Just happened to work out that I was in LA during a Radwood and I was like, I'd be weird

if I didn't show up.

How was that experience for you being not involved in the show, like planning?

Very strange.

You didn't have to do any work.

Did you?

Just showed up.

I didn't have to show up early.

I didn't have to set up anything.

No merch booth.

No nothing.

This is probably, I think probably your second time in that position because you did go to

the Cleveland show.

I went to Cleveland and I've been to Detroit and I went to North Carolina.

So I've done a few, but those were shorter and this is like LA.

Yeah.

It was a big one.

It was cool.

I mean, the vibe was definitely still there and the venue is great.

I know you guys have used that venue before, but that was my first time being in that venue

and having the indoor outdoor thing was neat and there was pretty good caliber of cars.

I mean, I'm jaded as they come.

I've seen everything now, but it was pretty good and the Batmobile like, come on.

That's cool.

I know.

There's like no chance that doesn't win Vest and Show if it's like anybody else with the

Peterson.

Yeah.

Radis by far.

So that was great to have you.

And also a bunch of other people like manual choreo and a lot of industry types that we

I think had also we had lost we not only we had lost, but we were up against SEMA last

two years.

Oh, sure.

And so if you're an LA car industry type, you're going to probably have to choose and

this year we were.

Yeah.

Cause it's like a month earlier.

Yeah.

So yeah.

It did feel weird to not be in December.

Oh, totally.

To not have reference.

For us too.

Yeah.

And then it had crept to like towards the end of December because at the beginning it

was like December.

It was my birthday.

So it was like December 30th and then at some point it was like December 18th and 20th

and stuff like that.

And now we're back.

We're back.

I know.

And Matt Farrow was back.

Yeah.

Like manual.

Like it felt very, I mean, I, from the outside looking in because I wasn't able to make it.

It felt.

It was good.

Very.

There was a moment where we had a homie, very kind of a big crew together with like Paul

Kramer and Jennifer there and then Sarah Trimble and Jeff and Lucker.

Yeah.

There was just like, you know, kind of felt like a little bit of a Ryan Mullen and yeah,

a good hang.

Yeah.

It was, it was definitely like, it was nice to get that, that feeling of like localized

celebrity again.

Yeah.

Like, you know everybody and everybody knows you.

Athena and Brad were there.

Yeah.

That was cool.

I mean, they're always there.

I didn't recognize them.

But they're great.

Cause they were like their costume was so committed this time.

Yeah.

With the whole good little soul patch.

Yeah.

That's been a theme for them.

Yeah.

For the last few years they go all out.

Yeah.

They usually do something as a, you know, as a couple and or with their friend and they

go all in.

Yeah.

They do a really good job.

And they finally won last Radwood last year.

Yeah.

This one was, it was a challenge because we had two very, very, very good ones.

You know, the guy who won, you know, we can throw it out there real quick.

He was like full on Wall Street get up.

Oh, I saw him.

It was from like, it was all original gear that he wore in period, including his like

laptop, his phone, like as he announced on stage down to the underwear, he rocked

his original gear and like his, his eye glasses, reading glasses were from 1994.

He said, and I saw a picture of him somewhere and he was making a very good face.

He was in character the whole time on a phone call.

I'm trying to give him the award and I felt bad for Sarah though.

Sarah Trimble.

Oh, her was just so good.

It was rainbow bright to riding a horse.

Yeah.

I mean, she put a lot of effort into it and I felt pretty bad.

I think she was pretty bummed, but she was, but I also think it was fair.

The other guy got a huge round of applause.

I know.

And, you know, I think there's also an angle I was talking to art about this is that sometimes

like the little kitty stuff doesn't play as well to the crowd as like the more mature

choice.

So like that Wall Street choice is just more and also an older guy doing it.

It seems like Sarah was good last year too.

She heard Garth.

She was Garth and she was like, no sponsors Garth.

You know, like all rebocked out.

Yeah.

I know our photo goes as the photos.

He's got some really good pictures of her.

So we'll definitely give her a huge shout out because she always, you know, goes all

in and this one in particular, I mean, like it was just so involving.

