There's a professional way to do it, don't you? There would be a front-wheel drive. You got anyone you want to think? Just myself. And now it do the off-road, it's dead, dead, dead. General, what would you go for? I see it's in there, it's in there. Okay, because it's not as safe with that. What do you do?
It's not.
Automotive perfection comes in the form of two letters, A and U.
Long live my LTD.
Welcome to Car Talk, it's Shuzuna here tonight for 9 North West FM. It's me, Madi J, in the studio with Mr. Chad DeBel. How you doing?
Hello. On the line with Mr. David Prince.
Hello. Hello.
It's happening. They'd like your answering a phone.
Hello.
Quite literally. And we're also joining the other studio of 9 North West FM. Hello, Alan deep.
Hello. Hello, fellas. I've given the show. Who it is. Let's get given the shocker.
Hello, Jens, good to see you all.
Yo, yo. Good to be seen. Good to be seen. That is some glad you're good to be seen. David Prince, you are off to the to the wetlands on on.
The place is always predominantly cold and rainy, but the U.K.
So, well, it's the last time we get to see him in Australia for a good month, I'd say.
Yeah, about that. Yeah, so I'll be back.
Yeah, we'll be absolutely rusty European Japanese car spam.
Yes, absolutely. All the, all the holes in accord, euros, floor panels.
But how are you, Jens? Yeah, good. Yeah, good.
I'll give you a different background tonight. Yeah, I know. Where's David?
It's a bit playing.
Minimalist. Minimalist. I just looked for myself. Where am I happiest in my bed? So what? Why leave?
This is true. It's a very good. I've been out of it today, but I thought, you know, no, you haven't just been out of it.
He is wearing a shirt. He actually is on the way underneath.
I got shorts on. You're wearing the same sort of a shirt.
We didn't get the memo seriously. Yeah. On down. Let's talk about stuff.
Let's talk about stuff. Well, it's good to see you guys. Let's do some car updates.
First and foremost, David Prince updates with you.
Oh, picking things up, putting things away, dropping things off.
Yeah, I could do that it actually.
I did a bit of a run in the end one the other night. I did my...
We've all heard of the Melburgring, which is out through Warburden across Reifton and...
The Melburgring. I haven't actually heard that term.
Oh, the Melburgring, haven't you? Melburgring. No, it's a great drive.
It's quite a bit longer than the Melburgring.
But I'm the Melburgring that takes in a bit of windy, fun bit of road and out through
sort of Ringwarden, Warren Diet and stuff and then cutting back around.
I find that gives cars a good sort of 45-minute run up to an hour sort of thing,
depending on traffic. Charge the battery bit of freeway work, bit of sixth gear.
And yeah, so I had a bit of a go in that before putting away for a few weeks.
I picked up the Grand Prix today. They've just...
How are we going to the Grand Prix? Is that all better?
It's much, much better. So it will roll now when you...
With no handbrake, which is a good thing.
Well, it's you with it.
Well, they were quite... They just adjusted everything again.
And I said, this seems like more than just an adjustment.
I know, I know. Anyway, we've just got to use it and drive it.
But it's... One of my boys is going to be doing that while I'm away.
Went trawling for some scampy spare parts through the garage over the weekend with number two.
And who's doing an N360 restoration, which is going to be spectacular,
when it's not, let's say, it's looking incredible.
But yeah, he said, I do want to these. I think I do have one of those.
Run me, run me, run me. Oh, here's one. And breath.
So it's always good to go through that.
I've lucky enough that I've got a compactus in my garage,
which actually is compactus full of scamparts, which is great.
So as scamp owners know, they really need parts.
So there's only about three moving parts.
And so if you have spare parts, spare scamparts,
you usually hang on to them for a long time.
Absolutely.
But it's nice to be able to put something into use.
Absolutely.
That's good.
But two other important bits of information.
Matchbox of released an FL5 Type-R Civic in Racing Blue.
I'd bought two today.
Right.
Okay.
Yeah.
I've been too arrogant.
See, see, the next part, David was going to say,
they're sold out everywhere.
That's right.
I mean, I've been to six more words this week trying to find out.
I got, I bought two today.
Wow.
They're in the boot of my car.
There were the glass and parts.
More importantly, what's it?
Yeah.
What else is in the box?
Because I did find a box today and it actually had like a two CV
and a white Mazda RX8.
It's a league of GT4.
Yeah.
I bought one of those as well.
Yeah.
Okay.
Or I haven't found that box yet.
Okay.
Right.
That annoys me.
Okay.
