>> There's a lot to cover. Let's start with

the news.

>> Unimog.

>> Okay. This just was announced like

earlier today. Uh so we don't I don't

necessarily have all the details. What's

the story?

>> Okay, so we're celebrating 80 years of

the Unimog. You uh we we're all

>> we're all it's a we're getting it a

dinosaur shaped birthday in

>> my calendar. So, Mercedes has made a

like oneoff modernized luxurious version

of it. It has premium leather, has LED

lighting, has a six-cylinder engine, all

the things.

>> And they are apparently testing it with

some customers, at least one customer

for the next year or so before deciding

whether to build it. So, they're legit.

It's not like a concept. They're truly

trying to figure out, do we want to

build this as a standalone model? Do we

want to invest in this? And so, they're

doing some tests for about the next

year, you know, with customers.

>> This is cool.

>> Absolutely. And this is I I think I

speak for like the uh whoever like

oversees like their Middle East division

of like like it's like build it.

>> There are customers who will buy this.

>> Go to the site. Do you remember when I

reviewed that unit? A couple years ago

on Cape Cod for God knows what reason. I

reviewed that one.

>> Yep.

>> And it changed my life. And that had

just a four-cylinder.

>> Was it a fourcylinder?

>> I tell you it didn't feel like one.

>> Big cylinders.

>> Big cylinders. Historically the it used

to have a 5.1 liter inline Ford. That

one may not have but that

>> thing was so cool. Now I will say it was

more a commercial truck than like

personally own like it had air brakes.

What was it? Go down to see if he's

actually right about this four-cylinder.

>> No, that one did not

>> go up. It was aar

turbocharged sixcylinder.

>> Four cylinder will have a 7.7 L

six-cylinder diesel.

>> Wow. Uh that one was incredibly cool.

This one looks like a modernized version

of it.

As cool as it looks, like it really was

like these are like snow plows and they

are not like it looks like, oh, I want

to have one of those. You don't.

>> Yep. You're like you're like climbing

stairs to get in. That's like what it

is.

>> But this one will have a high-grade

leather contrast stitching, leather

floor mats, so you know it's luxurious.

>> And and virtual mirrors.

>> Let's see. Arnold Schwarzenegger will

around on Escalades now. Every time I

>> Well, they're not even sure they want to

build this there. The news article that

I saw said they were giving it to one

customer for a year, which feels like

somebody that really really paid. How

cool would that be? You live in

Switzerland, you get this for a year,

you cruise around, you're the only

person only. Yep. And it's worth it. Uh

I do think it's neat that they

Mercedes-Benz has a product line that

stretches all the way to this. Y

>> BMW and Mercedes are purportedly in

competition, but come on.

>> Come on.

>> Agreed. Agreed. Right.

>> Well, that's the biggest news story of

the week. Let's

>> downhill from here.

>> The actual biggest news story of the

week. As we reported a few weeks ago, as

the Wall Street Journal reported, there

were rumors that Ford was going to

cancel the F-150 Lightning, which is

their electric pickup truck, not to be

confused with the F-150 Thunder, which

is their loud pickup truck.

>> Nice.

>> Uh they have confirmed they are going to

cancel the F-150 Lightning. Um, and Jim

Farley did a big thing about how Ford

really is kind of going to start to

focus on extended range EVs. I presume

that that means it's plug-in hybrids. It

was announced also that they're just

general hybrids is going to kind of be

the the focus. Um, purportedly they're

extended range EV, which there will be

an F-150 version of will be driven by

the battery but with a uh range

extending engine.

>> You know, I hate to say it. So, not like

a

>> I hate to say it and you hate to say it,

>> but plug-in hybrids always kind of made

the most sense if we're really being

honest with ourselves

>> and everyone power boost. Good truck.

>> I just not even plug in, but good truck.

>> Yeah.

>> Expanding from this further, thinking

about it in a historical in a historical

context, I wonder how we're going to

look back at this era. It is such a

weird era of flux to go from fully EV

back to plugin. And I agree, plug-in

realistically was the correct choice,

but like eventually is it going to go

back to full EV? At some point it will.

So it's it's like a weird like progress

dip and then back.

>> Well, you look at globally and globally

EVs are clearly what's being chosen by

people.

>> About 25% of new vehicles globally.