You know, she was, it was like a little, it was like a little pedal horse, but the pedals

were hidden and it looked like it would gallop as she would pedal.

Like it was like almost like, I don't know how you describe it.

Like it was like cantilevered, right?

Like the pedals weren't like regular pedals.

And so it was like, it looked like it was effort just to pedal and she was fully dressed up

and she had contact lenses.

Wow.

She went all in.

Our third time at Port of LA, huge show.

We did have the Batmobile there and I have one story.

By the way, tons of exotics this year that like,

I feel like the last couple of years were lacking.

Yeah.

We had a ton of skylines.

You know, Lamborghini 50th or 20th, whatever.

Mario Andretti's Old Countach.

Oh, yeah.

Oh, that's cool.

We had multiple Testarosa's, EB 110 from the Peterson,

959 from the founder of Pelican Parts.

Black one.

Just happened to be next door and said, I could come over and nice.

Warren, did you see when he rolled in?

Jesus Christ.

No, I wasn't.

I wasn't around.

Remember, I thought it was a Peterson car because I was.

Oh, okay.

Yeah.

So I parked him as he came in and he has.

So it was Wayne Dempsey, right?

Wayne Dempsey.

He had his huge like 95 pound Labradoodle looking dog.

No way.

Seating directly on the seat with no cover.

Yes.

And I told him, I'm like, and I've talked to Elaine about this

before I think like my, I have a dream like to take Remy and my F

355 just on Cabrillo down by the water and how do the exact same

thing and be like, Oh my God, you let your dog sit in your Ferrari.

And I'll be like, yeah, this is his car.

And that's what he told me.

I'm like, I'm like, this is so awesome.

I love this.

And he's like, yeah, this is his car.

You know, and that's, that's exactly the vibe that I would,

that I would roll with.

So good.

There's a classic story, a character in Italy that drives daily

drives a 250 GTO and has his, I think it's a Bernie's mountain dog

or similar shotgun every day.

Yeah.

Jeff's work does the same.

Yeah.

He's got usually two Bernie's mountain dogs and all of us are in his

cars.

Same way that Marcus from that owns like Sonoma and all those raceways.

Yeah.

He remember I was telling you his dog car because he was showing

me pictures of his dog car and it was a roof 993 turbo s in like dark

green.

And then who let the dogs?

It was Baja boys.

It was his first time he could like come to an event and drive and walk

He did have his scooter, which I didn't have to park for Radwood,

but he's killing it.

We went up, we went up to Angela's crest for, for good vibes

breakfast club and he's usually there.

I was hoping to see him there and everybody's like, oh, Paul hasn't

been in a while because, you know, this hip and whatever.

And he showed up in the Jag and he's like, this is the first one

that I've been to.

I was like, oh man, it's great that I was able to be here.

So he was the first one.

He drove himself too.

And I was like, I just saw he on his, on the WhatsApp group that

I'm part of with him.

He just announced yesterday that he can drive a manual now.

Whoa.

That was the night 28, right?

That he drove to Radwood.

No, that's a automatic.

Oh, it is.

Oh, so I, I'm terrible friend.

I saw it pop up and I'm like, yeah, I know you came to Radwood.

So I didn't even acknowledge it.

He's really far along though.

That's awesome.

He's so crazy quick recovery.

He's like, I love the motivation and like, and I think it's a lot

of the stuff is mindset, right?

Like, and you know, some people are just like, like, he's just like,

on it.

The air compressor keeps going off here at beeline and it's usually

like once a week, it'll go on.

This is someone's just waited, waited for you to start recording.

I feel like Jason Lee and Mallrath where he's like, what was it?

Quick story.

We were doing the awards ceremony, getting people to come over.

You know, hey, words are about to start.

Come on over to the DJ booth.

That kind of thing.

There was my boy DJ DP ones and twos.

Was he on the fade?

Was he on the fades?

Not as faded.

He was telling me that story.

Dude.

I know everything was smooth.

Thank God.

But so we're getting everyone there.

Finally it's time.

I'm like, oh, let's get this going.

And we didn't have much time.

There's a lot of awards.

We have like sponsor awards.

And I, you know, just like, let's get the show on the road.

