drums
Drum brakes are an older type of braking system. They can work fine, but they often don’t handle repeated hard stops as well as disc brakes.
Drum brakes use brake shoes that press outward against a drum to create friction. They were common historically, but they can be less effective under repeated high-speed braking because they tend to shed heat less efficiently than discs.