Come to Glaston Park.
Yeah.
Always a good spot.
Those, servos.
Servos, yeah.
Yeah.
Coles express what used to be Coles express.
Servos.
They usually have a box of them and.
I mean, kids aren't really going in there and.
They're kind of like.
I overlooked, I think.
There are a lot of boy kids, but people like Matt, you know, they're there.
Well, can I help you?
There's only so many mats.
Thank you.
I'm guessing I don't go to Coles express in Glaston Park.
Because they've been rummaged through already.
So.
I'm pushing kids out of the way.
In Woolworth.
That's what I do.
Yeah.
He's there.
You look bad.
What about a creepy old gray head man going through the box and leaving them.
Well, I always say it's for it's for my, it's for you, my nephew Jimmy.
When I get, uh, when I get asked, there was, you know, grandchildren now.
I can set it.
Great.
You can.
Thank you.
Fantastic.
Okay.
I'm getting used to this game.
So, you know, I'm still still trying to work out the hacks.
Well, I don't know.
It is a good.
It's the best idea, David.
Because I used to get asked that came out.
I used to go.
I used to go.
When they used to do it for a dollar.
The hot was for a dollar.
I used to clean up.
It was bad.
And I used to clean up.
It was bad.
And, um, and he's like, she's fine.
I'm like, yeah, look, my little nephew loves him.
Yeah.
Billing your mind.
I was like 18 at the time.
I know.
When I was.
Jimmy.
So it was for little Jimmy.
He's going to cry at the collection.
Doesn't he?
Jimmy's got thousands of them.
I'm currently.
Jimmy's a lucky little boy.
He's a big guy.
He's well stocked.
He's, uh, he's a lucky little 34 year old man.
So.
Okay.
Well, that was number one.
Thank you.
That, uh, I am relieved.
I've only seen them online previously.
So I didn't believe they're in Australia until someone in the car club.
The other who should remain nameless said, uh, oh, you've got one.
And I was right.
Oh, could there be right?
Okay.
If I find another one, David, I'll get you one because I put one for, uh, for my mother
because she has an FL5 and one for herself.
So if I find, if I find one, I will ensure to get you.
They only have them in blue in the blue.
Yeah.
I'll be.
I'll come out in white as well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, they often just change the color of the, of the, what the current.
That boost blue on the real car.
It's very.
Well, it's called racing blue in one market and boost blue in the other.
Yeah, that's.
All right.
So I'm sort of on the money.
I'd get half a point if that was the quiz.
You would.
And now it's not on the quiz.
Holy shanigans.
Holy shanigans.
Holy shanigans.
They're starting.
You have anyone.
He's right.
You didn't buzz in it.
Yeah.
And the other thing I was going to, the other reason I was in, in war was there were no news
agents anymore.
I don't know.
There's, there's no news agents.
So I was at the same war with looking for the current edition of unique cars that just
come out.
That's got a great right up of that magnet 40 in it.
Oh, yes.
Yes.
So I must find a copy.
It's got a Falcon panel van on the front, but it's got two pages.
It makes this inside.
So the race really reaches your little Australia post outlet.
That are in the site.
Oh, yes.
They're usually a news agent because they're a licensed one.
So they usually like tack it on to a news agency or some other sort of little business.
Right.
So look out for those.
Yep.
And they're usually some magazine.
It's like my one around the corner.
Those definitely.
Yeah.
Well, it's a big, the big war worth.
Where I was looking for here for five top hours does have, you know, it's got your hello
magazine and your, you know, for his own, brand or escape magazines in the country.
Or make a render escape.
You know, how magazine for render escape each of those, you know, or escape to a brand.
Escape to a brand.
That's it.
Come to a brand in the year.
So they usually have have a good record magazines as well.
But, you know, and wheels and, and yeah, none of them had wheels.
They didn't have.
Yeah.
So anyway, I like it when you all fight up, David.
It's very funny.
Sorry, David.
I didn't mean to get that angry about me.
A bad week from that point of view.
But great week in other ways.
So I don't agree.
It's used to buy a unique cast magazine.
I always, I always feel guilty buying magazines.
And you don't need it when you're doing it.
It's $6 a year.
It's spend or whatever it is.
There's probably more like $13 now.
There's no.
They are.
They're a bit pricey these days.
2004 prices.
But now I've gone by it.
If it's got Magnum 40 in it.
Oh, good.
We're having in the collection.
Which was the, what, what was the magazine's name?
A unique cast.
But that sales magazine, that's got some good,
usually has some good stories and readers rising.
