platform sharing
When cars share a platform, they’re built on the same basic structure and use many of the same parts. This helps manufacturers make different models faster and cheaper.
Platform sharing means two or more car models use the same underlying chassis, engine layout, and many components to reduce development costs and improve parts commonality.
