and so I just did a thing just like a little like a little
bounce and so then I have a gouge in the very top of the you know right above
the headlight there so that sucks so I mean I would be you could be okay with
it but I mean if I'm gonna paint anyway I might as well fix that too and then I
may peel tonight or this weekend I may peel some of it on the on the front
bumper so I'm gonna peel the front bumper and peel the the front lid of the
hood and see what the rock chip situation is there who knows I'm gonna
just paint that as well so we'll see and then I have to decide do I want to
send it to down to Jose and have him do it or do I want to send it to like a
ultra high-end shop down there at Samuels or something like that so and then
from there figure out since it's been painted I think I'm probably just gonna
skip the whole PPF thing or maybe just do some of the high-impact areas I'm not
sure so I'm doing fine with it you know I I you always know when you're buying a
3000 mile car even though it's low mileage you know I'm fairly certain it's
not gonna be up to my standard shoot my $120,000 800 mile E92 M3 required
months and months of work to kind of get it to where I wanted it wanted it to be
so there was old like PPF remember there was the if you guys have been around a
long time the PPF they sort of stopped it in the middle of the hood so I was
dealing with that area and then they for some reason the guy had added clear to
the rear license plate area so to deal with that a little bit and and so dealing
with some of the you know the interior needed some some some clean up some
touch up because he was using armor all or something in there so I knew that
even though I was buying this this was like my unicorn color I had to pay
extra I bought it from Ryan Friedman which they you know they get top dollar
for their cars I knew that their standard is different than mine now I
traded my my touring which I traded probably 40,000 bucks less than what
it's worth now but you know whatever is the way it goes and so I traded it for
280 to them and and then bought mine my RS for 260 and and so now like the
joke was I was questioning how much value did I lose not how much is going to
cost the paint but how much value did I lose so it sucks I but I kind of figured
you know if I kind of figured I was gonna have to paint something and if
you're gonna pull paint in one spot I mean that would that be the way the way
to do it and then you know it creates all kinds of engagement with people say
I'll never do PPF and other people are saying you don't know how to remove PPF
and you should be using a heat gun not a steamer you should be pulling towards
you not away from you I don't understand what that's supposed to do but yeah it's
it's funny the engagement's been great so I'll make another update the polishing
is gonna suck too because that you know it's typical paint to sample paint
doesn't correct out as easily as the other stuff so anyway it's it's a it's
good situation to to to work through it'll be a fun living experience I'll
decide and I've always thought this I'll decide after I get the car to my spec
to my standard whatever that is I'll decide do you know is it a giveaway car
or do I sell it do I keep it you know what do I do with it and and so we'll
see you know I've learned my lesson that no car is a forever car that
everything is for sale so V-Ray says any deals on extra Viper chairs no they
they gave those to us so I wouldn't sell those those will go to we're gonna
have some little employee contest or something give them to them yes I'm
here for Friday the 13th I did show up Neil let's see Brian 50 37 are 70% and
80% isopropyl alcohol or isopropanol and ethanol hand sanitizer okay for the new
press all bottles I think so the squeeze bottles you're talking about the
alcohol like isopropyl alcohol is a little problematic for the for the like
the heavy heavy alcohol stuff like panel panel wipe and traceless we have a
solution on the site up now which is the actually the old original sprayer put a
put a metal metal head on it and metal tip and they actually work well so no I
don't I don't think there's any issue but I haven't tested it you know so you
have to try your own risk there let's see Matt did I hear you correctly that
you are no longer going to be selling the Heather Lake blue obsessed garage logo
t-shirt this is my favorite color um Heather Lake I think that's the light
blue I'm not sure you know and we'll bring stuff back if it's popular but we'll
have too many shirts too many options too much inventory to manage so then we're
always out of the ones we want and always in stock of the ones we don't and so I'm
on this escapade to to to simplify our packages to simplify our process to
simplify our inventory and then you know there's a lot of products that I promote
that have kind of gotten lost and I want to be able to have a you know a road map
a product roadmap where we can really support it so yeah I'm working on that
getting the team in place making some structural changes as usual here to get
set up to be able to make sure that we're getting you all the things that you
want can't be everything to everybody I mean that's kind of the antithesis of
what the business has been but yeah it's um it's it's you know part of the
entrepreneurial rock entrepreneurial ride Michael 2000 live says hey Matt
poured Griot's interior in a new press all and it seemed to have yellowed is
that normal yep yeah we've seen yellowing put it out in the sun it'll
probably turn back it's something to do with fluorination but we want
fluorination Spencer says even Matt dropped a little window tint knowledge
there's no difference between Lumar IRX and Formula One it's a marketing tool in
high population areas to differentiate shops I figured yeah the high-end Lumar
is the same as Formula One they just sort of rebranded the Lumar as Formula One
is another option let's get a rant going I'm sure we can come up with something
here give me some give me some rant topics what speakers are those those are
Dynaudio contour legacy they're like a special edition old throwback speaker
with like modern components and crossovers they're freaking awesome and I
love them it was those speakers like the whole vision I had for this office so
it's the main reason why I built the office so I had a place to put those
speakers let's see you need a press all bottle to squirt water in your mouth
that's a good idea I should do that yeah Vicharraza is the is the glass flooring
you know online company and let's see what what is the company for for car
soundproofing again well Dynaudio is one what's the one that Matt Shafer uses
I mean there's like 10 15 20 different brands now so good enough garage one how
are the DI units doing that were sent out to initial testers any expected changes
from the feedback you've gotten I think they're all doing great feedback has
been good I think that we're probably set up to launch we're going to do drops
so we're going to sort of build the order and like and sort of pre-sell and sell
into so in other words we'll buy like 20 to all the components to build 20 and
then I'll put quantity 20 up on the site and we'll work on selling through those
as we get near the end we'll order another 20 and we'll kind of work through it
