I'm Matt, the moderator of The Andrew here with Bill Goldberg.

It's been a minute.

We're back.

It's been kind of a whirlwind month

coming off of SEMA,

been posting episodes and interviews from SEMA,

trying to get them up on YouTube.

And I don't know if you saw this yet,

but I've been doing it a little differently.

On the podcast,

we'll take maybe two interviews

that are 15, 20 minutes long

and do an episode with it.

But on YouTube,

I've been pulling them out individually.

So you sit down with Mike and Jim Ring,

who, by the way, stole the show.

I mean, the Aston Martin was just insane.

And people had showed up at SEMA

just to see that car.

Oh, well, yeah.

So anyway, the YouTube channel,

but you've been out and about.

You've been in the garage.

You've been working on the cars.

One in particular we want to talk about.

Quick trip out to Arizona, Colorado,

to see Gage and football games

and try to, there's a lot going on.

Yeah, it's been a minute.

I drove the new, the Twin Turbo V6 Daytona.

Yeah.

And Chap and Dodge did some commercial stuff,

some advertising stuff with them.

It's going to be pretty hilarious.

But yeah, first impressions of that car.

Well, you drove the EV version

at the Radford School, right?

Which I haven't really talked about.

And I will at length at some time,

but I was not impressed by any stretch of imagination

as you would.

Well, look, sales are reflecting that.

So not many people have heard of that.

I'm just saying, I'm being as kind as humanly possible.

I will allude to the fact that it only took

an excess of three to four minutes

for me to want to vomit while driving it.

So let's just say it didn't start off.

Yeah, and it didn't really end well.

I wasn't impressed at all.

I mean, I'm not the EV guy by any stretch of imagination.

I love you to death.

I try not to rag on you and you're my drunk.

I get it.

It's to each his own shooter preference,

but I was very disappointed.

The only thing that I'd really loved was the interior.

They knocked the interior out of the park.

I've talked about this at length before.

In driving the new, I think it's the scat pack.

I don't know what it's got.

With the hurricane engine, the twin turbo,

yeah, six-cylinder.

Yeah, I'm not gonna say it was an anticlimactic burnout,

but all I can say is that

if you're a guy like myself who loves the brand so much

because of the ability to get in it

when they offered the Hellcat,

you can breakstand it and blow the tires off of it

any time you want in a very short period of time.

With all of the hoopla and the letdown of the EV

and the hoopla behind the hurricane motor,

I wasn't immediately impressed with its performance

because there were things that there was a setup

that is way too involved for today's

short attention span human beings.

And for a person such as myself

that I just wanna get in the car, start it up

and blow the tires off of it,

there's too much going on.

So I hope that they rectify that

before everything comes out because I don't know.

This was a early release.

I don't think it's, they're out for public consumption yet

but this one was sent to Chapman Dodge

and it was interesting.

So there was the six pack high output

which is the 550 horsepower and the standard output

which is 420 horsepower.

Yeah, I think I was in the former of the two.

Okay.

And they, you know, what I loved so much about the EV

if I could pull anything from it was the interior, as I said

and in this car, they changed the one thing

that I liked the most, which was the seats.

So, you know, we're all about first impressions

and I can't wait till they come out with something else.

Let's just say that.

Yeah.

So the seats, if you were in the standard output car

it might not have had the better seats in it.

Maybe the high output car does it

and we know they're still working on a V8 version

but I'm just curious in the vehicle, the platform as it is

like, you know, my fear is when they started this

it was an EV platform

and then they switched to making it available

with a gas engine and then somewhere down the line

it's like, by the way, the V8 does fit.

We checked.

I'm like, okay, but that doesn't mean you planned it

that way from the beginning.

So what is that going to do to this car

and this platform?

I mean, it's bigger, it's heavier.

What I think it should do to it

is they should hand the billion dollar platform

over to Chrysler and let Chrysler come out

with the 300, a new updated version of the 300.

Okay.

And then, you know, make their money back on that

and satiate a 300 crowd that's pretty fricking big.

