amperage
Amperage is how much electricity is flowing through a wire. When it's cold, a car's starter needs more electricity from the battery to work.
Amperage refers to the amount of electric current flowing in a circuit, measured in amperes. In automotive terms, a starter motor requires a certain amount of amperage from the battery to function properly, especially in colder conditions.