that way and because they have to be you know they have to be freighted to you
there's some it's a bunch of assembly required and we're probably going to
have it assembled and shipped from our contract manufacturer in in Wisconsin
so that would be cheaper to get everywhere and faster to get everywhere in the country
so that's what we're working on the process now how are we going to get them the order
and then how are we going to you know make sure that they're building it to our standard
uh David says thinking of trying touchless I know you rave about it what is your favorite
parts of touchless it just works I'm in telling you doesn't degrade my coding
cleans the car pretty well I know it's vetted and tested like stringently so I can kind of
take it to the bank that it's not going to be degrading my uh my stuff uh yeah terrible luck
this month yeah you know it's par for the course I I expect it it sucks when you go through it
10 years ago I would have been crying in the corner you know so I feel I feel I'm pretty proud of
myself I feel pretty good about the fact that I've kind of let it go and let's see
trade for sciences what do you think about car youtubers struggling with views and keeping up
with expenses well I mean that's business right um when you're marketing sometimes you're marketing
wanes sometimes your marketing is a boon um youtube is really marketing this is a large
percentage of the reason why certainly when I got you know one of my wealth management practice
was taken from me I'm like well I don't want to build my house only on somebody else's land
and so and I don't have broad appeal and so I don't want to chase google ad revenue
and sponsorship I want to build a you know a traditional company that if youtube went away
it certainly would take a major hit I have to transition how I'm marketing how I'm reaching
people um but you know it's I wanted to have a business and something I could fall back on
so that's always a risk is that you as as attention uh as there's more content more
people more information more more stuff available to you you're it's harder to gain
gunner attention so for you to get giant views is you know unlikely and much rarer than it was at
one point uh and so you have to adapt and adjust and then realize that you know shoot if you have
a thousand loyal customers you have yourself a business so you can create a decent business
so um yeah I mean it's part of the game uh what are your opinions on or what are your yeah I think
some mean opinions on trust score uh any ar635 foaming updates um I didn't like trust score
because when they ship it there's no protection uh and so the panels get all scratched up I had
gotten samples of it way back when I went to kbiz I found it there and then saw matt reisinger
talking about he was there promoting it like this is an interesting product um I would I would rather
do a slot while like pro slot product instead of doing trust score because at least it looks very
similar um and at least I I have something I can use to hang stuff on so and the pro slot stuff
ships better than the trust score does it doesn't get all kind of marred and scratched up
so video will be up tomorrow I did the foam cannon tests uh further tests none of them work
and they're not like modifiable at least me and my canon conclusion there's not something you can
just do but the ar foam cannon works so we've reached out to tom at ar to get you know get
those foam cannons in stock uh it's uh it's it's actually pretty nice all stainless uh black bottle
it's it's you're just going to have to buy a new foam cannon and anybody spent 15
hundred bucks on a new pressure washer I think can spend 100 bucks to get the foam cannon
so I gotta get pricing on it um and it works perfectly out of the box it's a completely
different design there's more aeration it looks like it looks like the venturi hole is the same
but it's aerating more um and so it's pulling in more air through the top uh and then it has a
conical uh so it has a a step down type uh um orifice uh and so the orifice starts out at about
2.2 millimeters and then next down or v's down to 1.7 I think that helps with the flow the lack
of pressure and the flow that we're getting um from the uh from the the the bigger machine
and then um or the machine at the limit so I'll have the video if you want to care to watch it
where I go into all different scenarios of taking that orifice and put it in another
foam cannons drilling out the moshmatic trying to get it all to work the key target is to keep
the machine happy uh we don't want it running so aggressively I don't want it running at 2122 amps
you can run the MJJC you can run the griots we can get foam out of it but we have to run it at
well over 21 or over 20 amps which I just don't think would be smart in the long run the AR has
you know just performs beautifully the the foam cannon and it we're getting great I get great
foam like right out of the box with no adjustments so I think it's the way to go oh we'll have it up
soon Matt what are your what about clear spray or peelable paint film any thoughts
the problem with that is that you have to wet sand it um unless something else has come out
that I'm unaware of it's like the same process it requires like a painter like a quality painter
requires essentially a paint booth and then requires you to sand the thing flat otherwise
it looks peely now maybe there's some self leveling stuff that just works amazingly well now but I
think it's still need a paint booth um so I mean if you're gonna go that that link just freaking
repaint the car if you guys will remember when I did the esoteric series when I got my dot one
white rs back in probably 2018 2019 something like that and I went up to Ohio I did a 20 something
part series the whole point of it was to decide I didn't even like coatings let alone let alone the
ppf was a wax and sealant guy sealant wax guy you know power lock plus it was power lock before
power lock plus and colonite 845 so I didn't want to jerk around with that well I don't want to do
that it doesn't look as good now ppf has got much better I mean look how great my gt4 rs looks
with the ultra fit on it looks incredible so you know I think that it's viable I think it still makes
sense for a lot of people um does it make sense once the car's been painted and you know obviously a
lot of people are questioning does it make sense that the car hasn't been painted because what I'm
saying is if you pull it you pull paint and then people say well just go to the professionals well
have you met professionals in this world you know yeah you might have somebody's great but
there aren't many of them so you can't just go take it to the run of the middle detail they're
gonna jack up your car I don't know what they're doing anyway so um yeah I don't think it's really
viable maybe you guys can educate me if there's something like ultra new but two years ago you'd
have to paint the car and wet sand it to get the product to work and then how the heck do you get
that off when you need to uh you're gonna have to repaint the car kind of feeds the purpose
hey matt house question do you prefer gas appliances or fully electric um talking dryer
stove a water heater etc so um I think gas is kind of the way to go on a water heater I mean