>> I mean both both in Europe and in Asia

where which is you know where the

majority of these things are are sales

of vehicles are happening outside of

North America and that's only

increasing. And so yeah, I'll go back.

But yes, it is a weird period where we

like did a false start on EVs

>> and now we're roll everybody's rolling

it back.

>> Retreated a little

>> Ford to Porsche. Everybody's

>> but we talked to R.J. you know 3 four

months ago and he was like this is

shortsighted and he's got a he's got a

bias but he's also probably right. If

you look if you look globally, no matter

how much you're like these are stupid

V8s forever,

you got to see what's coming in the

future and it's pretty clear where it's

going to go.

>> And by the way, don't forget that in

2008, Chevrolet came out with a hybrid

SUV and a hybrid pickup truck.

>> Yeah.

>> Nobody bought them.

>> And there hasn't been a hybrid Tahoe or

or Silverado since.

>> That's because it was a V8. It was a V8

with a 9V to it. But still, right? Like

like there was like a surge of movement

towards hybrids. Ford had the escape

hybrid that was incredibly successful,

but then there subsequent generation

didn't have one. Like there was like a

little bit of an eb and flow. Extended

range EV would be cool. Uh there was a

middle generation when there wasn't.

>> Which one?

>> The not current generation before. Uh

>> when it came out like 13.

>> Don't doubt my my Ford Escape hyper

knowledge. Uh accelerated GV will be

cool. It will be the wheels will be

powered by the battery, not by the

motor.

>> Yeah.

>> Fine. They have to write off $18 billion

dollars.

>> Some insane number

>> some insane number

>> because they've invested their ton in

this and they're basically saying this

isn't going to be successful in the near

future. They're probably not wrong. They

are also investment in hybrid as Doug

mentioned also investment in smaller

hybrid vehicles cuz right now they don't

have any small vehicles.

>> You know it is interesting um

>> smaller

>> one thing we're going to look back on

this era and think about is how much of

the EV demand was generated by

incentive.

>> Mhm. And I think Ford is looking at the

picture and saying there will these

incentives will not continue. They don't

expect it to continue. You have to

imagine a lot of political future

predicting going on in Ford boardrooms

and in strategy sessions where they're

thinking is there going to be another

Republican after Trump is these are

these things really going to and based

on their their decisions, they're

probably thinking these things aren't

going to go back. The the EV the EV

incentives are probably not going to

return quickly

>> uh and in and in large numbers. Yeah.

And I will say Ford's investment they we

talked a couple months ago about an

investment they're making like a

universal platform for cheaper EVs that

Ford is going to build a pickup truck on

and a bunch of other vehicles. Uh

they're calling it their universal EV

platform. They're still continuing to

invest in that. But what Jim Farley said

yesterday announcing this was the

$50,000 plus EV market isn't there for

them, but they think the low price one

might still be, which

>> it is interesting though driven.

Certainly

>> there are $50,000 plus EVs that seem to

be selling pretty well. You know, I

>> in no November, December.

>> Yeah. But like, aren't Rivian still

selling? Aren't EV9s selling? We see

those. I see McConn's okay. Like, I I do

wonder there. Not that I think that this

is incredibly popular. I think a lot of

those vehicles were developed when

incentive structures were different than

they are now or are developed primarily

for other markets where EVs are more

popular. But, nonetheless,

it's an interesting thing to just write

this investment down and be like, well,

it's over. Ford presumably knows that

this is going to be coming at some

point, but are they thinking that it's

10 years down the road when techn is

going to be so different that everything

they've invested already is not worth

it?

>> I do think I mean Jim Farley has done a

is one of the more public CEOs, right?

He does a ton of interviews especially

in the last couple months and he has

said very publicly that he thinks a lot

of Ford's EV tech is just not

competitive. So I also wonder whether

there's a little bit of

>> we're going to give up on this EV

vertical and invest in these other

things.

>> Well, Xiaomi, I'm

>> sure. What are you Marquez Brown? He did

a big review of a Xiaomi.

>> I did a review of a Xiaomi. I get a text

from a buddy of mine the other day. Hey,

when are you reviewing a Xiaomi? I'm

like I sent him my link. I'm like, dude,

what am I Google? I did that. It's good.

the successor to the current Cayman

Boxster. This is obviously not what it

will look like. This is a development.

