api
An API is a way for one computer system to get information from another system. If an API is restricted, it can block tools from pulling the data they need.
API stands for Application Programming Interface, which is how software systems communicate and share data. In automotive retail, APIs are often used to pull listing, inventory, and performance data into dealer tools—so restrictions on APIs directly affect what dealers can build or automate.