And there's a few, a few okay cars in there too.
Sometimes you'll find cars in those mags that don't,
that people are old school, they don't put them online
or do anything with the gun.
So yeah.
Sure.
What climbs there are some gems out there
that don't make it to a wider audience.
Yes.
That is, that is absolutely very true.
I've only even bought one car.
That was my next question.
Have you ever bought one car from you?
One car.
And I still have a copy of the magazine.
It was the 1969 MG Midget that came from unique cars.
Well, actually have the unique cars that has the scamp
advertised in it that Mitchell now has.
Oh, it is.
Three owners ago.
And we know it's the car because it's been repainted.
It had been repainted.
Purple and, you know, had some mods done to it,
which have all been thankfully.
I'm done.
Yes.
Yeah, yeah.
That's cool.
We are also joined by Jim Barlow and Scotty Dow Johnson.
How are you, gentlemen?
Well, thank you very much.
We just sent into some car presentation.
We've got a full house tonight, gentlemen.
This is a, this is basically out, back to out.
Alan deep updates with you,
seeing Mr. Committee man over here.
He's always running around.
Always having to run out.
But thank you for the moment.
I think I mentioned last week that the DMACC
had a bit of smell in the air conditioning.
Mm-hmm.
Even though I changed out the filter to a new carbon filter.
Apart from the regular debris that's in the filter,
there was nothing particularly concerning.
So I decided to use one of those.
Disent, oh, I'm called a disinfectant,
but like a kind of fresh air,
air conditioning and refreshing sprays.
They just kind of run the air conditioning on research,
full blast, and put the can on,
give the can a good shake,
and then let the can kind of,
fume me out the car for lack of a better word.
So I did that on Sunday afternoon,
around about 15, 20 minutes
with the air conditioning running.
And then it says you're supposed to air it out afterwards.
I decided to forgo that step
and just close up the car and leave.
And then kind of edit out a little bit before I left
to the movies on Sunday night.
And it seemed to do the trick,
like I've run the air conditioning
in research mode more recently.
And I feel like there's still a hint of it there,
but it's certainly not as bad as it was.
Like it basically just happened in like ways
where it's in research, you're fine.
It's smelling completely normal
and then you just get hit by this wave of kind of something there.
Almost like, I wouldn't call it moldy necessarily,
but maybe like old food, possibly as well.
So I've hunted around the car looking for any kind of scraps
of food in case that was okay,
the situation, but it wasn't that.
But I think it seems to have done the trick.
Given that there was a few warmer days coming up,
I'll probably run in the air conditioning in research,
gone to work, will come back from work.
So, you know, that'll be the bigger test.
But it seems to have done the trick for me so far.
I think the next step would be hustling somebody
for an ozone machine and then kind of running the ozone
for about 30, 40 minutes and trying to kill,
if there's any other kind of mold or bacteria exist.
Where you're going to find where they're.
Look, the worst case scenario I've bought
and I start running to get out to the homies.
We're regrouped by costs.
We looked at, I looked at a canards fire
and I think they want like 60 bucks a day.
I'm pretty sure I can buy one for that much money.
Right, I was, it was a rhetorical question.
Oh, sorry.
Yes, no.
Of course.
The interior, man.
The interior, man.
Why would the interior man not have that?
Well, a little bit.
I guess we'll be in court later.
We may well be.
Looks like I'll be the one renting it off you.
But that, yeah.
So, I'll, I'll wait.
It's not the worst idea to run some ozone torrent anyway.
But if, you know, I'll see.
Disturbing you, David, in your pieces, you know,
if I can avoid it, I'll try to avoid it.
But before it goes.
Yeah, that's true.
What do you think of David?
I'm going to figure this out.
Three days.
Ah, it'll work the way to David returns.
But by then, I'll hopefully have a better idea
when this lip treatments worked along.
Maybe I'm still starting to think that the dealership,
whenever they try to sell me that,
any finishing disinfection,
what's something in there just to,
just because I refuse their service.
I think they're sabotaging you.
So you have to buy something.
Yeah.
So I have to buy it.
I'm like, I already.
You know, I'm just going to go to a different service center,
but an independent mechanic that will learn you.
You know what happened to Mum's car,
the Mercedes had this awful smell for so long
and ended up being.
There was a milky drink that was underneath her seat.
Oh.
That's bad.
It wasn't from any of us.
It was just when she got it.
She got it washed by some people
because she doesn't really wash it herself anymore.
So it was yeah, from them,
they must have had a drink or something.