Talking about cars, we've walked back

the EV situation.

>> So that is a So we knew and we've known

for a little bit now that on top of

developing an EV version cuz originally

the 718 successor was going to be all

EV, they're going to continue the

current four-cylinder powered uh 718 C

box.

>> Great. That's what everybody likes.

That's what everybody likes and wants,

the four-cylinder.

>> Uh but they've now said that they've

they're behind the scenes doing some of

development work to fit gasoline engines

into the EV platform. So, on top of

continuing the current 718, uh, which

might be the 982 generation, nobody

knows.

>> No, the current one is called the 982.

I'm gonna tell you a story.

>> The the the 983 will be both EV and gas,

but they're having to do a ton of work

because they developed it to have a

giant battery for as part of the core

structure and now we'll also have a

engine.

>> Yeah, tough. a lot of engineering work

behind that.

>> You know, even separate from this kind

of pullback on EVs, a lot of people were

saying five years ago when it was

rumored that they were switching this

car to EV that there wasn't going to be

a market for it. And I think that was a

I think it was always a mistake. I think

even if EVs were full speed ahead and we

had elected a Democrat who was still

pushing it and in North America it was

still strong and globally it was still

strong, I think this still would have

been a mistake probably. And so, you

know,

>> too bad.

>> Yep. But

>> I mean, am I wrong? Like, come on.

>> No, it's a shame they can't read the

writing on the wall. Of course, it's not

>> What EV What EV sports car has ever been

desirable?

>> There have been none built.

>> Even the Rimacna at a million is not

desirable. Even the i8 at even at used

at $35,000, people aren't biting. Like,

come on.

>> I think that there is we there's maybe

an unknown market for an EV torch. I

>> You're right. It's it's it's unknown. We

don't know anyone who's in it.

>> It could be a market legitimately truly.

>> What has a bigger market? The Nissan

Armada Nismo, which I'm reviewing right

now, or the electric boxer?

>> No comment.

>> It's a race to the bottom there. Uh

>> uh it is quite a testament to how long

they think that it would be before an EV

sports car is the most desirable option.

That they are not just saying we'll

continue the 718 for a couple years.

They're saying we're going to invest

tens of if not hundreds of millions of

dollars to fit a gas engine in what we

have planned.

>> Kenan and I will tell you how long it

will be before an EV sports car is

desirable.

>> Never long time.

>> I don't think it'll for me. Well, I

don't I just I don't know. I I'm open to

the idea of trying one, but like I I I

don't know. Like when I even when I

drove like the really early Tesla

Roadster, it was cool and everything.

Was it a great driving experience? Not

really. I mean, it wasn't like, well, do

I want that? No. Like,

>> do do you find a four-cylinder PDK

desirable?

>> Well,

>> the other thing that has been announced

is that Porsche is going to start

putting in the shifting.

>> They're going to start putting in the

shifting. Now, that they've they was not

what they originally said. They

originally were like, be a German who's

not going to put in electric shifting in

their cars.

>> Why would we do that? We're not putting

it in. That makes no sense. That's

efficient.

You'll actually want it to be worse is

what you're saying.

>> That's exactly it. They were interviewed

and said that they were like it's less

efficient. It's not as fast. It's not as

good. Would guess what

>> you mean? Where like there are sounds

that you can then shift like like the

Ionic 5N does where

>> it's not just sounds though. It's a feel

like it like

>> the Ionic 5N shifting is the greatest

thing that ever happened to electric

cars. There are two great things that

happen to electric cars. That and the

Chevy S10 electric.

Never personally, yeah, two universities

in 2003. There's a 31 mile range and if

it was cold, it it was a 9 mile range

and went drove at a walking pace.

>> Anyway, all that's true of the electric

Boxster as well.

>> I am so pumped for this thing to go back

to gas. I don't care if it's a

four-cylinder. If they do another four

liter

>> and and by the way, this looks pretty

cool. I I this looks like a 911 but I

mean, they're trying to disguise it, but

it's got some wide hips, which we liked

about the 987. And uh let's bring it

>> All right. The EU has for a long time

been saying that by 2030 they basically

will excuse me, by 2035 they won't have

any gas powered new cars, right? They

were requiring a 100% reduction in CO2

emissions from 2021 to 2035. They have

basically today reversed that planned

ban. There's some stuff some like

logistical government stuff that's still

a surprise. What it the their new rules

is that they need to cut it to 10% of

2021 levels. So they'll still be very

reliant on a lot of cars going EV.