And I go, all right, for our first award, boom, all power goes

out, everything out.

Generator ran out of gas at that exact second.

You needed me there.

Funny story.

I'd yell really loud.

Oh, right.

Right.

I would just whisper in your ear and then you'd yell.

Funny story.

I started that generator.

Oh yeah.

And he goes, so it'll just run until it runs out of gas.

And I was like, yep.

And it did.

Without any warnings or anything.

Luckily Honda had a generator just right next door.

And I stole it.

It deflated their motorcycle blow up thing.

That's okay.

Plugged our stuff right in, set it all back up and good to go.

Save by Honda.

Gives me flashbacks to Austin.

Oh yeah.

I remember I rattled the oil, the oil cap loose, the drain plug.

And then when that thing, when it runs out of oil, has a fail

safe and it turns off the generator, but this is like,

basically right into the show.

And we're looking for oil and we got it from someone's car.

And it was like a whole, you know, oh my God.

Yeah.

I forgot about that.

We got stories.

We are definitely three travel and stories and such.

So anyways, the, everything else went off without a hitch.

We were all in and all out.

Yeah.

It was some of these people that, you know, a lot of the industry folks,

like, you know, we invited and we knew they were coming,

but there were also a bunch of surprises.

Like the car shrink, Brian creed and I'm sure you know him, Brad.

Oh dude.

And by the way, he was another one where I was like, dude,

he's like, I don't remember him since like the first LA show.

Or maybe, maybe Peterson.

Yeah.

And he's been to like several of our shows,

but I've never met him in like in person.

I've never actually interacted with him and he's like sent cars.

I've coordinated with him and LBI to get cars,

some motor looks like, you know, like those that M one, like,

you know, he was the one who knew they had it,

like before they even brought it out.

And it's just, it's funny how in this space,

like you can be Instagram and like text buddies with people in the

industry for years and not meet them.

Like when Woodward, I interacted with her for years,

didn't meet her till like that until we had the,

remember when we debuted, we had the R movie,

our film for the rally movie.

Yeah.

Ahead of Lufka Colt.

That was the first time I actually met her in person.

Same with like, you know, Gluckr and a few of these other characters,

but like him in particular, I just until very recently at car week,

we were coordinating on some car shit and getting his cars to motor lux.

And he finally like, he was good.

He made an effort.

He's like, dude, I'm going to find your ass and we're going to meet

up with him for a little bit.

But yeah, it's, it's crazy.

Yeah.

Lynn was there.

Aaron Robinson.

Oh yeah.

I saw Aaron post a bunch.

Mark Vaughn did an interview for auto week with him and he's still,

they're still going.

So it's good.

Good to see people out there out and about boot.

Anything you want to add on SoCal art?

No, I think I mentioned this earlier on a call that you and I were on,

but this was my favorite show we've had outside of the first one.

The first one was really special.

You know, it was like, it was kind of like when everything,

like we saw that we had really struck a nerve, right?

And like, all right, this is, this is about to blow up and who was there.

We got an automobile magazine because of that.

And you know, it was, it was a really.

So you're talking LA show specifically or SoCal show?

LA show specifically or SoCal shows.

Yeah.

But the first one was a really big deal, right?

And that one is like special in its own way,

but out of all the other ones we've done, like I really enjoyed this show.

Like just cause the way from an operational standpoint, like, you know,

we just, we were just on it and we were, you know,

we were like a super whale, well-oiled machine at this point.

And not that we haven't been before, but also just like the placement,

all of our car placement was really solid.

We had really good cars and like we had great partners and the vibe was really,

really great.

Like it was so laid back and really fun.

The food was good.

Like the lines weren't super long.

Like everything was like just pumping.

Generators were working.

Well, that was the one thing, right?

And it's the standout thing for you.

See, so that's why I know last year.

Yeah.

And something like that, you know, we just go into action.

We just, we get it sorted and we just continue.

And it's like, it's not like a, oh my gosh,

I'm going to panic and lose my mind.

It's like, you just, you just fix it and move on.

And everybody was pretty chill.

No one was freaking out.

Like we had a huge crowd already at the stage.

He made this like crazy V8 Quattro

that I guess is pop famous on YouTube,

like YouTube because it does this launch.

