late models
"So this is a high level look at what late models are. We're doing what are called pro late models, and I'm learning this as I go."

To “clear” someone means you finish passing them and get fully in front. Until you’re clear, they can still fight you for position.
In racing, “to clear” means to complete a pass so you’re fully ahead of another car. It’s not just being alongside—clearing is the moment you have track position and the other driver can’t easily block you back.
washed up the track
"The guy saved it, but washed up the track doing it. This all happened just in the, you know, a snap of the fingers."
“Washed up the track” means the car slid sideways toward the outside. That can be dangerous because other drivers may not expect it.
“Washed up the track” describes a car sliding toward the outside of the racing surface due to loss of grip. It often happens after a save from a spin and can create sudden hazards for nearby cars.
legend's car
