A service writer is the person who talks to you about the problem and creates the repair order. They’re important because the technician depends on the details they collect.
A “service writer” (service advisor) is the front-desk role that interviews the customer, writes up the work order, and coordinates with the technician. The speaker argues technicians are affected when the service writer fails to gather the right information or sell enough diagnostic time.