A milky drink and had it sitting there
and they knocked it and ended up underneath the seat.
And they've got me about it.
That's disgusting.
My mum, I've mentioned this before I had a similar thing.
Her Yarris was pretty new
and it just had this funk to it.
And I was like, why does this new car have this funk?
And I found under the boot floor
because it's a double layer sort of a boot floor thing,
she'd put a two-litre bottle of milk
and it expanded.
It was about to explode.
And I was like, oh my dear Lord,
we got that in time.
At that point, at that point, you sell the car.
Like it's exploding in the,
you'd never get that smell out.
No, no.
It would have been yoga by that brand.
It would have been yoga.
It would have been yoga.
Very bad.
The only car that the Ozone machine has defeated
that in my experience was Hyundai IX35.
And yeah, they had a bottle,
they did the shopping
and cut on a milk rolled under the seat.
They parked the car in the garage
one away from month.
It had exploded.
And I gave it three goes
and in the end they traded the car
like they just had.
Yeah, it was not gone.
Not gone.
When they were for the train of David,
did they, they're like,
absolutely like just bomb it with debris.
The reason everything explodes.
Yeah, windows down,
you know, like the hole.
I'd imagine that's what they did
because it was a vial.
It was really terrible.
Horrible smell.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I don't think that was accidental
on those car cleaners.
If it wasn't your mum's milky drink,
that would have to have been something they'd have done.
Who would be having a milky drink inside a car
they're detailing?
Yeah.
They wanted to.
And then spill it under the seat
so that you'd have to have people coming back.
That's just, yeah.
It took us so long.
We're doing so much cleaning
and running things through the vent and stuff.
Ridiculous. Where is this coming from?
And then eventually I'm going through
and doing like a full deep clean
because it's really,
oh, as you would know,
it's really hard.
You can't see anything under those seats
because of all the electrics
that are underneath it
and you know,
headed seats and everything.
So it's hard to see under there
and eventually I found it as like,
oh my god.
That's it.
That's the smell.
It's the awe of growth.
You know,
it's a solid dinner for me.
Very bad.
It doesn't smell like it at all.
So once we got rid of that
and just cleaned clean the carpet
because it didn't spill,
didn't really spill on the carpet that much.
Yep.
There's still more kind of in the container.
So happy your days.
Yeah.
We'll stay tuned to next week's episode
where I talk about the five chicken nuggets
I found under the first blanket.
Here's the story.
When I worked at BMW Melbourne,
we had a demonstrator
and it was an X5.
Well, it was actually an X5
that was like a cancelled customer order
and they bought the cup back
or something like that.
Anyway, then it became,
it was so heavily optioned
for its time.
This is like 2009.
This thing had heated seats,
heated steering wheel,
top end sound system,
roof,
mags,
sport packs,
something else, something else.
It had a bunch of weird options on it.
Anyway, they just kept it
as sort of the staff loaner
as in,
if you're going to the snow,
you'd take that car.
So one day,
I did take to the snow.
I took it a few years,
and I actually,
one day I slammed on the brakes
for some reason
and a chicken nugget rolled out
from under the passenger seat.
And I said,
the DP's wife had been driving it around
for a bit with the kids
and I said,
oh, this nugget rolled out,
it was disgusting,
you know,
so then, from then on,
it was known as the nugget,
the chicken nugget.
We didn't use it in the nugget this week.
We're the nugget.
And it was off.
We even had makers in that car
since like 18 months,
I was like,
like, it had been there a lot.
Oh,
the union.
Luckily that sort of food
just never disintegrates.
Well, no, it's makin'.
Yeah, it just stays as it is.
It almost looked the same.
You could probably eat and be aged.
Yeah.
You could have some sweet sail.
Well, let's give it a go.
That was known as the nugget,
Edward Bunting.
It was known as the nugget.
And also,
so that car copped a lot of abuse,
you know, it was out on long term lines
and going to the snow and all that chicken nugget
under the seat.
And it copped the hail storm somewhere around.
When was that?
2012 or 30?
Yeah.
The real bad one.
It got smashed by the hail storm
and then repaired from that.
It just had so many lives,
you know,
for all these cars we buy
that are like one owner
and beautifully treated and all of that.
This thing,
this thing had had a real hard life.
I remember one client borrowed it
and he said to me,
oh, it's a bit dirty in the back end.
I said, that's all right.
We'll take it down to detailing.
Don't stress about cleaning.
He's like, no, no, no,
it's really a bit bad.
And I'm like, no, seriously,
like we've got deep tailors.