Yeah.

And then get off their ass and offer something new

and get that bad taste that everybody's about.

You know, I mean, it's easy for me to say

because it doesn't, you know,

cost me a billion dollars to come up with another platform.

Look.

It's super interesting, right?

It would be like, hey, what if we made the four door,

you know, a sports sedan, added some luxury to it,

made it a Chrysler, but is there even any Chrysler left?

Is it just a minivan?

I don't even know if the brand is around.

Three months, yeah.

That's why I'm saying hand it over to them

and have them come back to the forefront

because I believe, I don't know, man.

Because the dealers must want something

other than just a minivan.

Exactly.

Right?

And again, like I said,

I didn't understand the 300 crowd,

but I understand it now.

Yeah.

You know, and that was a big crowd.

You know, that was an affordable car

that, you know, a lot of people could go out

and just purchase and then get right in that space.

I think it's, and it's needed.

You know, I don't know.

I'm not an automotive executive

by any stretch of imagination,

but you know, I do know,

I think I know what the public wants

in one way, shape, or form.

Yeah.

So the Chrysler, I hadn't even really

think about this in a while,

but the Chrysler just has minivans.

Yeah.

So what are the dealers doing?

It's like...

I don't know.

Use cars?

I don't know.

I, yeah, I guess, right?

I don't, I don't know.

It's like, it's an interesting question.

Okay.

It's an idea.

Anyway, so you went out to,

you went out to Arizona,

you shot this commercial with them.

I think it'll be, did you have some fun?

You must have had some fun.

Well, hey, I'm retired, man.

So I had to, I got to find another job.

So I might just be, I might just be another,

I might just be the newest salesman at Chapman Dodge.

It wouldn't be the worst.

If it was possible, what would it look like?

Yeah.

That's all I'm saying.

That's good.

Sounds like it's fun.

And we had a great time.

It was raining the whole time.

So I couldn't go out and make people throw up

and do a lot of donuts and stuff.

So, you know, we had to bring little Hollywood

special effects, I think, to the forefront.

But yeah, it was fun, man.

There was a great group of guys and girls down there.

And they made the day a lot of fun.

And it was pretty interesting.

They got some badass cars there, too.

Yeah.

Super stock in there and a Demon 170 and a regular Demon

and, you know, all the new stuff and 392 Gladiator.

I think they're talking about building.

I don't know.

But interesting.

I drove it.

It was nice.

Overpowered.

Yeah.

That's fun.

But yeah.

It was a lot of fun.

But here, the only thing I've been doing here

is try to get dirt off my fingernails,

because I've dropped a couple hints.

But I'm taking the 92911 Turbo.

Yeah.

I love this car.

I saw this car in California when you were out here.

It wasn't with the rest of the collection.

It was in the garage at the house.

And it's just a badass.

All us car collectors are smart enough

to know when it's time to flip a car.

And I think it's time to flip this thing.

We've put, I think, I don't know how many thousand miles on it

in the 18 years that we've owned it.

But it's literally just doing a lot of sitting as of late.

And like the XKE that I put 100 grand in and didn't even

start when I got restored before I sold it.

I think it needs to go to somebody that

it might be the pinnacle of their collection.

And they really do what needs to be done with it.

These cars are pulling a lot of money now.

And it's just sitting in the collection, man.

It's time to send it out there and let somebody enjoy it.

And I can replace it with a couple other things.

I saw you had it up on the left.

You were doing some cleaning stuff on it

and posted it up on Instagram.

We're taking a quick look at that right now.

But yeah, it's good.

It's looking good.

It's looking clean.

The thing's got 42,000 miles on it.

And the problem is, is that I bought it from Bob Johnson

in Atlanta, right?

And Bob got me into the business.

Bob is so tight with the Barra Jackson boys.

It's not even funny.

And he kind of got me into their little circle.

And this guy named Larry Step, I think,

that owned it at a time.