there's like navy on you need massive electric service and the cost of natural gas or propane
I think it's much more efficient to do gas um now from what I understand the tankless electric
water heaters can be decent or if you have a room like utility room a heat pump style is actually
really nice and really efficient so if you have the room to do a regular big old tank and do a
heat pump I mean that's a solid solution but you don't have infinite water right and so you
need a really big tank and you need to be you know mindful of that but that's probably the
cheapest the most efficient option is to do a heat pump tank style traditional electric water
heater you know in essence the heat pump pulls the heat in from the surrounding area which turns
it into a little baby air conditioner for whatever that closet is you don't need to condition that
space if it's like an outdoor closet or something like that the woodgate house I'd put a heat pump
in uh and it kept that that closet which wasn't conditioned nice and cool um but I would tend to
prefer gas because you know if I have infinite gas and um I have infinite amount of water I don't
have to worry about the tank running running lean so I prefer gas on a tankless I prefer gas on my
range even though induction is now more efficient and you can heat faster and there's some advantages
to it I just like the look of a gas range I want electric for my dryer because I have gas now and
it's it's not as efficient it doesn't work as well it doesn't dry as well so those are my choices
uh Wolfman1273 says hey Matt I'm suffering in my current stale job I am I think he cements ADHD
and I can't play the same games other people play I really resonate with your obsession
and your car cleaning turn business help yeah I mean I this is tricky
who's the problem and you know are you the problem and you just don't know it are you
blind to it because I've yet to meet an employee who sat me down and said you know um I'm the
problem you know I'm just struggling it's always you're the problem Matt you know or you're the
problem IBM you're the problem you know whatever it is um see I never really had that mentality
now I got in trouble all the time when I worked for companies uh because I didn't like the rules
that they that were limiting I thought it was kind of I was kind of rules for me and then rules for
thee you know just let me run let me go let me do my thing let me improve let me chase
even as a young man I feel like I had you know pretty good taste um but you know so I was running
up against not not complacency not um I never had an issue with um with that it was always you know
doing too much uh stepping outside of my purview um getting involved too much so the last thing I
think you want to do in life um so I think that's better that's of the two choices of being apathetic
and you know blaming it on the company and just sort of quiet quitting being unhappy I think that
I would rather you go and break things and get fired you know go and chase I think that's a
better choice because at least your day goes quicker you're not just sitting there miserable
and horrible you know even even my horrible cart-pushing job you know I stayed busy and I
I got in trouble and I quit because the lady yelled at me for taking too many carts when
for the 17th time my you know my cart-pushing partner didn't show up you know and I got stuck
there alone for the 17th time in a row and so I was just trying to get the job done I
wouldn't get paid anymore it didn't matter but that's not that's not how I operated and and so
you need to figure out how your natural tendency how do you naturally operate it and Rick talks
about this a lot my coach um he says you're one of four categories you're either a being right
person you're right as if you have the right to be right as you might imagine I'm a being right
then there's people that have their reasons um so their reasons are what they use to justify
their existence so I use my reasons it's the people who have to tell you a story by the way
none of these are bad or good um all have bad connotations all have good connotations um
a reasons person will tell you the whole backstory to sort of justify their existence
and then you have positional people these are people that will take a position
and they'll die on the hill uh and they protect that position usually out of uncertainty or fear
or or you know the the sort of potentially unsafe conditions or something like that and
they'll take a position and um and you know the only way to deal with a positional person is to
sort of just take care of them positional people tend to be very vulnerable and then you have a
person who has to know all the answers before they can do anything so you have the being rights the
having to know all the answers you have the um the my reasons people and you have the positional
people and you can kind of fit pretty much everybody in one of those four categories it's a
little secret between you and me i spend most of my time um the last decade attempting to uh and
i've gotten pretty good at it to to figure out which way of being you are and then i know how
to take care of you for example if you guys want to take care of me all you have to do is say you
know what matt you're right and then that'll defuse me immediately and i won't go on any
rants ever again or you know like tommy who um is uh is um you know running operations now he um
he's having all the answers classic case um where with tommy um you just have to tell me you've
got enough answers just do it just launch you know a positional person you just like i said you
take care of them and a reasons person you have to kind of gently stop say i trust you i believe
you do it you know you have to sort of get them to stop otherwise they'll sit there all day giving
you a thousand and one reasons why to do things the reason why i'm telling you this if you can
kind of figure out your personality analyze your personality i'm not i'm not sure this is the right
way to do it um but i i sit around sort of analyzing my personality what do i like to do
and i'm doing this even as a business as we kind of meander through the entrepreneurial journey
you know i've kind of ratcheted back to doing more specific just the garage stuff and recognizing
that you know i don't want to be mediocre at the house stuff or the home theater stuff i want to be
great in the garage and and i don't want to be mediocre and three things i'd rather be you know
try to be the best in the world and um and so the the um the thing to do to figure out you know
what you should do next is first of all figure out is it the job is it the manager is it the
relationships are you the fault are you the problem there um is your adhd causing you your
issues if so do you need to figure out a way to leverage that and and and i don't suggest you do
that right overnight but i do suggest that you do not quiet quit you know if you are going to go
look for another position kill it in your current position and i'm telling you that will translate
over into the language the body language the energy you have in the next position that you're
searching for in fact you know you you may want to be pretty um you may want to be pretty
