heads up display
A heads-up display shows important car information right in front of you, so you don’t have to look down at a dashboard screen while driving.
A heads-up display (HUD) projects information onto the windshield or a transparent screen in front of the driver, allowing them to see data such as speed or navigation without looking away from the road.