It's like this famous car.

And like chef Malone was like,

he's like, oh, you're that guy.

You know, kind of thing.

So and he's taking all his knowledge,

you learn from that and putting it into this probe

to see if it can actually be a good decent car.

I love the chef Malone.

So it should be too bad.

So Lane went to Japan.

I did two weeks in Japan.

I can say I got the most with the best of them.

I spent the first week on the round cat rally

or essentially the first week.

Give us a quick rundown.

How many cars?

I saw pictures.

It looked like 10, 12.

It's about 12 cars.

All all K cars.

I want to say, oh, besides the Honda element,

that orange element,

which is like the raddest,

like especially in Japan,

the element looks huge.

Yeah.

And that thing is so done up.

And it's this guy hero,

hero son.

He's a,

he's a photographer,

automotive photographer.

And I think any,

I think he owns a car magazine.

They used to shoot for,

or maybe he still does,

but what's that magazine?

Are you know the magazine,

the Japanese magazine,

Motorhead.

So he was a,

he shot for Motorhead and stuff.

And,

but that's like his car.

That's all he has,

right?

At least right now.

So yeah,

like, so he went to Fuji Speedway

to some like car show recently.

I'm like, oh, where'd you bring?

He's like, I brought the element.

Is it like a standout car in Japan?

I think so.

And his is so done up

And he has all the lighting

and stuff.

six days of

driving throughout

Northern Japan,

basically

north of

Tokyo.

It looks like

it was it was wet

most of the rally

or was that just

you just took a bunch of

pictures on that.

the first couple

days.

How did that impact it?

I would say not at all.

Yeah.

I mean,

the cars like sliding

like 80 horsepower

at the most,

you know,

and then

yeah,

their front wheel drive

jackets and umbrellas

and jackets and umbrellas

and it was it was never

raining like

the first

day we got to

Niko

which is two hours

north of Tokyo.

That's like

that was the meeting spot

and then we did this

like

hill climb up to this

dam

which was

probably my favorite road

of the whole rally actually

sweet one way

two lane up a hill.

Yeah.

So sick.

Um,

perfectly smooth

like,

you know,

deliver the tofu

real fast on this one.

And then it's like

buses in the way.

So it was like

you're playing

like an 80s

video game and stuff.

You're just

going throughout the

buses.

Yeah.

It was kind of perfect,

but that day

it was actually like

pouring rain,

but it made it

pretty fun.

That's

yeah.

And uh,

but yeah,

the rest of the trip was

um,

in Tokyo,

the first couple of days

we were there was actually

pretty warm.

Uh,

and then it was

it was pretty chilly

up north.

Um,

but it was

it was like,

it was pretty nice

overall.

Do you remember

the names of the towns

you were around?

Sure.

Okay.

Uh,

we did.

So I did,

we spent three nights in

Sendai,

which is a big city

in northern Japan.

Sendai is right.

It's around the size

of San Jose.

It's like a million people.

It feels very

San Jose-ish,

but way cooler than San

Jose because

it's not a high bar.

Um,

yeah,

but it has us,

it has a San Jose

like big hotel

kind of thing

and like

kind of conference

kind of stuff.

But,

but it has like

way cooler

alleys

and stuff to go down

and tons of restaurants

and shopping

and stuff like that.

But you went,

so you went to Teriyaki.

You went to California

Roll and to,

uh,

sushi rice.

Those are the three

other cities you went to, right?

Yeah, exactly.

Um,

I don't know

if we're getting too far

ahead of ourselves here

because I know this is

technically post rally,

but you did

ask,

uh,

for a recommendation

for that one spot,

the burger place.

Did you end up going?

I did.

of the actual burgers.

I ate it really fast.

How was it?

that was great.

It was actually good.

with jalapenos on it.

in Japan of like these,

And it's at this old school house

and it's in the middle of nowhere dude.

Like we're talking like we're going through these

little farm towns that are like hardly towns.

It's just a bunch of houses on the side of the road.

And there's like maybe a little like market or something.

And there's this one school house.

And it was closed.

I think that's a thing in Japan too.

Like places are just sometimes not open.