honest you know you need to be able to be careful but you don't think you quit your job i think you
go to um you you just be honest with people where you're at and what you're chasing and what you're
interested in um and that may be inside of your same company um but yeah i think i think it starts
with you you can sit there you can feel miserable i would never accept where i walk in i sit at a
desk and i'm just the time the day takes 12 hours when it's only an eight hour day you know with a
seven hour day with an hour worth of breaks where you're taking breaks and you're dodging work
figure out a way to get out of that as quickly as possible whether it's get out of your own way
get out of your head and get your crap together it's go try to break some things and go push
or it's you know figure out what your next position is and figure out how to leverage
who you are so figure out who you are and what your tendencies are hope that helps
um matt why is it that exclusive paints are different to standard paints so i don't know this
for a fact but you know i have on good authority that a paint the sample car from Porsche especially
as popular as paint the sample was paint the sample cars are painted in a on a different line so the
the car leaves i don't know if it leaves the factory or leaves the paint line but it goes and
gets a sort of a custom paint job and it gets the paint job somewhere else and then they have to load
the new guns and clean it up and so i'm not sure how they do and if it's Porsche i'm sure it's
relatively precise but from my experience and from the knowledge that i know from people that would
know who told me you i mean it's impossible to get the same precision that they can get with the
standard colors that they have set up on the you know the the the precision assembly line
and so from my experience every paint the sample car i've ever played eyes or hands on there's
there's paint runs there's imperfections there's a tendency for the paint to just not not correct
as nicely there's more touching more sand marks more marring from more hands touching the thing
it's it's very likely more a more manual process it's more Ferrari like than Porsche like or Audi
like your Lamborghini like you know so you you get the bespoke color you pay extra for it and you
get in a paint job that's inferior and so you know maybe you have issues where it doesn't bond as
well to the you know the rock chip area or the rocker area a rock guard area that mine peeled
but i'll never do it again i can tell you that right now the paint on my on my gt4 rs was incredible
you know it was marred up from the you know some sanding marks and stuff but
it corrected beautifully easily perfectly and and so that's been my experience that's why
tanner says is obsessed garage home theater divested in 2026 or change of warehouse locations
so um michael's still you know working on um we're sort of he's sort of figuring out the model
but um i think that you know through april this year we're shipping out of hq and then he's kind of
working toward um doing more drop shipping stuff so um that's what we're working on let me see
the matt's saying um okay i'll answer that when we get there for these some upcoming questions
kind of like using my ipad here it's working all right
let's see what is it does it look a little darker there or something like this help us out
turn that light on see if it maybe gets rid of some of the shadow maybe the shadows look better
uh let's see here
yeah it looks the same um let's see matt i'm getting an og m2 2018 with under 20 000 miles
and a manual so excited that's great man i'm thinking about m2 rs3 for ryan what do you
guys think like a 2019 rs3 or you know a 2018 m2 if that'd be stupid it probably would be we'll see
congrats hey uh bryant bolden 5763 says saw the test the charger got moved in the middleton house
why so close to the ceiling i moved it because i put a boom pole in it's really sick mosmatic
has a articulating 180 degree boom uh you'll see we'll have a video up probably next week or week
and a half to show you the installation that's really sick uh jeff junior are you all set for
the big holiday um yeah i don't do that holiday so i bought michelle a sweet tennis necklace for
anniversary slash christmas slash birthday slash valentine's day so and mother's day so i'm covered
for the year it's pretty dialed as you might imagine so so she's good
let's see charlie says uh boiling water to remove ppf larry at ammo does it that way
and i don't see the point and that's what a steamer is is boiling water so why wouldn't you just use
the steamer um i mean you run the risk if you heat it up too much that you you lift pain anyway
because you're you're heating the paint up too much so you know to put 212 degrees on the paint would
maybe make the adhesive pull off easier but does it affect the paint does it swell the paint causing
the paint to lift and pull so i think you're darned if you do darn if you don't don't use the heat gun
if you're really good with the heat gun maybe you can have more even heat um but maybe not um and so
what is you know heat gun is one way i find that the easiest way to control the heat uh and to get
it to the temperature i need to help keep the glue from pulling off now i might use heat gun or i
you know if the adhesive was a real problem but you know this is the way to remove it had i
done that on the rockers it almost certainly would still have peeled the paint now i think
kevin from next armor's methodology is probably the best uh in that but you got to have a unique
skill where you take your knife and you score so you cut sections and then you use your steam
um and you know you try to put as little pressure on the paint as possible um whether you want to
try to lift it up like some people are complaining or pull it towards you or pull it'll push it away
from you or whatever bull crap you're making up um you know that probably is the best way to do it
because you're you're relief cutting you know the ppf but you know then you and you're certainly
i think going to end up unless you're a real wizard uh you're going to end up with a couple
of cut marks in the clear coat so do you want that which would you rather have this is the
conundrum with ppf and what i've always been sort of questioning and never finished my esoteric
story of us doing ppf but i did this whole series to sort of decide is this something that i want
to have on my cars and i concluded that i i think so on some of them but like my previous m3 i didn't
put ppf on my gt uh four i didn't put ppf on my tesla didn't put ppf on it and put ppf on the
um let's see we didn't put it on the gt 350 i didn't put it on the corvette well you know
for obvious reasons sorry corvette bros i didn't put it on the m3 the f80 m3 you know
most cars i haven't put it on really i could probably should name the ones i have
the e92 m3 i put it on the g80 m3 which i had for two three months you know
i basically just detailed it and sold it um you know i put it on um you know a half a dozen cars
and then i've not put it on more because i prefer it without so having but i've never pulled paint
and i pulled ppf off of probably a dozen cars maybe more no issue
let's see my wife got me the dowel then air freshener and she got sugar blossom really
