Let's go. I love G, man. So I was going. I was ready to go. I'm just back from the Hamptons, guys. So I'm like, it's hard to deal with you, my cousin.
Oh my God. It's really tough, guys. I want to point out that there was a time in life where Lane would have hated the Hamptons, I think. Would I? I don't think I ever would have. I think he would have been like fucking snobs.
I mean, probably, but I don't think I would ever hate the Hamptons. Maybe not. It's a strong word. It's kind of my vibe, like a little town like that. Like a little town finding little, discovering little restaurants and bars and stuff.
No, I get that. I get that. I think it's more of the, you know, hanging out with Goop.
I don't know what that is. Wait, wait, let me ask you a question real quick. What were the outfits to the event?
Dude, it's funny. I mean, there was definitely some wild ones, but it wasn't.
But you guys, you and Nick are together. Oh, ours? Oh, what do you think?

I would say that. I was wearing brand new, like dark jeans.

It was hot. I mean, it wasn't really nice out, dude.
So it was like kind of like wearing, I only brought a, like a long sleeve good shirt.

Well, I think that while button down usually is refers to the collar, right?
Like if you have a button down, it has the little buttons on the collar.

And I'm like, dude, what is this?
And he's like, I don't know what, like, well, you know,
it's like, okay to dress up a little bit.
We even talked about like, we actually,
we were talking about like shopping because we were,
he was talking about buying something.
He bought like a sweater.
We actually didn't wear that sweater to the show because it
was hot.

It was a,
that was a concern.
But it was, I mean, I,
I do, I think I would always like,
like I've always liked going to Carmel,
you know, like doing that little stuff.
But I feel you.
I don't worry.
I just think that there was a time where you were more punk
rock.
That's what I was getting at at the beginning.
I was at the top of it and say, maybe he would have gone,
but he would have shown up in Dickies with some high
socks.

but also like having never been to the Hamptons myself,
I,
the reputation is sweaters tied around their,

success.

We stayed in Sag Harbor,
which is a really cool neat, nice little town.
Home of Billy Joel, I believe.

Like he probably lives out there.
Yeah.
And then we went to the American hotel.
That's where JT got,
he drank before he got arrested for his DUI.

And he said,
this is going to ruin the tour.
And the guys are what tour?
Yeah.
Yeah.
They're part of that story.
So yeah, just, it was a,
it was a grand old time.
Saw some of our friends from the West Coast.
Saw Randy from bring a trailer.
Oh, nice.

Saw Cheyenne from a formerly of Petrolicious.

I got with him for a minute.
What's he up to these days?
He's got his own agency or something.
Yeah, he has his own agency
and he's in New York now.

So that was cool to see him.
And then dude,
the most random like meeting of a person was we were walking
in Bridge Hampton.
They do.
So in the town of Bridge Hampton,
the event does a cars and coffee the following day,
which is Sunday morning.
It was a really cool, good cars and coffee.
Like probably like,
like very high tier eclectic group of cars.
That's cool.
Like tons of Landrovers, obviously.
It's like the cars that are out there.
So a lot of convertible stuff,
a lot of bigger Berkeley cars and coffee.
Yes, exactly.
And like, yeah, really good American stuff.
Really, really good.
Like just everything.
And then bring a trailer,
how to tent there and stuff.
But we're walking out of that away from that,
like just on the downtown strip to go grab like coffee and stuff.
And there's this like flower shop.
And there's this, they're like,
they have like donuts out there.
And it looks like maybe they're giving them away
and there's like flowers behind a table
and there's this big dude with a beard there.
And I'm like, I stop and I'm like, hey, Nick,
that looks like Matt Crook giving out flowers.
Yeah.
And I'm like, what's Matt Crook?
And he's like, no, he's like, I don't,
he's like Matt Crook working at a flower shop.
Like, I don't like, I don't know, dude.
Look, if that's not Matt Crook, that's like,
that's his doppelganger dude.
And then we're at, we're just both standing there
and I'm just standing there kind of looking at him.
And he doesn't, I'm just like 30 feet away.
And he's talking to someone and then he looks up
and he's, and he goes, you know, throws his hands up
and I'm like, what?
It is Matt Crook.
It is Matt Crook, dude.
So Matt Crook founder of 1552 wheels.
And so I walk over and I'm like, what are you doing here?
And it was like, I didn't even see,
there was some electric bicycle things front
and he was doing like an activation for the,
for the, these electric bicycles.
So you were just seeing like the backdrop.
So I was seeing the backdrop was at like a flower place
or something like that.
And it really was him.
Yeah.
It really was him.
So bicycles, not motorcycles.
It was like, I think, yeah, it was like electric,
electric bicycle-ish motorcycle things.
I don't even know what they were.
I didn't look at them at all.
Maybe they were motorcycles.
Not vintage electric.
No, it wasn't vintage electric,
but yeah, it was, that was a funny and, you know,
nice.