So it was closed.

So we go down the road a little bit.

And this wasn't even,

and there's like a couple of houses.

And there was this little,

there's this little place,

Japanese restaurant.

This older couple is there.

Little room with three tables in it.

Best like such good Roman dude.

Like insane ramen.

The dude's the one guy making it.

His wife's like bringing water.

They don't even sell drinks there.

They have tea.

Like it's like so old school.

The sweet old couple lives, you know,

and we went there.

It was amazing.

on the side, like stand on the side.

Like there's always those little places that are totally.

That's where the best food is.

Avoid the chain and you'll have a better experience.

And Japan's an interesting place too.

Even in Tokyo,

there's like rents are so cheap on these places

or they own the places or whatever.

They can get by on that.

like we probably gave them more customers that day

because there was like 25 of us.

Then they would have all week.

And then there was this one guy,

He's like that kind of guy where he's like staging and stuff like that.

So that was cool.

it was just cool group of people for sure.

and then my family came out and we spent five days in Tokyo,

um,

and said,

where were we?

Basically it's like adjacent to Shibuya.

Um,

so we were in this rad pretty awesome little neighborhood and like

killer house and our,

like right off the main strip,

like that would walk you to Shibuya,

which we walked to several times.

It's like a 40 minute walk,

but, um,

uh,

it was like a nice little neighborhood and like there was a E 63 wagon right across the street and then two portion of cons at the house,

the other house.

And you know, there was like,

it was kind of a nice little nice neighborhood for sure.

That's a nice suburb,

like a little suburb.

And it's,

it's definitely,

um, you know,

a spot where you see something like that.

I know no bullshit.

I was in a cab driving through there on the most recent trip that I was in.

I don't know if I told you about this warrant and,

um,

I saw a W 124 with an E 60 badge,

which is like that's a,

that's a legitimate pre-merger AMG car.

And I was out my phone and it was gone.

I almost told the cab driver to go around the block.

I had my mother-in-law in the car.

I was like, I don't want to make a big scene, you know,

but it was, it was, um, right around there.

Well, like one block from our house we were staying in was a,

or two blocks was a seven 11 on that main street,

whatever that street is that goes all the way to Shabuya.

It's like two lanes each way with a center divider and everything.

It's a, it's the big street, big road there.

Um,

but there was a seven 11 right there and you would just go to that seven 11.

And you know,

people just pull off on the side of the road as long as someone's in the car.

It's cool.

And they put their flashers on.

Like if you just stood at that seven 11 for a while,

like you would just see rad cars stopping there to run into seven 11.

So like, uh, old NSX nine 11 cab, you know, brand new nine nine two,

uh, brand new Corvette, which is rare to see there.

Uh, that's a choice.

That like Nova wagon thing I posted a picture of, I think it was an,

I missed that some old,

but it was a lady driving it like a 60, like a Japanese lady,

but it was like a sixties wagon. Um,

just so much cool stuff on that street too, because that's a,

a main street and people were kind of commuting home and you know,

like every other car is a G wagon, but, um, yeah,

there's a couple of those.

There's like two other streets at last, last time you went out there,

I recommended one of them.

It's, it's omotesando.

The one that goes through Meiji Jingu, like right,

we're kind of where you were with the burger place and it goes the other

direction towards the bottom of the hill.

And there's these pedestrian bridges that you can stand on and you get all,

all kinds of cool shit through there.

And then the other neighborhood is Aoyama and Aoyama is like close to,

especially close to where the Honda showroom is.

They always have cool shit there.

And that road is just like,

there's car spotters who sit there and just like shoot all this cool shit all the

time.

AMG, Alpina, you know, Radwater stuff, you're going to see there.

Um, I mean, yeah, Japan, especially Tokyo, like is, you know,

I wouldn't say unrivaled, but it's one of the top, like, you know,

car spotting destinations in the world. If you know where to be.

Yeah.

And you see the really awful stuff too. Like in Ginza, I saw Mansory,

Lamborghini, SCV, you know, stuff like that.

And, uh, yeah.