impressed with them how did how did you describe the e92 scent it's it's going to be renamed
a citrus so i think it's like clean citrus or something like that let's see yeah liquid
sanitizers and spray bottles i think i'll try that out let's see have the sales of the new
mss next cabinet met initial forecast and expectations so matt sent me some of the numbers here
um mss sales from december to now is 250 000 our forecast the sonic was 150 000
uh and baseline and 150 000 high so i'd say we're on the high side of the forecast so
so our baseline was 150 and then i think he's meaning like we you know 300 was our was our
high example or 250k was our was our peak example so i'm super pumped super pleased
they're pumped it's they're amazing cabinets we may be secret i don't think i'm supposed to tell
this but we're working on all black version so but don't hold me to that don't get me in
trouble for that one um and that would be like a drop very likely and then hopefully we can convince
them to make black forever the problem is they're you know making that color in europe
let's see uh i just got in trouble matt's yelling at me with the it's not set in stone but we're
hoping that maybe we could do all black someday but don't stop buying the uh the gray ones
um how did you first first start building i'll just say og uh oh before that sorry i
missed some questions here um how can i get press all labels in the uk and you can just
order them and we'll ship them to you it won't be cheap but we can ship them
we don't have them stocked there i mean we gotta make them like rows of 2500 for each one so
it's not practical at least not yet uh riz con says hey matt uh huge fan from
manchester uk looking to open a shop in the next couple of weeks but i really want to know when
the og stuff will easily be accessible and available this side of the pond i don't have a
timeline for your brother um we're uh i'm i'm working to try to make uh i'm not trying i'm making
og america og north america uh excellent and it's not yet it's good but we want it to be
excellent so i've got to get that fixed before i get in the head out anywhere else uh hey matt
you mentioned eating sardines a few weeks ago uh like or not like i hate them but if you are
going to eat sardines if you're going to go on this path there isn't og speck
these i should be a darn spokesperson for every product on a planet that i'm interested in these
are og speck sardines la brajula i'm sure it's not brahula uh bruh bruhula uh la bru
gula uh these are the number 31 sardines these are uh about eight bucks uh a 10 if you buy them
in bulk which i found a place i found uh um it's like gourmet shoot gourmetfood.com i believe
and because i was buying them for 15 bucks a pop on uh on amazon um but the concept here
and i'm going to make a video about this on the matt mormon channel when i hit my goal
of 195 which i'm going to hit i'm two 206.1 this morning so i'm going to hit the 195 i've broken
through that sort of 215 barrier blew through the 210 and now i'm i'm headed to 195 i want to see
what that feels like um but i i discovered i'll give you the cliff notes here i discovered
dr bosworth on the diary of a ceo podcast um um when really struggling with agoraphobia and panic
and and you know not wanting to go anywhere do anything and because i keep having panic attacks
in the middle of just walking around so um i signed up for the january 21 day challenge
and i started testing my blood for ketones i'd assume that just since i was carnivore
that i could just eat meat and eat you know eat no low carb content and i would be in ketosis
which is not the case and so dr bos in this 21 day course talks a lot about sardine and if you look
at the the caloric and the breakdown of this so this is three ounces of four ounces the net
serving size is three ounces of sardines it's a four ounce container but three ounces of sardines
and that's the drained weight um and so total fat 11 grams total protein is one of that there's a
protein total fat protein 17 grams so actually these are a little less fatty so these probably
aren't really good but it's a super solid roughly 50 50 weight distribution of protein to fat is
normally what they are i think these are leaner because they're like younger or something but
these taste way better sardines caught in the spanish coastal waters at dawn steam to enhance
their texture and preserve the quality of their meat and these are like hand picked that's why
you're paying eight bucks for a 10 for these are nine bucks a 10 um so sardines are this magical
you know little fish that has all the right macronutrient profile macro and micronutrient
profile to help spark the production of ketones the idea of of of getting into a ketosis state
is that the mitochondria inside your cell your cells if you get into a high state of therapeutic
ketosis that you'll end up in autophagy which is a sort of an accelerated breakdown or recycling
of bad mitochondria for good and it takes solid three or four months of that of that
sort of high level of ketosis if and i'm gonna you know make a video on this and sort of share
with you what i've learned and so i've had to switch my eating window i would normally eat
twice a day sometimes once so kind of flip flip flop and i would eat it like seven o'clock at night
and and so i took this course in implementing some sardines some sardine fasting where you
eat sardines for three days forced me to get into ketosis because i really wasn't i don't know if
i've ever actually been solidly in it and then and then i changed my eating window so i'm i'm
trying to eat most days depending on how hard i'm training i'm eating at nine a.m. and that's it
so today i ate at nine a.m. and 11 a.m. so i had sardines at 11 and i had i had a tri-tip
and six eggs so six eggs and probably a quarter pound of tri-tip steak this morning for breakfast
and i felt like that wasn't enough my stomach's been kind of bothering me because i just came
off a 72-hour water fast so um yeah the the but i'm solidly in a therapeutic level of ketosis
that's how i've now down you know so i was like 215 now i'm 206 i'm down nine pounds and 21 days
10 pounds and 21 days and i'm you know feeling great starting to do better on it and and i'm
convinced that long-term therapeutic case will afford me the ability to maybe drive a car again
someday at least be a contributing factor to it uh what are your thoughts on geon mose
i think mose is okay it's a good coating can't go wrong long-lasting decently slick looks good
but it's not like super exciting to me so it's not my choice i put geon mose on the white
emira it's okay and i've done it before but it's been a while and so i just just retest it just to
be sure uh progression decibel says hey matt not sure if you're going to revisit comments for me
some videos but in the bill timber video you showed corosal can that be used on tires wheels
instead of brake buster it can but it's not there's no cleaning agent to it the corosal is just a
iron remover so you would still want a wheel cleaner auto wheel which you can get at detail image
auto wheel would be a better solution because auto wheel has corosal in it it has so do you
want to go out the clock late in it and i just don't love those because they don't they don't