And he sent it out, or the current owner,

prior to Bob receiving it, sent it out to Scottsdale

and had some engine builder go through this thing,

put a larger turbo on it, put a custom intercooler on it.

So the point is, is that we can't contact that person now

because they're older and they have advanced

and they really don't remember too much about the car.

So long story short, I'm trying to find the guy who

did the upgrades on this thing so that I can advertise it

properly.

And I'm just doing some guessing right now.

And I found some stuff working with the exhaust

that's pretty trick on there.

And I want to be able to advertise it properly

for what it actually is.

Yeah.

So yeah, I'm going through it with Q-Tix, man.

And it's a lot of fun.

And I've learned a lot about this air-cooled engine

along the way.

Man, it's technical as shit.

And it is so wicked, the technology that goes into this thing.

That exhaust system itself, man, it's involved.

Let's just say that.

And I'm learning as much as I can about it.

And it's eye-opening.

Technology is really frickin' cool.

I mean, really cool.

I can see why everybody is gawking over these cars.

There is.

It's pretty wild.

Yeah.

Especially an American muscle car guy like me.

I'm just learning.

Everything I uncover is a new learning adventure.

So I mean, the generation car that you have,

the Porsche you have, is the analog version.

It is the muscle car version of the Porsche 911.

And it really is sort of the pinnacle of that turbo.

And I think that's what everyone still

really loves about that car.

That's what I didn't know was it's

the refined version of the 930, right?

So that's pretty cool in and of itself.

I mean, I didn't know, like I said,

I didn't know much about this car.

I really didn't.

I've got a little book of notes on it

and the knowledge from Bob Johnson about its history.

But I'm a muscle car guy, an American muscle car guy.

We all know that.

And this has been the one car in the collection

that has just been sitting there.

I know what it is, but I don't know what it is.

And now in prepping it and getting it ready for someone

else, I'm learning a lot about this car.

And the technology is really fricking cool, man.

Yeah.

Cool.

And it's a classic car.

Then I get it.

I completely understand why everybody loves them so much.

Do you get into it?

Do you fit into it well?

I mean, you can drive it, but it's tough, right?

No.

I mean, what I love about these ports

or what I love about these ports is

they do present a larger cockpit, right?

All in all.

But in 92, their larger cockpit really isn't that large.

Right.

I got to say.

I mean, it's too small for me, but it's still fun.

I mean, I pour into the passenger seat when I drive it.

I do it with the body of mine, we're shoulder to shoulder.

I mean, it's enough to ride.

But I can see how a smaller European dude would

love this car because he can fit in it

and someone your size.

Absolutely love this thing.

Just love it.

Yeah.

And it's funny because the Porsche guys that we know,

like Patrick Long and Jensen Button and those guys

are 150 pounds.

I get it.

But as one person driving the car, it's comfortable.

It's fun.

I mean, it's claustrophobic, but it's part of the process.

It's part of the fun of the allure of the car.

It's not like I can fit in the Cobra.

But I go out of my comfort zone because of what it is

and because the experience is worth being uncomfortable.

As Wanda driven it much?

I mean, maybe in California, but when

you guys moved out there and had it stowed away for a bit.

I think she's driven it three times in six years.

Yeah.

But also, it's like building out the barn,

building out the business she's got there.

She's got another baby kangaroo to take care of.

She doesn't have time to drive her Porsche.

I saw a video of the dog coming over

to say hi to the kangaroo.

She's holding the kangaroo like a baby or somebody is.

I guess that's her.

So yeah, ever since you guys put your feet in the dirt

at Texas, she's been full steam ahead

with that incredible, I guess, what are we calling it?

It's not a sanctuary.

It's not a rehabilitation center.

It's all over the above.

It's a nonprofit.

So she runs this nonprofit organization,

takes care of these animals.

And all of them require a lot of attention

because they're either malnourished or barely going

on extinction.

Like there's something always kind of rare or something

happening.

So yeah, probably not a lot of time to drive the Porsche.

That's an understatement.

Yeah.

For sure.

The F-250, man, she's loving it.

I was going to say, drive the truck.