The mobsters going nuts with that shit or the suit, all the rhinestone stuff

and weird over the top Goddy stuff. Um, yeah, there's a,

so we're Dino for, you know, formerly of speed hunters Dino sits in this

little neighborhood where it's, um, it's a Sega Fredo, like the, the old cop,

you know, the Italian coffee shop and it's a little alleyway.

And so it's sort of like, just imagine like an arch and the,

the table that he sits on is right at the apex of that turn.

Just imagine an arch that goes around the building.

It's a round building.

And so you see the cars like right in front of you, like they come,

it's not great for photos, but they pass like within three feet from you.

And so like,

I would sit with them there when I would visit and all day long dude,

just like whatever you can think of, like including some of this gnarly,

you know, like over the top over Rod stuff, but yeah,

there's so many cool little spots like that.

It's cool.

It's great.

Japan does car culture better than almost anywhere else.

It's like right below West Cliff for car spotting.

I could sit almost anywhere and see like rad cars go by like in Shibuya,

The amount of like motorcycles going through there was pretty insane.

of like, but way more just the motorcycle scene was like crazy.

I've been on two wheels for a long time.

Obviously, when I was a kid, I rode a lot off-road.

Kind of went away from it for a long time.

And then when I was at Jalopnik the first time,

we had our motorcycle guy injure his hand in a way

that he couldn't pull a clutch anymore.

So we didn't have a motorcycle guy.

So they started asking like,

who are we going to send on these motorcycle press trips?

And I was like, I'll get my motorcycle license for this.

Why not?

Is that the Ender?

Yeah.

And I went to Bonneville with Indian,

like probably 2018 or 2019 was the first time.

And I kind of got hooked then and they sent me a press loaner.

My first press loan bike was a thousand pound Indian.

And so like my previous street experience

was my little 50 CC Honda.

But I had had plenty of off-road experiences.

You're going to like the opposite end of the spectrum,

the total opposite end.

And they were like, yeah,

here we'll drop off this road master and just ride it to Seattle.

Of course it's called a road master.

What else would it be?

So I rode from Reno to Seattle on this bike

that was literally 950 pounds that I've never ridden before.

And I was like, yeah, let's go.

And so ever since then I've been.

It'll be fine.

So I've been hooked on motorcycles and I love electric

and I love hybrid and I love, you know,

all the tech that we're doing.

I'm a very tech heavy guy.

Are there hybrid motorcycles?

There are.

I've actually tested one for Jalopnik.

It's rad Kawasaki built one.

It's a little half baked.

Shocking.

A little bit.

Could never see that coming.

But yeah, it was a ninja.

Ninja seven hybrid, I think is what they call it.

And it's really, really well built,

but like it's a little heavy.

The wheelbase is a little too long.

Like I wrote it on some pretty gnarly, like twisty roads.

And it's fast as all get out.

Like you can, you can do like over boost with the hybrid

and like zoom away.

So they say that it's like the efficiency of a 250,

but the speed of a liter bike,

which is kind of what it delivers.

Torque fills basically.

So it was fun, but it was also like not quite there.

It needed another couple of years of development.

Interesting.

Have you ridden a turbo bike?

Like an old 80s or 90s turbo bike?

I have.

Talk about something that could use some torque fill like that.

This is the opposite, right?

Like I was wondering like if you were going to say

that the transition is like where it's gnarly,

but it sounds like it's, it's pretty,

and that's probably seamless, right?

Whereas the old bikes, there's lag like crazy, right?

Yeah.

It's relatively well integrated.

The, the issue is when you're in electric mode,

you can't switch from electric to hybrid on the fly

and it runs out at 45 miles an hour on a full electric.

So like every once in a while,

I would go to merge onto the highway and I'd be in EV mode

and I would hit 45 and it'd be like flashing at me.

So I have to pull off the side of the road,

switch into hybrid and then go again.

So it was a little bit like, yeah,

a little not fully big.

Feels like software shit though, like pretty minor,

but then you said the wheelbase too long.

It's a little heavy, a little long, but I mean,

it was, it was a good riding experience,

but not quite right there, but electric,

I think I enjoy for, especially for around town stuff.

It's probably the perfect bike for most people who ride.