they're not as slick and foam as well as something like brake buster but i do need to give auto wheel
another try so you can get bill timber auto wheel which it does get rave reviews by most people
um oh good point coming to the car show in the 28th will you be doing any tours of your garage at
your house or at hq um my house will be open no one will be at hq we're just going to require
people to walk you know which will be like i don't know it's like a little over half a mile
maybe a little less than that right at half a mile to walk from you know from the
partillos where you know i'll be sort of centrally located next to where we're going to build our
our facility and um in my house and so people will be able to walk over and tour it so
anyway get your um i think we have like 50 something cars so we have a lot of capacity
so just submit whatever you got and they'll probably approve it um the the but i know lots
of people are going to show up it's going to be really cool but it's february 28th from 1 to 8 p.m
and uh j leno is likely going to be there it's going to be a fun event and so come on out
let's see ren's f32 says hey matt check out the reigning champ standard middle weight heavyweight
hoodie it's 150 canadian but it fits inward in more slimmer around your waist and midsection
comparison the white hoodie i've seen you wear well that one white i did buy a 2x because
i wanted to be bigger um or no that was an xl and all my others are largest but i'll check that out
i love the house of color but the one in the uh in the viper video i purposely bought it oversized
because i wanted to fit a little looser just for just to be a little bit different than the ones i
normally wear uh mickey 684 says what if you poke a hole in the existing foam cannon tube
closer to the top uh for it to work uh that's what i did with my merrillx sprayer to convert to a
fomer problem is is that holes about 0.8 and it needs to be like a 1.0 um and uh i don't have a
drill that can hold that small of a bit um let's see uh good afternoon from minnesota dan
that's up dan status detailed that a ppf removal video adhesive promoter can cause paint peeling
yeah the more adhesive promoter that you use the more chance you're going to have to peel
and so it looks or appears in my cars they use a lot of used
gas for all but the dryer can start gas water heater and furnace to prolong power outages
if use is savvy enough yep uh reef rondo let's see i hate you matt that's okay i get that since
finding your content you've cost me thousands of pounds dollars you know lots of money and i've just
laid my second swiss tracks garage keep up the good work my man i'm loving the journey and obsession
love from scottland nice to meet you thanks for you um what is your pivot cox reel when it when
is the pivot cox reel mount coming out um we were kind of holding up because we needed them for the
wash stations um any we're hoping to have it for spring so let's say in the next few weeks
wolf man following up on talking about job i want to go to work to do my job well and be
included in training so i can move up in the business and life i don't want to be friends with them
yeah you know i mean friends you know we're in business here be business business is an
excuse to be in relationship so you're in a relationship so you might as well make that a
good relationship and i would never sort of hold back and say you know you need to ask for what
you need what you want and know that sometimes uh rick calls this a gracious invitation you're
going to make a request so you would make a request for some training or a request for
upward mobility doesn't mean you're going to get it so get after it man keep going
when are you guys restocking the vacuum i was hoping to receive it soon matt had told me
we just got a batch a batch of vacuums in yesterday so should be going out contact support
support at obsessed garage dot com if you don't get a confirmation today so where seems to be
always out of stock because that vacuum is freaking amazing and you guys are always by them
let's see
yeah paint assembly cars are more done by hand which could have been partly why appealed
um matt are you using ai at og also how how how are you implementing it
i was reading a long article titled something big is happening and it was eye opening to say the
least um we use ai a lot for matt relidge uses it a lot um i use it quite a bit um but we use
it we're using it a lot more on the Shopify side of things using Shopify ai to analyze our data
we're using it to create pivot tables and to analyze um we're in this current project
maybe i'll talk about it more on inside the hex uh i need to i owe you guys a video this week i was
running around like crazy finishing the dr boss course i started the my business course
i joined something called founders club and i'm in another club called founders only club
which is a wellness thing so i got a little sidetracked here this week in my own personal
development um but the the implementation i think uh on our side and our business is going to do
and have a lot to do with code you know and and website you know getting the website to
look and feel the way we want it's going to have to do with i think that my gut tells me within 18
months we'll be able to manage all of our warehouse stuff off of get rid of all the sass
you know the service the software is a surface providers and use anthropic cloud or clod or
something like that to you know do our inventory management and our processes and analyze how
many steps we're taking and all that uh but none of that stuff is really you know really functional
yet right now it's kind of virtual assistance is what you get we're also using it a lot to help
us decide when to post videos um when to uh you know when to make social media posts so so that's
that's kind of how we're how we're using it to analyze what what works and what doesn't
yeah and rs3 would be pretty sick rs3 out of quattro safer than we will drive
if he gets caught in a rainy situation is unfamiliar the quattro is generally better
i think so too um and i'm thinking like 2018 or you know 20 i think 2018 2019 rs3 not the new one
they're like 30 grand nothing gonna be kind of sick
what's going on with obsessed wealth management company that was
seven years ago that's what i did prior to obsessed garage so that doesn't exist anymore
ryan doesn't like the gti so i don't think i'm gonna talk him into it
and let's see
matt i'm a little new to watching these but do you prefer to use ads glass coating or
wolf's glass sealant also do you put compound on the glass and polish it before applying the
coating yes you want to polish i would recommend getting built hamper review
but you can use whatever you know griot's fast correcting cream or you know whatever
whatever compound you're using the microfiber cutting pad but i put microfiber cutting pad
with built hamper review to prep it then i would wipe it down aggressively with
touchless and then my choice is still wolf's glass sealant
and let's see
2018 to 2020 rs3 have a really nice aura blue crystal paint fits the og color yeah we'll look for that
uh so heat gun you can get the ppf and adhesive hotter while keeping the paint cooler
but also no full ppf yeah i think your main ppf use case uh you don't really i don't think you're