They'll still be very reliant on plug-in

hybrids, but a lot more room for gas.

>> I might give you a little hint. They

going to roll that back, too.

>> Agreed.

>> Agreed. Uh that is the new story. What

is China's current percentage of EVs?

It's like 50ome percent.

>> 53.7%.

>> Even China, which essentially is

creating a new economy, a new

infrastructure and all that. They're

only at 53%. Now, they got 10 years. The

EU's got 10 years.

>> Yep.

>> Although that clock has a tick.

>> By the way, they can also offset based

on the new rules uh up to 10%. Through

the use of lowcarbon steel that's made

in the EU uh through E-ules and biouels.

>> EU they make steel in the EU.

>> I think they want to

low carbon steel. on the left.

>> Uh, so in other words, walking back a

little bit, leaving still kind of

pushing for EVs on low emissions, but

writing on the left.

they give a new target date for zero

>> Porsche and Audi have that turbo V8.

Mercedes AMG has that turbo V8. There

are Swiss people who still are buying

V8s.

and Lamborghini cars. That's an

interesting part of those.

when they used to used to heavily neuter

the cars for America? Like the 308 would

have like there'd be an America version

because of the cats and all this and

there'd be a Euro version where it just

breathed.

where they do like a fourcylinder for

Europe because that's all Europe seems

still market demand for these big old

motors and let's just do them for those

and BMW will eventually be forced to

which is a 400 right like those also

exist there but nobody buys them like

the take rate on them is so low that

fundamentally they don't need to exist.

will there be a Panamera Turbo that in

Europe is a EV or a plug-in hybrid

two-cylinder? And in the States, they

still run with the old motor cuz they

still can.

there's an off-road high performance

version of the Armada already and that's

true of every full size. The Tahoe Z71

is quite pronlet, but they're doing a

street performance version,

>> Well, we love the GMC Cyclone.

>> and it doubles truck.

>> This is a 6100 horse pound car that has

>> 6100 horsepower would be cool.

>> 6100lb car that has a Nismo, a body kit,

and a rear spoiler. It's great.

Obviously, in my opinion, this is the

Lincoln Blackwood and the Morano Cross

Cabriolet of our generation. Is there

more power?

>> There is 35 more horsepower.

>> That's got to be like 5%. And the

engine, as I as you saw earlier, there's

a plaque on the engine that says that it

was expertly tuned

>> by the factory.

>> The regular

>> not the engineers by the factory.

>> The regular Armada is just tuned. This

>> Okay. Well, regardless, there will be at

least five more. What else are they

coming out with?

>> All right. So, there apparently five

right now for sale globally. They're

going up to 10.

>> 370Z Armada.

>> The the Nissan Z is not 370Z, the Nissan

Z. The Armada in uh the global variants

of the Arya, the EV.

>> There's an Arya Nismo. We don't get

that.

>> Yep. The Skyline. We don't get the Ara

anymore.

>> This is the problem. Trump killed EVs

like the great Arya Nismo.

>> Ah, yes. So, this is an Audi GT50. Now,

this is a concept car that Audi has made

based on the RS3. Basically, every now

and again, they let their apprentices

kind of just let their minds go wild and

build something cool.

>> We're marking 50 years since the Audi

5-cylinder engine came into existence.

And so, to celebrate that,

>> they set 14 of the young apprentices

wild on an RS3 to make this. The things

I found that were interesting, the roof

comes from an Audi 80,

>> which I think is a very weird thing to

use. Uh, the rest the rest of the car is

made out of, you know, kind of

fiberglass and stuff like that. Now,

they said that they aren't going to

build this obviously, but nonetheless, I

think this is a really cool looking

concept, and

>> we don't build the cool stuff.

>> We build the Nismo Armada.

>> They're like, we let the young brains go

crazy, build, build something cool, and

then we say, we put it away and we go

back to making other hatchbacks and slow

cars.

>> The same Q7 in the hottest segment in

the world for 9 years.

>> What's the story with that? Can you

figure out something about that? Nope.

>> You got your little bike shirt on. You

>> that about the fact that they've sold

literally the same Audi Q7 for the last

9 years?