That's why they're there.
We got that back.
Oh my god.
The kids had eaten
like ice creams in the back seat.
It had gone into the carpet
like a raspberry ice cream.
It makes mushed their feet.
Oh, the carpet.
You know how a carpet has a pile to it.
There was no pile anymore
to the carpet.
It was a solid.
Oh, yeah.
It was full of strawberries.
It was full of strawberries.
It was a desk.
It was disgusting.
That was a nugget.
Nevertheless,
coming down the road
from Mount Hotham,
I did always appreciate the
heated steering wheel.
You know, when your fingers are frozen,
very, very nice to have heated steering wheel.
Do you know what I'm to that car?
It eventually got sold
through the use car department
to someone who knew the business
was like someone's cousin
or something.
Executive driven.
It got sold cheap.
I know that much.
It was cheap.
Yeah, well.
I'm trying to remember the region
on it.
I used to know the region.
It was in you.
GG.
It was.
It was space gray.
It was a three-leeded diesel
sultz gray on cream
beige liver.
No.
Opulent.
Opulent.
Opulent.
A few space gray.
The exfyes were there.
Yeah, that doesn't narrow it down.
But find one with those options.
I think it's probably long since
dead for now.
That car.
Yeah, that model didn't
particularly tend to last.
I imagine sitting in a scrap
out and somebody was like,
going through a look of a path
and they just like chicken nugget.
The nugget car.
The nugget car.
Well, it's thing.
Stick with it.
You're updated.
Where do we get to last time?
Border laser.
Oh, yeah, the laser.
You know about the laser.
It's good to remind me you're like,
hang on it.
There's something else you bought.
Yes.
I forgot about it,
because it's not at my house.
So if it's out of sight out of mind,
a bit.
The laser is booked in
to have a little road
with the glance
in about a week and a half.
The big girl Mercedes
380 SEL is on the road on
club plates.
I've been driving it around.
It's running really nicely
and driving very well.
However, the ABS light has
clicked on last weekend.
And I'm like,
yeah, right.
That's minor compared to other
things.
I'm okay with that.
So it's probably
dirty sensors or something
like that.
I'll chip away and work out what
that is.
And it's sort of was a reminder
to me that's what happened
when cars sit.
You know,
you sit cars.
Then you start using cars.
Things go wrong.
Yeah.
It's a common trajectory.
Yeah.
Sold the magna.
The VRX is gone.
No, it's gone.
Well, as of yesterday.
So that's gone to some new owners
who are going to do a road
worthy and fix a month
around a few things on that.
Pagero is back.
I think I mentioned that last
time.
Maybe it's back from our
Floyd and.
And the first day you picked
it up, wasn't it?
Yeah, last day.
Yeah,
happy days.
Happy days.
Pages running well.
The fuel gauge is a little
bit dicky.
You did fix that.
And we noticed it went just
before I left.
But that seems
a still a bit intermittent.
It was final away home.
And then just a couple
of times it's been a bit
dicky.
So that is what it is.
But no, the rest of it's
good.
My sister's just texted me
now and said, can I borrow
that on the weekend?
I'm like, yeah, sure.
So it won't be for sale just
yet.
Maybe next week.
Yeah, very nice.
Maybe it'll be a Christmas
vehicle.
See 180 little bends is almost
back from the workshop.
And then I'll advertise that
service month continues.
It's amazing how long
service month drags on for
even the number.
The sheer number of vehicles
involved.
Toronto.
Here's one that's going to
develop the slight
squeak from one of the belts.
But only on a random sort
of intermittent squeak.
And I said to the mechanic,
can you just check the belt
because it doesn't usually
squeak.
And it's just doing a little
bit of a squeak here and there.
What he found was the water
pump was dripping just
slightly.
When the drip went on the belt
it would squeak and then it
would dry out.
You know, just enough to give
it a little.
Wow.
That's like a
sort of
thing.
I know.
It's had a new water pump and
new spark plugs.
What's in there?
I grabbed the Renault last night
the car that we met with
Maddie J.
I know.
That's in for work out
where the oil leaks coming
from, which is quite a bad
oil leak.
It's a bit like if it was a
Q80 tanker in the ocean,
you know, seals and filthens
would die.
So I'm going to try
environmental hazard.
Yeah.
Thankfully, you think it's a
sun-played washer.
I was like, I was expecting
the aluminium sun to maybe
have a hairline crack in it.
But he thinks it's a
washer.
So I'm like, well, I hope
you're right.
Yeah.
So yeah, I was fanging around
in that last night.