a ppf use case you don't really drive enough or in the conditions to warrant it so the reason
why i went to ppf uh was because on my sapphire gt3 and i took it to the mountains and we're riding
bumper to bumper and rocks are flying up hitting you in the eyeballs so um you know i have full
intention to be able to drive a freaking car again so um if i'm taking my gt3 to the mountains i want
ppf on it even if i don't plan on keeping it a long time because it's going to get nuked so that's
what i want i wonder if your relief cut the ppf then soak it in rapid remover would you
would get in the cuts and help release the glue maybe again the glue is not really the problem
here um you the glue can become a problem but uh it's ryan have you seen the new adro front
bumper for the g80 completely changes to grill i don't think it's new it's it's still hideous even
with the adro um that came out like six months after the car came out unless they created something
else um the angel wax exodus seems to be doing great but again i haven't really driven it all so
yeah wish you kept the civic i want to like the civic but driving that thing was terrible
accurate to hypers would be a good option too for ryan yep yep i was thinking about that
it's just this front wheel drive kind of sucks uh let's see
matt i pride almost every brand of sardines they're mostly all the same i eat sardines at
least three times a week i'm telling you this is the one
progression decibel matt great work on your health weight if you don't mind sharing at the weight of
205 what shirt sizes and waist size do you wear uh trying to get down to 200 205 as well
so that puts me like i'm in a large so that puts me in a slightly medium-ish medium-ish
tightness large uh and then my waist is probably like a 33 um but i'll buy all 34s and just suck
them in a little bit you know if i get to 195 i'll probably be a 32 uh is what i would expect
uh i love it by your kid too nice of a car as his first uh but your wife gets a necklace for the
entire year so i don't think you understand what this necklace is i bought so so um yeah now in
fairness my brother-in-law is a you know is a um he owns a gold refinery uh company or a company
that buys gold and buys you know precious stones and so he has all the connection so i bought it
below wholesale um but it i came correct you know let's just say that um let's just hope
you're gonna get her head lopped off of that sucker so actually yeah yeah i'll leave it at
that i'm only getting more trouble than i'm already gonna get it um shodry my husband is
is obsessed with you okay that's cool um i don't have a driving update um i'm working diligently
on the on the on the angst um through ketosis through and hopefully one of these days i'm
gonna get on here and tell you guys i'm drove my gt4 rs uh damian f o one says i would be curious
to see your thoughts on a brand of car care products i've been trying i like them so far
but a smaller company that is newer uh can email me if you want to know see how they compare
the likelihood of it being better than what i've already got is pretty slim so
and i probably have heard of it unless it's like a local yokel thing but you can show me an email
if you'd like um anything you can suggest that covers up my slat wall i like the organization
but hate the look of all my stuff on the wall when i pull in
yeah i don't know man unless you made some sort of false wall or something i'm not sure
like what i did is i built an arm mud room and built another wall so i could keep everything
behind the cabinet array thanks matt i'm just done with my stupid draft vacuum what a mistake
yeah it's not good let's see what product supervised you with a higher sales volume
oh what sorry i might have to i can read what product surprised you with a higher sales volume
than you expected hmm that's a great question it's probably something to do with one of the
chachkies the guys would create for for the giveaways um i mean i thought i would sell lots of
high torque tools even though i knew i'd get a lot of pushback um i was a little surprised with
how much jtr we were able to sell uh the jr speakers and home theater
the but yeah it would probably be like skate decks or photos or you know of cars or something like
that uh what do you plan on starting the evo upgrades uh next month uh i think we have it
scheduled to go up and get tuned and then i'll come back here hey matt what bookkeeping software
do you use for og quickbooks or other yeah we're using this is a point of contention here
that we're working on we're using quickbooks online uh we may be transitioning so we have
quickbooks online Shopify so everything is built on the back of Shopify and then and then the data
through via api comes into quickbooks and then we also have a warehouse management software called
the posco um so it's a bespoke software that was built you know specifically for the products
and services that we provide it sucks like net suite like all of them suck um i've spent hundreds
of thousands of dollars on it um it's certainly automated some of what we do um again i'm convinced
that with ai coming that we're going to be able to ditch that um you know i just got a you know
paying like a hundred thousand dollars a year for it and we're going to it's going to go up to
hundred and forty thousand dollars a year um you know tommy's on it so we're going to figure it out
more to come and i'll share with all you guys probably inside the hex of exactly what that
looks like and a lot of the operational changes that i've made and what i think the future looks
like for us um as i head toward a profitability model and then a profit sharing type model bonus
structure for the for the whole organization um to you know to have upward mobility for the people
that are here you know i think we can go i think we can double where we're at with the same staff
that we have minus just like a few additions uh let's see what do you think about the f-150
tremor i'm finding that my lowered f m3 40 is not for me uh you uh you live and learn i guess
um and if i'm going f-150 tremor i would much rather have a raptor just get a used gen two
raptor which i think would probably be something similar in price next time you do a home maintenance
day cleaning the trash can tidying bits bobs can you upload it inside the hex keeps helps keep me
going yeah i should do that that'd be a good uh inside the hex video do you have any plans on
carrying power tools since you don't have milwaukee anymore i don't think so i mean i still like
milwaukee the most so yeah probably not let's someday i find some great bespoke brand like
bosh was interesting but i don't like the bosh as nearly as much uh bosh video coming out i think
monday the bosh uh polish or testing and i think we're going to carry them they they they're still
there's still quite a bit of vibration but it's nowhere near as bad as it was at sima
so i think they have a place in the mid end uh let's see
i have the og vacuum solution the small round brush attachment is nearly useless i think what
we have to do because none of those brushes really work um they're either too stiff and damage your
stuff um i think what i need to do is kind of trim it out a little bit more um so it's not like
sucked into the hole there's so much suction that it pulls it in i know exactly what you're talking