Drive the truck.

She probably drives that thing like it's the Porsche.

Oh, yeah.

She can't drive the Grenadier like it's the Porsche

because it's got like an 18-point u-turn in it.

Yeah, the NEO's Grenadier.

Yeah.

She loves it, man.

She loves that thing.

I mean, another case that we've had it for about a year.

And she absolutely still loves the hell out of that vehicle.

Yeah.

You know, I think the people that have them love them.

I think the company is struggling a little bit with sales.

So we'll see how long it lasts.

But it came from a very, very well off,

very well-funded oil company owner and made a cool vehicle.

You know, maybe the steering's a little sloppy.

Maybe the suspension's a little soft and it doesn't stop very well.

But it was meant more for its off-road capability

than anything else.

But it looks cool.

People love them.

For what it is, she absolutely loves it.

Yeah.

So you've been getting your hands dirty on the Porsche

getting that thing cleaned up.

Yeah, we put the Cobra on hold because the alternator

took a crap on me.

As opposed to trying to replace the seracoded alternator,

we're getting it rebuilt.

And so in the meantime, I shifted over to the Porsche

because I have to keep my hands dirty.

But hopefully the alternator is done next couple of days.

Put that back in and get that back out on the road

and shake it down some more.

And yeah, but this Porsche's, I'm

having a lot of fun with the Porsche, a lot of fun.

And it's in a lot better shape than I thought it was in

because you really don't know until you go over every single

nut and bolt of it.

And you don't know if you're missing a bracket

if you're missing.

I'm finding it hard to find little specific Porsche grommets.

Yeah, check pelican parts.

Some of the what I have.

I've checked it everywhere.

I'll find them actually.

But it's that anal retentive stuff.

You try to, everything perfect.

Also just give Bruce Kennebaugh a call.

Then you can do that.

He might know or somebody in his shop,

one of his mechanics that work on the Porsches.

I'm not the first guy to be looking for what I'm looking for.

And his, because he might go, oh, no, I got to make those.

We make them in-house or something.

He's doing those 959s, the Kennebaugh version.

It's sort of the reimagining, if you will,

the Singer X version of those.

That's awesome.

That he does.

And it is such a cool car.

He drives it up to Monterey car week and usually parks it up there.

And he's got a couple of them that,

depending on which one he's working on.

The first one I think we saw was the green one

that he was driving.

And the 959 is a cool car.

But what he does to it is pretty crazy.

I mean, he probably adds another million dollars

of work into it, but he's not messing around.

Like you said, the original car

is so beautiful in and of itself.

It's like what Gordon Murray just did.

Yeah.

Yeah, Gordon Murray.

By the Gordon Murray's, Gordon Murray's car,

he launched his special vehicles division.

He said the Gordon Murray cars, the T-50, the T-33,

the T-50 Niki Lauda, he goes, we

don't want to change that car under the GMA brand,

the Gordon Murray automotive brand.

He goes, but we've had customers inquire

about bespoke versions, like Ferrari does,

like a coach built thing, and McLaren's MSO,

and what I didn't know was he was battling cancer.

And when he was going through his chemotherapy

and all that stuff, he goes, that's

when he had this idea of launching Gordon Murray's

special vehicle.

So in his mind, he was working.

And the car that we saw that I showed you the pictures,

you've seen it now, a gorgeous car.

He took a T-50, kind of rebodied it, redid things,

gave it more of the McLaren F1 flavor to it.

They're making five of them.

And I don't know if it was just

different customers or one customer.

And I think he said four were spoken for,

and one was going to go to auction.

Didn't one customer get five of them or something?

I think so.

And at least made an agreement to fund enough to go,

I'll get the program going, how much money you need,

not just for one car, but to get the program going.

And he sold one.

And then they said, but let's go ahead and sell one

to the public.

So they flew this thing on a helicopter and landed it.

I think it was at the Wynn in Vegas.

They did the auction there.

And it technically got sold as a new car.

So it was the most expensive new car sold at auction.