>> Explain this to me. The Volkswagen

group, uh, the Macan has been the same

since it came out. The Q7's been the

same. The Q5, these are the hottest cars

they had.

>> The Q5 got redesigned this year.

>> And instead, they're coming out with the

Q4 Sportback and stuff like that. And

the ID4 Yep. Sportback. Yep.

>> And the And the Sportback Sportback.

>> Maybe they should let their apprentices

hell. So, obviously, of course, we're

not going to uh get it.

gave us quite a few great notable

design. He gave us the SLR. He gave us

the AMG, the SLS AMG. He gave us the

AMG.

he gave us some questionable designs. He

gave us the EQE and the EQS which you

like and but the market doesn't.

>> I'm looking at this guy's wiki and he

did the W221. And so as far as I'm

concerned, he is a absolute master's

genius. He's the only great automotive

designer who's not Italian in the

history of

intend the governor's employment and do

not intend to further comment on

speculative stories.

that they did something very wrong from

an HR perspective and would be

next news story is people ranging out of

an Elantra.

Hyundai and Kia have reached a

settlement. So for all of co turns out

uh base model especially K and Hyundai

very easy to steal because they didn't

have immobilizers

>> and they went out on TikTok like how you

would steal it and it turns out that

literally any child can

>> pretty much uh they uh have reached a

settlement that will include Hyundai and

Kia offering to add an immobilizer and

kind of change the ignition system for

any model that is impacted.

Unfortunately all of those cars have

been stolen 10 to 20 times by now and

they don't exist anymore. The thing

about class actions is that, you know,

you just get into these situations where

the people don't actually get the money

that they deserve. Supposedly, they're

going to fix the cars, whatever. But

like, this is this was really uh

improper behavior from a corporation, to

be honest. Um,

this was clear that it was going on.

This is an obvious thing. This

immediately it was discovered. The cars

started getting stolen. Everybody's

Hyundai Kia got stolen. They couldn't

get insurance for them anymore. Hyundai

Kia dealers were sketch about, oh, we'll

just replace it and fix it and and it

fixes go right back into the world. Um,

this turned off a generation of people

from buying these cars. An enormous

number of people who bought Hyundai's

and Kia did so because they are uh easy

cars to get to work and they walk

outside and their car is gone because it

turns out you can steal it with a spoon

like a Honda from 1991.

>> Yep. I will say there's

>> you could whatever it didn't matter.

>> Yeah. Only fit for the base models

didn't have an immobilizer somehow. I

will say part of the settlement, all

future Hyundai Kia must have an

immobilizer, which I thought that was

true of all cars pretty much. Turns out

uh and also they might have to pay up to

$4.5 million of restitution to people

whose cars 4.5 million is nothing.

Nothing. They said they sold 9 million

cars nationwide.

>> Most of those were not in

>> No, it was 9 million eligible vehicles

were sold between 2011 and 22. They were

still selling these cars going into I

mean, come on. It started being reported

in 1819. They still sold for years later

after. Yeah. Everybody gets nothing

basically.

What's going to actually come out of

this is again a generation of people is

going to say I will never buy another

Hyundai and Kia.

>> My sister who has never owned a Hyundai

or Kia uh has said that she would not

she would now not buy a Hyundai as a

came out of the blue which is unusual.

I've definitely had people tell me that

and and and I have definitely

recommended these cars to people who

then had problems and uh

Toyotas and Hondas to people. You try.

You desperately try. You tell your

parents to get a Lincoln MKC.

>> And then they do get run over cuz they

press the wrong button

in the garage and the battery dies cuz

they don't understand all that. And if

they just had a RAV 4, that wouldn't

have happened.

than you expect. The interior is

comfortable. Are there things that they

got worse compared to the Mark 7? Sure,

the interior is a little bit less nice,

but it's such a good car.

when the GTI hate Mark 8 was going on,

it was first revealed. If you go back

and watch my video, I did not hate it. I

know.

>> They were actively wrong. Admitively

wrong. The tech isn't the best, but it's

my SL65 is currently in the shop getting

some stuff done. It's it's at its first

visit to the spa. So, I'm getting a

bunch of stuff done. I'll do a video on

but it's its first service, which makes

me nervous. Anytime you take a Mercedes,

like any any aging German vehicle when

it goes in for service is always like,

please, please, please, please. Um, but

nonetheless, I'm happy to get, you know,

done whatever needs to be done and then

it'll come back, then I'll be driving it

again. But so far the car has been

great.

