PHEVs
PHEVs are cars that use both gas and electricity. You can charge their batteries by plugging them in, so they can drive some distance on electricity alone.
PHEVs stands for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles, which combine a gasoline or diesel engine with an electric motor and a rechargeable battery that can be charged via an external power source.