It was $20,630,000.

And for those of you on YouTube, I'll bring up

the listing real quick.

So this is the car that we're talking about.

This thing is gorgeous.

This thing is so insane.

This is the T-50 that he redid, more than just rebodied,

but there was a lot involved.

But unlike the T-50, it doesn't have the fan, right?

So the T-50 is the fan.

What if you remove the fan?

You gave it more of an F1 DNA.

This is what they came up with.

Bravo.

This thing's crazy, right?

By the way, like the McLaren F1, it's a center seat.

You sit in the middle.

It's got two passengers off the side.

This one is a little bit more race car oriented.

So you see the headphones and the microphone that are in it,

because it's presumably loud and very

racy on the inside, all raw carbon fiber race seats.

This isn't necessarily the street car.

Probably I don't even know if it's street legal.

I don't even know if it has a serial number, for sure.

But just look at that thing just head on.

This thing's pretty crazy.

But anyway, pretty insane.

That's an understatement, arguably.

Arguably.

I mean, I told you the story.

I was an Aspen, both my brothers

and I drove the 40, the 50, and the Enzo

up Independence Pass, switched seats,

drove them down Independence Pass.

I flew out later that day to the Cisco Systems Supercar Party.

And the CEO of Cisco had his F1, and I drove it on the track.

And arguably, that was the best 24 hours of my life

in a vehicle.

Yeah.

Yeah, you drove an F1.

How did you get in it?

Dude, I had Wanda on the left of me,

and he was on the right of me.

Yeah.

It was the, I mean, I was on a track.

It was the coolest experience.

I drove Goodwood in Skinner's Craftsman truck.

It made that look like nothing.

When you drive the F1, is it, how loud is it?

It's loud.

Can you hear somebody talking to you?

Yes, but it's loud.

Right, because it is a street car.

It's just a loud street car.

Yeah.

It was like, I can't even describe it.

Yeah, I know that's like your ultimate wish list car,

your ultimate bucket list car.

Well, yeah, it's like taking a bite out of something

that you've wanted your entire life and your mouth

to it.

It's just, I can't describe it.

It was the coolest thing ever.

Well, I hate to break it to you,

but they just keep going up in value.

They become more and more unattainable if they just.

Yeah, that $800,000 I looked at to pay for that one looks.

It's $20 million now.

Yeah.

Everybody's got those videos of the one that got away.

That's the one that got away.

Yeah.

Leno was on Adam Frohler's show and he told the story

of getting that car.

And he, like he was going to get it,

and then he wasn't going to get it,

and then he ended up getting it.

And he bought it.

He paid for it.

He just paid for it.

But at the time, he just paid with the sticker price.

And now it's $20 million something,

not to mention his version, his car that he has.

Like, what's that one worth, the Leno one?

Because you know how well it's been taken care of.

I've seen it there with basically like the engine out of it.

It's been maintained.

In that condition there.

Yeah.

That thing is pretty crazy.

I don't know if he's made that much profit.

I mean, not that he's selling it,

but of all the cars he has,

I don't know if anything's gone up quite like that.

And he's got some things that are pretty special

that he doesn't really talk about.

Never know.

I mean, you never know.

Yeah.

I guarantee you, if something is appreciated

greater than that in the automotive world, he has it.

Maybe.

Probably, other than some of the one-off stuff

you'd find at the lawn at Pebble Beach.

Like prototype engines.

The first something crazy, quirky, Leno-ish.

Yeah.

I bet he's got a lot of that kind of stuff.

But there was somebody we spoke to.

Adam and I spoke to, I don't know,

maybe you were with us at the time.

We were at Goodwood.

And we were talking to Nick Mason from Pink Floyd.

And Nick Mason had his Ferrari out there.

I think it was the 250.

Yeah, it's got a 250.

And removed the fact that it's Nick Mason's car,

whatever that does to the value.

But when we were talking to him, we were like,

when did you get this car?

And he's like, I bought it new.

It was like the equivalent of like $40,000 or something,

which was a lot of money in the day.