about matt have you seen the new ego commercial blower i have um i just don't think we need anymore
but i don't know uh robe wear says former beta tester of the original bottles however i made the
i finally made the jump the new bottles really happy thus far but visit your area on business
all the time maybe we can meet one day sure come on over i'm three garages deep nice that's awesome
yeah the new ones are an improvement they fix most of the problems the yellowing was a bit
concerning but seems to be okay so i think we're all right um have you ever seen anyone use swiss
tracks for an outside area i wonder if you could use swiss tracks around my pole area in the summer
and take them up and store them in the winter the problem is is the swelling in the sunlight
you have to really account for that it can work um it's not super comfortable on your bare feet though
are you using an ai for internal software development i mean we're not doing a lot of
developing but i'm certain that you know brice and tommy use it to help you know fix some patches
and stuff on the uh back end of of og it you know it's going to afford us the ability to you know
getting to go at it alone and not have to hire a software developer in the future
it looks like some videos on youtube members only aren't always on inside the hex on the og site
no they are it's all it's identical um had the single krenzla set up for the last two years
just ordered a second krenzla and everything to go dual nice can't wait to do the install
i tell you you're screwed though um you're never going to be able to go back
you're you're now a convert forever uh let's see
uh ceo detailing says also will you be buying any of the mystery boxes from bradley though
you guys to buy mystery boxes have lost your mind it's such a waste of time and money
i don't play the lottery either though have you ever considered an esop well it's a privately
held you know 100 owned by me um it's a single member uh llc so a employee stock option plan
is more for a public company um what i'm talking about is cash you know i'm not particularly
interested in diluting um you know maybe someday that would change but i mean this is kind of my
personal brand uh so to dilute ownership really doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless i was
going to bring in some some private you know some equity from outside um and i would do that in a
you know diversified fashion and that would be a pool of people because i you know you don't want
to have me with a boss you want me to do me so yeah no it would be a you know what what we're
going to set up is a structure for if we hit our profit goals then we have a pool that pays out
and then gets distributed out in a discretionary basis based on performance i don't want this like
nickelyn dime um quarterly performance updates and this is freaking stupid it's a waste of time um
i don't want to get in this tenured thing where you know like you're a tenured teacher you're the
worst teacher but because you've been there the longest that you make the most that doesn't make
any sense to me um i want an incentive based structure i haven't been able to do that because
we grew so fat and we're trying to manage inventory and hire people uh and just manage the day to
day you know just trying to survive and so all of the steps i'm taking now is to shore up the
back end shore up the profitability focus in making sure that all of our products are doing well
inside of my niche which is to you know curate and not retail and i think that um i think that
we're headed you know solidly in that direction let's see really love on the og site that it shows
you x amount left and x in stock on the products can you make all products show the accounts
not all in stock show that um some products i'm not sure why wait you know we some products we
because we drop ship we can't have um we can't have the number there
hey matt i'm having a new garage built uh having a new garage built a new home built
and what is the number one thing that you would recommend i'd want to do as an og solution for
the garage the builder is doing two dedicated 20 amp circuits they are also doing dual hose bibs
in there for a recommended hose bib yes you want to do all that you also want to make sure that
you're setting your wiring up properly for lighting and lighting control you're going to want to do
linear lights you're going to do he williams you're going to want to do um leutron uh raw
to select control so you're going to want to make sure you're set up and wired for that
so you want to reach out to the design team they'll give you the the the stuff that you need
um yeah so the the dual you know dedicated 20 amps would be for your for your pressure
wash you're going to want one for the vacuum system um you'll probably want an electric charger
port you're going to want if you're going to do an air compressor to figure out where to
wire that at 220 so that's what you're going to need not sure if it was asked if i missed it but
update on the 635 the 635 foam cannon it's going to have to be at least in the interim it's going
to have to be the ar foam cannon so that's what you're going to have to do i mean make sure
matt didn't have anything else that i'm supposed to talk about here yet we talked about the vacuum
talked about mss sales um you know there's ryan was absent from school today he's sick
kate was sick the other day hopefully i don't get sick um because i'm firing on all cylinders
baby i'm getting to i'm getting to 195 i'm gonna see 199.9 soon and i'm uh i'm gonna get there
i'm gonna get there with a smile on my face and then hopefully at some point i'm gonna fix this
phobia bullcrap and i'm gonna be rolling so anyway thanks everybody for um for being here
thanks for listening i'll have um i'm gonna have Wyatt and Alexis get this up as soon as it renders
so hopefully they'll get it up here this afternoon and um we'll make sure that the
monetization is correct so it doesn't put 5000 ads in it and uh as always you know stay tuned
for more crazy i'm gonna keep chasing the dream here and uh uh lots of stuff coming on matt mormon
channel bosh testing more polishing and ppf and probably more problems on the gt3 if anything if
there's any you know consolation or if there's any consolation that's not the right word if i'm
there's almost guarantee of more problems the way it's been going um i got a yeti arc that i'm
building so i'm gonna build the bike which i don't know how to do but i'm gonna figure it out
and it's not too deep i knew how to do some of it but i'm gonna figure that out
it's a sick build um ruttler's and i're gonna get back on the mountain bike trail tomorrow so
that's cool uh and then um i'll be organizing my rolling toolbox with all the fancy coke and stuff
here uh so i'll make a video on that uh we have uh the test of the lower end
air compressors um og channel make sure to go watch the viper chair video i think is pretty good
we're getting there what else do we have lots of stuff we're doing three videos a week on matt
mormon we're doing three videos a week on the og channel we'll be doing two videos we'll be
activating the og shorts channel here soon as well so the sky's the limit anyway thanks for being
here see you soon