Just on benzers, did you
happen to see on Facebook
where I can place that cheap
CE 24 valve?
I think a wrap it Steve
Miles has got.
Was it black one?
Arthur was navy blue
with beige.
I have, I think I did
glance at that.
There's a few CE's getting
around at the moment that
are not bad value.
Someone sent me a black
on gray today that was
eight.
I've seen others for sort
of 12 and 13.
And they're
not.
I mean, they will need
some more question, but
they're certainly a great
solid classic.
Yes.
So that's you.
Jim Ballo.
Updates with you, my
friend.
Well, so I won't cover
groundery covered by it
about the laser.
But I'm much happier
that that's in a much
happier place than
where it was before.
Really long Jim.
Nicky's been cleaning
it.
Yes, I did see all of that.
So I think the laser is
doing very, very well
and being in a much better
home than what I had for
it.
But otherwise in terms
of updates.
So I submitted my last
tape assignment today.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
I got a job off
yesterday from a
training organisation as
well.
Awesome.
Awesome.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Well done.
Thank you.
And then that's
a bit of a segue
because it was the end
of tape I was
funny, motivation a bit
hard.
So I promised that I
would, if I finished
by myself a
graduation present.
Oh,
so many day and I went
and had a look at it
at a perspective,
a graduation present
on the weekend.
I won't say
anything more yet,
because I'm still
waiting on some
things to get in.
But I may potentially
have bought
myself a graduation
present.
Yeah.
That's exciting.
Is it made in Japan?
Adam.
Is it made in Japan?
I'm not going
to say anything
else yet.
Yeah.
I was going to put the
mous on it.
The body.
It has four wheels.
I'll say that much.
It's not a motorcycle.
So that rolls out
any six by six.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Correcty.
Crawler.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So things are rolled out.
I'm bigger.
So if that goes
as I'm hoping it will,
then that will be a nice
Pleasant surprise. It seems like a card talk closes to close to question.
Absolutely. Thinking of, I think it's an Aureon.
Actually, why don't a lot of people just guess, that'd be fun.
No, because you won't tell us. We don't want to know just yet.
Or you can tell us later, but I'm going to guess Aureon.
Okay.
Ooh.
David Prince.
Um, I think I'm going to guess Magna Orvarada derivative thereof.
Scotty.
Camry.
Yeah, I was going to say Camry because you've been,
you were talking about them a few weeks ago.
So, okay, we'll go with that.
Hmm.
Ask Maddie, could that be cheating?
Oh, my guess was going to be reliant Robin, but you said four wheels.
There's one option tonight.
Yeah, Burns and Phil.
Are you sure it's not a reliant Robin?
I'm sure.
Well, he's your chast, though, in a three wheel occur.
Yeah.
What was it on?
Let me just, uh, I'll get back to you on that.
What's that thought?
What's the B&W?
G6E Turbo, uh, in Emperor with Creme Interior,
I'm going to go.
See, uh, we were talking about G6E Turbo,
was it's not that, or was it?
No, it's not that.
No, it's not that much money.
No.
So that's a very good gym, very good.
And the catch up was very good anyway, too.
So that was good.
That was good.
It was good to say, I'll have a chat.
Scotty, don't.
Oh, me, um, check.
Things this time, right?
Time might have saw the picture where I gave the blade a bit of a wash
and gave the front lawn a bit of a mo at the same time.
At the same time, really?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm off.
I'm good.
I'm good.
Yeah, I'm good.
I can't see a graph.
I can't see a graph.
He's got a sponge in the left hand.
Yeah, I did with the mo,
and just going back up forward like the car.
I reckon there are blocks around Australia
that would love that idea.
They give their car washed
and their lawnmowered at the same time.
You could make money out of that, Scotty.
Scotty, we could be the dream team.
What's the other thing?
It's a Scotty secret on how I do that.
Yeah, so I went through and gave the clean.
Uh, I've got someone coming out on Monday to have a look at it
because the handbrake or footbreak
does not, does not work really.
It doesn't really engage.
So kind of figured that, uh,
you know, I had an inkling that it wasn't working at all
for, for a while now.
And then when I kind of just parked on a hill,
on a bit of an incline, I put it in neutral
and pushed in for the handbrake
and it just keeps on rolling.
So it doesn't engage.
Yeah, it's a electric, yeah.
Oh, it's a footbreak, you said sorry.
Yeah, you didn't know.
So I'm not sure if it's maybe got to do
because it's got the aftermarket brakes
front and rear.
Maybe it's got some to do with that.