It was a couple hundred grand.

And he had it there.

And he was racing it.

And then he had a driver, like somebody

that would drive it for him as well.

Like he would drive it and then he had someone drive it.

And we shot a video when we were doing the show.

We were doing the streaming show,

Going Racing with Adam Karolov.

And the interview was like, when did you buy?

It's like I bought it, basically new.

And don't quote me on the price, $25,000, $40,000,

whatever it was.

He's like, it seemed way expensive.

My family thought it was crazy.

But now it's worth $75 million, maybe $100 million.

I mean, from when we talked to him years ago to now,

it's probably closer to $100 million.

I think you were at Goodwood that year.

I think we were there.

Because Adam was driving something.

And I think that's when we were filming.

That's why I went to film the show.

I think you were there.

So if you don't remember the car,

you did see the car.

I mean, there's a bunch of Ferraris and stuff going on

anywhere, but.

That one sticks out.

That one sticks out for sure.

I remember.

But talk about going up in value

if you had the opportunity to buy one of those things new.

But we saw one in the corner downtown somewhere.

There was one in a corner building, a glass building.

In a brick, old fricking building,

there was one sitting in the corner.

I remember I got pictures of it.

Yeah.

I can't remember.

It was where the Beatles.

It was right near some landmark of the Beatles.

So there was some significance to it.

Yeah, OK.

Inaction with the Beatles.

But just to see the car like that, yeah.

and too many bills to keep track of.

Now the hard one, deciding what to binge next.

Oh, so you were talking about driving the Dodge stuff,

filming the Dodge commercial.

And I don't know if you saw this.

What was it?

A month or so ago we talked about the prowler

that had the Hellcat swap in it.

Oh yeah, I saw that.

Right?

And now there's this group that took,

I wanna say they took a Chrysler Pacifica minivan,

by the way, the only vehicle left in the Chrysler lineup.

And they did a Hellcat swap.

I'm gonna just grab the photo real quick.

So these guys turned out to be a much more complicated project.

I mean, we see a couple of YouTube guys

and they got this shop, I think out of Tennessee.

And they call it the Pacificat instead of the Pacifica.

And their video is interesting to watch.

And how much work they had to do

to Hellcat swap this thing.

Drop the little engine in the front,

which is front wheel drive.

They had to make a transmission tunnel.

They had to do drive shaft, rear wheel drive,

cut the floor out, and their intention was

to make the electronics work

so it has the modern gauge cluster

and has the touchscreen with the different modes.

So I think they're still working

on some of the programming and stuff for it.

But they didn't wanna change the body too much.

They wanted it to be a sleeper.

But ultimately they had to do

all new front suspension, new steering components.

It just seemed like a lot of work.

I mean, I would say way more work than it's worth.

But I don't fully understand some of the YouTube things

because they took a wrecked Hellcat

and they took a flooded minivan.

So they took the cheapest ones they can find

and married them together.

Someone's gotta do it in a Willys.

It's the LS swap.

You need the LS swap in the Willys?

Yeah.

The Jeep.

I think someone ought to put a Hellcat in a Willys.

Somebody should put a Hellcat.

Do you know somebody?

Maybe.

Maybe, maybe.

That would be so difficult and so stupid.

Someone should put a Hellcat in a Willys

with a manual transmission.

Oh, well yeah, absolutely.

No question.

Anyway, I thought that was just kind of interesting

because the prowler got so much attention

that I thought maybe the minivan,

people would be interested in the minivan component as well

were a few days out from Toyota

Toyota and Lexus announcing some new cars

and everyone is expecting the LFA replacement,

a car that I love.

You can fit in it.

I fit in it but the 10 cylinder, it sounds so good.

We had an amazing track day at Willow Springs.

It was also when the track day was,

I mentioned it before,

it was just I was up there with Paul Walker

and we had a couple of LFAs out there

and had great conversations, got to spend the day together,

got to race some cars on the track and it was a good time

but such an amazing car.

