open wheel
Open wheel cars have their wheels outside the car’s body, which makes them faster and more agile on race tracks.
Open wheel refers to race cars whose wheels are positioned outside the main body of the vehicle, as opposed to enclosed-wheel road cars. This design reduces aerodynamic drag and improves handling at high speeds.