So he's going to fix that for me hopefully
and also look at the brakes.
I think maybe the front
driver's side might stick
a little bit.
I kind of noticed
once I washed it
and I've got my foot completely,
I've got my foot on the brake
and then I take it off
it squeaks, it squeals a bit.
So I feel like it shouldn't, shouldn't,
it shouldn't let go.
Like it shouldn't still be grabbing
at that time.
So he's going to have a look at like,
he's going to have a look at that for me.
It's yes, I think the noise is coming
from the front driver's side
but he will have a look at both for me
because again, yeah, it's
aftermarket.
I mean, there's not cheap brakes,
they're not cheap aftermarket ones,
they're top quality ones.
But he will have a look at that
see if it's installed properly.
Correctly, yeah.
For me.
So get that one looked at.
That's on the Monday
because, yeah, sorry to some teachers there.
I finished up this week.
Well, I'll talk to you right now, Scotty.
The kids, the kids are done.
They finished on Friday
and this is my, my last week
had year seven orientation today.
Okay, moving on Scotty, moving on.
That's OK.
What else?
I went and started up the skyline.
I was going to take it out
but then I couldn't be bothered to move
my brother's car and stuff.
I've got a little bit lazy.
But it starts up fine.
So let that run.
I got the
fire extinguisher mount.
So I was going to just
just test fit it.
See how it goes.
And I was trying to test fit.
I'm like, this is ridiculous.
It doesn't fit at all.
Turns out it goes on the driver's side
and on the passenger side.
I don't feel it.
So I'm just sitting there going,
there's no way the bolts don't reach.
I have a look at the pitch.
I'm like, this is, it is the exact one.
I go, this is just absolutely just stupid.
What is this one for then?
This just doesn't reach, doesn't fit well.
And then there's a, there's a video
but not of my, not of my skyline.
It was a of them fitting one in and are 33
and they're fitting it and it's going in the,
in the driver's side.
I went, oh, that's probably what mine is.
They had a look and go, oh, yes,
bolts and everything line up there perfectly.
So yeah, it attaches there.
And then you just get the,
far angsting, we sure that's got the metal clasp.
And it just fits onto their clasp song.
And you're all good to roll.
Yeah, awesome.
So yeah, how did that end?
That is me.
That's all.
Chad, power wise, I haven't really done a lot.
It's been a bit, a bit slow.
I had other things happening.
But I was put on to
something by a friend of ours, a magna person.
And I've secured myself a second magna.
Is it your first one?
Well, for the purposes of
getting the manual gearbox out of it and putting it onto my sedan.
This is a, yeah, manual swap.
Yeah, I'm done with the automatics.
Yeah.
I'm done with dealing with, you know,
90 kilos of disappointment.
Yeah, 90 kilos of disappointment.
So yeah, I found one that was incredibly cheap.
A whole running and driving car.
So I just have to go and get it.
What was wrong with this car?
What's wrong with this car?
Yeah.
I'm not sure.
It's not a, it's not a, um,
a aspirin green wagon, is it?
Yes, it is.
You saw that one?
I did see it pop up.
It wasn't correct.
Yeah, so I think it's just got really rough on the outside, but
he sent me a video of him starting it, jump starting it.
He goes, he just needs a battery.
And, um, driving it up to like a hundred kilometers an hour on the road.
So I was like, well, I mean, that's, you know, that's good enough for me.
Maybe, maybe, all I need is a gearbox.
The other one.
What's that?
Maybe it's easier to swap your motor into that car.
I mean, the body is really rough on that aspirin green.
It's like, it looks like it's been left outside
all its life without being washed or cared for.
I didn't speak to the guy and he said, yeah,
it used to be my dad's and then it retired about 15 years ago,
but they've kept it, which is good.
But obviously, they've like started it and you know, kept it sort of driving and running.
So, you know, it's good for me.
Yeah, it was, uh,
it was half the price of buying another gearbox.
Yeah.
It was, that was the cheaper one.
So, you know, it's really, really debated myself to see if I should go with it.
But in the end, I thought, yeah, it's probably the best thing.
Well, absolutely.
To up and get a manual gearbox in it,
all the bits that I'm talking about, yeah, all the bits are there.
So, essentially, um, take it out, put it in.
Yeah.
And you can, you can do it step by step so you can,
you can watch what you're doing each step of the way.
So, you can, it's not much.
I mean, you're easy said and done,
but it is a, it's going to be a longer project and,
I mean, it's going to be easier than fitting another automatic gearbox.
Meaning one at least.