So we've all been kind of waiting for an LFA replacement,

a new Lexus or Toyota supercar.

It's gonna be called the GR GT

but I think they kind of were a little over their skis

on the LFA because it was supposed to be

like a $300,000 car and it went to $400,000 and $500,000

and whatever the price ballooned up

and I don't think they ever really made much money off of it

because what they were doing at the time

innovating with carbon fiber into like,

the story behind it was like,

you have to cure it with carbon fiber

and it was like only one of these like ovens big enough.

It has like a giant vault door on it.

They bring the body of the car in

and it was just like such an insane process at the time

to create something like that.

Although it didn't seem like it was that long ago

but ultimately I don't know if they ever made

any money off of it but if you bought one,

this is another car that has gone up.

I mean, these cars are a million dollar plus

if you got one of the rare like Nurburgring editions

those are worth a ton of money and they're worth it.

They're just talk about a bulletproof supercar.

This is the closest thing I've ever seen

to something like that.

We were at the track there

with a couple of engineers from Toyota and Lexus

and they just stood around and drank coffins.

You know, like I didn't even check the tire pressure.

They were like, no, everything's set, everything's set.

It's, you know, it's a Lexus, it's not gonna break

and I'm like, all right, let's go at it.

It's a super, super cool car.

However, on December 5th, when the new cars are announced

one of them's a race car, one of them's a street

and I guess two street cars, maybe like a GT like a luxury

like a touring sedan and I'm sorry, touring coupe

and this new supercar but it's gonna be an eight cylinder

not the 10 cylinder and it'll probably be some sort

of hybrid, you know, hybrid for the sake of performance.

I don't think this thing has been like,

hey, it's a super car and it gets 31 miles to the gallon.

I don't think that was the point of it.

I think it's just meant to be the hybrid supercar.

I don't know, I think what they're trying to do

is also bring it down.

They don't wanna have a, excuse me, a 500,000 hour car.

I think they're trying to make it a little bit more

attainable, something that they can sell,

something that can make some money off of, you know?

But I don't know.

I mean, you're familiar with the LFA.

I don't know if you had a chance to drive an LFA.

No.

Seeing them from afar, appreciate the technology,

performance for sure, never got to drive one.

But again, it's not one that I don't,

I don't think I'd be real comfortable in it

but for the performance to experience that, I'd like to.

And it sounds amazing.

It's one of the best sounding cars.

I mean, you, listening to like the Lamborghini 12

like the Aventador sounds amazing,

but there's just something a little bit more like

higher-pitched, more F1 sounding on the LFA.

I think it's Rutledge Wood's favorite car.

I think that's his bucket list car.

But he's a big Toyota guy.

The other thing that came up was Ford.

Right, Ford just went out racing.

They did Baja.

They brought a Bronco.

I think of the Ranger and the F-150, the Raptors,

Ranaman, whatever the stock class is, I guess,

and did well.

They won, I don't know if all three won,

but I think they two of the three, maybe all three won.

But something else came out recently.

It was another interview with Jim Farley

where he said a couple of things.

And I sat down with him at Monterey a couple of years ago.

I was just kind of poking the bear, just going,

hey, would we ever see like an off-road version

of the Mustang, like the Porsche Dakar, right?

And then, and he just turned and he goes, yeah, right?

And he turned and he goes, yes.

And I was like, interesting.

And then that's it.

We stopped talking about it.

And now I think he's leaning into that more.

He wants an off-road supercar, right?

Like Porsche Dakar, the 911 Dakar, which is cool.

The Lamborghini, what's it?

I forgot what it was called, but.

So now he's going, what if we had a Raptor R

that wasn't a truck?

And I was like, oh, OK, I see what you're doing there.

You're doing that Raptor engine in a sports car

or even a sedan of some sort.

Maybe Mustang-esque type of thing with a little bit of a lift

on it, a little bit of suspension,

but probably sold closer to the price point of the GTD.

Maybe something that's a half a million bucks.

I don't know.