You know, you'll have a lot of people who like GS people

and Harley people and stuff and they're like,

well, if I can't do a thousand miles in a day, I don't want it.

Which electric is not there yet.

And I'm not sure it ever will be just because of the form factor

and like the size and everything.

But around town stuff.

But around town stuff, like our bikes,

you can, it's 5.5 kilowatt hours.

You can fill it up for a dollar of electricity

and theoretically, depending on how you ride,

you could ride it all week on a dollar.

So how many miles?

Up to 120 city range.

Yeah.

That's a lot.

It is a lot.

It's the most in our class.

Like there's nothing that can go farther than us,

even at like a super higher.

What does your Harley do?

My Harley will theoretically do about the same.

And that was 30 grand, five years ago.

And ours, our bikes start at, well,

for that amount of range, they start at 10.

And the lower range bikes start at seven.

And I heard you earlier, you were talking about it's like 23 horsepower

and 230 pound feet of torque.

It'll do zero to 30 in one second

and zero to 60 in about five.

It's quick.

It's fast.

It's nimble because it's super lightweight.

What's lightweight?

198 pounds for the small battery.

So almost everything that we're competing against

is over 100 pounds heavier than us.

And we're like, we're minimalist for a couple of reasons.

One, because we like the look of the minimalist style

of the motorcycle, but also just because it makes it

lighter, less expensive, easier to maintain.

There's a bunch of reasons around it.

So, yeah, having 198 pound bike for a beginner rider

is like way easier than like,

like when I got on a 950 pound India,

that was pretty gnarly.

Like I was worried about it.

Aside from my, it'll be fine attitude.

We, the company started in 2020.

So we've been producing bikes for about two and a half ish years.

The first like year was kind of like hand built hand assembled

stuff.

Where do you say most of them are in Cleveland?

Yeah.

I mean, our biggest sales are to California actually.

We sell a lot of bikes to South Florida.

And then you got the sprinter van.

And then what's your, what's your path look like on your trip?

So we started at overland expo in Virginia.

And then it was, it was a lot of fun.

I wanted to go to that.

I've been to a couple.

There are a lot of fun.

Um, the vibes are interesting.

It's interesting cause we went to one in Denver.

That had super different vibes from the one in North Carolina.

That has super different vibes from the one out west.

Cause like the, where you can use your stuff and,

and how far off road you can go.

Um, and then we camped at that for four days with the bikes

and we were doing demo ride.

We did 350 demo rides.

So we, it's, you know, about getting butts in seats and getting

people to test them out and try them out.

Um, and then we went to Austin city limits and we did demo rides in

Austin.

Oh yeah.

So, um, we were actually camped out for our demos at Mellow Johnny's,

um, which is, um, oh God.

I've, the bicycle guy, the really good bicycle guy,

really good bicycle.

It's a friend of mine and did some stuff with, uh, some

bike customizers there and some dealers and things.

And then came to LA and did some riding with some people and went

to events and went to Radwood and then coming up here.

And then we're going to go over to Reno.

We're doing test rides at send cut send.

Oh, wow.

Um, then I'm going to go to Salt Lake city to visit, uh, Jonathan

Klein.

He's the editor in chief of ride apart.

We're going to do some riding over there.

Then go down to SEMA where we're launching some new products and

then Dallas for electrify expo and then back home.

Nice.

I kind of like this though.

This is sort of a, uh, it's good.

It's like, you know, the national tour getting out there.

And like now's a bad time to be in Ohio anyway.

It's like 50 degrees and cold and rain and everything.

So I mean, who doesn't want to be peeing in a jar in a van?

It's like a very grassroots way to do it.

I mean introducing people to the bikes, getting butts in seats,

uh, working deals, developing, you know, all kinds of stuff.

How are you charging on the road?

I do have an inverter in the van.

Um, and it does work.

But for the most part it's hotels.

I bring a couple of batteries into the, okay.

The batteries are removable.

Oh, that makes it really nice.

Totally.

You can have a backup.

So you can just charge them.

You can charge them in a 110.

Regular 110 outlet.

Or you have an extra underscore.

Dude, that's pretty sick.

So the bikes only charge on 110.

They don't do fast charge or anything.

So it's just regular wall outlet, five or 10 amp service.

