Nitrous is a gas you can inject into an engine to give it more oxygen, letting it burn more fuel and produce more power.
Nitrous refers to nitrous oxide (N₂O) injection, a method of adding extra oxygen to an engine’s combustion chamber to allow more fuel to burn and increase power.