Hey, I never would have thought that there

would have been a market for it until I drove that Porsche Dakar.

Yeah, the Dakar.

It's cool, right?

I haven't driven one, but it just looks awesome.

Honestly, I'd say the package that came out

is more than cool.

I mean, it's really freaking cool, like really neat.

And it completely knocked me off my seat.

I wasn't expecting it to be that badass as an all-around cool car.

Yeah.

So I mean, I can see a market for it,

but is the market big enough?

And what's the price point?

So what's the price point?

And I think he'll do it if it makes sense for racing as well.

They've done their Baja stuff, but I

think they want to run Dakar.

They want to run that event.

What vehicle do you run it in?

And would that vehicle be a good launching

pad for something that trickles down to the consumer?

Some sort of?

It's a tough one.

That's going to be a tough one.

But it's showing more of his intention, Jim

Ford's intention of trying to what he said

was not make boring cars.

He wants to make some exciting things.

And when I interviewed Carl Whitman a few weeks ago,

he is in charge of production vehicles for Ford racing.

So like everything Raptor would fall under his purview.

Something like this would fall under his purview.

He would go, let's take a Mustang.

Let's make it a GT 500.

Let's take an F-150.

Let's turn a newer Raptor or Raptor R or Bronco or whatever.

That's his side of things.

And he definitely indicated that there's a lot going on.

We're not done with just the Raptor lineup.

But by the way, 15 years of Raptor

and talking about the success of that brand, just

the Raptor brand within there.

I mean, what they were able to build new

without a bunch of legacy, right?

You're not doing a Mustang brand, a Camaro brand,

even a Shelby brand to launch something new like Raptor

and be able to turn that into something as successful

as it is, is cool, right?

BMW, AMG, but these things have been around for a while.

So yeah.

For sure.

Yeah, it'll be kind of interesting to see

if they can come up with some sort of the car kind of.

Yes, car guys, I'd love it.

Yeah.

You know, possibilities are endless.

It'd be pretty neat.

Yeah.

OK.

Let's see.

Are you are you?

You don't have to restore anything really on the Porsche,

right?

Because if you do, they're doing interiors.

Porsche launched their into my interior.

Yeah, I saw that.

My interior is absolutely perfect, man.

The only there's no, I mean, there's

a little scuff mark on the driver's side door where

the trim is.

But I mean, I'm telling you, it's pretty frickin' perfect.

That's good.

That's the original radio.

I've got an old Alpine radio in there.

It does have the original radio.

They didn't cut out anything by any means.

But other than that, it's completely

stock on the inside.

I want to say Porsche Classics, their division that's

going to be doing this interior stuff that we're talking about.

I think they have a radio that goes in them.

It's like a period correct looking radio,

but with so much technology.

I've already found original radios if I wanted to do it.

So Porsche has launched these, what they call these,

reissuing this historical fabric.

So the checker patterns and the different patterns

that they had, they are bringing them back.

And it was funny because when you read the announcements

from them, they were like, we started to do this

because people are restoring these cars.

And we're finding that so many upholstery shops

are not getting it done right.

Like there's difficult to find the fabrics to get it done.

So they do for jumping in the space

and making money on it along the way.

Yeah, right.

So that's what they basically did.

They was like, we're going to jump in.

We're going to make these fabrics available.

So when you restore, you'll be able to get them right.

I'm a big fan of when they always

start to recognize their heritage and go, oh,

we're creating these divisions.

We're like Mercedes classic division.

Well, they're restore cars.

And Porsche, they don't have a lot of capacity.

There wasn't a market for it.

Yeah, they wouldn't be doing it

if there wasn't a market for it.

To sell the parts, restore the cars,

to bring in some elite customers in that regard.

But I'm a pretty.

All right, so what's next?

Going back into the garage.

I am in the garage.

And yes, I'm going to walk 20 feet,

break out my cleaning tools, and continue on.

I have a new air cleaner coming in and other parts

for the exhaust that I have to put together.

But yeah, man.

Yeah, cool.

For the Porsche.