We were talking about rally stuff.
So yeah, we got to get them out to the classic.

So we went all the way out to these like past this like swim club
place.
It's like the most exclusive club in America or some shit.
And then we go down this, you know, to this killer beaches and
we're airing down our tires.
And this guy rolls up.

You don't have a pass on your vehicle.

Well, you know, that was probably good timing.
What if you got a fat ticket for China?

In Florida, at least the beaches that we've been around at
Amelia Island.

In fact, you see cars out there that should not be out

It's just parked at the beach.

It's kind of a red option, but yeah, it's pretty cool.
I'm always too scared to take our Kia Soul out on the
sand because I think I'm going to get stuck.

And then I don't want to deal with it.
Well, that's the thing.
Like they're telling everyone to air down to 20 PSI.
And it's like, you know, there's a bunch of fishermen.
You know, we asked some dude in the Tacoma who was like airing
down and he was going fishing.
Obviously tons of poles.
We're like, what's the deal?
He's like, oh, they don't seem to be too bad.
You should definitely go.

And then that guy.
Dang dude.
Anyways.

I was like, you know, had my head on a swivel

So if you didn't see it or hear it, then it probably didn't

It's just really, I mean, it's just a party little party
time.

I don't, yeah, I don't remember seeing anything or hear
where they're like, um, like what is that?
So the layout, it seems like they take over the entire
golf course, right?
Cause the cars were sort of like in a big long line
in rows.
It looked like.
Yeah, pretty much.
I don't know how many holes it is, but it's like,
there's several holes and it's like from the club house
and then, you know, the surrounding like stations
throughout like different like vendors.

Yeah, exactly.
So there's like in the main club house, there's like
some food and stuff like that.
And there's a big bar and all that.
And then there's just bars and food vendors all
throughout the like little carts all throughout the
property.
Oh, cool.
Um, so they'll be like, there's like in the sand
there was, you know, like there's the Myros Max and
a couple of other cars and they were doing like, um,
you know, made it like Mexican drinks that like
Margaritas and Palomas, right?
And then there's like something, you know, there was
just little areas everywhere with food and lobster
rolls and, you know, different kind of carts
everywhere, different kinds of food.
It was cool.
It's, and there was never a time.
And then they had the rad thing too.
They have these water bucket, like water stations
everywhere with umbrellas.
And it's like sparkling waters and spin drifts and,
you know, stuff like that in those like,
is it the quail model where it's just like one price
and then you walk in and you have access to everything?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's all access to everything.
Oh, nice.
Yeah.
And, um, yeah.
I don't think they ever charged anything until
this year to get into the show.
So it was always free, but it was invite only.
Okay.
And this year, because in the past years,
like I had, like last year I had myself and a,
and a person as like, I could get tickets, right?
And it was no, no money, you know, it was free.
This year it was free.
And then I could invite up to four people to go
with me at $1,200 a person.

And what, any, any highlights?
I mean, a lot, how many cars were there?
Dude, I would say it's so hard to like with a, you know,
how it's hard to see, tell, tell how many actual cars there
were, but I would say, I don't know.
I would probably say like 300 cars.

Like a lot, I would say a lot more than the quail.

And the, you know, the quail is all like brand activations
now.
This was not that.
It's just cars.

You know, and then they had Volvo as a sponsor,
Maybach and Mercedes.
So there was a couple like Volvos up there and Maybach
and stuff like that, but it wasn't like curated stages
with that kind of stuff.
And yeah, there was just like one new Polestar
wagon or something and that, you know,
a Volvo Polestar wagon and then an old like three,
like an Amazon and an old Volvo convertible,
which I don't even know the number of that,
like really cool, old, old like sixties convertible.
And then, you know, a bunch of new Maybach's and the,
that separate building, there's like the main building
and there's another building adjacent to it.
And that one was like branded Maybach and everything.
Like really like nice, like not just like a,
not just like a shitty cloth sign or something like that.
It was like, like a dealership branding on it,
like really nicely done.
Yeah, like full on like trade show activation kind of like,
like a booth, like where they have the build out.
Yeah.
Exactly.
But it wasn't a build out because it was like a building
that already exists.
Okay.
So they rebrand the whole building as a,
and last year it was Richard Mill,
the watch company and they did the same thing.
That's cool.
Yeah.
It was a, I mean, and then standouts as far as cars.
I mean, there was so much stuff dude.
It's like, yeah.

I mean killer.
I don't know.
Tons of F40s and career.
There was a whole career GT section,
like three career GTs on top of this hill,
which was rad.
And then there were several other ones.

Just tons of cool.
Like, I mean really good stuff.

So the parking lots are not on the property.
They have some parking there like very limited,
but it's bussing in.

And it's like everything you could think of like.

The cool thing is to all these cars.
A lot of the cars that were in the show,
I saw just like parked on the street driving around town.