Yeah.
So, um, I just have to now just deal with the record that I got the auto automatic gearbox from
and see what, um, I can do with them.
Um, I'm struggling to find a person or a place that will scan the car,
uh, to see if there's some sort of a TCU error or because the car doesn't move,
it's really hard to like get it somewhere.
So, and I can't find a mobile mechanic that has the scanner that I need.
Um, it would all have scanners.
Well, yeah, but it's a very specific one.
It's pre-obd, it's this like old diagnostic thing and, uh,
that's the bottom drawer of so many mechanic's benches, you know,
untreated.
They don't even forgot they've got them.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
And, you know, uh, yeah, if I can get my hands on one to figure out,
that'd be great, but just for the meantime, I'm,
yeah, I'm still trying to figure out part of it out.
It might be worth speaking to, like, a Mitsy Rekko or a Mitsy specialist, um,
just looking out for one.
Or speaking to the, to the players and say, hey,
can you send me one out because I've got no way of testing this gearbox,
and I'm running out of time to, otherwise the warranty's going to be out of, out of.
Yeah, yeah, essentially.
That was what they said initially, but I said, yeah, I'll, I'll try and figure something out.
So, yeah, I'll, I've got to, you know,
I'm going to get onto that one because it is,
it's coming up to the end of warranty period.
But, um, I said it was a dial.
The bag to place it was clearly dialed.
Uh, I did ring them for what I was looking for a gearbox.
What about, um, I will, you know, totally forgot about that, David.
I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what if they have anything.
I did, um, when I spoke to them, it sounded like they,
uh, sort of bought the business of someone else that
used to do Magnus off, but they don't really any more.
Um, but, um,
Andru's used them quite a bit, I think.
Um, yeah.
Okay.
So, he's made his own complaints through them, I think.
Oh, really?
Okay, interesting.
Yeah, all right.
Well, um, yeah, I'll give them a go tomorrow because I think anyone locally might help
one, they might be them.
Yeah.
So, yeah, uh, picking the other magnet up in a week and a half.
Uh, so, uh, where is it?
It's in Horsham.
Horsham, that's a little way out there.
Yeah, so I've got a, um, uh, Polgat has, uh,
very kindly offered to, uh, go up and grab it with a tow vehicle.
So we'll do that.
And, uh, yeah, it's probably going to be, it's going to be a new year.
Yeah, project issue project.
So, um,
do you think is they'd take up so little space, mate?
Jent day, you know?
Yeah.
No, I've got to find another, uh, the whole other space or a whole other cart.
Well, it's going to be a quick in and out and then
Pistachar, I forget to, to, yeah, essentially.
And I said, I told Polgat it could have any wagon parts.
And also you, David, um, if you and Andrew need any wagon parts.
Well, thanks, mate.
Anything and everything is all yours.
I know, just have to fight Polgat for it.
Sorry, what was that?
I nearly backed into your magna wagon when I was shuffling.
Jesus.
In our storage facility.
I sort of think, right?
I can, uh, don't eat that one.
I ate that one.
Yeah, no one.
Well, is it going to end conditioning?
People, if it does, you, you might be able to take it.
The paddle, the paddle, the, the condenser.
I mean, you have a different pump and everything,
but you can get it started on it, David.
You can do it.
Well, if it's got air conditioning, it's all yours.
So it's not a just not a terrible idea.
Not a terrible idea, David Prince.
Not a terrible idea at all.
Um, yeah, I don't know enough about the car.
I'll be honest.
I don't know a lot about it.
But, uh, well, if it, uh, it's a bit of a, uh,
it's, it would only be just like a child in the history of Mitsubishi Magnus
that I've been out here conditioning.
Well, there you go.
If it doesn't have it, uh, I think it's, uh, I don't think it's an executive.
Oh, don't joke me.
E, let me, uh,
say body, body color bumper bars.
Sorry, I'm just about to look at it.
He's one photo, and it was a bit hard to tell.
I could tell the head, one of the headlight covers was broken.
I could tell that.
Yeah.
I'll say it because the, uh, body is so like mounted and mounted.
It's hard to tell if it's body colored or faded.
That's really bad.
It's not great, but I'll let you know,
I'll be in touch.
Updates, uh, any other updates channels?
No, that's it.
Updates for me.
Very, very, very.
So, uh, updates with, with, with me,
I drove the Typhoon in the weekend, uh, you know,
getting that out and about.
It's, it's always a nice fun thing to drive around.
I then, I didn't hear anything from the MR2 mechanic who was looking at it