You don't need to upgrade anything.

You don't need to change anything.

Yeah.

Um, and, uh, the small battery will charge in about two hours

and large battery charges in about five.

And how much are extra batteries?

Uh, actually right now we're running a program where a small,

you can get extra small battery for 500 bucks.

Cool.

Cause that's like, that's a pretty,

that's a cool hack right there.

And how big is the battery like physically?

Uh, it's the small ones are about 30 pounds.

Okay.

So they're not too bad.

It's about size of car battery.

Yeah.

It's taller than that.

But yeah, about the same displacement,

but a little taller.

And so theoretically you can like carry it on the bike somewhere.

If you want it, if you want, if you have two small batteries,

they can go on the bike together because they're the same size

and space as a one large bag.

So we have a 2.2 kilowatt hour battery and a 5.5.

Gotcha.

So the 5.5 takes up the whole battery box and the 2.2 is half.

Um, and the 2.2 will do about 50 ish miles on a charge in the city.

And then the 5.5 will do 120.

Gotcha.

Um, but yeah, so theoretically you could take two of the 2.2s with you

and just swap them when one dies out.

And these things are pretty small.

They're like, they're more like seven, eight size motorcycle size.

Yeah.

They're like more like Ceron or whatever.

Yeah.

But I think the differentiator is that it's street legal.

Like ours are fully street legal.

They're highway legal.

They go 75 miles an hour.

Um, let's just say top, the top number one destination, if you could choose to do a rally

somewhere, uh, not in the US, where would it be?

Oh, right now I have Japan on my mind because I was just there and I think it would be good

to do a DWA rally over there.

My number one is Mexico, but it is not possible at this current junction.

But, um, yeah, I mean, it is possible.

They do the, the Carrera there.

And I mean, it's just, it's, you just have to be in cahoots with the right people.

It's kind of the key thing, you know?

Um, yeah, I don't want to have to be in cahoots with people that go drive around.

Yeah.

Those one dudes do the other rally down there too.

Yeah.

There's, I mean, people do it.

Slow Baja was just,

I'm not saying you can't do it, but the places that I want to go to are, are like, uh,

Mitchell O'Conn and, um, some of the deep like mountain terrains.

And so it's like a lot of sensationalism.

I will be, I'm not afraid of it to go like by myself and take precautions, but to go

with like 50 people in cars and pull up to spots and hotels.

Like, cause if you're just like an isolated tourist with like a fancy car, like you can

get taken advantage of, but if you're a group of people, like it's, it's not, I don't know.

I just meant like by myself, like on vacation in a land rally, right?

I would want to do, I would want to go north up into Scotland and then crossover, like

along the left side of the country and then into Wales.

I feel like there's a lot of really epic stuff out there.

And also just from like a car culture standpoint, I feel like we can incorporate a lot of good

stops, right?

Like visiting people, like shops and, you know, museums and tracks and all that.

There's just so much history there for like automotive.

There's so many good like shops and resto mod places going on and stuff like that.

They're like, no, quite a few of them.

So it's just a matter of connecting the dots.

I'm apparently doing one in Canada next year.

That's not Radwood.

But, um, well, yeah, that was, that was what inspired different

events.

Which would be more like a, uh, goodwood style for the peak

of herst castle, like 20s and 30s.

Um, yeah.

But I mean, you'd have modern stuff just like goodwood does,

but that was like the, uh, the idea there is yeah,

the Hearst heritage, which still may happen someday.

We'll see if I can get the right people in the room.

But, uh, mine would be, I mean, you're asking for my dream,

right?

Disneyland is you'd have like different experiences in

different worlds, uh, based, based on the cars.

Like, like the Lufka Colt that was at.

I mean, that's an amazing venue, uh, the universal studios

backlight.

I think like all the futuristic stuff, Deloreans and things

little Gymkhana motor sporty thing.

And then on the other side, it's the beach.

I, every time I pass by the redondo beach power plant that's

supposed to be decommissioned, like every 20 minutes, they've

been talking about it.

And again, it's right on the beach and like just the photos and

the curation that you can do in there.

I feel like it would be really awesome, but, um, that would be