And we were, Nick was talking to the guy a lot.
And I was like, I walked away, but he was talking.
And that guy is like, yeah, I'm just like,
I used to have this and that.
Now I'm just, I like interesting like different cars.
And then we're next like, oh yeah.
We saw it in the harbor this morning.
He's like, oh yeah.
I have a boat there.
And I was just like, hey, like,
I just kind of stay at my boat.
So I just like parked, you know, so, so, dude.

I can't think of many cars that are more weird and
interesting than that.
They're so cool.
Yeah.
I mean, it's like, they call it like the French F40, right?
Like similar sort of overall design.
Yeah.
The East Coast is so funny because you talk to these guys.
There was a couple, there was this,
we were looking at a car on the street,
like a 356 speedster or something.
And these guys were like, is this yours?
You know, in the new full fucking accent, dude.
I'm like, no.
And they're like, but we're like,
it's probably going to the car show tomorrow.
And they're like, oh, there's a car show.
Hey, Johnny, there's a fucking car show tomorrow.
You know?

This guy says this is a special car.
Like they're talking to us and they're like,
they're like pulling in their wives and stuff.
They're like, tell them about the car show.
And then, and it's like this whole thing.
And we're like, oh yeah,
what are you guys doing here?
And they're like, oh, like,
he just got a brand new yacht.
So we all took his yacht from,
they're like from Connecticut.
They're like, we took his yacht from Connecticut here
to like Chris and his yacht.
And it's like, these yachts in the harbor
are like, you're Warren Warren.
You like, oh, I'm really just,
I really like the Hamptons.

I think you would love it.
Cool bar.
Like we did some bar hopping at night, dude.
There's a little dive bar that's like the young,
we were like the old people there.
Oh no.
It's a good scene.
I used to be just biased against the Long Island.
Like just the beaches there,
not the people or anything,
but just like the way that the beaches are,
they're like long beaches,
flat, sand dune kind of scene.
That just didn't appeal to me at all.
But spending time in Florida and stuff,
it's the same idea.
It's pretty nice.
It's pretty nice.
It's fine.
They're smaller beaches.
But the water gets warm too.
Yeah.
At a certain point.
Yeah.
I know winter is probably pretty quiet out there.
Like no one,
all the wealthy people get out.
Even right now,
it's after Labor Day kind of like, you know,
I think this is probably like the end of it, right?
Yeah.
But they had some festivals.
They had like a harbor festival going on
in the town we stayed at and art festival.
So it was like, it was lively.
Yeah.
Like really good weather.
If the weather is that good,
like that's where you're trying to nail.
Killer food everywhere,
like really good food.
That's cool.
And then coffee scene, isn't that great?
But like the foods, you know,
it's like it's like a lot of kind of like basic coffee.
Folgers.
And everyone was very,
everyone's like incredibly nice,
which is kind of the opposite of like going into Manhattan
or something where everyone's kind of looking down.
They're just on a mission there.
It's like they're all on vacation or after vacation homes
and they're just like happy.
So it's like they want to talk.
They want to, you know,
they just want to interact and everything.
Everyone's on vacation.
Yeah.
Everyone's on vacation.
That's a nice place to be.
Everyone's having fun.
Like everybody's at the coffee shop here or something.
And it says smile.
You're in Santa Cruz.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's the same vibe.
I mean, this is definitely,
it's like a destination and usually what,
like everybody has their second home there, right?
It's not a usually primary residence kind of vibe.

And it's so like concentrated.
Well, it's such concentrated wealth.
I don't think we have this anywhere around the West Coast
where it's that concentrated.

All these, like it is like.
Yeah.

Like that's town we stayed at was, I mean,
sorry, the house we stayed at was on the main road,
but it was like half a mile up out of town.
Easy walk into town.
So we never drove or anything.
But old Victorian home, like we're talking like,
you feel like you're going to fall through the floors
when you're walking.
Yeah.
Right.
Like little two bedroom place
with the weirdest stairs case.
Narrow.
Like narrow stair going up to the second bedroom up top.
It's like tiny little house.
Sounds like something we would have rented for Radwood
like 10 years ago.
Yes.
And this is a, this is like a cheap home there at like
three and a half million.
Yeah.
And then houses are basically three to 25 million is the
house range.
Yeah.
And some of the houses are so fricking rad, dude.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
I've dabbled on Zillow out there.
It's, it's a whole different world.
Yeah.
It's cool.
And you could, you can definitely see the angle,
especially if you're a New York person, like that is
dude where you'd want to kind of have a location spot.
And then it seems like a lot of people are, you know,
probably post COVID thing,
but they're like moving out there more full time.
Like maybe they can get away in the city here and there.
You can get away with living out there.
Yeah.
And then they might dip in the city for a week or two,
go back.
Any Seinfeld spotting.

And then, oh,

I would say one of the best driving cars I've ever driven,
just so pure.

We all drove the S two and the 93 turbo,