>> You're doing drive belts. Couple

>> There are a couple Yeah. A couple known

things I have with the car. So one is

the the drive belts. The serpentine belt

was pretty cracked. It was very old.

>> You when you do that, I'm also going to

do the pulley cuz the bearings were out

over time. I don't have any record of it

having been done in the past and I have

most of the records. So doing that. Um

and then it's got the windshield washer

reservoir I know is leaking and so I'm

replacing that. So a couple of things

like that. So we'll certainly see. Um,

but we

>> You're replacing the the reservoir.

>> Yeah, ex turned out it was one of the

tubes. This is very common with the R230

chassis cuz my wagon is also leaked.

>> I'm not joking.

>> I Yeah, I don't suspect they changed the

design all that much.

>> Put a little bit of tape.

>> Well, I'm doing it as per the usual. I'm

doing it properly.

>> For the record,

>> so I don't We'll see what it how much

it'll be when it comes back. I also

learned we're going to do like

alignment. I'm going to have the wheel

bearings are adjustable on the R230,

which I don't know what that means or

how that works, but those are being

adjusted and realigned. So, um,

rid of it for a Viper.

what we called the Cayenne when I worked

92A, although Porsche Louise have named

it the 958 themselves. The 92A Cayenne,

which came out in 11, has proven itself

to me in my mind like that.

design that we loved so much, these

automakers just they felt that they

didn't have to shout. And to to an

extent, there are still some like that.

Audi is like that in my mind kind of

still, but BMW has so gone away from

that. And that's exactly what it is.

They're it's like they're like shout

they're backed into a corner and

shouting about how cool they have to be

perceived as,

that the brand equity is so high as it

is. Like it's an aspirational brand and

has been for a long time. So why do you

feel the need to continue to shout about

it? If anything, you should be even more

for us because we have said great things

about Harry and we have made fun of

Maserati.

the Levante Trofeo when it was new and

said it was actually a pretty damn good

car. It drives fantastically. It is the

all I actually thought all Levantes

drove pretty well, but they were

overpriced and that included the Tropho.

I presume he bought this for nothing.

over how inexpensive it was. And and

truly the Levante is a nice driving car

and the Tropheo was a legit situation.

in the video that he did um that he's

owned Maserati forever. In the '9s he

think once again, the man is brilliant.

Speaking of Harry, but Jaguar a couple

of years ago made a car with a big cat

was a a car you could buy as a person.

>> And uh these were sold to people, not

many of them because no one wanted it.

Uh but it was a Jaguar XE which is their

BMW 3 series competitor.

>> Good looking car. And it had it had it

had 590

horsepower, I think. Yeah, 592

horsepower. To this day, it's still

almost 100 horsepower above the current

M3 a decade later. Like, this was the

stupidest thing that ever existed. And

I've I've definitely talked about and

legitimately would consider buying one

of these. They only made 300 of them for

the world.

when private equity showed up, they were

people. And then what we realized is we

only I it only ever worked if it was

people I liked. And that's why Top Gear

was so successful. Those guys, although

they weren't personal friends

beforehand, they developed that rapport.

late ones are just so so so enjoyable to

drive and to use.

Enzo. There's usually in the corner over

there, there's like something weird. But

I'll tell you the weirdest one. The

fellow who I'm still in touch with him.

The fellow who owned the uh Roso Vic

Diablo 6.0 that I reviewed probably 10

years ago.

this, he still is a massive enthusiast

of the first generation Infiniti Q45.

Turan. I want to list, it's a good

question for you, Fippo. I want to list

my 1971 K5 Blazer, but since it's a

topless car, should I wait till spring

or just post it now? What are your

thoughts on selling convertibles in the

winter? What do you want to say? You're

trying to hit a revenue target for the

year. So, you're probably PUT PUT IT ON

THE SITE. GET HER UP. BUT I think

I think it depends a little bit on the

car specifics and where you live. Truly,

uh there is some upside to waiting till

things get a little bit warmer till

people like want are have the hor the

end of winter on the horizon. If you're

somewhere that's cold, there is some

value to that. But I think that that

happens sooner than you expect. That

does not mean wait till June. That means

wait till like February, March.

>> Yeah, I agree with that. I also think a

more dailyable convertible, you don't

necessarily have to wait like a 440i.

And also, you don't necessarily want to

wait if it's a heavily depreciating

convertible cuz I don't necessarily know

that the four like if it's November

>> and you want to wait till March. I don't

necessarily know that 5 months is going

to be a better situation if you're

trying to sell like a new 440i.

>> Certainly would not be a 2-year-old car,

you're going to probably lose about as

much depreciation as you'd gain with the

seasonality. A 71K5 Blazer in all

honesty, I would wait on that. I would

wait till the spring. That's a car.

Nobody wants to take out an old Blazer

in the winter. It's like it's all metal.

You hurt yourself on it like when you're

cold. You know what I'm saying?

>> I know exactly what you mean.

>> Yep. Uh I would wait I would wait till

the spring. Uh but I gen I wouldn't

necessarily on all cars.

>> There are some benefits if you if you

sell a convertible in the spring and

you're the only guy up with a nice, you

know, 987 Boxster Spider. Here in SoCal,

we don't distinguish. I mean, we've all

bought convertibles in the in the in the

cold months.

November.

>> I bought the Gwag in October, the

Porsche, the Courage in February. Like,

we do it here in California, so it's not

like that out of the realm, but uh but I

think you have a larger audience in the

spring for most convertibles.

haven't found anything. The LS400

why I thought this and I I haven't

gotten there yet, but I there's

something there. He's going to get

destroyed in the car.

>> Yeah, these two competitive companies

both trying to launch luxury brands at

the same time. We're like, "Hey,

something team up.

the tip, we've heard that Doug is not a

Porsche guy, not a Nissan guy, not a

Gwagon convertible guy. Boy, that's

true. Not a collector, not a classic car

guy, not a truck guy. What kind of guy

is Doug? A Sequoia guy. What else is

left?

>> He's the type of guy

>> I don't distinguish. The thing the thing

that I think makes people don't quite

understand about me is that I love all

cars. All car. Like I was thinking about

this earlier today. I cannot think of a

single brand whose car I have not either

owned or spent like three nights until

3:00 a.m. on Autotrader searching for

perfect examples of there's not a I've

owned if you look at my car history

which now has 37 38 cars that goes like

this. Volvo, Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota,

Ford, BMW, Lotus, Cadillac, Mercedes,

Porsche, Land Rover, Nissan.

Th I don't I don't This isn't I don't

I'm not I just love all and I think a

lot of people are uncomfortable about

that and try to put someone into a box

because they themselves are typically oh

I only like BMWs. Oh, I only like

trucks. I prefer Audi's whatever and

they're like shocked that someone I'm

like this with airlines too. I don't I

like Filipe will only fly his one aine.

>> I will fly whichever airline is cheapest

to get me the definition I want to go

to. Period. I do not care. I don't

discriminate. I don't I don't have a

type. I don't have a thing. I have

off-road trucks and convertible trucks

and crazy sports cars and I'll do it

all. And it just so happens that the

last car I bought happened to be a

Porsche that I wanted, but my list still

has other cars that aren't Porsches. And

I promise I will eventually sell that

Porsche, probably for a Supra. And then

I go into the Japanese realm. He's still

over trying to find

it on the site. Now he wasn't googling

anywhere else. Now he's finally ready to

Google us out there.

>> No. No. I swear. Anyway, that's the

answer. Filipo, do you agree? Yeah,

>> he has been paying attention this entire

to pick someone who I'd say is agnostic

to brand who's just an enthusiast of

point where in your life where you can

buy the dream stuff and so you have. But

you mean you've owned 37 cars before

that and they are they are so diverse

and there's just a smattering of

interesting.

>> I had a CTSV wagon, an 01 Prius, a H a

360 moda and a Hummer all in together.

>> I just don't I like what I like

everything. I like everything and I had

a Kia and I don't there's nothing that I

sit there and be like I wouldn't buy

that because of that brand. There are

certain cars I wouldn't buy because of

some of the connotations that the

particular car provides, including Yes.

Yes. Our friend behind me. Um,

but that's certainly not true about

brand. I really just am not. I'm into

everything. Trucks, cars, sports cars,

wagons, SUVs, all of it.
